This camera is worth every dollar! cheap and its awsome!! some of my friends didnt believe i took a picture of my dogs they thought i posted it from google it was really funny to me this camera can zoom in so far!!! and take a clear shot i can take far away pictures and video!! ive had rechargable batteries in this camera for 3 days now with a good amount of use and the batteries r still going strong im 19 nd im a beginer so ive been taking lots of pictures and videos and i love this camera everyone compliments my pictures!12-12-13If anything fails ill update and let everyone know!

The camera takes great quality pictures and has hundreds of options. It runs out of battery pretty fast, I took it for a day out and had to buy batteries at the end of it. For some reason some pictures weren't displayed, it said that they couldn't be found on the memory card, I am not sure if it's a problem of the card or of the camera, however, I had that card in my old camera and there was never a problem with it.

We have had this camera for a few years now and still absolutely love it. We did a lot of research and found this to be the most reasonably priced for what was being offered. It has come on so many trips, outings, parties, etc with us. We will have lasting memories forever thanks to our Canon!

I'm going on a once in a lifetime trip in November to Africa on Safari. While I am shelling out a lot of money to do this...I didn't feel I could spend a lot of money on a camera. I'm just not that savy with cameras. A friend has a Canon Sure Shot and she recommended it to me. So I saw this one on Amazon and ordered it. OMG it's terrific! The price is unbelievelable and the features are amazing. I will never be an expert photo journalist, but this Canon Sure Shot will assist me in taking photos for my once in a life time adventure and it will not leave me destitute! It's easy to use...the owners manual downloads on your computer and even I can figure it out. I have practiced taking photos of my grand kids and at my local zoo. All terrific. I bought 2 additional Memory Cards and I can't wait to get to Kenya and start taking pictures of Lions & Zebra and such. While, I will never be published on National Geographic....this camera will allow me to capture a once in a lifetime adventure and to have the photos as memories until the day I die. It's a great value and a great camera.

The camera have outstanding capabilities to shoot good photos, having in mind its price and goals.Beside of that I would rate it as poor constructed, because it stopped working after 1 year & 3 months.It was properly used, never diving more than 3 meters (it is said that the camera is 10 mt / 33 ft. waterproof), but water leaked inside and now the camera is out of order.I expected more from a Canon waterproof camera.

I had a Canon G15 for about a year and loved it, but with a curious toddler and a baby on the way, I wanted something that I'd actually be able to carry with me wherever I went. So, I started looking at cameras again and after testing a few at home, was sold on the S120. Photos are beautiful, lots of great settings and manual options. The photos are even better than those I took with the G15 (and those were quite good) and even low-light pics look good. Best of all, the camera is tiny, making it easy to carry in my purse or diaper bag, so I never miss a shot. I can't recommend this camera highly enough.

This camera takes great photos and especially in low light. I like that it doesn't have to use the flash when indoors. I've had the S90 and S95. I've been lucky and haven't had the dreaded "lens error". The only thing I would like is a longer zoom.

I prefer using a camera to a tablet or phone for taking pictures, and this one is great. I'm glad I got the version that uses AA batteries, since they can be purchased anywhere. I wish there were a cheat sheet right on the back of the camera, since I never know what the symbols on the dial represent. For example, in a museum, sometimes photos are allowed, but not with a flash.

Only had it a month so far but I am very impressed. This camera has excellent picture quality and unlimited manual adjustments for those so inclined. I have not yet had a chance to use in low light and that was one of the big draws for me but I am pleased with the outdoor pictures in sunny and very cloudy light. Very crisp detail. It has a solid feel in the hand - it is not a pocket camera although it is not so bulky that it is a pain to carry. A perfect alternative for those of us who don't want to carry a bulky/heavy DSLR but want much more control/quality than the simple point and shoot. A little more zoom would have been nice but with the shoot quality it is easy enough to crop the image to zoom in. The non-articulating screen is no big deal to me like it is to some of the other reviewers. I had it on another Canon but did not use it much (and it added bulky size to the camera which I don't want). I like the viewfinder outdoors because it is easier to use than the LCD in the sun - only wish some of the status info was visible in the viewfinder like earlier Canon cameras. All in all, I am very pleased with my G15 and would buy it again.

I searched a very long time for the perfect camera. I found this camera it was everything I wanted or at least so I thought. Instead of using a rechargeable battery like most cameras this camera uses AA batteries which only lasts for 20-40 pictures. I am returning this camera just because of the batteries it is not worth the camera. Although other than the batteries this camera is amazing! perfect zoom and settings.

