I wanted to find a printer which could print a DVD or Blu ray label, from a Mac directly onto the disk which is what this printer was advertised as being capable of doing. It printed fine on paper but that was not why I bought it.

Several frustrated hours later, puzzling over some very sketchy and confusing instructions and a fruitless call to a support team who looked online like they were Canon but I suspect were nothing to do with Canon - they wanted to charge me

I bought this printer to replace my old Canon ip4300 printer which served me well for 6 years until the day when it just stopped.
I decided to 'upgrade' to the ip7250 - big mistake. The ip7250 prints well - but the convoluted way it feeds paper through the machine results in regular misfeeds. You can't see where the paper is as it misfeeds. I do like to see the paper feeding through in the good old tried and trusted way. Also although there are 2 paper cassettes only one of them carries A4, the other cassette carries smaller sizes some of them quite odd.
Fortunately Amazon gave me a refund,
My days of assuming that Printer manufacturers only change things for the better with each succeeding model .

I've been using the "Canon Pixma MX882 Wireless Office All-in-One Inkjet Printer (4894B002)" a few days now so I can't attest to the life of the ink cartridges and they do look small in size. However, we should all know by now that ink is how they make their money and why the printers are so cheap! I figure with a name brand like Canon there will also be "other people" selling cartridges for less if these turn out to be expensive (I haven't checked). Years ago I learned the hard way that smaller cartridges are better for me because when I purchased the jumbo cartridges for my other printer they would go bad with age long before the ink was used. There needs to be a balance in size and your usage.I love this printer and it connects to everything. I just plugged in the BlueTooth dongal (funny name) and even that worked first try. Home wireless, Ethernet cable direct, USB direct and BlueTooth! Some people say "who needs a flat bed scanner?"... Well try poking a book or ripping the pages out of someone's new magazine to put in a "slot type" scanner. This does it all and I have no use for the Fax but it's there. Has a nice very bright setup screen - function window and is pretty easy to figure out just looking at the buttons.One word of caution, follow the setup instruction exactly and don't start plugging in USB cables before loading the drivers and software. It quieter than my HP printer but much larger and heavier. The box it was shipped in, was in itself very HEAVY DUTY and extremely well packed. It's all black plastic on the outside and fingerprints show up easily, but clean up easily. It has memory chip slots to print from as well as a pict-bridge but I prefer BlueTooth. The "Canon BU-30 Bluetooth Adapter for PIXMA Canon BU-30 Bluetooth Adapter for PIXMA MX850" on Amazon is specified in the printer manual and works very well even though it says MX850, it's the series MX*?? that counts and this works.I set it up with a USB cable (NOT SUPPLIED) 'after' installing the software on the computer, then disconnected and turned on wireless and a few days later plugged in the small BlueTooth dongal (which I prefer).Pay attention and look at the advertising points on the outside of the box. I often find information easier on the outside of the box than scrolling and search online printer manual pages.If I have any problems I'll update this review but all is well... Read the instructions before doing anything, don't even connect power or USB.

The printer did all that it was meant to so did well on that score. However its ability to print through the wifi through the web is pretty limited and without a lot of effort it cannot print word docs - the canon app is not up to it.

Found I needed to up grade my mac to cause this thing to work. OK Probably my fault that for not checking fine details. It said compatible with macs. I should have read further were it says only macs that are absolute top of the range and have just left the factory. Any way after some huffing and puffing it works quite well for a basic printer

This printer is very noisy and takes a long time to begin to print but it does print quite well. I have not printed many photos yet so cannot give an opinion on their quality but it works well for general printing , although it drinks ink at a fast rate. As it was a fairly inexpensive printer I cannot complain but next time I will pay more and get a better one.

