Have had this camera for a while. Takes good pictures, has many good features, easy to learn, light weight, easy to carry in pocket or purse.
But... two major problems. It takes a while to recharge after taking a few shots, especially if using flash; and there is a problem with battery contacts. After using it for a while it begins to eat batteries... quickly. I read that the problem is with the contact. So I carefully lifted the contacts at the bottom with a metal tooth pick, and voila - problem solved. But be very careful when you lift up those contacts, maybe 1mm, or they will likely break. But this is a good solution for the batteries problem.

I usually shoot with professional grade equipment but there are always times when you want to carry a very small camera for shooting casual pictures. I have tried several over the years but the results were never satisfactory, or the camera was slow and not responsive enough. The PowerShot N is the perfect machine! Its very fast, images are excellent sharpness across the zoom spectrum and low light or odd light images are very good.You have to spend a little time getting accustomed to handling the camera as it is quite small and the shutter is on the lens ring. However in a very short time it all makes sense. Overall its very simple and intuitive, and the wifi feature is an extra bonus. You don't have to accept smartphone quality pics if you have this camera (which is smaller than a phone). Its also very well built, quality materials and finish, feels good in your hand. Some will be turned off by the price but if you want a really high quality very small camera that can shoot high quality images, this is it!

The camera is good, im surprise with the zoom that is amazing.. but the thing that i dont like is that the camera is with batteries AAA and they are done really quick...

It was a gift for an older couple and the way you zoom & take shoots was a bit unusual, for me it would have been fine. Loved that it was compact... just not the best for someone not technically savy

Awesome camera. As a user of a DSLR, I bought this for my wife, but find myself using it more than her now (oops). With full control and great picture quality, what more do you need?

I have a Canon 5D, which is much bigger and heavier. This camera operates in a similar way; familiar controls; Canon high quality. It is small, however, and even in my small hands it feels a bit cramped. Also, because of it's size I was lulled into thinking I could throw it in my backpack and not worry. Two weeks after I got it, I dropped my backpack on the sidewalk, and it must have landed with the camera down. It dented the lens ring and damaged two of the buttons, making them inoperable; Back to Canon for a costly repair. Now I wouldn't buy this camera without a protective case - which I quickly got. I would recommend the camera since it does make very good images, but I would advise treating it carefully. It's not the toy it sometimes feels like.

I found the picture quality to be excellent with this camera. However, one problem that I have experienced with this camera and other point and shoot camera's (two other Canon's and one Panasonic), is that the lens cover sticks and does not open or close completely. I had this camera only two weeks, shot about 300 pictures and then the lens cover would not close completely. That one issue has me turned off on point and shoot cameras. Tired of spending upwards of $500 and having this be a repeat issue. Very disappointed because I really loved the camera. Canon and other manufacturers need to CLEAN UP THEIR ACT. Three other friends of mine have had similar issues. I would have rated this a 5 star and I had hoped I would be able to pack this camera with me instead of always taking my DSLR. On a positive note, Amazon and the dealer, Camera Stop took care of the problem and refunded my money. Now trying to decide what to do next?

This is the easiest to use camera I have ever had. It is just point and shoot, or you can set it for numerous settings-indoor, night time, outdoor, children and pets, and more! One of my favorites!

Set on focus manual mode or else the movie will go blrry with the slightest movement of subject. Cannon on line help site got me this answer.

EASY TO HOLD, CONTROLS ARE HANDY. MISS THE OLD VIEW FINDER, FIRST CAMERA I HAVE THAT DIDN'T HAVE ONE. LIKE HAVING AA BATTERIES IN CAMERA. INEXPENSIVE, AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE.

I bought this as a gift for my daughter before she went on a trip. She loved it, and immediately started taking some great photos with it. It is extremely versatile. Hard to imagine that so much can be packed into such a small package.

This is the handiest inexpensive camera we have yet found! My wife loves the fact that it is 16.0 MP and the photos are amazingly sharp. We are both happy that it has many of the capabilities of the more expensive SLRs on the market. My wife is currently learning to use the changes in the aperture and speed settings to get the exact qualities she wants in her photos.

For some reason this camera has a higher star rating then it deserves. It burns through batteries, takes poor pictures and if you want to catch a quick and unexpected shot, forget it. I was very disappointed by this Canon product.

II had this camera and use it for underwater photography, I unfortunately flooded it and needed to replace it. So I knew what I wanted when I ordered it. I am very happy. If you like to do maunal setting this camera will let you do that.

I'm a professional photographer, and I use this daily for portraits. I actually use this instead of my pro Nikon slrs since my back and neck injury for my personal work. The resolution is very high for a point and shoot and the RAW files can handle photoshop manipulation. I actually shoot the camera with my dynalites and use soft boxes and umbrellas with the pocket wizard. Most point and shoots would not handle the ability to be compatible with strobes.Overall a great camera for the size. Critisms are A. Even though it saws it handles TTL flash, I don't think it's successful. There are no TTL modes. On camera flash looks very flashy B. Aperture only goes as large as f8 C. Also this is an updated version of the G9, but they removed the manual focusing ring. D. Canon Raws as opposed to Nikons are not compatible with a lot of Adobe software. I had to buy the newest version of Lightroom to see the RAWS to manipulate in Photoshop. The files are also not compatible with the CS5 version.

When I was getting this camera, I was debating between 1) Canon G15, 2) Sony RX100, 3) Panasonic Lumix LX7 and 4) Canon S110 and in the end I settled on the G15. I want a solid P&S camera that is very easy to use (I plan to use in auto mode like 95% of the time). As a prudent buyer, I dutifully did some online research and arrived at this conclusion: if budget is not a consideration, the best camera is Sony RX100; for budget conscious, Lumix LX7 seems the best choice. I honestly think all of these cameras are good and since I have a bias towards Canon and I have some hands on experience with the G11 which is amazing, I decided on the G15. That said, I think if I were to pick again, I may choose the Sony RX100 for the smaller form factor. G15 is not really pocket size. So far, based on the 600+ pictures I took on my recent trip, I am satisfied with the performance (shooting speed, image quality) of this camera.

Once again Canon has impressed me. They make fine cameras. My wife took her old camera in for repairs and the repairman said they had never seen a camera actually worn out. She takes lots of pictures

I had a canon sx130is camera before I dropped it and it broke. So, I wanted another one just like, but with some updated features. So, I contacted canon before I purchased this camera and specfically asked if this camera had the color accent option because I really liked that option on the sx 130is. There are many different websites out there and some say it has it and some say it does not. The canon rep that I talked to in VA, reassured me it had the color accent option. So, I bought it. When the camera came in, I tried it out, but I could not figure out how to work the color accent option. So, I contacted canon again. Another rep wrote back and said, sorry, this camera does not have the color accent option. So, I am returning it. The 160 camera is lighter weight than the 130, and does have the i movie option, but overall, I feel it is cheaply made and does not offer as many options as the 130. I think canon missed the boat on this camera. I really wanted an updated camera, but this does not work for me. I hope they bring it back to this series with the new update.

Have charged both camera batteries with this now. Does exactly what it says. Bought another charger elsewhere last year and it was useless, but this one is the biz.

It is easy to use and takes nice pictures. No expensive speciality batteries to buy. It is very durable as I take it everywhere.