I really hate this camera. It is so not user friendly. It needs a guide book to figure it out (which I printed and tried to find my way around) it isn't even good as a point and shoot. Disappointed so much that I went back to my old kodak easy share and I find it takes better picture.

Like most reviewers I love this small but highly effective camera. I'm not a pro but like to take a good, well framed picture with alive colors and some nice B and W portraits, and especially in low light where I don't want a flash to wash things out. This does the job and more. The menu and capabilities are likley way beyond most users, but with time, as you dig into the menu, one can become more imaginative - for example, I have one of the two custom buttons set for portrait setting in B and W, the other for outdoor "Program" mode with specific color enhancements - done with some adjustments here and there (saved - and thus a huge time saving when youre shooting).The big plus is the alive vibrant pictures you get from a rel small package, lighter and easier than an SLR for most users. The issue of whether the screen is hinged or not is not an issue for me or most users I suspect.A small word of caution - the automatic lens cover is delicate - I spilt some syrup on our older G12 lens cover (same design as the G15) and it jammed it badly - the result of leaving the camera face up on the dining table at a family dinner......ugh.

Just received my camera that I ordered to take on an upcoming trip. Was pretty excited until I opened the box and camera and found NO memory card,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I have purchased at least 4 cameras in the last 10 years and every one of them came with a memory card.You always had the option to upgrade to a larger memory card BUT it always came with one.Now I have to go out and purchase one in the middle of all the packing and prep work for the trip ,,,,,,, thanks for taking ALL the fun out of getting my new camera.Hope the pictures won't be as disappointing as receiving this. You may want to stipulate on your ad that camera comes WITHOUT memory card.

I needed to buy new a camera after my Samsung died after 5 years or so, one of my main decsiion factors on getting a new camera finding one that does not come with battery packs, I like being able to use to recharger AA batterys. Well you will quickly find out that there are very few cameras that do not use a battery pack, and it does not matter what price range, the under $100 cameras or higher priced cameras , there are only a few.So that was one reason why I chose this camera, and based off a lot reveiws I read, it seem to be a good buy, so I went for it, and so far I like it, I have had not even a month yet, so I am still getting use to it, but it takes great pics, and video's . Like many have said, its not an action camera, it can be if you have proper lighting, and trying to take pics of a 16month that does not stand still very long can result in blurry pics, but so far, it has been well worth the money.One thing I am not liking so far is not having a battery meter on screen, or anywhere, there may be one, but I have not found it yet. And on other thing I dont like, is not being able to pause while recording video, my 5/6 year camera could, my BB 9850 lets you pause while recoding . But its still not a deal breaker, I guess if you want to shoot video, get a video camera lol.The size , well its not big, not small, its right in that middle area that might be too big to fit in pants pocket, unless you wear cargo pants( I do), or you are a female that carrys a very small purse( I am not, and dont), this might a camera that if you want to carry around, you might want to get a camera belt case, or wear pants with big pockets.Other then those little things, and dont let them put you off buying this camera, its a really decent camera.

I had to do some research for friends and family on dependable Sharp shooting pocketable cameras and had two people buy the G15. When I found myself needing to update a compact camera recently this was the unit I chose for myself. Facial recognition is also a good way toensure that multiple parties all remain in focusCompact cameras have come a very long way and in all honesty I wish the DSLRs would make more effort to have their auto-settings lean toward "all-in-focus" rather than their default low aperture and shallow depth of field.Great job Canon.

So far, I really like this camera. I have had a dozen digital cameras in the past 10 years, and this one is excellent. I got tired of carrying around a large nikon or canon digital DSLR. I think this might be the answer to that dilemma. The pictures are excellent, and the options are plentiful.

I got this camera for a present. We got it on time and delivery was very good. My brother loved the features. Very disappointing when within a month it stopped working properly. He has to turn it off every time it starts acting up, wait for about 30 minutes and turn it on again. This is unacceptable.

I bought this camera for a trip of a lifetime: the Galapagos. The camera seemed sturdy, and test photos were sharp and well-stabilized. I looked forward to documenting my trip.On the second day of the trip I went snorkeling in shallow salt water--I went no more than 10 feet deep. The camera stopped working after perhaps 20 minutes. I thought that the battery had just given out early. But when I got back on land and opened the camera and changed to a new battery, the camera still did not work. I finally opened the door that covers the USB port and charging port, and found water inside. The camera was ruined.After I returned to the US of A and sent the camera back, Canon replaced it promptly with a refurbished one. But I do not have much use for the refurbished camera--I bought the camera for one big trip, and it failed. I did get one and a half days of pictures, most of which came out very well. But I will never get back the seven days of missed photos due to the leak.