We've used this printer for over a year (I think a couple years), with varied success. Until the past couple months it was generally reliable (more than 90% of time), but now both my wife and I are experiencing routine failures with the wireless connection. Do a web search - this appears to be a very common and extremely frustrating problem. I'm writing this review now because I just scanned 11 pages, and then the scanner suddenly "disappeared" and I haven't been able to get it back. During the past 3 months we've:- reloaded drivers- rebooted the computer- turned printer on and off- re-established WiFi connection- printed documents from other programs (we can sometimes print but not scan; other times can't print)Other reviews provide excellent descriptions of the abilities of this device - for the price, I think the print and scan quality are excellent. But this won't help you if your computer loses the connection. This is particularly infuriating when you're in a hurry, which seems to be most of the time I need to print something at home.Until Canon addresses this SEVERE connectivity issue, I would not recommend this device unless you are very tech-savy and capable of dealing with the networking issue.

I asked, on your site, to give me a list of "all in one" printers. This printer came up amongst others. I was short of time, I was advised to get a printer with seperate colour cartridges. That is what I was looking for and found with this Canon. I now have to purchase another one after Xmas!

Bought this to connect to my iPhone and print. There is also a FREE App from Canon that lets you scan from the printer to your phone without needing your computer! Easy to set up, easy to change the inks, easy to see when the paper is running out. Only downside was my BT Home Hub 3 that did not like the WPA2 security so I changed the printer to use only WPA and all fine now. The price of the printer costs less than replacing my inks for my old printer!

I bought the Vixia H S200 based on the many good reviews and the top rating on cNet. It is a great all around camcorder no doubt with fabulous image and video quality. It ranks at the top of what's out there today in the prosumer or near-prosumer category. Then I read about the Panasonic HDC-TM700 and especially the comparison of the Panasonic with the Canon VIXIA H S21 was intersting. The Vixia H S200, VIXIA H S20 and VIXIA H S21 are identical from a hardware/firmware perspective, just that the H S21 has a viewfinder and 64GB built in memory, the H S20 has 32GB built in memory plus SDHC slot and the H S200 does only have SDHC card slots.The Panasonic beat the $400 more expensive Canon easily. So I decided to do my own comparo and ordered the HDC-TM700. Now after two weeks of comparative footage I have to agree. The Panasonic HDC-TM 700 is the better camcorder for all the same reasons listed on camcorderinfo.Since this is a common comparison many consumers are doing these days, I will frame my input here in a Canon vs. Panasonic list.Pros of the Canon VIXIA H S21/20/200 camcorders vs. the HDC-TM700:- Sound quality seems a tad better, but not much- 3" touch screen is much larger and has much, much higher resolution- Menu structure is better- Still image capability is significantly better- Video gain functionis flat out excellent and can effectively be used to increase low light sensitivity, while reducing image noise drastically- Two SDHC card slots- Flash is more powerful- Has a built in video light, even though it's meek- Hot shoe layout is much better than Panasonic, but it's a Canon proprietary design, so you can only use Canon accesories- The standard battery is not very large (last about 80-90 minutes) quite tricky to eject, especially when you have wet or sweaty hands. It doesn't come right out when you release the lock and is hard to pull out.- The hand loop is very chintzy and permanently mounted to the camera body (cannot be replaced if it wears out). It is not big enough for larger hands and constantly a bother.Pros of the Panasonic HDC-TM700 vs. the Canon VIXIA H S21/20/200- Lowest price of all of these ... even lower than the H S200 which has no viewfinder and no built in memory- Far better video image quality in all aspects in the new 1080p60 mode, especially resolution and sharpness- Smoother video quality, especially when panning- Better and more vivid colors .. this used to be Canon's strength ... go figure- Better low light capability and better low light colors, although video gain function is much better on the Canon- Wider angle, 12x aoom and faster lens f/1.5 ... this seem unimportant, but the wider lens is immensly important for capturing everything in close ups. Big advantage for the Panasonic!- More manual controls, especially the fact sharpness levels can be set !!- Much more comfortable to handle and operate. The Canons are quite a bit larger in size and more awkward to handle.- Better full size manual control ring around the entire lens vs. the silly knob on the Canons- Has a real battery charger/power supply in which you can charge one battery while the other can be charged on the cam simultaneously (Canon has only a power supply, a charger to charge batteries out of the cam is extra!)Things I don't like:Canons: Lens is not wide angle enough which makes getting all into the picture, especially challenging for inside a home or when close up. Touch screen is not very sensitive and smooth scrolling through the menu is difficult. I often also accidentally selected a menu items while trying to scroll. This really needs work and makes the high res screen quite cumbersome. Lack of a real battery charger and on top of that the power pack has a proprietary plug (for all of my Nikon and Panasonic gear I only need to take one AC cord and can use it with all chargers or power packs, for this camcorder you need a proprietary AC cord!). The camcorder is a bit awkward to hold and really too big for today's standard. Glossy high shine finish makes the camcorder slippery with wet or sweaty fingers and you see every finger print.Panasonic: The bolt-on accessory shoe is a real joke. Like a massive bolt on to the side. Screen and menu structure not up to par of the Canons, albeit the touch screen works much better for touch commands. Cooling fan is a moving part and will break eventually. Only one card slot.In the end I am after the best video quality and most vibrant colors with super sharp footage. In that department the Canons do not even come close to the new Panasonic. Period. Since I am also carrying a bunch of Nikon gear around for still photography, I like that the Panasonic is smaller and is also much more comfortable to hold.

