This printer does everything, and it does everything well which is really amazing. I love that there are two paper sources; I keep one stocked with good paper and one with scrap and there is a simple button to toggle between them. The menus are intuitive. It doesn't require any time to warm up like some other printers and copiers I've used. The borderless photos look good. It's somewhat large, but considering everything it does that's to be expected. I'm very happy with it.

I have had this machine for two days and all I can say is..........WOW! The copy, fax, and scanner operation is pretty much standard but to print pictures the quality is unbelievable! However, I would strongly recommend using Canon photo paper for printing pictures; it makes a big difference.Overall, I am satisfied.....so much for HP printers.

For a portable printer it is great, but not as good as my BJ85 which finally gave out after 8 years. This one, which in my opinion is constructed of lesser quality plastic, doesn't appear as hardy as the BJ85 was and shakes my desk when it is printing. Appears to be slower too. I haven't had it long enough to give it a rating of 5 and am not sure whether I'd ever do so. I think, however, that it was well worth its price.

I have wanted a small, lightweight travel printer for some time and after reading a number of reviews and researching a number of options I decided to buy the Canon PIXMAiP90 Photo Inkjet Printer. I travel weekly and often need the use of a printer and so the purchase of the Canon seemed timely and has proven to be a wonderful printer. I admit I also purchased the Bluetooth option and the extended batter as well so the total cost of this bundle was right around 400.00. This is a bit pricy but after using the printer dozens of times I have no regrets for purchasing the printer or the wireless and extended battery options. The printer is easy to use, quiet and prints both color and b&w documents quickly and with very very good quality. I printed an 8x11" photo on old color paper from a small image and got very impressive results. B&W documents are crisp and of an excellent quality. What else do you want from a printer. Easy, quiet, quick and sharp quality prints! The bluetooth and extended battery options are by no means necessary but I have bluetooth and love that I don't have to carry a bunch of cables and battery charger every time I travel. The extended battery lasts a long long time. I wish I could say exactly how many hours but I have printed at least 300 pages and never had to recharge, even when the printer was not in use for more than a week.I carry my laptop and printer in a laptop backpack and even with magazines, ipods, files and the other stuff we carry around the printer feel lightweight and doesn't add a trmendous extra weight to the pack.Cartridge use seems adequate and I have yet to replace a cartridge. Installation of them is easy as is the installation of the software.I give this printer a 5 star because if has exceeded my expectations of a small, lightweight travel printer, that I also use at home. I would dfeinitely purchase this printer again.

I bought the ip90 to use while traveling, and I've been quite satisfied with the performance. So far I've only used it via IRDA and a USB connection -- I don't have the battery kit, car adapter, nor the Bluetooth adapter, so I can't comment on those. As to the printer itself:+++ Prints surprisingly fast; I was really stunned by how quickly it spits out pages.+++ Photos look quite good; also better than I expected. I tried out printing directly from a Windows Mobile phone (over IRDA) with one the 10 sheets of photo paper Canon includes with the printer; worked like a charm!+++ Great compact size with a reasonable weight... I found one of those "zipper three ring binders" -- where the actual binder rings were removable -- and it makes a great carrying case (since it includes folders for paper!), all for $9.99.+++ The printer driver natively supports (manual) duplexing, 2-up/4-up/etc. printing, and otherwise is quite full-featured (these days almost everything I print is 2-up/duplexed -- I just don't want the bulk of all that extra paper); not at all 'crippled' like, say, HP printer drivers are for their super-cheap, kinda-compact printers (e.g., the 35xx family). Granted, for the price you pay for the ip90, this should be the case.--- Text printouts aren't really as black as I'd like; closer to a dark gray.--- Lines are a little more 'jagged' that what most printers produce these days.--- True, the price is expensive, although if you think about it, it's still dirt cheap to what printers cost even just 5 years ago. The pricing of printers in general has become warped since then, with the marketing shifting to selling the mass-market printers for little more than cost and making all the profit on the ink... I suppose that Canon figures that with a portable printer like this, you probably won't really be doing THAT much printing, so they'd better get their profit up front?Overall, I'm quite satisfied. This is a solid product, and -- at least from what I've read in reviews -- seems noticeably better than HP's portable entries.

