I am one of those people who hates to install ANYTHING that has to do with computers, I get extemely frustrated and it can really ruin my night. I am usually great with software...printers and networking...not so much. I was really nervous about this printer after reading all of the reviews talking about how difficult it was to install the wireless printing/network printing. I actually debated returning the printer and getting something else. After a full week of staring at the box, I decided to try - I followed the extremely simple directions (turn on computer, turn on printer, install software, do not plug in until the computer tells you, unplug cord when computer tells you). The end. I didn't have to enter my security code (so I thought, great...it's not going to work for sure). It printed the first time without any problems at all. Not only that, but the printer speed was better than I expected as was the print quality! I had to go double check the model number against this (thinking, surely I got a different printer/scanner/copier). If I can install this printer with no problems (even with a very tired grumpy 4 yr old trying to help), anyone can!

The MP560 replaced an aging HP 840 (10+ years) for me, so needless to say its a huge improvement both in terms of print quality and functionality. a few pro and cons i can see right the way (2 weeks in) are:Pro:- easy installation, especially since this printer supports wifi, you can put the MP560 anywhere.- the scanning function works over wifi as well.- two paper sources is very convenient- auto duplex printing is great for saving paper (does slow down printing a lot however)- print quality on photo paper is superb for an ink-jet printer.- the OCR and other printer management tools are nice bonuses.- ink cartridge is separate from print head, so you don't need to replace both every time. cannon's ink cartridge however is also much smaller than HP's, over all still a slight saving.- ink cartridge easy to install and have individual LED status lights.So So:- the software that came with the printer are useful, but too unorganized. Network tool, Navigator EX3, Solution Menu, My Printer should all be merged into one program IMHO. (i didn't bother to install the photo album viewer)- the control panel on the printer is nice, but the scroll wheel screams 'ipod wannabe'. for a menu system this simple, the wheel control is far more gimmicky than necessary / functional.- the printer doesn't come with an USB cable. if you don't have a wireless network, you gotta go buy one yourself. for a printer that's around a hundred bucks, would the inclusion of a 5 bucks cable really kill the profit margin?- Wifi status light on MP560 is huge and bright, wish its more subtle- Scanner quality is average at best, but that's to be expected in a multipurpose printer.Cons:- Ink cartridge size is small, ink runs out fairly fast. dries out fast too.- the install program creates a LOT of sub-folders into your start menu, creating far more clutter than its worth.- PPM speed isn't all that great, even in B&W modeOver all, the MP560 is a very good multipurpose printer, its Pros outweighs its cons. my one issue with it is with the ink. Still, while the ink refill cost (over time) is not cheap, its not exceedingly overpriced compare to competitors.

I did not want a spectacular printer, but one that would print normal things and some pics. It was dead on arrival. I've installed all the drivers and programs and it prints no black or color, just leaving soggy colored edges of the paper and red & blue smudges at various places on the page.Trying to exchange it for another.

It does exactly what it says it does. Haven't tested the fax part yet. But wifi printing works like a charm and it's much faster than the MX860 (not saying much). The iPhone app is kinda jive, but it works, which is cool. The display stays on for a really long time before it goes to sleep, but it does eventually. It's quiet, and prints pretty excellent prints on high quality with photo paper.

I'm astounded that there are positive reviews of this machine. Maybe there are issues of quality control. Maybe those reviewers are less demanding, or still within the first few days of consumer afterglow. Don't be gulled, avoid this machine! Virtually every aspect of it is deeply flawed:1.) The user interface is bizarre. There is no reset button, no home button. When it gets stuck (which it does), the only solution I have found is to turn the machine off. Time consuming and frustrating!2.) The fax machine and the wireless capability are spotty. I have successfully set both of these up multiple times, only to see them cease operations after awhile. I've given up on them. I find it more convenient to send faxes from the office store and to use wires.3.) Worst is the printing. Sometimes it just doesn't want to work. So, I'll send the document to a different computer, and then print it from there. How annoying!I should say that I have been using computers for well over 25 years. I have never been so challenged by a device. I rue the day that I took this home from the store.

Wanted an affordable camera with manual focus, good low light, and 1080p resolution.This is a great camera and it works perfect. You can even do some semi-slow motion since it records at 60i (by default), and get a cool effect. It also records in other frame rates such as 24p.Only reason I gave 4 stars is that I don't like is the battery life. Recording @ HD 1080p quality, the battery just gets drained like crazy.

