Ужасно

Added expense for digital lack of quality and battery Hog. Get a smaller simpler camera. This was cumbersome. Slow to flash.

I've been waiting for a point and shoot that would be a decent backup for my 5D. I wanted something that has RAW capability and provides the flexibility inherent in SLRs. A member of my photo guild pointed me to the G-15. It's small enough to have it with me just about anywhere, takes VERY nice pictures and does high ISO images beautifully and without a lot of noise. I like it so much that I'm taking it Arizona for a family visit instead of lugging my whole camera bag on the airplane. This camera is everything I was looking for and then some.

I have been buying Canon Gs since the G2 have a G5 G7 G10 G11 IMHO and I am no expert, the G15 I just bought from Amazon is the best Canon G I have ever used. If you have never owned a digital camera, it's no problem getting started taking really good pictures. Just put camera in Auto and start taking pictures. Later after a brief look at the manual you can start trying the manual settings. this is a very easy camera to learn to use, and you will get quality colorful sharp pictures right from you'r fist picture. The lens is fast and auto focus is quick and right on. The size is great and this camera feels solid in my hand. The LCD is bright and sharp with true great colors. There was nothing that makes me regret buying this fine Canon G. Amazon was quick to get it to me, ordered on a Friday it was in my hands on Monday. And this was the free shipping. I have posted a few pictures on the web forum depreview [...] again I am no picture expert just someone who enjoys taking problem free pictures, and I feel the Canon G15 fills this bill.

I loved the look of this camera and also wanted a small camera that had manual settings. The white balance on the monitor is completely different than on the computer. I was taking interior shots and played with the white balance and exposure until I got a nice bright shot (if you over expose a little indoors, white walls can appear less dingy). Once I loaded my card in, the shots were filled with brown tones, looked nothing like it did on the monitor. The little trap door for the batteries is hard to close, it's very awkward, I feel like it's going to break at anytime.

All my action shots are blurry. I bought this camera for my wife as a Christmas present. We took pictures of the kids opening presents and all the pictures turned out badly, unless they were motionless! I looked at the documentation, and went online in an attempt to find a solution, but all the suggestion for settings did not work. Engineering foresight and capability to improve on existing products were not displayed well with this model. In my humble opinion, this is not a well rounded camera for family's with active kids.On the positive side, it does take good still photos.BTW, someone recently asked whether or not the software is compatible with apple's OS. Yes, it is compatible with MAC OS 10.6- 10.7

I've been a loyal Canon user for over twenty years. I have owned all the previous models in this line SX100, SX110, SX120, SX130, SX150 and now this SX160. I went to use this camera for the first time this past weekend and after the second picture I took it came up with a lens error. The lens would not retract at all. Even after removing the batteries. Finally the next day it retracted. I have never had a problem with the previous models so I'm not sure it I got a lemon. The few pictures I did take indoors were grainy and out of focus. It seems like the beginning cameras in this line were way better than the latest models. This was my go to camera for concerts, not anymore. Sad because now I have to find another model I like better. The G15 takes amazing pictures in low light but it only has a 5x zoom. I have the T4i too but think my T1i just as well if not better. Hopefully Canon can fix these issues because I don't want to switch brands.

Fantastic little camera - and very versatile. It is well worth downloading the full instruction document and reading it cover to cover - use the camera for a while then read it again. My other camera is a Canon 7D which is feeling rather neglected ...

Let me tell you, i own different kinds of camera but when I saw this product. My search is over and I was completely sold out. The best camera I ever owned, the most compact and it gives you great pictures without even trying. I'm not a novice photographer nor a professional but when i take pictures with my G15. I feel like I'm one. It gives you great shots like a 35mm camera and the color quality is amazing. You have to buy it to believe it. Canon went to such great lenghts to make this camera as close to perpect in my opinion. I own a Canon Mark11 DSLR and a Canon T1i and this is as close as you can get with the G15 without carrying excess baggage. Its so small and portable. I recently use this when I went to a 13 day trip Turkey a month ago. My experience with this camera is priceless. Check it out for yourself.

Хорошо

This camera is true to the reviews--it is slow and not suitable for action shots. It takes a LONG time to reset for next shot, especially if using the flash. Otherwise, no complaints. Very easy to use, zoom is exceptionally clear, pictures are perfect. I love the red color, it's not too big but still feels like a camera and not a phone in my hand. Buy it...unless you are a speed junkie, you won't be sorry.

