Bruce Morris review above is exactly right about the shortcomings of duplex printing on the MX882. If you turn on duplexing (even manual duplexing) you can't get high quality color printing--it always turns out lighter no matter how high you set the quality. If you set the paper type to something like photo paper the duplexing option is not available. Since I wanted to print some nice quality greeting cards (front and back fold-over) on photo type paper I had to turn off duplexing even tho I wanted to duplex manually. Then if you set copies to something like 5 it prints 5 front sides followed by 5 back sides--on separate sheets. So you then have to try to re-feed the sheets to get the correct print on the other side. My old Canon MP830 was not this poorly designed. Also the old MP830 had larger ink tanks (13 ml vs. 9 ml for the MX882), so ink seems to constantly run out on this printer and even tho the tanks are smaller on the MX882 a round of OEM ink on the MX882 costs as much as it did on the MP830. As seems to be usual with Canon printers it takes a while for something to actually start printing when you send it to the printer. I could tolerate this if it weren't for the other disappointments with this printer. My old Canon MP830 was a very good printer that lasted several years so I didn't think about buying any other brand when I needed a new printer, but next time I guess I will have to look at HP or Epson again. With the cost of ink being what it is, I think it would probably pay if I bought a new printer that's more economical on ink.

Canon PIXMA MP560 Wireless Inkjet All-In-One Photo Printer (3747B002)I needed a basic printer to replace an outdated HP that suddenly developed a "carriage jam." After a little shopping, I also realized that even IF the HP was still working, the price of a new set of ink cartridges for the HP was more than this entire new Canon printer, with ink included. Kinda a no-brainer.I don't print much, but I have been pleased with the Canon. I have had it for almost a year, and am just now running low on the black ink that came with it originally. (The ink has separate cartridges for black, yellow, blue, and red, so that's nice if you use more of one color than the others. No waste replacing one that's still mostly full.) Print quality for photos, scanning, and regular printing seems very good to me -- no lines or blurring or anything like that. Copy and Scan features are easy to do. Because of the layout of my computer desk, I wanted a printer that you feed the paper in from the front (like this one does) and one that is small and doesn't take up much desk space. This fits the bill. The printed product also comes out the front, too -- after you've originally hooked it up, you don't need access to the back of the printer at all (which is crucial if you have a computer desk like mine.) Apparently you can use it wireless but I can't speak to that as I have it wired and it's fine.Two minor negatives: it takes a VERY long time to warm-up when you first start to print. We're not talking seconds here -- I'm talking like a full minute. It clicks and hums and makes noise, then finally starts to print. The noise is not all that loud, really, but it's more noisy than my old HP. The second minor negative is that the front panel "door" has to open up each time for the printed product to come out the front. I guess you could just leave it open, but it looks like that would let dust into the "inner workings" and so I close it back every time after I finish a print session. As I say, it's minor, but it IS one extra step that I didn't have to do with my other printer.The old HP I had also allowed you to keep 8.5 x 11 paper in the paper tray along with photo paper as well -- both at the same time. This Canon does not do that -- you can use either size in the paper tray anytime by adjusting the slides, but only one at a time. No biggie.All in all I recommend this product if you're looking for a compact, front-loading, basic color printer/scanner.

We have owned this for about two years and it has been a dream. I love that all the ink colors are separately replaceable to reduce waste. Scanning a document or photo is easy -- I just open the built in Image Capture app on my Mac, put the document in, and click Scan -- all using our wireless network (no USB required). The printer is in a separate room and we just print to it over our wireless network -- never any problems. Printing is high quality and it doesn't seem to use too much ink. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

This printer is horrible!! The printer head clogs every week and then you need to use a large amnt of ink to try and unclog it. I have been dealing with this for the past few months but its to late to return the product. Will never buy another Canon printer!

