I purchased mine at BestBuy. I also owned a previous PowerShot.
I have owned three Canon Powershot cameras. Two of these lasted for the warranty period, and then returned lens errors. The third was not used much because of the tilted and inferior images.
Canon refuses to acknowledge the lens error problem (check the forums) and will charge over $150 to repair. They always claim that the problem is abuse by the owner. A camera repairman told me the problem is almost always a faulty sensor. Worse, I recommended the camera to friend - who now has the same issue: Lens Error, which make the camera unusable. I believe the upper-end SLR cameras are still good, but the Powershot series has had a problem.
I love the camera menu and layout better than Nikon. However, Nikon has remained dependable for me. After multiple Powershot lens errors without support from Canon, I don't dare buy another. My first Powershot took super-great pictures, my second took very poor pictures, and this camera took good pictures (not super, but good). I always use the more expensive professional-type SD cards. To follow Canon's response, this camera is not capable of regular use (fragile). I would like to know if anyone has had a similar problem with the latest Powershot product... I really like the look & feel, but I need something dependable.

The lens hood when securely screwed into the adapter for the standard 16-50mm lens on an a6000 has the longer extensions on either side of the lens, which actually blocks a portion of the photo frame at the wide angle end of the zoom range. The longer extensions should be aligned at the top and bottom of the lens, but there is no way to do that without partially unscrewing the adapter and hood from the lens.
The pinch lens cap I received didn't fit anything--not the 16-60 lens, or the outer rim of the lens hood.

I specifically sought out a brand of Camera that would accept my many Minolta lens and filter's. I was more than over joyed when I got my new Sony a6000 and was able to use my 200mm telephoto lens on my new camera ,thanks to this adapter ring. I have used it successfully a few dozen times with great success, thank you for the great product

I love this little camera. A really old model, but it still takes great shots. Easy to use. Love the swivel display. On my third one. Bought the last two used and they were in really good shape.

The camera lens doesn't fit the Powershot SX50 HS . It is off by about 1 mm so it isn't functional for the camera.

I bought this camera brand new back in 2007 for $325, it came bundled with a nice leather case and a few extra goodies. Eight years later it's still going strong. I'm very impressed with the photo quality, just leave it in "auto" mode and it'll do the job. With 21 different shooting modes you really have a lot of shooting options. The adjustable screen really comes in handy when you have a "tight shot", or just fun experimenting with different angles. The video quality however isn't anything to write home about, it's just OK, but for an eight year old camera it's reasonable. Overall a great camera and really can't beat it for the price.

the only reason I'm not giving this powerhouse 5 stars is because the ability to attach a remote shutter release. Not only is it extremely versatile, its sturdy, which is perfect for a klutz like me!

I still have this camera to this day I just can't really part with it it was a special limited edition model as far as I can tell the regular additions are are ready up to five different models and I can't see that they've improved that much from this special edition it was the first to use the CMOS sensor in the series one of the only ones that I know of to have a fitting widescreen viewscreen and back and unlike its new were additions of the series it doesn't go crazy with the zoom to the extent of were the lens loses a f-stop dual stereo speakers an inch or two apart from each other a about one shot per second shutter speed not using any of the special modes one of the best things about this camera is it and it's most of its brothers and sisters to this day that I know of has a hot shoe on it which you can run a mid range hot shoe flash quite efficiently taking shot every second to every second and a half light sensitivity and newer models may have gone up but the picture quality is not improved that much effort at all more megapixels just a few levels up from this model but still sacrificing the lens and some of the nicer features I still believe this is also the fasted state repetitive shutter speed of any of the models that have come out so far even though others improvements with newer processors and rechargeable batteries they seem to be holding this series like most other Canon series behind to not over shadow their higher price more professional cameras
A good camera for someone who wants to dip their toe in a slight experience of the DSLR feel or just doesn't want to carry the DSLR heavy suitable lenses around not a very good low light camera if you're looking for something in the same price range looked towards their powershot GX 1 which I believe is also a limited edition model that they probably will not come out with a second advanced model for and to be worn that model also has a very very slow recycling shutter speed time much slower than this model and for some reason when you put a flash on the hot shoe it takes four times as long to recycle from shutter shutter and also process to the memory card.
when the most disappointing things of this camera was that it was just one size off her so very difficult to find a UV filter lens to project the actual on camera glass lens along with finding a more improved lens cap for it.
But all in all I've got some very good flash photography burlesque variety shows photographs up close with this camera it's just too bad that they have not advanced as some of the other companies have and this type of midrange super zoom.

