After reading posted reviews, I went ahead with purchase. Delivery was fast. For the money this is a great printer. I printed a set of 'test' photos and they came out well (even on HP photo paper). Printer is slower and noisier than the HP 8250 Photosmart it replace, but hopefully it won't decide to stop working. And I won't mind as it only cost 1/5th as much as the lightly used HP that just quit working.

I bought two! Each box includes a set of standard-sized ink cartridges (black+color) worth more than Amazon charges for the printer so it was a "no-brainer"!PROS: Small, light, reasonably attractive (if you like all black), easy to install and use. Creates attractive 4x6" prints on the included glossy paper.CONS: Noisy, slow, limited features, no output paper tray, no USB cable. If you need a "serious" inkjet printer, the Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4020 might be a better choice.Suggestion: Keep an ip2702 printer on hand in case your everyday home/office printer unexpected dies in the middle of a busy day.

The printer/scanner is awesome, but the scanning software is horrible.The scanning software freezes quite often, getting confused with communication to the printer. I had to go into my preferences and cache and delete "jp.co.canon.bj.printer" files, and afterward the scanner software MP Navigator EX 4.1 functioned normally.(NOTE: For anyone that runs into this, the Preferences are in /Users/$USER/Library/Preferences and Cache is in /Users/$USER/Library/Caches.UPDATE: I found that in the Mac, there are limited pre-set pages for the ADF (automatic document feeder). Thus if you have to scan a stack of papers that is not 8.5" x 11", then you may have a problem. Fortunately, the Window's software was by far more flexible, and you can scan more types of paper. To artificially limit the features of the scanner with poorly implemented software makes the scanner definitely a bad choice for Macintosh users. Windows users may have a different experience.

Our office has been using HP7000s for a few years and the print heads have been slowly self-destructing. Our problems with the Canon iX6520 are as follows:1. 45? lines are not it's friend. We typically use ANSI131 to hatch out Scope of Work and this printer plots the 45? lines as dotted unless you set it to High Quality, which is ridiculously slow.2. Color out of the box isn't as vibrant as the HP7000. I understand this can be fixed with a Spyder or similar, but most offices don't want to spend $400 on a printer calibration kit for their cheapo printers.3. B&W performance is shoddy. We have issues with reading text on top of a color 8 solid hatch. When set to B&W, this prints a solid hatch like a halftone and makes lines over the hatch unreadable. So plan on leaving it set to CMYK printing and spending money on ink.

I don't print much so there's no reason for me to spend a lot on a printer. This printer is fine for what I need. The print quality is good for text and images and I'm happy with the purchase. I can't say how quickly it goes through ink because I'm still on the 1st cartridges. At a little over $30 this is a great buy for the occasional printer.[edit to original review: Because I don't print a lot I'm still using the ink cartridges that came with the printer over 1 year later. What's impressive is that they still work and the print heads have not dried out. I've never had to run the head cleaning function. When I do make an occasional print it is clear and completely without smudges.]

Just got this a couple of days ago and am very impressed with the Canon Pixma MX882 I have a PC running Windows 7 and my wife has an iMac. I was able to set up the printer using Wi-Fi for both machines within 30 minutes. Using the interface on the printer, the MX was able to find my router immediately; the only hesitation was in my figuring out how to use its keypad to enter my password. Once that was input, the printer connected with router. I used the installation CD on both the PC and Mac to install the drivers. Couldn't have been simpler.Printer quality and speed over Wi-Fi are fine for a home network. We'll use it to print docs and photos, and scan and copy other documents. No need for the fax function.All in all, I'd highly recommend this printer and never again have to deal with the bizarre machines that HP makes.

I looked hard for a replacement for my HP all-in-one (I have had several over the last 8 years) and thought I would try my luck with Canon. The printing is fine enough. Copying from the control panel gives only the very basic options. I still can't figure out how to make the darn print darker. But my real frustration is with the scanner. I thought for sure I would be able to scan directly into iPhoto since it is Mac compatible, but can not. The worst is that I can not control anything about the scan. I spoke with a Canon rep who said that I can do everything through the software, but I still can't figure it out. The first picture I scanned was a clear beautiful simple photo. The scanned version had a snow quality to the dark colors that I cant figure out how to get rid of. I am hoping to return this item and either go back to an HP or an Epson.

