Very pleased with the camera. It takes really nice pictures and videos. The battery life is very, very short, but I knew that when I ordered it and batteries vs. recharge cameras is the reason I purchased the SX160 IS. Using a rechargeable camera for the past couple of years, I'd often find myself with the battery power depleted; no place to recharge it; winding up using my cell phone camera for the remainder of our day. The Canon PowerShop SX160 IS solved the problem, since I can very easily pack extra batteries in the case and continue with a working camera for the rest of the day. Again, battery life is extremely short on this camera *therefore, only 4 star review), but the trade-off was worth it for me. Other things I found nice on this camera were the various settings, which are easy to use and provides for good pictures in many different types of lighting/scenes. Also, the pop-up flash device is nice, since there is no question on whether or not the flash has been set when needed. All-in-all, very pleased with the camera. Also, the service was good. The camera was received very quickly after purchase and packaging was new and intact.

At this price point this adaptor is a load and a half of fun. It is well milled and fits tightly. I wouldn't say overly tightly as other reviews but a comfortable snugness, something I want in my lens thread/attachment. Be careful of course, attach the adapter to lens first then attach the new lens fixture (with adapter) to your Nex. That seems to be the going advice.

Otherwise works great, proper price, nice matte black finish, seems like it will last indefinitely. It does increase the focal length by 27-28mm since it's basically an extension - moving the focusing elements of the lens farther from the focal plane (CMOS in the camera). Picture sharpness/quality/bokeh is wonderful, unaffected by the extension, you just get a smaller crop. So your legacy MD 50's will turn into near 80's and your 28mm will be a 56mm. On the other hand my Macro 28-85 became a brilliant beast with the added extension. Good times. Your MC 58mm might just turn into the famous 85mm of the same generation and you won't have to spend $400 on a real 85mm. I don't know, just saying.. Money well spent here. Legacy Minolta lovers rejoice! Thank you so much, Cheers!

I have used this camera non-stop ever since it was first released a few years ago and I love it! After owning it now for several years, I am just now coming on to leave my views on it because I think that the comments and reviews of people who have owned any item being reviewed for a longer length of time, holds greater weight than someone who just immediately leaves a review for an item right after they receive it. Only after a person has used an item over an extended period of time, can we know how it holds up. For example, questions about an item's durability is important to know. Or, does it last in all kinds of conditions? Does the item still function as smoothly and professionally as it did when you first obtained it? All of these, and many more are very important factors to consider when choosing to buy an item, especially an expensive item.

In conclusion, the answers to all of the questions above and many more can all be surmised in the final statements. This camera is an awesome, hard-working, long-lasting, top-quality mid-level camera that anyone should consider owning if you want a mid-priced camera that has many of the features of way more expensive cameras and does just as good of a job!

I've been using this adapter on my Sony NEX-6 for a month or so now and it works great. I've been sticking with MD lenses but I've had no problems at all. It mounts onto the camera easily and then the lens mounts onto the adapter. Very simple.

I'm not sure why one reviewer complained of ghosting. That's a lens issue. There is no glass in this. It's just a cylinder with an E-Mount on one end and MD-Mount on the other.

Takes great photos and is easy to use. Only complaint is that, as it has aged, it has started to indicate batteries need changing too early, in my estimation. You have to shut it down and restart to squeeze more shots out of the batteries, which can be done up to a point.

This adapter works and functions as expected! As with all of these inexpensive Chinese-made adapters, you'll get some manufacturing variances. My particular copy of the adapter was a little tight, but it ended up mounting to my target lens fine after a hint of force. Thankfully, I'm only planning on using it with one lens (a random giant 500mm lens I picked up on eBay for cheap), so I won't have to worry about mounting/dismounting it frequently.

It's a solid piece of metal, and there's no optics to degrade image quality. Overall, I couldn't be happier, especially for the price. Just know that you're not ordering a 100% perfectly inspected piece of gear.

