If you are looking for a large format photo printer at a great price this is it. Easy to use. Really nice, accurate color. Doesn't use archival ink so not for long-term fine art prints but great for working prints and professional documents. Set up with my iMac was a breeze. I've only had it a month but have put it to a lot of use in that time and so far so good!

Like all Canon products I've used over the last 20 years, this printer is easy to use and reliable. I don't know why they didn't include a retractable printing tray though. I thought that was pretty standard. I bought this knowing that it lacked the tray, but potential buyers should be aware of this in case you want to use it on a shelf instead of a desk top.

Great wifi printer. Print quality is very good and it was easy to setup. Would definitely recommend to anyone. The printer is rather large but the feeder holds a ton of paper.

I bought this for school and do not do any fancy printing on it, but it has worked wonderfully. I actually found the setup to be extremely easy. All you have to do is follow along with the booklet while the software is being installed and there are no problems. For wireless, do not connect to cable until step 9 on page 30. Then leave it plugged in until step 11 on page 33 (when it says "Disconnect Cable"). And you're done! I finished very quickly and am happy with the results.

My Epson Stylus R2400 stopped loading paper correctly and I needed to get a replacement printer far quicker than I would have wanted.With time and circumstance not being a luxury on a Sunday evening, and that other models at the store I knew were rubbish, I ultimately went for the Canon Pixma MP560.The printer is a hybrid of pigment and dye-based ink. Black is pigment, color is dye. Not sure why this would be the case, but if dye-based ink can really last over 100 years if stored behind UV-coated glass, the pigment/dye controversy becomes moot.Image quality is fantastic; business cards come out crisp and detailed. Especially coming from a 8-color process (C,M,Y,K, light M, light C, light K, light light K) my previous printer had, this little printer does put out rather good color gamut. It's not the same and it certainly can't be, but the output quality is impressive, especially for the price.Conversely, the lack of wide-format paper is a huge minus as I often print 11x14 and 11x17", or up to 13x19". But for $100, it's hardly a complaint.A removable print head mechanism AND separate ink cartridges means less waste of individual inks. That's another plus.Amazingly, this printer features automatic duplexing. Not for business cards, obviously, but that's a great feature to have.The printer runs quietly and smooth. Nice.Works great with Windows and OS X. I use both platforms. Driver setup is a snap.I don't care for the scanner component, however. There's nothing wrong with it per se, but my own dedicated flatbed offers a higher scan resolution (the Pixma has a 2400x4800, my dedicated flatbed is 4800x9600).This is a great basic-use printer. Print quality exceeds photo lab quality due to use of pigment inks. People needing a scanner will find the integrated one adequate - at 2400x4800DPI, it's better than competing models in this price range, but my own dedicated flatbed scanner does a higher resolution.

I read many reviews and finally ordered this MX882, took a tech support call to set it up with my Mac (for the printing part), the support staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. I really like the edge-to-edge printing capability... even on letter size plain paper! I only gave 4-star because there are many features I haven't get to use yet.

Am quite happy with this all-in-one printer. I have a high-end scanner and didn't think I'd use this scanner at all, but the ability to quickly scan documents and use the included software to create multi-page PDFs for emailing, etc. has proven to be a fast and convenient feature. It also comes in handy using this as a de-facto copy machine in a pinch.It also configured wirelessly easily and print quality is decent for an inkjet. Overall I think it offers a pretty nice package for the money.Ink goes quick though. I get all my ink from secondary retailers and manufacturers, which helps save costs, but if I had to print a LOT I guess I might not recommend this as ink seems to go faster than any printer I've ever had.We'll see how long it lasts long term, but thusfar it's been a better product than I expected and thus one of my favorite purchases of late.

Cons: 1)Ink runs out WAY too quickly, even the color ink when we usually print B/W. 2)It doesn't like/recognize ink cartridges that have been refilled. 3)It takes forever to "warm up", which may partially be due to it trying to recognize refilled ink cartridges.