I have been using this product for a year. Overall, it is a very nice printer for the ~$60 I paid last year (2010).The ink is a bit expensive, as inkjets' ink tend to be.I just want to mention the software (I'm using it with Win7) and scanner. I had been using HP and Epson all-in-ones and I always had trouble with the software, especially when it came to the scanner software. However, Canon's software has proven to be very stable and easy to use. The ability to handle two duplex scanning well(using the software) adds a huge value to the product.The ADF also works pretty well too, better than other in all-in-ones I used before.Yes, sometimes pages get stuck. Yes, it could be faster. Yes, it would be nice if the ADF did 100 pages at a time. But the product definitely gets the job done.I would buy this product just for the scanning functionality.

Well, it did well for a while. Was easy to set up. Of course the ink was very expensive and ran out often. Then suddenly, the message said to change the ink, but the ink showed half full. SO we bought all new ink. Same thing and would print blanks. If you google, "my Canon prints blanks" you receive dozens of complaints across the internet. And of course, there is no answer. So you write to Canon for assistance, and of course they never answer.I'm going to junk this thing and then buy one of those printers where you add your own ink. Arrrghhh.

We have only had the printer a few days, but I am very pleased. It is bigger than what I was picturing, but that's not really an issue. Very easy set up. We had our previous printer for several years and it finally crapped out, so we started looking for something that was going to do everything we wanted and we found it! The prints are very crisp. It also came with a couple pages of photo paper. I was curious about those because some had said they were crappy pictures (photo printing capability was not of the reasons we decided to purchase this printer), but our photos that I tested came out just like getting them printed from Walgreens. Very happy with the printer so far.

Most of the functionality of this printer is good for the money. The wireless printing and scanning capabilities (high, med, low to PDF or JPEG) are great and easy to use. I've scanned photos and they come out looking almost as good as the originals. However, I would not buy this printer again for a simple reason: you can't print black/grayscale only once the color cartridges are depleted. Why? Because Canon uses small drops of color every time you print a grayscale page for 'print head maintenance'. No wonder our color ink disappeared quickly. We are NOT heavy color users; in fact, we hardly print color pages at all and never photos. It's just cheaper and easier to do it elsewhere.We have been replacing the big black tank as needed. The printer really sucks down alot of black ink for moderate usage (5 pages per day average at the most); we've been replacing every couple of months. At the last round, all of our color cartridges were also depleted but we only bought the big black again. Still can't print for the reason already mentioned. Canon says this is to prevent 'serious' damage to the print head. Really? We printed for years on an HP color deskjet printer without a color catridge even installed and never had any problems. That's not exactly 21st century technology. As for the statement that this is a 'green' printer because there's multiple color cartridges rather than one, I would disagree. You can't refill these cartridges; you have to buy new ones. They all depleted at roughly the same rate, and they're all getting tossed out instead of re-filled and re-installed.

I often heard about Canon printers; about their quality and simplicity, and I think this printer itself has great features for the common use. I have never even seen printers that can scanning, printing, copying and faxing at the same time. Besides, printing photos with good quality seems to me very unusual and exciting. Also Canon links and cartridges are not so expensive, so owner can find it in every store or market, so this is not gonna be a big problem for them.There is the manual and CD in the box inside. Set up of the software is pretty easy. Just follow instructions that are shown in the manual. It will help you to set the settings right.This is all I want to say about this printer, no more else. It just simple and useful.I am sure you will be satisfied.

I had an HP4950 all in one that I got when I purchased a camera from Ritz Camera. It was OK and the printing just starting getting bad and I needed a new one. I looked at Epson, HP and Canon and finally decided on the Canon. It has print, scan, copy and fax which I needed as well as wireless. I have had Epson, HP and Canon printers in the past and I did not get the Epson because it only really printed well with Epson paper whereas the HP and Canon were OK with whatever paper. The Canon won out because it has two paper paths, one for regular paper that curves around and then from the back for card stock. It was easy to set up and I have very pleased with the quality and speed of the print. Another extra is that the software that comes with it allows you to go through movies taken with a canon camera and select individual frames to print. I was over at my sons house and noticed he decided on the same model printer.