The camera I received was silver in color, and I thought it would be black since the picture indicates a black camera. Also the body had some scratches on it, which it would have been nice to have been mentioned in the description.

fits good on my Cannon camera. Wasn't sure it would since it's not an original. The string is long enough to attach to the neck strap, but not too long to get in the way.

Seems to be pretty good product. Solid (a little heavy)
I can't seem to work out how to calibrate it for the batteries though. A totally flat battery shows 90% charge initially and goes to 100% over 2-3 hours.. Seems to be fully charged once 100% is reached but I'd have liked to see the percentage charge go from 0% - 100%

I bought it for my 16-50 mm kit lens for my Sony Alpha 6000. I found it not too easy to mount & I don't think it has been a 100% perfect fit for this lens. What's more disappointing is that neither the original Sony kit lens cap nor the lens cap which is a part of this Lens hood set can be used once the Lens hood is mounted.
However, considering the throw away price of $7, you may want to give it a try.. Some buyers have been happy with the product despite its limitations.. Some (if not all) have found that the hood fits their lenses well..

Cheap and charges my Nikon P7100 battery fine (about 1hr from dead). Only reason not 5 stars is that the charger is not the same as shown in the photos and has an external power brick (god I hate them). Still comes with cigarette socket cable for charging in the car.

Great additon to the AW130. Now I can charge a spare battery and keep it handy for long trips. Does away with the need to use the Nikon charger with the battery inside the camera. Car charger is good added benefit for travelling.

Even though it's very inexpensive, I would expect that it would line up correctly. The lens hood does not align to the lens. This may be a fault of the adapter ring or the hood but it I have to constantly check to make sure the hood does not intrude into my photos.