I purchased this o-ring as a backup for the stock o-ring that came with my Canon WP-DC35 (housing for Canon s-90). This o-ring is noticeably larger in diameter than the stock Canon o-ring. Though it keeps water out of the case, because it is larger, the function dial didn't make solid contact with the function wheel on the camera, so i couldn't cycle between different shooting modes. I replaced it with the stock Canon o-ring and didn't have the same problem. I would not buy this o-ring again

Though we bought this camera sometime during '06, and the LCD screen has since cracked, the camera still works wonderfully. Bulky for it's functions by current standards and the picture quality in low lighting leaves a lot to be desired, the camera has lasted a long time and I really must give kudos to that. Considering that the Canon Powershot A-series is now at 4000, I think investing in a camera is this line is worthwhile.

(however, the amazon listed price at $500+ is pretty ridiculous. Even the Powershot 1400 is valued at about $99.00)

I have been a longtime fan of the Canon S series cameras. I shoot Nikon SLRs, but have been a Canon compact fan for many years now. Prior to this S120 I used the S95 and then the S100. I have been using my new S120 for a week now on vacation and this is a horrible step backwards. Do not buy this camera. I wish I had my S100 with me :( The first of two major flaws is its blown out highlights -- virtually in any mode. This new sensor is an issue -- despite its reported better qualities. The other major issue that has me wanting to throw this camera off a bridge is its total inability to get a focus lock at night. I am talking about basic high contrast images -- such as shooting Cinderalla Castle at Walt Disney World at night. Nope, that is too much for this camera. I am so sick and tired of hearing that beep and seeing a focus box with an exclamation mark because this sensor cannot handle night shots. This is a big part of my shooting repertoire so I am really mad about that one. Canon has lost a customer in me as I now need to find a camera that can handle metering and night shots more adeptly. Once I get home I will have this camera on Kijiji and will go back to my S100 (which is far superior and recommended, in my opinion).

I had the Canon PowerShot D10 and it was easier to operate. It also had better features. For instance, there was a shortcut to a "sports" feature--this automatically adjusted the ISO for you and focused quickly for shots of kids in motion. This is no longer included in the D-20 and you have to manually change the ISO. It's also now several steps to even get to the place that you can change the ISO! By the time you change it the action is over and you've missed the shot. I've also found that the "auto" feature is slower than it was on the D-10 which rarely, if ever, gave me blurry shots, this one tends to do it more often than not. I was really bummed by the changes. They added features (like more filters), but overall, my D-10 was better. Also, my D-10 was so great that after seven years it was still working perfect and GOT STOLEN! :( I felt like a loss a friend. The one advantage to this D-20 is that it's slimmer. Another change that irritated me was that you used to be able to attach the strap to any corner...for a lefty this is perfect. Now, you can only attach to the right. The absolutely worst change they made (and I still can't believe Canon would be that flawed in their engineering to do this) was that they moved the lens to the top left corner (instead of the middle). This means that where you would typically hold the edge of a camera you now cover the lens just a bit with the tip of your finger--I've had several shots ruined by the tip of my finger. Overall, I was disappointed in the new version. :(

After much research in different the photo websites and reading Consumer Reports, I decided to get this Canon G15. I have only had it a few days and I am very satisfied with it. So far, the only negative about this rugged little camera is how easily you can press the movie record button by accident. This red button is right next to the spot where you place your right thumb when you are shooting. It is not a major problem, just a little annoying, and I do not know how to avoid it.I wanted to expand my shooting with this camera, so I purchased the filter adapter for the lens, and I now can use regular 58mm filters (B & W my favorite): a UV filter as permanent lens protection, a Polarizer to remove glare and deepen colors, a neutral density filter for those very bright days when you need less light coming in. The camera's smallest opening is f. 8.0, so this is a limitation when you are photographing in a bright background.I used to be a professional photographer, using Hasselblads (in the old days), and Canon full frame cameras, so I am very particular when it comes to camera quality and features. One of my favorites features is the HRD mode, where the camera takes three pictures at different exposures and combines them all to come up with an exposure that will handle the highlights and the shadows. I can do that in a more professional fashion with Photoshop, but doing it this way is a lot easier and quicker than getting home and manipulating three different frames into one.Camera Pro's:Compact size, large f. 1.8 lens, a rugged build, very sharp LCD, large number of choices for special effects, very good movie mode, a good value.Camera negatives:Video mode goes on too easily, would like a larger zoom ratio, an articulating LCD would have been nice, as well as a time-lapse feature, like some Sony NEX models have.I will update this review as I use this camera more.CIAO!

