I often read reviews and do not submit them, making me what economists call a "free rider" in the information marketplace. I get tons of information from others, but rarely offer my own opinions and experiences unless they are strongly negative. I avidly keep track of prices and do abundant research before buying just about anything. In this case, it paid off, and being a believer in the ideal of an efficient marketplace, where production of good products should be rewarded just as much as poor ones should be punished with lower sales, I wish to contribute my opinion that this is a wonderful product for the money and just about everyone will be very pleased with it.I worked at a large company for 5 years and had a top of the line all-in-one. This printer is far superior; if I ran a big company, I'd buy one for every employee that needed a printer/scanner at all. Print from the breakroom. Scan a document to a PDF and pick it up on any networked computer. Excellent quality copies in bw and color, adequate speed, fabulous design and ease of use. Does not collect dust as you can keep it shut tight as a clamshell; when you print, the tray opens automatically with Cadillac grace. Hidden bottom-feeding paper tray and incredibly easy-to-load back feeder for photos.Get the driver off the internet; all three of my computers (running Windows 7, XP, and Vista) wirelessly print with no problems. I simply have no complaints at all, though if very high speed (printing many hundreds of pages all day) were a need, I might want a more industrial device.What can I say, I love this product and commend Canon on adding value to its already formidable brand by offering this technological marvel at a price point for which I have gotten comparative complete pieces of crap until now.

How can they sell a printer/scanner/fax and not have a feature to save the scanner material as a word document? Very disappointing to the point that I am returning this machine! Will only save scanned material into a PDF file.....

Received this printer and the CD that came with it would not install all the way with out error message( using windows 7).Had to down load a driver from the internet and got it working. Used the printer only on a couple of print jobs and now will not power up. I know it was a cheap priced printer but as far as i am concerned it is worthless. I would not recommend and would not buy again.

I ordered my Canon MP560 alongside my new MacBook Pro. I had previously read some reviews and noticed some people saying Canon Setup can be confusing. I was worried about this because I've never used a Mac before, so setting up a printer that might be "difficult" was concern of mine since I'm not familiar with troubleshooting on a Mac.However, this was the easiest printer setup I have ever done.I set mine up using wireless and this is the procedure I followed:1. Load ink into printer2. Plug printer into wall and turn power on (located beneath LCD screen.)3. Easily navigate setup process on Canon LCD screen and click OK on "Wireless Setup" This will locate your wireless network and prompt you for a password. Enter your wireless network password. Click OK. The blue WiFi light will appear on front of printer to confirm your connection.Next-4. Load Canon software disk into your Mac5. Follow the "Easy Setup" prompts (basically you will just click Next, next, next) :)Once installation is complete-6. Load "System Preferences" on your Mac and click on Printer/Fax icon.7. You will see a Canon Bonjour Scanner and a Canon MP560 Series MM9999999- click the "+" for both of these.8. Select connect via wireless (it will run a quick test)Viola! You're done.I had no need to download any additional drivers or visit the Canon website, nor did I read the instruction manual. I've tested the printing and it prints quickly and quietly with great quality.I couldn't be happier. The entire setup of this printer from taking it out of the box, to printing my first document, took a total of about 15 minutes. I definitely recommend this, especially to first time Mac users like myself. This will be a simple printing solution and it's a great deal considering the inexpensive price. Enjoy!Good luck! :)

This printer prints well. However, it sucks down ink like nobody's business. I've owned this printer for a couple of months and don't print that much and I've had to replace the ink cartridge once already and now I've got a message saying it's time to replace it again!Canon is making their money off of replacement ink not the machine itself. I won't buy another Canon for that reason.

This printer boasts that it supports wireless connections, but this simply doesn't work out of the box. If you connect your printer to the network and then try to connect to it from a Windows 7 or Windows XP machine, the printer will never show up. Even if you specify its IP address, you can never add this printer.The only way to connect to this printer is by installing a hideous suite of garbage software from Canon. The software bogs down your system startup by launching multiple services via your registry, it clutters your desktop (literally 7 shortcuts on the desktop) and start menus with garbage, and worse it doesn't work.I was able to print from my Windows 7 Ultimate PC exactly one time. Since then, the Canon software has totally failed to connect to the printer wirelessly. Because there's no way to connect to the printer except through their broken tools, you're completely at the mercy of Canon's garbage software. The only recourse when this happens is to switch to a USB cable.Do not buy this printer. It is a total setup and maintenance nightmare.