This printer is small and cheap. It takes up almost no space, as no flanges or spare parts to break. It has two buttons, one of which is power. It has two ink cartridges. No screwing around. Black and white pages are mostly fine, but occasionally skewed a bit (probably fixable by doing one of those re-alignment routines). The color is usable. It's good enough for reference photos, maps, that kind of thing. I'd never use it to print anything of aesthetic value. Also, the way the printer aligns paper makes printing odd sizes or envelopes really easy. I didn't expect it, but I like it!Cons:*It's loud, and the noises it makes sound really... pained.*Text and images sometimes have printing artifacts. Nothing too awful, but again... not suitable for aesthetic printings.*Toner is dumb expensive. They make refill kits for this brand which work really well, though, so no worries. Just, don't by new cartridges. I promise, the refill process is easy. Despite the cons listed below, it wins MAJOR POINTS because it never flatly REFUSES to print, nor does it print nonsense pages. There's nothing more infuriating to me when I'm under time pressure and my printer just says NO. It never does that. Also, I've had 1 paper jam, and it was because the paper was creased. The jam was easy to clear.Upshot:As long as you don't buy canon cartridges, this printer is well worth the small amount they ask for it. I got it for $35. I'd buy it again at $45, but not higher.

I am really disappointed with Cannon Printer MG4100. I have had this product for 4 months. The continuous problems I have been having are: the printer goes offline and my scan is not working. So guys - do not purchase this model!!!!!! It's a heartache!!!!

I bought this to print my tabloid-size music scores. It works nicely, and I haven't had any problems with it. I wish they made wide-format laser printers for this cheap! I'm still adjusting to the amount of ink this thing consumes. Other than that ubiquitous complaint against ink printers, this one works great. The ink is extremely easy to install, and I am very impressed by this system.

I'm very happy with this printer overall. Excellent value for an all in one printer with a fax. My only minor issue occurred installation. The printer installed flawlessly on my personal Apple Macbook however I was not able to install wirelessly on to my work windows laptop. The installation went through ok but for some reason would not allow me to print. I had to uninstall and reinstall choosing the USB option. I never did find out what the issue was with the wireless setup but the printer works find via USB.As for the printer itself, the quality is very good. I especially like the fact that it only uses two cartridges. One black and one color. Some may prefer to have individual color cartridges but in my experience, the printer was basically useless when any of the color cartridges ran empty.If not for the minor installation issue, I would have given 5 stars. I don't do any photo printing so I can't comment on that feature but I am very satisfied with every other function.

I had to replace an old HP C4280 that died, which replaced another HP, which replaced an Epson, which replaced a Lexmark. This is my first Canon and I'm hoping it will last longer than the others. Set up was easy if you follow the guide. I had the wireless connectivity working pretty quickly. Note that you cannot run wired and wireless mode simultaneously. And, if you ever need to use the included diagnostic software, it requires wired connectivity - a pain if you've set up the printer far away from the computer. While it's not a high end photo printer, I was very happy with the quality of my test print. In fact, the colors were better and more accurate than my print from the Ritz Camera store. The scanner was rock solid and did a much better job than my HP. It's not an apples-to-apples comparison given this Canon model is a significant upgrade; would be fairer to compare it to a higher end current HP model. I also tried printing a photo with my leftover HP Premium Plus paper. The sharpness was fine, but the colors were a bit dull, though certainly acceptable for snapshots. I'm sure with some tweaking, I can figure out how to make it look as good as the Canon paper. The printer loses 1 star because the software is very cumbersome to use. I don't know why Japanese companies are so challenged to create user friendly software. I have similar issues with my Nikon camera software and my Japanese car. In any case, I recommend this printer.

What kind of message is that!? The interface is poor.I hate this printer. I've only ever gotten it to work with Windows Vista when connected via USB. It works wirelessly 75% of the time from my Macs, though quite often I have to power cycle it to get it to be recognized. I felt that I was mislead that an App is required for iPhone printing. It prints ok, though I'm not impressed with the picture quality - with new cartridges and good photo paper the colors are not even across the entire image - not what I would expect from Canon.It's very noisy and a bit slow. One time I woke up while it was printing and from one floor up I thought someone was breaking into our house.