This is one of my favorite things to take on a trip. I have have a Nikon D40 with a pretty expensive lens and this camera can rival it on certain shots. I like that you can use the viewfinder or the screen to frame shots. Slip it in my purse and take it everywhere.

I originally wanted this camera because it offered amazing optical zoom at a great price. The AA battery was an added bonus. However, I ultimately returned the camera because of the following:Too bulky. This camera is not really a pocket camera. Bigger than your typical point and shoot (due to the size of the lens I'm sure) it doesn't comfortable fit into a purse or coat pocket. In addition, if you have small hands it is difficult to operate one handed.Too heavy. This camera is quite heavy, again I'm sure it's due to the large lens. If you do put it in your purse it seems to drag it down. In addition, because of the weight it is difficult for someone with small hands to operate one handed. I have slightly compromised strength in my right hand due to injury, and it was uncomfortable to try to operate with one hand; which I need to do because I use it for my job and the other hand is full of my clipboard.Flash. You have to push a button to manually pop the flash up. If you are trying to operate the camera one handed it is pretty difficult to get the flash up. Then of course, you have to push it back down before you put it away. The flash also takes a really long time to charge, which is pretty annoying.Body. The body is plastic, and feels cheap. I'm sure this is to cut down on weight because the camera already weighs a ton, but it just doesn't really feel quality.I didn't use this camera enough to comment on the quality of the photos, the above issues were enough that I did even want to use the camera more than once,

By now these are strictly on the used market. Ignore the pixel rating, just buy it. There is so much more to a camera than a mere pixel rating, and this camera does everything right. Excellent buy on the used market - this one served me very well until I upgraded to a more advanced (and higher priced) model.

I just received my camera. I ordered it yesterday and selected one-day shipping. It arrive at 7:40 PM the next day. I opened the outer box and the first thing I noticed - the Canon box is not sealed. It seems all the components are in plastic bags, but just folded over (no seal). The screen on the back of the camera had someone's fingerprints on it. And if things couldn't get any worse - The camera is $20 less expensive than yesterday.Since I'm not convinced I received a 'new' camera, it's going back. I did not opt to purchase what appears to be either repackaged or refurbished.When I receive the new camera I can update the review.******UPDATE*******I have been informed by many that Canon does not seal their boxes. That being said...I will keep the camera. I don't have a full review yet, but I will say I am happy so far. There are a couple things I'm not happy with, and I don't think they'll be much of a surprise. The first is wifi. If the camera has wifi, why can't I just use the menu to set it up? I have four Canon cameras. This is my third point-and-shoot and I have a 70D. Each time I have to go through the install and try to make it a point to only install what is necessary I end up with all this crap software on my computer.Another complaint is with HDR. Regardless of mode, why can't HDR always be on or off with the mode I'm shooting in? It seems HDR is its own mode. What if I want to shoot HDR of a landscape, or HDR of a portrait? Am I not understanding this feature? Perhaps....

My wife took the card for her Canon camera on holiday to Croatia and took a lot of pictures so I could see what I missed (I had to work). This card size is the only one to work in a Canon A350 so I was glad I checked the specifications before I bought the card. Delivery was quick: just as well as I did not buy until the last minute.

I am very excited about this camera. Love it to pieces. It's a little strange coming off of a dslr to something like this but I adore it. I bought it because I needed an interesting light and compact point and shoot and really liked the originality of this camera. As far as the heavy weight people discuss on their reviews they are expecting because it is so small that it won't weigh anything, but Canon gave this little guy a full metal body. I am accepting of the weight, just because I know how sturdy this camera is. I have no issues with the screen only flipping 90 degrees, but then again I wasn't expecting it either. I also tried taking selfies and shot self video with no issues. So I don't really see why the screen flipping up is so important. I did use the screen for what Canon intended it for which was high, low and food photography and it was so much better than a standard non flip non swivel screen. The flash seems like a cell phone flash, but it's much more powerful and honestly much less fake looking than cell phone and camera flashes tend to be, which as I have noticed with all of my Canon cameras, seems to be a trend with their flashes. Battery life is a little short here though, but I'm just going to buy some backup batteries. I don't expect such a small camera to power an entire city over night like some people seem to. Overall VERY happy with this purchase and considering buying more for family. :)

bought this about a year ago for my son as he goes to camps etc with Scouts so didn't want to spend too much money. He absolutely loves it the only downside was that with duracell batteries in after about 30 pics the batteries just died. took it back to get an exchange and was told to try lithium batteries all though they are expensive they are well worth the money and had no problem since he takes it everywhere with him and we use it a lot on holidays. We have had some exceptional photos from it and some good video footage also would definitely recommend this sort again.

