I have owned this printer for several months now and have been extremely disappointed. I can't imagine anyone using this machine for business purposes. I bought it for personal use and do a very limited amount of printing and it goes through ink cartridges like you wouldn't believe. I am can't imagine how it is getting such high reviews. Perhaps people reviewed it before they realized how much ink it uses. I have also not found this machine very user friendly.

We purchased two of these printer. One is for light duty in an office, directly connected via USB, the other is for light duty at home, connected via a wireless network. A couple of things to note - the initial wireless setup, done via Mac (OS 10.6) was confusing and required a second attempt to work correctly. The product ships with a basic cartridge - you'll want to get the longer lasting version of the cartridges, if you do very much printing. The cost of the cartridges vary, but seem reasonable. Print quality is good - whether from the computer or from a copy.Second machine that we installed was for a PC (Windows 7) and connected via USB. Canon's basic install adds a lot of software. I wasn't thrilled with that. It took quite a while to install, but the printer worked fine and I've had no complaints since setup. One minor complaint: it takes quite a while to warm up before the first print. For the cost, that's a very minor quibble. We have bought Canon Pixma products in the past and been pleased. These two (one month out) seem to be continuing that.

This printer has all the features that it promises. The downside to this printer is that it is pretty bulky and does not have a screen like a lot of printers to show you the pictures you want to print and all that. The other downside to this printer is that is uses quite a lot of ink so ink runs out pretty fast. It is quite expensive to buy ink. The printer itself is not bad and like I said will get you the job you need to get done. I really wished that this printer had automatic two sided printing. This will make printing much more efficient and better. If they included that in this printer, I would give it one more star. Overall, this printer has a pretty good scanner and it prints at a decent speed. It is up to you whether you like printers like this.

I had one of those horrible Kodak printers with the 8-10 page capacity ink wells and the five minutes per page print time that sounded like the house was coming apart every time I turned it on. Giveaway should have been that I had to return the first one I bought and tech support didn't seem surprised. Anyway, I got tired of running out of ink, and a subpar scan so I heaved it into the trash one day and did some research. I wanted an HP but the reviews weren't so good on them anymore so I decided to take a chance on this printer even though it was scary inexpensive for all the features it offered.I had a problem setting up the wireless due to the ambiguous, maddening manual. It wouldn't have been a problem had I bothered to read the manual setup instructions and found that there is another manual that is loaded onto your computer during software install. Had I found THAT manual it would have been a five minute setup process. You have to setup the wireless ON the printer keyboard as well as IN the computer software. On the printer keyboard, to switch between numbers and letters to enter your router password, use the 'tone' button. This machine is fast, the pictures are great, I used the fax feature and it works like a champ. Scanning is a piece of cake. You can scan multiple pages. You can fax multiple pages. And, while it is a good sized printer, it is compact enough so that it fits in the small space I have for it with pieces jutting out just begging to be broken off, like the Kodak has, The tray where the finished print comes out opens automatically when a print is started and it doesn't slide out very far. I can't tell you how many times I found myself remembering suddenly, mid print, that I hadn't pulled out the Kodak's tray and frantically moving my chair (that was always in the way of the tray) and trying to get the tray out before the paper jammed against it. Now, I don't have to move my chair and I don't have to remember to open the tray.I love this thing and the price just makes it all the sweeter. Maybe I love this one so much because the Kodak was just soooooo horribly awful, but I don't think so. I think I stumbled onto one of those really great deals you find every once in a while.

I actually really like this printer. Yes, the wait time seems excessive but I just power it up before it's needed and then I'm ready to start printing. It prints beautiful copy on a thicker stock paper as recommended in the instruction manual. I've owned this for a year and have NOT had the first issue arise. No paper jams, no out of alignment copies and ink consumption doesn't seem excessive. Fax transmission is reliable as of this review. I have not used the scan feature so I can not comment on that feature. Wireless capability excellent. I have it paired up wirelessly with an iMac 27" and a 15" Mac Book Pro. I would recommend this printer.