The HFS200, HFS20, and HFS21 are the best options for the low budget indie filmmaker. That is until the next batch of Canon camcorders are released soon.Here is why the HFS200 is an ideal choice:(1) Frame rate options. You get true 23.98. This alone is worth it, since not many camcorders at this time have that frame rate. Then you get 60i, PF30 and PF24 which are both technically 60i. But sometimes it's useful to have PF24 if you want the 24p film look, but are also combining regular 60i footage into your editing timeline. By shooting PF24, you won't have to deal with longer render times if you're using Final Cut Pro 7 or under.(2) Decent in low light. The gain options are pretty good and when noise is introduced, it looks more like film grain. Also, the 1/2.6" CMOS sensor gives you awesome shallow depth of field for a compact consumer camera.(3) Manual controls. This one is a trade off. You get all the manual control options you need, but they are buried in the touch screen menus and you have to reset them every time something changes in your camera. This is time consuming and frustrating, but you get your control over exposure, shutter speed, white balance, etc.(4) Mic input. I'm always surprised that a lot of camcorders do not have mic inputs. Why? I sometimes use a preamp or a mixer attached to the HFS200 and then run my mics through that. It gets the cleanest audio. You always want to turn the camcorder's mic gain as low as you can, while keeping the audio signal around -12 dBs.(5) LCD. The HFS21 is the only model with an electronic viewfinder, but who needs that when you got an enormous 3.5" LCD screen! This thing will blow you away. It's gorgeous and Canon has been one of the few manufacturers that sport a giant LCD touch panel. This really makes a difference when focusing and framing for shots.Here is where the HFS200 needs improvement on:(1) Wider angle lens. I hate using wide angle lens adapters. I think it's about time camcorders come stock with a 24mm or 30mm wide angle. Well, 24mm is a bit much, but 28mm would be nice, too.(2) Better manual control interface. Actual buttons instead of menus options please. If anything, just give me separate Aperture, Shutter Speed, and Exposure lock control on physical buttons.(3) The little dial is cool, but a full focus ring would be better. (looking forward to the HFG10 and XA10)(4) An even bigger sensor would be heaven.

It printed fine for four months and then stopped this morning. It goes through the motions, makes all the noise, but a blank piece of paper comes out. Nowhere can I find any support. This problem is not listed in the online manual. I replaced the ink cartridges today, after it started printing blank sheets of paper, yet it says the ink is running low. As a consumer,I had faith that the user manual would cover problems encountered by the printer. It won't let me publish this without picking a rating. It doesn't deserve one fragment of a star.

Like many others I found setting up the wifi connection a huge problem. The instructions are rubbish, the Canon website help pages are rubbish and connecting to a wifi signal is rubbish.I have used Canon printers in the past but this has been a lesson in "review reading".It's a cheap bargain purchase with lots of promise but rubbish wifi usability. It can connect well as others have testified, but it can also be a nightmare, and like many others I have given up the wifi and use it (occasionally) as a USB cable connected printer. Take your chance because it seems to be a case of hit or miss with the wifi connection.As a printer and scanner it does an ok job with a USB cable. Unfortunately the only wireless aspect I have at the moment is the plug lying on the floor because I have disconnected it from the electric supply!Get a grip Canon, wifi printing is not a fad it's pretty normal and you should be better at it than this pathetic effort.

Every single time I want to print it gives me errors. I have to wake the printer up and try again and if that doesn't work I have to uninstall the thing and re install it. It doesn't read well connected to USB either. If you even print coupons once in a while this is not the printer for you. I will be switching manufacturers after this horrible experience also.

I've been using my iX6520 for about a month now. The printer is gorgeous (I know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder) and seems very well made (heavy-duty plastic used throughout compared to the iP3000s of which I've owned a number). The printer is fast, paper handling seems great, and the quality for text, graphics, and photos it excellent.Now for my complaint: My feeling is that for an over-sized printer to be equipped with under-sized ink cartridges is unconscionable. I know Canon has to make their money somewhere, but the discrepancy in this printer borders on the ludicrous. HP, in some of their heavier-duty desktop inkjets, has high-capacity, remotely located ink tanks feeding ink to the print heads via tubing and that is exactly what a printer of this size should employ. There are third party continuous inking systems available for the iX6520, but I would not destroy its beautiful case trying to install one of these. I've opted for the cartridge refilling route instead and it's working well. I really wish Canon (and all inkjet manufacturers) would do the right thing and make their built-in inking systems economical and appropriate to the task at hand.

