This was very easy to set up, but was quite a lengthy install of the software. Quality of the print I'm pleased with compared to my older Epsom. My biggest hate are the icons on the desktop which do slow my PC down especially at start up. If it wasn't for this I would of gave it 5 stars

Good value for money, setup with drivers easy under windows 8, seems to take a while to print unlike my old IP 4500 but speed when printing good and quality fine, ink more expensive than IP 4500 wireless works ok but im using on a USB cable

Can be a bit slow to print but well worth the wait! I was getting allot of prints done as we've just had a baby, weighed up the costs and decided to invest in a printer! Wireless function is nice and easy to set up which is a bonus!

My new Canon Pixma iX6520 arrived within 2 days of my order. I bought a cheap cable and almost fried the power supplies in 2 different computers. I kept thinking don't I have a cable around here somewhere that looks like this one. Sure enough I did. It is the exact same cable that comes with a USB back up hard drive. Okay! I am excited! I plug it in at 11:30 PM, and it worked! I printed a photo that was absolutely breathtaking!I have had the Canon Photo Real printer for over 10 years now. It has the scanner cartridge. I was always happy with it but it died while I was doing taxes. I managed to fix it one last time, but what the heck, everyone buys something at tax time. I had wanted a printer like this forever. My old Canon was like $369.00 with the scanner cartridge back in the day. This new Pixma iX6520 is my dream come true, and the price is great!I am once again a Canon fan, and I love Amazon.com! Thanks Amazon. You are the dream team!

A very good printer, very clear and cheap cartridges compared to my last printer(Dell). It is very noisy when it starts it's cleaning
cycle, but I can put up with that.It looks nice and altogether very pleased. The only down side is that it doesn't photocopy!

You want a professional printing system in your home? Look no further. I also love that this printer has wireless capability and I feel it's a must due to its pretty big size; it's great being able to place in a certain area away from the computer (no need to purchase ridiculous length of USB cords getting in the way/take up a USB slot on your computer)I like that when you insert the ink, each individual ink area lights up to tell you it's in correctly.If you get this printer, I highly recommend getting the Canon Photo Paper Plus Semi-Gloss 13" x 19" (50 Sheets) (SG-201 13X19) too. I printed some photos using that paper and it is professional quality.No need to worry about people stealing your precious photos at printing services; if you print photos with this, you have the comfort and be able to produce professional quality easily at your home.You might feel the price might be expensive at first hand, but once you see the printing results, it's actually a major bargain. I definitely feel this printer is a worthy investment. I highly recommend. The only problem is the size - make sure you have room to place this somewhere!

I looked up airprint compatible printers and this one came up as compatible - good reviews otherwise and I've had several other Canon PIXMA printers and I've been happy with them.I bought this to enable my husband to be able to print from his iPad without emailing the file to me on my laptop. No joy.This is NOT an airprint printer.Neither our iPad 2s, my iPhone 4s or his iPhone 5 find this printer; it's a complete boat anchor at this point because it simply does not do what I bought it to do, which is to print wirelessly from these specific devices. It prints fine from my MacBook Air.Caveat Emptor!Comments a week later from prior comments:I had an old MacBook Pro which was not being employed much and I was able to download an application - HandyPrint - that allowed my MBP to serve prints to this printer and a laser printer I have. Now, through that app, both printers are iPad and iPhone accessible for all file types. It is a solution that works, but it's not what I thought I was getting as an Airprint printer. Both MacBooks connect fine to this printer wirelessly, so that part works fine.

I was looking for a cheap colour printer that'd do the job of printing stuff in good quality. A bit of searching and I found this one. I wasn't really planning to buy an All-in-one printer, but hey, why don't take it? It's almost the same price as only-printers. Quick check on the reviews and then ordered it. I am using it quite often and the results are really good!

Pro:
+ good printing quality
+ acceptable printing speed for this price range
+ easy ink cardridge replacement
+ the printer and the paper do not smell like ink after printing
+ cheap price
+ capable of printing via wireless lan
+ INCLUDES A USB CABLE to connect the printer to the computer

Con:
- somewhat noisy when turning on and when scanning

If you are looking for a good and cheap printer, I can recommend this one.