I have had this camera for a few years, going on at least three, maybe four. I bought it at a serious bargain: $180 or so from an online discount warehouse.
Anyway, this camera is heavy and big. It won't fit in your pocket, and you have to be careful handing it to someone else, because if they don't get a good grip it'll fall out of their hand.
I love this camera with a passion. It's:
*Durable. I have an attic bedroom and sat it on my railing, then bumped it down my stairs. It fell 12 feet and bounced. It looked a little banged up, but works 100%. This was about 6 months ago. The shutter now refuses to shut all the way on occasion, and sometimes the videos will appear blurry. That's the only damage, and a stop and start of the recording will fix that.
*High quality video and picture. I'm not a professional photographer, I'm a teenage girl. The appeal for me was that 8 mega pixels sounded really sharp, and i was right.
*The effects are quite flexible, and i loved experimenting with the drastic and subtle changes allowed in the "program" function of the camera. My favorite is probably the portrait setting, although the color swap and color accent are really cool too.
*It should be noted that this camera burns through batteries like c r a z y. I had it for a month and decided it would be best to buy some rechargeable batteries. So i bought 8 AA batteries and a charger from Radioshack. Now i always have another set charged and ready when i've burned through my current set. For this, I don't even consider the short battery life for the camera to be a con.
*Reliable: this camera gives minimal technical difficulty. It's not 100% on picture taking response. You'll have to hold down the button for a few seconds, even without the flash being turned on. I haven't used a camera that didn't behave this way, and there are ways to increase the response speed, but i've never been impressed with it. It's also gotten slower this past year: a sad sign that it might be wearing down.
*the video is SPECTACULAR. I've used camcorders with worse quality. I make instructional piano Youtube videos that require distinct details to be visible, and this camera never lets me down. On occasion, after the drop, i've had to stop and start a video that was too blurry, but the second time comes crystal clear, so this isn't a big deal to me. The camera gives you the option to choose how detailed your videos will be. Less detail=more memory space, as higher quality videos will require more space. But it's 2011, and we all knew that, right?
I always get compliments about the videos i take with it. "Oo, whose camera is this? It's so clear/colorful," things to that effect.
Besides taping my piano videos, I used to use this camera to record myself and my friends at gymnastics meets. This is where the option to edit and freeze-frame on the go is a must. There might be an additional 30 seconds on a video, and a limited memory card means that 30 seconds has gotta go. So "set" button>edit>edit beginning>save, and now you have that much more flexibility in your recordings for the rest of the day. The camera on its default settings allowed me to watch routines frame by frame, and i could see exactly how a trick was executed. Every once in a while, an appendage would be blurry due to exceptionally high speed, but it captures tumbling passes and the vault exercise with ease and accuracy, which goes to show you how detailed the video features are. Again, this is with the default settings, not even the advanced detail.
*Transfer to the computer is easy, but i'm not terribly knowledgeable about how advanced the features can be. I tend to dump everything, name my photos/videos, then format my memory card in the camera. I don't know what all it's capable of in this department. It's not always speedy, but that's because i am transferring large files. The speed is not unreasonable, but this is the only camera i've ever owned, so i can't compare transfer speeds in all fairness.
*I don't print my pictures, but they email just fine, and the high mega pixel count and clarity on-screen shows good promise for beautiful prints.
*This camera allows you to take successive photos, anywhere from 1 to 10 photos snapped automatically with a small delay in between. Great for goofing around. Dunno why else you'd want it, but i use it with my brother when we're bored. We do stop-motion skits ha ha!
*My FAVORITE feature is the wonderful flippy screen! It's not fragile, it's durable just like the rest of this sturdy, chunky camera. The screen allows you to see you taking your own picture. I can place my face where i want in the frame, though it's backwards (move to your left, the camera portrays you going right.). This is especially handy in two ways:
1) Taking pictures with multiple people without a freestanding photographe

Great replacement for my dying G7 battery. I only gave it a 4 because I have to fiddle it into the generic charger I also bought through Amazon to get a good contact. Installing it on the Canon G7 itself is not a problem; no terminal contact issues there. I'm not sure if it's the charger that's slightly out of Canon's specs, or if it's this battery. In spite of that, I still think it's great for the price. It made my hand-me-down Canon G7 100% usable again.

Partially my fault, because I was looking for a 40.5mm lens cap and thought that the other stuff came as a bonus. Keep in mind, the lens cap here is actually a 52mm lens cap... so you'd need to wear the adapter ring at all times just to use the lens cap.

Great camera and ended up giving it to my daughter. I wanted it to replace my old camera but it did not fit in the waterproof housing. Back to looking :-) She took a lot of pictures on it in Hawaii and never failed her once. Hope it last her a while but it was a great price for a camera and a great camera

The camera is amazing for video and photos. you can take photos with 14.1mp and you can zoom away in and the image is still really clear, the camera also has a flash built in which is good. the camera also records in two formats 720P and 480P both great qualities, the videos are great using the zoom using the lens but once you go to the digital zoom it gets blurry and shaky. the only bad thing about the camera is the battery life. after 15 minutes of recording with Duracell batteries it starts to show empty batteries other than this issue its great.

It is ok. Canon is a good brand, but I was hoping to get a camera that doesn't have such a long delay between shots, especially when using the flash. Next time I will pay more for a camera that can shutter, shutter, shutter.

Despite of the low price of this package, the dealer refunded the money after hearing that the hot shoe is not compatible with my a6000 camera and the lens cap rope is breaking at the end of the metal clip

At least this lens cap fits my Canon Powershot SX20 and the quality is OK. Neat feature is the strap to attach to the side of camera so that the cap always handy and cannot get misplaced.

Doesn't work. Tried everything. Green light comes on, doesn't flash like it says in manual and left charging for ages battery still dead. Have different brand ordered now.

