canon is the best camera out there, and this is their best for the price. point and shoot couldn't be easier.

I've had this camera for more than 6 years now, and it's still working fantastically. It is a great camera for beginners, i.e., it has enough manual tricks to satisfy my curiosity of how a camera works. The color sensitivity of the CCD are very natural such that it reflects what the eyes see --- some other CCD may be more sensitive to the blue or red, but the on in this type of camera is just fine to me . The complain I have about this camera is that it does not support memory card that is larger than 2GB.

Though I miss the articulating viewer of the G-11/12, this camera is spunky and takes beautiful shots...scenic, people, etc.It is solidly built, very light and the controls are typical Canon. I have had 5 of the G series cameras, and cannot recommendthem highly enough for the traveler who wants to get those quality shots yet not haul around lots of heavy equipment. I can keep this at my belt line in the little zip cases...readily available for that special picture. This camera is quality all the way.

I have read canon forum after forum about this camera. I got the "Card Locked!" error message even though the card was not actually locked. I found out that there is a contact sensor in the camera where the card goes and if it is out then it tells the camera that the card is locked. If you take a paper clip and press it back in then the message disappears. This was a huge pain in the butt to deal with because it wasn't the card and doing a factory reset on the camera did not work either.

Upgrade to Fuji a600 with 1 gig of ds memory wanted. a600 works excelllent. But USB conntects only last limited number of times.a600 purchased in 2006 from best buy for about $200. AA battery powred is requirement. No specialized battery charging camera rejected. SX 160 16is meets expections with 16 gig transcend class 10 sdhc. [Amazon $164] . Canon software loaded properly on three xp laptops but did not on desktop. Why? Investigation in progress. From retired iso 9002 certified windows device driver writer. Good price. I needed an extra camera battery for a trip to remote islands where elec is not always available for charges. Seems to hold charge well.

Not super tight, but good enough at the given price. Worked for my IXUS 240 HS. Cheapest case I could find!

I love this camera and would recommend it. It's small but easy to handle. The photo quality is great. The settings are easy to use. The only drawback is it EATS batteries.

I have had this camera for years. Really no zoom what so ever. Pictures are graining if you zoom at all. Some times the lense will not fully open. This camera is strictly for beginners. I have really not seen another camera that doesn't take better pictures. For the price you can do better. Also, it seems the reviews for cameras on Amazon are dependent on the level of experience of the users. No way is this a 4.5 Star Camera. I see much better camera's getting lower ratings. Take the ratings with a grain of salt. And stay away from this camera. Cameras have improved since this one was released.

the item looked good and arrived earlier than expected. unfortunately it did not fit and it had to be returned to seller. refund was no problem. I only rated it ok,because tit was never used nor do i have any negative feedback.

Last year, I lost my Canon camera lens cap which came with the camera. Naturally I went to Amazon to see if I could replace it. I found a perfect higher quality replacement. A perfect fit, excellent quality and good price too. I'm happy.

This is the third PowerShot I have owned. I love the pictures, color, zoom, framing, and pocket size. Tried a new newer version and returned it just to get a used PowerShot A450.

This isn't the most exciting item in the world, but it works well; just like it is supposed to. I wish it came with a little bag for the various parts.

I have to admit, I'm a point and shoot type of person who likes a small digital camera that I can carry in the pocket of my jeans or in my purse so it's always handy. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on a camera and have to spend hundreds on extra lenses. My Casio camera serves me just fine in many circumstances. I take a lot of people pictures and pictures at parties and get-togethers. But there were always those times when I was in a beautiful location and wanted something that would do a good job with pictures of mountains, lakes and other landscape features. Or I wanted to take a photo of our Christmas tree at night with the lights in a dark room and I just could never really capture the shot. I often wanted to take pictures of the squirrels or a woodpecker on the tree but with a 3x optical zoom you just can't get "up close and personal". This camera will do all that and more. It will also do automatic, point and shoot photos, just like my little point and shoot camera.

