I'm only reviewing to let people know that in all the printers I have bought in the last several years, they have NEVER come with a cable. So read the box which will not list a cable in the contents. It's not very fair to rate a printer with 1 star because it didn't come with a cable, which you would have known if you'd read the box.And I have found it is better to just go all out and buy the ink cartridges made by canon. The others do clog up your ink ports and there is pretty much no way of fixing this yourself. It's taken me 4 printers to figure this out. Now, I only buy the expensive ink made for the machines. It's more money, but I don't have to buy a new printer every year either.I hope this helps with future printer purchases

I shopped and read reviews until I thought I would go blind. Thank God I did because I finally settled on the Canon PIXMA MP530 Office All-In-One Photo Printer with Fax (0580B002)I am tickled pink. I only use for my private use but I recently had to scan and print all my doctor records from years of back problems, surgeries and pain clinics. I guess at least 1200 copies printed at least. It does use ink but they all do and why not get excellent copies. Only 1 complaint and it may be my fault. I have gone through all my color cartridges and have replaced both black cartridges 2 times already. I can understand the black, but I have printed almost all my printing in grayscale only. I have been looking for a new computer so I must have printed more copies of those with color than I realized. But still, all in all I would advise this machine even for an office. The scanning is great and the copies are clear and neat.It was easy to set up and easy to learn how to use, just follow the directions and you will be an expert in 2 or 3 hours of actual use. Just be sure you copy and print on grayscale if you do not need dark copies. I used the cheapest paper you can buy. You have complete control of the quality of the printing, scanning, and copying. You can make them as dark or as light as you want.No reply on fax I have not used it yet.

This is a very nice multi-function printer. Both the scan and print quality are excellent. The only downside I can think of is that it lacks built-in networking.

I am more than satisfied with the quality and speed of printing. Scan quality is very good for the price as well. We have not used the fax function, so can't comment about that. Setup was a breeze (even with Vista!).

Canon PIXMA MP810 All-in-One Photo Printer (1453B002)I was facing $70.00 to replace the ink in my multipurpose Lexmark or try refills. Color print quality was terrible. Read the reviews from cnet and other sources. My requirements were: separate ink for each color and high quality color prints. The MP810 does everything and more. Especially like the 35mm negative or slide feature. Even the printout door opens automatically if you forget. Next I'll try it with Canon photo paper.

This printer came free with a digital camera I purchased from Amazon, and I have not been disappointed with the printer.The printer came with everything I needed in the box to connect it to the computer, and it came with ink and software as well.It prints about average speed, and has various print quality settings to choose from when printing photos.For text, I have a B&W laser printer, but I kept this one for the occasional color document and for photos.If I were looking for a photo printer, this one would not be my main choice, but it does a decent job for the occasional family photos.The picture quality on photos is enough for my uses, but it is not quite as good as a more expensive printer would give, but good enough for framing a picture of our son to give grandpa, etc.I enjoy the fact that you can plug a memory card directly into the printer to print pictures.Overall, I am happy with the printer, especially since it was free for me!

Used this printer for a few months until it stopped working entirely about a week ago. Error with the magenta ink tank. At first I could pop tank out and in, and it would work again, now the printer won't function at all due to the very annoying error. Hopefully they will send me a new cartridge but the printer will be completely useless in the meantime.

