I have not used the fax function, but the only problem is the printer cartridges seem to run out pretty quick, which cost a good amount of $$ to replace. The scan function is great and its simple to setup and use.

I`ve had this printer for a few months now. It`s a great printer, but there are both pros (many) and some cons (a few).Pros: very easy wireless setup, easier than the HP printer that I also have. Scanning has been excellent and the files sent to my laptop wireless no problem. Really good quality printing and scanning. My experience is that Canon printers and small digital cameras have the best print/photo quality. Of course, remarkable cost/benefit ratio, and the design is beautiful.Cons: printer is much noisier than my HP and has a bigger footprint. I print docs that don`t need high quality and the printer doesn`t allow for extra-low quality printing to save on ink. Hmmm . . . Having printed almost everything in "fast" mode, the black ink cartridge is already at below half with very moderate use. So, Canon is certainly counting on cartridge sales to justify this (absurdly) low printer price, so if you do a lot of printing, this is something to consider. Finally, I did have to actually fax something the other day and, despite inserting pauses after the phone number to add several codes that were required, could not get the fax to go through; however, this may have been an unusual case.Conclusion: I`m happy I bought this model and I believe it will be one of the most reliable on the market. The wireless really works well. The shortcomings are only critical if you`re planning on heavy use.

This is a nice printer. It does beautiful pics. It works great for about a year of light duty then things start to go wrong. Usually it can be fixed or it's ink related and a thorough cleaning will help but after a while you are spending too much time on maintenance, way too much. so you throw it away and get a new one... Is that what they intended?

I love this printer. Great price, does go through ink pretty quickly when printing high volumes like holiday cards. Otherwise, you can make the cartridges last a couple of months with normal (3-5 prints a week) printing volume. The quality of the prints is really impressive, IMO.

I purchased this printer because I am an architect student and I print loads of 11x17 building prints, I wanted a better option than office depot or the print lab. My eye was initially drawn to this printer due to the price ($100) but upon further research decided it was exactly what I needed. Once I got it set up I was not disappointed, the b/w prints are lightning fast and high quality color prints on photo paper are amazing. It's not an all-in-one and there are no bells and whistles like a mini screen but a work printer doesn't need all that, it serves it's function very well.

Великолепно

Bought this as a replacement for an elderly hp all-in-one and so far it has been fantastic. Print speed and quality are both excellent and the printer is easy to use. The only minor niggle was set up, I had to download the driver software from the canon website as the disc wasn't compatible with the co installation on my pc.

Overall I'm very satisfied with the printer.

Needed a reliable and inexpensive printer for use in my shop area to replace a dead European IP2700. This one filled the bill exactly and worked without the need for a new driver install on my old embedded XP machine. Great price for the printer; reasonably priced ink available through Amazon.

First----- no USB cable included. I guess they think that everyone will go wirelessSecond-----I'm used to having manuals printed in another language (usually Spanish) But---- this manual has the second language on the same page not in the back of the manual. Sure, it's not the end of the world----- but it's very confusing visually.Third---- and larger than a nit-pick----so far we've been unable to get the darn thing to recognize a driver or printer or anything! We're not exactly tech illiterate----having installed many many devices in past years and we CAN read/follow directions. But this one is eluding us. Now I'll have call tech support and hope that this printer doesn't non-perform like so many have said! I had an old Pixma 150 (Yikes!) that is still working perfectly and just has few little temperamental fits every now and then. I always swore by Canon Pixma but...... this thing is evil. I hope we can get everything working or back it goes if it even THINKS about being hinky!Keep your fingers crossed for us and maybe you'll see us at the 4 star group----- but my nit-picks still stand!Editing review--Dec 15. Finally got the printer to work! Have to admit that it was operator error---- but also have to say that I'm still nit-picking about the format of the manual. I've seen MUCH better ones. Didn't have to call tech support. Whew!Now---- to see if it works fine. So far (very minimal use) it seems to work. Then I can report with 4 or 5 stars, hopefully.EDIT---- I have to raise the star rating up to 3 or 4. I haven't tried wireless yet but so far things are working pretty good.