I see many positive reviews here. I was dissapointed from the beginning - I should have taken it back. Just to print a page the crazy thing seems to go through 6 or so steps, all of them loud. The colors are not good. Many people are having issues with to much or not enough paper in the feed tray. Yes, it's that touchy. Forget the wireless. Finally, mine, like others, started pulling paper crooked and displaying strange codes. Yes, I went through all the 'fixes,' but with no fix. If you buy this, you'll buy another one in a year. Nice try, Canon, you got my money.. but not the next time.

We have owned many different printers over the years and as with others, have been searching for the holy grail of multifunction printers for some time. This one is very close. I would buy it again.The good: reasonable ink consumption, never a paper jam during printing, double sided print, photos look great, wireless works great, not too much clanking like some printers, accepts knock off cartridges of ink (complete set of cartridges from Amazon for $5-9 depending upon sale price, including shipping - Sophia Global Compatible Ink Cartridge Replacement for Canon PGI-225 CLI-226, 2 Large Black, 2 Small Black, 2 Cyan, 2 Magenta, 2 Yellow).The could be better: this thing is big so make a space, multi-sheet feeder on top (for copies and scans) has fed more than one sheet on occasion.We have owned $300 HP printers and others and this MX882 meets or beats them all.

This printer was great for general at home use - printing docs, scanning or copying when needed. The picture printing was never very good quality, but good enough to put up on the fridge (not frame-worthy definitely).BUT I'm really disappointed that after 18 months, it just won't turn on anymore. Since it's out of warranty, Canon won't fix or replace it unless I pay for the repair. And given that I didn't pay very much for it in the first place, I'm guessing it's not worth fixing.Oh and it rips through a ton of ink. I probably paid twice for ink what I paid for it.

I waded through all the reviews and comparisons I could find. After researching for a couple weeks, I swear this has to be the best printer for your money. I initially wanted an Epson! I got my Canon MX882 at Staples for 149 and its 119 on Amazon as of today. If you were considering an all-in-one printer, this is the best value for the money and you need to stop reading and buy this printer right now!BUILD QUALITY:The MX882 has a great finish but it would be better if it were all matte and not shiny. It has quite a large footprint and weight but packs so many features you'll be glad that it's built tough and that it's as pretty as it is functional. From all the reviews I've read, Canon's customer support is one of the best in the entire electronics industry.FEATURES:Compared to other all-in-one's, this is the most fully-featured printer. It has fax, while others that may have *slightly* better picture quality due to an extra ink color don't fax or handle document printing as well with features such as duplexing. Feature junkies rejoice!EASE OF USE:Here's where I have concerns. Although the graphical user interfaces on the printer and on the computer are both well thought out, slight delays in printing occur and printing speed is obviously second to quality. It's Canon's dedication to quality that I applaud.PRINT QUALITY:The print quality of photos and documents is superb. I mean it's an all-in-one printer made by a company that is known for ultra high-quality photo cameras, printers, and printer paper. The resumes and pictures my family have made look professionally done. Enough said!My Conclusion:Do not mistake a low price on this printer for a lack of quality or value. The Canon Pixma MX882 at the current low price is a true BLESSING to your home/office setting. Buy one now!

UPDATEI wasn't happy when I wrote my previous review. And I'm even unhappier now with this edited review.My prior beef was how light the scanned document turned out. I still don't have a resolution.Now, even the printed output is too light! What gives? I am about to throw this freaking model out. It has been a total disappointment. I am changing my rating to one star. If I could give it no star, I would!PREVIOUS REVIEW The biggest disappointment with this product is the quality of the scanned documents. They all turned out too light!I've tried to find solutions for this dilemma and there doesn't seem to be a way to darken the scanned documents. If the document has photos or handwritten notes, signatures, etc, those look fine, but not the printed text.If anyone can offer a solution, that will be great.My old model Canon all-in-one printer/scanner worked better than this one...So disappointed!