I wish I'd never bought it. My previous Canon printer was excellent, but this one is useless. It cost a fortune to run (no like for like ink available)and print speed is very slow - 1 page per minute if it's a mixture of text and pictures. Furthermore, it only seems to print about 4 or 5 sheets before stopping / jamming / giving up!

I'm going for an Epson!

I purchased this printer on sale at Amazon, received very fast delivery! (Less than a week, and that's great service !!)I have had Canon inkjets printers is use for about 7 years now. I like the separate ink tanks, their well designed paper handling, and their well designed driver software. The iX6520 is quiet, reasonably fast for a large format printer. It's easy to set up, and can be interfaced only by a USB connection. It has only one paper feed input, a fold out tray at the back. It can handle several sizes of paper stock as well as envelopes. It has a slide out output tray at the front. This printer can handle "B" size paper, or A3+ (13" x 19") size. I use it for printing CAD drawings. The newer 200 series ink tanks are smaller than some of the previous CL8 series, but if you purchase ink from 3rd party suppliers you can cut you ink cost to about a 1/3. I have used LD products ink with very good results. Others are available online and here at Amazon.This printer only has a couple of buttons with back light indicators on the front. Printing is easy to perform. Since this printer is rather large, and requires room for the rear input and front output trays it will take up a good deal of room. If you have a need for a larger format printer this may be the one. It is NOT a high end CAD color plotter, but for most home applications requiring A3+ size paper or smaller this printer is a bargain. I currently own and use five Canon inkjet printers, and I have been pleased with them. I can't say how the reliability of this new model will be yet, but if it is like my two older models it should be quite good.I would recommend them.BC

