Великолепно

I purchased this inexpensive printer primarily due to reviews which described the ease of installation and I wasn't disappointed. Pop the installation CD in and that's it! The printer seems to work well,but perhaps not as fast as expected. The paper feeder does not feed straight so if you are concerned about a perfect letter, you may not be satified. All in all an excellent purchase for the price.

My PIXMA ip6000d arrived yesterday, and I have only printed three photos so far--two from a digital camera and one from a scanned print. But I am ecstatic and amazed at the quality I see. These photos are better prints than I have received from photo labs recently! The clarity of one image of my pet cockatiel on my shoulder is so detailed, that the texture of my t-shirt fabric is visible! Absolutely astounding!Two of the photos I've printed were both taken with a Canon digital camera, but the third was from a B&W print scanned to my computer, and I can't tell the difference from the scanned print-out to the original photograph. In this case, I feel that regardless of your brand of digital camera, quality will still be outstanding.My plans are to use this printer specifically for photo printing, so right now, I can't speak for document quality, but if you're looking for a photo-only printer, go no further. I can't recommend this printer highly enough.

Just wanted to add my voice to the litany of memory card errors. The tru measure of a good company and a good product is how the manufacturer responds to problems. Given I have been unable to see any response from the company on this issue all I can say is stay away from all canon products!

This is my 4th digital camera, yet is the most disappointing one to date. I'm a big fun of Olympus products, but several things led to the purchase of this one:1. My wife just had a baby and needs an ultra-compact to carry around2. $50 rebate from Canon with a Pixma printer purchase which I recently made3. This camera's large CCD (1.8)4. Bought the first Digital Canon (Ixus in Europe) and have since purchased the 400 which was a vast improvement, but after 3 weeks with the 500 I feel there are inherent operational flaws in the microcode.White balance was superb on the 400, but the 500 gives strange results (I've tried dozens of settings) from bleached appearance in strong sunlight (on the sunlight setting) to poor resolution using flash.Resolution generally does not seem to have improved and occasionally the camera (for no obvious reason) produces a very low-res shot with settings in Superfine.File sizes tend to be of the order of 2MB, the same or smaller than the 400.When I press shutter release I never have any confidence that it will work. This aspect is particularly infuriating when you are trying to "capture the moment". I've just this minute tried to take a shot of the office I'm sitting in writing this review and I pressed and held shutter release and no shot was taken and no message as to why (just two defiant beeps). A second press of the button worked, but this dents your confidence in the device. Other times, the 500 seems to take an age to trigger the shutter (even on the Quick Shot setting).This is now my third model in the range... the 2.1 had faults that I could live with (innaccurate viewfinder, hesitant shutter release) as the design and image quality was superb. The 400 was a staggering improvement with all of the glitches ironed-out and great resolution. The 500 is a big step backwards.It pains me to write this review as I've recommended this range to friends and family time and time again, but this model looks like it was rushed to market without proper beta testing.donnelt@yahoo.comUPDATE 23 Aug 2004Camera died with E18 error after 3 months use. Canon will not repair, citing misuse. BREATHTAKING ARROGANCE. Always kept in case when not in use. Looked after like a new-born baby. Fast, quiet, and frugal with the ink. It is a bit large and the 2nd paper tray isn't all that; otherwise it is a fantastic printer! Beautiful pictures and crisp, laser-like documents. I had an Epson Photo 750 for years. It printed very nice photos and was a real workhorse, but it gobbled up ink. The special 5-color ink tanks meant you threw out alot of ink everytime one color ran out. The Pixma has seperate ink tanks and that makes me very happy.

This is the one area in which I insist on buying an OEM battery. I always buy generic-- film, breakfast cereal, even printer cartridges. But with batteries, I found the hard way that you can't do that. I bought two off eBay, thinking it was cost-effective(you can get approximately 12 generic batteries for the price of a Canon one), but they lost their charge entirely after a month or two.I have two of these batteries. They still hold a pretty good charge after 10 months of use. Recently, for example, I was at an event where I took nearly 100 flash photos and perhaps five minutes of video(I have an S500... video drains the battery), and the battery still had power left enough to take more photos the next day-- and upload data to my computer.It's a pity they're so expensive.