I just bought this printer and I bought a pack of 13x19 Matte photo paper that was recommended for use with the printer. Only trouble is the weight of the paper is 45lbs and the printer only handles up to 28lbs (except genuine Canon paper)but that is what I bought. Is the Canon paper I bought from Amazon fake? or is the difference between 28 and 45 lbs just too great. Canon wants me to pay them $28 for a technician to confirm that...no thanks.Other than that the printer was easy to set up and looks great and also prints well otherwise.

This is our 3rd Canon multifunction printer and they all have been great. I connect and use HP's in the office which also seem to have good OS X support. I tried and returned an Epson 615 after horribly slow printing. Everyone else has extolled the virtues of this printer so I won't go into it here. The current version of the printer software CD do not include software for Snow Leopard.If you're using Snow Leopard 10.6.2 here's the fastest way to get started. I've verified this on all 3 of our Snow Leopard machines (MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac) at home. You don't need to install all of the software that another reviewer talked about.At several times during the installations and when you initially use Canon's programs, your Mac will ask you if you want to accept incoming connections from your new printer. Always say yes!1. Install the print head and cartridges. Then setup the printer on your network using the printer's control panel. The Wifi light on the printer should be lit blue once connectd.2. On your Mac, Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax.3. Click the "+" button as if you were going to add a new printer.4. You should see the "MP560 Series _425xxx" as a "Bonjour" printer.5. Wait 30 seconds.6. Now you should see that that "MP560 Series _425xxx" showed up the list under Kind "canonijnetwork". If you were to click on this then you'd see that your Mac is going to use a generic printer driver at this point.7. Close the Printers & Faxes control panel (without adding the printer).8. Go To Canon and Download the MP560 Network software drivers (about 35 MB)9. Run the Setup program once its downloaded. Do a Custom install and install both the Driver and the IJ software. Tell it you want to print over the network. The software might try to hold your hand through setup of the printer on your network. It will not succeed at this last step (try it if you don't believe me). Cancel out of that last step that keeps failing.10. Now you should see a new icon to the left of your Clock. Click it and Select "Open Settings". Select the "MP560 Series _425xxx" option (you should only have 2 options - one that says "Do Not Use". Exit out of that program.11. Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax > "+" button. Wait 30 seconds. The "MP560 Series _425xxx" kind "canonijnetwork" shows up. Select it. Notice that below in "Print Using" it's now going to use the "Canon MP560 Series driver" you just installed.12. Click "Add". Your Mac will pop open a new window and think for a few seconds. Then your Print & Fax list should show the new Canon Printer. Select it and click the "Options & Supplies" button. Change the name of your printer to something nice (I deleted "_425xxx" and added "Network". Then click "Supply Levels" to see how much ink is remaining. Click the "OK" button to exit out of everything. Close Print & Fax. At this point you can print wirelessly! You should also be able to use Apple's Image Capture program to scan wirelessly. To try this, in the program look under "Shared" and wait a few seconds for the scanner to show-up.13. Go to Canon download and install the MP Navigator EX program. This is Canon's program to help you scan from your Mac. Although this software is optional (since you can use Image Capture to scan) if you want to initiate scanning FROM the printer you'll need this program. It's about 31 MB.15. Go to Applications/Canon Utilities/ and try scanning from MP Navigator.16. Now go to the scanner and tell the scanner you want to scan to your computer. Your Mac should show up in the list of computers to scan to (we have several macs so a few show up in the list).17. You should probably reboot your Mac.That's it. All you need for basic print and scanning. Theres other end-user software (like Easy Photo Print) if you think you need it.