I have two of these printers that I bought for printing photo's that I edit with Photoshop. All of the photo's that I have printed have vertical black lines every 4-9 mm across the prints. I have contacted Canon Customer Support, sent them copies of my prints, all to no avail, and I do not believe they are not aware of the problem.Canon PIXMA iP7250 Colour Inkjet Printer

The camera appears to be brand new. I used it right away to see if the pictures would be good. Some of the pictures were good. Some of the pictures gave a a white wall background and the picture a blue tint. I am still trying to figure out why this happened.

It may not have all the bells and whistles of its $1000 cousin, but it does an outstanding job for photos, publications, and general printing. I obtained this to replaced my old and sadly deceased S9000 and found this to be not just a worthy replacement, but even better in many ways.

I purchased this printer back in 2003 and never left feedback forit. Now I notice the omission, and must say I love this printer. Itisn't used for business, so isn't overworked by any means, butit just doesn't quit. As long as I keep it in ink, it keeps going. Howgreat is that? (been working for me for c. 9 years WOW)

I was a bit apprehensive installing this Canon printer after having wasted 7 hours trying to get an Epson printer to print wirelessly. I never got it to work. After installing the printer head, which was a bit cumbersome but not that difficult using a flashlight, so I could see the inside of the printer better, and the ink tanks,the printer had to run some test page, which was supplied. These steps were surprisingly long. 5 minutes for the printer head, 4 minutes for the ink tanks and another 4-5 minutes for the test page. For each step, the machine had to run through some kind of test process. After that I finally put the CD in my laptop Windows XP, and hit easy install. This took about 15 minutes, hooking it up to a USB cable (NOT supplied!, why so cheap Canon?). After that I set up the wireless connection on the printer. It immediately showed my network and I entered my password. I had plenty of experience doing this with the Epson, so this went fast, then the magic moment, connect! yes it worked.The I used the same CD to install everything on my Mac book Pro and was able to print wirelessly from my mac. I did the same thing on another laptop with Windows 7 and it worked flawlessly also. All in all it took me about an hour to set everything up on three laptops. I also plugged in the separate phone line for the fax, which seems to work fine.I have not yet tested the photo print quality, but my most common use is for printing documents, articles, etc. I also tried the scan function and the copy functions, no problems there. The display is on top of the machine at an angle and is easy to read. My previous printer also a Canon had the display in a flap on the side, but became useless after about 14 months. It was still working but the screen was just bright and showed nothing. It seemed that some connection had gotten loose because you move that flap all the time. Hopefully that will not happen with this printer.So far, I am happy with my purchase.

I donated this to a community business because it was too much for me. I am sure it's a fantastic machine, but was more than my little office needed.So whereas it didn't work for my little one-gal operation, the larger offices that have it now love it!!! Seems to do all the jobs they need and they said it was quite user friendly.

PROS:I bought it at bestbuy at a special for $40wireless wifi printingfax, copier, printer in one.CONS:If you're rich, buy this printer cuz you are going to be buyingNEW INK every 2 weeks! and I wasn't even printing that much.I stopped printing using this printer. I went back to my old HP printer from 2003. That Hp printer, I only had to buy ink 2 times a year.

Good price for the number of features. Has only one color and one black ink cartridge, so ink costs are likely higher than machines that have separate (e.g., 6) ink color cartridges, so that individual colors can be replaced, thus avoiding the owner's being forced to dispose of an entire single color cartridge. I have had just a few paper feed hangup when printing.

After 13 months of light printing (average 10 pages per week) this piece of junk gave me a permanent error and would not function, not even as a scanner. The wifi never worked to begin with. The user interface was designed by an idiot. On a positive note, ink for this printer is very expensive, so you will have plenty of opportunity to spend your hard earned money on ink.