I was shopping at Best Buy with my friend, who decided on the SD110, the smallest in the ELPH series. However, after a little research, I found that the s500 is only marginally larger than its smaller sibling. Even so, this marvel can slip into my front pocket easily and takes superb pictures. The s500 also has the distinction of having 5 megapixels--fully 2 more than the SD110, and 1 more than the cheaper s410. I'm thinking if I'm already going to be spending so much money ($500 with an additional battery pack), I might as well go all out for the best, or just stick to a cheap $200 camera. Right? And who wants to buy cheap electronics? :-PI also have the Canon A70 and the Sony Cybershot U40. While the A70 was my trusty workhorse last year, it is rather homely and bulky. While not *very* large, there would have been no way to slip that brick into my pocket, with it's protruding grip and lens. Also it is only 3.2 megapixels. From looking at the pictures I took today on the s500's "shakedown" around the neighborhood, I can already tell that it takes far more detailed, sharper images than the A70, which suffered from a minor "softness" in the pictures it took. Also, the s500 is less a camera than it is a work of art in it of itself. When off, the camera has a slim, elegant look. It has an nostalgic air of Art Deco about it. From the front, the highly polished silver and handsome gold rings around the lens will catch anybodys' eye immediately--a breathtakingly beautiful machine to take breathtakingly beautiful pictures.On the other hand, this camera is not nearly as small as the Sony U40, which was about the size of my index and middle fingers put together. However, that had no zoom and took only marginally acceptable images (2 MP and rather grainy)--I bought it primarily so I'd have a throwaround camera. In any case, the s500 is not *as* small, but it still fits into my pocket without any hassle (you'll know it's there, but it won't bother you), and the optical zoom and high image quality more than make up for it.Again, the image quality is superb, and all in such a portable package.Manual controls are light. There is AUTO, Manual, Panorama, and Video mode. In Manual, you can control the ISO and F stops, but they are not readily available, and require fiddling with the menu to access. I don't care, personally. I bought the camera for it's portability and ease of use when I want to snap pictures. I leave the wheel on AUTO and I am perfectly content with the images I get--for the average picture taker, too, I'd imagine.The movie mode is decent. This is a camera and not a camcorder, it's still part of the package, but I'll not put it into consideration when rating this camera. Subpar. My A70 could take 640x480s at 15 frames/second while the s500 only takes a sluggish 10. It's is quite choppy, but bearable. The s500 can have 15 frames a second under the two smaller video resolutions, but they still do not look as good as the videos I captured with my A70. There is just an element of choppiness that I do not like. Perhaps the increased megapixelage necessitates a decrease in smoothness, I don't know. However, the movie mode is just an additional nicety in this otherwise superb piece of machinery, and it decent, acceptable, just not as good as I know it could be, for Canons, but I know this feature is important for many people considering digital cameras.The proprietary battery is also something that I do not like (I prefer AAs) but I suppose there have to be some trade-offs--I'd suggest getting a spare, since it's theoretically supposed to last only about 2 hours per charge. I'd also suggest getting the skin-tight leather cover for this cam, since you can still fit it in your pocket while keeping that lovely luster intact, away from the coarseness of your pockets.I'd also suggest getting a CF that has as high a write speed as possible. When taking pictures at maximum size(2592x1944) and maximum resolution (super-fine), my card took about 1-3 seconds to finish recording. I could continue taking more pictures almost immediately afterward, but I would still have to wait for the images to finish writing before turning off the camera. I did not notice this when I took superfine photos at the Medium size settings. Speaking of CF, I'd also suggest getting as big a card as possible. This monster takes pictures at 1-3 Mb each which means about 100-200 picture for me--my 256Mb card doesn't seem so adequate anymore. But it's fine.Conclusion.So definately a great buy. It takes wonderful, superb pictures, and decent movies. By itself, it is a work of art, and truly is a handsome camera. All this, and is still compact enough to throw in your pocket or for the ladies, purse. There are slightly smaller and cheaper ELPHs, the sd110 and s410, but you will already be spending so much, and if you are, you might as well spring for the full 5 megapixel goodness that the s500 offers--3 megapixel c