I'm lucky and excited at having the opportunity to use the "Canon Pixma Pro-100". I've a strong interest in black and white photography and was considering an upgrade to a printer with increased b&w capabilities. I've been using, and have been very pleased with, the Pixma pro-9500 mkII which uses pigment inks, and I've been concerned with switching to a dye based printer which the 'Pro-100' is.Upon delivery I unpacked it, set it up, started the accompanied CD, and the installation completed without any difficulty. Right off, I printed b&w and color photos on both printers for comparative purposes using the 'Pro Luster' paper that was included with the delivery. I noted on the back of each photo which printer was responsible, and then shuffled them. I've expected and gotten great photos from my Canon printer, however, bottom line is both color and contrast are noticeably improved with the 'Pro-100'.The 'pro-100' produces impressive and brilliant photos, and its Wifi ability is an appreciated plus. I do, however, have concerns regarding the longevity of the dye based inks and I've been unable to find any credible, up to date, information. I've subsequently submitted a query to Canon regarding this and if and when I receive an answer I'll update this review.10/24/12 Update, from Canon: Canon uses ChromaLife 100+ for the ink tanks. This is a test of light and other daily effects that will cause the picture to fade. If stored properly it will last over 100 years. I am sorry for any issue this might cause you.

Reasonable printer (although I hear ink is expensive, but for the great printing quality, I'd say it's worth it), quickly delivered and even I, a complete technophobe with my first printer, had no problem to set it up. Ink is easy to put in, which is a real plus for me. And for those that wondered whether it came with ink, it does.

As a further update to my review, I now wish I had not decided to purchase this printer. It is rarely used for scanning - and it began to fail at that completely -- leaving off portions of the page no matter how the document was placed on the flatbed. The feeder NEVER did work, so any time there was more than one page to be scanned - it all had to be done one by one. Additionally - there is no way to really ensure that the document scanned goes into one document. Therefore, if you're sending docs to someone, they receive EACH page. The default for docs is TIFF -- which no one seems to be able to open. Perhaps this can be adjusted.The only thing this machine is doing now is printing. Therefore, it is an epic fail on all other levels. I never hooked up the fax, but from the looks of it -- that would probably fail, too. The bottom line is that without a proper feeder and scanner, the multi machines are useless.I really thought that this Canon would be better than HP which had similar issues. But at least the HP seemed to work for a time, which this one has not.I am just fortunate that I do a lot of scanning. But it would be nice, in any case, for this machine to do what it advertised it could do. It's really disconcerting how these companies routinely get away with producing inferior products, year after year after year after year.*************I am updating this review to include that I am really disappointed in the feeder mechanism. It has never worked. Jams every time so that I must single sheet scan everything. So if you really need that sheet feeder, I'd advise looking elsewhere.I've been held hostage by HP printers for years and it is so good to be liberated from the insanity. They used to be good products, but suddenly, they all seemed very deficient and rarely lasted a year, despite minimal use. As I became less of a paper tiger, I didn't notice it much, that is, until I needed to print something. Despite keeping the drivers up and always buying their rip-off cartridges, I became increasingly disappointed with their products. I received a free printer with a Mac purchase and after that printer began to fail right out of the box immediately, I just gave up. Researching other brands, Canon seemed to be top dog for price, quality and overall use. I had a Canon years ago and it lasted for many years, something that an HP NEVER did. So I found this one and read many reviews before settling with it. The price on Amazon could not be beat, so I bought it and have never looked back. Setup was easy - however, I still have not mastered the wireless setup. That is not a big deal for me at this point. Some time I may figure it out. For now, I am satisfied with the overall quality and consistency of this machine. I will never buy another HP ANYTHING. The HP dvlaptop I have is on its last legs - right from the start, it was wanky. It totally crapped out and I had to send it back to them to reformat it. After that, the network card went blewy and so now I have to hard-wire it just to use the Internet. It is totally useless for travel, as most of the time it does not recognize any networks. I Googled these issues and was not surprised to find that it is a well-known issue such that these machines should have been recalled. At the very least, they should offer free network cards to fix the problem. Never again, HP. Don't consider HP. There are better products to spend your money on. Shame on that inferior company.

So far I have to say that is printer is exactly what I wanted. I am an amateur photographer that is moving into the professional realm. I really did not like the results of the labs I tried and wanted full control and paper choices with my prints. I have already done several types of papers including canvas with lovely results.I initially learned to shoot black and white. And process was not complete until I was in the darkroom and had developed and created a print. With digital photography some of this is gone. However, I feel that with the digital developers like Aperture or Lightroom and now a my high quality printer I have come full circle.Currently I am keeping track of the prints I make to get a sense of how long the ink will last in my work flow.I definitely would recommend this photo printer if you are a photographer that want that creative control and another level of expression.

and at a great price. Arrived very quickly after order & well packaged to protect it. I wanted it primarily to print direct onto printable dvds...which it does brilliantly; it also prints ordinary docs really well...though haven't yet tried it with photos, but don't doubt it will be just as good.