I have been using the Canon PIXMA MP560 for over a month now. Setup was probably a lot more easier if I used the installation CD because it would install all of the required components to make my printer ready. I didn't use the installation CD that was shipped with the printer. Instead, I downloaded the setup software for the printer from Canon site. I first downloaded and installed the latest printer driver. When I tried to test the printer by sending it a Word document to print, the printer manager appeared to time out and print job eventually failed. I then called Canon technical support. The tech support person was very helpful. He guided me through each of the installation steps since I didn't use the setup CD. It turned out that I had to download and install all component software such as the MP Navigator, Easy Photo, and the Network Tool. Once the setup was complete, I had to setup the printer to use Wireless connection because I have three PCs connecting to the router on the LAN. If you want to use direct connection to the printer, you would need to purchase a special USB cable with a special head that is connecting to the printer. I have an old USB cable left over from my previous HP inkjet printer. But using a direct connection via the USB cable is inconvenient because the PC that is connected to the printer must be on before you could print anything. So, using wireless connection is much more preferable. I have no problem printing from any of my three PCs.To use the wireless connection, I needed to use WPA2 option for wireless authentication protocol. That means, I had to set up a long pass phrase through the LCD control panel so that the printer can sign on to the wireless network automatically whenever it is powered up. Whether to use WPA2 is dependent on whether you desire to have a secure wireless network. Since I had already set up my wireless router to use WPA2 protocol, I had to choose the WPA2 option when I set up my printer. I also used MAC address filtering on my wireless router and so I had to navigate through the setup menu on the LCD control panel to find the MAC address of the printer. Once the setup is complete, the printer is ready to use. By the way, you have to assign a unique name to your printer so that you can select it from a dropdown box whenever you print a document.After the setup, I tested the Easy Photo to print a color picture. It is pretty easy to use. Just start the Easy Photo on your desktop and pick a picture of your favorite to print. My test picture came out perfectly. The photo printing is pretty fast too. I haven't tried to use the memory slot on the printer to print photo directly using the control panel. But I like the Easy Photo because it makes the pictures selection so much easier.Without the MP Navigator, it was pretty clumsy trying to scan a document that had multiple pages. Originally, I used the LCD control panel to scan the document one page at a time. It worked as expected except that the next page I scanned in was stored to the same directory under the same default file name. In effect, Canon PIXMA MP560 overrides the scanned in document unless I change the default file name right after scanning to prevent the file from being overridden. The whole process was rather arduous because I had to move the flash drive back and forth between the PC and the printer in order to change the name of the scanned in document before starting the next scan. That was rather slow and tedious. I highly recommend to use the MP Navigator.Using the MP Navigator is so much easier for scanning documents. All I needed to do is to start scanning and the printer automatically saved the JPG image of the page to the selected PC. When I started the scanning on the printer, I had to choose which PC to save the image to. If I wanted to save one or more pages in a single PDF file, I could check all the related images in the sequence that I wanted my pages to appear in a PDF document. Then, I just clicked the Save All button to aggregate these selected images into a single PDF document. Without the MP Navigator, you can never collate the pages together in one document: Each page is saved as a PDF file by itself using the same default file name. That's why your file can be overridden if you forget to change the file name after the scanning if you don't install the MP Navigator on your computer. So, it is a good idea to install the MP Navigator before you do any scanning. Scanning photos works the same way as scanning documents except that you need to rename the image file names.Scanning black and white document is good. But when I tried to copy a page that had dark red color, I got a light pink color instead. The printer couldn't quite replicate the color from my original document. Copying a color document might not guarantee color fidelity in the resulting copy. Overall, the printer is pretty good to have.

