I bought this camera as a replacement for a Sony NEX-5 (first model) which just did not fit my needs. I had previously owned a number of digital cameras, mostly Canons, going back to the first Digital Elph S100. This camera fits the hand perfectly and i auto mode takes excellent pictures. I took it on a trip to Europe and took over 700 pictures under all lighting conditions to include night in the rain in Venice. It performed extremely well. Although it has a viewfinder, I found the screen to be bright enough in strong daylight to use without a problem, a concern that I had with the Sony. I am very pleased with this camera.

This camera was bought for my kids. My son took it to Washington D.C. 3 days after we got it. He shot in the neighborhood of 600 pictures. Some came out outstanding. Seems to be a bit lacking in the low light area. That was expected by me & was explained in the reviews. I have used it very little. I told my son, who is 14 that he may be able to offset the low light limitations by reading the manual that Canon provided. His comment was..."I'll figure it out dad. Don't worry". Both kids like it very well though. Wish I had a camera that nice when I was 14.

The controls on the Camera remind me of my old film cameras. They put thing like =-3 stop exposure on the outside of the camera. Other standard film controls are there too and there is an optical finder that zooms with the lens. Feels good in my large hands and all the controls are very accessible to my grip. I like the lens range and Macro capabilities which are easy to use. The lens is good and sharp throughout its range. I will probably get a superzoom compact also just for the tele range but this on is a great pocket camera for all occasions with few compromises for an old film shooter.

This was a gift for my wife. She goes through a camera every two years. Canons have been great. The view screen resolution could be better. So far wife is very pleased with camera.

Bought this to go along with a camera purchase but turns out I did not need it but always good to have a spare and the price was low

Good Working Camera with Nice Features and PC & Mac compatible software! We were able to use the camera immediately!!

I am a professional photographer and also an instructor at high schools and colleges.
I bought 20 of these cameras so I can teach high school students about photography and ensure they all have the same camera so I can quickly instruct them and answer questions.
I selected this camera because it is takes good quality pictures (based on my wife's A590 usage) and the fact that it has Aperture, Shutter and Manual exposure modes.
I bought it for her in 2008 for $130 and was able to pick up used ones for around $40 a piece.

One thing I am curious about is why these 5 year old cameras that sold for $139 in 2008 are on sell for $399.
Seems crazy to me.

the battery does not fit "tight" into the body of the charger. making it a little loose. consequently the slightest movement knocks it off being juiced up. also it does not have any indication of when its fully charged up.
after saying that , its cheap and does the job.

I bought this charger as a replacement for my Canon Powershot A220 and it works perfectly. I strongly raccomend it.

The hand grip was the most disappointing. I felt the grip was not big enough to keep the camera from falling out of my hands. I ride on the back of a motorcycle with my husband driving and I'm busy taking pictures. My older Canon Powershot has a larger grip, so the wind isn't able to whip the camera out of my hand, and I can keep the camera steady despite the airflow frm any direction. I also take many photos holding the camera under, over and in things that my head won't fit into. The new buttons on the G15 get in the way, and change the settings. When reviewing my photos, and try to turn the cam for friends to see, my thumb hits something that takes the photo off the screen. Its very annoying to go back, find the photo and try to turn the screen to share the photo with friends. Finally, the photos are beautiful as I would expect, but would rather add a Wide Angle lens, than to have every photo taken with Wide Angle. I would rather have the normal lens and switch out when needed.

I would have initially given this camera 5 stars. Ask me now, and I'm going to give it 1. I bought this camera (I'm a Canon fan!) and loved it for the first 2 years or so. Then it started eating batteries like it was going to the electric chair! Now, the batteries are dead within 48 hours of installation, with minimal pictures taken and no flash used. As I've read similar reviews about this camera, I can't help but wonder if it is Planned Obsolescence at work here--kill the cameras so people have to replace them. It simply makes no other sense that these cameras go downhill so quickly.