I bought a Canon because it was cheap and I guess I got what I deserved as I am extremely disappointed with this device and should have spent a few more bucks. I have had nothing but trouble with this device since I got it. Setting up the wireless is not easy and requires you to jump through hoops to do so which I hate. Every other wireless multi-function device I have bought in the past has been pretty much plug and play and all you had to do was turn the device on and it would be seen on your network but not this one. It requires you to set up the wireless which is ridiculous. It's not tough but it ticks me off that I even have to. To top it off the scanner does not scan to the fullest extent of the platen (the glass)and what's even funnier is that the hash mark where it says an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper is supposed to end is wrong and a sheet of paper goes PAST that hash mark cutting off my scans. To top it off if you lose the disk (which I admittedly did) you can't download the scanner drivers off of their site making the scanner useless. How awesome is that? Thanks Canon.One last thing... there will undoubtedly be people who will contest this and say they've not had any trouble with their printer and I say "hats off to ya buddy!" They might be right... but ask yourself one thing before you buy this cheap printer... are you one of those people who buys a shelving unit and there's one less screw than you need or the one fella who's computer does that thing that no one elses does? I've owned 14 printers in my professional career so far and 5 have been Canons. They're cheap, they break quickly and they have always been snotty when I speak to them on the phone. Stay away from Canon. They're big, they don't care, their products are inconsistent and you can't fix what they sell. Canon, you're one more giant multi-national corporation I wish would go bankrupt.

Хорошо

This printer has five (!) ink cartridges and it seems to use a lot of ink. Print quality is good, though.

Великолепно

We've had it for almost a year and it works just fine. Granted we don't use it everyday but it still gets used about once a week. For home use it was just what we were looking for.

Pros:Wireless printing is an awesome feature to have. Especially if I'm using my laptop in the living room and don't want to walk over to a printer and plug a cord in. The ultimate feature for lazy people like me. I often forget that so many other printers are not wireless since I'm so used to it now.Cons:Wireless communication error. Those 3 words are the bane of my existence. They confirm what The Oatmeal said about printers being sent from hell to make us miserable. This printer is constantly dropping off of my network and having a print error, and usually while I'm attempting to print something in a hurry. It makes me want to break it into pieces, Office Space style. I have yet to find a solution other than re-entering the network information on the printer (which is a time consuming, annoying process of clicking a little wheel through letters, numbers, and symbols). Of course if you're like me and you have an in depth password that is not just a couple of letters but lower and upper case, as well as numbers and symbols, this may take you so long that you'll have an obsolete printer.Basically, it's nice to have the wireless feature. I would give it a higher rating if it worked once in awhile.

Великолепно

This little printer, does the work of a big printer without all the weight. It's the 2nd one I've owned, and the 1st on is still going strong after 5 + yrs. of constant use. My daughter now is using it at school, and I like my( new to me) one just as well. It's only about 6" x 12", very compact for traveling and still prints excellent photos, copies,the ink cartridges are small, but I can print 25 sheets 8 x 10, of wallet pictures, or about 20 -40 copies 8x10 before it tells you ink is low. I refill my own cartridges so that's no problem. Easy to refill and easy to pack for all of your spur of the moment prints you need now!I would buy other products from this amazon seller and I recieved it within days of ordering it. I also like the way amazon covers products I've bought on their sight. Keep up the great customer service help.

Have not used as much as I originally thought I would. Prints are ok, nothing jaw dropping. Easy to use and set up. Eats ink like crazy....print wisely

I bought this printer on Amazon for under 30.00 shipped. I've owned it for 8 months now and its great, not one problem. It does not use a lot of ink to print out invoices and emails which is most of what I use it for. Its simple to use, easy to change ink cartridges. Hands down its the best printer I've ever used and I've used many, many, many different printers over the last 15 years. It gets a lot of use and its held up great, it's printing today as it did on day one. I use ONLY branded ink cartridges, no refills or junk ink. I luv this printer!

Purchased to use to print 11 x 17 display sheets. Does a great job. So much faster and cheaper to use than HP printer it replaced. Will add more for sure in other locations. Most cost effective wide format printer.