This was a great printer until the warranty ran out. Then the wireless refused to work. When I looked on the forums I found that others had the same problem. Probably their poor electrostatic control (ESD) in manufacturing results in latent defects which show up after extensive use when a circuit trace burns out in the wireless (RF) circuitry. I would not buy another Canon product. I used to have a Brother printer which was fantastic but like the HP products, could not print heavy material.

I purchased this printer a year ago and it has been one problem after another. The printer continually says its ink is low or out when it is not. It clunks and bangs making loud noises before beginning to print you think it might blow up. The LED menu readout is impossible to read without a flashlight. Setting it up for wireless is long and time consuming. I have spent more money on ink for this printer than any other printer I have owned.You may think as I did for the price you can't go wrong but you will be wrong don't buy from Cannon!

Great camcorder, I've had it for a little over a week. and am still learning all the ins and outs. the "auto mode" is great until your ready to go full manual and adjust all the settings to your hearts content.- The video is captured in the .mts container.- The files do play natively on the PS3 straight from the SDHC card(s).- The included software is OK, will allow you to convert your files to standard def.- Adobe Premier Pro CS4 had no problems importing the files. Was able to edit and work with files smoothly, but exports to .mp4 (for best quality). I'm not an expert with Premier, but wish i could export back to .mts or .m2ts, might have to wait for CS5 or different software.- The powered "IS" is great! really helps to steady shots.- you can use 58mm lens filters (add-ons)I found when filming outside (kids soccer game) that the mic picked up a lot of wind noise, will be looking into getting an external mic.Tried both class 4 and class 6 SDHC cards and could tell no difference, both cards recorded the video and the stills fast with no hesitation.You can use regular SD cards which could be placed in the 2nd SD slot and have the photos recorded there.Using a mini HDMI to hook up to the TV is great! you have full access to the menu through your TV. only wish that you could close the LCD monitor and still use the remote.The touch screen is nice and big, not as responsive as i would have hoped,(I have an Iphone) it does require a bit of pressure to "touch" the buttons.but over all I am very pleased with my purchase almost bought the HF S100 last month, but decided to wait to see what the new model offered. the only major changes were the larger LCD and touch screen, powered "IS", dual card slots, and i believe the ability to shoot and capture true 24F (24 progressive).if you have questions i can try and answer them or update my post.

This printer is very easy to connect to a wireless network and prints very quickly and quietly. I was actually a little shocked at the quality and speed of this printer. One of the reasons I also chose this printer was because of the non-OEM ink available for it at amazing prices. I don't particularly mind paying for Canon ink, but I also like having the option, keeping the cos per page very low. This printer is BIG, but I don't really mind though, because it is attractive. I like it more than a lot of the solid black printers on the market that are dust magnets. I have had experience with a lot of printers and I am so glad I chose this printer, I really feel it was a great bargain.

This is my first Canon product this printer replaced my old HP inkjet printer. I was in the market for a new printer because I figured the cost of ink for my old printer, could go toward the cost of a new printer. The M495 does its job well, print scans copies no problem. Easy to set up but I ran into a little trouble getting it to print wireless. The set up can be a little touchy. This printer is popular Walmart ran out of them at one point online. Amazon has free delivery for items $50 and up the printer was at my door in less than a week via UPS.

This morning the Canon printer arrived. My kids helped me install the printer and it was very easy to set up. My kids helped me set up the computers on the printer network. We were able to install all the printers on the network except the Mac. The Mac runs OSX 10.6 and it should have installed it using the Canon software provided. The printer was installed using Apple's Bonjour software instead.Navigation:Navigation was easy to use as a scroll wheel is used to select the wanted features.As to printing:*Color pages are washed out and not true to color.* Black and white pages were clear and crisp.*Pages are slow to print. PC World rated the print speed at 5.7 pages per minute for black and white. Canon does not seem to provide an actual page count.*Duplex printing is automatic and easy to use for PCs. The Mac never seemed to access this feature.*Scanning was excellent. The scan was done in 8 bit color and was reasonably fast.* I could never get a PDF file to fully print. The printer would quit in the middle of the print job and never finished printing the document.FAX:We did not try the FAX feature as this is something we do not normally use.Canon Research:Canon as part of its set up procedure asks users if they would like to participate in an anonymous on-going survey. The survey is fine except the request seems to want to include information from your computer's software logs. The survey would be on an ongoing basis and is truly voluntary. You can easily opt out, if desired.I would recommend researching and finding another printer, if possible. For some this printer may work, but for me I will take a pass.