After using a Canon Power-Shot A570 IS...I thought I'dlike to try a little camera from a RIVAL brand. I purchased one of the little pocket cameras thatuses a lithium-ion battery. Whew! Without warning, thelithium battery would suddenly "run out of power"...andwithout warning, would send up a sign saying, "lowbattery" ---TOO LATE! The opportunity for the phototo happen was gone. Then, I saw this camera advertised in Amazon. Read thereviews and found out that this SX160 IS used AA-batteries.HURRAH!I bought it and it hasn't quit on me! It lets me know when thebatteries are losing power, and I always have 2 spares withme...in case I need them. In other reviews you'll see variousgood points about this camera. I agree with all of them.Yet, it is most important to have a stable power source thatwarns you if it is wearing down. I had to add this one because Photography has been myhobby since my dad taught me how to take pictureswhen I was a child. Though he took portraits, I've workedmostly on composition and landscapes. It is a beauty-filledworld out here if we look for it! Happy picture-taking!

Hello! It's been awhile since I've written a review for Amazon so definitely I wanted to let everyone know this is one of the best pocket cameras from Canon. I loved the S95 but unfortunately it has not functioned for me lately so I decided to take the jump for the S120.The S120 low light function is brilliant, I'm amazed at the night scene setting where I'm able to get a fantastic picture when there's very little light around. I'm mainly using the camera in Auto mode and it does very well for me.Pros1. Wi-Fi very handy when needing to transfer files2. Fantastic low light capability3. Compact and Lightweight fits perfectly in my pocket4. Takes pictures really quickCons1. The battery does not last very long, within 30 minutes after recording the low battery light blinks already2. The microphone is at the top, if you're recording you have to watch where you put your fingers3. There tends to be a lag when going from playback pictures back to camera mode, it could be faster!4. May be difficult for a beginner if they don't know how to function the scenes properlyOverall I'm happy with the purchase. I've made over 80 videos to this day with the camera everyday. If you're curious on the video quality I highly suggest you check out on YouTube "iAmAlexander408". You'll see all my video vlogs I made that are all mainly used from this camera.

I LOVE this camera. I owned the G9 and G12 as well. The G9 was WONDERFUL, but died after a couple years. It was too much to repair, so I bought the G12. I didn't feel like the G12 gave the same amazing quality images.... After a year, I sold it for $300 (Canon's hold their value - that's for sure) and I bought the crazy expensive super-hyped SONY RX-100. I ignored the bad reviews for the Sony and only listened to the hype. I was so disappointed. The Sony never once gave me a great picture - not one. It had serious focussing issues at near- and mid-distance. The color was always whacked, the images were always sad. These were the same problems that other people had, and I contacted Sony three different times - hoping they would fix my lemon. Every time they would just send me instructions on how to take a photo - as if I didn't know how to do it. Anyway, I had to live with the Sony for a long time - and I basically took pictures with my iPhone for that entire time.Enough about the Sony! I am so glad to be back to Canon - and the PowerShot G-series. The G15 is great. I love the image quality, the video capabilities, and the interface. I have no problem with the stationary screen, and I really like the textured surface.

I have the original charger in storage and it is far more solid than the charger I received. The one I received is rather flimsy and plastic. Also the light does not turn to green, as the original does, to indicate the battery is fully charged, so not sure how well it works.

I don't suppose this is available any more, but it's a great case, and it fits the camera it was designed to fit perfectly, with room for spare batteries and memory cards. It was a gift, given together with a Canon A520 I believe, which is a great camera. Also not available any more.

I have had this camera since December 5th 2009 it was a wonderful Xmas present and I was so over the moon.
It has taken some wonderful shots of the moon, landscape and animals, I have taken it on many adventures and really love my camera.