Hi,I ordered this printer from Amazon because like many of you out there, I too like to inquire and research before making a potential buy especially if it's a buy for an item that is more than $100.00 worth, in this case the cost was $150.00+ but I can confidently tell you that after 2 months of using this work horse of a printer, it has been proven to be as reliable as most previous buyers of this very same item have stated.Pros:Prints great and fast (I don't use my printers to print photo pictures so I can't comment on that)The speed at which prints my essays, research papers, is amazingly fast and free of ink stains.Set up is relatively easy using the provided installation disk.it has multiple ink cartridges which is great, because you only replace the color that runs out thus saving you money in the long run, but again that really depends on your needs and frequent use of it.Cons:I guess the only con if any is that when the printer first arrives in its big box, when you take it out, the holder where the ink cartridges sit on is not pre-installed. Meaning that you need to manually assemble that tiny part first before you can insert the ink cartridges in on it, in my case I could've figure this out right then and there because I work with computers, printers, and other electronics for a living but I wasn't home when this arrived, so my girlfriend tried assemble this on her own but she was frustrated because she couldn't get the assembly part and I'm not stereotyping but rather pointing out that if you are an ordinary person who rarely touches anything that has to do with electronics it might turn out a bit confusing and like my girlfriend, you might end up frustrated with it, granted the printer DOES comes with instructions on how to assemble it right, but in our case it was a minor lock hatch that had to be pushed away in order to let the ink cartridge holder sit, and then you can insert the ink cartridges, I explained this to my girlfriend and she understood why the piece wouldn't fit finally, so just keep an eye out and don't give this a bad rate because you might think it's broken or you got the 'wrong part' as my girlfriend first suggested.I hope this helps anyone out there, but in conclusion the set up is easy, in terms of the installation of this printer on your computer. just install the software and you'll be ready to go.Note: To set up the wireless feature, you need to do this first by adding your new Canon printer to your wireless router first by using the screen instructions on the printer itself where it says "Set up Wireless", in there you can enter your router's WEP/PSK key, then you can use the software disk to finish the installation.Best of luck.

Not sure why everyone is saying they had problems setting it up, using WPS it was an absolute doddle. I can print wirelessly from my ipad, any laptop etc. scan images to USB stick is a really great feature too.

It is a touch on the large size, but otherwise a really fantastic budget printer, with great image quality and cheap inks.

The printer arrived in quick time and I had no trouble setting it up for the price I think it is excellent value for money I have printed on a couple of DVD which is why I bought it with great results, the only thing I would say is that the software for printing on the DVD is a bit basic but still good for the price, I would recommend it to anyone it’s very good

Purchased this 2 years ago October 2010. This review is based solely on our use and not in response to other reviews. We needed a light duty all purpose unit for the home office, and this fit the bill. Anything all purpose in this price range I expect either will have some major functionality or quality compromises, or just not be durable. So how did this one fare you ask???Printing has been fairly reliable, quality is respectable, although it does guzzle ink which maybe is not unusual for this price point. The initial WiFi setup was fairly painless. Sometimes WiFi print jobs would hang or be very slow to print the first job after powering on. But overall acceptable for the price.UPDATE on scanning: originally I posted that the scanner was failing after 2 years due to unpredictable blurry spots. I've determined its simply the extremely poor /or low depth of focus to be expected on multi-function units in this price range. Any part of the scan that is not pressed perfectly flat to the glass will be blurry. If you have common office use scenarios such as scanning mailed paper correspondence, bills, and receipts - i.e documents with folds or wrinkles - you will have issues. This is from springiness in the cover. I found the best results are removing the cover, making a custom black backboard and then heavy weight text books to flatten the document. This is obviously impractical for the average user, high volume use, books, magazines, or anything else shaped irregularly.Bottom line, if you only need light duty and mid quality printing and document copying/scanning this is a fair choice. If higher quality, archival, or color scanning is important look for a dedicated scanner.

This printer is amazing!We had to replace a Canon photo all-in-one that was getting long in the tooth but I had heard some great stuff from the Pro-100. I figured it it was as great as they were saying we could buy a separate scanner for the few times we need to scan.After getting the Pro-100 from Amazon and getting it set up, I was a little worried about the learning curve, but using Canon printers before definitely helped the learning curve. After running a couple of photos through it I was amazed at how it matched my monitor almost perfectly! Everything I got from the photo labs was color corrected away from where we had it set but the Pro-100 nails the colors we want perfectly! I even printed out a couple 4x6s that we had already sent to the lab and compared them. Impressed by the Pro-100 and disappointed by the lab.If you want and/or need a printer that is going to match the colors you are trying to reproduce and output them stunningly on high gloss, gloss, luster, or other photo papers, the Canon Pro-100 is definitely my recommendation!