Got in on this due to my KSO giving it to me for under $70 bucks. Very fast printer..ink appears to last longer than normal starter ink sets. The cool little LED lights on the ink is a nice touch..but probably also means harder to get aftermarket ink? Anyway-nice looking machine at an affordable price. Will not regret this purchase. Replaced an old brother printer that did not even have memory card slots..so this one is also a plus because of that.

Prints good as far as documents, papers. However, I have tried multiple settings snd I have yet to get it to print a decent photo. I am using the same photo paper I used with my old HP printer. I thought that since it was a Canon (and they make cameras) that it would print nice photos. Also, had a helluva time with the wireless part of it. I plan on getting rid of this printer very soon.

In 2005 I bought a Pixma 150. It ran flawlessly until 2011. I researched and found Canon still had the best reputation. It was very easy to set up. The CD-ROM was easy to follow. The book was a little hard to follow. The most difficult thing to do is to put written instructions into the other persons frame of reference. I would recommend this printer to anyone. It is much improved over my 150. Amazon is also the best. Quick and efficient!!! Thank You.

ink runs out very fast, expensive to replace it cost about 20 cents a page just for ink. i bought mine 2 months ago printed only 150 papers and ink is low already. buy more expensive machine that has cheaper ink

When my old printer died, this one happened to be on sale so I bought it because the price was right (fifty bucks). I scan a lot and the document feeder actually works better than the last two all in one units I've used. The image comes out nice and clear (I scan using Adobe Acrobat so you don't even need the native interface). The printing works great with pictures coming out clear along with pretty much anything else.The only thing that may be problematic (it isn't for me) is that the printer makes a bit of a racket. Also, if you haven't printed anything in a while, it can take 20 or 30 seconds to "warm up". I haven't tried faxing from it but since everything else works great my guess is that probably does too.

Installation was easy. Printing noisy but fast and loved the double side. Copying and scanning features worked fine. Never tried faxing because the machine as I will explain never gave me a chance.The product came with a complete set of tricolor and black cartridges like an omen of the futures expenses I will incur on it.They run out really fast so I thought It was because they were a plus of the buy and they might be already low.Suddenly I discovered the sad true. I kept buying sets of colors and black cartridges and THE WORST PART IS THAT IF YOU RUN OUT OF ANY COLOR (YELLOW, BLUE, RED OR BLACK)THE MACHINE WON'T PRINT OR COPY.THE FUNNY PART IS THAT I DON'T PRINT COLORS, THE THING IS THAT YOU CAN STILL PRINT BLACK IF YOU RUN OUT OF BLACK INK BECAUSE THE PRINTER WILL MIX THE COLORS TO GET YOU BLACK BUT YOU NEED TO KEEP THE BLACK EMPTY CARTRIDGE IN PLACE IN ORDER TO OVERRIDE BUT THEN BECAUSE YOU RUN OUT OF BLACK YOU WILL SOON RUN OUT OF COLORS SO YOU BETTER HAVE A COMPLETE STOCK OF REPLACEMENTS BECAUSE IF YOU LEAVE THE EMPTY CARTRIDGES IN PLACE FOR LONG GUESS WHAT? THE HEAD PRINTER IS GOING TO BE DAMAGED LIKE IT HAPPENED TO ME.I looked into Amazon and saw that head printer replacement is $88 and If I add the cumulative ink expenses I better buy another printer.I bought this product obviously because I replaced my old Cannon Pixma 3000 but this one has been a mayor failure. It reminds me a case I had too replacing my old Canon photo camera by a new one that also failed.I AM DONE WITH CANON!...NO MORE!!!WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO BE IS A INK SLAVE AND I JUST DECLARED MY INDEPENDENCE F... I've owned this printer for 4 months and all I get is paper jams now. It's done. My this is the last canon printer I iwll ever et. this one the cartridge are spent within a few weeks and they're super expensive. I'm dissappointed. Should've never thrown my money away on canon.Also, I found out through friends that when you go to a new windows version, canon screws you because they dont write a driver that will allow you to keep prining with the new windows.Guess what, printers are suposed to last a lot of years and they should outlast computers by 3 to 1 so it is only natural to want to bring your printer to the next computer.canon sucks