I needed a printer/scanner/fax to replace a broken machine. This had good reviews, high star ratings, and a fantastic price - so I bought it. Most of this machine is excellent. Packaging is secure, ink is included, and you get a small trial pack of photo paper. It's quick to plug in and set up. The "Getting Started" paper guide has you printing in minutes. Print quality is very good. Wi-fi connection worked beautifully and only took a few extra minutes and installation of the software on the CD to get connected to all five machines on my network.The main flaw? I need to receive faxes, and good grief! I'm still struggling. The directions in the "On-screen Manual" are very poor and badly organised - requiring me to flip back and forth between information scattered across many pages. There is no troubleshooting provided for the fax side of this machine. The small, cutesy display is sufficient for print options, but fails badly when trying to navigate the myriad fax options. There are so many options and functions that I don't know whether I've accidentally chosen some that are incompatible, or whether my fax is broken, or (most likely) Canon hasn't encountered the concept of plug and play...Summary: Printer - excellent. Wi-fi - easy. Scanner - good quality. Fax - consider buying another machine unless you have a lot of free time or a resident geek.

For the price, I don't think you can beat this product. It scans, it copies, it prints and it's wireless. Just a few years ago, such a machine would have cost at least $300 and now you can buy one for the price of a dozen lattes. Amazing! I bought this simply for use in my motorhome, to avoid having to lug a printer back and forth. I needed a scanner to avoid those trips to Kinko's to fax documents. It's not particularly fast and the ink is rather expensive compared to other printers I own. For my occasional usage needs, I found this to be a terrific buy and would recommend it to anyone who needs a printer/copier/scanner with a small footprint and who doesn't print more than 1000 pages per month. Hopefully some of the secondary market ink suppliers will drive down the rather pricey cost of the cartridges, at which point I would recommend this for those who have a greater need for the print/copy functions. Installation was a breeze, though I am not using this wirelessly since my computer sits less than a foot from the printer.

Received this printer a few days ago - the set up (with a Mac) was flawless. Others have observed that it was difficult to get it working, but we had no problem. Followed the directions, and in about half an hour the software was installed and the printer was recognized over the wireless network. Sometime later I added a PC laptop - and it, too, flawlessly connected to the new printer. And then it was time to try using the iPad - and with the assist of Print Central app, it also works with the printer. Can't ask for more than that. The speed is better than our previous Lexmark - and my only "complaint" is that the printer is noisy. It's not really a significant issue for us, however. So, bottom line: if you're looking for a very inexpensive, and very good basic printer - this Canon is the one!

I have only had this printer for 1 week but have used it A LOT in that one week. I have 2 laptops and a desktop computer all on my home network so having a wifi printer was a necessity. It was SO simple to install into each of the computers and works so well! You have to set up the wireless on the flip up panel on the printer, which only took me a minute or two... very simple. You install the software to any computer that will be using the printer and you are ready to go! The printer itself is perfectly shaped, just a box shape that makes it functional in a busy room. No extra plastic pieces sticking out beckoning children to play with it. The paper tray is inside the bottom of the printer, like a large copy machine. You pull out the tray and load a pretty good sized stack of paper then push the tray back in where it's completely invisible. When you select to print something the printer automatically pops open a little door on the front for the paper to come out of and rest upon. The scanner bed on top has a very thin low profile flip top lid and holds an 8.5x11 sheet of paper. It prints so quietly that I can't tell if it has started when I am sitting at my desk across the room.I cannot comment on the print quality of photos because I don't print photos at home, but the draft setting for regular printing it pretty good. I have no reason to pring on a high quality and don't want to waste the ink so I'm pleased with the way it turns out on a lower setting. There are a lot of other reviews where people rate the photo quality so check out some more if that is what you need this for.I am completely satisfied with this purchase and am SO glad I got it. For the price this is a great deal.

