not worth the money!this printer is pure garbage.it only worked one time then it would not take paper.says paper jam but it never jammed.i say buy anything else.

Easy to install software in few minutes. Works great on wifi printing, good quality color pictures printing. Color ink cartridge ran out so fast, only about 120 4"x6" color pictures. Too expensive to print your own.

I got it yesterday. I got it setup on the network easily, there are many options to be able to do it. I tried the WCN option, which allowed me to export the Wifi settings from my Vista PC via a thumbdrive to the printer. That worked great.The only setup problem was that the printer kept failing setup. I happened to see a bit of a cryptic note in the driver dwownload screen that said sometimes the printer won't set up, so disconnect firewall and internet. So, after downloading new drivers, uninstalling the old ones, rebooting the PC, disconnecting from the internet, and reinstalling the new drivers, the printer finally passed setup. I don't understand why they are still shipping with CDs with drivers from before October 2009. But it's not much worse than anything else I have attempted to install to my Vista PC :)The AIO seems well constructed and solid. The bottom paper tray feels a little flimsy when you are loading paper, but feels solid once it is pushed home.All the functions of this printer seem to be great so far. The printhead alignment blew me away - print an alignment page, then scan it to get the alignment - no checking which sets of parallel lines are not broken. It says you only need to do alignments if you are going to print photos, but it is so easy, I would recommend doing it anyway. The scanner seems to work great so far. And, even though I don't plan on using this for photos very much, the first photo I printed on it looked phenomenal!So I am pleased so far. I don't yet know how often I will be buying ink. I also haven't yet set it up on my XP nor on my 2000 computers, but my Vista went well, so I don't anticipate a problem with them. Of course, the drivers may not support Win2000, but that one would be my fault for not getting rid of an obsolete computer.The best part was, once I had it set up and demoed to my wife, I told her it cost $94. She about flipped - she was expecting me to say it cost $200. So she is happy too!2/11/2010 - No problems with this printer so far. Haven't yet loaded drivers onto any other PCs, but what I have used from my Vista PC, I have scanned a bunch, and printed a lot. It's a little slow to start printing, but once it starts up it prints at a good speed.I also like the auto-opening front door, it has a nice look on our desktop closed up.

I bought this for occasional printing or scanning a few weeks ago. I've only printed a few sheets, but so far, its great! I haven't tried the scanner or copy function as yet. It is not an especially quick printer since it does printer cartridge priming and other gyrations. The installation was flawless and only took a few minutes. I'd recommend this printer to anyone who needs a low end casual printer.

**Update 8/2012** With the latest version of Canon IEPP and Printopia, this printer works flawlesslely with iPad3 and iPhone 4S for photos or documents. Now 5 stars.After some oddities of setup, I'm delighted to have a truly wireless printer added to my home network.Canon's printer is supposed to use a USB cable for setup to a home network, even though they repeatedly refer to it as a LAN cable in the instructions. I finally had to connect an Ethernet cable to complete installation of the software (which then installed annoying little bits in my dock and Apple menu). Once I'd cleaned up this mess, the printer replaced a larger HP all-in-one and Canon photo printer, freeing up a nice chunk of my desk.Canon has a great color engine, and gorgeous printing - very obvious in the prints I'm seeing here. Photos are great, though only available in 4 x 6. Though I thought the printer had card slots from Amazon's description page, it simply has a USB connection for a camera's cable on the front of the printer. The connection will also accommodate a Bluetooth point for an additional method of wireless printing.All in all, I'm very impressed with this modestly priced printer that's truly wireless, and replaces two printers crowding my desk.**Update**Due to some oddity in my network, I needed to reinstall the printer to my network. It was far easier to "send" the Wi-Fi printer to my Mac from the printer's setup screen, than have my Mac discover the printer. Piece of cake doing it this way! Simply enter my network password on the printer's WAN screen, and the printer sends the setup to the the wi-fi network, and the Mac and printer are all set up.I resolved the dedicated fax line issue by putting a small splitter at the phone jack and running one line to the phone, and one line to the fax. The manual covers fax setup in detail.