After doing much research, and doing a side-by-side comparison of the Canon All-in-One Printers (Pixma MP830, Pixma MP600, Pixma MP510), the Epson All-in-One Printers, and the HP All-in-One Printers, I can say with complete confidence that Canon's Pixma line is easily the top of the grouping. The Epson and HP came no where close to the quality of the Canon's, especially when comparing copying onto everyday use paper.However, I purchased the MP810 sight unseen. None of the Big Boxes in my area had it available. I purchased it from Crutchfield.com and I was very happy with their service, and definitely with the speed with which they shipped. I received the printer a week before I received other items I had purchased from Amazon.com on the same order.After having played around with it for over 3wks, I am absolutely delighted with it. The PhotoStudio program that comes with it is easy to learn, and has wonderful features. Yes, the 35mm neg scanning is slow, however, since I can preview each of the negatives before committing to a scan, I can speed up the process by not including the negatives that I have no interest in. Also, I have used other more expensive scanners for 35mm neg scanning, and the MP810 is no slouch in the quality of the scan. Well worth the wait, in fact.My husband, who is an artist, and very, very picky, has been very impressed with the print quality. Now he says that we need a new camera! I printed a picture of textured sand taken at the beach, and you can see the grains of sand!The only draw back I can see, is that the MP Navigator program stinks. In fact, I have removed the shortcut from my desktop so that I don't accidentally use it....

I've had this Canon MP530 for over a month and I am absolutely delighted. I bought it to replace an Epson Ink Jet printer, which was terribly prone to paper jams. This Canon does more that I expected (even faxes in color!)and operates easily. I like the features that don't rely on a computer - copy, fax -- and the dual paper sources. Generally I use plain b&w printing the most and this machine handles that quietly and efficiently, with very good quality printing. Color printing/copying is crisp and accurate. I don't print photos often but was pleased with the tests I did when learning to use the machine. Scanning was easy and the OCR software that came with it is way better than what I had tried previously. Fax works easily though I can't set it up with our answering service (not an answer machine - that works fine, but we have a live service and the MP530 hangs up after determining that it is not a fax call ... there may be a way around this but I haven't found it yet).The directions for operating the machine are a bit complicated and there are lots of buttons and features on the MP530, but I figured it out in an hour or two (fairly experienced with computers and hardware).Overall I am tickled with this all in one!!

I recently purchased the Canon PIXMA MP530 and love it. I'm using it at home and primarily for printing and scanning. The ability to scan in a whole document through the feed or open the top and scan a book is very convenient for my studies. I have notice that when scanning from the document feed, it will occasionally scan a page crooked, which could be a problem if you are scanning for something that has to look professional. I'm a perfectionist though and I'd recommend using the open top scanning in those cases.It also was very easy to set up and fairly easy to use the programs. It'll scan to .pdf, which is very nice, but can't be directly networked, which is a pity. That isn't super important to me, so it isn't enough to detract from the other features. I've never used the fax, so I can't comment on that feature. I've only had it a month, but I would recommend this printer to others.

I wish I had known before I purchased this that printing in duplex with "Grayscale Printing" selected would soak up the color inks. Apparently, on single-sided printing this option will work as advertised, but, on duplex printing color ink is liberally used (to prevent smearing.) I wanted duplex printing to save on paper but now I'm stuck trying to decide whether I want the convenience of double-sided printing and use up the color ink on b&w print, or, go single-sided only. Looks like it'll be single-sided only. Color ink is too expensive.

I bought this printer two years ago in Iraq. If that environment and travel didn't hurt this printer, than nothing can. It has worked great ever since, and is really compact and prints wonderful pictures on photo paper. I would highly recommend this printer, and thanks go out to Amazon for shipping this to Iraq for me. Yeah Amazon :-)

I use my printer with battery pack when I am on the road. I carry it with my laptop in a backpack computer bag and always have it with my laptop. The printer was easy to set up and does a perfect job of printing text and graphics. Does an excellent job on color photos, although the color isn't quite as good as my full size cannon photo printer. The printer is fast enough and the battery charge lasts a long time. It seems like I rarely have to charge it. I'm very pleased with the printer and would highly recommend it for portable use.