The printer is fine through the USB connection and my wired computer can print to it, but wireless laptops cannot. I am suspect that my wireless access point does not route between wireless devices, but this is not the straight-forward setup I expected.

I was connecting this printer to my netbook which does not have a cd drive. After mulling through Cannon's book for an hour + I put it aside and went to their website. I had the driver downloaded in no more than 4 minutes and everything setup in 10!!!! Seriously wether you have a cd drive or not, I would follow these instructions, it was way to easy even for a novice like me!First set up the printer, I used only the power cord, I did not use ANYTHING else! On the printer press the setup button, select wireless Lan setup press ok. Select yes, select easy setup, (the booklet then says to select an access point SSID but it didn't ask me that), then your network key (whatever code you used to set up your wireless, usually your phone number), press ok if correct, press ok and your done.Go to Cannon's website///bottom of the page technical support///choose support and drivers///choose printers////choose the mx350 (or whatever printer you purchased)////drivers and software and select your operating system (mine was windows 7)////download the first driver choice///it will walk you through the rest.EASY!!!!I can't comment much on the printer since I just purchased it today, It is larger than my previous hp, it does seem noisy but my hp was to, the print quality is much better than my hp. For the life of me I can't find a cancel button though!

I like the wireless feature. I have enough cables in my office I did not need more. The printer is fast, with good quality prints. The fax is easy to use (once you read the manual). The copy feature is easy to use and works fast and well. I always find the issue I run into is running out of ink but that is expected. Overall a good unit and I am satified with it.

It is frustrating to set up its wireless connection every time. For most of time, it simply does not work.It also had problem with mac driver but eventually comparing to its own wireless issue, nothing else does really matter.It is ok as a wired printer though, so I give 1 star instead of 0.

Admittedly, I still haven't much time to do very much printing with this printer, but from what I've initially seen I am really impressed. This printer comes with functions you would hope for in an MFP today like wireless printing and scanning. The very first thing I noticed with this printer is that it is substantial. The desktop printers I have had in the past have all felt very light and flimsy. This one feels really quality made to me especially considering the price. The setup did take a little time, but not too lengthy. I was also impressed by the onscreen graphics given to help take you through each step of the setup. It made it fairly simple with the "getting started" manual coupled with the on-screen steps. I was also impressed with how smoothly the wireless setup went. The drivers don't seem overly bloated like I've seen in the past and it simply worked for me.The only hiccup I found was with scanning wirelessly back to the computer. When I initially tried this it resulted in an MP Navigator error on the computer. After looking on Canon's web site under support I found that an additional piece of software needed to be installed, MP Navigator EX. Once that was installed it worked perfectly. I did follow the "getting started" steps, but I did not see this spelled out anywhere.Ultimately, I couldn't be happier at the moment with this printer. It is so nice to have the flexibility to print wirelessly and so far I feel like Canon finally got it right. I've tried some other products in the past, but haven't been nearly as pleased.

I don't know whats up with the people saying their having trouble with their fax, they must have set it up wrong. I have time warner digital home phone service and can send/receive faxes easily. I love this all-in-one printer! BEST MACHINE EVER! Its really bulky but that was excepted seeing how it does so many wonderful things. My husband set it up without bothering with instructions. Made my life so much easier :)

I recently got a Canon MP560, primarily because of its wireless technology - it set up flawlessly and intuitively on my home wireless Vista system in about 15 minutes. It is a great printer, and I'd give it an easy 5 stars were it not for Canon's "forced" use of its inks.I've been using Canon printers for many years - I like the quality they build into them, and the fact that Canon's printers are always priced far below their true value - But this is because Canon doesn't make their profit on the sale of the printer, they make it on the sale of the inks, for which you pay ridiculous prices.Canon is no worse than any of the other printer companies, so forget about finding a better option - but there is a way to avoid those high priced inks - learn how to fill your own cartridges.For many years I refused to buy any Canon printer that used a "chipped" cartridge - no matter what Canon says regarding why they started putting chips on their ink cartridges, the real reason is to make it almost impossible for 3rd party compatible ink cartridge makers to produce knockoffs of Canon's ink carts, and to frustrate home re-fillers. But that's exactly what I'm suggesting you learn to do - if you even just use a moderate amount of ink carts, you'll save hundreds of dollars a year by so doing.Over the years, Canon has lost a series of court cases regarding their contention that they can force their customers to buy only Canon inks carts for their printers! Sort of like GM insisting you buy only their gas for a GM car (if they made gas). So there is nothing illegal about refilling your own carts - and if you go to [...], you'll learn how to refill the correct way (especially the German "Durchstich" method). Everything you need to know is here.Yes, refilling ink carts can be quite messy - be sure to pay attention to good process prep, and go carefully for the first few times until you get a comfortable feel for avoiding a sloppy process. The Durchstich method is the best way to stay clean and avoid a mess.