The downside of a flexible system is complexity. It reminds me why I am a Mac rather than a PC user. Engineers (yes, I am one too) love geekiness. Simplicity is often not a consideration. The MP530 Office All-In-One Photo Printer with Fax is not easy to set up. This system works OK, but we still haven't figured out how to make it print full-sized, as opposed to half-sized micro-print, pages from the computer. Yesterday I decided that a phone call to tech-support was the only way. The manual seemed unable to help. Why oh why can they not make it simple with easy-to configure on-screen setup using the computer, not the All-In-One. Geeks!

I've had this machine for about ten days now, long enough to test all its features and find that I'm 100% satisfied with every one of them.- Installation was a no-brainer on both my XP and iBook- Photos print fabulously with the sample canon glossy paper included- Scanning is extraordinarily good! And the software which allows you to manipulate your scanned images is super useful and very easy to use.- I scanned in my tax returns and saved them to PDF files in 10 minutes!- I scanned in a 2x3 photo from 1964, enlarged it to 4x5 and printed it in 5 minutes, and the new image is as good as the original!- Copying and FAXing are easy and faster than on my old HP Laserjet 3200- The back sheet feeder and lower cartridge work well, provide convenience, and fold up to protect from dust when not in use, as does the automatic document feeder up top.- The paper catcher even unfolds automatically if you are printing a document or photo and forgot to open it!- The machine is very quiet.- UI on the printer panel is intuitive, and the accompanying software is really good, with no conflicts with XP, which is often a problem.Highly highly recommend this product. Totally worth its price tag.

... out of this printer. I kept thinking it wouldn't happen again, it's so compact and handy, but I've now been through three of these (one IP80, two IP90s) and I've had enough. They just stop printing one day. No funny noises, no hints that they are getting worn out. And I really don't print that much, either. Today, two pieces of paper went through (very thin, standard paper, not even the thickness of photopaper) and it jammed... a tiny wheel and spring had come loose inside... and that's it. Total of over $700 spent on these printers in the last 2.5 years. Bah.

It only took about 20 minutes to set up. Everything worked fine except sending a fax. I could receive faxes but could not send faxes. I called tech support and that is when the fun began. I use voip(Vonage)with my broadband and the tech had difficulty understanding my setup. He asked me to take the printer to a family member's house and send him a fax using a dialup so he could test the machine. After much discussion, he finally had me slow the "send speed" down to 9600. I did that and it works fine. Overall, good machine. Tech support is another question.

While I have only had this photo printer a very short time, I can already say that it is impressive.I have never seen this good of print quality. The 4800x4800 scanner delivered a beautiful 8x10 print from a 35mm negative with no adjustments or computer assistance. The copies were quick and faithful.I am truly pleased to have purchased this MP810.I did have some trouble installing the software from the driver cd. For some reason the installation would stall at various points and after 11 or 12 tries it finally installed completely. The drivers themselves work fine.I have owned several photo printers and used Kodak dye sublimation printers. This high resolution printer simply beats all of my previous experiences. The printer is Quiet and fast. The scanner is fast and incredibly sharp. Plus it has features that I do not even have time to talk about that are truly amazing. Too many good things to say about it.

As I read prior reviews I was amazed to find that they comment so positively on durability as my experience was exactly the opposite. Last year I purchased two of these and both stopped functioning within a month. In both cases was a mechanical problem where motor and drive mechanism which moved print head stopped functioning properly....would try to print but print head stayed stuck in start up position.Like most people who travel enough to need a portable printer I am too busy to stay on hold for 20 minutes on help line or argue with someone at Staples why I no longer have box on something I want to return or exchange.I would steer clear of this one....however for what little time it did work it does print very good quality. It is light, very compact and frankly I thought print speed was more than acceptable. Only problem was occasional jam on feed ....if it would actually work would be a fantastic piece of equipment.

