This camera takes killer Videos. Anti-shake device works as if you had this camera on Glide-Cam mount. Awesome. But photos Im not really impressed with. For outside it maybe ok. But indoors its not so good. But old S80 took better pictures. It takes very good pics in dark places where you dont need flash BUT when you put the flash on it takes too long to for the flash to load power to the lamp. You also have to pop the flash up manually everytime (my wife hated that) and when you take pictures in wide angle (24mm focus) edges of pictures long elongated (if you have a face on the edge of your photo - it looks stretched out - I really didnt like that). I took pictures with at wide angle with different cameras and I have never seen this happening on any photos. Battery life is not so great. It is really weird. Battery didnt last me too long on a full charge.

I bought this for my 15 year old to use in her photography class. We are a Canon family so while she looked at other brands, we all felt 'safer' sticking with a Canon. (I had bought a water-resistant Fuji last year and think the photos turn out so-so). She needs to be able to change the various settings (shutter speeds, lighting) and her point-and-shoot pink camera wasn't cutting it. She loves this camera and is able to do more with her photography class assignments.This past weekend, I seemed to misplace my own Canon camera and wanted to take photos at her dance competition so I borrowed her camera (she was dancing, she didn't need it). Luckily, I carry a big ol' handbag as the camera, while lightweight thanks to the plastic case, is rather large. I loved that there's a button specifically to turn on the flash as flash photography isn't allowed. On my own misplaced camera, you have to go to a couple of clicks to turn it off.I took photos from about 100 feet away, in a darkened room, of her dancing on stage. On my camera, the photos would have turned out blurry and dark - basically un-usable. With her Canon, I got great photos and I was using the AUTO setting. I'm sure I could have captured the moving dancers better if I selected one of the 32 settings or even better went into manual mode.Now I'm looking for a replacement camera for myself since I can't find mine and since the camera technology has obviously improved.So why 4 stars and why am I not buying this one? I would like something smaller that 1) I could keep in my jean pocket or a jacket pocket; 2) I don't need all those manual stop features as I don't know how to use them and, 3) this camera takes 2 AA-batteries. I prefer rechargeable ones. We did overcome the latter objection thanks to another review that recommended Sony Eneloops which are rechargeable batteries.

Pretty good adapter for the price.. I am pretty sure it is 100% constructed of metal, no plastic what so ever.. It is on the heavy side though. That being said, if you plan on using a telephoto lens, I would invest know a tripod attacthment for your lens.

The Canon SX 150 is a brilliant camera. It has a macro mode of 1cm so you can get clear close ups of flowers and bugs. The zoom lens is a 12* optical zoom and combined with the digital zoom, it goes up to *48. I took some photos of Megadeth at Brixton and we were right up in the balcony...the photos came out clear, bright and it was if we were standing right by the band.
The longest exposure time is 15 seconds, so night sky photos of stars come out lovely. The minimum shutter speed is 1/2500 of a second, which is good for fast moving shots. There are many fun features, such as miniature mode, fish eye and selective colour.
The Canon SX 150 is a solid, heavy camera and will fit into a deep pocket but a bag would be better for it. It takes AA batteries, which I liked because they are easy to come by and reasonably priced. I took about 50 snaps and a minute of video with the batteries that came with the camera, before they ran out. You do really need rechargeable batteries for a powerful camera like this one.
The only tiny complaint I have is that the Canon SX 150 doesn't come with any internal memory at all, so you can't do anything with it unless you buy an SD card. I already had one from my old camera, so I was OK but this is something to consider when you buy it.
Overall though, this is a really good camera and well worth the price :)

We have now had this camera for over a year, and we're very pleased with the product. We wanted a camera to take with us while hiking that was powerful enough to capture excellent images but not so huge that it required its own bag. This has certain fulfilled our needs. If I remember correctly, several reviewers complained about the battery life. That has not been an issue for us. The camera generally takes very sharp photos, and we rarely use the flash at all (which I think is probably part of the reason why we're not experiencing extreme battery drain). I highly recommend trying out the camera without the flash and only using it when absolutely necessary. My husband likes to take extreme closeups of plant life while we hike, and we have had great results. I would gladly recommend this camera to anyone shopping in this category.

The S110 is a better value, but the improvement in software in the S120 makes an incrementally better photo and video. The wifi connection to my iPad is so complicated I have yet to succeed, but reading the memory card directly in a MacBook Pro is easy and a mini USB cable also works easily.

I bought this camera after my Nikon point and shoot went on the fritz. I went back to the Canon because they take great concert pictures. Not only does this camera work great in dim lighting but it has great zoom abilities. That makes it the perfect camera for rock concerts. The camera also stabilizes your shot even if your hands shake a little. There are no bad pictures with this camera!The camera uses regular batteries which I prefer because charging a battery slows you down. If you're on the go, stock up on some batteries and go. No worries about having to plug the battery in and wait until you have a full charge to shoot.Even better, the price is super reasonable. You cannot get a name brand camera for this price anywhere!