Couldn't be happier with how easy it was to set up the wifi. I just popped in the installation disc and it basically did all of the work for me in under 10 minutes! Scanning is quick and easy. Machine looks pretty sleek and is light enough to move around.

I purchased the Canon Vixia HF S200 a little over a month ago, specifically for shooting my web show on YouTube. The camera has an excellent picture, especially when shooting in the highest HD resolution. The only time the picture quality suffers is when you're in a room that isn't well-lit. In dimmer environments, the picture becomes pixelated. So bottom line: this camera thrives in well-lit environments.Also, the interface on the camera can be slightly confusing at first, but is manageable. It's all touch-screen, which is nice, but the scroll bar is on the right side of the LCD monitor, which isn't my preference.Battery has very short life! Only lasts about 50 minutes when shooting in HD! Recommend buying the upgrade battery.Overall though this is a great camera from a quality standpoint. It offers an excellent HD picture at a mid-range cost.PROS: Great HD Picture at a more affordable price of $739. Blurs the line between cheap HD cameras and expensive professional HD cameras.CONS: Poor interface, short battery life, must be used in well-lit environments for optimum picture quality.

So far everything works fine and the picture is great. The 3 speed zoom option is great and all the picture settings are really easy to navigate. They are two cons however with this cam. The first one is the short batt. Life, but I knew that before buying so I got a bigger batt. The other big con is with viewing the LCD screen on the sunny day. Let me warn you, you won't be able to see anything on the LCD, forget about it. It's a major flaw because most of my recording is outside. I'm debating if to return the cam for that specific reason. Other than that it's a great toy.

Cons:-as others reviewers have pointed out, you can't stand too close for a wide enough picture - the up-close aspect ratio is awkward-user interface is not the most intuitive - took a long time too figure out how to change any basic settings.Pros:- videos and pictures are of amazing quality- great, handy design and size- ready to go in a moment

I have owned this printer now for over a month and I want my old broken printer back. This is one of the biggest pieces of junk I have owned. While it is nice that it is wireless and can print regular documents just fine don't try to do anything else. I have tried several times to print b & w Jpeg pics and PDF documents (such as a resume). Every time I print those type of documents they come out grey and white instead of black and white. I have tried adjusting the settings and even called Canon for help. They asked me to look and see if I had the grey scale button checked when I told them I did not they accused me of lying and told me I had no clue what I am doing with computers. I have been using computers for a long time and am very proficient with them. I would not buy another one of these printers nor would I recommend it to anyone else. Waste of money and piece of junk.

AMAZON SHOULD NOT HAVE SOLD THIS MP530 PRINTER. AFTER PRINTING A FEW PAGES, THE ALARM LIGHT COMES ON AND IT STATES " PAPER JAMMED." TO DO MORE PRINTING YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE PAPER, RAISE THE SECTION WHERE YOU CAN SEE THE INK JETS THEN LOWER,AND THEN PUSH THE " OK " BUTTON. FROM THEN ON YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THIS PROCESS FOR EACH SHEET PRINTED. THE FIRST 2 WEEKS, I JUST UNPLUGGED THE PRINTER AND USED MY WIFE'S PRINTER AND REPLUG THE NEXT DAY. MANY TIMES I THOUGHT I WOULD SEND IT BACK BUT WHY SPEND THE SHIPPING COST. CANON WILL SELL A NEW PRINTER FOR JUST A LITTLE MORE THAN I PAID FOR THIS WORN OUT MACHINE; HOWEVER MY INK JETS COULD NOT BE USED IN THEIR NEW PRINTERS.

