This printer is a piece of junk. Every time I try to print something it tells me I am out of one of the inks. I then have to turn it off (wait) then turn it back on again (wait forever for it to come on) then it prints. Or maybe it doesn't. Even if I just replaced the inks, it tells me I'm out!!!!!TOTALLY FRUSTRATING. Piece of crap.

I just got through setting up this printer.... so I'll update my review again when I've used it for a month or so. But, I just want to say that set up was super easy and intuitive for me. I didn't have any trouble unpacking and setting up the printer or any problems connecting wirelessly. I was concerned about set up based on some of the reviews, but no need to worry after all. The CD takes you through the set up pretty effortlessly -- the only thing that might trip some people up is setting up the wireless connection on the printer itself - you have to hit the set up button on the printer and then select set up wireless connection -- from there the printer does mostly everything and the software takes it from there. Anyway, hope this helps clear up concerns about set up. So far printer and scanner work -- I'll review how I actually like it in a month or so.__________________Update; 2/22/2012So, I've been using this printer for a couple months now. No problems. I think that this was a great product for a great price. It does everything you could ever need, duplex print & scan (which is super convenient & freakin awesome!), fax, the usual stuff. Printing is good quality - no complaints. No complaints about ink consumption either - but I don't do a whole lot of printing and I definitely don't print photos. Love the wireless feature - it has been amazing! I work at the kitchen table and the printer is in the guest room - no problems printing. My only complaint is that this model is a bit slow at printing and scanning - but I can live with that for all the features you get at a great price!

I bought in Feb 2012 and now it is dead. I tried different outlets in my house, tried unplugging the power supply from the printer and replugging it back in and nothing. I switched from HP to Canon since my HP Printers always seemed to go bad after the warranty expires and now I can add Canon to my list. I will try a different vendor. I will see if Canon will replace this since it is still less than a year from original purchase.

This was a great printer. Great print quality and a good copier/scanner too. Biggest Con was that it had no document feeder. I purchased it in 2007. Now 2012, I've had the printer 4 1/2 years, but alas, its power supply died. There are ALOT of comments and questions on FixYa.com etc., regarding this printer with the power supply dying, and/or the printer just stops working. Thankfully for many, a common fix is to disconnect all power from the printer, let it sit for 30 minutes, then power it back on. For the rest of us, its the power supply. This printer is now discontinued, so to find a Canon K30271 AC Power supply has really been a challenge. I'll be calling Canon to see if they have one; but if not, my sweet MP810 is off to e-cycle. In the meantime, I've purchased an HP OfficeJet 8600 Premium and if the Canon can be repaired, I'll use it for a backup.

I bought this to replace my wired HP printer. My HP worked fine. It just wasn't wireless and I really wanted wireless. I wanted wireless for both printing and scanning. Well the wireless never worked. Even after contacting Canon support and getting help it didn't work. It said it was attached wirelessly but I sure couldn't get it to print or scan wirelessly. Then I used it to scan with a wired connection for two days. The next time I went back to scan, it no longer scanned at all. Just no response when I tried to scan. So at this point I had a big giant printer with the same functionality as my much smaller HP printer that it was replacing and that still worked. Then, all of a sudden it stopped printing right in black ink. It came out all faded. I replaced the cartridge and still it printed faded or sometimes in color when it should be in black and something not at all. Now tonight it quit printing all together. It acts like it is printing. But nothing is on the paper when I finishes. I have had it less than 6 months I think. So I will be going back to HP I think.

Prints wide carriage paper and card stock without issue. Absolutely no jams. However it drinks ink. I've seen it kill a partly ued cartridge just doing its startup routine.Draft quality sucks terribly. You have to print in normal mode all the time.I had bought it through another supplier in my country, not Amazon.

Overall this printer has performed best of the printers I have had. I owned HP's and Dell over the years. They both has feed problems. The bad side is it uses ink quickly. It also will show ink is out when it really isn't. When it shows ink out I press the "OK" button to continue printing. It will print quit a lot more until it runs out. I only recommend for light duty.