I rely heavily on the Amazon reviews. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the print results & photo's. I am 'fairly' technical and have done all the following troubleshooting and I just can't believe that the quality of this product is something that would be acceptable to Canon or the previous reviewers. I have: the correct photo paper, aligned print head, changed print quality to high on machine @ to 'vivid' in the software, processed a print nozzle check, performed a print head cleaning, confirmed the FINE cartridges are installed properly,tried to enhance/correct the photo's......and the photo quality....just sucks! :-((( If anyone has any ideas, suggestions - let me know. I am thinking there's Got to be something wrong......very disappointed.

Rarely is Amazon not the better price option, but Wal-Mart charges a flat $59 for this printer. For a commodity such as a printer, $16 and change is a notable difference. if you are interested in this printer and have a Wal-mart by you, it's worth a call in to see if it is in stock. I'm not a fan of Wal-Mart but even paying tax, it is enough of a price difference to warrant a drive there. I bought this a few days ago and it is sleek (all black), has wireless capabilities and meets my needs. The only thing I would have preferred is not to have a vertical rear paper tray but again, for the price and what I need it for it seems to have been a good option. I don't print photos much at home and I also don't need a LCD, so for basic printing and an occasional scan, I can't complain.Note: I was looking at the Canon PIXMA MP560 which seems to currently be the #1 inkjet printer on Amazon, but after seeing it in some local stores (I went in so I can see it in person), I found out that the MP560 is an older, discontinued model and all the local stores were trying to get rid of remaining inventory, up to and including floor models. Not that it isn't a good printer, but just know that it is discontinued. Also, the local stores were selling the MP560 for less than Amazon was - again to clear out the inventory of a discontinued model. The 495 is uniform black whereas the discontinued 560 has some gray and black, but the 560 does have a LCD screen which is an important feature to many people.

I have owned this very printer for some 6 or 7 years without any problems until now. An error message appeared " ink absorber almost full". I used the internal print head cleaner to clean it and subsequently got another error message, "ink absorber is full", then the printer no longer worked at all. I went on line looking for solutions for this problem. I did find some solutions from other Canon buyers but they were for other products, not for this printer model. The information posted by other users stated that these printers could be fully restored but when I went to Canon's site I found that there are no official service centers to repair their products, no service manuals tho tell you how to disassemble, remove and replace defective parts, and no place to purchase parts. At this point it dawned on me that each time the internal cleaner is used, it actually saturates the ink absorber pad which enacts a code that shuts the printer down where it no longer functions. The truth is that ALL Canon printers will eventually fail this way because they are designed to fail. Their printers are cryptically constructed so that they cannot easily be opened up. The reason for this is to prevent the owner from seeing what a simple problem it is to solve. [removing the code and changing/cleaning the absorber pad] Not having a repair manual and parts center make it virtually impossible to fix it yourself. The frustrated owner usually goes out and buys another printer and Canon makes more money. Canon, if you are listening and have any integrity, take that stupid code off ALL of your printers and make the absorber pad accessable and user changeable. Canon makes many very fine products and makes a lot of money as it is. There is no need to be so damned greedy.

Got this today. 2 days from order to my home. Now that's fast. It takes a while to load drivers on all computers but relatively painless.approx. 20 min each. I have 2 desktops hooked up to my router on the ethernet ports running windows XP. One laptop running Vista and one running Windows 7 connected wirelessly. Having never done this before it took a little longer than someone more familiar with networking, but I feel it was still easy enough to do with the accompanying manual.The test prints came out nice and crisp and clear. So far I am extremely happy as this is replacing older printers that were causing me to rip my hair out. I couldn't print from my laptops even if the old printers worked properly. Now all my computers can print to this beautiful machine. Definately happy.

This is an good inexpensive inkjet all-in-one printer that more than meets all my needs. I wanted a combination of scanner and printer that I can network with the computers at home, and this one was the answer. Set-up is easy and self explanatory.

So far, this printer works great. I set it up tonight and it was very easy. I've already printed out 5 photos and a dozen pages of text - all look great. The color on the photos is natural and crisp, much better than some of the other photo printers I've had. I don't know how long the ink that came with the printer will last so I've already purchased additional ink. Ink prices seem a little lower than other makes of printers I've had. I found high capacity ink cartridges for about $16 - $18. But I don't know how many pages I will be able to print from a "high capacity" cartridge compared to the regular ones.Pros: Great price Easy Set up Easy to switch from computer paper to 4 x 6 photo paper Good print qualityCons: It's a little large at 10" x 17 1/2" It is noisy and sometimes you think the rollers aren't going to catch the paper to feed it There is no pull out to catch the printed paper so it falls to the floor if it's too close to the edge of the desk.Even with the cons, I would purchase this again.Update March 2011. This printer is still working great. I dropped my laptop on it and broke off the plastic paper guide - and it is still working great. Last night I spilled a 1/2 glass of water on it, and it's still working. (I need to move this printer from the floor) I've changed the ink cartridge once. I can't believe that an inexpensive printer like this is continuing to work so well.

