This was a replacement of my old Canon i550 printer which finally stopped working after a few months of trouble. I was worried that this printer would be more complex to use since it had more buttons that my last printer, but works pretty much the same. I've found little difference in the on screen menus. Using the printer without the computer seem fairly easy from what I've used it. The quality of the scans and the printouts are great. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it doesn't turn on automatically when the computer needs it as did my old printer, but that not a huge problem, just something to get use to.

We replaced an old Canon MP130 with this unit. With one caveat, setup was easy, and as usual we have been impressed with Canon quality in the print and scan operations. It was very easy to add to our Apple wireless network and prints beautifully. Canon ink cartridges tend to run much less than for competing brands, which is one reason we've stayed with them, and this unit has five separate ink cartridges, meaning that when you run out of one color you don't have to replace them all (unlike with the MP130). The one caveat is that Canon's software is as usual dreadful for folks used to Mac functionality. The review by Olah indicates how easy it is to download and get drivers to install without the tedious process of recourse to Canon's CD, and I agree. Dump that, download the drivers, and use normal Mac apps to print and scan. It works well under both Leopard and Snow Leopard (we have computers running both on the network and driving the printer, though we've done scanning only with Snow Leopard).

It sure looks nice but...I ended up having to get an IT person to make it work for me.The reason I purchased this item is that my husband has had wonderful things to say about Canon printers and the ability to work with a Mac. That being said, neither of us could get this All in one to communicate with the MacBook. We are both tech savvy people yet this item was problematic. Maybe with a PC it would communicate well, but not so for a Mac. I can only hope that it prints consistently well.I really would NOT recommend this unit.

My Epson all-in-one bit the dust this week, and, after a bit of online research, I ordered a Canon MX330. It lists for 109, and I got it for 79. The MX330 doesn't include a USB2 cable, but you probably have one already from the printer you're throwing away. My primary use is as a scanner or occasional copier (I scan the page, save it as a PDF, and print it to my laser printer). Ink cartridges seem priced much more reasonably than my Epson, too. The refill cartridges are available in 2 sizes as well - a big plus.The MX330 is VERY well packed. There's a slot for Bluetooth on the front (however THAT'S used). Software for my G5 iMac went in easily enough. It printed and scanned immediately. The first few photos were washed out in color, and the "VIVID" setting noted in the online documentation wasn't in MY print dialog box (10.5.6). After 3 prints, the colors started to look better. I recall the literature says that the cartridges will print about 350 pages -- not a heluva lot. Scanning worked perfectly from Preview (didn't try it on Photoshop Elements). I have no use for the fax feature, so I didn't set it up. Like the other reviewers have noted, it also has a pretty big footprint.For $79, you can't beat the price (but remember, I use a cheap laser printer for 99% of my printing.)I eventually printed a photo of known "correctness" through Preview, and it came out OK, but a bit washed out. Then I printed it via the Canon-supplied "Easy-PhotoPrint EX" software that came on the CD, and the results were simply spectacular - AND it printed borderless as well. I recommend that any quality photo you want to print be copied to the desktop for ease of location, and then printing it with the Canon software.Like any inkjet printer, it gets pretty pricey if you use it as a general purpose printer.Edit: Looks like they raised the list price to around $130 since I bought mine.

I love it. Pick your picture, choose print and select your paper and select "high" (it's best) and it does the rest. I am so glad I bought it. The picture it prints is excellent and it makes an old, old picture look new.

I have used HP printers for a number of years. Thought I would try a Canon this time. Over allI am satisfied. The print quality and speed is good. I haven't had time to fully explore all the capabilities of this unit. The one thing that is very different is that the Canon Printer ismuch noisier than the HP. This is not a big deal.

Good:-print quality-print speed-less bloatware and invasive software than other printer manufactures-scan quality-value-2 print trays; plain paper and a rear one with a straighter paper pathBad:-auto tray select doesn't work very wellMost of my printing is done on plain paper, but occasionally I need to use the straighter path rear tray (photos, cd labels, etc). The auto tray select has never worked correctly. I have to go into the printers setting and manually switch between the two paper trays.

I bought the HP Officejet 6500 and then the Canon Pixma MX330 based on high ratings in Consumer Reports. Even after cleaning the dirty HP install CD, after getting missing file errors, it failed to install on Windows 2000 (which it does support) with different errors on each attempt.Fortunately, I bought it at Walmart and returned it for a refund. I bought the Canon Pixma MX330 MultiFunction Printer much cheaper after Christmas at Best Buy (in case I needed to return it, too). It installed quickly and flawlessly and works easily and flawlessly. I'm not a big Canon fan, partly because my older Pixma MP500 goes through black ink so fast (at least the printer claims the ink cartridge is empty or faulty and refuses to print), but apparently it is much better than HP. I'll buy only Canon from now on. No USB 2.0 cable is included but I don't think a cable is included in many printers these days.