I like this machine for its compactness. The quality of print in both monochrome and colour is pretty good. I chose it because I already have a recently purchased scanner and I actually found it difficult to find a printer without a built-in scanner nowadays. One complaint is that the wi-fi connection is erratic and for inexplicable reasons the iMac finds it difficult to locate the printer too often. Both machines stay in the same physical positions - so why the problem?

The only thing I don't like about this printer is that there is only one input for A4 paper.. On my old Pixma 5200 I could use the paper feed on the top for scrap (easily seeing I had plenty there) and the cassette tray for good or photo paper. With this one I have to remove the paper from the printer every time I change the type of paper. Prints photos beautifully though so glad I bought it. Yet to find out about the cost of ink.

When my very old HP Deskjet reach the point that every third piece of paper that went through jammed I decided that a new printer was needed. We use two computers, both lap tops, and a wireless printer that both of us could use from anywhere in the house seemed like a good idea. I will not buy anything on-line that I can not look at first in an office, home or store--been burned too many times on line. A friend who runs a small business had a Canon PIXMA MX 882 and liked it and I was able to try it, and I liked it. The retail stores in my area did not have the MX882, but they were all more than willing to order it...I could have it next week. So, off to Amazon.From having seen, and tried, the printer, I knew that I would need a router, the printer does not support direct computer to printer (peer to peer) wireless printing. To use it wirelessly you must use a router, so I bought a basic Netgear wireless router. We live in a very rural area and have no cable internet or land line phone; its Verizon Cell Phones and Direct TV and nothing else. I wanted to set up the printer, router and computers as an "in-house" private network, with no internet connection and making the printer work properly in that system was tricky, it took a couple hours and both the Canon manual and Tech Help were no help and the people at Netgear told me flatly that "it won't work". It will work, and once I got it running the printer was great. The print quality and speed are both very good. Photo printing is excellent, the copy function is useful, we don't do much copying but it works well. The scanner is great for home use, the resolution is adequate for anything I do. The fax function, for us, is a waste since we have no telephone land line. Bottom line? Good multifunction printer that I am happy with and would reccommend. But you do need to know what your doing, out of the box its not plug and play.In our set up the key was to download the latest Canon printer driver from Microsoft Up-dates and use the network software built into Windows 7. Just ignore the software that comes from Netgear, it insists that it has to have an internet connection. First, plug in and turn on the router. Give it about five minutes to wake-up and think about things. Then turn on the printer and, on the Printers Touchpad, tell it that its a wireless printer. Then turn on the first computer, make sure the WiFi is on, go to the control panel and set up a simple private network and install the new driver you just downloaded. We get to the internet via a Verizon Smartphone teethered to the computer and using Verizons network software. Interestingly, I can log onto Verzon and then log on to the in-house WiFi network and both work with no problems. For us, its a nice system.

I'm pretty tech savvy, but have avoided getting a wireless printer until now because of all the nightmare stories I've heard about setting them up, keeping them connected to the network, and getting all the functions to work over the wireless connection. I'm glad I waited for this printer, because it is everything I'd wanted in a wireless all-in-one.Setup: This goes easily, but not quickly. If you have Windows 7 and can use the wireless setup functions, it makes this setup go a lot faster and easier, but you will still spend a half hour or so getting the software installed. If you don't have Windows 7, expect to spend about an hour on setup, but thankfully the instruction manual is very detailed on this, so as long as you follow the steps, you can't go wrong.Functionality: Standard all-in-one functions: print, copy, scan, fax. None of these seem any more or less than you'd find in any other similar printer.Print quality: Very good quality on documents and pictures. The documents are almost (but not quite, of course) on par with my laser printer (Konica Minolta 1650EN) but the picture/photo output is much better.Wireless: I don't see any issues with the wireless. I tried a few places around the house and anywhere a laptop could find enough of a signal to connect to the router, the printer was able to connect and function. Basically, if the blue light on the front is on, you'll be able to access all the functionality of the printer through the wireless connection.Size and Weight: The printer is a bit larger than other all-in-ones because it has the paper feed in the back. I don't think this is an issue since you can set the printer anywhere you'd like because of the wireless connection. The weight is fine for any shelf you'd trust a couple books on, so again, not an issue.Time to print: From standby mode, it takes 15 seconds from the time you hit the "Print" button in Word until the first page of the document is out of the printer. There is nothing here to complain about; that's an excellent time and is much faster than a lot of other printers in the same price range.Scanning/OCR: I did a screenshot of the scanned page and OCR output of a double-column page from a tool safety manual. Granted it isn't perfect, sometimes it sees an I as a T, sometimes it misses spaces...but recognizing column breaks as something other than just plain whitespace is pretty good, in my opinion. Look at the image at the top of the page and decide for yourself if this is good enough for your home or office.WOW factor: Since a printer is a printer is a printer...I look for a "that's cool" thing or a "you're kidding me" thing to separate one from the other. One thing I noticed about this printer that convinced me that they'd really put some thought into it is that if you don't open the outfeed door before you start printing...it opens automatically! Okay, that's a great little, "why didn't everyone else think of that" feature that makes me feel very confident that they've put at least as much thought into all the other aspects of the printer.Summary: I'm very happy with the printer. It seems to be very well made, the print is clear, the time to first page out isn't any longer than other inkjets and shorter than most. Perhaps the biggest thing that impressed me was the detail of the installation manual; it doesn't sound like it was translated from Russian or some other language and it has step-by-step, detailed instructions that will get the printer set up and running with a minimum of frustration.Of course, I'll update as needed, but I feel this is a good printer that you should strongly consider for the home or even small office.