I took this camera to central europe last month and it was good while it worked. I dropped it from 3 feet and the mode switch stopped working. I couldnt preview / edit or delete pictures any more- I sent it to canon and they wanted to charge me $125 to repair it. I know it was my fault for dropping it but - shouldnt a camera be dropped once or twice without an important switch becoming useless?

I bought an S400 seven months ago and was very happy with it. Recently, however, it stopped working without warning. When I sent it in to the factory service center, I discovered something very troubling about the camera that had I known earlier would have caused me to not purchase it.It turns out that this model--as well as many other Canon digital cameras, the tech told me--has an aluminum body. If you subject the camera to temperature changes (and it only takes a change of 10-15 degrees, I was told) condensation will form inside the camera, and the camera will start to corrode, eventually rendering it unusable. This is what had happened to me. What misuse had I subjected my camera to that caused this to happen? I took it on vacation to the beach with me. Carrying it from the hot and humid beach into an air conditioned car was enough to destroy the camera! The tech told me that he sees this all the time. He didn't know the percent of all Canon cameras that suffer this fate, but he said a lot of them do. He told me he gets lots of cameras back from people who have taken them on vacation to Arizona, Mexico, and Hawaii. He even saw one that had stopped working because the owner kept it stored in a stuffy closet. When the owner eventually took it out to use it, the temperature change back to normal room temperature was enough to fry the camera. I was told that this damage is not covered under warranty and that the manual cautions users not to subject their cameras to this sort of treatment. Canon will not provide service on cameras that suffer this fate.I hope anyone interested in purchasing a Canon digital camera will learn from my very expensive mistake in purchasing this model. The camera is very nicely designed, but it's poorly engineered. If you plan to use the camera indoors only this is a great model. But if you plan to use the camera both outdoors and indoors, if there is a difference in humidity and temperature between the two where you live, and if you don't want to run the risk of totally losing your investment in the camera, this isn't the model or brand for you.

After 18 months, memory card error. I tried various remedies: new battery, different cards, reformatting via card reader to FAT, resetting camera defaults. Reformatting worked a few times the past 6 months. Now, it's been a full two years and it's a svelt silver brick. Please fix it Canon!

While not the fastest photo printer in the market, the end product - photo prints are outstanding! Use good paper and you will get great results. The iP6000D Photo Printer was easy to set up and install. Supplied software works well. All in all, a well put together package that produces outstanding prints. Extremely satisifed.

LIKES1) Nice compact size. Easy to carry.2) Great pictures for about 90% of the shots.3) Great features. Video mode. Manual mode. Sounds and Wallpaper (Themes).4) Uses Compact Flash which is the cheapest type of memory.5) Runs on same battery as the S100 (my old camera) so I have spare.6) Browse/Zoom feature is great when reviewing photos (improved a lot since S100)7) Decent price (paid about 320$) for 5MP camera back in Dec 04.DISLIKES1) Pictures come out a little on the reddish/yellowish side indoors for 10% of the shots, so I use the Manual Tungsten mode and it comes out nice.2) Video shooting on highest mode is choppy and skips w/ audio playback. I recommend using the middle quality and dont move the scene too much while recording.3) Video is suppose to shoot only 30 seconds, but I found that using my 1GB fast CF, it can do it longer by separating into chunks then you can stitch together later on your PC.4) LCD is a little smaller than usual (but its good in a way so it saves batteries)5) Only comes with 32MB CF. I wish the digital camera industry can just do away without memory cards in the package. Buyers end up buying a bigger faster memory card anyways, so why not save us a few bucks?