Our HP died last week(2nd HP's in three years). I was fed up with worthless software packages, HP pop-ups, "low" ink warnings at 50% (with links to HP websites, etc... Based on reviews here, we bought the HP560 wireless.Set-up: on a difficulty scale of 1-10 (10 being the msot difficult), I'd give this s 2 1/2. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. Did I mention that you must FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS??? Make sure you know your network's name and security p/w.We have 5 computers (3 Win-7s, 1 XP desktop and a Vista laptop), all set up to a home network. One of the laptops is a Gateway netbook (no CD drive). The only reason I gave the install process a 2 1/2 was that I had to load the drivers from the Canon website to set the netbook up with the printer. No mention of that step in the installaton process. Also, make sure you set the printer settings on the main computer to share the printer. After that, the set-up's a breeze. It took me about an hour to set up the printer on all 5 machines.Printing is quiet, quick and colors are vivid. Sanning and copying are a bit slow, but I bought this mainly for the wireless network printing.This was worth the $85 (especially since Best Buy had it for $100 and Office Depot had it "on sale" for $129).

I bought this printer not knowing what to expect because of the price. If not for the reviews I probably wouldn't have purchased this. The reviews actually swayed my vote in buying this printer!!!! And I'm so glad I did! I learned on Amazon if you are looking for a good product read the reviews because when people are spending money they are brutally honest! This is the easiest printer I ever worked with. It prints very fast with great clarity. The pictures come out great! Another perk is that it only has 2 ink cartridges to deal with. I love this printer! Thank you

Wireless connection sometimes works...most of the time not. We can even sit right in front of the printer and it still won't print.Sometimes it takes 10 min for it to print or we just end up hooking it up via usb cable to get the printing started...so not wireless. This is our second wireless printer and we didn't have such issues with our first one. It was a waste of our money. The scanner also works very insufficient and we are very upset that we wasted our money on a product that doesn't perform it's promised functions. My husband knows a lot about computers and its software and the product is just junk.

This printer is not flexible enough for true business application. In my estimation it is one large Photo Copier. Primary options for "Save As" are JPEG, TIFF, BMP, may save as PDF and Note Pad txt file. No OCR therefore requires copy from PFD or Note Pad to other document format (Word/Excel) which may cause errors or stray characters and a waste of time. It also uses ink quickly under regular print/copy document mode. I purchased this equipment due to size and the Canon reputation. I sure there are other Canon models which may better suit my needs, but this printer has been a disappointment. It does produce excellent photo copies.

This is a great printer , after the Printer from hell the Epson Workforce 600 , this is a blessing ! The workforce pissed me off so much i had a medication relapse and carried the think outside and threw it on the concrete ! Yes 150 dollars flying out the window ! Im usually an HP person had an open box printer for 10 years , but the cannon so is excellent.Im into simplicity the software that comes with this is worth the price alone , the ease of setup was amazing many people have problems trying to figure out the manual but i just did the usual.Installed the software , and followed setup instructions.Just make sure when you want to connect to a router you go into the machine and enable the wireless under divice settings and when the blue light comes on you are active.When you hit print there is some delay , but if you print more than one it makes up for it by printing documents fast...well that all for now , i just belive that good feedback is as important as bad feedback...

The setup and wifi is a breeze if you have at least moderate experience with computers, so don't even listen to all the people here who claim that they are. These are probably the kind of people who double-click links and use the scroll arrows. As for the functionality of the printer, works well enough. I haven't printed any photos yet, but I'm not someone who really needs that anyway. The price is also EXCELLENT for it's quality. As a general product, I give it 4 stars because, as with all printers, it's inevitably going to cost an arm and a leg for ink. But amongst other printers, I see no reason it doesn't deserve 5.