The printer works good--quick. Scanner is good. The colors are not vibrant though. Everything is dull. We have tried a variety of papers and nothing seems to make any of the colors pop. We are considering looking into a laser printer instead.

I purchased this for a 19-day business trip so I could print boarding passes and maps and other business docs, and it has been a champ. It's VERY fast and even in "draft" mode it prints very well. It was easy to set up for my PC -- even easier than the instructions indicated (I didn't follow those, as they seemed out of date, and instead I simply plugged it in and the PC went through it's plug and play steps and found the right driver).I have not printed any photos with it.I would say the only drawback is that as small as it is, it does weigh several pounds and I had to bring my larger suitcase. And, carrying paper also adds weight, so my suitcase regularly hit or slightly exceeded the 50# limit. But I should have packed lighter :), and will next time.This little printer does a better job than my HP deskjet 952C (which I should replace anyhow).

Product was delivered very quickly and in great shape.I ordered this product to replace my Brother MFC420cn, which is also an all-in-one ink jet printer. I was so frustrated with the Brother because although I didn't use it regularly it kept running out of ink which then rendered the machine completely unusable. We have several Canon printers at work and I was always impressed with the easy setup and their compatibility with Apple computers. The ink cartridges also seems to last a long time without drying out the nozzle heads which some printers do. Printing is very quick and the quality is fair on regular mode. Printing with high quality photo paper gives impressive results.I would have given this product 5 stars except that you have to purchase a USB cord separately and I do miss not having an ethernet connection, which my Brother MFC420cn had. However, if you have a small office set up, you'll be very happy with this Canon. In fact, I've been very pleased with all the Canon products that I've had.

The Canon Pixma MP530 is, indeed, hard to find in stores. Having seen it on Canon's website, I was intrigued but could never find one anywhere for a hands-on look. I had decided to go with Canon's more expensive MP850, until I stumbled upon a 530 over the weekend. I've used it now for a few days and am very pleased.The 530 is quite compact for a multifunction (with FAX) machine, with a more sleek design than the larger 850. One nice feature is that paper can be loaded from a closed tray at the bottom and the print "finished" door pops open when a document is printing, so you can keep the entire machine closed when not in use - no slides and trays poking up and out all the time. It fits nicely and looks great in my small home office.The front panel is nicely arranged and the buttons are mostly self-explanatory. I had no difficulty figuring out the basic functions without looking at the manual. The LCD panel is a bit small, and not full color, and thus is useful only for programming the machine and receiving basic feedback.Print and scan quality is very good - as good as I've seen from an inkjet - and print speed is fine for a medium-volume home office setting. In addition to the bottom tray, paper can be loaded via a slide at the top. And the machine features two-sided printing.The 530 offers several alternative FAX configerations. I have a fairly complicated home phone system but was able to configure the FAX machine so as not to interfere with my phone calls and answering machine.Photo quality is acceptable, comparable to the Canon S900 photo printer I used previously. I had planned to keep my S900 but, after seeing the 530 prints, I may just use the 530 for everything. The 530 does not have a card reader, but has a USB port on the front for a camera connection.Finally, I've had no trouble sharing the printer among multiple computers via a mixed Apple Airport and 2Wire WIFI network. Just make sure you have the latest drivers and firmware for each device.Overall, the MP530 has impressed me as a very capable and stylish mid-range multifunction machine.

I'm in love with this machine!!! I have boxes of old negatives, many that I haven't had prints of for years. As soon as I got it set up I started scanning, and I am blown away with the results! They look as good as the digital photos on my computer, and print beautifully! Using with Vista & Adobe Photoshop elements, and no glitches.Also pleased with easy set-up, and user friendly software.Definately a buy!