I have known Canon to be a very high quality company. However, I was deeply shocked and disappointed to find that this camera fails to meet the expectations I had about this camera. A few years ago I bought the Fujiffilm 3800. I loved this camera but after a few ski trips I found it rather bulky. I then bought the Canon S500 becaus of its small size and after many good reviews about the S400. For most of the pictures I take on a ski trip this camera is fine. However, if you are taking pictures other than outdoors in the daytime, this camera is worse than a disposable camera. First, there is no red-eye reduction. It simply does not work when I set it to take flash with red-eye reduction. Second, pictures taken at dusk or dawn come out blurry. I would speculate that the shutter speed is way too slow and you would need a tripod. Third, night picture?....Forget about it. I tried to get a beatiful picture of the Chicago skyline but the picture was underexposed. So, I tried the manual mode and played with the exposure settings and I could not get a setting that would produce non-blurry pictures. Looks like I'll be back in the market for a Fujifilm. After all the reviews I've read, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop (E18, LCD, etc.). Not to mention the terrible service that I have been reading about.

We truly love the Canon PIXMA mini260 Photo Printer. The quality of the photos is sharper, clearer and has brighter color than those we saw that were printed on the HP 712 photo printer. However, it would be very nice if the Canon PIXMA had 2 to 4 Gig of internal memory. Also it does not directly receive our Olypus XD photo flash card. This means buying an adapter to insert the card into in order to feed photos directly into the printer or downloading the files from the card onto the computer hard drive and then into the printer. It is not a problem as long as you have any flash card other than the XD.The adapters are a little hard to find locally. They'er avaliable on the net.All in all - the quality of the photos makes up for the file download hassle.

I'll keep this short..First off this thing still has dozens of features i'm discovering that i've just never encountered on printers. The colors are bright and life like. There is virtually no graininess in prints of hi-res digital photos. But thus far the my favorite thing about this printer... replaceable print head... i've always found that with inkjets, the printer gets retired in little more than a year because the heads clog, leaving me wasting huge amounts of ink on cleaning processes and endless head alignments (btw, this printer does its own alignment). The head, like the inks, is very easy to replace and affordable. The device itself seems very solid and i'm anticipating a very long life out of it.. Grats to Canon on a great little machine.

My NB-1LH came with my S410 that I bought 2 years or so ago. It's lasted this long and still works a bit, which is why it got 4 stars. I'd give it three and a half for the capacity of the battery. It's never lasted a long time, but perhaps it's my own fault as I leave the LCD on almost all the time. When I first purchased the camera, I could get probably 100 pictures with flash and leaving the LCD on nearly continuously. Now after over 2 years of every other day use (at least, with 2 kids that love the camera!) I can only get perhaps 30 to 50 pictures before it starts giving the red low battery sign. Once that comes up, I'm lucky to get 2 more shots before the camera shuts itself off and gives the "Change the battery pack" sign. So, I'll purchase a new one in hopes that I can get another 2 years out of it! The camera itself has been great but that's another review. To the previous reviewer who questioned where the batteries were made, my original one that shipped with the camera 2 years ago was made in china according to the label.

The Pixma MP530 provided all the features I was looking for. I wanted a printer with different ink tanks for each color, I wanted a fast printer with great print resolution. This printer has a great scanner and copier and works quite nicely. I have yet to make use of the fax capability, but I did not buy it for that anyway. I only have two complaints. First, I came from several years of using Epson printer products. The durabrite ink from Epson is so much nicer in that it doesn't smudge when it gets a slight drop of water on it. Canon does not have any comparable ink. Second, when you print full color photos with a lot of blank there appears to be some significant banding of the colors. Other than that, the batch scanning works great and the print resolution is outstanding, even in draft mode.

I just printed some 53 year old 35mm slides as 4x6 prints and was very surprised at the quality of the colors and clarity of the prints. The Fade Restoration option is great for some of those slides that need a little "extra". The fact that you don't even need a computer to get started is a big plus. Of course, you do get a lot more versatility with the computer software, but if you just want quality prints from film, slides, cameras, etc. without the hassle of loading up software, this is great!Con - it is a bit on the bulky side, so make sure you have enough room to set it up. I have mine on a card table so that I have more room to lay out the slides I want to print.I give it a "thumbs up".

