The Powershot D20 is a little larger than you might think by looking at the picture. However, it is sturdy and well built and feels like it could take some knocks (obviously since it's a rugged camera).The camera works just any other of Canon's point and shoots. Perhaps one let down the feature set is relatively basic. You don't get a lot of shooting options with the camera or manual control. But otherwise it's very simple to navigate through the settings and find what you need. The LCD is fairly bright on back and the battery life is pretty good.The zoom buttons work fine on the camera. The lens zooms in and out relatively fast. In fact, this camera surprised me with its performance. I had lowered expectations regarding its autofocus speed and shot to shot times, but they almost match my Canon Powershot S100 in that regard. Which isn't to say that it's a really fast camera but most people will find it reasonably fast in most lighting conditions.Image quality is pretty good. And not just for a rugged camera. The lens is sharp and detail capture is decent for a point and shoot. In bright light, the results are very decent. Low-light pictures are not as great, but still okay. But this is pretty normal for this class of camera. Still, if you're mostly uploading to the web or Facebook, you should be pretty happy with the results.I dunked the camera in a stream while hiking for an underwater shot and I had no issues whatsoever afterwards. The camera has a special "underwater mode" you can use to maximize image quality for underwater shots.A great rugged camera, all-in-all. Actually stays with the camera and fits perfectly. Sony should have done this in the first place. We wouldn't have "misplaced" it.

I replaced the memory card with one that has more memory and cannot be happier. This is actually the 2nd one I've owned.

I have had this camera for 5 years now and I am still impressed with it. First of all, I am not sure if they still are but mine says Made in Japan on it, unlike all the Chinese crap everybody sells nowadays. It is clad in stainless steel and has taken movies everywhere from the blistering heat of an iron foundry to the bitter cold of plowing snow on a dozer without a cab. Although I have not used it much recently due to the convenience of a cell phone camera, it is still my go-to device for taking GOOD pictures and videos for watching on the big-screen TV (always use the right tool for the job).

It does a fair job of taking pictures in low light, although videos in low light will come out blurry. The autofocus will also sometimes get confused at extreme zoom levels, but maybe I just have dirt on the lens, I don't know. That's really all you have to watch out for. With its big lens, the image quality will blow away even the newest iPhones.

This was a gift for someone else but they inform me it's the best camera they have ever used. So I guess it's a good camera.

I used the camera for the first time at night in a poorly lit environment during a BBQ. The pictures turned out beautifully with no need of adjustment to color or contrast. Excellent.

We got a Canon Powershot A620 at a rummage sale for less than a dollar and tried a 4GB memory card in it. It didn't work and we thought the camera was at fault. After some searching on the internet, we learned that the older cameras were made for 2GB memory cards (that was all that made then). This did the trick and we love having an extra camera around.

I tried out this camera and did not get good images. They looked fine on the viewer, but when I uploaded them to my computer every picture had pixelation or was blurry. I sent it back. Very disappointed in Canon.

My camera arrived in good condition and on time. I am still learning how to use it, but am happy the way it fits in my hand and easy to focus. I love the powerful zoom.

I am not a professional photographer, but I am a hobbyist. I like taking pictures a lot. I alwasy have my camera on me. I had the G11 for a few years now and I loved it. I skipped the G12 and upgraded to this camera. I wanted a compact pocketable camera that I can take everywhere. So far it has yet to displease me. It does all it is described to do and a bit more, and does it well. I know there are many reviews by the staunchest of camera buyers out there, but for the money... I don't think I would have bought anything else. So unless you are trying to become a pro photographer, and are just someone who likes to be able to take good pictures. This is the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

Easy to use, good quality. My only complaint is it uses AA batteries instead of having a rechargeable battery pack.

I bought this as a dual purpose camera - in and out of the water. It takes excellent pictures in both situations. A great camera if you want the control of an SLR, but don't want the size/bulk/lenses/price of one.

This is a upgrade from a older Canon PowerShot that we have had for years and still use. This one has a longer zoom with 16 MP. Gives you a lot for a great price in a very small pocket size.

I want a new camera with more clear lenses, because I shot a lot of pics indoor. And all my cameras are Canon, since an analogical SLR and my first digital compact until my last choice, a compact CanonSX210. Now is time to an evolution, G15 was a new choice. Maybe next time I'll choose a digital SLR.My new pics indoor are great, clear and nitid! But the pics outdoor, not so good, but this is a problem with this photographer here!:-)

I work in an elementary school, and can stand in the back of the gym and zoom in for great pictures. I am not a camera expert, but have enough experience with cameras to recognize that this is a really good one.

Had to get a camera for someone else.....went with canon and did not wanted something too expensive....this one made my day....The results are great and sometime I thought that they are better then my 6 yrs old D-SLR (worth 2k at that time)

Like using this camera. It's easy to use and takes great pictures! Just returned from some vacation time and had fun capturing pictures. My only complaint is that it's a little heavy to tuck in a purse but the trade off of good pictures is worth it.

This camera's buttons were poor. This digital camera burned up batteries at every 30 pictures.

I can't tell you enough how dissatisfied I am with this product. This camera is rated very highly by Consumer Reports. This purchase was the first very negative experience I had with Amazon and its affiliates.

This was actually purchased as a replacement lens cap for a Fujifilm 800 EXR, whose lenscap was inadequately attached. That original lenscap was lost deep in a South African goldmine, but I think this new one will never be a treasure for a future archaeologist.

Solid, easy to use. I'm using it with an NEX and with Minolta MD lenses, which work great - particularly with the Focus Peaking feature of the NEX.