Simply put, this is a great machine if you need light printing duties. I like it so much I bought 2 of them, 1 to put in our lake house. The wireless set up is extremely easy and convenient. Cost of ink is expensive. But the ability to have a wireless printer, out of the way, that costs $50 shipped, is priceless.

The printer worked right out of the box. I can copy, scan and fax now as well. My only complaint so far is I wish the automatic document feeder held at least 50 pages instead it only holds 35. great for smaller jobs, but large scan/copy/fax jobs need to be split into batches.

This printer has a reasonably simple interface on your desktop. I showed my wife how to use it and she seems to have no problems. The pictures are of very good quality. Ink use is high, but that is par for the course with these printers.

I was pleasantly surprised when I set up my printer and discovered it had features I hadn't expected for the low price.( Scanner and fast print). It is easy to load ink cartridges,fast mode is fast and the copies are good quality. Scanner prints out good clear pictures. I am very pleased with my new machine.

I absolutely hate this printer.I do about 85% of my printing in B&W, yet this thing still finds a way to suck down Yellow, Magenta, and Cyan cartridges. SO take a long hard look at cost of operation of this printer... it maybe cheaper and easier to use a B&W laser printer.

I have a four of kids who print continuously for school, etc. My HP printer died follwing my refilling cartridges via huge bottle of ink. Bought this replacement Canon and it works great! A strong recommendation from me! It is a very basic printer and it doesn't take much space. Print quality is great and it is reasonably fast. I haven't tried printing high-quality photo like graphics. Mine is usually some assignment sheet for middle school. My recommendation is fully a five star printer except... I tried to refill the cartridge using the big bottle of ink and almost had a rerun o the HP printer disaster! It streaked and blotted etc. Frankly, I'm not blaming this on Canon or the printer, but IMHO, if I cannot refill these cartridges and avoid the exorbitant prices for ink/cartridges, then I've got a dead fish.I think the printer/ink vendors have figured out how to prevent consumers from refilling their own cartridges. I broke down and bought two "extra capacity" rebuild cartridges for $17. That'll last almost two weeks :) BTW, the cartridge that comes with the printer is diminuative. So, on the great price, just add up the price of ink!

This is a nice product if you take the time to set it up. I have mine network through ethernet. I have not tried the bluetooth or wireless yet. The program that comes with it is average. They try to make it easy but some beginners may have issues. I did not due to having a background in this type of product. Print quality is good. Paper tray does not hold a lot of paper so you may have to reload often for big print jobs. However it is a great printer for the home office with low volume printing. The scan to PC option is nice, although it could use some improvements. (As could most consumer product printers, however I am used to the business class printers (the kind that are 3k or above))All in all this is a good choice for the price. Paper tray size may be an issue to some.

Had to return this printer - as soon as it was connected to the network my laptop and the printer both randomly lost internet connection. Before the printer the laptop wireless connection was fine. Called Canon and they said it was the network. Called the internet service provider and they said it was Canon. No doubt there is a solution to this, but I don't have the time or inclination to research computer networking and determine a fix. Got another printer with WIRED connection to the router and all is fine.

I originally brought this product under the pretense that it will do a "push" scan to email. Unfortunately, this device needs to scan directly to a computer from which you can then email the document. Besides that the product prints fast and at an excellent quality.

I am so happy with my choice. I searched and searched online to see what kind of deal I could find but yet good quality. Canon always rocks. I love the fact that it's wireless, I can just sit in the other room as it prints :) The installation is easy if you follow the directions to the EXACT word. It was a breeze for me and once it was set up, I printed a photo to see how well it'd look and I was so thrilled! It does help A LOT having a printer at home since I'm in college -- I always would print at work or at a library -- the convenience is very nice. I'd highly recommend this printer to anyone!