I just bought the S400 from Dell for $xxx a little while back and was considering the Sony DSC-P10 at the time as well. I figured I'd write up a review on amazon to help other people out that are in the decision making process.Price:-----The Sony DSC-P10 is 5 MP vs. 4 MP for the S400. The difference in resolution may immediately sway your decision to teh DSC-P10, but I would think very carefully. While the extra 1 MP sounds like a lot, my old 2.0 MP Canon S00 was fine for priting pictures all the way up to 8x10 (w/o any cropping). 4 MP resolution should allow you to price 11x14 with no cropping, and 8x10 with a lot of cropping. 5 MP is just excessive IMO. These days, it's just a race among manufacturers to see who can advertise the highest MP number.Shooting modes and menus---------------------------------P10 also has some convenient shooting modes which make it more user friendly. It also has great features like cropping, resizing and rotating right on the camera which helps when you are not by a computer and want to free up room on your media storage. The Canon S400 has a far superior menu system and is much easier to use. Size:-----Canon S400 is smaller, making it a more pocketable camera IMO. Trust me on this one. The specs shown them being only very slightly different in dimensions, but the total volume of the cameras makes the S400 ideal. Those with bigger hands may prefer the layout and slightly larger size of the P10 though.Memory storage:---------------The P10 uses Memory cards, which are limited to 128 MB, unless you use the double sided ones (Sony Memory Duo), where you can flip them over to get another 128 MB. Far too much hassle for me.. sounds easy in theory, but in real life, you will hate it. My friend who bought the P10 surely does. You can get larger memory sticks, which comes in the form of the "Sony Memory Pro", which are 256 MB and 512 MB. Keep in mind though, that these cards have problems acting as regular storage for files, and things like Mp3s for sony mp3 players. They have some type of digital rights management (DRM) on them that have causes lots of problems for people (so i've read on many reviews). Also, these PRO cards only work in 2003 (or newer) sony devices. Lastly, the memory pro cards have some type of management files on the cards themselves, taking up about 20MB of space. So a 256 MB card, really only has about 230 MB. Maybe not a big deal, but com'on, at advertise the size correctly!Battery Life:-------------Battery life on P10 is better than the S400. It will last about 20% longer. However, the batteries are cheaper for the S400 AFAIK and they also charge in about 1/2 the time vs. the sony batteries.Conclusion:-----------All in all, i think the S400 is a better choice. Sure, CF maybe outdated in a few years in favor of smaller, superior storage media like SD, MMC or xD cards (which are going up to 1 GB btw), but until then you can get a great digicam with dirt cheap media. I picked up a 512 MB Kingston card for very cheap from eBay.Tips for those buying the S400:-------------------------------1. Ensure you buy good quality CF cards for the S400. CF cards have on-board processor on the cards themselves which actually regulate how fast the read+write is, unlike smartmedia which reliees on the camera. This means that CF cards will differ greatly in speed for read+write performance. Recommendations are Viking, RiData and Kingston. I have used about 7 or 8 different types of cards, and these are definitely the best in speed and reliability. Viking can be found cheap on Amazon deals quite often (with rebates), and kingston and ridata can be found on eBay for cheap.2. Buy the legitimate Canon branded NB-1LH batteries. They can be had for about $30-$40 if you look hard enough. Stay away from NB-1L (notice the H is suffix is missing). The NB-1L is the lower capacity battery for these cameras. Stay away from aftermarket batteries. Sure they sell for MUCH cheaper (often 1/3 the price), but reliability and longevity of these are just brutal. There are always exceptions to the rules -- some ppl have have great experiences, which others have dead batteries almost right away. Why risk having a dead battery while you are on vacation and miss those Crucial shots of your wife/gf? Spend the extra $15 and get the real-deal batteries.Recommended purchase:----------------------Canon S400-256 or 512 MB Viking, RiData or Kingston CF card-1 extra battery NB-1LH-Camera Case PSC-100 -- padded case with front storage for extra battery and storage. Very compact and nice looking.

Perfect for a home office, with an additional bonus of printing pretty good photos. Great Printer, Scanner and Fax.The only issue I had was getting this to work with an older version of XP service pack 2. I had a 5 year old PC that had been patched, and repatched, with XP sp 2 updates. This caused the PC to not recognize the Canon drivers...even though I was previously using a Canon 8400F with no problems (Canon said the issue was the printer drivers). As timing had it, I had to upgrade to a new PC anyways, and the drivers installed beautifully on the new machine...validating what Canon support had told me about XP patches. Very happy about this purchase. Was also looking at the MP830, but I just didn't need that much machine, or the display.

