This is my third Canon digital camera and my first waterproof camera. Takes great quality photos and HD video, controls & menus are easy to use and familiar if you have experience with other Canon cameras. Even if you don't use it underwater, it is great for taking pics around the water in general. Had it on a rafting trip and out on the boat so far, great to be able to jump in the water with it and snap photos while throwing the Frisbee around, etc. I highly recommend purchasing a float strap so it doesn't sink if you accidentally drop it.

Upgraded from S95 Canon. Came quickly, everything complete. I love the camera. I can quickly change where it focuses just by using my finger on the screen.

Had to buy a replacement charger as I lost mine while moving house. Quality is a little worse than the original that came with the camera but not enough to be a problem. Works perfectly.

For those ordering who like to record video you should know that the camera records in MOV/TMP format only. You may need to buy a program to convert movies once uploaded. Otherwise photo and picture quality is great, just as described.I have absolutely no complaints. My camera arrived in very secure packing. Also, I'd like to mention it arrived earlier than expected. I am more than please with my service from DataVision Computer Video!

I was very pleased with this camera and after 3 excellent years of using it it held out well and took really good photos.
The only bad thing about this camera is that to download the photos you have to take out the digital card from the camera and that weakens and eventually breaks the plastic hinge that holds it in.
This cover also holds the connection points for the batteries to the camera operating system.
So eventually (after a long time, in fact quite a few years.. 3-4 of continual usage) the cover does not close properly and as the same cover holds the batteries this results in the loss of connection of batteries to the camera so the camera does not work.
This cover finally broke and I stuck it together using strong carpet tape but that too did not work for long.
I had to purchase another camera and I made sure that this time i had a separate download lead sot his did not happen again.

I love this camera. I have the Canon Power Shot S5IS and also love it, but it's big and bulky when traveling. The SX160IS fits into my purse perfectly. The buttons are very similar to the S5IS, so I didn't have to learn much. And the picture quality is great. It's a little bigger than a lot of the "smaller" cameras but I find that makes it easier to hold and not move when taking pictures.

More than impressed with the camera. It's solid, takes great pics straight out of the box. That's what I wanted and what I got. Excellent seller. Package came wrapped up tight :)

Pictures are constantly blurry. Worst camera I ever had. I even paid more than I wanted to on this camera thinking it would be better, I should of stuck with a cheaper camera would of got better pictures. Very disappointed

This came before the due date. It was well packed as expected. Although made in China it looked just like the official Canon version. It was made of plastic as expected but was not as good as the Canon version however, it worked well and charged my battery when required.

forgot to sometime last year forgot to write my review on this batter. It worked and still works wonders, it great works in my battery pack for my dslr. the guys who sold it are great as well

I tried this new camera for the first time on a short vacation and was very pleased by the results, The zoom allows for some great close up shots, and the image stabilization feature avoids blur even when using the full zoom. The camera is lightweight and fits easily into my pants pocket. The only downside that I've found is that the AA batteries run down pretty quickly, especially when using the flash. I think this is a great camera for the casual photographer who wants professional-looking photos.

I am very pleased with this camera. It takes great low light photos, something non of my previous cameras did (and I've owned other Canons before and other brands that claimed they took great low light photos.). It's a little bigger than your average compact digital but worth it. It takes very nice photos. I love the viewfinder and the fact that you can take video with one push of a button on the back (it takes great video by the way). You don't have to fiddle with any dials to enter video mode. I don't mind the pop up flash at all (you have to manually put it up) because most times the camera can take a great picture even without the flash. The camera has a solid feel to it. Overall very please with this purchase.

I have had nothing but great success with Canon cameras but this camera eats AA batteries left and right. I wanted an up to date camera and this one was to fit the bill.... BUT trying to take clear pictures of my newborn child and catching those unforgettable moments are coming out blurry and it can't be relied upon for videos when it always says "battery low" or when using the flash when it says "charging battery" and the photo taking opportunity is gone! I thought the blurry pictures were because of me but when taking a video and staying real still and with brand new batteries installed, the video would go from clear to blurry to clear to blurry....for whatever reason, I don't know!!! I wish I could return it for a Canon camera (Powershot 12.1 megapixel) like my daughter's who has a rechargeable battery and excellent picture and video quality!