My wife and I bought this printer yesterday. It's setup was fairly straight forward until we tried loading the supplied driver/software disk on our two x64 Win 7 laptops. It kept hanging up while trying to load the disk. After a few attempts on both machines we went to Canon's official site and downloaded the specific drivers/software for x64 Win 7. They downloaded quickly and without fuss. We would've saved a little time by skipping trying to load the disk and just getting the OS specific downloads from Canon's site. So if you're using x64 Win 7 skip the disc and go to Canon's site.

The user interface was written by IDIOTS!! Scan something and then try to find it, I dare you Scanning is the main reason for buying this, and I am truly sorry for it. Not nearly enough control of scan parameters or where to send the scan. If there is, they hid it very well. I've been using small to large format scanners for the last 20 years, and this is the worst user interface I've seen yet. Won't be buying another Canon of any type.

The printer is easy to set up on a wireless network. It took me about 80 seconds to connect the printer to my home network and then connect it wirelessly to my laptop. It is much smaller than my previous printer with also had a fax but was literally twice the size. The print quality is very good and it prints decently fast. I've used it to print a few photos which came out with an amazing quality. I would recommend this to anyone who would like to get a full-featured printer without breaking the bank.

This thing will cycle a few times before it gets around to printing your print job. Its an annoying little machine and dont even think about buying this one to print pictures. It will print your resume, but pictures are dull, flat. For what I use it for, it will do fine so Im happy with it. If you want your all in one to do a quiet, quality job, spend some more money and be happy with it.

A fine multipurpose machine for my small business needs. I use a BW laser for most printing but this one works great for occasional color use as well as scanning and faxing. Wireless set up was reasonably easy but not obvious. I'm fluent with networking and computers so I got through it.The big issue for me is the wireless aspect. It seems to lose the lock on the wireless signal after a short period of unuse. Just shut the printer off and turn it one and all is fine. So an easy fix, but a pain if you have get up, walk down a hallway, turn the power off (which takes 30 seconds) and then power up then walk back to the computer. Tech support acknowledges the problem and says the solution is just turn the printer off then on. Arggh.Other than this increasingly annoying issue, I like the printer. It is annoying enough however that I wouldn't purchase this one again.

The manual states that ad-hoc networking (ie, computer to printer directly - no router required) is notsupported. It may not be "supported" but is easily accomplished if you have a wifi adapterthat can be set in AP (access point) mode. I used a typical USB wifi adapter that has thecommon Realtek chipset and configuration utility, selected the menu item for "AccessPoint," followed the requested setup for same with encryption, inserted the Canon CD foradvanced setup (networking), used the supplied temporary USB cable and let the printer"find" available AP's. Select the new one and you are good to go. You will have to use adifferent adapter (or the internal one in your notebook) for internet access since you havedelegated the one above as "Access Point" rather than "Station." The Canon documentationis far, far below that which is the quality of the printer itself.IMHO, the writer of English documentation for the Canon printer is ignorant of how to explainsimple ad-hoc network setup to a new purchaser.

This multifunction printer is easily one of the best I've seen. It doesn't have that junky feel like that of many consumer multifunction printers I've seen, especially in retail stores. The printer is solidly built and I believe it will last me several years to come.The ADF works flawlessly, and I use it for quick scans of black and white documents all the time.The setup was relatively simple. I plugged it into an Ethernet jack on my switch, fired it up, installed the software on the PCs around the house, and all the PCs were able to print and receive scans within 15 minutes. It feeds pages reliably, scans in seconds and it prints quickly. Although I don't print many color documents, the color quality isn't quite as good as that of many printers with separate ink cartridges for each color, but it's still more than acceptable.The print quality as far as black and white goes is similar to that of a low-end laser printer - which is actually very good for an inkjet.Canon has 32-bit and 64-bit driver support for Windows XP, Vista, 7, and Mac OS X Tiger and up on PowerPC and Intel.Some gripes:- Output tray doesn't extend. It's pretty deep, though, so printing a stack of papers shouldn't be a big problem.- User interface on the printer itself isn't that intuitive, and it could use a touchscreen.- It's BIG. But bigger is better in Texas. :) Still though, it's not for your bedroom.Conclusion: This printer is not very suitable for those of you who are thrifty about physical space. However, for anyone who wants a shared multifunction printer, this one is a good bet.