We've had this printer for 3 months and we just love all the features! The wireless feature has great range. We hooked it up in our living room since that's where the phone line is we needed to use for the fax feature. Sometimes we can't even get a wireless signal for our laptops to work in there since it is so far from the receiver, but the Canon printer has not failed us yet! I love being able to print, copy, scan, fax and printing using the wireless feature is so nice! We have a Samsung color laser printer that we use for bulk print jobs as needed, but the color prints and copies that come off the Canon are as great as the laser versions from our Samsung. Installation was a breeze, no problems finding our network and hooking it up, it probably took me no less than 30 minutes from start to finish. Definitely a great buy!!!

Purchased two of these over the last year, they've both held up well and don't cause my parents any issues. They're certainly not the most efficient ink-wise, but it also does a nice enough job that they can print everything and anything they want as long as they have some photo paper lying around.

I have owned several printers over the years - Canon, HP, Epson - and this by far is the poorest performer - while it may be acceptable for text - it is horrible for printing pictures - I've tried different papers - different settings - everything I could think of - and nothing has worked - every single attempt has ended up in the shredder...I purchased this on "Black Friday" and the day before yesterday I just gave up and ordered a new HP printer - I couldn't put up with this one another day - plus after only a handful of jobs I got a 'low ink' message on the color tank - geez...I wouldn't recommend this printer to anyone - I have owned 'good' Canon printers in the past but this one is just junk...

It took a bit of time to set up and get the computer to join the network but it wasn't very difficult. Just insert the disk and follow the instructions. Since then it works great. I haven't figured out how to scan wirelessly, but I scan so infrequently that plugging a usb cable in is not that much of an inconvenience. Now both Macs in the house can print wireless and so far it works flawlessly. I'm very happy with my purchase.

well, after much research i selected this printer/combo and it was great, for the first month... printed good to great pics depending on paper selection and then i let it rest for a month and crank it back up to make a copy and it craps out and gives me a 6500 error message! I follow instructions to reboot and nothing! Contact canon cs and they inform me that that is a hardware error and is a faulty machine!! Which they will replace with a "factory re-conditioned" unit and will not renew a warrenty on the replacement. "This could be an unending cycle"... Not if you made high grade equipment!! Very DISAPPOINTING!!!

This printer is Super-Slow, makes A LOT of noises before/during/after print, Poor Colors Quality, the colors are almost dead. Stay far away, something to avoid.The only good thing i find in this printer, is the look.Thanks.

Real decent packaging. Received in good shape.Because I am using open source software (Ubuntu 11.10) it was a plug & play...automatically found the proper driver.Compared to my HP printer model 1550 (just now tossed it after approx. 10 years) this puppy is an ink mizer.For the price and Prime service this deal is satisfactory.Have used this printer only 5 days....will update more at a later timeMay 13,2012...Finished with inkjet printers. Just chucked this Canon junk in the land fill. Have ordered an Okidata impact printer. It is an insult to waste my time on this china puke.

Recently I began searching for an inexpensive printer/scanner/photo printer, so I started right here on Amazon, reading different reviews and comparing products. Let's hope that my review helps you out.Usually, I buy the top of the line everything. But this time, since I dont print 1000 documents a day, or 100 pictures a day, I deemed it unnecessary to spend hundreds. First of all, I dont think that I would consider this to be a "compact" printer. It definitely takes up some room. However, everything that is needed is in the box. The set-up was pretty much idiot proof, and the installation software worked flawlessly for me. I was up and running in less than 30 minutes.The printer itself is somewhat noisy, but it does print clear, crisp lines. I dont like that page 1 ends up on the bottom of the stack when printing multiple pages though. It is just a minor annoyance to manually put the pages in order.The scanner function worked perfectly, and I had to scan about 20 pages today. It is quick, and is easy for transferring over to your computer.I have only used the photo printer once or twice, and for a printer of this economical value, you cant beat the quality of pictures. They dont have the appearance of the typical cheap printer. But, remember that photo paper quality does play a role in the clarity.Overall, you cant beat this printer for the price. I would have easily paid over $100 and still been completely satisfied. If you are looking for small, compact, and quiet, this isnt the printer for you. If you are looking for inexpensive, great features, ease of use, and multiple functions, look no further.UPDATE: As of today, 1/19/2011, I have used the photo printer more frequently to copy 4"x6" pictures, first scanning and then printing them, and it is almost hard to tell the original from the copy. Very impressed!!! Such a great buy, and if it lasts longer than a year or two, I will have definitely gotten my money's worth.