I've had many models of the Epsons in the past. Luckily, I purchased the additional warranty from the store I purchased them from. Within a few months, I was always bringing my Epson back to the store for malfunctions such as ink splattering, cranking noises, ink clogs, and the paper feed was just rediculous! Everytime, the store told me that I was able to just get a new printer from the shelf in exchange, and I always picked an Epson because of all the hype about how wonderful they are with photo printing, and how they're "supposedly" the best photo printers on the market. So with the last one, I decided to go with something other than Epson and came across this Canon. I couldn't be happier!!! Pictures turn out fantastic, its fast, color quality is faboulous, not noisey, and the ink doesn't clog or splatter. I love it so much that I purchased one for my mother so she can start printing. Overall, a fantastic printer!

Do a little research on this and its successor, the S410 before you buy. My first year with my S400 was great. A little after that, I started to get Memory Card Error problems. At first, I tried reformatting the CF card using the camera, which sometimes worked. I then replaced the CF card, and that worked for about 2 weeks. I Googled Canon S400 memory card error and found lots of other S400 owners with the same problem. The fix I hear about most is using a USB card reader to reformat the card in FAT format. I've tried that, but the CF card still needs reformatting every now and then. So as it stands now, I can get the camera to work if I reformat the CF card, but I just can't tell when it's going do deal me another Memory Card Error. Totally unreliable.

The setup for this printer was very easy and straightforward. The pictures that are produced are as good as any photo processor. That is, if you use the Canon paper. I have found that the paper used to print your photos does indeed make a difference. Same picture with Canon vs. Fuji paper, for example, is much clearer and less grainy on the Canon paper.I also like the dual paper trays that can be switched. For the money, I don't think this Canon PIXMA iP6000D can be beat.

Printing photos is easier than going to a Walmart kiosk. You can communicate directly with the printer and print out a photo in a reasonable period of time, with excellant quality. With two paper trays, the photo paper can be placed in the second tray, and text paper in the main tray. Text printing is extremely fast. I am surprised that the printer takes up less space than my old Canon printer.

This camera was so great when I bought it that I got 3 of them as gifts for family and friends. Now (18 months later) mine is unusable with Memory Card Errors, and my brother's is now unusable too (after 16 months)...just waiting for the other two gifts to go to crap.Canon's response? Pay $150 and we'll fix it!!!! THEIR OWN DEFECT!!!Do a Google search online for Canon and "Memory Card Errors" or Canon and E18 (another common problem)...see how awful this company is.Inexcusable. If they have a class action lawsuit against Canon, I'm in. I'll never buy a Canon again. It's too bad because when it worked, it was great.But it doesn't, so it's garbage.

I had the same experience as some of the other reviewers. Essentially, I loved my Canon PowerShot until about 18 months after I got it when it started getting memory card errors. I called Canon and they were very unresponsive. At first, I thought I was the only one with this problem until I read the other reviews. Bottom line, I would never buy another Canon product again as they have poor quality control and even poorer customer service. I am going to buy a Sony instead.