Having a printer makes me feel more like a real person, if you know what I mean- but being a poor grad student I cannot afford fancy printers/ink. So I decided to give this a try, since its so cheap. I figured even if I just use up the ink that comes with it, it would be worth the 20 bucks. I am pleasantly surprised.What I like:1. The size. It fits on the plastic drawers in my small apartment. Great for a college student (think dorm rooms).2. The sound. Okay, this is weird...I know a lot of people are complaining about how loud it is. But I love the printing sound this little machine makes. It is loud, but soothing. Nothing like HEARING the physical action of my work being printed out. I find it thoroughly relaxing to listen to this thing.3. Speed. It is pretty fast for a cheap printer like this. I printed a full page painting yesterday, and it only took about 20 seconds. My essays get printed even faster.4. Design. It is a nice, simple shape. All black. Pretty sleek. Nothing sticking out. Probably would fit on to a spacy book shelf.5. Over all functional printer. Worth the money. Saves me a lot of time by eliminating my trips to the office/printing store.What I don't like:1. No paper tray. I have to catch the sheets as they come out (since I have it on a chest of drawers with no extra space). So sometimes when I print multiple sheets, they get out of order. Kinda fun to see my papers flying everywhere though.2. Software. Yes, it makes you install a software on your computer. That's annoying, but a one time deal. Do all printers come with softwares?3. No USB cord. That's right! I had to order a USB cord separately. That's really inconsiderate of Canon.4. Requires special installation if you want to print something off of a webpage, unless you copy/paste it to a Word document. YES, isn't that strange? Even websites that give you the "print" button..it still will not work just because it is on a browser. So when you install the software, make sure to set up the Online Printing option. I have to figure out how to do it over again.Other than that, can't complain. If you want an economic printer, this is a great choice!Thanks for reading and hope this helped!

Arrived very well packaged. Very heavy so you may need some help unpackaging and placing the printer, also a fairly large surface for it to sit on. Set up was easy, it took around 40 minutes and the intructions were very straight forward. Wi-fi has worked seamlessly, even from my mobile phone. This was my first foray into A3 printing and Im so glad I finally took the plunge (have wanted an A3 printer for ages!). The quality of the prints both in colour and black and white has blown me away. I have so far used Canon, Ilford and Permajet papers and results on all 3 were brilliant, particularly the gloss and lustre papers. Im not a professional photographer and my lap-top monitor hasnt been calibrated, but so far, this hasnt been a problem with prints looking exactly as I expect them to. Ink consumption so far has also been fine. I would definately recommend this printer to anyone considering an A3/A3+ sized printer, you wont be dissapointed.

Twin paper trays are a great. Use it with an iPhone and it's gives very good wireless coverage
Fast on A4 general printing too. 6x4 Photos are good quality.

I bought this to print dvd's with and this have proved excellent for this I have printed over 100 Discs on first set of inks and they are all full colour and one cartridge has just run out. I have ordered some compatible cartridges as I cannot afford to buy Cannon ones as just too expensive when are these companies going to catch on and sell at a reasonable price people can afford.

Print quality is superb, finding out how to work the software was probably the hardest bit but figured it out within a few hours, Printer installed easily and went on the wireless network fine, there was a glitch where it set up a second printer that was then set as my default but sorted that and all works great.

I have had two major issues with this product. 1. Within about a month of receiving it, I noticed that the scanner didn't work, all scanned (or photocopied) images had a black stripe about 1.5" wide that covered the entire length of the scanned image. I should have initiated a return, but didn't, continuing to use my old scanner.Now, after replacing the color print cartridge (with the manufacturer's replacement, not an aftermarket one), the print head is no longer aligned properly. I attempted to follow the instruction manual for aligning the print head, but it seems to think that it's jammed each time I print the alignment sheet. It isn't jammed, and any other print job prints without issue... provided that you don't mind half of the text being almost illegible because the print head is so misaligned... Of course, it wouldn't much matter if I COULD print the alignment page, because it imprints that giant black strip onto everything that it scans, so it wouldn't be able to read the alignment page anyway.I'd replace the thing today if I didn't have two new cartridges in there, and even so, I haven't to wonder if it's worth all of the time and effort I'm putting in to do the most basic printing.