I love Canon printers, generally. This one had all the features I wanted:* All-In-One Machine* Above-Average for Regular Photo Printing* Auto Feeder* Duplex Printing* Wireless Printer* AND Wireless ScanningThe Wireless part was a big sell for me since I wanted this printer to be used by an old Desktop with no wireless capability and two laptops with wireless. I wanted each to be able to access the Canon for better work flow.Well... I don't know if this was difficult for everyone, but for me, setting up each computer to find and recognize the printer was no walk in the park. It took ALL DAY. Printing now works. But even now, the wireless scanning is still not functional. The hard-copy manual is easy to follow but is also very general - and not necessarily universal.I'm now looking through the e-manual and having to search through Help menus but nothing is coming up - yet. If worse comes to worse, the machine does allow for scanning to a USB drive. Depending on your needs and set up, plus if you have the patience and some technical know-how, you may not run into the same problems as I did. Don't let me scare you from buying this machine. Canon still rocks. But it would be nice to have access to all that this All-In-One offers. ***SEE UPDATE BELOW******UPDATE***I wish had known this sooner. Canon's customer service is actually pretty good! I used email support and within a few email exchanges to clarify my computer specs and needs, I was emailed clear and detailed step-by-step instructions on how to resolve my problem. VERY SATISFIED now. And will upgrade my original 3-star rating to a 4.

No complaints about delivery or price, both were very good, and I chose this model because the ink can be refilled at local Cartridge World. But the printer itself? It's mammoth, it's black, it's shiny and it comes with a HUGE built-in manual of instructions. After owning this, um, equipment? - I still can't successfully print any size of paper other than defaulted 8.5 x 11. Scanning's going to take another 4 months of tutorial. Faxing? Forget about it. I thought I was getting a normal, everyday printer to replace our defunct LexMark. I've ended up with a Caterpillar diesel-driven 994 front-end loader. Yes, I'm over 55 years of age and 5 of those years can be attributed to this overly-complicated piece of plastic.

This wide format printer replaced a wide format Epson which had been very good to both my wife and I. She likes to print large family photos and I like to print my scenic and close-up nature photos. I used this printer to create my 2012 Calendar for family members. The resolution and detail on the photos was outstanding. Amazon also has very good prices for the on-going ink supplies. I had a large supply of photo papers by Epson and Kodak, and so far the results on the Canon printer have been just fine without using Canon photo paper. I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this photo printer to anyone who needs the wide format capability.

I've had this camera for about 6 months now. I use it primarly to capture indoor sporting events, but also use it for vacation videos and videos of kids. I use 16GB Class 4 memory, and the recorder works fine with this speed memory, even in the highest resolution/data rate modes.I especially like the 3 second pre-record feature. It's a feature that I read about, and said "no big deal" but after using it, it's great. Picture that your 10 year old is playing in his first football game. You don't want to record the whole game, you only want the highlights. So you turn on the 3-second pre-record and fix your camera on your all star. When he/she breaks a tackle and starts heading for the end zone, you hit the record button, and whammo, you've got the whole play recorded from the very beginning. Awesome feature for videoing small children, as you never know when they're going to do something cute.The video quality is top notch. I can't speak for the canon editing software, as I use Adobe for all my video processing, but the included utility works great to transfer video directly from the camera, or from the memory card (if you're using a memory card reader) The transfer software renames the recorded videos with the Date/Timestamp in the format YYYYMMDDHHMISS. This is very nice for organizing clips in your video library, as they are all stored in chronological order.The Video display screen is the best I've seen on a camcorder. The videos are very watchable right on the camera. The speaker on the camera is terrible, but that's to be expected.The touch screen interface is very nice, and extremely responsive. It took me a few minutes to get used to the interface, but now that I'm used to it, it's very nice.I don't use the "still shot" very much, but the still picture output is reasonable, considering that you're using a video camera.Battery life could be better (it's about 1.5 - 2 hours) of actively using the camera, but I've purchased 2 non OEM extended life batteries from Ebay, and they work very well (and they were only $10 each)

Initially purchased to use wirelessly, but router I bought not compatible with my broadband service. So rearranged work area to use wired connection. Thank you Canon for including USB cable so I could do this with no further delay or expense. My only qualification for setting this printer up is that I can read. Directions were easy to follow and took only about an hour from start to finish. Excellent printing and scanning from the first job. I would recommend this printer without reservation. Also, I can go wireless in the future if I get the right router and decide to do so.