What do you want? Reliability. What do you get? Yelling at printer like an idiot. This just frequently stops working for no apparent reason. Communications error. I have MacBooks at home. This thing is junk. I would tell you not to get it, but what are you going to get? The rest of the printer world is junk, too. I am just dreading another hour with the dang Canon guy, where he makes me check that it is getting wifi (yes, of course! don't you think I would check?) and all the other ridiculous steps I have to go through before he finally emails me all the links of all the software I have to download again and then...small cry of joy...it works again.Who the heck wants that, though? I don't want great service, I want a dang printer that stays working!

I don't actually know how to write a review for this printer without just repeating the f-word over and over again. I've come so close to heaving this piece across the room, I'm just concerned that throwing this worthless hunk of shit will damage something that's actually worth a damn. The wireless never works properly. Sometimes, it'll just leave entire bits off of a page, but I consider myself lucky when this happens, as it generally just doesn't print at all! The ink is overpriced, and so I try not to ever use the printer because I can't afford the ink. So when I do need to print something, it's usually important. And naturally, the printer NEVER EVER WORKS. It just doesn't. I'm only writing this review right now to keep myself from tossing this printer out of the window.

I bought this printer approximately 2 years ago. Unfortunately the printer will no longer load the paper without jamming it. I have attempted troubleshooting and did google searches and this seems to be a common problem. Some people were able to get it to work again but I am not one of the lucky ones!I love the scanner software it comes with, love saving as a pdf file but it did take a little bit to really learn how to use it and find the software on my computer, it is called Navigator 3.1.I find the install tedious and the wireless drops from my computer making it a real pain to have to always reinstall it.I am really sad to say it but I don't think I will be purchasing another Canon.I bought an Epson to replace this one, will see how this one goes.

I've never been so happy with a printer before. Great quality. No issues setting it up or with the wireless, no paper jams, nothing- very impressed so far (have had it for 1 year now). The scanner and copier are easy to use. Scanner is a bit slow, so not good if you need to scan a lot. One ink cartridge will last me an entire semester (~5 months) and I'll go through about 800 pages back and front. I print A LOT and use it every day. If you have the settings on correctly you can maximize a cartridge, also buy the 210XL cartridge because xl has more ink and only costs a slightly more than the 210. I will warn you, if you have your settings on "grayscale" it will use color ink. I set it to grayscale b/c i thought it would use only black in and less of it, but in fact my color ink was gone and i couldn't understand why until I did some research.EDIT:One day it just died... like that. No warning, I didn't do anything to it, it just went kaput after about 2 years and yes I did use it a lot. Sadly these things aren't built to last - because if they were the company wouldn't make as much money. I was happy while it lasted and I don't really feel like there are any other brands out there that would've outlasted this anyway.

My old, trusty iP4000 finally wore out, and I purchased the iX6520. My photos are darker and not as brilliant as my former ones.Also, the ink cartridges are smaller for the same price (plus they are not transparent, so you can't see the ink level). The ip4000 must have been one of Canon's best, because they are in demand for a high price, and they are extinct. Just my two cents worth.