I was a long time Canon camera fan. Purchased this camera in 2008 from Amazon and was quite happy for the first few months. The picture quality was good for the technology of the time. I would have rated it five stars when it was brand new.

The main purpose of purchasing this Canon camera was that I needed a backup camera that will take regular AA batteries, instead of one that needs recharging. The good feeling ended after a few months when it requires more frequent battery replacement. After a year, a set of brand new high power name brand battery only lasted a handful of pictures or less. In another word, it is no longer usable. I purchased a Panasonic later to replace the Canon. The Panasonic is a few years old now, and still good as new.

The Reason for a fixed display is to entice people to move up to G1X (with articulated Screen) where as G15 (now only fixed Screen). But Canon never expects that GIX would be a flop. The selling point of G1X is the overly large Sensor. But to keep the camera size not too much bigger, the Lens have to be slower & no close-up. Thinking people will buy a large Sensor, by giving up other features, was a mistake. People buy the camera to use, then they show it off. If it is not good to use, they just don't buy it. Assuming the slower G1X sales would make up by higher sales volume on G15 did not materialize because of the G15 fixed screen. And with all the competitions, it is no longer the only good choice. So what was started as a good give-and-take of features for the two cameras had turned into a nightmare for both. People don't buy G1X for the slow and non-close-up Lens and don't buy G15 for the non swing Screen.Solution: G1X - Increase the size of the camera for a faster Lens and better Closeup or reduce Sensor size to approx four-third, also for faster & better close-up Lens. G15 - swing Screen. If Canon is not reducing G1X Sensor size, then it should Increase the G15 Sensor size somewhat. G15 - has the best overall built camera with best software, so don't make dumb (backward) moves anymore. Keep on improving and it will stay on top of the competitors.

My G15 is an upgrade from the G9. Both are excellent cameras and the improvements of the G15 are sufficient to justify buying it. However, both my G9 and my G15 have gone to Canon service. The G9--out of warranty--just quit working while I was on a trip. The G15, less than a year old, has the problem with the lens extending only part way. The Canon people are very nice, but I do not like being without my camera for two or three weeks. I do not know if my cameras are the exception or if I am just unlucky. Or, does Canon have a quality control issue. That is why I gave it 4 stars. When it is working, it is a great camera.

I've been spoiled by my DSLR. This camera cannot compete with it, though I didn't expect that it would. It's just that I did expect a little more of it. I was frustrated by the lag between shots, and that the low-light shots were terrible. It was even a bit softer than my iPod in daylight. The biggest thing it does have going for it is the zoom, which could get me to places that were otherwise inaccessible.I like that it's light and compact, as well as manual settings to play with. Though, as I said, I've had my DSLR too long to go back to a point-and-shoot. This gets the job done, but that's about it.

I'm a experienced amature photographer and thought long and hard about my first digital camera, I went digital late in life. A teacher of photography in our high school taught her classes using the A590 so I had a long talk with her and asked her why she chose that particular camera to use. She had 24 A590 cameras to teach her students with. She told me that this camera was totally auto BUT it was also fully manual, and she could teach her students photography best in manual mode. That peaked my interest. Every digital camera today will take the perfect picture, but sometimes that's not what I want, I like to be creative, and I understand light & shadow. In the last 3yrs I've taken pictures of just about everything with it, under some most unusual circumstance and the A590 has never let me down, the 4x zoom is perfect but rarely used, I'm amazed at the low light photos. I prefer natural light in my photos and rarely use flash, in macro it will let you read a pennys date. The A590 will shoot in candle light, and at 8 pixels, its just right for 8x10 blow ups. The camera will let you change the 3 different lens but their so expensive their not worth it to me. There is a water proof case available for divers. My main camera is a 1975 35mm SLR FT2 Nikon Nikkormat completely manual that I've drug around the states coast to coast, its my standard that I compare all cameras to,(lens) The Cannon A590 measures up, its tough, light, and fool proof if you go auto, and small enough without being to small to hang onto. I paid $129 for mine at best buy and don't plan to ever sell it, its that good. I'm 72 yrs old, had 3 dark rooms in my travels and love photography. There are a lot of fine cameras out there, I mean really fine cameras, but the Cannon A590 power shot is one of the best and most versatile, and its affordable and back pack proof.