I have gone to the cannon site and downloaded the latest versions but they will not load on the Mac.

I went onto Google and see that Cannon say not supported yet. Wish this had been made clear on the page prior to purchase.

I am very pleased with my new printer it replaced my canon iP4600 which I had for some considerable time, it also prints direct to cd's, quality is very good, my only worry is the amount of mixing it does upon startup, but will have to wait and see how the ink lasts

I am very happy with my new printer. This machine is a bit of a beast weighing in at 19Kg so i hope you have a large desk or table to house the Pro100 as you really dont want to be hauling it around every time you use it. Build quality is very good, it is a solid good looking machine. Installation is very easy and using ethernet or usb connection the printer produces very acceptable mono prints and well saturated colour prints. I have used Canon papers - gloss and semi gloss and as you would expect the results are very good. Using Ilford Galerie gloss and lustre prints are also very good but i have discovered that matt paper prints lack the snap of other surfaces. Print speed is impressive an A4 colour print takes 1min 25 secs to print with printer set at standard,if set to high quality printing A4 colour or mono take around 2min 25secs. A3 colour prints take around 3mins 45secs to print at high quality settings. The all important ink consumption is very good apart from the two grey inks. I have used two sets of grey inks since mid january with the printer in regular use. If you are looking for an A3 printer the Pro100 is definitely worth a serious look and at around

I just love my new Canon Pixma MX882 all in one printer. Not only does it make laser quality text documents and superb photos, but the flexibility in printing and copying options is just astounding. The Automatic Document Feeder and Auto Duplexer team up to make any combination of single/double sided copies, 1/1, 1/2, 2/2 or 2/1 without operator intervention. It will print from a wireless LAN or wired LAN (but not both at once), USB cable, USB Memory Device, Photo Card, Pictbridge, Bluetooth or direct from camera or cell phone. It has a plain black ink and 4 photo ink cartridges and you can select to print in B&W or color from the copy and print menus so you do not have to waste your black photo ink on plain B&W printing. I have also printed both #10 business and #6-3/4 letter envelopes with good results.It does have a couple of minor shortcomings. The paper tray is a little lightweight and doesn't hold a lot of paper, so a busy home office will have to load paper frequently. The menu screens may be a little daunting at first but this is understandable given the amount of flexibility this printer offers. The simpler tasks are easily figured out and for more arcane tasks, such as setting the number of rings before the FAX machine answers, Canon has provided an excellent easy to use on-screen manual which gives very clear instructions for all user selectable settings.Over all, I rate this as a best buy for an All In One printer. High quality printing, great flexibility, reasonable ink cartridge cost and adequate speed. It is not a high speed or high volume printer, but it is an excellent choice for a home or home office application.

I've been a HP snob for quite a few years, but lately, they've become alcoholics and I got tired of wasting my money on cartridges. I purchased a Canon Pixma 5320, which I have been very happy with. It prints nicely, and had always thought it printed photos beautifully. Having the opportunity to acquire this PRO-100, I couldn't help but jump at the chance, since I do print lots of my own photos. I had recently taken a great picture of a hawk. I printed it on the 5320 and it was gorgeous. I had received a free Shutterfly 11x16 code, so I had the same picture printed up, and it was spectacular. I then received this printer and printed it 8x10. The coloring and detail, compared to the 5320, was night and day. I was shocked to see how much better the coloring was and even the detail of the feathers was much clearer. Compared the PRO-100 photo to the professional Shutterfly print, and while not identical, I preferred the more vibrant coloring of the PRO-100 print over the Shutterfly print!Setup was simple enough.I'm amazed at how heavy this printer is and how large it is. One day I hope to post a pic of my 2 printers side by side, but at the moment, I have this one still at work, due to it's weight & size, and I'll have to make room for it at home.Currently set up on Windows XP SP3 via USB.EDIT: I finally moved this printer to my house where the PC is located on the 1st floor and the printer is set up in the basement. Wireless setup on Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium was easy enough.