I had several needs causing me to buy a new printer and this one met them all. I have connected two computers to in wirelessly and it works perfectly. We have printed photos and shared them with family and look great. I have used the fax function several times. Although I don't need it often, it is nice to have something so easy to use when I need to. No bad comments yet.

Pros:- For the price, having a printer, copier, scanner all-in-one is great. All the functions work well.- nice looking device.Cons:- HUGE con is the crappy wireless connectivity. It rarely works. I have super fast wireless internet and have no problem connecting with any other devices (ps3, iphone, etc.). It will usually work again after I reset my router but that is a hassle. A big reason to get this is the wireless so this takes the device down to 2 stars when it could have been 5.- scanner software is poorly designed. It gets the job done but not very intuitive.I didn't do enough comparison shopping to say whether this is better or worse than other printer models, but if you get this be prepared to deal with some frustration.

I simply use my printer for personal use, like printing receipts while paying bills, online shopping receipts, important documents and printing recipes etc. There is no real big demand for my printer. I simply opted for a wireless printer because I would always have to take my laptop to the printer and connect it to print. And I also wanted to be able to print from my iPod. Setting up the wireless feature was so easy It amazed me! Even setting it up with my iPod was too easy! Yes it is a little louder than my previous printer but it prints much faster than any printer I've ever owned. And I've owned many over the years. The fax works well and I love the copy feature. I don't fax very often but I do find comfort in having that feature when the need arrives, and it will. Regardless what you read in reviews, this is in fact a great all in one machine and I would recommend this machine to all of my friends and family.

So far this printer has been perfect. It's easy to set up for wi-fi, looks great, prints relatively quickly with great quality. The paper cartridge could be a little deeper, but I like the multiple paper feed feature.

I was directed to this "newer model" upon looking at the MP590, which is currently double what it cost a couple of years ago. Maybe not surprising. Canon is aiming this printer at owners of EOS SLR Cameras, claiming wireless capability, yet not including the assumed basic feature of duplex printing? (And moreover being coy about not mentioning the omission.)

WE have these printers and are fairly happy with them. They printa fairly nice photo and do text excellently. What we like more wasthat this printer has a OPTION to print only Black without the useof the Color Cartridge in case you are low or out of it (found in theMaintenance section under "ink cartridges settings" ). And this a good idea because this printer loves eating Color ink up quickly.We printed 50 color pages under the "standard" level until it ran outof Color ink (this was using the extra long life cartridge). Black seemsto last longer. Like most reviewers have said, this printer is small andtakes up little room and has no paper output tray. It is simple to installand gives you the option to just install the driver and bypass all thebloat ware.Also, this printer is noisy, but has a option to operate under "quietmode". In addition, the printer has auto power (turn on auto and turn offpower if their is no activity after a chosen period of time.. (mostCanon models do). We have switched to Canon printers after havingthe final straw with Epson's junk.DJ Tyler (WJGroup)

I had HP's Photosmarts AIO before and I wasn't thrilled. Didn't hate them, but wasn't thrilled. (Got lines across the images after a year and a half. Didn't play well with other inks.) I was very eager to try Canon. I should have read the BAD reviews! They aren't kidding! It sucks up ink incredibly fast. I never could get the scan to work with my MacBook Pro. H-A-T-E-D it. Am trying a Brother (surprise!) sounds like the ink is cheap :o) Will post a review when I've tried it.Okay, days later I now have a BROTHER MFC-J265W. Wow, what a difference. Smaller, quieter, better in all ways. AND cheaper!!! Set up was far simpler, it scans, copies, prints. I loooove it. THuuupp! to you Canon.However, I don't use my in-home office AIO for fancy photos. I just need it for lots of scans and copies. If super-excellent photo printing is important, well maybe Canon is for you. But this is great for me. Couldn't be happier.