I've had this printer for a few weeks now and overall I am pleased with it. We did have an issue right away with the Cyan printer cartridge to where the printer failed to recognize the original cartridge and kept displaying a U150 error. At first I would just "reclick" the cartridge back in and it would work - then after a few days it just stopped working for good. This error prevents the printer from working. I contacted Canon and they did ship me a new cartridge right away, which was great and I have had no issues since. However, when I bought this printer on Amazon I did not realize these cartridges come with computer chips on each one. Had I known I probably would not have bought this printer at all. It's now nearly impossible to buy OEM cartrides at a fraction of the cost of the original. I had a Canon i850 printer before and used non-Canon cartridges with no problems at all and saved lots of money. Now at $14 a pop it gets a bit more expensive to operate. Other solutions you will see are to refill the cartridges (bit messy I would think) or to remove the chip and place them on the OEM cartridge - however this thing had trouble with an original cartridge, so I highly doubt this will work very well. So overall for the price a nice printer - does a decent job of scanning/copying, prints nice pictures, can fax and do regular printing quite well. Only complaint really is the sensitivity of the printer being able to recognize the chip on an ORIGINAL Canon cartridge. They must be having fits at Canon handling customer issues. This really just proves what we knew all along - the REAL money to be made is on the ink, not the printer. And they are now doing all they can to to make life very difficult for the OEM's and to make sure we pay the ridiculous prices for precious Canon "ChromaLife 100" ink.

I have been using a Canon i550 for several years now printing calendars for my family around xmas time. Each calendar is 13 pages and I print about 20 of them (13 x 20 x 2 sides = 520) at high resolution. I use a lot of ink and the Canon cartridges are easy to refill. The print head died on the i550, so I searched for a new Canon that had similar ink cartridges to refill.Several of the PIXMA series have cartridges that look the same with the small difference that they have a chip on them. Instead of doing a visual check of the cartridge to determine if ink is low, the chip tells the printer driver after so many prints. Lame, but manageable !The i550 had 1200 nozzles (if I remember correctly) and the iP6210D has 4800 (again, if I remember correctly). Anyway, I was expecting prints to be much better than the i550. The prints seemed to be about the same, so the extra nozzles didn't seem to make much difference.The form factor is about the same, but there are a lot more buttons and features available. I don't ever print directly from memory card, so a lot of the features I don't use.I was also hoping that the print speed of the borderless 8.5 x 11 prints that I use for the calendar would be faster. This printer doesn't seem to print much faster than the older Canon.Overall it's a good printer, but the quality probably isn't much better than one of the lower end PIXMA printers.

Like most on this site I did intensive research in preparing to buy a multifunction to replace my HP officejet d135, of which I have two, home and office for about 5 years. Office one still going great, home one very persnickety. The Canons looked the best to me, and I chose this because, without a digital camera in my life, I couldn't justify the bells and whistles of the 800 series. In the two weeks I've had it I've been very pleased. It's almost spooky, like suddenly having Jeeves show up with a breakfast tray and pressed suit: the thing came out of the box ready to go; I've not looked at the instruction manual because it's intuitive enough; it's quiet, I've scanned and fooled with photos, faxed just fine, printed quickly and without problems. Loading the software was momentary, it seemed, compared to dealing with HP. I have not needed to call Canon for anything. I was put off by two things: all the talk about expense of the ink, and the lack of a great fax director program which is a real virtue of the HP software. Ultimately, though, the ease of use, and consequent peace of mind, is worth so much. I've figured out how to keep some fax programs on Word (I'm sure there's a cleverer way, I just don't know those things) and print them out with my fax when necessary. I'm very relieved to have the HP off my desk. And by the way, the machine is SMALLER than my HP officejet. I think this is a great bet for anyone with small to mid-range office needs. I appreciate all the previous reviews which led me here.