I like this printer it does a wonderful job the only thing I get a little irritated by is that when I try to turn it off by the off button it just says shutting down and never does so I always have to unplug it. But it prints wonderful and it is speedy and the wireless feature works great

I've had this printer for more than a year now and I cannot be more frustrated with the printing costs. As other reviews have mentioned, you cannot print once a catridge is completely exhausted. That wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that the printer drains color ink even when you exclusively print grayscale! I use it primarily for home use, but I print quite a bit (about 150 pages per week). I only print grayscale, but I'm constantly replacing color catridges. Yes. The printer has a catridge specifically for printer B&W text, but for some crazy reason it still draws from the color wells. Canon customer support said this was a normal function of the printer. Normal? I might as well flush ink down the toilet. This makes about as much sense as stuffing $20 bills into a paper shredder. It's ridiculous.Although I reluctantly give this printer any sort of praise, its photo functions are nice. The rear tray makes it handy to print on things other than your standard 8.5"x11" paper (ie, photos, envelopes, legal). The WiFi was simple to setup.Nevertheless, the way this machine wastes ink is a slap in the face to consumers. I understand companies use their printers as loss-leaders, making their money on ink sales. It's pretty unethical to design your product, however, so that it quite literally uses ink unnecessarily.

What more can you ask for ? A great price and wireless. Make sure you do not loose the disc you will never be able to get it to work w/ your modem if you do. I misplaced it got a new modem and could not set up the network. Luckily I found it.

Great printer..I am in the video business and need to print my DVD covers perfect. The color is true and clear. Uses ink fast but it's better than having my covers made up for me somewhere else. I find it is cheaper for me. Canon Pixma iX6520 Inkjet Printer (4895B002) It a bit noisy and takes time to shut off, but other than that a great printer. Would recommend this model to anyone. I am satisfied with this product.

This is a problem with ink jets in general, but I've never printed a photo or anything with color and I'm out of ink of every color. When I bought it I figured that I wasn't going to print much so even though I knew ahead of time that ink jets drink ink, I figured it would be fine. Was I wrong. Everytime you turn it on, regardless of if it's to print or something else, the heads clean themselves which wastes a lot of ink. So here I am a few months after owning it with warnings that I have no more cyan, magenta and yellow ink which I've never used.Other than that, it does a great job at scanning, faxing and printing.I'm going to refill the cartridges and sell it.

First, would give this more stars but we have not owned it long enough yet to truly test it.We had a Canon MX 870 and while it did a fine job, its service life was pretty short. Lasted just about three years. At this time, the printer head went bad, so said their tech. Bought a new print head to only find out we wasted money. Not sure what was bad, head or printer. Figured by this time, with the money being spent, we will just go with the a new printer. Print heads are not cheap! Looking around, we found this newer model of Canon printer. It cost less then the older 870, comparing cost on Amazon. Figure that one out. Since we had just bought a lot of ink for the 870, this looked like the way to go as it appeared to take the same ink tank. In the pictures it does. In real life, it does not take the same ink tanks as the 870. They look the same for sure, but they will not work. Figures. Always some way to milk you out of more money.Right now, this printer is doing a fine job for what we paid. Printing speed could be faster. Pictures come out looking good. So far, it seems it might sip the ink a bit less then the 870 did. All in all, it functions much like our old 870. The buttons are much easier to see as they have back lighting. The 870 did not. So this feature is a plus. Being able to print on both sides of the paper is always good. The automatic document feed is really handy when doing large jobs. Canon does put a lot of useful tools in this printer for the cost.The set up was done with ease and had no problems at all. The instructions walk you right through it. For security reasons, we prefer to use "wired" printing with our home network. Can not speak on any level about the wireless side of this unit.If this one dies in a short length of time like our last one, we then will look at other makes. Printers should last longer then the 870 did.

Very lightly used over the last year and a half - and it's dead. I purchased the printer in August of 2011 and it's now January 2013 and the printer will not turn on - COMPLETELY DEAD. Will not purchase a Canon again.

Camera has worked great since we bought it. Picture and sound are solid. Only complaint is I should have done more research. I bought this thinking I would be able to take the SD card out and put it in a computer/MAC to work with the video files. Not the case, requires the USB cable, and still not working well for me. It is nice/flexible to have SD cards to add new memory, but might as well be tapes/internal SSD/etc. vs. SD.