We've owned a standard definition Canon FS-10 camcorder for two years and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a very dependable dual-purpose camera with solid components that never gave us a bit of trouble and always operated as designed. However, the attraction of true HD became just too strong to ignore. I chose the Canon HF-S200 after comparing all of the features of the top contenders in it's price range. These are the HF-S200's features that make us glad we bought it:Video and Still Photo Quality:Stunning video, even at 24fps (frames per second). At its standard 60i setting - you get the picture. Additionally, and one of the principle attractions for us, the 8 megapixel stills are what we needed so that we can take just one camera to events for excellent resolutions in both photo worlds. The stills we've taken with our HF-S200 compete with the best photos we've ever taken with any still camera. Though our digital still camera exceeds this resolution, 8Mpixel translates to a little bigger than 8"x10" prints at 300 dpi (dots per inch) resolution. Canon's dual picture mode, allowing us to snap high resolution stills while video recording, works seamlessly and is a welcome bonus feature we really enjoy. The Image Stabilizer (IS) and Powered IS yield very smooth motion on screen as advertised, a big advance from our older FS-10. Performance in all categories was impressive.Ergonomics and Connectivity:Canon got this right with their HF-S2xx family of camcorders. Our 200 just feels right all over. The few buttons I need to touch are literally at my finger tips. The ingenious touch screen menu and function controls are a breeze to operate - intuitive and responsive, with a very short learning curve. Connectivity is comprehensive, though I wish they had included the mini-to-standard HDMI cable I prefer to hook up to the HDTV. I found a nice adapter at Radio Shack though for the "mini" end for just nine bucks, so no points off for that. Honorable mention goes to their nice arrangement for the pop-up still flash/video light. It's right up front over the lens barrel, so my fingers never get in the way of its operation (I always hate that with our still cameras). Highest marks all around.RAM Storage:I have no complaints about Canon's internal digital storage systems, our FS-10's 8GB internal never acted up in the two years we used it. Still, I saw the flexibility of two SDHC ports as a plus in the unlikely event an internal chip became damaged. The 200 was my personal preference to avoid the possible expense and hassle that would involve. On the other hand, if one of the externals becomes corrupted, all we would lose would be the images on that chip. Maybe not even that, since recovery software is available from SanDisk if an SDHC goes bad.Purchase Source:Kudos to Amazon for outstanding pricing and delivery: Best price I could find, and three items from three sources all delivered on the same day, earlier than estimated. You guys are too good! Conclusion: Very impressive video/still camera we are very happy with (except I still wish Canon had tossed a mini-HDMI adapter in the box :-)

I'm a Canon Gal. I've always had Canon printers -- since the days way back in my Spent Youth, when Canon made printers for Apple. (We're talking dot-matrix old.) The Pixma line has always been most excellent. The MX882 is a definite step up. I love this printer! I love anything that *auto duplexes* without me having to take the page out and re-feed it through facing the right direction. (I don't know about you, but I *never* get the direction right on the first try.) It's a true all-in-one that does everything it promises. Plus, it can, to quote my friend's teenage daughter, "have sex with my phone and make pictures come out!" Grin. For those not technically inclined, some of its functionality may seem daunting. Don't be intimidated! It's fairly plug and play. The screen on the printer will guide you through networking set-up, etc. If you can't figure something out, Canon has excellent customer support. Here's what I love about the Pixma MX882:It auto-duplexes (I'm a writer. I need this. Oh, you don't know how *much* I NEED this!)I can print from any room in my houseI can print photographs straight from my cell phoneIt's networked - I can connect from various Wi-Fi devices as well as my laptop and desktop computersIt faxes like a mad thingIt scans beautifullyThe print quality is excellentIt's *fast*Here's what I don't like:This printer MUST have good, quality laser paper. Thin paper or draft paper upsets it and it jams, burps and refuses to pull the paper down from the back feeder. Being a Canon Fan, I expect this and use high quality paper. It seems to be either it's Wi-Fi or Ethernet. I don't know why. Just is. (If I figure out otherwise, I'll place a comment below my review.) I use Wi-Fi and USB.Even though it has quirks, I give this printer 5 stars because the functionality and quality are excellent. It's great for the price -- and like all Canon printers, it's a workhorse. I'm definitely sold on this all-in-one!!!

I have had this printer for two wonderful, wonderful years.* It's affordable* Buy some photo paper for it and the results are nearly unbeatable* No problems* Easy to change ink* Did I mention NO PROBLEMS, with moderate usage? I can't believe how much printers have improved in only a few years* Sleek, fully close-able design looks sharp* Operable from the printer interface - great when scanning lots of stuff. Push one button for each scan, and it automatically and fairly quickly scans and sends resulting files to your PC.* And...the feature that finally ABSOLUTELY BLEW MY MIND...it prints double sided. I honestly had to check myself when Adobe Reader somehow defaulted to that setting..."how did this contract get here? I COULDN'T have printed it..."CONSNot everything is this awesome yet.