I needed a wireless printer for my upstairs office and the three printers in the basement were not wireless. So, after speaking to several friends and then my father, I decided to go go with the same one my dad had. When I went to order it I found out that Canon had upgraded to the MX420 Wireless so I went with it. In under 15 minutes the printer was up and running and I am very happy with it. Takes up very little space and even though I have not tested the fax, I know it is there if I need it. Great print quality, fast, and a great printer for what I paid.

I've only had this thing for a few weeks now, so I haven't tried every feature. I haven't printed any photos, only documents. In short for forty-nine bucks, this thing is decent and a good value. I did buy a replacement ink because other reviews said it runs out quickly. The ink is not as cheap as I hoped. There are two cartridges, black and color, as opposed to the five in my previous HP printer.I have printed documents and web pages and find them to be satisfactory. I would imagine it could print high-quality if needed. I have used the scan feature for documents and it works well, with the included software saving the scan as an adobe .pdf among other formats. The software is pretty clunky, though. I've been letting it run in the background and it doesn't seem to use excessive resources on my Win7x64 laptop, though it's a little too feature-rich for my needs.I have had no problems with the wireless feature. You have to run the setup with the usb connection between the computer and the printer. Done. It's been working great.There are a few downsides that are really just compromises you make for a cheaper machine. There is no fax capability. Because of this, there is no document feeder for the scan. Also, there is no document feeder to break. Fancier models have that feature. One disappointment is the lack of an enclosed paper tray. I was expecting an internal paper tray, but that is reserved for the fancier models. The paper supply is vertical on the rear of the printer.For what it lacks in features it makes up for in size. This is one of the most compact models I could find, and by the far the most affordable (thanks amazon!). It also weighs much less than other models.So far I am very pleased with the product, and feel it is a good value.

Our all in one office we had before was such garbage. This one by canon is great. I never have issues with it connecting to the computers, it prints and copies beautifully. The fax is great as well. The ink doesn't seem to run out as fast as my last one. NEVER BUY AN EPSON! CANON ALL THE WAY BABAAAAY! BOOOO YAAAA!!

Having a many issues with this printer replacing an HP that was working fine. Basically I have to reinstall the software everytime I start my machine even then there is no guarantee that it will set up properly. I have to reinstall several times to get it to work and the next time I turn on the computer....have to reinstall everything again. All of the software diagnosis functions don't work. The wifi function also doesn't work. Buy the computer if you want to spend 30 min reinstalling the software every time you want to use it or never want to turn off your computer.

We had an old Canon MP460 which was still working just fine until we upgraded the PC, and could no longer use the scanner (no Win7 drivers available for the old Canon MP460). So, we upgraded to the mx882. I loved the idea of the wifi printing capability and all the other nifty features, but was honestly a little scared I would have to hire an in-house IT administrator to keep it all working for my wife when I'm gone.I was so pleasantly surprised....it all installed and worked great, first time, no big problems. Awesome, Thanks Canon. Nice job. The unit itself works well for scanning/printing/copying and is just as good as the good old mp460.Glad I stuck with Canon, but I'm still a little sad to discard/recycle a perfectly good MP460 just because they don't make Win7 drivers for it.

I received my all-in-one yesterday. I work in IT, but considered the setup very easy. I was printing/scanning/faxing in about 1.5 hours. Quality of printouts seems reasonable. I don't have good glossy paper, so my photo printing test wasn't great, but I blame the paper at this point. I am hoping that Canon provides a firmware update for the printer for AirPrint support soon so I can print from my iPhone/iPad directly to the printer. The user-interface is very easy to use. I have read that scanning a document on this machine requires that you have black ink? Also, I have read that this machine contains mechanics to prevent INK cartridge refills, and read one post that this machine even forces an INK refill if the existing INK catridges are expired? I'll update if any of that turns out to be true. Overall, I am happy and excited at this point.