I own 2 HP printers before, 2 Epson and now 2 Canon Printers. I have no problem with any of them and the only reason I picked one over the other is who has the biggest sale at the time. And the MP560 was 70 bucks at Frys and I was in a market for a scanner that cost about the same. As this can do a lot of things well, it doesn't do anything that great and hence the price range.Features:My 2004 Canon i960 is still my photo printer, while the MP560 does a good job, the 3 color inks are no match for 5 color inks of the i960 for skin tone. For printing regular word document it is on the same line as Epson. For some reason I always thought HP (Officejet 6110) looked the best in the eyeball test for B&W document. This is a minor thing, since the Canon letters are very sharp, maybe the black isn't like HP. The problem with photo printers is that they waste inks when you don't even use it. Canon inks dry up much more then the HP. I was tossing color inks when I barely used them in a year. I am hoping this newer printers ink type is a little more efficient and I like the two black ink tanks. I didn't time the printouts nor measure how much ink it will cost, but it seem to be on par with my other printers or a little faster. There is auto duplex printing.The scanner spec is similar to Canon LiDE100 Color Image Scanner (2923B002), which I think works fine for quick copies, but is not good enough to archive photo prints. I thought the image was a little burry and if you turn on the mask feature then you get too many artifacts that is not in the original photo. I scanned the canon's CD for fun and that looked great. Scanning was fast enough. I just can't recommend this for high quality photo scan. I would probably pick up a Epson Perfection V30 Color Scanner if I get serious about scanning photo. I have been scanning more documents into PDF and missed the document feeder of the Officejet that I gave away (still works fine, but couldn't do PDF).Wifi was new in printers about a year a so ago and I though nice but not worth it. Now that I got multiples computers it is a must buy feature. I first had to use an usb card to printer from one computer to another. This I turned on printer sharing on the computers and have to leave one on as a print server to work. The wifi is much faster than the print server and you don't have to keep the other computer on. Wifi setup for the MP560 was really easy, you set up the printer settings first then enter the SSID. Then your computers hooked to the router and your wifi laptop will find it when you do the CD setup. I got this printer working on a Window 7 64bit laptop as well as a Vista 64 on my main computer without issues. You can print, scan to computer, scan from computer via wifi. It is almost as fast as the usb connection, or you won't notice the different.The design is really nice and modern; I did like it better than anything HP or Epson had in the same price range. It looks like a little drawer. Very boxies and you might not know if it is a printer. There are two paper tray locations; you have to set which one you want to use, one can't over ride the other like in the office printer. You can keep the printer door close and when it prints it kicks out. The hidden screen is very easy to use with the iPod like scroll wheel. It is much heavier the Epson printers and the depth is a lot more then you realize at home. I been using Canon software and think it works very well with their product.Issues:Nothing really for this price range. I couldn't replace my other printers in for photo and might have to get a better scanner for photo also. No fax, but that is not used much.I thought about returning this for the Canon PIXMA MX860 Wireless All-In-One office Printer which has the scan resolution I was looking for and the document feeder plus fax that I can use in a home office, but at this price and all the features you can't go wrong here. I would not spend over a 100 for this printer.

Absolutely the worst printer in the history of computing. Had it for over a year, has never worked right. Replaced with Hewlitt. Drivers won't download, hangs up constantly, won't work from wireless or cable, etc. Avoid Canon at all cost.

I just bought this printer almost a year ago , used it ONE time and it won't turn on anymore. I can't even get my computers to read it when I plug it into them. Printer worked for me at the beginning,but not anymore. I wouldn't recommend this printer to anyone. I even tried to get help with it and you can't get any answers. I would love to return it and get a new one, but I think my warranty is way past.

I hate having to keep my printer and monitor calibrated to each other. The Pro-10 allows me to print with reliable white balance using plug-ins for Photoshop and Lightroom. The color I see on my Adobe RGB calibrated monitor is what I get in my prints. The Pro-10 prints quickly and quietly. Ink useage rate is acceptable. Canon has finally gotten replacement ink in stock on their web site.

when it prints it is fine, but you will spend a fortune in ink over time, and then it will implode for no reason, as a preset thing to buy another. and you will be stuck with more ink, and the repairs will be costly, even though after reading reviews on other sites I truly believe these are set to fail. So that is it, crappy product, no service. and even if you want to scan (that requires NO INK), you will be unable to because that is the way this product works - nothing works if you do not have all ink cartridges in and all functions working. SO it is not salvageable as keeping to scan. junk.The good - print quality is good, costs ALOT WHEN YOU ADD UP THE COST OF INK,The bad - lousy company, garbage throw away product. so, fine, throw in a landfill every two years, but wait, you just opened yet another ink cartridge? that sucks, because now you have lost $50+ in ink besides. and good luck returning your unused ink. I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND CANON, did not read any longterm reviews before buying, but have read things from long term owners as myself.

A major improvement over a more expensive HP 3-1 that I just threw away because it was impossible to troubleshoot problems With a single function printer is sooo much easier and Canon is definitely a cut above the rest.

Canon needs to seriously rethink it printer product line.This printer is not even compatible with Mountain Lion (why is Pixma Pro 1 compatible and Pro 10 not?) -- check out the canon website if you doubt this.The setup process is incredibly un user friend.In fact, the printer is ANTI USER FRIENDLY.Maybe Canon should stick to cameras and lenses.We had to return it.