Great camera if you hold it as firm as possible. It must be made to be placed on a tripod. The pictures are blurry if you don't hold it tight and don't breathe. I don't know if my husband will ever be able to take a good picture using it.. I guess he will have to use my other camera which is a Canon Power Shot SX 130. I bought this SX 160 so we will have two cameras with us when we go to Alaska this summer.

too bad they stopped making this model - easy to use and takes wonderfully defined photos. It's also a nice size -not so small you have to hold it with a couple of fingers, it fits in the hand nicely. And it uses AA batteries.

I bought it as a gift, but then I found out the person had just got a new camera, so the camera I bought is still in it's shipping box unopened. It being a camera I have no use for so I can't give it a rating.

The lens cap fits perfect on the canon powershot sx20. I thought it might be too small when it got here but if is perfect. The only thing is that there is no sensor on the camera to let me know that I have the camera lens cap on. I will have to pay attention to that.

This was a panic buy when I discovered my charger was missing. With some trepidation I ordered this, previous "canon" batteries have been rubbish and had to be returned. This charger has been great. Took it all over india and it charged quickly and never let me down. Very pleased with the product. I would recommend.

This camera had everything I was looking for: separate date/time battery; 16x zoom; separate flash w/choice of using or not;and other features I was looking for. I like it, but that's my opinion.

This is just what I was looking for. Professional quality photos with just the push of a button! Amazing photos have come from this camera. I am far from a pro but you couldn't tell from the fantastic photos I've been able to take! Thank you Cannon for delivering once again! One great camera!!!!

These cameras eat AA batteries for lunch... I know that, and I expected that. But... rechargeable AA batteries are easy to get and not very expensive... so I keep about 6 with me when I go on photography trips. Additionally... unlike cameras with a proprietary battery pack... if my batteries are dead... I can hit any local store for regular ones and keep shooting... something you can not do with a fancy battery pack.The zoom in incredible to say the least... and FAST. I have the Canon SX130 IS, and purchased this one for a friend... now I'm jealous! The zoom is smoother, faster, and doesn't record the noise as did the 130. The images are crisp, and the detail at 12MP is superb. I find the camera to be a good weight and size and very easy to use. Plus... there are many special effects and filters built in.It has a PROGRAM mode where you can set the exposure, manual focus, etc... so you can do things that were formally in the realm of a $400 plus camera. I'm very happy with it.I only wish it had the capability to install a filter such as a polarizing filter... so for that I gave it a 4 out of 5.

This camera works great. I took it with me overseas to keep a photo diary. I love that I have been able to take close ups of the moon (64x). The only issue is the stabilization. But I am going to try a tripod to see if this helps. Overall for the price I paid its been a good camera.

We ordered this camera the day it came out. Of course they lowered the price $20 two days later, but it is still a very good value for what you get. This camera is replacing a Sony Cybershot that also was a 12MB camera. The reason we decided to go with this camera is because we found that having a good camera and a separate camcorder was becoming cumbersome. This camera gives you an all-in-one advantage as it is a good quality point and shoot camera as well as an HD video camera and it is rugged and waterproof. I also recommend getting a Sandisk Extreme Card for this camera because those cards have the speed to handle Full HD video. We went with the 32GB version just to make sure we had plenty of space. Also buy extra batteries!! You can also find an inexpensive (under $4) HDMI Mini to HDMI cable to hook this camera up directly to your TV to showcase your HD footage.If you are looking for a very high quality camera, you will never get that in a point and shoot which this is. If you are looking for good quality pictures, this camera will meet those needs. If you are looking to shoot an academy award winning movie, once again this is not the right choice for you. This camera is for the everyday user that wants to have good pictures and HD video in one place. This is perfect for families and it can go in the pool, to the beach, and can still be handled by a toddler as it can handle some abuse. You can get a much better camera (with 20x+ optical zoom versus 5x) for the same price without the waterproof feature so make sure that is what you are looking for. Being able to take it anywhere was our number one feature.Features we loved:--Waterproof and Rugged--Full HD Video (also allows you to zoom while recording which most cameras do not allow)--Has a good look to it (some of the competitors have a very boxy look)Features that could have been done better (why it is 4 stars instead of 5):--The camera has a place for the strap on the left side. They intended that to be for the shoulder strap, but the screw in handle strap attachment made for the lower right side is very awkward. In other words, I have always had my camera strapped to my right hand and now I need to get used to strapping it to my left hand. They should have had a built it strap loop on each side.--They put the on/off button, picture taking button, and playback button lined up all on the top side of the camera. Be prepared to line up that perfect shot, but miss it because you hit the playback button instead of the picture taking button. The playback button should have been on the back side of the camera.--The camera is quite big for a point and shoot. It does not bother me, but this is not going to fit into a tiny purse or your back pocket.
