I've had no issues with this adapter. It solidly attaches to my A7R and the design well-matches my Rokkor lenses. No issues with light leaks. I couldn't imagine any benefits to an adapter costing a penny more than this.

Simple product, works great paired with my Minolta MD lens. I would definitely buy more if the need for additional ones comes up.

The only con is it doesn't come with a rear lens cap so I can't keep it mated to my lens because I don't have a spare cap.

I have owned this camera since spring 2008. I mainly wanted a camera with image stabilizer with decent zoom. I mainly use it for everyday pics and for concert settings. I needed something that does well in lowlight settings. With flash I'd say 80% of the pics are very clear in a lowlight setting. Without flash I'd say it drops down to about 60%.

The video is decent. There is some noise when taking video at such a place as a concert. Especially when watching on the camera itself. On a computer the video sounds much better and the picture quality is pretty clear. But don't try zooming while shooting the video. It will blur the picture. Also I find sometimes the video will blur while taking even not zooming. It's really a 50/50 shot.

The zoom is pretty good. I can be about halfway back in a concert crowd in a small venue and still get good pics. But don't try going beyond the 4x zoom into digital. It will blur the farther off the 4x you go.

I love the big LCD screen, definitely a huge plus.

Love the AA battery. I hate non standard batteries. I've had friends who their cameras have run out of battery life in the middle of a concert. So replaceable batteries are a must. I guess it really doesn't have good battery life. I can't give an estimate but I probably had to change the batteries at least once during a concert (which includes taking pictures earlier in the day as it's usually a road trip to the show). But it never really bothered me. I just carried a couple extra spares.

I can't comment on the different settings, as I only ever used auto and video modes. They worked well enough for me.

The flash will take a minute to recharge between pics. This can be annoying, especially at a concert (or I would assume when trying to capture children). You have to hold the flash down for a couple seconds before it takes the pic. Between pics also takes a couple seconds. The screen will go black until it's ready for the next pic.

The camera is a nice size. Not huge and bulky, but not very small either. For me it's a perfect size. I will miss this camera as it's served it's purpose quite well for my average uses.

A couple problems I've had. I'd say a little over 2 years or so after I bought it the battery compartment wouldn't shut all the way. I had to put a hairband around it to keep the battery compartment closed. But it still didn't close completely, resulting in a low battery warning all the time. Finally, my camera has hit its end. It will no longer even stay on for more than a couple minutes. Even with fully charged batteries. and just about a week ago my flash stopped working.

I must admit I am hard on cameras. This one has been in my purse, in my pocket at shows, has been dropped, etc. So for the abuse it has taken I think it's lasted a good length of time.

Honestly for the price, I wouldn't buy it. I got mine for $160 four years ago at a local retail store. It was on sale at the time and was originally $250. I can't believe how much the price is now for such an old model. I really wouldn't spend the money and buying a used one would be just as bad, as with my experience the more it's used the less it'll last and you'll end up having to buy another camera a year or 2 later.

If you can find it new for no more than $180 then I'd say that's a decent deal. But when I saw over $400 here I was flabbergasted.

was worried about finding a decent quality card for the older Canon. this buy wiped out that concern.

I bought Canon Power Shot N to take on my vacation in a few months. Having tried it for few days I have second thoughts on it and planning to return it.Pros: Slim and handy design, reasonable picture quality comparable with new smart phones. The flip display and touch screen are good features. Zoom and shutter rings around the lens are cool. Good zoom range (8x optical) with indication of optical and digital. Flip display and touch screen are useful features.Cons: Flip display moves only 90 degrees and not suitable for selfees. My main complain is its user interface. Despite the touch screen the navigation is very badly designed and has very poor usability. Many issues are annoying and some are painful. Even the printed ‘Getting Started Guide’ is poorly done.Multi-photo ‘creative shots’ feature is useless in my opinion. Very few people will use it and even then only a few times just to tryout. You have 5 pictures to delete every time you take a picture. A true multipicture feature would have been useful instead of camera deciding on parts of the scene to capture. Strangely this apparently useless feature is selected with a dedicated hardware mode switch. However, a useful feature such as slow-motion video is the last selection on the menu. Slow motion performance is nowhere near iPhone 5s. Very poor stabilization of videos and cannot recommend it for taking any videos. Shutter ring and the zoom ring are very close and one may shutter inadvertently while trying to zoom.Nice leather looking long carry strap, only if you like to carry this tiny camera like a ladies handbag.Note that the camera does not come with any memory at all and you need to buy a micro SD separately before you can even try the camera.