I had a HP all in one printer that refused to stay connected to my home network. I finally decided to get a new one even though the HP wasn't that old. Got the Canon MX882 and installed it with no problem. Can print, fax, scan from the network and it stays connected always to everyone's laptop - things the HP couldn't do. I have a Canon photo printer, but this all in one does a great job with photos. Like the separate ink tanks too - the HP did not have this feature and I went through ink cartridges like crazy. Will stick with Canon printers in the future!

Cons:1. Sloppy lurching zoom, Wholly unacceptable at this price point!2. Battery Life is pathetic, Meter reads: 72 minutes. Actual:less than 30. Yikes!3. Touch interface is ridiculously complicated and overly sensitive and poorly calibrated!4. Focus knob does not actully manually focus anything. It's electronic, unreliable, and useless!5. Would not play nice with THREE different 16GB class[X] SDHC cards. Finally got a 4GB class[II] to work... Go figure.6. Very expensive for how awful it is.7. No HDMI cable?! "Come on Canon, this hunk of junk cost nearly $700; include a cable."8. LCD Screen is 100% useless outside in the sun!!!9 Getting things done on this camera takes too much time. What ever happened to Actual Manual Controls?Pros:1. Very handsome picture quality in "most" lighting conditions2. External Mic port is a nice touch

This is a nice color printer for photos and more. BUT, does not print with only black ink. I bought this for the better scanner, (It seems so so. Not impressed) and occasional photo prints in my small business, in addition to my office needs. This is my only color printer. For my office printing it used up all the color dye. I used it for a month on greyscale only, usually fastprint and used most of the color. They say if it sees graphics it thinks color. I have my business logo in B&W for many items I print and I design flyers to run off on a B&W copier also. I think it uses color even if there is no graphic. It's a huge waste for anything but photos and such. I might replace the cartridges sometime after I get done paying for my next printer. I'm not sure what the designers of this printer thought about us users. Didn't they think we could deside on our own when and how to use color. Isn't the black ink tank for the greyscale text printing, maybe with a logo. I don't need enriched greyscale for such. Anyhow, I wish I had chosen another printer. Now, I have to buy another. It will only be a little more money than all the ink/dye cartridges that are empty now. I gave it 3 for speed because of the slow warmup time.

Sensational printer with great tech support. Had previously owned HP, Epson, and Dell. This one beats them on all accounts. Color is clear and crisp. WiFi was a snap to setup and use. Scan and fax worked flawlessly. There are no cons about this product.

This is a good quality wifi printer that is easy to setup. Just follow the instructions carefully about connecting to router first and then using install disc to setup each computer on the network. the quality is good but the size of the machine is quite large.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing HD Picture and manual controls, May 2011,fromLeonel Bernhardt, Maldonado Uruguay.Cannon HF S200 -Beatiful Camera!. Crisp HD Quality . Awsome in daylight shoots. Definitely improved LOW light shoots from my older HF10. Powered IS does a great Job in reducing handycam shakes, and great TOUCH Screen-at last- from Cannon. The quality 8 MP Photo's were OK. Has lot of Manual Controls to play and experiment with.Summary:The good: video quality, seto of manual features, dual SDHC slots and well designed interface.The bad: There's no viewfinders, poor low light performance.

Have had this installed for around 3 weeks now. I don't run a business, so printing may be once or twice a day. I have not tested the fax capability as yet, but everything else works fine. Printed a picture on photo paper and the quality was excellent. I especially like the LED on each ink cartridge that lights when installed properly. This is a much more substantial printer than the MP160 it replaced for not much more money.

Received the printer 1 month ago and have used it almost every day since. An inexpensive ($60) machine that works just fine. Color is great, love the wireless capability. My only complaint is that the ink runs out too quickly. This will be the perfect second printer when I buy a primary printer for all of my papers.