I am disappointed in Canon because the PIXMA560 is very awkward to use: it seems to often expect the paper to come from the wrong place; Setting up page size, etc. is an exhausting trial by error adventure; my patience was tried so often that I returned the product. That procedure seems to have gone well!Thank you Amazon. NOT RECOMMENDED

I have 2 wireless printers and It was suggested that I purchase this Canon printer.I called the Canon help line and was pleasently surprised at the help I was given by a tech located in VIRGINIA, USA. He was extremely helpful and set up the printer fully with me.It was great speaking to a tech in the USA rather than an outsourced tech in who knows where.This is a big plus in my estimation. Thank You, Canon.

I got this printer as a gift and have had it for about 1 month. It was easy to setup, including the wireless feature, which is why I wanted it. It's whisper quiet unlike my old Dell all-in-one. Print quality is good, though I think it could be better and I haven't printed any pictures as of yet. Has easy to use software, but I use Photoshop so I wont ever use it. The scanner feature is below par in my opinion. You can only scan up to 600 dpi and my old dell would scan up to 9600 dpi.. so that is disappointing for me because that is a feature I definitely use. I will have to invest is separate scanner now to get higher quality output for my work as I am a graphic designer. If just for home use, this is ideal and serves the purpose. If using for scanning and high quality output, I would say pass on it.. just my opinion.

This is the second Canon printer I've purchased. The first was a Pixma MP500. The PIXMA MX330 has more features and only uses two ink cartidges (compared to five for the MP500). Immediately, there is a savings in the cost of replacement ink. The MX330 is truly a full featured, all-in-one printer. While others may make that claim, the MX330 copies, prints, scans, and faxes. Most other "all-in-one" printers do not fax. While "fax" technology may be starting toward the horizon, many businesses like to send and receive fax documents (legal firms, insurance agencies, etc.) so it is a nice feature to have. The only drawback is the noise. When it prepares to print it clunks and bangs and makes all other noises. Frankly, I don't know what it's doing. I just hope the neighbors don't take up a petition to have me charged with some obscure violation of community noise laws. Other than that, it is an excellent addition to any home office.

The new Canon MP 560 printer is great on features and low on stress.Just pop in the paper and ink, hit a few buttons, and you're well on your way to printsville. Next stop, page town, where the written word never looked so well copied.If you were considering a lexmark or dell, save your breath and buy this printer. Canon has outdone themselves this time. Quality is high, and the future is greased and tilted towards glide.This is one honey of a machine, I can't stop printing. This is great...

Love this printer. Prints great photos. Scans well. And is wireless. What stopped me from giving it 5 stars is ease of set up. Adding other computers to use the printer on the network wasn't hard, but should have been easier. Other than that I love this thing.

Thanks to the previous reviewer who provided the three downloads needed for a MAC. I loaded these on my laptop a few days ago. Printer arrived today, unpacked, turned it on, installed printer cartridges, connected to my wireless network, (did not even open installation disks), setup printer on the laptop and was printing within 30 minutes (including time for aligning print heads). Machine worked beautifully, although it does print alittle slow, it is perfect for what I need at home. I would recommend printer to anyone with a MAC who needs a wireless printer for home use.

I bought this with the expectation that it would work like the other older Canon MP Series I had bought. I use it for wireless printing of text and clip art in both color and black and white. It was easy to set up and the wireless feature is great since we have two laptops in the house and switching cables would be a pain. The print quality is good and it prints fast.The bad; this thing can't print a color photo on any kind of paper. It prints way too much ink (smears all over clothes and hands) and the photo looks terrible. I would not buy this product for photo printing. I have an Olympus Tough 6000 camera and have tried printing from files on the laptop and direct from the camera. Since I didn't buy it for photo printing, I don't really care and it is too much of a hassle to box it back up and send it back to Amazon even though returns are usually easy with Amazon.Buy it if you want a cheap printer that can do good text and in color or black and white. Don't buy it if you want to print photos.

After enduring a series of HP printers with their bloated software, long driver boot times and voracious appetite for ink, I was determined to try another manufacturer for a replacement. This printer is used at home, mostly for casual use, but we have taxed it's predecessors with printing graphics-intensive birthday invitations and similar documents with varying success. It's early days yet, but so far this Canon appears to be up to the task - time will tell on the ink costs. It is our first wireless printer; the setup was painless and I'm especially enjoying the ability to scan expense receipts and save them directly to a PDF on my work laptop.We selected this printer based primarily on the positive reviews here on Amazon and have no problem adding another such review.