I am a photographer, and I always purchase Canon products. However last year when I was stuck between the Canon D10 or Panasonic Lumix, I chose the Lumix based on it's superior specs at the time. The image quality was overly sharp, and the colors were dull. It definitely did not hold up to my expectations. When the weather was warm it would frequently fog the lens and LCD, leaving me unable to take clear photos. I took very good care of it, yet it still glitched a few times and shut itself off after being in a pool for 15-20 minutes.Anyway, the camera was stolen from me last fall and I was elated to see Canon was finally upgrading their underwater camera. I pre-ordered it, and had my first chance to use it two weeks ago for a rafting trip. The pictures came out crisp, sharp (but not too much so), vibrant - everything I love about my other powershots, rebels and 5Ds! This is the greatest picture quality I have seen in a camera that does not have a retractable lens. In fact, my friend loved the photos from the trip so much that he is planning on upgrading his underwater-case (another fog-loving solution) for this model as well!I can't speak much for it's durability as it's only made two underwater trips so far - but those have been great! However I DID purchase an extended waterproof warranty from SquareTrade, because according to reviews, Canon is not always reliable when it comes to standing behind their products.

First, the camera takes good photos and video, and is faster than my old Canon. My big complaint with this camera how very slow and cumbersome the flash is. Many good photos were missed waiting for the flash. Even being proactive, and starting the flash before starting to take photos didn't work, as the flash times out very quickly - once the button is depressed to take the photo, the flash starts to warm up again, and the photo opportunity is missed. If you're taking photos of kids or pets, this is a problem. The good news is that this camera takes decent photos without the flash, even in lower lighting, so I don't bother with it and so far, have gotten by okay. But "getting by okay" is not what I expected from a camera in this price range.

Good camera. Very good picture quality.I used to have G12 before for a few months. Upgraded to G15 expecting better picture quality and I'm not disappointed. What is missing compared to G12 that is no articulating screen, which is very convenient occasionally . Maybe it should be two models offered, one with and one without it.I didn't know it in time of buying G15 and I'm really disappointed. Also it would be nice to have a touchscreenIf you buying G15 be aware no USB nor TV cables are included. There are included with G12.Cheap side of Canon. Because of it four stars only.

My first step up from the point and shoot world.Fast response, In auto and even when flash is ready it will still take picts with ambient light that are great. Even got picture of stars while hand-held. Surprised I got anything!I am starting to explore features, which indeed work as documented.I also took picture of a speaker from way in the back and got good shots - no flash! It has a rock solid feel in the hand. Heavy-ish.Took a few sessions to get comfortable holding the camera.Does not have tilt/swing viewing LCD. I never had one with so I am fine, and actually feel it is less vulnerable to damage and dirt this way.Great battery life.No after-market book out for it yet. 12/20/2012

Haven't had the time that is required to learn how to use this camera properly, but can tell that it will be the one I have been looking for.The Canon SX260 stutter speed was to slow, causing missed shots.

This camera does everything that Canon advertised. It's easy to operate, functional, and takes super pictures in spite of the operator. You can shoot HD video, bursts, single shots, you name it. I really like the ease of functions, handling, weight, etc

I owned many cameras in the past, including Canon G series. This G15 is the best G so far. Thanks to the new bright lens, when used with indoor lighting, the shutter speed remains fast enough to prevent blurred results. The new body without the bulky flip out screen has much better ergonomics. Also last but not least, Canon used a new sensor in the G15 that allows a higher ISO setting to be used with very good results. This one is a keeper for long time.

I really give this 4-1/2 stars. Love the Raw file and fast lens but it only goes down to f/8, it would be nice to have f/16 forincreased depth of field. The controls and menu are easy to run and most of my other Canon stuff works with it.Some reviews don't like the viewfinder but I haven't any issues with it, I use it only when the outdoor light is to brightto see the display. If you are looking for an advanced P/S, this is a good one.

I had a Canon PowerShot SD700 IS for the last 6 years or so, along with the waterproof enclosure for it (big bulky thing). I used the camera for lots of hiking and used the underwater case several times snorkeling and it worked extremely well. Unfortunately the camera recently got stolen when someone snatched my wife's purse, and we needed a replacement.I decided the D20 because of my good experience with Canon in the past and because the rugged and waterproof design was appealing to me. My mother who is in town visiting has the Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 and I decided to do a side by side comparison. I will upload some comparison shots, but the bottom line is that they perform nearly exactly the same in every way. Video quality, image quality, macro performance, resolution, zoom range, all close enough to make it impossible to tell if a picture was taken with one or the other when viewing them on the computer later.I now think of this camera is as an ELPH 300 with a rugged case. The internalized zoom mechanism may cause some slight image quality degradation, but I could not tell from my side by side testing. If you want a super small point and shoot, get the ELPH 300, if you want a slightly larger point and shoot that can handle a few knocks and is waterproof, get the D20.
