Great for concerts, with the amazing long lense. Handy to use, much lighter than a Dslr. Easy to carry and easy on batteries.

I had done a lot of research, especially at dpreview.com, for small cameras with superior quality (for the record, I own a Nikon D7000 body with an 18-200 lens and a couple of primes, so no newbie to photo). This camera delivers outstanding photos for its size, in all kinds of lights. It's also very solidly built, and it comes with plenty of options for manual control.

what you see in the veiwfinder in close up shots does not equal what you get in your file....by a long shot. low light video is very poor.

At first I thought about sending it back. But as I use it the pictures are better than on my iphone. Also it zooms and does macro. I think the picture quality is good but not on par with my G 12 or G 15, but than her give this little guy a break. I have not tried the wi fi yet but intend to use it for my facebook,etc soon. The one thing that irritates me is that if you touch it near the program icon it sometimes changes to the screen where you select what program you want. I have used the touch screen to snap photos but it doesn't seem to show a green frame when you do so I prefer to go the more traditional route. I did take a quick film and it came out well. Won't replace my main cameras for more serious photography.

Camera arrived ahead of schedule and as far as I can tell it is a brand new UK spec as advertised. I haven't used it a great deal yet but the results so far are excellent. It might be slightly larger than most compact cameras but it's also far better than most, has a greater degree of adjustability (but still has excellent auto features for those who don't want to mess with apertures and shutter speeds) and still fits in your pocket. It's a take anywhere, anytime camera and at just under £80 it's an absolute bargain.

The only drawback is that compared to my small previous Canon there is no small window on the top tom see through clear glass as with the old, as in bright sunlight when you look a5t the led screen you can only see your own reflection so its impossible to align or focus the subject correctly until the sun goes into a cloud, its nigh impossible to hold your hand over the scree and hold the camera with the other, otherwise I am pleased with the results so far

While the picture quality on this camera is excellent, we simply can't afford the batteries to keep it running. Turning off the viewer screen does not help. We've tried testing the batteries before putting them in and after taking them out, and brand new fully charged batteries will be completely killed in minutes in this camera.

I was always torn when traveling between taking my DSLR (Nikon D300) and my compact Canon SD790. The compact camera took decent pictures and was so much easier to travel with than lugging the DSLR and lenses. But I was always frustrated with the lack of control of the compact. There were many times where the camera could not get the shot I wanted because its manual controls were very limited.The G15 fixed this problem. This camera is small and light enough to make it easy to carry and it gives me the ability to control its operation. I was surprised to find that it even can do balanced fill flash! It does exactly what I needed and I did not regret leaving the the DSLR at home.

Just what I Wanted ~ This was a replacement to an older version & it has real batteries that you can change.You can be away from electricity and take pics to your hearts content. Excellent product for those quick shots.

I bought this camera for the lens and image quality but I have to say after a week of shooting with this camera I just can't seem to get a high end shot. Maybe it is not made for photographing sunsets or other forms of manual mode type of pictures. I just could not get a good shot of a sunset with this camera over the last few days of having great weather around here. My Panasonic Lumix FZ200 does 10x better and it was a few bucks more. I took photos with my other cameras and got better results. I can't justify keeping around a $450 point and shoot.I really wanted to keep this camera, the build quality is amazing, it is like a brick in your hands which is what i like in a camera, kind of like to feel like it's quality and not plastic.The few pics i took around the house with people came out pretty good but I or the camera kept overexposing the photo, the whites were so bright and I didn't mess with the exposure compensation or anything else. I even tried Intelligent Auto mode and same thing. Weird. I mean the pics were nice but overly bright, nothing some post processing couldn't fix but geez you would think you wouldn't have to edit every pic.ANyway maybe I was doing something wrong with this camera and someone can help me here. Right now it's in the box ready to go back.

I FOUND THAT THIS ITEM IS TO LIGHT WEIGHT FOR UNEVEN GROUND. IT DID NOT COME WITH INSTRUCTION BOOKLET SO NATURALLY I BROKE IT TRYING TO OPEN IT. I AM A NOVIS SO I NEED DIRECTION. ALSO IT WAS SUPPOSED TO COME WITH A CLEANING CLOTH BUT I DID NOT SEE IT.I GUESS I SHOULD OF RESEARCHED A LITTLE MORE BEFORE I PURCHASED THIS ITEM. I GUESS I WILL JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT.

We bought this camera as a gift for our youngest daughter. She found it easy to use and is now taking a beginner camera class. This camera has many of the same features as our much more expensive Cannon Rebel camera!

This is a great little camera with a fantastic zoom feature. Like all Cannons it runs very well. It does go thru batteries however.

This is a fabulous camera! It was shipped very quickly. The camera is light and takes amazing pictures. I normally use an SLR camera--I find this little baby takes pictures as well and in some cases, even better than my SLR. It has amazing functionality and is very intuitive. Highly Recommend!

This camera takes terrific photos of people and scenery. My only objection is not being able to see what I'm shooting in bright sun light and wish the cameras with eye pieces weren't so heavy and cumbersome. And I love having a different colored camera so it doesn't get picked up by someone else by mistake when I'm on a trip.

Very happy I got it before my trip. Image's quality is very sharp, same when shooting videos. Loved the filters and compositions she can create when in Multiple Shoot function, my best pictures are probably those with no effort.

I love canon cameras. Had lots of their SLRs over the years but decided to sell my gear and get something that I don't have to carry extra lenses etc. this is a nice size and takes good shots but when you turn it on its so easy to touch the self timer button on the control wheel which drives me nuts hence the three stars