Listen up I bought this thing out of necessity I had a Dell V515W and it was a total POS!I heard good things about the Pixma Line so I thought Id give it a shot and I opted for this guy because of the autofeed option which comes in really handy from time to time.Ok so Ive had this printer for abou 4 months now and Im convinced that it flat out cannot be beat.Heres Why1. It does everything Print, Scan, Copy, Fax, Auto-Document Feed Scan (all great to have in one printer sice I run my own home business)2. Its prints FANTASTIC Photos of almost any size and does it borderlessly. Im an amature photographer, and graphic designer and this Cannon printer has done nothing but impress me every time I hit print.3. It has wireless so I can print anything from anywhere in my house with no wires!4. Its got pretty damn good carttidge life. its been 4 months now and im still on the original in box tanks. I keep waiting for the printer to tell me they are low but it just keeps on going. (Medium usage)5. (AND PERHAPS MOST IMPORTANTLY) It does all this with NO HASSLE!! IMO this is the main and best feature. My old Dell claimed it had all the same features as the Cannon but yet they never worked. It would decided when and where it wanted to print. Sometimes it would print wireless sometimes it wouldnt print at all. It was always giving me some kind of error. No so with that Cannon, its goes to sleep and when I hit print (From anywhere on any machine) it springs to life and gives me what I want right away! Its soo nice!Ok folks you can decide but I'll tell you that Im one of the most critical people you will meet when it comes to products and with this printer Im not kidding Cannon has earned themselves a customer for life!Matt AcuffMBA Candidate 2012M.J. This is the third i90 Printer I've bought in the last 6 years. It's portable, it's a workhorse that just keeps going, and it takes up very little real estate on my desk. I don't use it for photos as often as just every day printing. It's great!

Haven't had it long, so things could change, but... So far it's worked just fine. I bought this to replace an older Pixma printer which was still working OK after four years, but I wanted to go wireless. All the wireless print-only devices I looked at cost quite a bit more than this unit and the copier function, at least, seemed like a useful thing to have so I went for it.The packaging is impressively robust - like a double-hulled battleship. Somewhere along the way something tried to poke through the side of the box but it didn't penetrate the inner layers so no problem there. Instructions are straightforward and well illustrated. (I counted at least four printed documents warning you to treat the printhead gently and how to insert it, as well as an on-screen slideshow on the built in LCD. If you screw that up, it's your own fault.) Make sure you find all the little orange tabbed bits of tape and remove them - check twice, there are a lot of them.The footprint is larger than the printer it's replacing, but that's to be expected given the dimensions of the scanner component. It doesn't weigh much more and, therefore, feels a little less robust but the construction seems more than adequate for something that's not going to be moved around a lot. It's got the same four ink tanks I'm used to, though slightly smaller in size (#221 vs. #6) with the typical oversized pigment black for text. I expect they'll last about the same with, of course, the first set draining out early.Set up was easy. It detected my wireless router and once I entered the access key it was happy. I then installed the drivers and other software to a Windows 7, 64-bit, system (using the WIndows Vista instructions) and it was all straightforward, including finding the printer on the network. The included performance check tool makes it easy to find a good spot in the house for best reception. (I had to keep reminding myself that I could put it anywhere convenient since there was only the power cord to consider.) I then went to an older Windows XP box and did the same setup there. We'll be doing a Mac in the near future as well as one or two other Windows machines.Text is crisp on decent inkjet compatible paper and the two glossy prints I've produced so far are beautiful. In general, it's always a lot cheaper to have prints made at someplace like your corner pharmacy, grocery store, Costco, etc. and the quality will probably be even better, but when you need a couple of prints NOW it's nice to know they'll look really nice.One comment about ink: I made the mistake of trying some non-OEM ink in my existing Pixma printer early this year and it was not a success. It worked OK for a while, but then it gummed up some of the nozzles. Text smeared easily and photos didn't look all that great, especially in the densest shadows. Cleaning a gummed up printhead is doable, but not enough fun to be worth saving a few bucks. I've never had problems with the Canon ink "going stale" even in cartridges that have sat in the machine for a year or more, or months between photo print jobs. Your mileage may vary, and you may find a brand that works great, but I'm sticking with the "Canonical" brand, if you'll pardon the pun.

This machine is amazing! A great product from Canon [perhaps because is made in Thailand and not in China... ;-) ]. The quality of the scans and color accuracy in printing is excellent. The multi function (including the Wi-Fi) have been perfected to where once you become familiar with is a breeze to operate. Worth every penny!