Overall quite satisfied but for a couple points:- The paper feeder in the back is not consistently picking up the paper- The wireless printer mode works but not the scanner, at least not on my Win7 machineNot a big deal, I run wired.Otherwise, works like a charm. I bought this printer after my old one had decided to die. For the price, its got some good features and prints fairly well. I've had no problems scanning or printing pictures like some previous people. Without downloading too much software off the company's site, i was able to just plug the USB in to my MacBook and have it set up right away so that was nice. I set up wireless printing the way they explained it in the manual and then connected through my MacBook, but it didn't seem to work. While this does suck a little bit, it still doesn't change my judgement on in it. The only "bad" thing i can think of is that it can take a minute or 2 to warm up before printing. Other than that, the printer is great.

I have gotten a chance to use the scanner, copier, and printer. The quality is superb and the speed with which it prints the document is great for a home printer. I had no trouble hooking the printer up and making it wireless. It doesn't take up as much space as my last all-in-one, but it capable of just as many functions. I haven't used it yet as a fax because I would have to carry it to the phone line to plug it in, but it is light enough that it shouldn't be a problem.

I purchased the printer on 12-29-09. The printer setup was a breeze. The directions were simple and step-by-step. I installed the software on two relatively new Dell desktops--one has Windows 7 Ultimate and the other has Vista. You can use USB or setup for wireless--I used wireless, it's one of the reasons I chose this printer. I read a number of complaints about people having problems with setup which spooked me a little prior to purchase. I wonder now if perhaps they didn't follow the directions. Remember, always follow the directions--I have learned this the hard way.The printer is amazing (maybe I'm too easily amazed). It's compact with a reasonable footprint. Everything is enclosed so that dust cannot enter the printer. The front cover drops automatically when printing begins. The printer is very attractive and would look classy and nice in about any setting.I have printed several documents and in my opinion the quality is great--no compaints and this printer sits next to a Dell color laser printer. It's not a laser printer but the quality is very good. To be fair I have not printed any photos yet. I purchased the printer for three reasons;backup, wireless, and photos. I will try to remember to update after I print some pictures, although I'm sure they will be good, I'm not expecting professional quality from a printer I paid $85 for.I used to be an HP guy but I switched to Canon about three years ago by chance. Canon's customer service keeps me on board, it's still in the US and they really care getting you through any issues with a minimum of heartache. I have two Canon All-In-One printers for my business and they have been ultra reliable. No real issues with three years of heavy use and they're entry level machines. You never know how good the product is until you need help--I'm sticking with Canon until they move customer service out of the US anyway. Good luck and I highly recommend this printer and Canon in general.

It's just okay. I updated my operating system and had to retire my old HP printer because it was no longer supported. Unlike with the old HP, which is built like a tank and has never given me a problem, the colors from the Canon turn out too red, at least on the economy photo paper I've been accustomed to using over the years for school projects. If anyone has a remedy for this, I'd really appreciate hearing from you.

I don't know how it compares to other printers but it does better than a Kodak ESP 7. The 7 was just a heap of trouble, bought it on account of the ink cost comparison which didn't come to play once the print head failed. The 560 is really friendly, set up was easy, printing docs was pretty nice and even tried out a picture, which it delivered without trouble.I always like canon gear, I think from now on, I'll stick.

I tossed my HP Officejet 5780 into the trash bin. It broke and was bleeding me dry with ink costs. I Never liked this HP all in one unit and it's software tried to take over my PC. Even now that I have uninstalled it, it still is trying to reinstall itself. What a pain in the butt. However, this Canon Prima mx340 is the complete opposite of my HP. It is a dream to use and only costs $80. simply an amazing value. The ink cartridges are a lot cheaper than the HP and I don't have to replace them nearly as often. I use the printer for home use and a small business. I print up flyers and send out letters. It does the job without a hitch. I'm in love with it. I haven't tried it for photos yet, but that is not a big deal for me. It's generally chaeaper to have a pro print up your photos anyway.

I purchased this printer after my Epson died on me. I wanted a fax/printer/scanner with an automatic document feeder that was compatible with my iMac. After reading all the reviews on various printers, I was very nervous about purchasing any of them. It seems all multipurpose scanners have some sort of problem. I love this one. I use it in a home office and it has been great for me. My only complaint about this machine is that it doesn't have a card reader. My Epson had one and I used it often. But all in all this printer has been worth that one missing feature. I have had this in my office for about a month. If I incur any problems, I will update my review. (I have not used the wireless function on the printer.) It has certainly been worth the price! I am happy with this purchase.