I am a college student and only use it for printing out concert tickets/ coursework (so it is minimally used!)In the past two weeks it has begun jamming. It does not feed the paper straight and is unable to complete any printing. I have read through the manual and am unable to solve the issue.I really hope that this is a one-off problem and does not affect any other buyers purchasing this product.

I've had this unit for nine months, almost to the day. I have been very pleased with the software and the hardware; it had even been accepting recycled ink cartridges (which are still expensive!) without a fuss. The only thing I haven't liked about it is that, if any one of the FIVE ink cartridges is empty, the unit stops printing altogether. No black and white, no nothing. This morning I replaced the Yellow cartridge and when the ink tank carrier moved back into place it started grinding like a car's manual transmission gears being stripped. I managed to get it to print again, but the prints are now banded, off color, grainy and otherwise unusable. After several diagnostic procedures there is no change. It was at this point that I found the Canon support website to be pretty useless, presenting me with nothing but a non-working link to press like a hopeful capuchin monkey after entering my unit's serial number and date of purchase. I'm not too happy about the idea of spending the money to ship a 30-lb. hunk of electronics somewhere with the unlikely prospect that it would work when I got it back after a 2- to 5-week wait. (I was once a Denon technical support CSR; I know how these things too often go.)I've used the Pixma MP560 for my home office only, and only rarely for color printing. Sometimes a week or ten days go by before I even turn my printer on, so I haven't exactly overworked the thing. If nine months of light use seems like a short lifespan to you, as it does to me, I'd try something else. As for me, my next printer is going to be strictly black and white, with as few expensive ink cartridges and moving parts as possible, even if I have to hand-feed the bloody thing. I'm really tired of throwing good money after bad on consumer electronics. Pretty disappointed with Canon.

I bought this wireless printer because I don't have room for one anywhere near my desk, so wireless was key. Unfortunately, the wireless has proved to be practically useless. It works fine with my Windows 7 laptop, but I have never been able to get it to work longer than a week on my MacBook Pro, and my ipad can't find it either - even after downloading the Canon Easy Photo Print app. I'm so disappointed. Instead of making my life easier... this has made printing a nightmare. Especially since I recently had to take my Windows 7 laptop to get the screen and keyboard fixed, I can't print or scan with it at all. I have a computer engineering degree, and I work as a software engineer... so if I can't get this to work, it's unlikely other people can.I decided to still give the printer 3 stars, because aside from the wireless functionality the printer works great. Very disappointed with the software functionality though...

I have recently started doing things on a larger quantity basis, and apparently never realized how much ink I actually go through!! I have purchased the XL inks and they still go crazy fast!! Printing 15-20 full color pages cleans out an entire cartridge!! On top of that, each cartridge is +/- $30!! This is great for little things or color copies here and there, but not for multiple full color copies.I have also had to re-install for the WiFi connection every time I have unplugged the printer. I am not one to review products that I buy but this printer stands out from the rest and definitely warrants it's own review.Coming from an HP printer that I have been contently using for the past few years, I hadn't really know what I was missing out on but here are a few of the notable aspects of what this printer has to offer:Setup:It took me more time to get this printer out of the box and to remove all the tape and package materials than it did for me to set it up. Being a Mac user, I found that the best route was to plug the printer in, and find the drivers on Apple's website, as opposed to using any of the supplied software or drivers. Apple's driver's work flawlessly and I can print and scan without an frustration. I am using it with a USB cable (not supplied) so I can't comment on it's wifi connectivity, however.Features:I never really noticed how valuable being able to print on both sides of the sheet is. I print quite frequently for school (approx. 50-60 pages of text per week) so being able to cut the amount of paper that I would normally use in half is absolutely awesome. It not only saves trees but it keeps down costs, albiet just a couple cents per page, but that will add up over the life of the printer. The detail and crispness of the prints when printing at the highest quality is astounding. texts reads very very well and images look perfect. Also, since the printer has two paper trays, I can keep the regular 8.5"x11" paper in the bottom trey, and use the pull-out tray in the back for glossy prints.I have only used the scanner a handfull of times, but the scans come out bright, clear, and exceptionally detailed. My previous printer had only two separate ink cartridges, one for black ink, the other for colors. Being that this printer has a separate cartridge for each color has helped me keep costs down significantly. while like most printers when you run out of black ink you can just go buy another, for me, I have used a lot of the magenta and had to replace that once already, and I will have to again soon. since they are all individually replaceable, I have been able to just buy the magenta cartridges and saved a bundle over having to replace all the colors at once.Final words:In the end, this printer is a great buy and a joy to use every time. For the price, ease of use, and the features that this printer has, I would not look anywhere else for a printer. Canon has made a great product that I would confidently recommend for anyone.