I bought this all-in-one printer on March 15th. I had spent quite a lot of time online searching for a really good printer (because of all the photos we both take and restore) that was truly compatible with Microsoft Vista. I had already discovered from our old printer (a HP 1700) that "compatible" only meant that SOME stuff worked. In our case, we couldn't adjust any colors. I went to a lot of different printer makers for info on various models but no one wanted to talk about Vista! Instead, the line was to go to Microsoft.When I found this Canon printer and went to Canon, I was pleasantly surprised. They actually had a section on Vista! They said that in order to use all of the features, I would have to download 4 small programs and install them after installing the disk. It turned out to be a snap and everything works....well, I still haven't tried the FAX, but that wasn't why I bought it in the first place.Last night, my husband was working in Microsoft Office and I needed to copy some stuff off. He was amazed that he could continue working while I copied (scanned & printed) my stuff, very quickly too.Since we got this, I have printed dozens and dozens of pictures, most being 8 x 10s. The quality is outstanding. For anyone looking for a really good printer that REALLY works with Vista, this is it!

Canon Pixma MP530 Office All-In-One Inkjet Photo PrinterI selected this printer for reasons of cheapness and quality. I've found it delivers both. A purchase in 10/2007 is a bit past the prime for this unit, hence the "cheapness" factor -- mine, not the printer. The unit combines four features, which I felt was helpful organizing my home office. The printing, copying and faxing features all perform as expected of a Canon product; I've yet to use the scanning feature. The printer is a bit larger and noisier than other units, but I expected these features, which falls into the "cheapness" factor -- again mine, not the printer.

I love this printer (all in one). Works wonderfully, and was super easy to install. Printing is crisp, clear, quiet and fast, even when duplexing, something I had to have since this unit is replacing my Pixima4000 that I have had for 4 years now, but needed a new print head, and it was just easier to upgrade than reorder.

I've had a problem with my MP530 and a malfunctioning ink cartridge. I e-mailed tech support, and they responded within two hours and are sending a replacement by 2 day UPS. While I am annoyed that my new printer was not working properly, I was overwhelmed that tech support worked so quickly.As for the printer, I have been very satisfied. I use it mainly for fast printing and scanning, both of which it does very well for my purposes. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I purchased two of these when they were on sale over the holidays. I have one in my office space at home. The scanner is incredible & nice quality as I've scanned both old photos & printed text with it. Has handy features with are user friendly to add to materials after they've been scanned. Anyway, is user friendly, though I haven't tried all of the features YET, BUT what I have tried so far has left me very satisfied.

I've owned 3 Canon portable printers over a span of about 17 years, a BJ-10e, a BJC-85, and now the iP90. I've always found the Canon printers to produce better quality prints and to be easier to haul about than the models from the competition. The iP90 doesn't disappoint in these 2 criteria. The iP90 does continue, however, the trend of ever-decreasing ink tank size. The BJ-10e had a monstrous black tank. The BJC-85 had an OK sized black only tank and a ridiculously tiny black tank paired with a small color tank (2 print heads that you swapped). The iP90 has the black/color combo setup but does not seem to have a black-only option. I swear that the ink tanks on the iP90 are smaller than on the BJC-85. I do not understand why we cannot have portable printers with really useful sized ink tanks ... that you can find. I live in a large city and I have found only one chain office supply store where I can get the Canon 15 (black) and 16 (color) tanks. Regardless, the iP90 is a nice printer -- but carry spare ink tanks.

This machine has been working pretty good so far. I've only had it about a month. It DOES use up large amounts of ink. I've already changed one of the cartridges twice in one month! Other than that, it's alittle slow, but it seems most Canon's are. It's very quiet, and the quality is good. I looked online at reviews and it seemed as if I had to pick between machines that used up large amounts of ink or ones that got poor ratings for quality. I chose to buy this one because I would rather repalce ink cartidges than the equipment itself. I still have not figured out some of the fax machine's options, but so far so good with the rest.