I was happy to see that I could replace my lost lens cap so affordably. The strap is a nice touch...if the original one had that, I wouldn't have lost it in the first place.

I don't do fancy nor professional photos, so I can not say how this camera would work for that. But for my purpose of everyday, family, party, or keep sake pictures, this camera takes great pictures!Due to some health problems and medications I take, I do not necessarily have a steady hand and the auto focus with the feature to counter the shake of my hand or my none steady grasp makes a world of difference. No more shot after shot of blurry pictures.It is also easy for my arthritic hands to hold. Not too thin to try to hold, but not too big and bulky to hold comfortably.Very easy to use camera all the way around! And good clear photos!

I bought this camera because I needed something that was easy to use, could easily fit in a purse or fanny pack without having a lens stick out, and had a viewfinder as well as an LCD view screen. I mainly use a camera as a hobby and taking pictures in my classroom. I needed a camera that I enjoyed using but other people could use as well without needing instructions. I brought this camera to school and asked a couple of people who work with me to take some pictures during a field trip. My previous camera had been difficult for other people to use and took too long between shots. After using the Canon G15 their comments were: It's so quick. It's so easy to use. I really like this. Wow! It's so simple. It's FAST! We all agreed that the camera was easy to take out of the bag, turn it on, take a picture (no lens cap to take on and off), and put back in the bag while still keeping a close, watchful eye on the students. Enough said.The Canon G15 is just slightly too large to fit comfortably in a pants pocket but it is small enough to easily fit in a coat pocket, small purse or fanny pack when traveling. No lens cap to worry about loosing. Ease of use, quality photos, and quick response time made the Canon G15 a winner for me.

This camera was purchased as a birthday gift to replace a 5 MP camera that was starting to have problems. It is easy to use and has the features that I was looking for. The camera it replaced was thinner and flat, which I liked since it easily fit in my pocket. In general, I like it at least as much as the previous camera.

We went to Hawaii and did alot of snorkeling. This camera captured exactly what we saw. You could zoom in on the fish and coral and even the videos were phenomenal! We even did an evening Manta Ray excursion and those videos captured it all. I made sure I rinsed the camera with fresh water once we got back to the condo each time. We had to problems with the camera at all. I would DEFINITELY recommend this camera for underwater captures.

After looking at many, buying some and using a few compact cameras recently, the Canon Powershot G15 ticks (almost), all of my boxes. The plus features include the solid build quality, fast f1.8 lens, optical viewfinder and slimmer design - though a folding LCD would have been nice. Sigh... So far, images have been sharp & it has functioned as faultlessly as we expect all Canons to these days - so why only a Four-star rating? The answer is in what's not in the box... When are Canon going to realize that customers don't like being short-changed with the little things...? These include (or don't, in this case), an absence of the USB download cable - even though we probably all have several spares in various drawers - and the worst of all, No Instruction Book... We all know that putting a camera user guide on CD doesn't save any paper at all - but it does shave a few cents off the manufacturing cost, so makes the bean-counters look good. This is a mistake. Even if we print our own manual on double-sided A4, then trim and bind all 316 pages of this particular guide, that's still wasting a lot more paper than would be the case if Canon simply printed all their user guides - in proper paper book form - in multiple languages and all in one central printing works somewhere. So, come on Canon. Kick out the accountants, give us back our books and we'll all be voting 5 stars next time - like when the G2-x comes out next year with the same large sensor but an even faster lens...

It has an adjustable LCD but it really isn't that adjustable because you cannot flip it all the way to take a "selfie". So really, what's the point? Try another brand instead if that is what you're looking for.