It took me a long time to decide to "go digital" and even longer to figure out which specific camera to buy. I'm fairly techno-crippled (faxes and microwaves still seem like magic to me and I still have to rely on my children to program my VCR). Because of my limitations I felt positively overwhelmed by the information to consider when I tried to pick which digital camera to buy. I read as much technical information as I could stand (not very much) and listened to the advice of family and friends until my eyes glazed over. Finally I decided to purchase this particular camera for several reasons. First, Canon was a brand of camera I'd owned and liked in the past; second, this model seemed to deliver the most features at the lowest price; and finally it looks good and has a cute name (pause while eyes of the tecno-literate roll).The day after I got the camera I took it with me on a family vacation. I started taking pictures almost right away -- although figuring out how to download the software onto my laptop took a bit of time and exploring all the things I can do with the pictures (like printing and emailing) is still in the works. But I don't think any of this is a problem of the product -- everything in the documentation seems clear enough that even a moron like me ought to be able to put this together (eventually).Here are some of the things even I can do already -- 1) I take pictures, choose which shots I don't like, delete them right away and take a new picture. This is great if you have a nine-year old who loves to ham it up for photos (i.e., now mommy is going to take this picture again. This time without the silly faces). This is great for posed shots -- now you can be sure you got that great picture of your family in front of Cinderella's castle BEFORE you walk away. 2) I can hook up the camera to my computer, download pictures and enlarge them to see if I still like them (you can't see on the itty bitty screen on the camera if someone has thier eyes closed for example). I delete pictures I don't like. I may not be able to take a picture over at this point but I used to pay to have the shot developed only to throw the picture away later. What a waste. Plus now I only print the best of the best and only what I need. 3) I can (and do) carry the camera everywhere. This camera is about the size of a double deck of cards. It tucks in a pocket or purse (it even fit in my tiny evening bag along with my lipstick and credit card). I found I was much more likely to take this little camera with me and got some great picures I might have missed otherwise. 4) I had no problems figuring out how to charge the battery, put the battery in the camera and load the flashcard (I did get the 128MB flashcard and never ran out of room). It was a bit more difficult figuring out how to hook the camera to the computer and download the pictures but again, I think these are mostly my limitations not the product's or the documentation.Some disapointments, though not unexpected, were that it is hard to take "action" shots as there is a delay between pushing the button and taking the picture that is hard to get used to. Also, sometimes I accidentally flipped the switch and was taking motion pictures instead of still pictures. It was hard to figure out how to delete the motion pictures I did not want and I did miss the still photos I had wanted to take.It will probably be a few years before digital photography catches up to film photography in quality and at a price the average user can afford, but in the meantime this is a great camera to learn with while still capturing your memorable moments in photos. I highly recommend this camera for people like me who are not particularly good with new technologies.

I got the MP130 about a month ago to replace a much more expensive Lexmark that lasted about a year. The Cannon works great,better than than I expected for such a reasonably priced "all in one". I have printed several 8x10 photos that came out fantastic. The software loaded with no problem and I was up and printing in no time. And to top it off the ink is a fraction of the cost of the Lexmark.

I just received my Canon PIXMA iP6000D Photo Printer and I am extremely pleased at the ease of operation. Within minutes, I learned how to crop pictures. The LCD and Menu buttons made printing very easy. The quality and color of the pictures are excellent.

some of these reviews are terrible. for someone to complain about "it always takes blurry pics or needs lots of color correction" is beyond belief OR you have a bad camera - hey, built by humans, so there's got to be some that are just bad.i just took plenty of santa pics today at the mall... while we were waiting for my kids to come up, guess what, i experimented and must have taken 20 shots to see what was going to work... hey, yes there were some blurry ones due to ME moving the camera, but when i held it still the pics were crytal clear - and you can check this with the easy to use ZOOM IN feature while reviewing the pics.i started 6-7 years ago with digital cameras with a olympus 1.3 megapixel. then a canon g3 and a $1000 nikon d100. today, we had this a500 in the car when we stopped by the mall - our pics are great. so if you have bad results its either YOU or you have faulty equipment - exchange it and get over it.about the Windows XP software - geez - who would use that crap anyway? or any bundled software for that matter? Adobe Photosop Album 2.0 is the bomb and its affordable - get this and you'll thank me, but don't complain about the giveaway software and pan the camera.have never heard about the e18 error, so can't talk about that.this camera is small, incredibly easy to use and takes great pics as well. its also available at CostCo.

I purchased this printer for photo printing purposes after using the Canon A95 digital camera. I was impressed with the Canon A95's features and ease of use, I figured the printer would be the same. I am very happy with my choice. People I show the pictures to can not believe it came from a home printer. They look like they were done professionally.

Upon arrival via priority mail and connecting to computer, received error message. Tried to resolve with seller and onsight;but could not. Am returning printer for full refund. Seller agreed. Again very helpful and ready to satisfy the customer. Perhaps, damaged in shipment, not sure what occurred.

I bought this printer for 1 thing only: to print text which I do a lot of. 1 word-AWESOME. Cheap ink; i only replace the black since I'm only printing text. About 7-8 dollars; probably can get it cheaper if I shop around on the internet. Not thirsty. Reliable as hell. Supercheap printer. I occasionally clean the inkjet heads, etc. but barely spend any time on maintenance. It maybe a little slow on the warmup and a little noisy for some but I don't think so. I use XP by the way. I think I got it for 25 bucks with rebate. Hey, for that price.I don't usually waste time writing reviews but this product was worth. Totally exceeded my expectations in every way.To sum up: cheap; cheap ink; not thirsty; reliable;

I bought this printer after my Epson multifunction printer died after owning it for 2 years. It is very compact when compared to the Epson, especially since it has the same scanner capabilities as well. I love the design! The price and quality are perfect for a college student like me.