I bought the IP6000D a couple of months ago on recommendation by a friend. My friend was right...the photo quality is amazing, especially if you use Canon's Photo Paper Pro. I tried printing the same photo on Photo Paper Pro and the Staples brand Photo Supreme High Gloss Paper and the difference was definitely noticeable. The photo looked pretty good on the Staples Brand paper, but looked even sharper & more vivid on the Photo Paper Pro. Anyway, after a couple of months of normal use, a white line started to appear down one side of my prints. Obviously, the printer wasn't printing there. I called Canon's tech support and after trying several cleanings & tests, it was determined that they would send me a replacement printer - a refurbished one, not a new one - and I would send mine back to them. They covered all shipping costs. I wasn't thrilled about getting a refurbished one, but I figured, as long as it worked, I'd be happy. When I got it, I tested it out right away. Printing from the paper tray was no problem. Printing from the manual feed, however, was no good. It wouldn't grab the paper. Again, called tech support. After trying several things to fix it, it was again decided that they would send me another refurbished replacement. Several days later, I get my 2nd refurbished printer. I plug it in and open the top to put the ink cartridges in. Now in order for me to put the ink cartridges in, the carriage needs to move to the center of the printer, which normally happens when you open the cover. Did this happen? No. So AGAIN I call tech support. They apologize profusely & tell me all they can do is send me another refurbished replacement. But this time, I wasn't going along with it. I told them I had been very patient about trying out two of their refurbished printers, but that it obviously wasn't working out and perhaps it was time for them to send me a new one. After all, that's what I paid for just 2 months ago. I was on hold for a long time. But it was worth it. When he came back on the line, he said that they would not only send me a NEW printer, but an upgrade as well (the IP 6220D). So, though there were some snags with the refurbished printers, Canon's customer support was ultimately pretty good. I just got the new printer today. I'll write a review about it after I try it out.

Nothing that Canon offer is true. the quality of the color is well below average, indeed very poor. the ink last for no more than some copies and the price of the cartridges are well above average. I can't describe all of the difficulties I have faced with this product. And if you have time, try to contact the customer service, an average waiting time of more than half and hour as a mimimum. And you never get the right answer. I am considering taking the product to the garbage. And for the price, almost $200 you can buy a laser printer that work better. Avoid this product!

I have always been a Epson kind of guy. But I decided to go with Canon this time. I'm glad I did. Right out of the box this A-I-O is easy to use- printing, copying and scanning are straightforward and almost intuitive. Believe me, I'm no geek, but I have not had to use the Owner's manual once.

I had just bought this printer Feb 14, 2007. I tried using the duplex (double -sided) printing. The duplex feeder is not working and is damaged. I had just contacted CANON & they said that I'm eligible for a warranty exchange but they will be sending me a REURBISHED unit. I do not know if it's the printer or if it's AMAZON. I bought an EPSON CX6400 2 yrs ago from AMAZON and just like this one, there was something wrong with the feeder and the same thing happened, they had to give me a refurbished unit. LAST TIME I WILL BE BUYING ANY PRINTERS FROM AMAZON....

I travel a lot and have a lot of Canon equipment, so I thought this would be a good choice. Prints look good and it is super small. Unfortunately, I had to take it in for a full rebuild 3 times under warranty, and I really don't use it much at all. That might be part of the problem. The heads dry out really fast, and after a while, it doesn't even see the new ink cartridges. My cost per print runs about $3 because of the waisted ink. It has definitely NOT worked a lot more than it has worked. Prints that I made on the canon photo paper faded right away. In conclusion, I have 6 Epson printers, and they have problems as well, but nothing like the Canon. Not recommended.

The printer worked ok for a short period of time. Its obvious from its flimsy construction that this is a budget printer. The warmup cycle is long, loud, and fairly annoying. The color printing was far below the detail on an old HP 960c printer that I also used. However it worked ok for printing text with a few graphics, things like webpages. This however is not an adequate photo printer. Like many of the reviewers here I purchased the printer because of the Consumer Reports review and the printers low ink costs. What the Consumer Reports review unfortunately does not emphasize is that HP ink is more expensive because the print-head is contanined in the cartridge. Compare this to Canon printers which have a static printhead that is prone to trouble. After a short period of time my printer started to print text poorly. I replaced the ink cartridge, went through the canon series of cleaning and alignment and the problems persist. At that point your choice is spend $100+ on a new printhead or throw the printer in the garbage. I chose the latter. Looking at the reviews for this printer I would be interested to know if people who bought it still had their rosy opinion of the printer a year or so later when the printhead failed on them. I would say many would change their opinion of it. Canon printers look good on paper with the low ink cost. But when you factor in the design flaws: top-loading paper, static print-head. In the real world these printers dont live up to expectations. I much prefer the enclosed, bottom loading paper, and ink-cartridge based printhead on my HP Deskjet.