However since 2014 it has lost pixels and the zoom has become mush slower and the response is slower too.Also the stabilizer seems to be on the fritz too.
I am really sad my camera is on the out , but it has been good up to now

Bought this to replace and slightly upgrade an old pocket digital camera. Took it to Carlsbad Caverns to try it out. WOW! Once I learned some of the settings this camera is amazing. I really like the anti-shake feature and the digital zoom is incredible. I took a picture of an airplane sitting over a quarter of a mile away and it looks like you are standing at the nose of the plane. You can even tell the colors of the pigeon standing on the tail of the plane.The batteries I use, Duracell Alkaline, will last about 200 pictures depending on flash use. I put a 64GB memory card in it and that gives over 10,000 pictures worth of storage. The 3 inch screen is nice to see the shot; you don't have to squint at a little 1.5-2 inch screen and hope everything is in focus.My ONLY complaint is that the power button should have been put somewhere else. It's right behind the shutter button and on quick shots it's easy to hit the wrong button and turn the camera off instead of taking a picture.

Хорошо

Bought this in 2008 for daughter's Christmas gift. It was only about a hundred dollars back then. GRRREAT camera! She took hundreds of fabulous pics with it until she got an expensive smartphone. I would rather have a pic to see in a frame.

I've been an amateur photographer since the 1950s and have owned many different cameras of all types. After the digital revolution I owned a couple of digicams but lately I've had a variety of mostly Canon PowerShot point-and-shoot cameras such as the S3 IS on up to the SX 20IS. When I'm out on the street I carry a camera mainly to be ready when a UFO appears or if I'm ever a witness to a news-worthy event since some individuals who were at the right place at the right time have made a tidy sum of money with whatever they were able to videotape and some of them have gone viral mainly on YouTube.

I also try to stay in tune with the changing times and when CMOS sensors were shown to provide better results than run-of-the-mill CCDs I waited for the right time to buy a Canon PowerShot featuring a CMOS sensor. But when first introduced they were not available in the U.S. and they were pricey.

Then along came a seller on Amazon who offered a good deal on an SX1IS and I grabbed it. It seems I don't have the eye to see the difference between a CCD sensor's photos and those taken with a CMOS as I rarely use my camera but it's a good feeling to know that when and if I ever need the superiority of the sensor, I can count on its high quality coming through. I've taken a small amount of photos and some video and I was pleased as hell with the results.

Keep in mind that this camera is an awesome photographic product and you might never use all of its countless features; I know I won't. But if you are beginning in photography or are a seasoned pro and don't want to deal with the complexities of SLRs as far as having to purchase more than one lens, consider this camera as a backup or a main camera, it's worth your consideration.

Ужасно

Bought this camera in '05 and it has had very little use, I stored it with the batteries removed and tried to use it recently and it was completely dead, tried 2 new sets of batteries, new SD card, tried the reset Canon support told me to try, still dead, Canon offered to give me a deal on a refurbished camera but I think I'm done with Canon products, does any company make a product that lasts anymore??.

I have ordered these SD cards and will again. They work great for units my Roland Digital Recorder and my Audio and Visual Recording unit.

It fits nice and snug on my a7s. Since aperture is set by lens, there really isn't anything to adjust on the adapter. It feels nice and solid. Very happy with the build quality and price. If you have Minolta lenses, this will work perfectly!

The first one failed after about 10minutes, the supplier sent out a second one which works fine. Hopefully just had a bad one.

Великолепно

The cards are perfect for our old Canon Camera. It is very hard to find 2 GB cards and finding ones especially for the camera made me very happy. This camera is amazing! It takes the best photos despite its' age and I hope you will continue to offer these cards.

I'm so glad to be asked to rate this purchase because I want to sing the praises of it. I needed to replace this same model camera since I had dropped and broken the original one, bought some four years ago. I was unable to find anything similar in used condition locally (any new similar camera I checked out did not have a view finder, which I need due to my inability to see the screen in daylight.) So I did a search on line to see if this model might still be available, and this one popped up. I was nervous ordering it since I'm not one to order used items sight unseen, but I decided to take a chance. It arrived very quickly and in excellent condition. I've had it now for a couple of months and am very happy with it. It works just like the one I broke, which was exactly what I was hoping for. It takes excellent pictures of a variety of scenes. It fits into my pocket so I can have it handy, yet it's out of sight.