6ave shipped this (cheap) printer. However, it didn't work at all, USB connection a no-go... Called Canon directly, and their support agent walked me through some steps to test. Agreed that it was DOA.Canon shipped a different printer to replace this piece of junk.

This all-in-one is priced quite low and is a good buy for the price. The print quality is excellent but set-up is a bit difficult. The printed manual is somewhat confusing and there are no directions as how to use the scanner in the booklet. The scanner is noisy and the printer takes time before printing.

In the short time I have had this All In One it has preformed well. The WiFi set up was very simple. The provided user interface when printing from a PC is OK. I am used to using my previous Lexmark AIO interface. I am hoping with a little more usage I will adapt to the Cannon interface. I would recommend this All In One to others. I will update this review if I run into any issues.

The printer is really good it has so many features and things you can do with it - its amazing. I gave it 2 starts for ease of use because the manual totally sucks and i've had to email canon on how to do simple things like double sided printing and getting it to print web pages in only black and white. But once you figure it out its great. I haven't had it long enough to give accurate feedback on the ink usage but from everything else I would recommend it for the price.ps (I took back the kodak ESP 7250 before getting this one and its night and day)

This affordable printer is well made and has beat out two different HP (6500 and 4500 officejets) printersin my recent personal experience. I had nothing but problems with them, but the Canons just cheerfully plod on and on... they are a bit slower comparatively, but most of us don't need speedy volume printing- we can go to a copyshop for that. I find it odd that I could not find Canon printers at either Staples or Best Buy, so I gota few (for home and office) online , and gave it 5 stars for being reliable, easy to use, well priced, and above all,problem free- who has time to tangle with tech support, exchanges, shipping back, and refunds? For low keyhome and office printing needs, Canon rules.

This really is the number one printer for a reason. The best way to describe this printer is to say, it just works! Seriously, I have setup many printers in the last 10+ years and nothing has been close to this good. The wireless was cake to setup at both houses, the scanner is easy to use, and duplexing is superb. I know everyone wants to hear a con so here it goes. It does take a little long to go from completely off to printing, but I know it has to align the heads and all that jazz. Also, I have had some trouble scanning a page and sending it directly to a computer wirelessly.

Follow the set up instructions to a T, or you will meet with failure after failure until you see that you must not only turn on the printer at the exact right moment, but also connect the usb cable at the right moment, too. If you do those, it will finally work. I tried at least 6 times and was on the verge of calling the dreaded tech support line when, after a good night's sleep, I tried yet again and it finally worked. The scanner works great for 50 bucks. We shall see if it's any good in the long run. Meanwhile, Canon's product designers need to go back to the drawing board and really dumb down the wifi installation process some more.

THIS PRINTER GETS THE JOB DONE. I USE IT AT HOME FOR WORK RELATED ISSUES AND FOR MY OWN PERSONAL USE. I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES OF MECHANICAL FAILURE. THE SETUP INSTRUCTIONS REQUIRED A SECOND READ TO FULLY GRASP WHAT THE AUTHOR WAS TRYING TO CONVEY, OTHER THAN THAT I AM ENJOYING MY PRINTER.

I've had this camera for a few weeks now and I am in love with it. I'm a film student and wanted to buy a camera that i=I can shoot great quality shots with but I didn't want to have to pay 2 or 3 grand for an entry level professional grade camera. I had been looking at the 2009 model of this camera for a while and was just about to buy it when this one came out. Boy am I glad I did. Even though it's essentially the same camera, the things that are added to this model and the lower price was what made me buy it the week it came out.Ok now that I've explained the reasoning for me buying the camera, i'll get to the quality of it. The picture on it is simply amazing, especially when shooting in cinema mode native 24p. The touch screen is awesome and allows for a larger screen by eliminating the need for physical buttons. The dual SD card capabilities are great as well.The only "bad" part of this camera is that to be able to edit AVCHD footage that is shot in native 24p you have to have a video program that can handle it, free programs like iMovie and Windows Movie Maker won't process it. You'll have to go with programs like Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere to be able to edit this footage.But despite that minor con this camera is amazing. It's great price for the quality of video you get.

printed a couple pictures and it has a good quality! just as good looking pictures as my old expensive printer! havent printed too much on it yet for the cartridges to run out so i cant comment on that..but im impressed with the quality. it doesnt come with the printer cord but i also ordered that from amazon for only 2.50! i refused to pay the 30 at wal mart and best buy..i think it was well worth the little money i payed for it! and the free shipping i got is amazing and super fast!