I liked this Canon all-in-one printer a lot. I am a very non-tech person, and I was able to read the directions and set it up myself. I own a Mac Powerbook, and while I can troubleshoot a few minor things, that's about it. As I worked my way through the instruction pages it went surprisingly smoothly, and the illustrations provided by Canon really helped. Even though I got temporarily caught when I didn't have the MX340 on while trying to install the ink cartridges I was able to determine the problem with Canon's clear instructions.Like with the Canon MX340, the instruction manual is well-illustrated and explained in a clear manner that made hooking up the printer a straightforward process. It took me only a half hour to install the software, and that includes the time I spent registering.For me, the quality of the printing and the speed of the printer is good - I do not use this printer for professional reasons. I had a HP all-in-one before this, and although the print may have had a slighter higher quality resolution, the HP used up ink way too quickly. I do not think that's the case with this Canon although I have to use it more to find out. The cost of ink replacement is obviously an important issue.Note that you can get the Canon MX340 for less money, and to me it seems like the same product, minus a LCD screen. If that is important to you, then you should go with this newer model. Otherwise, that may even be the better deal.Recommended, especially for the price.

I previously had a Dell AIO Printer and got tired of the ridiculous ink prices($30/high capacity color-$39/high capacity black). I ordered this Canon MP560 printer because online reviews said it was cheaper on ink. Canon ink is available at almost any store, you don't have to order it just from them which is a plus. To compare ink costs, Dell ink was $69 for all cartridges and Canon was $55 for all cartridges with fairly similar page yield(maybe 80-100 less than the Dell AIO). I have used the printer for recipes, school papers, etc for a month with no detectable drop in ink levels.The real benefit of this printer is the Duplex Printing. You can print on each side of the page without the hassle of doing it yourself by flipping the page around. Another nice feature is the 2-on-1 printing which allows you to print what would normally fit on two sheets of paper on one side of the page, saving even more paper. The printer also has templates so if you need graph paper, notebook paper, or even sheet music you can print them directly from the printer.The wireless set-up was very easy and pain-free. Print speeds did seem a little slower than my Dell but not enough to bother me. I have not printed any pictures yet, but reviews I read stated the Canon did a fabulous job. I think this is a great printer and an awesome $80 price tag from Amazon.

After reading reviews, I just purchased the MP560 to replace an HP all-in-one that had a hardware problem after only 18 months and light use. It also replaces an old Epson 880 that finally bit the dust with apparently damaged print head. Repair for the old printers was impractical if not impossible.Set-up of the Canon is a little more complicated than other printers in that you have to install the print head and 5 ink cartridges. Read all instructions and look carefully at the diagrams and you shouldn't have too much trouble. The fact that the print head is an installable piece gives me hope that if anything goes wrong with it, you can easily replace the part yourself, instead of junk the entire printer.Setting up the wi-fi for use with my Mac laptop OS 10.6 was a matter of following the steps for programming the printer to recognize the wireless network. Installing software for 10.6 on the laptop involved downloading a newer driver from the Canon website. The supplied software installed easily on my old Mac G4 with OS 10.4. I connected a USB cable to the tower and it worked perfectly. I love the fact that the printer can be used by both computers, one over wi-fi and the other with USB.This machine is heavier and larger than the HP all-in-one, but hopefully it is also sturdier. It closes up completely to prevent dust from entering the machine. I like that the paper tray is under the machine and the paper lies flat. The interface is a little more complicated than some, but it makes sense once you familiarize yourself with it. Borderless prints on the supplied photo paper look professional quality, and you don't have to install a special photo ink cartridge. This printer is relatively quiet but a bit slower than I expected. The output tray opens automatically when you start to print, preventing the paper jams that occur with other machines if you forget to open the output.I have read complaints of the need to frequently change expensive ink cartridges. I find the cost of these cartridges about average. I think all manufacturers make most of their money on the sale of cartridges, so I don't know if you can find anything better out there.Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase which costs little more than a set of ink cartridges for my old machines. The MP560 can do everything I hoped it would. Now the real test is if it still works as well 3 years from now...

I had to run the installer 5 or 6 times to before I was able to successfully print to it wirelessly, and then a few months later that stopped working and I wasn't able to figure out why. So I gave up on the wireless and connected to it using the usb cable, and it works fine. Other than that it's a solid color printer and scanner.