Just got my new Pixma and it was cake to set up and get things running. I am running Windows 7 and just followed the instructions with no issues. I have printed two images so far, both 13x19 matte paper. The quality is remarkable, mind you, the photographs/ images are high resolution. There is no bleeding of the ink and all of the ink levels have not changed. These were color-intense photos, I am curious to see how long the ink will last, but so far, very impressed. Finally a printer capable of handling the larger print jobs that don't warrant a trip to the print shop and print cheap, stunning photos and pictures to frame and display as artwork. Great item at a great price. Highly recommend.*Remember to purchase a separate USB/ printer cable* (NOT INCLUDED)

Haven't used it other than cd printing which it does very well. Finding it a little difficult to change style and size etc of printing but this may be because I am still finding out about it. It prints on cd's and dvd's to a good standard.

After reading several reviews of this product on amazon and various other places, it seemed most everyone said that the software sucks and the initial setup is no different. I figured since I am a capable young individual who probably has higher than average computer savvy that I would probably get through the setup process in no time without any problems. I was wrong! The reviews you read are correct; this printer is really a pain to setup. I have yet to get it to function. It seems to me that there are several different setup "instructions" that canon tells you to follow, all of which are different from one another. The online one differs from the hard copy you received in the box, that one differs from the way the tech support people tell you how to setup, that differs from another one you see in the same hard copy instruction manual and so on. I thought I would easily set this printer up, I thought many people who reviewed this product were likely just computer illiterate, turns out they probably encountered the same legitimate installation problems as I did.PROS:Evidence that the printer has wireless capabilities(still untested by me due to extremely faulty instruction manual)Sleek looksAlso a scanner and copy machineCONS:Doesn't work properlyVery difficult to setupMultiple different sets of instructions causes confusion during initial setupSoftware is clunky/unnecessaryOVERALL:I believe this will likely turn into a nice printer once I can stumble through the ridiculous setup process. Until then I will likely second guess my purchase. If you plan on not using the wireless function then it will probably be a good printer for you. If you have a resident tech guru/plan to hire one to set this up, it will probably be a good printer for you. If you want "plug and play" type operation(like ALL printers should have), stay away from this printer. In my opinion, Canon has failed at making this a good printer.Note: I'll try and do an updated review of this product after I get it to print finally(if that ever happens).EDIT: After initial setup attempt/once it finally workedI finally got this hunk of junk to work. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRINTER! It stops printing in the middle of a document, it pauses for as much as 30 seconds and then resumes again. WHAT!? WHY!? Sometimes it takes as long as a minute to send the document for printing to the printer. AKA, I click "print" and one minute later the printer FINALLY decides to start printing. I'm a college student, what if I'm late for class and I need to print? I can't waste my time waiting for a sub-standard printer to print. DO YOUR JOB: PRINT!If I could leave another review, I would leave one star(and that's only because no stars isn't an option).

The MX882 is a nice package. Fit and style are generally good, except for the paper tray under the printer which really has a loose fit. My big concern with this printer is the inherent tendency to produce 'Internal Printer Error' messages which advise you to turn the printer off and back on to recover. And of course when you do that, the printer has to go back through the print-head cleaning process so having to turn the printer off and on means going for coffee and then coming back to finish what you meant to do in only a couple of minutes. These seem to happen quite a bit when printing to the device and not so much when using the internal functions of the device such as making a copy of a copy on the scanner. I believe, although I haven't proven it, that the problem is fundamentally with the Mac OSX print driver from Canon.Another item that really is troubling is that the sheet tray sensor sometimes throws an error that there is no printer in the tray when there is. I take the tray out, align the paper, snug it up or shift it or loosen the sheet stack. Try to find a position that the printer likes. Still the same error. And guess what fixes it. Shut the printer off and back on. Hmmm.Behavior when interfacing to the printer via wireless is also not very reliable. But again, I feel confident that this problem is more associated with the Mac drivers than the printer as my Windows 7 work laptop connected to the printer without error.I am borderline thinking I should return the printer and seek another option until Canon gets the drivers worked out. The Mac support for this printer (software and driver) just aren't that great.I don't want to totally scare people off the printer. I bet it works much better on a Windows 7 PC. But I simply won't go back to Microsoft products at home after switching everything to Mac and no longer having computer problems (aside from this experience with one printer).