The layout of this camera is easy to use out of the box. I've had no problems with its functionality. The point and shoot style is great for novice photographers just trying to capture crisp picture quality.

Very good camera for the price. Above average than most without breaking the bank.

I bought this an an upgrade from my previous point and shoot. I love all of the various settings and the ability to control all or some of the settings as I learn to be a better photographer. The improved zoom is already making a difference for me over my previous camera. This camera allows you to use regular batteries instead of the proprietary battery required for the SX170 while giving you all of the same features. I am very pleased with the purchase!

I have had this camera for about two weeks now (including 300+ pictures during a one-week vacation). I am very pleased with the G15 and recommend it.As others have noted, the camera's case is very precisely constructed and appears to be quite rugged. The camera has a great feel in the hand, and part of this is due to the texture of the case (as well as thoughtful placement of controls).While this camera is too large for a shirt pocket, it is still considerably smaller than a SLR; it will easily fit into a jacket pocket and will fit into the front pockets of many pants (it is more or less the size of a man's wallet). (The worst picture, by far, is the one you can't take because you don't have your camera with you!)Image quality is very good. The 1.8 lens is fast and image capture is rapid (I will upload an image of a geyser - captured in one attempt).The optical viewfinder is very good for situations in which bright light is shining directly onto the digital screen.The battery life seems great - I captured around 300 images, with lots of reviewing by multiple people, on a single charge.I probably won't use all of the modes and settings possible on the G15, but still, they are nice to have (especially aperture priority).Recommended!

I have owned the PS s90, and PS s70. The older models had a titanium body, this one is almost as hardy. the older ones also shot RAW, had manual settings, and could control the flash output *(very helpful). This does all that just as well and now it also has wifi for sending your completed photographs via internet to online sites and your computer.Highly recommended pocket-sized professional quality *(when used carefully) camera.

I bought this one because of reviewers on Amazon.com web site. This one has AA batteries which you can find anywhere rather than the much more expensive Canon battery. I use rechargeable batteries which is even better. I like 16X optical zoom which is very impressive. I have turned back to the lower level the 16mp size. A great camera.

I had this Cannon for a few years and it was a brand new model, just released when I bought it. I take pictures of everything and it has not had a problem yet. Very little drain on the batteries, and I use rechargeable ones most of the time. Fits in my pocket easily and the pictures are large enough to zoom in very close when editing.The menu of options is easy to set up compared to the cameras some of my friends use.

Introduction:Camera was purchased to replace a Nikon L22 purchased last year on Amazon.com. The primary use was to take pictures of items to be sold on a large wEst coast Big Auction companY. Upgraded to the SX160, or so I thought... Used this camera for a couple of days and found the pictures to be grainy, blurry, while colors were not true, always washed out with blues being emphasized. While the pictures are of high resolution, they are not as nice as those taken with the Nikon L22. Even after adjusting ISO to low levels and using heavy duty lighting, the pictures were grainy and blurry; my customers did notice with comments like; "buy a new camera", "can you send me some better pics", and "stop using your iPhone for your pics". Amazon as always, is first rate to their buyers; they took back the camera for a full refund.Pros:Lightweight, pretty color, nicely packagedCons:Takes nasty, grainy, blurry pictures despite camera mode/setting changes and adjustments.Summary:Perhaps I received a "lemon", but "it is what it is". If you don't really care what your pictures look like, this camera would be a great camera for you. Beyond that, I don't find anything useful about the SX160.Note: I gave the L22 to my nephew as a gift so without a camera to work with, I purchased a Canon T3 DSLR at a large electronics FiRm in YeS, California for $350. Will give that a try.********************* UPDATE ******************************The Canon T3 DSLR arrived two days ago and I'm happy to report that it is absolutely AWESOME. The picture quality is stunning, the photos are crisp and sharp, and the colors are perfect even when set to auto mode. I'd recommend the T3 to anyone needing a good online auction camera. Glad this finally worked out. Unbelievable price on the T3 as well (under $350 with free shipping).

This camera feels stable and secure in the hand. It has usefuladjustments, including dedicated dials for zoom, +- exposure, and mode. Having a viewfinder is really helpful in bright light, and this was the main reason I bough this rather than a Sony RX100ii, and it is less expensive than the Sony. The pictures are consistently good.