I have been using this for years now and was just asked to review it. Love it, use it on vacations and for grandkids and even video of sailboat racing. Not waterproof but if used carefully on a boat no issues. Love the viewfinder and regular screen for aim and shoot.

This is a great camera. It doesn't get much use today though because of the quality of phone and tablet photos. This camera in its case is not as convenient now as it was when I bought it. A good mobile phone is quicker and easier to use, and, in many cases, snaps a better picture.

The sensor size is 1/2.3 inch CMOS-type, which is standard for cameras of its class.It does not have a viewfinder, which, again, many in its class don't. The ISO rating, which is the gauge for how well it does in low light, is 3200. That rating is sufficient for most purposes. The video is a Full HD- that is 1980x1080 resolution. I was desperate to find a quality camera which didn't rely on a screen for view finding. This one has a proper view finder capable of giving the photographer an accurate view under all conditions. I cannot understand why camera users tolerate screen-only view finding; it is terrible on bright days. This camera may be a dinosaur in the age of smart phones, but it is far better not just for the view finder, but because it stored pix on a smart card which can be removed for transfer of pix to computer or one's own or a store's printer.

I originally bought this camera in January, '06 for around $350. It's very easy to use and takes great pictures even in Auto. There are options for anything from total control to no control, just like all the Powershot cameras I've seen. I really love the size and the swivel display. It's much easier than my DSLR setup and better shots than my iPhone (because of the photo options, f-stops, etc).
I'd accidentally given mine away a couple months ago. Went online to see the price was now $699! Then found a used one through Amazon in perfect shape for $100! In my pocket it goes!

This claims to be a Neewer mount adapter but when my product came in it is labeled as a FOTGA adapter, this is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.Does the job sits flesh up against the A6000. No problems with it. Does the job but it is not a Neewer lens mount like it claims to be.

I have an older camera and could not find a memory card that would work in my camera. I realized that the new cards do not work in older camera's. Was very happy to see this on Amazon. It works perfect.

I bought this exact camera from Amazon in July 2009, and have been so pleased with it. I still have a lot to learn, but the basic taking of pictures is easy, and results are perfect. It works as well today as it did 6 years ago. Just proves, if it ain't broke - don't fix it.

While this does exactly what it's supposed to do, I have real problem in that it does not lock in place on my Sony MD camera. Because of this, it's easy for this to actually detach from the camera body (which is has) and fall off, exposing the delicate image chip to outside influences. I would NOT buy this item or recommend it to anyone.

I have owned this camera for over 2 years now and I still can't get over the main strengths of this camera - the 1080P HD video and high-end audio quality. Since that time, I have tried numerous point and shoot cameras, as well as dedicated camcorders, for the primary use of recording HD video. To this date, I have still not found a camera that has surpassed the Canon SX1 IS in terms of both video (in good light) and audio quality (especially recording bass at concert-level volumes). This includes digital cameras such as the Panasonic DMC-TS3, Sony DSC-TX10 and the DSC-HX9V, and even the high-end Canon HV30 and HF G10 camcorders. The overall quality of the video and audio captures are so good that you forget that this is primarily a stills camera than a camcorder. I have never been impressed with either AVCHD or mp4 formats when compared to the less-compressed .mov format that this camera uses. The quality even exceeds that of my tape-based HV30, which is a feat in itself considering that this has been a reference-level camcorder for consumers. I think Canon primarily designed this camera to be used as an HD camcorder, considering that the fully-articulating LCD display is natively 16:9 aspect ratio like many HD camcorders. However, the big negatives about this camera that I've experienced over the years are its short battery life (uses 4-AA's) and its relatively heavy weight and large non-pocketable size (size does matter, especially for heavy traveling). I have tried to overcome the short battery life issue using high-capacity (up to 3000 mAH) rechargeable AA batteries, but still falls way short of a good high-capacity lithium battery. The other negative is its performance in low light compared to the newer cameras that I've used. I have tried to find a smaller and lighter replacement for this camera that improves upon these weaknesses, but I still have not found any to date that are equal or better than the strengths of the SX1 IS. One more thing about the audio - it's so good that when I play footage back on my high-end Yamaha home theater system using Definitive Technology tower speakers, it feels as if you really are there. No other camera that I've tried has been able to accomplish this to the same level of sonic accuracy. The built-in stereo mic's are so good that they rival some of the best external consumer microphones (I also own the Rode VideoMic for my camcorders). I suspect that the reason why dedicated HD camcorders today do not use the .mov format and use the highly compressed AVCHD and mp4 is to save on memory usage and battery consumption at the expense of image and sound quality. This camera records audio with uncompressed linear PCM stereo which is non-existent in the current crop of consumer camcorders (as of 2/2012). I have given many negative reviews on them because it appears that none of the consumer camcorder manufacturers (including Canon) seem to put any emphasis on sound quality as well as the SX1 IS did. When I spent over $1500 on the Canon HF G10, I never expected the audio to sound so poor in comparison with the SX1 IS. This has become a reference camera since that time. In addition, being able to record in full 1080P at 30 fps that is not available in the 1080P, 24 fps Canon SX40, is a definite plus. I still think this camera is the most underrated and best kept secret that Canon has ever manufactured, especially at the consumer level when it comes to outstanding audio reproduction. No need to even have a dedicated PCM recorder to record outstanding audio. It is just that good.