I bought this printer to replace a dell wireless printer (I believe actually made by lexmark). That one was a major headache from day one. Difficult setup, document feeder never did work right, kept losing the wireless signal and needing to be reset. I plugged this one in, did some basic setup, and it works! Even the document feeder! Have not had to reset it once in the 2+ months I have had it!

This printer is pretty huge. Luckily I found a place that was a perfect fit -- the corner of my closet. I rarely have use for actually printing, so I love that the printer has wifi so I could print documents using my laptop without having it connected or it taking up tons of space on our kitchen table (we don't have an office). Setting up wireless was pretty easy if you followed the directions. It took some time to install on a Vista machine, but Windows 7 picked it up quickly enough.Nice feature I didn't really see written anywhere: the door for printed paper opens automatically, which is cool because I worried that the first time we printed wirelessly the paper would just jam up because I forgot to put the door down.If later on this line of printers could scan wirelessly, it'd be even better, but you do need a physical connection for scanning. Speaking of scanning, the software was pretty confusing to use, especially if you just wanted a straight scan without any "corrections" like auto-leveling and cropping.Other than some random quirks here and there (and cryptic error messages like "E0"), this is a pretty good printer, and it does its job very well.

The print quality of this printer is far superior to any home printer I have ever owned. I have printed 4x6 photos and much larger sizes, and the quality always looks very good.My major issue with this printer is how quickly the ink cartridges have to be replaced (and there are 5 of them!). I can only do a handful of full-size prints (maybe 20-30, depending) before the ink must be replaced. It gets very expensive.While I enjoy the quality of the prints, this printer doesn't get as much use as it should because of the need to replace the ink cartridges so often.

I have used this printer for a year and if I could do it over I would not buy it again. I am constantly buying replacement ink, both black and colors, even though I do a small amount of printing, and very little of that using color. I am really shocked at how much ink it uses, and the expense and inconvenience this causes leaves me unable to say anything positive at all about this printer.

This is my first non HP printer.I have had it over 6 months. It is the most laborious, non-intuitive device imaginable.Major production to get it to scan, have not been able to set up fax and it uses ink at an unbelievable rate.Only plus-the wireless was easy to set-up.BTW, I am fine with tech stuff, it is just a ridiculous printer

Великолепно

I was looking for a printer whose ink wouldn't cost so terrible much! I have been very pleased with this printer. I love that it is wireless and can be used by all my computers in the house. My only negative comment would be that sometimes it takes it about 10-15 sec for it to start printing, it's a little loud too. But over all I give it a 5 and have recommended it to two other people.

I only use this printer for Black and White Line Drawings and the quality is fine for my uses. The Pixma prints fast once the paper loads. The main problem with this printer is that the paper takes ages to load and I have to take all the paper out and shift and reload multiple times.

I bought this as a second printer so I could print short items (recipes, directions, grocery lists)and do miscellaneous print jobs from my laptop and not have to run upstairs to use the (not wireless) printer hooked to my desktop.I'd rate myself as average when it comes to tech saavy (I've set up wireless printers before with no problems) but I had to get my son (who is way more experienced than I am) to help with this one. He did not have nice things to say about the documentation that came with the printer, but he got the job done.So far it seems to be working well and the price was definitely right. Meets my needs fine, but I would have been fairly frustrated had my son not been around to help get it set up.

First of all, 5 stars for Amazon who got this to me in 1 day! That is with default free 2-day shipping with my Amazon Prime, awesome.The printer was set up and printing in 10 minutes. The controls are intuitive, wireless setup is a snap and it just printed out the most beautiful photo!I don't know how long the ink will last, but right now, I'm in love with this printer. That is really saying something because I've had my share of bad printer relationships!

what a rip off.. I just need Black and White Printing.. I dont need any other color.. Just dont need it.. But no the printer doesnt work without all the colors (i am guess it wont print if its not canon cartridges).. Stay away from CANON if you are just looking for black & white prints.I am pretty disappointed in this printer..