I've only had this printer for 2 days. So far I am highly impressed. The set up wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it might be. The printer set up nicely and the wireless part (nothing is EVER easy when it comes to wireless) went off without a hitch. I had to do the initial set up with a usb printer cable on my computer, but the cable is gone now and my wife's laptop picked it up and connected flawlessly. I've used it already to scan about 200 old photos and the scanner was very intuitive and I really like the scanning software that came with it. It is fairly simplistic, but I didn't really want it to do too much other than capture the photos. (As a bonus, I could place 5 or 6 photos on the scanner and as long as there was enough space between them it automatically cropped them as individual pictures. That was a very nice surprise.) My one caveat so far is that I printed a picture on some glossy photo paper I had and it came out horrible. When I tried again using the Canon Photo paper that came with the printer it came out excellent. I'm not sure if I just didn't have it set right for the paper I used or if I just have to use canon paper with this printer. I'm not too upset since the canon paper really isn't too expensive. I'll probably check back a few times in the future to add in info on ink usage, but so far I'm very happy with the purchase. If you buy this printer I hope you are as happy with it as I am and thank you for taking the time to read my review.

I just bought this printer today -- I couldn't say no to a wireless printer for US$49! But I got it from Big Lots, not Amazon. I had seen the ad for Big Lots, but hadn't checked to see I could get it from Amazon for the same price, with free shipping.I knew setting up the wireless network connection would be a trial. Well, it was, but that is because I tried to do it the 'easy way'.Here's a tip. Ignore the printed instructions for wireless setup. Put the setup CD in your computer and follow the on-screen instructions step-by-step. It'll work first time, or at least it did for me.One thing you need to know -- the 'wireless LAN cable' they call out in the instructions is just a USB cable, that they thoughtfully provided, but did not label. (Man I hate manufacturers who make up their own jargon for common, everyday stuff!) That's the one thing that caused me heartburn.Apparently some folks have had trouble because they plugged in the USB cable before they were instructed to. Don't do that.Once I had the WiFi set up, I disconnected the printer and turned it off, moved it to the place where I want to keep it, then turned it back on and tried it. The wireless connection came back up, no problem. I tried printing a photo. The print dialogue box told me I had two printers -- both named Canon MP495, but one had a long string of numbers and letters after the name. Turned out that one was the wireless printer. The other didn't work. I think that may be for if you have the printer set up with a cabled connection.I tried printing a photo with the included glossy photo paper. Nice! Fast, and very high quality. I'm impressed.Dunno how this printer will be on ink, but reading other's reveiws, it looks like it won't be horribly expensive to keep supplied with ink.I didn't realize this unit came with a scanner. Nice to have if you want to make copies. It makes the MP495 an even better bargain. My experience with Canon printers goes back years. Overall I have been quite happy with them. Mostly the documentation sucks, but fortunately I've rarely had to go back to it. I do like stuff that just works!Oh, by the way. I'm using a MacBook Pro and an Apple Time Capsule router to talk to the printer. They're also stuff that just works!

Once I got the darn thing set up and connected it's been working great. However, I had to install the software twice in order for it to connect with my computer. I followed the directions in the manual until I was installing the software, which I thought was pretty straightforward. It got all set up and the printer was connected to the WiFi, and my computer recognized my printer buuuuut it would not print. So I installed the software again and made sure to follow the directions in the manual to the letter. I think my mistake was picking the wrong line when you are adding the printer. Two lines come up that you can choose from: "Canon MX420 Series Bonjour" and "Canon MX420 Series canonijnetwork." Make sure to choose the "canonijnetwork" line. I don't know why they put two options on there if you can only choose one for it to work properly but whatever.