I had this error after 14 months with this camera. I actually think this is a very good camera, it takes very good pictures and it's very friendly. I had an E18 error in my camera about a month ago. I sent it back to Canon Service, they gave me the option to replace it for a couple hundred dollars, but after looking at the reviews of the camera today, I just realized I'm not the only one with the same Error, I don't want to pay again in 14 months. I'll probably look for a different brand.Rolas

This is my first photo printer and I also purchased a Canon PowerShot digital camera. I printed 110 photo's this weekend and the quality of the photo's are excellent, much better than I ever imagined! Printing 110 photo's completely used up the Photo Cyan and Photo Magenta ink tanks. Barly used the Black and slightly used the other colors. So, I am back on Amazon.com to purchase those two tanks only! I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to crop photos directly from the printer and using the other printer options but that could be user error since digital is so new to me.However, I find the instructions not very detailed or indepth as to all the options the printer offers. The directions are easy to understand for what it shows you, just doesn't explain everthing the printer was said to offer. Ex... fully explains how to print from the memory card but does not give the same explaination of how to print directly from the camera. But, I'll keep working on that! Thank you!

Bought mine in Nov.'04 - worked great until the print head went out in April'05. Now it's August only 4 months later and the print head as once again gone kaput. $80 bucks in 4 months, what a piece of crap. I do not recommend this printer to anyone, in fact I wish I had bought another Epson! Anyone with a limited income should steer clear of this shoddy printer.

The PIXMA MP 130 is the 3rd Canon I bought (all are still in use) and lives up to my expectations of: high quality printing on copies and originals; fast printing; cheap ink cartridges; quiet operation; very reasonable price. Overall, a wonderful value.

I had a dell all-in-one that I liked okay, but I hated waiting for ink cartridges. I decided to go with a mainstream printer that I could run to the local store and by refills. I researched printers and for my use, this one seemed to be able to fill my need. This printer is very nice. Ink is inexpensive and the quality is nice. One of the only things keeping this from being a 5 was the fact that it pulls the paper in crooked and so things I print always seem to be lopsided.

If you read the other reviews for this printer, you'll notice that when this printer first came out, it got a bunch of great reviews. Now that it has been out for a couple of years, you will notice a bunch of bad reviews with the same complaint: the black ink stops working. It is a print head failure and the print head costs as much or more than the original price of the printer. I have always been a fan of Canon printers, but now I must rethink my loyalty, because it is unacceptable for Canon to behave as if the performance of this product is acceptable. I've only gone through about 3 cartridges and now the printer is useless, not to mention the expensive ink tanks I have left that I can't use. Think twice before buying a Canon, because you may end up with a very expensive paper weight.

The iP6000D prints fantastic photos. I had trouble at first interfacing with my Fujifilm FinePix S5100 Camera, but after calling Cannon Technical Support they helped me determine what I was doing wrong (cockpit problem). I highly recommend this printer.

This printer is so easy to use. The copies turn out pretty good and it comes with extra software that you can use to with scanning things. The scanner is pretty slow, so if you do a lot of scanning, I think that would be irritating.

First let me say, that this is my first photo printer so I have no point of reference, compared to other photo printers out there. One thing is certain, my old HP Deskjet(RIP) is an archaic device compared to the Canon. Photo print quality is so good my wife could not believe that I actually printed one of my son's pictures in a home computer (photo lab quality for sure). Regular documents prints also enjoy extremely good print quality and the duplexing feature is very neat.Setup was and installation was a breeze, and the included software is very user friendly. I love the ability to use the top feeder or the tray, I am almost always guaranteed to have paper in the printer.I have only used the memory slots on the front once or twice to see the pics from my camera memory card, but have never actually printed direct. I like the feature, but I'd rather manipulate the picture in the computer.I am totally thrilled with this printer and would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive quality product.