First of all, I just want to say I am in no way experienced with photography, I am used to just taking pictures with my iPhone.
I went to get a cheap camera from a well known catalog retailer who I shall not mention for privacy reasons (although you know of course, that I'm talking about Argos,) as I just wanted a very basic camera to take with me to my birthday trip to the zoo.
Long story short, I came home less than an hour later feeling £70 lighter and brimming with all the excitement of a 6 year old on Christmas Eve.
I should also probably point out that I am in no way a responsible buyer. My entire research on this camera was the following;
- I like how Canon cameras look
- I have heard of Canon
- I quickly hit Amazon on my phone and read no more than 2 reviews and decided I'd give it a go!
2 months later and I am still in love with this thing.
I have learned a lot about photography in an effort to understand this, even the most basic of cameras.
To summarize, this camera has magnificent optical zoom, excellent stabilization, nice aesthetics (in my opinion,) very comfortable, enough options to suit most situations, and of course it is a Canon so you know it will be well made.
I merely have a couple of gripes about it. The camera when I bought it came with a pair of duracell batteries, and in my uncontrollable-fiddling with the camera after I had ripped it from its packaging, I'd say it was maybe 1h30 before the battery warning icon popped up on screen. I put it down to being dud batteries and went and bought an 8 pack of Energizer plus batteries (the blue and silver ones) and they also lasted no more than 2 hours of taking pictures.
I began to wonder if it was the camera itself, and so headed to Google where I found that it's one of the cameras' main problems. Still relentless in my quest to get some decent life out of it, I purchased some 2400maH capacity duracell rechargeables and stuck them in it.
Said batteries lasted an entire day of pictures at the zoo, followed by 2-3 days of me following my cat around his various activities trying to get him to strike a pose. I was finally content. I have since spent a few days at Manchester Airport and only had to recharge them once.
My other problem is that I find the images still to be a little noisy in most, if not all situations. That is of course a minor gripe though, as for the price I am very happy.
It's great for everything I can think of if you don't have the money or experience to get a Canon 60D for example, and I heartily recommend to you that you follow suit and spend your lovely pennies on this.
I'm sorry for the length and unhelpfulness of this review, I just felt that I had to share with you the bouncy excitement that this camera still gives me, I am so pleased with it that I am saving up for a DSLR, and I am certain it will be a Canon.

Said batteries lasted an entire day of pictures at the zoo, followed by 2-3 days of me following my cat around his various activities trying to get him to strike a pose. I was finally content. I have since spent a few days at Manchester Airport and only had to recharge them once.
My other problem is that I find the images still to be a little noisy in most, if not all situations. That is of course a minor gripe though, as for the price I am very happy.
It's great for everything I can think of if you don't have the money or experience to get a Canon 60D for example, and I heartily recommend to you that you follow suit and spend your lovely pennies on this.
I'm sorry for the length and unhelpfulness of this review, I just felt that I had to share with you the bouncy excitement that this camera still gives me, I am so pleased with it that I am saving up for a DSLR, and I am certain it will be a Canon.

The plate/adaptor works fine, so far, the fit in the charger and the battery in the plate are good. The plate is quite lightly made so I think care is needed when handling especially when changing for other plates.

Didn't last very long. Like many digital camera, it quit after about 2 years. Nice zoom while it worked. I have owned many canon cameras over the years and this was one of my worst digital cameras.

Bought this to keep in my caravan as my camera always seemed to run flat whilst we are away. Works well with the added avantage we can charge from the mains or plug it into the 12v outlet in the car.

I'm sorry to have to be so truthful about this camera since it started out much differently. My wife left this first one on the Mt. Washington train in New Hampshire and that's the last I saw of it. Having been a happy customer and familiar with this particular camera, I made the awful mistake of buying another. This one carries the traits of all the very worst reviews you can find here about the A1000IS to the exclusion of none. Even worse was the "suggestions" offered by the company regarding this 3 month old camera. They were extremely rude, condescending and patronizing. I will not be buying another Canon product again. Further I had a similar experience with a Canon printer regarding the purchase of a new printhead. They had them in stock to serve warranty purposes EVEN THOUGH there were none left "in warranty", and yet Canon solidly refused to sell one at any price. I, as a buying customer can exercise my right to NEVER again buy a Canon product, and this I've done to date and will continue to do so. Does it hurt them? Only a little bit, perhaps, but there IS some satisfaction in passing over anything in stores with a Canon label, and nudging prospective customers with a little "truth serum". I rest my case.. .