I've recently retired my third HP printer, and after reading the positive reviews for this printer, decided to give it a go. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box is that there are not an ungodly amount of parts and pieces to put together. The one thing that I was disappointed in was that the disk included did not work on my Mac (10.6). I just went to the website and downloaded the appropriate drivers that I needed. After that, wireless network, printing, and scanning were a snap to set up!! I was amazed at how quickly I got everything up and running. The whole thing took about 20 minutes from the time I slit the tape on the box. It would've been more like 10 if I'd had the correct drivers on the disk.My favorite features:- Printing noise is minimal, and much more ambient than the loud clunking I'm used to from other inkjet printer brands...it's a pleasant whirr- It is impossible for printed pages to fall out of the printer, as they nestle in the body of the printer (no more putting pages back in order!!)- The exit door for printed pages opens automatically when printing - very cool looking- Paper tray on the bottom keeps everything tidy and blank sheets clean- Number pad only lights up when neededOverall, this is an excellent buy and I am very happy that I made the switch.

Even called Canon customer service, they took me through the steps, wouldn't work. So, I bought a usb cable (which did not come with the printer)And had to plug it in to use it. I bought this printer mainly for the wireless specs..... Grrrr....Then came time to print a black and white document. Got an error message that one of my color cartridges was out and I had to replace before printing.... WHAT? I'm not even printing anything with color!!!! Whatever, that's annoying.Well, the trouble didn't stop there, Today I went to Scan a document into my comp, (NO PRINTING) and because of that stupid color cartridge being out, it wouldn't even scan a document to my comp!!! OMG! Seriously Canon???? So I called customer service. The man helping me was very rude and of no help. All he could say was I needed to replace the ink cartridge before I could scan. Uh, Ya think???? Whoever designed this printer is an idiot. I'm highly disappointed with not only this product, but with Canon customer service as well, who offered no help towards helping solve any of my problems. I've always been hesitant to buy a mutli-purpose printer because of a difficult set-up process and complicated use procedures. Recently my Panasonic fax machine died. When I looked into a stand alone fax it made more sense to take a chance with a multi use printer (with fax) because of cost and value. After much research I facillated between the Epson 840 and the Canon MX882 and visited a local Staples to see them before purchasing online. I run a small businees out of my home and require moderate printing, faxing and scanning. Reviews I read noted Canon's customer support. So before purchasing I called both Canon and Epson customer service to ask a few questions.Well that made my decision easier. I have a MAC desk top and use to top customer service, I was amazed to fine Canon was a very close second in response time, technician knowledge and professionalism. So now I have the Canon.I was impressed that set-up was straight forward, it was not totally intuitive, following directions was paramount, but I got it set up in quick order with all functions working.I agree with some of the other reviews that start-up is rather noisy and the first printing seems to take forever but after that not a problem I've been able to send and receive faxes and print either duplex or one-sided.Duplex printing is the type where it prints one side that draws the paper back to print the other side. Photo prints were acceptable but not outstanding, but I would be proud to share with friends and family. Ink useage seems to be ok but uses ink at a faster clip than my replaced basic HP printer.I would recommend printer to folks who need an all purpose printer with low to moderate printing needs.

For the price, the canon is what it is. A daily, no frills, printer that gets the job done.A modern design, in black, makes it look great on any table top.Super simple 1 minute set up and a driver installation and you are up and running.Print noise is at reasonable level and is quickly drowned out by a TV or stereo.Simple functionality is the key point of this printer.On/off and paper reload bottom button.Flip the glossy top cover to gravity top load the paper.Flip the whole matted black case to change inks.Nothing can go wrong. The only drawback, which only applies if your printer sit on top of a small table top, is that it lack an output paper tray.In my case, a table top that is not very deep, the printed paper simply falls to the ground.Other than this specific situational inconvenience, the printer is a solid and wise buy for someone who just a need a simple basic printer.

As most reviewers have already stated, the printer is nice. User settings are fairly intuitive. My only issue with the printer so far is the ink. I first set up this printer in late August 2011 and I have NEVER used it to print in color. I've ALWAYS selected greyscale, lowest quality fast printing - these are my default settings. I did install the color ink cartridges and print the required adjustment page per the instructions but NEVER ONCE since. I would have skipped this step but the printer would not work unless I installed the color cartridges. I don't use the printer a lot - I use it for my home office and print maybe 5-15 pages a week of ordinary word docs etc. So, by late Novemeber 2011, the printer already claims it is OUT OF COLOR INK. That's crazy - the color has never been used. While I know ink cartridges dry up, they should last longer than THREE months with NO use. I know ink is where printer companies make their money but it should be at least around ink I use - not ink I NEVER ONCE USED.