This prints fine but is pretty expensive since the wireless function doesn't work unless you are first installing the software. once it goes to idle, it gives me a communication error that I can't clear except for reinstalling. so unless I have 20 minutes for that I just plug it in to print. Could just be because I have a mac. both my wife's and my mac have the same problem with the printer. So for a low level none wireless it is not worth the price.

For an easy wireless network setup without Bloatware, do this:1) Remove all the tape and the blank print cartages2) Install the new cartages (careful to put Black on the right).3) Plug it in, turn it on and let it settle down.4) Follow the directions for Windows 7 setup on page 62 of the manual (yes, even if you don't have Windows 7)5) Follow steps 1-6, but at step 7, select "easy setup".6) Let it find your network, and select it7) Enter your network password and you're done with the printer.8) On your PC, select "Start" and then "Computer" (or use windows exploder) to see the printer on our network by selecting "network" in the left window pane.9) Select MX340 Series multifunction device, and Win 7 will automatically download the drivers and set it as you default printer and fax.You're done. (It took me longer to write this review than to set up the printer.)

If you need a 4-in-1 Wi-Fi printer, scanner, copier & fax. This is the one for you. Easy to set up either hard wired or on your wireless network. It does everything perfectly clear, fast & of great quality.I have used all 4 parts of my Canon printer & all functions work great. Also this printer does 4" x 6" pictures also comes out great. No more spending money on having my pictures developed Now I'll just buy some photo paper (by the way thecomes with 5 photo sheets) printer hook up my camara or print from my laptop. Simple hook-up, easy printing & affordable price especially when you consider what you get for your money.

When we got the printer i was a bit wary of how well it would print off my pictures that i had been itching to print off for months and when i saw how well it printed i told my son not to touch even though i trust he wouldnt mess with it anyway. the ink consumed was not as much as i thought it was. so please if you think about buying this printer please do becuase it was one of the best buys i ever made!

I just received this printer 4 days ago. I am very pleased at how easy it was to setup on my mac (osX). I have been a purchaser of HP printers for years, and I've HAD IT with the misfeed and the multiple colors in one cartridge that will not allow black ink printing when one of the colors runs out. I read a lot of reviews on different printers on consumer reports website, and this one was the best for under $100. I haven't really used the scanner yet to see how well it works, but I did use it to align the print head, or whatever it is it has you do at setup. The wi-fi was pretty easy to setup and the color prints that I made were very VERY good. It has a lot of nice features, and it has a decent size footprint that is no bigger than my last HP flatbed scanner/copier/printer. I am not sure how long the color cartridges will last, as they look pretty small, but oh well. I am pleased so far with this printerUPDATE: printer still works great, only complaint is that for some reason, I have to keep reconnecting it to my wireless network. the little rotary dial thing isn't exactly great for putting in a 12 character password, ugh. however, I don't print much from the network, but even if I wanted to, not sure I could. Don't Drop Anything In The Paper Feeder-You'll never get it out. I had the printer for 2 months and a piece of styrofoam fell into the paper feeder. Simply, these printers are not made to be serviced. I could not simply unscrew and remove pieces of the printer to get at the foam. In the end a piece of plastic broke off and that was it-time for a new printer.

This printer was worth the money. I needed a new one since my lexmark broke down, so i figured i would try a Canon. I found this printer easy to set up and it works great. I really don't have any complaints.