I got a raggity old beat up Cannon SX10IS Power Shot with a busted view finder and it still took far better pictures than my old Kodak 5MP digital camera. I went out in Downtown Towson, Maryland taking pictures of whatever I fancied and most of the pictures taken were beautiful. I took about 100 pictures with my Cannon SX10IS using full auto mode and the color, saturation and exposure was awesome. I am NOT a photographer at all. I am about as green as you can get when it comes to taking pictures but, I know a good quality digital image when I see one. I work in digital imaging on computers for people who have visual disabilities.
I love the pictures the Cannon SX10IS takes so much that I purchased 2 more newer nicer ones. It is almost impossible for me to take a bad picture with my Cannon SX10IS. The Cannon SX10IS is almost a point and shoot in its simplisticity. I took low light pictures in my home and they still look great. I do not doubt your skills as a photographer so you must have gotten a DAWG as a camera. Of 100 pictures I took with the Cannon SX10IS 70 of pictures are very good, 10 pictures are good. The leftover 20 or so pictures were all duds partly because; I'm not a skilled photographer. I had friends who ARE skilled PAID photographers who were astonished that I got such great prints out of a glorified point and shoot camera.
My knowledge of the camera is still quite primitive but my shot composition skills rock! The Cannon SX10IS auto focus lets me avoid all that shutter, iso and appeture crap and focus on my composition skills where i shine. Oh in time I'll buy a DSLR to learn the exposure triad but for now I want a glorified point and shoot and the Cannon SX10IS fits the bill nicely for me. Add that this camera takes AA batteries and its all good. I had the fujifilm camera with many of the same features and the pictures it took were grainy and horrid.

The good ole saying, "You get what you pay for" is certainly true. The camera didn't even turn on after changing multiple batteries and charging.We needed this camera for our schools orientation so I paid for expedited shipping and I was excited that it arrived very quickly. But to our department's disappointment it did not work!!!! Please don't advertise it again for re-sale because the next customer will suffer the same disapointment.

Was faulty when first purchased; also supplied two plates for LP-E6 battery rather than one for LP-E6 and one for LP-E6N as requested. Replaced quickly, saying faulty batch; plates not resupplied. But the replacement had the same fault - screen displays 180% when started, then goes blank. No response to request for further replacement or refund.

Do not buy this unless you want your lenst to fall off your camera. I have an a7ii and this adapter does not lock properly. you can just twist it right off which is not safe at all.

I have a Canon SX 400 IS. The ad said this lens cap would fit my camera. It didn't! Not at all! I'm very disappointed!

It's a little dodgy, but most of this is Sony's fault for not including a proper bayonet mount for a hood. The way Neewer has addressed this deficiency is to provide a plastic step-up ring that takes it from 40.5 to 52mm, so they can sell you the 52mm hood. IMPORTANT NOTE: you cannot use the pictured/included 52mm lends cap with the hood affixed; you must remove the hood and either use the 52mm cap with the step-up ring, or remove the entire assembly and use your own 40.5 cap.

Thing works like it's designed but the lens cover (rounded piece) doesn't fit the lens hood so it's really stupid. I had another issue where the ring got stuck to my lens and had to get some tools to take it off.

Good camera, one needs to follow the user guide to use it properly, there are so many things to do, there is manual mode. Megapixel and the optical zoom range are optimum, however wide angle could be bit wider. If still available I recommend this camera.

Nice charger, but my batteries do not fit in the charger as it says it fits the NP-BDI. May have to send it back, if the new batteries I also ordered do not fit as well, as they say thay should.