I bought this camera for my son for Christmas. He needed something besides his GoPro or the Big ole Canon 30D and 60D. Don't get me wrong, the GoPRo is awesome. Got one. But if you're runnin' and gunnin' or need to zoom in, well with the GoPro you're pretty much hosed. And if you need to go bicycle around town or cross country you need something small and lightweight. Something reasonably rugged with a high quality image and whistles and bells to enhance your creativity. I carry an SX200 everywhere I go. I'm a big Canon fan, been shooting Canon since 1970 but to be fair, I looked at the other players. I went for the Canon. 16MP, 16X, EOS, Digic4, 720p,3"screen, AA batteries. Was $169, I think, (now $149) Its not build like a 5D but its small, lightweight and powerful. Be careful where you aim it.

Love this camera! I am a power seller on eBay and use this camera exclusively for all my listings photos.
It's very reliable, easy to use.
If I was to accidently break it or if something happens to it, I would replace it with the same model.

These items are working well as expected. Exact fit and holding charge well so positive performance.I would buy them again.

I lost my cover for my Cannon Power Shot while visiting Washington, DC. Went to Amazon and purchased this online. It fits and works as well as the original one.

I have owned numerous cameras. All pretty expensive for the average person. I just love great quality pics. This is the best pocket camera I have ever owned. I call it a pocket camera because it goes everywhere with me in my purse. The pics are amazing!!!!!!! Low light is fantastic. I brought this camera and my monster Canon 40D to the kids play and this camera out performed my 40D. The pics were better under the low light than the 40D. (I didn't need an external flash) No joking. I love this camera. The video is great too. The zoom is more than sufficient. If you buy this camera also buy the MegaGear case for it. You won't be disappointed.

I bought this camera because I was going to Luray Caverns in Virginia and wanted to take some good photos and because many reviews praised. The SX 160, is however, is a a disappointment. Here is why:1. It eats batteries. It really does chew them up like pacman.2. The flash is slow and therefore unreliable.3. When you zoom in the lens takes quite some time to adjust, by which time the 'shot' is gone, gone, gone.4. The stabilization is the worst I have ever experienced since I bought my first camera in 1978.5. I strongly recommend against this camera, with all due respect to Canon. PS. I had a Canon but lost it recently.

This is the best camera I bought, it makes great pictures. I am not a photographer, so I really appreciated to be able to use it quite easily.

I have been using this for 9 months now. I've owned several Canon cameras over the years. The photo quality has been excellent! I've taken photos that people have raved about! Its easy to use. My 12 year old can even use it. The price was very reasonable. It's big enough to work like a serious camera, yet small enough to be portable.

Bought this for my wife based on specifications, and the fact that it takes AA batteries instead of needing a charger. Unfortunately she finds it too big and heavy to carry around. Most cameras are also pretty complicated these days, but she'll just have to spend some time with the manual. I opted for the AA battery simplicity rather than a super compact that you have to remember to recharge, but the jury's still out on whether that was the right compromise.

Once you RTFM, this camera is awesome. You definitely need to tweak some settings instead of shooting everything in "AUTO" mode. If you want a point-and-shoot, get something different. This camera has more settings than most normal people would even bother to mess with, but that's exactly what I was looking for. If you're thinking about dabbling into photography, or just want to get all artsy and take some cool shots, this camera is the one you want. Zoom feature is awesome and really powerful.NOTE: Get some rechargeable AA batteries or else you'll go through batteries faster than the Energizer bunny. I bought this camera specifically because I wanted one that ran on AA's. I've had it with battery packs and chargers failing, having to buy ones that are almost as much as a new camera. With AA's, you ALWAYS have power no matter what. Just get some rechargeable Ni-Cad's. They'll last longer and you'll help save the planet! Not really, but they WILL last longer.

This is a great camera. I especially love the optical zoom. Good quality images for the size of the camera.

I have a IXUS 125, and this is exactly what I wanted. I didn't want a hard carry case as I thought it would be too bulky, and this camera sock fits my bill. Not too bulky but will still protect my camera from knocks and bumps.

This camera was advertised as "like new" but when we opened it the battery compartment was broken, the LCD screen was scratched, and the camera turns itself off as random times. We got this camera for my mom because she has had the exact same one for over 5 years and she loves it, but it has been used to the point it does not work correctly. In fact the "like new" camera we ordered her looked almost exactly like the very used camera we are trying to replace.