I received my printer today, and had it fully configured on my wireless network within minutes. The push-button wireless setup was excellent, and worked with my Linksys router with no need to enter passwords or anything else. Immediately after I configured the printer, I was sending pictures from my phone to the printer, and by the time I walked into my office, they were waiting for me.I tested it on my Windows Vista desktop by printing a photo from a Kodak Photo CD I had developed recently. Side-by-side, the original hard copy from the photo lab and the printed 'copy' were identical.I also made a test scan of a magazine page, and it handled the glossy paper perfectly. The image, when zoomed in, was very good. I could see individual dots of ink on the printed page. I scanned at max resolution and the process was painless and fairly speedy given the resolution I requested.I've gone through a good number of printers in my life, although I've almost always made a generational leap with each new model. This was my first wireless printer, but I couldn't have asked for an easier configuration. Overall this is an excellent multi-function printer and scanner. I do wish it had BlueTooth included. That is apparently a $30 upgrade by means of a dongle. It installed just fine on my Mac, and the software included is actually pretty solid (only tested on my Windows desktop, not my Mac).The BlueBox discount made it a no-brainer, but even the 'normal' discounted price is well within the range I would pay for this printer. I'm actually kind of excited about a printer...

This was the best price that I could find for a wireless printer. I really like it! The printer came with a couple sheets of photo paper. I didn't like the quality of the picture that I tried to print out, but it may have been a bad quality pic (downloaded from facebook) so I can't be sure that it was the printer. It's fast, prints great documents and I love the wireless aspect. Sometimes my computer doesn't recognize the printer but I think it was a network issue more than it was the printer.

I really wanted a wireless printer so I could get it off of my desk and also allow my husband to print from his laptop. While the print quality is good, the number of 'hiccups' it has when trying to print through the wireless connection is a complete hassle -- I peg this at 40% of the time. I need to turn the printer on and off before I get connectivity and can print my document. Forget about trying to print anything in a hurry... you will usually get a message saying that a 'communication error has occurred.' I will be tossing this one out the window soon and going for a printer that plugs right in.

For the past month or so I have been shopping for a printer. I rely heavily on reviews and this one seemed to have the best in my price range. I was a little hesitant to buy because I am not computer savvy and was a bit worried about the difficulty of wireless setup. Most of the reviews I read were from people who are Mac users. I have Windows XP and the setup could not have been easier! I have my router in one room and the printer on a table the next room over (with a wall between) and there is a good strong wifi connection between the two. The menu on the LCD screen is also very user friendly. I was worried that I would have to sit down with the instruction manual for hours before I would be able to figure out how to print anything. Within minutes I printed a couple photos from my computer, one from the memory card in my phone, and one from my camera. The prints look great! I could not be happier with this printer. The setup was easy and the print quality is exceptional!Update: 12/17/2010After using this printer for a few months I am happy to say that it is exceptional! I apparently have nothing better to do so I have been keeping track of what I have printed. So far I have printed 59 4x6 photos on the photo paper glossy plus all on High Quality, and 56 sheets of regular text on standard printer paper. I have not yet changed my ink. The meter just now tells me that my ink is running low...and it is just the magenta. Great ink usage, wonderful photo quality, easy set up...I love this printer!

FIRST: This item is NOT "all-in-one" - it does NOT have a FAX. After purchasing & this printer, and discovering that it didn't have a fax, I went back to the info on the AMAZON website, & could find absolutely no information on it that would alert a buyer to the fact that this "all-in-one" machine didn't have Fax capability. There also was no information on the box that the printer came in that listed the "all-in-one" capabilities of the machine, so it wasn't until I opened it that I found that it did not include a fax. I immediately returned it to the box - without plugging it in or using it in any way, and contacted the seller - Ace Photo Digital.SECOND: When I explained the situation to them (via email), they decided that they would accept the return, but I would have to pay the shipping charges, and a hefty restocking fee. On 5/5/10 I called Ace Photo Digital & spoke to Nikki - she agreed that, if I paid the shipping charges, Ace Photo Digital would not charge me a restocking fee.THIRD: I returned the machine to Ace Photo Digital as I had promised, but Ace renigged on their promise and went ahead & charged me the restocking fee.LAST: Since the merchandise wasn't as advertised (All-in-One), I feel that I shouldn't have had to pay either the shipping fees or the restocking fee, but Ace Photo Digital went ahead and charged me these fees, even after promising not to. Unfortunately, I found out about this just before leaving on an extended cross-country trip, so was not able to "Rate the Seller", so I'm rating the product & warning prospective buyers about the unethical advertising and selling practices of this vendor: ACE PHOTO DIGITAL

Ужасно

This machine completely shuts down if you don't install Canon ink in it or if you run out of ink!!! No scanning, no black and white printing or copying if you run out of any ink... even if you don't need that ink to do your job. Total scam by Canon.