Update: 4/26/14 - Over the years since I purchased this camera, the more I learned about succeeding codecs which I found to be inferior to the the .mov codec used in this camera. The AVCHD codec used in most video cameras today is a clearly inferior format due to the aggressive compression standards that are not used in the SX1 IS. In addition, the AVCHD codec does not allow for the use of LPCM audio, which results in poor quality audio. This camera was probably the biggest sleeper because it offered superior video and audio quality compared to many HD video cameras today. I own the Panasonic GH3, but the poor built-in mic's spoil the very good LPCM internal audio recorder which cannot be utilized without a good external mic like the Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro. This camera has great built-in mic's. If it were not for the poor low light performance and the inability to take still captures while shooting video without interruption, this would still be my go-to camera today.

The adapter is all metal and works as expected. The lenses fit well without light leaks and they seat with out excessive force.

Bought this to replace a lost Canon lens cap, and I like it better than the original because it has deeper finger indentations than the factory original, and it has the tether to keep it from getting lost. The one I received is slightly different than pictured, but I like what I received better than what is pictured because of the differences. The manufacture is at least as high or better than the Canon original, but it has no Canon logo, which suits me fine. If I had a choice between the Canon factory original or this replacement, I'd take this replacement over the original. It seems to attach and detach more easily than the original, and the tether is a winner. Altogether satisfied.

The battery was allowed to fully charge before putting it into use and does not maintain a charge between uses. The camera is not used very often, or for very long; only when one or two photos are necessary. After 1-2 weeks sitting idle, the battery low charge symbol flashes, as it did with the older battery that needed replacing.

It is an excellent camera, I have used for several years and has allowed me to capture great photographs, is small and easy to carry not only at the time of any outflow but for trips and outings.

I have a whole slew of wonderful, coloriscious old Minolta, tack sharp Kiron and stellar Canon glass from the 60's- 90's that I often thought about putting up on fleabay, and I am SO glad I was too lazy. My old 40 1.8 is back in action and as gorgeous now as it was back in the film days. my 58 1.2 is resurrected as well, and just as magical as I remembered it to be. The old glass on an a7R lends a pronounced 'feel' to the image, and I'm quickly getting to the point where I can tell which lens I used after the fact just by the character of the picture. Not all the old lenses have sufficient resolution to really push the sensor, but many have such exceptional color and charming anomalies that they may, finally, get worn out. To replace my whole bag of old glass with modern new iterations would be astronomically expensive. For a few dollars, you can get the charm of the old and implement it with the tech of today and make images that are TRULY distinctive and spectacular and maybe more importantly, FUN again. This adapter fits VERY well, mounts easily and snugs down solidly with no wobble or gaps. I'll eventually just buy more and leave them on the lenses to cut swap time, and be very happy to spend a few dollars to reincarnate all my old friends.

The A630 has a bigger screen.

Doesn't quiiiite focus to infinity, but it does focus several miles away, so unless you're taking photos of the moon, it's fine. Super solid and well built, fits perfect. Can't go wrong with the price.

I own a camera identical to this one that was purchased new (from a different retailer) and it is fabulous. However, this one was purchased used and the quality is not the same. The image stabilization does not work correctly and the picture quality is not good. When I wrote to the seller about this he/she basically accused me of dropping it and trying to get a refund. I have gotten NOTHING in return. Do not do business with this seller!