I did quite a bit of research before purchasing this printer, including reading the reviews on this site. The positives are that it is pretty much as advertised. Fairly easy to set up (a little lengthly, but good directions to follow) and easy to use. Faxing and copying are easy. As far as scanning is concerned, I really like the way it wirelessly sends the scanned documents to the any of the computers set up for wireless as a PDF document. It is also easy to include multiple scanned documents into one PDF file. I could not do this as easily with my previous printers, which were all HP.The negatives. The printing is a bit slow. For me, I am usually somewhere else in the house working and by the time I get up and go to the printer to get the printed pages, it is usually about finished. But, if you are in a hurry, it is definitely not the fastest print I've experienced. Also, the print quality is acceptable, but could be better, as compaired to HP's I've worked with.All and all, for the money, I would definitely recommend this product.

I can't give a decent review of this printer because I bought it on the advice of one of my daughter's and since my other daughter was starting a new business I gave the Canon Photo Printer to her to help her with her business.I have always like Canon products having used their cameras for years. This printer sounded like a wonderful new creation from Canon and AMAZON had a very good price point on my purchase.

This printer/scanner/fax worked great printing from my PC wirelessly for a while. Without explanation, the 'wireless' part stopped working. I had to buy the correct cable and attach it to both the laptop and the printer to accomplish any printing. No amount of "customer support", from Canon or elsewhere restored my wireless printing abilities. All the drivers are updated; No idea why the "wireless" part of printing no longer works. Scanning "wirelessly" still seems to work, but what a pain! How the heck do you make this thing work? This is not supposed to be hard. The please wait "a while" messages from the printer are so entertaining while it churns and churns. And then the ink runs out pretty quick too.

Великолепно

Very nice, sits on my mother's desk without taking up to much room. She just wanted something to print memories with without causing a whole bunch of clutter. This is it!

Good purchase. It works well. The only problem I have with it is getting the printer to print the two sided reports all the time. I would not change it for the Epson I had before.

Printer works OK but it is quite large. If was positioned as a 'compact' printer but once you open the page feeder and output tray it is huge :(

Had this printer for an year now. No complaints really. I dont do a lot of photo prints, but everything I have printed looks good. I dont have a keen eye for printing quality details, so I will defer that analysis for someone else. A very all round wireless practical printer, that is easy to handle and which does duplex printing and scanning very well. That can be a great plus particularly when scanning both sides of the page. The software that comes with the printer is easy to use. Couple of reasons for dropping a star1. The printer does not let you control the usage of ink from a black only ink cartridge for black and white printing.2. The customer support can be a bit slow. My emails on questions received responses after a month

Ужасно

Though the printer worked fine for a few months, with little actual use; it died at 12 months and 1 week. Never did get to use a lot of the features. I need a machine that lasts longer than this one did, for this price.

Canon PIXMA MP560 Wireless Inkjet All-In-One Photo Printer (3747B002)I bought this just two weeks more than one year ago. In the last two weeks it's been malfunctioning, refusing occasionally (and then permanently) to print, showing a 6C10 error code with instructions to turn it off and on again; if that doesn't work, check manual. The powering off and on does NOT fix the issue and I've spent far more time than the thing is worth trying to figure out how to fix it. I have followed the suggestions of many, to no avail. I'm deeply disappointed. It isn't worth getting repaired, but it kills me that I just replaced all five ink cartridges, a pretty pricey deal.Yup, when it works, the quality of output is very good. When it doesn't, like the little girl with a curl in the middle of her forehead, it's horrid. Today someone posted on one of the many forums trying to fix this problem that Canon told him it might be "faulty board circuitry" and to call back if his failed again. Great! But mine is out of warranty.I plan to contact Canon and complain; I've been a customer for years (printers and cameras) and this is the first time I've been let down. If they come through, I'll report back.IMPORTANT. Canon did indeed respond to my request for help. They were timely, polite, and thorough. THEY ALSO OFFERED TO HONOR THE WARRANTY. I don't know that this changes my concern with the printer. If this is a common problem with this particular model, Consumer Union would know. If its a rare occurence, I'd recommend this printer. While it is slow, the print quality is very good, it wasn't hard to connect to my home network, and the ink isn't horrifically expensive, tho not cheap.Kudos to Canon for backing their product and caring about the customer.