Pain in the ass to set up wireless. I had to change the encryption scheme. Then go on every computer in the house and change the passwords on them.Printing text documents wirelessly gave me no problems but printing a photo requires a strong signal. It will stop mid print and give up.Over all for my usage of this printer I think it is okay. I got it for sale at frys awhile ago with a rebate for $50, so I can't complain about the price.

I've had this printer for several months now, and I am very impressed with how "clever" this machine is. Tons of great features, but I'm using the basics mostly, and happy with it. Thanks to discussion threads, setting it up with both PC and Mac was very easy.Not sure about the cost of ink per page, because I have not changed the cartridge yet. Which could be a good sign - after two month of a moderate use.

I researched a number of different printers to find one that was compatible with my new MacBook and existing wireless network. Given my specific business needs, Canon PIXMA MP560 Wireless Printer has been a seamless solution.Instructions for setting up the printer - installing components that had been stored in the printer for shipping - were straightforward. Connecting the printer to my network was so easy it seems effortless.I am very impressed with the quality of this low cost printer. It was clear to me as soon as I removed it from the box that it was well made with real craftsmanship. This printer is a cut above the norm. Based on my experience, I recommend this Canon wireless printer for Mac and PC users because it works so well for my Mac and PC network.

This printer was easy to install and set-up on a Windows 7 system. We've had no problems with it after about a month of use. Appears to be a well-made product. Overall it's a nice printer. The only negative (and it's a minor one) is that the paper tray has a very small capacity(I'd guess about 50 sheets max).

I am using this printer with a Mac running OS 10.5.8 with no problems at all. It's not the quietest or the fastest printer I've ever used, but it just works.The software isn't the best printing/photo/scanning software I've ever used on the Mac, but it's functional.My only complaint: on my older Canon printers I could set it up to auto-turn on and off. The printer would automatically turn on when I sent a job to it and shut off when it was done. The Canon MP560 doesn't offer this feature, which is very disappointing...especially for a printer line that claims to be "Green."But for $98...bang for the buck is incredible for a general purpose printer.

Setup was just a breeze even though entering the wireless network password on the printer was not too much fun. Not needing a USB cable is priceless and basically you can put your printer anywhere in your room without restricting you with one of those USB cables. Print quality is as good as it gets with inkjet printers. The fact that you have 5 different cartridges help in the long run in terms of the ink prices and also the overall print quality. With the canon photo paper, the result is amazing. I's definitely recommend this to anyone needing a compact printer/scanner and under $100 this is definitely a steal.

This printer replaced an HP all in one Unit which was having problems with my Mac. You can't go wrong with a Canon! The setup was decent, not earth-shatteringly easy. The included software leaves a small footprint, which stands in stark contrast to HP. Network setup is easy.The scroll wheel interface isn't my favorite, but not bad either.I recommend technology purchases to family and friends - this one will be on my list of good buys.

I bought my Cannon Pixma 330 back in the end of December it's the best one I had and the secondall in one machine . I followed directions both sets and cut my computer off and turned it back onlike it said and voila . I was almost done . overall it works great . Never had a fax machine before I guess it's time I did . I print alot and I love the copy capability and printing capability of Cannon Pixma 330. The pictures turn out just as good as they did on my bubble jet .I think Cannon has really done it this time with its new line of all in ones . The multipass i haddidn't fair as well as this new one does .

It seams good. However I got mine opened it up got it all set up and then it would not put ink on the paper. Cannon phone support was really bad waited about an hour on hold before I could talk to someone. Ended up having to take it to a repair place here in town. Found out it had a bad print head. They told me that they have scene this before with this model. Wish I would have known. It is under warranty so it will not cost me to get it fixed however I ordered this printer a month ago and still have not got to use it. Should be early next week I can get it back. Otherwise it looks like a great printer.

I like this printer. It is pretty much as advertised. The LCD screen is nice. The bottom paper feed is nice as well. I certainly wish it had a feeder for scanning and faxing purposes, but it is hard to complain about the price. The printing is pretty fast once the printer warms up (which does take a bit) and is very nice.Unlike other wireless printers I have add, the setup was a breeze with this printer.