Great printer. Does all it says it will do and even prints photos good. The only complaint is the ink runs out too fast but it is not that big of an issue. After market ink cartridges work well in it. It can be a little finicky at times with paper.

Item arrived in actual printer box, along with a software cd, 2 ink cartridges and sample photo paper and cables.Upon installation, It was as easy as plug and play to hook this up to my gateway dx4840 windows 7 64bit OS. Installing fixes and updates from cd took 5 minutes.Tested by printing random text's and images, Printer is quiet by default and fast.Printer looks very modern and much much better than my last printer "canon mp470"I have not fiddled with the menu options yet, However I have read reviews on here that claime the ink is bad and runs out to fast.As with all printers and through my own experience with them. You can adjust the print speed, and quality for each item you print.If you change the print settings to "low" and turn off effects that the printer uses to improve images then that alone with gladly conserve your ink and save you money.However for 50 bucks it was a reasonable price and considering everything that was included with this printer including the scanner and the ink. That alone is 30 bucks right there.Im very happy with my purchase and I have had no problems with it at all. If i do, Amazon will gladly accept my return or exchange.Good luck to the buyer who is like me and researches everything (;

Considering my last Canon(BJC4100) lasted 14 years, I was a little behind on the newer technologies. I'm glad I waited to buy after they have worked all the little bugs out of the new printers. Things like wireless printing, multifunction, etc.. My first printer was that Canon BJC4100 at a cost of $180 but this thing lasted 14 years. Pretty amazing actually. But, who prints that much anyway. I can't believe the little thing lasted that long though.Anyway, onto the MP560. I shopped around and researched the HP's mostly. I just wasn't to thrilled with their features. For example, we were looking for a printer that would actually print a quality 8 X 10 photo and a nice resume if needed and was wireless. So the print quality and wireless features were at the forefront of our search. The HP's in a similar price range just didn't convince me that their features were going to provide the quality we were looking for. So, we switched to looking at Canon. I have many Canon products from a mini- 4x6 printer to a Powershot camera and have never been disappointed with their product quality or their service dept. They have replaced/repaired my camera twice now for free, and it's old!We just got the MP560 this weekend and set it up. First of all, I can remember when you would have to have a printer hub to print wirelessly, so I was looking forward to the actual integration of the wireless feature...finally! Most everything was pretty straight forward until I went to setup the wireless. The software install took a little longer than I expected and I was surprised actually how long it took to setup the wireless function. First it didn't "see" my own home network, so I had to type it in, a very tedious process. Then the WEP key. Wouldn't want my neighbor printing something on my new printer you know. We have a secure network so I guess this is why it took a little longer, 1 hour to be exact. Not a deal breaker though. I was able to setup the 2 PC's we have networked and both printed great!Considering the technology leap I just made from the old Canon to the new one, I am extremely satisfied! Once again, thanks Canon!

Negative reviews cling to me whenever I contemplate buying a product, so I did my research and took my time in deciding what multifunction printer I wanted to buy for home/student use.I went with canon because of the inexpensive ink and because my last color printer was a canon that lasted almost a decade.I was very pleased with this product. Set up was cake and I was scanning and printing in no time. The buttons are very intuitive, much more so than my mother's old all-in-one hp inkjet. I set up the wireless connectivity without a hitch and installed the drivers on a vista and windows 7 laptop. I chose the custom install option rather than "easy install," simply because there were some programs I could do without out (like the photo editing package). It as my first time setting up and utilizing a multifunction printer. I thought it would be a frustrating experience, but it proved to be fairly simple process.I was really quite enamored with its wireless connectivity (it's my first wireless printer). So far it has never lost connection.I can't comment of the fax feature since I don't utilize it.The print quality and speed is fairly decent as far I can tell (I haven"t owned many printers). I have not used it for photo-printing yet, but I have used it to print out color maps and such. I use this printer mostly for scanning/printing purposes and have no complaints.