Easy set-up right out of the box. Print quality for photos in high/low res both excellent and speed is good as well. Making copies is quick and easy. Have not used the fax yet but expect it to function as well as the other features of this printer. Great price (149) for a great printer.

We have had this printer for several months and it is amazing. I found ink on-line cheaper than any stores and it is working great. I've had several HP printers and all of them have had problems after just several months, so I decided to change to Canon and so far I'm glad I did. Print quality is amazing and I like the easy to use control panel that changes for what action you are doing.

We homeschool and have 5 laptops that use this printer. It is SO nice not to have to plug into the printer to print from various places in the house. We have had this printer for several months and have had no problems. The ink is cheap to replace and really lasts a long time. A+ all the way!

Don't buy it! Bought one today from Office Depot and when I plugged it in there was an error code. I called Canon technical support and they tried to help me but the error code continued.They said they could exchange it for a refurbished one which I didn't agree to. That was the best they could do for this pile of crap machinery.

I bought the printer and a couple of months later gave me an error saying to remove paper from the scanning trade when there was nothing on the trade. Looked up the error on the internet and found other users with the same frustrating error. Fixed the problem as suggested by one of the users by pulling tWo little white taps that are inside the printer. Until one day the error would not go away. This printer lasted exactly 6 months.I would recommend for you to search another brand.Fernando

I am a new owner of this All-In-One Canon Printer and I am loving it. Setup was a breeze and in no time I was printing wirelessly from my ten yrs old Dell Dimension XPS B1000r desktop running Windows XP Pro.When I first noticed that Amazon was going to ship this unit via fedEx unconcealed I became nervous because fedEx drivers are notorious for tossing packages around with reckless abandon. However, when I finally received and opened the package all my fears were immediately allayed. This gotta be the most well packaged product I have received in recent memory. It has layers upon layers of tapes, wedges etc. In fact it takes a while to remove all the tapes before you can get to the actual printer: Good job Canon.I first installed the included software to the point where it requested me to start detecting my printer. I selected the wireless option from the initial menu. I then installed the Print Head (after removing it from the orange case) and plugged the unit to the power supply. Next I installed the ink cartridges as instructed (flawless process). Next I used the printer menu to setup the wireless LAN network from the settings menu. I chose the "Easy settings" option and entered my routers WEP key at the prompt. I use AT&T "2Wire Wireless Gateway" and the Wep Key is located on the side of the unit. The printer pulled up my router ID, I then clicked the prompt on my desktop to detect my printer and setup was complete. It is as simple as this. Now I did not select the USB setup option as I primarily bought this printer because of the wireless capability.As far as performance goes my base reference would be my ten yrs old "HP Officejet 710 All-In-One" Printer. The HP has served me well but the reviews of the recent HP models scared me from upgrading to HP and hence my foray into the Canon MP world. Needless to say that I am glad I have made the switch: Print quality is pristine not to talk about small foot print on my work station. HP is quicker to print but noisier; not a fare comparison since I do not have newer HP models. I do not know how economical this Canon would be in terms of Ink usage but since it has individual cartridges I do not expect it to cost as much as my old HP in Ink usage. I do not intend to print a lot of pictures from this machine though.Overall this is a great printer for someone on a budget. I only wish it has fax capability too. Not a deal breaker for a lot of folks these days I suppose.

Ужасно

Totally misleading. I was looking for a real "all-in-one" and found this, cheaply priced with decent review and went for it. Then I could not find the fax capability described anywhere.