This printer is pretty good overall. I bought it for about $80 total, and have been using it for a month now. its been doing its job well. set was simple, took about 30 mins. wireless option makes it very easy to use. You must have a wireless internet connection with a router in order to use the wireless function of this printer. the scanning jobs are done wirelessly also, so your laptop can be in another room and the scan job will appear on you laptop. you can print on both sides of paper and the printer can flip the paper itself. but one time when printing on both sides, the paper did get stuck in the printer and i had to pull the jammed paper out.overall, this is a pretty good printer. have been using it for a month now, and havent had any major problems with it. only one issue so far with it is that the print jobs take quite a bit of time to get done (even more if you are printing on both sides). but the convinience of not having to take your laptop up to the printer everytime makes it worth it.hope this review helped...

I am very pleased with this purchase. It was so easy to install. Just plug it in and "go"! Rarely had to look at the instructions - easy to use. Good quality. Picture printing- which I had never done before- was also just a matter of a few choices on on the computer print menu. I would recommend this printer to everyone on a budget or not.

Bought this for my iMac to replace an old scanner & printer. Wanted duplex printing for bulletin I prepare. This has suited my needs perfectly at a resonable price. Picture quality on photo paper plus has been excellent. Recommend this for an all around home printer or for a small business.

We bought this printer recently to use on a wireless network with two computers, a new imac w/ OS 10.6.2 and an older laptop running Windows XP. Both were easy to set up with the drivers I downloaded from the Canon USA website (see the previous reviewer's comments for which drivers to download for the mac 10.6; I also downloaded the onscreen user's manual, which is nicely done). Setting up the printer on the wireless network was also easy using the lcd control panel, except maybe for entering the encryption code, which was a bit tedious (but, hey! it was my choice to secure the network!).We are very impressed with the quality of the printing, copying and scanning. We immediately tried a 4x6 borderless print from a photo collection taken with a 1.7 mp camera, and it came out great. Of course, keep in mind that canon ink tanks carry an imbedded chip, so cheap aftermarket replacements are not an option.The one thing that did surprise me, and not in a good way, is the power cord: it's 2-prong and non-directional. Our 10-year-old Epson has a 3-prong plug. I thought they stopped using non-directional plugs 20 years ago. Even $5 alarm clocks and $10 lamps at least have directional 2-prong plugs. I checked all the packaging and literature for a UL certification or evidence of compliance with some equivalent standard, and could find none. I'm no electrical engineer, but these standards are adopted for all household appliances to keep dum-dums like us from electrocuting ourselves. I know all these things are made in China, but I would have thought they would at least comply with basic US safety standards.I haven't yet decided to return the unit for this reason, but I'm left wondering exactly what I should do. I can't believe Canon would deliberately violate basic consumer safety guidelines to save a couple of pennies on a power cord, but I'm not sure what to think.

For 36 bucks... this printer is fantastic!The B&W copies are crisp, the color copies rich and clean.You simply can't go wrong with this Cannon printer.I have not had it for too long... (about 3 months).... so I can't rate how long the ink cartridges last yet.It is so easy to set-up and use, you wonder if you've missed something.The only negative thing I can say... it is a bit noisy when it prints.But for 36 bucks, who cares!!!! (the prints are great). Buy it!!!!!!

In my goal to create a wireless home network, I purchased the Canon Wireless MP-560 printer. I haven't bought a new printer since my old Win 98 Dell days. That printer cost twice as much back then as my new Cannon. I'm not a professional photographer so my needs were ease of installing to home network, good quality print of pages/photos, reasonable cost of replacement print ink, and ability to scan/save documents to my PC. My 2nd goal this year is organization - and scanning all the documents from my files to PC/USB will eliminate 95% of the paper.I setup the printer last night to wirelessly connect to three laptops through my Cisco Valet. I was uneasy with the task before me as setting up technology usually involves curse words and a frustration break-down. Happy to report the total setup time was two hours. Connecting to the network took the most time and only because I missed a step. Canon's user manual could be improved as there are multiple options for some steps depending on your operating system. Tried to call Cannon technical support but they were closed in the evening. But Cisco Valet support is available 24/7 and, after hearing the networkng steps, pointed out I incorrectly selected to connect via USB instead of network. Problem solved.I've printed pages and scanned a few documents and I'm completely satisfied. Fast and easy to print/save high quality documents. I also ordered replacement ink cartridges from Amazon and the cost was so reasonable that the printer will pay for itself in six months.