I've had the Epson WorkForce 1100 Color Inkjet Wide Format Printer for more than a year, and used it for demanding large-format jobs like book covers and art prints. I thought I was happy with it, until I tried the canon Pixma iX6520.For comparison, we printed a 13"x18" art print on expensive matte stock. The art has many dark brown and pure black sections. The Epson does a very good job with the blacks, and like I say, we were always happy. However, the Canon correctly reproduces many more subtle shades of dark brown than the Epson, to the point where the Epson prints now appear muddy to us. The blacks are delicious as well and subtly different on the Canon. This probably due to the fact that the Canon uses two different Black cartridges simultaneously, one dye-based and one pigment-based. Whatever the reason, the blacks are pure and clear. We generally print using the highest quality, lowest speed settings. The Epson is slow in this mode, taking over four minutes per print. The Canon is faster, taking under three minutes. This is very dependent on print driver settings, and note that the Canon and Epson drivers do not have identical settings for a perfect comparison, so your mileage may vary. We printed directly from Photoshop CS5 on a Mac.Unfortunately, no third party companies make continuous print systems for the Canon, like they do for the Epson. Maybe they will soon.Update: After another couple of months, an observation: The extra black ink cartridge on the Pixma makes a huge difference. It's a different kind of ink that is used for super black text and graphics. Didn't notice this at first, but now that we've got more samples to compare with other ink jets, the difference is real. Well done, Canon.

I bought the Cannon MP560 because I needed a copy machine and the price was right at the time I bought it. I've owned this machine a couple of weeks now. It took me a couple of hours to set up this machine, but it was well worth the time and effort, as I am satisfied with its performance. The main reason it took me so long to set up this printer is because I had problems putting the printer header in the proper position, but once I did that, the rest of the set up was fairly easy. Installing the print cartridges was easy, along with the wireless set up. I did not use the Canon set up disc, but just downloaded the most recent drivers for Vista on Canon's website. I like to keep my laptops lean and mean and that means not installing bloatware. The only criticism I have of this machine is that it takes about 20 seconds for the first page to print. After that, the machine prints fairly quickly. The machine defaults to power saving mode and this appears to be the reason for the initial delay. I wish I could change that setting so the first page could print more quickly, but I haven't been able to find anything in the main menu or settings to change that.Print quality is good. I especially like the duplex printing. I had to go into the settings on each of my laptops to change it to duplex printing.I don't find the printer to be noisy. My HP 6980 wireless printer is much nosier than the Cannon MP560. More importantly, the three laptops in my house are able to hold the wireless connection, which my HP 6980 has problems doing.I haven't used the scanner yet, but I am satisfied with the print/copy performance. So far, so good.Update: 12/12I tried to scan a document wirelessly to my laptop and was not able to do it because I did not load the Cannon CD. However, I was able to scan the document to an old 64MB Panasonic SD card and then emailed the document from the SD card. That was the first time I ever scanned anything and it worked! I was able to get a new license code from another company that requested that I scan a document and email it to them. It should be noted that it didn't work when I tried to scan the document to my micro SD card when I used an SD adapter. I don't have a USB flash drive so I didn't try it via that medium. As long as I can scan via an SD card, it's Ok.Bottom line: I'm satisfied with this machine. Everything works fine.

Taking the price into consideration (under 25 dollars), there is no way I can give this printer anything less than 5 stars! This is a very basic printer, but if you want an all in one Canon printer, Amazon has one for about 15 dollars more.It isn't great for photo printing though. But I didn't anticipate that it would be. I did have some minor problems with the set up but once it was set up I had no other problems. This printer also has a cool little feature that I enjoy using. You can clip certain parts of a page that you want to print and leave the rest out. It helps to save paper that way too. I recently bought an Epson wireless all in one printer and I use that with my laptop but this Canon printer I'm going to keep to use with my desktop computer.I would recommened this printer to anyone looking for a very basic (get the job done!) printer that works well and someone who isn't looking to spend very much for a printer.

Granted when this PoS works, it works acceptably well. WHEN IT WORKS!I have owned it for a few months now, and it has never, not once, worked without fussing, powering down, rebooting my computer and whatever else I can think of to get the PoS to perform. Typically, it takes 10-20 minutes to get the printer or scanner to work. The issue is the computer simply does not see it. It's connected. It's on. They are physically inches apart from one another with an f'ing cable linking them. Forget that sorry ass WiFi - never got that to work.I am looking at my baseball bat at this moment and considering the pleasure of destroying the thing and be done with it.

