I consider myself cusping on the semi-pro level as I have several years of experience with mostly NIkon DSLRs. The weight around my neck with those heavy cameras can be over bearing when it comes to a full day of shooting.Was wanting a small camera that I could wear on a belt (with case loop) and with a zoom range that would work for 90% of my photo needs. This camera has that range (28mm-300mm), is light, provides excellent colors, has all the modes for shooting that I would ever care for, is decent when it comes to noise (anything over 800 is not pleasant). Since I live in sunny Florida and take most of my pics outdoors, this is rarely an issue.Very happy with my results so far and it will be my camera of choice when the Nikon creates pain. Only thing is, should have waited for price drop.........it is really a value below $150.

I was on a budget and need something light, and I am pleased with the quality of this camera and its photos considering all of that. The digital display is horrific in quality--the images look much better once uploaded.

It developed a black, lifeless patch on the monitor screen a few days after I first used it. Other than that it seems to work okay. I am far from USA, I need it and am unable to return it yet. But I will as soon as I can.

Well packaged, good price, instantly recognised by camera, absolutely no complaints at all. To steal a quote, does exactly what it says on the tin...

I bought this to replace an earlier model of the same basic camera. It was great but died so bought this one. It has a better zoom andworks great.

My attraction to and satisfaction for the Canon G15 echoed many of the sentiments expressed in other reviews and observations. By reverting back to the stripped down form factor of my tried & true G10, I am once again able to leave the house with an updated G15 in my back pocket which makes it infinitely better than any camera made that one leaves at home because it's too big to hassle with. My one disappointment is not with Canon regarding anything to do with the excellent performance of the G15, but with Adobe for NOT issuing a CAMERA RAW plug-in update for this camera for any edition of Photoshop other than their new CS6. I have a perfectly adequate edition of Photoshop CS5 and can not work on my RAW files with this camera in PS. That's a drag and a factor that needs to be out there if anyone is considering this camera and assuming that they can use older editions of Photoshop with the RAW files it shoots.

It works. The only complaint, and it's minor, is the cap doesn't come off and on as easily as the Canon one id (the one I lost). The leash strap is a nice touch.

I'm not a camera buff, so this one works great for me. Relatively inexpensive and easy to use. The companion program is also easy to navigate.

After some time it the battery sign kept flashing on the screen and the camera would shut down. I tried changing the battery a million times and using different brands, but that didn't help. The quality of the photos were excellent though!!!

meets a lot of my specs......great pic and video quality.......optical zoom great.......sound super.......a great buy for the money and simple to operate.......only wish it could recharge battery after each pic taken.

I read the reviews before buying, and even though a lot of people complained about battery life, I thought I'd give it a try (found a great deal for $69.) I got the camera, and about 15 minutes into my photos had to put in new batteries. Not even 40 minutes later, those were dead and I had to put in new batteries AGAIN. The quality was similar to my point-and-shoot canon powershot with no noticeable advantages. Despite the good deal (and the fact that all our batteries are free from couponing,) we STILL returned this camera because the battery life is so inconvenient.

I had a Canon Elf, but missed the better zoom lens. This satisfies my need for a great point and shoot camera, with additional features found in larger and more expensive cameras.

Had to send it in to Canon after 2 months.....they replaced it. Hope round 2 is better and I have a camera for a change

I know the review is late and I'm sorry!! The camera is great, mom carries it every place she goes, especially if any of her grandkids and great grandkids are going to be there. Great product, arrived quickly and packaged perfect!

Adapter is a bit hefty which is a good sign the way I see it. Fits well on the camera and isn't loose, just a tad tighter then the kit lens which I actually prefer. Mounting a lens on it doesn't give you that satisfying click like it does on the camera mount but it feels secure nonetheless and the fit is just right.
The lens release pin could be a bit easier to press but otherwise I have no complains and for the price that's a minor thing I can easily overlook.

We absolutely loved the 2009 model of this camera the SX120. When we saw this one came out, we thought we were ready for an upgrade, not because we needed it, but because the new upgrades seemed nice. I'm glad we upgraded. The 16x zoom is great (we had 10x before) and the 16 MP make a great difference. I was all excited about getting the new Cannon SX160-IS during Black Friday. I was finally able to put the camera through its paces during CES to discover some issues:-Camera shutter button is too sensitive, looks like a general issue, not just mine. Lots of accidental shots.-Video capture will show flicker when near CFL lights. My other Cannon does not do this.-Start-up and usage speeds are about the same as the SX130-IS.-Images/Video shows more grain than SX130-IS at same ISO/Resolution.The only real improvement is the additional zoom and the slight increase in zoom speed/reaction. The guy at staples let me return the camera, even after two months. I was very thankful.

This camera has the features of a larger digital SLR style camera in a smaller form factor. The zoom range is limited by not having interchangeable lenses, but that capability adds weight, size and, extra stuff to carry. This camera meets my need to have good quality images. The video capture is good also. If you have previously used a Canon camera the features buttons are the same as all the Canon line.

This was a birthday present for my wife. It takes good pictures and is easy to use. It has some interesting features like smile recognition. The G series definitely fills the hole between my big SLR and the crappy camera in our phones.

This unit replaced my original Canon charger and does the job well. Even looks like the original without the lettering.

I like the camera but I am noticing I go through batteries like crazy!!!Takes good pictures though! Maybe lithium batteries.

Okay, I needed a upgraded camera and this one is PERFECT. The battery life dosent last that long. The quality is 100%. I love this camera and YES - I would reccomend this camera. Thank you Canon.

This cap fits my camera perfectly and I haven't lost the cap because of the strap. I'm a happy camper!