I really like this printer. I had problems with the printer at first and called Canon and they sent out a new one (not refurbished) right away and paid for shipping on the other one to be sent back. Canon's customer service was very friendly and helpful and I understood the people I spoke with. I did not have to wait for ever to connect to customer service and they did everything to help me out. I have used it for photo's and it really looks like professional prints, very crisp and clear. I have actually framed a few of the photo's. My previous printer's have been hp and lexmark . I was not very happy with hp all they were willing to do was to send me a refurbished printer, when I was having problems with the printer I had of thiers. Lexmarks customer service was awful. This is my first Canon product and I can say I really think it is a great printer. I also could not beat the price thru amazon. Great deal.

We had purchased an after-market replacement battery when our original (which was about 5 years old) died. The after-market battery only held the charge for about 1/2 a day. Found this battery on Amazon and used it on vacation in the beginning of Feb. When traveling again at the beginning of March, realized that we never took the charger out of the suitcase - this battery hasn't needed a recharge yet! We haven't used it all day long so far, but we do use it at least a couple times a week. As good as the original!

I have not had any problems with this printer. I have had it for just over a month. I have not needed to use the fax so I can not comment on that. Setup was quick and easy. The 4x6 pics are wonderful. The software that comes with it has red eye reduction, and it is the best I have ever seen. At this point I am very satisfied with my choice. I am also very impressed with Amazon and will do more ordering from them in the future. My printer arrived in just two days.

Despite the scanner making a little to much noise,(not all the bad) everything else this little bugger offers is top notch. The best feature has got to be the clarity in the printing of color photographs. For the money I doubt that there is much out there that could meet the expectations of this Canon. Its easy to install new cartridges, prints quickly without problems, and has a fax! Although i do have some problems with my call waiting not working while the fax is connected, that is actually minor unless your faxing all day long. ***** Nice job Canon.

Unlike the other multi-function printer from the leading brand, whose acronymn should stand for Horrible Printers, this printer's parts haven't fallen off after several days use.So far I am pleased with the rich features and the print/scan quality. I should've given it 4 stars as I have used it only about a month now. Need to see the durability of this product. Also it seems a bit noisy. But nothing that really bothers me. The startup time is a bit longer than the other brand. But again no big deal there. The bottom line is durability and reliability which is yet to be seen.If it is anything like other Canon products, I am sure to be a happy customer.

I bought this printer with faith in Cannon and from what other people have said. But, after using it a couple of months....the scanner broke. Luckily it was still under warrenty and I had it fixed. It was a pain not having it for several days, but since then however, it's been great. It prints beautifully and is user friendly. It's attractive and feels solidly made. I don't like the fact that the display window is so small and not lit...which makes it a little hard to see. All in all, except for the original problem, this printer serves all my purposes and more. Reasonable price for the quality and options.

This all in one does a very good job on picture quality prints. I have had no complaints or any difficulties with the machine as of yet. If there is anything negative to say about this machine it would be the small ink tanks and the cost of replacements. All in all a good machine.

I originally wrote a four-star review about this unit. But after several months of use, I've completely changed my mind. It seems that the little chips Canon puts on the cartridges to prevent you from using 3rd-party carts are either poorly engineered or intentionally designed to fail after a certain amount of time. As many others have noted in their reviews, you get error messages saying that two carts of the same color are installed, a cart is missing, a cart is faulty, etc. etc. And when that happens, you can't use the machine for anything, even scanning.Don't waste your money. Canon is trying to force you into using their carts, and in the process crippling the printer. Mine is in the dumpster after less than a year. And it was sitting crippled for most of that year. Canon should be ashamed of how they have treated their customers with this machine.

I have used it for bulk scan, fax, printing and copying (both colored and B&W) and I don't feel a need for a bigger more expensive product for my home office use. I now understand why this product never goes for a huge sale. Cheapest that I have seen it being $149 and it is worth every penny of it.