I was never a fan of "all in one" anything as 9 times out of 10, you give up a lot of what is should have been in the first place. This is a VERY decent printer, with excellent photo results. Used properly can easily beat (quality wise) most of the corner street photo labs including Costco.Duplex ADF scanner is a great benefit for me. I have not used the FAX feature so I cannot speak about itScanner quality is great alsoOne drawback (or maybe two) is that sometimes is slow to start printing (likely it deep cleans its head) and also is a bit of a ink hog - because of the same.... every head cleaning wastes ink. I have likely printed about 75 4x6s and two color cartridges are low on ink.I suspect that if you print many pictures one after another you will better use your ink. If you will print every now and then, because of those automatic cleaning cycles, you will quicker run low of ink.Overall I like this printer, I will only improve the ink consumption. And btw - this printer has a larger footprint than most others. Measure your desk/printer table before buying it, or it may end up sitting on the floor (as mine does) ... ;)

I purchased the Canon MP560 Printer on August 24th, and it was delivered on the 27th. (today). Pretty good delivery time for free shipping. The setup guide made it really easy to get it going. Big deal; 16 minutes to download the software. It was no big thing. I had no trouble putting in the printer head; I just gave it the light touch, and NO PROBLEMS! The black ink was very distinct on the fine setting, but lost some of it's luster on fast printing. It still looked good. I do a lot of printing on a monthly basis; approximately 100 articles at 8 pages each (4 front and back ), and I will have no problem sending these articles out to my mailing list with the fast setting (it is pretty quick), and this setting stretches out the ink for more printing on the same cartridge. The "duplex" printing setting kicks out printing on both sides, and I don't even have to turn the paper over myself; it is all automatic! The paper comes out of the printer, and then goes back in to print the other side of the paper! I love that feature. I also do a lot of printing, both black and color brochures for our local mission, and do not expect any difference in the quality of the colored brochures, or the photos from my old Epson. I accidently printed out an 8x10 photo on regular paper. It looked decent, but when I printed it out on premium glossy paper, it was very appealing. I had a Epsen Stylus Photo R260" which printed out really nice photos with it's six cartridges. The Canon matched the quality of the photos with only five cartridges! I have no trouble with the LED Viewer. It is easy to see everything, and the controls are easy to get to. I have not tried out the scanner yet, but printed articles (duplex printing), and colored photos from the computer with no problems. I will update my review after I try this feature. There is no "fax", but I don't do much of that anyway. Better to have quality on the other features. I ordered five "compatible" ink cartridges for $15.99 USD, which included shipping. With all the printing I do, I appreciate the cheaper ink, and I have never been sorry that I used it. The compatible cartridges always put out good text and photos with my old Epsen. I anticipate they will do the same with the Canon. The front lower paper feeding tray does not hold a great abundance of paper, but it is sufficient. Others have complained that they had to pull the tray out to reload, and it was burdensome to replace it. I have no problem replacing it in its place; and I don't even open it all the way; just enough to slip some more paper in on top of the other paper left in the tray. Why pull it all out? I gave it "5-Stars in all departments.

I am giving this printer 3 stars only for the reason listed below. I think this is a great printer, however if you want to print wireless to the printer as it is a WiFi enabled, from your I devices you should consider looking at a different printer. Shame on You Canon for having an app that can only print pictures and nothing else. If canon releases / updated their application to print other content this would be the best printer / scanner / copier for the money and functionality.

Not only does this printer use a lot of ink AND according to Consumer Reports has one of the highest ink replacement costs - BUT if you run out of ink, the unit will not even let you SCAN!!!! Canon has designed the unit so that the user is forced to keep buying ink, even if not using the printer. I do not plan on buying another Canon printer/scanner.

I just upgraded our small home office with two fast computers (desktop and laptop) on two different desks and the MX882 Wireless printer. I still own another smaller Canon printer that is USB connected but this is the first Wireless printer I have owned. I chose Canon based on self experience and other references to the brand. I was a bit disappointed with the smaller Canon printer for various reasons. However, I'm very happy with the MX882.As with other reviews setup was just a bit more complicated than the small Canon, however, one has to realize that this is a small home office printer which has a lot more functionality and it would require some initial administration. I would probably not use it for a place that has heavy printing usage. Home office printing including my wife and kids seems to be appropriate. It has everything you'd need for a small home office: Printing, Copying, Scanning, Faxing. It supports wireless, hard-wired, or USB connections. The printing speed is sufficient for small home office needs. The duplex unit is not that fast but it has it (my smaller Canon did not and it was a pain to flip the sheets manually all the time with double-sided printing). Copying is a breeze and Color copies come out beautiful, almost perfect. Faxing is also impressive and very easy to set up and use. I love the small LCD interface and the keypad. I have not had to replace the ink cartridges yet, however, so far the benefits outweigh the conveniences of this machine. So far it's met and exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend this printer to others.