I bought this to print photos , prints and cards. It only accepts paper up to 100 gsm. This means I can`t print cards - or photos on quality paper. So if anyone wants a crap printer for letters only, please get in touch as I have one.

Although this printer produces great results it does spend a lot of time going through its own machinations. Goodness knows what it's actually doing. So at times it can test your patience when you just want it to print one sheet.
The new paper tray arrangements - with both trays at the front - compared with my previous IP 4700, which had one feeder at the back, seems to work well but I haven't tried it with stiffer card. It does work OK with envelopes although I put them in one at a time to be more sure that a jam was not likely. Double sided printing works well. One of my main reasons for buying another Canon was its ability to print on printable disk. This too works well and the new arrangement for storing the disk tray (it clips into the underneath of the upper paper tray) is definitely better than the previous arrangement in which the disk tray was entirely separate. I give it four stars instead of five because of the delay in printing, and because the delivery tracking information was useless. According to the carrier, the printer was returned to the depot as being undeliverable, while according to Amazon the printer had been delivered and signed-for by someone living some 80 miles away from me.

This is a great machine; it does everything apart from combing my hair in the morning. It scans fantastic images, scans to PDF format for documents, and prints really well, and looks great. In addition, it is a real bargain for the price. I would recommend this printer to anyone.

I bought this printer as I wanted one that would work wirelessly with my iPads and and also with my
MacBook Air, etc. I have two other Pixmas and neither would do this, although one was a wifi enabled machine,
which would talk to Windows computers, but not to iPads. The Mg3250 was specifically advertised as being able to work with iPads etc. It was a long and frustrating battle, with the Getting Started instructions so badly written that they were more of a hindrance than a help. The Canon Support was no better. They suggested that I should put some paper in it. Yes, I had thought of that. There must be somewhere in those help pages that would reveal the secret. After thirty years of experience with computers, it had me beaten. Then I fired up the old iMac desktop, and accidentally found a Canon software tool that broke the well-concealed secret of the purpose of the USB cable, supplied with this printer, and its function in forcing the printer to acknowledge my router, leading the way, so to speak. Triumph ! IPad spoke peace unto printer. But....it still ignores all my other machines.

It feels flimsy, and is temperamental, but prints nicely, if you have a lot of patience. The ink cartridges are, I can see, going to make it expensive to run.

I wish I hadn't bought it.

I have been printing with a Pixma iP4850 to size A4 and have been very happy with the results. I got this so I could expand to size A3 and even A3+ and it does not disappoint. My first print, which was an A4 size, did not disappoint while my first A3 print blew me away.
I have calibrated my screens and the prints look very much like the images I see on screen with no need to lighten or darken the printouts, so very happy :)
It's a heavy beast but well worth it I think, the Pro 1 was just that much more than what I wanted to pay. The Pro 10 again a little more than what I wanted to pay but I was put off by the fact in a review of these three printers, the Pro 10 produced dark prints while the Pro 1 & 100 did not.
If you have spent the money on a decent camera then you need to spend some money on a decent printer. Looking at images 'on screen' is all well and good but you can't beat a print and you definitely can't beat a BIG print :)

Easy to set up .... Easy to use . I would highly recommend this printer and scanner . Very good quality .

Only downside - no back tray to drop in paper, you have to use a cartridge at the front
Huge plus - Amazon sell a pack of five compatible cartridges that are top quality for less than ten pounds -that is a result!
Great full width printing on A4 - great photo quality. Direct to cd printing. Everything I wanted from a new printer!