Великолепно

The quality of this printer is nearly perfect. Color photos can be compared to any photo shop print. The printer is extremely quiet. Cartridges are very easy to install. Can't say enough. This is a marvelous printer!

I bought this almost 5 years ago and it still works. the ink is too expensive, and the paper doesn't always feed right, but I've gone through a lot of other printers in the same period of time and this is the only one I still have and use. I travel with it and it gets banged around and has been dropped several times and otherwise abused. I was recently looking for a replacement since I had to leave my old one in mexico--thinking that there should be something as good that is new and cheaper, but I was disappointed in everything I saw and I'm just going to keep using this one. It prints just fine (with some help) and is reliable.

I have had the same issue that everyone here seems to have. Has anyone figured out a remedy for this?Canon is no help at all. They tell you that you can either: a) buy a used, refurbished camera for $199 or b) send it in to be repaired, which would cost AT LEAST $150.

I really like this camera, small, solidly built, takes great pictures. However, 2 years with this camera, and it appears to be toast. I'm getting the "memory card error" message that apparently many people are having problems with...not good.

I've owned a lot of printers - inexpensive Lexmarks to $1500+ Epsons - and this little printer is my all time favorite. Here's why I think it will be yours...1) Price of printer - incredibly low price, that won't make you kick yourself when a better printer comes out.2) Price of materials - this is a HUGE advantage in the long run; the ink carts are about half the price of some other printers.3) Photo quality output - everyone who sees the print quality is blown away. It's very photographic from any decent digital camera.4) Built in multiformat card reader - save a USB cable, it reads everything.5) Print without the computer - I've been at the in-laws and made prints in the car (with a power adaptor) of pictures I'd raken five minutes earlier.6) Great text printing - it's not just a photo printer, it's a regular old printer type printer, too. Fast, high quality.7) Actually good bundled software - the software that many manufactuers include is often a joke, but not so here. Easy Photo Print and Easy Web Print are both useful, well done pieces of software that I use all the time.8) Lots of paper choices - Canon has a full line of photo paper.I've had friends see photos from this printer, ask me a few questions, and go and buy one right away. It's a tremendous addition to anyone's computer / digital photography toybox.

Ужасно

I am another disgruntled customer with an S400 experiencing memory card errors. I have purchased 4 other elphs for family members and swear by the camera with friends, but this is discouraging enough to change my mind about the camera line and the company. How sad.

I bought this printer for three reasons:--PC World recommended it as a Best Buy.--PC World said it had a low cost of ownership.--it was inexpensive ($50).Considering the cheap price, I knew it would be a "throwaway"--that is, I expected to have it four a couple of years and then replace it for a new one. However, I discovered after buying it that it has a replaceable part called a printer head. From what I can tell, the printer head dies in about a year, and Canon only makes this part available through direct purchase. I think you have to call customer support first, probably because Canon doesn't want to advertise that the printer head costs more than the printer's original purchase price. (This information is probably true at the time I'm writing this review. However, information was difficult to find, and all my information is second hand from other web reviews. I never actually took the time to call Canon customer support myself.)PC World never mentioned anything about the printer head, so the magazine probably never factored its cost into the estimated cost of ownership. (Based on ink alone, cost of ownership is reasonable. It cost less than average to print a page.)The printer's one annoying characteristic is that it's noisy--much noisier than my previous printer.Please note that the printer's USB cable is not included. (This fact IS mentioned somewhere in the product description.) I didn't buy one from Amazon because I thought I could get it cheaper locally. I was wrong. Amazon sold it for 40% cheaper than I found anywhere in town.If this printer lasts two years, I'll consider it a bargain (worth more than the two stars I'm giving it now). If the printer head dies after a year (as others say it will), then it really will be worth just two stars.

The replacement battery works far beyond my expectation considering that I didn't expect much buying a replacment battery for my canon without being directly from the company. Highly recommende!