Hats off to Canon for creating a truly portable printing system. As a real estate agent, I was looking for an absolute "cordless" set-up at my open houses. No power cords, no printer cords, no network cords. The bluetooth adapter and battery pack are obviously required to make this happen. But I have been able to achieve this setup quite nicely with a Mac PowerBook and the iP90.So far, the iP90 has worked pretty well. Print speed over bluetooth is all over the map -- sometimes fast, other times slow. Print quality is decent, adequate for what I need. It certainly won't scare away any 6-tank photo printers, but it's passable.Software installs fine, but with previous Canon products some of their decisions mystify me. Let's just suffice it so say they should leave the printer s/w to the PC makers, and just focus on printer hardware.My only real concern is how well this printer will hold up under constant transportation. From other posts I have read, it doesn't take much to dislodge a part and render this printer useless. However, that hasn't happened...yet (knock on wood.)All in all, if you are looking for a true "cordless" set-up, this will definitely fill the bill. I hope this helps!

I could not be happier with my new Canon PIXMA MP530 all in one printer with fax. From the very start the directions are very simple to set up, and within minutes you are using your new printer. I have used it a lot to scan pictures from my Mothers family when she was young. (1920's) The qualiy of the scans has given me the opportunity to see the details of her face in a way I never could before. I have been able to share her pictures with my whole family online, which is really a blessing since we lost her just one year ago.It prints quickly and clearly, copies perfectly and the fax is a breeze. I bought it because the reviews all were so positive. Now I am thrilled I did.

After much research, I bought this printer about 6 weeks ago. I have a Canon Rebel XT camera and wanted a printer that would print great photos as well as scan 35mm slides and negatives. So far everything more than lives up to my expectations! I really like this printer and I've had a lot of experience with printers both at home and at work. I am an artist and planned to use the camera to take photos of possible subjects for paintings and print them as a reference. I also use it as a way of keeping a digital record of all my paintings. I use the printer to scan in small paintings directly, scan in old slides of my paintings, take photos of paintings in progress, and to scan in old color negatives to use as reference material. The only problem I had was figuring out how to scan in the slides and negatives and save them to my computer - the printer instructions only told you how to print them. However, I looked at the software that came with the printer and immediately was able to figure out how to scan them to the computer and save the images. Because of its versatility, the printer has quickly become an indispensable tool for me as an artist. But don't forget to buy the USB cable which you will need to hook up to your computer!

I've had my MP530 printer for a month now and it continues to amaze me with its high quality text and photo printing. Setup on Windows XP was a breeze. If you're looking for a decent all-around unit, this is it.

I bought this camera in 2004 and about a year and a half into the use I had the memory card error problem, did a lot of research and read somewhere it was a loose circuit connection common to this model. Since my warranty had expired then and Cannon at that time would not repair it for free, I decided that if it is a loose connection, maybe if I shake it violently the circuit will reconnect, and it did!! Everytime the error message comes up (and it does recur quite regularly), I just shake my camera really hard (by the strap), turn it off and on a couple of times, and the magic works. Tonight I took the internal battery out and will check back in a few months to see if it will permanently resolve the issue. Because of the picture quality and I don't really need more than 4 megapixel, I still enjoy this camera. It has travelled with me all over the world and been thrown around countless of time in my luggage, it still takes great pictures.

I really love the new Cannon Pixma MP530 I got. The speed and quality of printing are excellent. It has an amazing array of features. It enlarges, reduces, does 2 sided printing or copying in one step. You can easily control all parameters from the front panel. It is like going to Kinko's without having to go! It is also a great buy.

The photos are nice (that is the only reason I give it two stars), but it uses ink like its going out of style and the cartrdiges are very expensive. If you replace both ink cartridges it is less expensive to buy a new printer. That's exactly what I did. This product is not recommended (if you can afford the ink you should be able to afford a printer with more features).

our family has used this printer, fax, copier, & scanner several times over the last few weeks. it does a great job - especially for the price. the controls are easy to use & mostly self explanatory (i didn't have to read the instruction booklet first!).

I printed about 50 4x6 pictures and the cartridges ran low. The cost of new cartridges is just about the same price as buying a new printer. The iP6210D is not worth the money, a poor value.