I have now had this printer for a full year, and I can safely say that is the worst printer I have ever owned. The main problem? It jams, constantly. It will print one page, then jam. So you have to take out the paper tray and re-arrange the paper, then put it back in and let one more page print. This process goes on again and again--print, jam, print, jam, print, jam. The printer cartridges are expensive too, because the machine requires four or five separate cartridges, which cost a total of $70. I used to own an HP printer, but it was non-wireless. Now that the wireless HPs are comparable in price to this one, I think I'll get rid of this machine and buy something more reliable. The set-up was easy, as all of the reviews said it was, and once the machine finally prints your document (it is veeeeeery slow), the print-out looks good. I will say that much for it.

I thought this would include a fax machine when it said "all-in-one" but it doesn't. Otherwise I'm very happy with it. I especially like how the drawer opens when it copies/prints and catches the paper. My old Lexmark fed directly onto the desk and I always had to move items in front of the printer or it would jam up as the paper came out.

Hoping for a photo printer that was wireless and easy to use, I saw the ad for this machine. It seemed the answer to my needs, so I ordered it. Upon opening the box I became suspicious when I saw the multiple instruction manuals. Why so many? There are so many because this machine is a return to the 1980's, a time when the engineering was primative and the instructions booklets were long, written oringinally in some language other than English, and then badly translated into English.The multiple booklets are needed because you will find yourself doing the final assembly tasks that are now usually done in the factory. The instructions are mostly in small, poorly-printed diagrams. Place a thumb wrong in opening an ink supply, you are warned, and you will ruin it. Do it right the first time or buy a new one.Have a Mac? How about a booklet that has 11 pages (or parts of pages) that tell you how to install the software? I guess that Canon cannot afford the engineering to speed or ease the process.Well, if you long for the old days and were really good with Lego when you were little, buy this machine.

Great Printer !Wireless Setup:-It took less than 10 minutes to set up the printer !-It automatically found my wireless router, I enetered the key and its done.-Insert software CD. All you really need are the drivers. Takes 2 minutes to install. If you want the utilities and extras, add 5 mins)- Printed test page from laptop without any problems.- Great setup for novice users who don't want to get all tecche.Print Quality:-Print quality is great.-You have to use the good paper. Ink bleeds through on cheap photocopier paper, but all printers do that.-Duplex (2 sided) printing works well too.-Reasonable noise and vibration level.

This is my third Canon all-in-one. I bought it for the wireless convenience. Although the set up instructions were not really clear for wireless, it was intuitive enough that the set up was quite simple and easy to figure out. I had the printer configured and printing from our laptops within 10 minutes. Excellent quality and value.

MAC USERS: This product runs flawlessly on our home network. We've got it networked with a laptop and a desktop - both wirelessly. No problems. Lots of reviews say that setup was a problem, but it wasn't a problem that we had. Instructions are pretty clear, nothing to put together except the print head and ink cartridges. Scanner works great - can save to USB flash, SD cards of various sizes or just sends the pic wirelessly to any computer on your network. Printing isn't lightning fast, but that's not something I care much about. This is also a very quiet printer. We cannot hear it printing from the next room. I would strongly recommend this product to anyone who needs these resources casually. Don't know that it would hold up to prolonged, constant use and abuse, and I don't know yet what the ink consumption is like yet.

Had printhead problems with my HP all in one. After several attempts to fix it, I decided to buy this Canon for eighty some dollars. It was very easy to set up. I was ready to print in a matter of minutes after taking it out of the box. It does not have fax capabilities which is ok because I don't fax anymore. It takes less space and looks better than the HP. It does not print as fast as the HP but it's fast enough for my purposes. I think this was a great buy.

Took awhile to setup printer on the network, only supports WEP and I had my network configured for WPA but once it was configured it works great! Wonderful print quality and I would recommend this printer for anyone who needs home-quality scanning and printing!Nov. 12, 2012 Update: Printer is still going strong, this has turned out to be the best desktop printer that I have ever owned! Kudos to Canon for such a quality product!

It's no wonder Canon took so long to come up with wireless printers--they had no idea of what they're doing. I got this MX860 the other night and there are about 60 pages on how to setup one's network. Apparently, one can not setup the network from the printer and printer screen, as they could with normal printers like Brother, HP, etc.You have to start a USB connection and run an install program that runs as slow as dirt to run wireless on this printer. This is like starting a jet by pulling it by horses. It baffles the imagination that Canon could make this so convoluted and over-complicated. In addition to that Canon fills up your computer with garbage.It loads up about five programs into your startup tray, which bogs down your computer, and really serves no purpose at all.No thanks! This baby is shipping back and I'll look at a company that knows how to make a printer like Brother or Epson.