I hate to read manuals and instructions. But with this camera it's something you just have to set aside some time and pretty much read through the well organized little manual that comes with it. It's easy enough reading and well organized with references to page numbers describing each feature and cross referenced well. Perhaps someone with experience on other SLR cameras or more complicated cameras would find this camera intuitive, but I had to sit down a study a bit before really getting into all the features. Once I had the camera set up and tried the different features and settings it was easy enough to do, but there is a little learning curve. The good news is there are many more things I can do with this camera than I ever imagined.

With other cameras I've owned I could take macro photos of things like flowers or food. With this camera I can take a super macro of not only the flower, but the bee on the flower and the hair on his legs! With other cameras low light photos were just so-so. With this camera you can take photos in very low light which I find myself using more and more, now that I have a camera that will handle it. The 20x zoom is nothing short of amazing. This is great for taking photos of outdoor critters or spying on your neighbor's gardener. It's almost like having a pair of binoculars and being able to capture it on digital film. You can take great movies with stereo sound. It's so much easier than getting out the video camera every time you want to take a short movie of the dog doing something cute or your neighbor's kid doing something stupid. There are some special scene settings that are a quick way of setting up the camera for different types of photos. I've had very good results using these and look at all the different circumstances they cover: You have settings for portraits, landscape, night scenes or snapshots, sports, indoor, sunsets, foliage, snow, beach, fireworks (can't wait to try this one out), aquarium, ISO 3200, color accent and color swap.

The flip-out and rotating 2.5-inch LCD screen is a feature I love and I haven't seen it on any other camera in this class. It makes it simple to see what you're taking from any angle and is nice because you can tilt it out of the sun. I find all the buttons, built in flash and controls easy to use and I can re-set it quickly for different types of circumstances. I really like the stitch assist for taking panorama shots that I can later stitch together on my computer into one wide panoramic image. There are so many more settings and things that you can do, just too many to list here.

The camera will definitely not fit in the pocket of my jeans but the weight and size aren't bad. I bought the Carrying Case / Shoulder Bag for the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi, PowerShot S5 IS, Powershot SX1 IS, SX10 IS case which is perfect for this camera. I'm posting a short video showing the case and just a few features of the camera. It's too bad I couldn't use this camera to take the video. The close-ups would have been a lot clearer than what I could do with my video camera. I thought of including some photos taken with the camera on the video, but with the compression needed to fit the videos on this website the wouldn't do them justice. Even the photos posted by other reviewers on this site, as amazing as they are, look even better when you see them on your own computer or printed.

I did a lot of research on cameras and then I hesitated for a long time, wondering if I would use it enough to justify the cost. I shouldn't have waited. This is an amazing camera and one that will keep me happy for a long, long time.

I am pleased with the camera.There are a few things that kinda threw me at first the camera has no internal memory so must have a memory card in order to take pictures.It was bought as refurbished and there was no card in the box it was listed on the contents list. After getting a card I was able to take pictures. I have not tried printing yet. The camera is a little more complicated than a Point n shoot type .So if you have problems with stuff like that dont get this camera . I have no problems with this camera and really like it so far.I have had it less than a month and have not had much chance to play around with it.

I bought this for my daughter, who has been having a great time trying out the various settings and taking lots of pictures.

When I got the camera I found out that they only put all components in a bubble wrap plastic and put inside of the big box.

Love 16x wide angle optical and 3 " screen, zoom and 16.0 mp.easy to handle for a senior man. Weight is perfect.

I was going to take this item back as I did not see the difference between the g15 and g12. However I took the camera on a cruise and discovered how well it performed when I returned and seemed to be doing less editing in my iPhoto. Either I'm getting better, or the camera was spot on. And I did not always use auto. I also used the video and was impressed by the videos I got when we were going through the Panama Canal. I feel like I'm back there it is so life like. I definitely would recommend the camera. Only once did I miss the articulated screen.

I can not say enough great things about this Canon digital camera. It's by far the best small camera that I have ever owned. I took a photo of a full moon and people could not believe how I was able to zoom in with is camera. I highly recommend it.