For me, this printer loses.I've had it since June and it's finicky and gives me problems. I have a macbook pro, macbook air, and iMac and print everything wirelessly... and That has been the problem. Once a month for about a week and a half my Canon Pixma MX882 decides it doesn't want to work. My computers suddenly can't find it's signal even though they search and search and search. And I check the "status" of the Canon and it says everything is enabled and wireless is working. First I thought it was my computers, perhaps the driver was outdated and needed to be updated, but nope.. I update it and the problem still arises which is a HUGE disappointment. I've contacted their help line and they send the steps on resetting and updating, it has worked once but the two times afterwards they just started getting repetitive.I'm a loyal canon user-- scanner, slr camera and products, etc so of course I wanted to get a Canon printer but geez louise... this thing is just not good. At this point I'm going to head to walmart to buy a cable that connects the printer and my computer so I can at least print all the many things I need to print at this moment, but I'm going to start the process to get this machine replaced... I just pray that they do the right thing and get me a new machine and cover shipping b/c this thing is huge! I actually really regret not sending it back earlier b/c I probably could have sent it back through amazon for a new replacement unit, and let's be honest I trust Amazon more than Canon, but who knows maybe hopefully Canon will do me right and give me top notch service... I'll leap you all updated.Oh, yea and that's another thing... this is a $200 machine, why doesn't it come with a printer/computer usb connection cord??????!!! wtf! Where's the cable dude? Such a LAZY lazy thing to leave out in my opinion. It would cost them what? 5 cents, may 25 cents at MAX to add it to the box... get it together Canon. INCLUDE a printer/computer USB connection cable cord in your box. My Canon MP-560 QUIT (broke)(B200 error). just after two years. Used in a home situation, not business. Until this happened I have been VERY happy with this printer. It printed and scanned well, printed photos on quality photo paper very well. Yesterday it quit just after two years. I loved the individual ink cartridges, which made it more affordable to use, and I have always ordered those from Amazon (and never refilled or generic). Of course, now I am stuck with extra unused ones since Canon no longer makes printers using these particular ones. Did a Google search and found many people have had the same problem, it quits after about two years, just going dead. Error code says printer head went bad, and I have not even used it that much. I ordered a NEW Brother printer to replace it, I will give them a try this time. I still like Canon products but really, a printer should last much longer than two years. It seems the error code is a VERY common problem. Gee, A RECALL WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE.

I'd like to give this printer a 5 star review because it does photo printing brilliantly, but I can't because it sometimes decides to, irritatingly, whirr away for ages before it decides to spit out a printed page. However, it is difficult to fault other wise and is excellent value for money.
I really like Canon stuff but, referring to a previous defunct printer, maybe they should consider how ridiculous a situation it is when a new part (print head) cost

I bought this printer to replace my HP OfficeJet J4680 which has expensive ink & also would frequently not connect to the other machine when trying to send a fax.I use this printer in a home office. It prints up sales receipts, prints photos, scans & faxes documents, I use all the features. My wife connects to it wirelessly to print out coupons & webpages as well, so this printer really sees A LOT of use.Some observations:1) It prints VERY good photos, perfect for 8x10's & smaller... they are photo-real.2) It prints VERY good text, but obviously not as well as a laser.3) It scans & copies EXTREMELY well, as good as any stand alone scanner.4) It faxes very well.The intended market for this is someone who dabbles in a little of all of these aspects, but is predominantly using it for it's color photo printing/scanning capabilities. If this doesn't describe you, then you're not looking at the right class of printers.This is a HUGE printer. I'm going to provide you with the physical footpring (ie how much space you need to actually use it): You need 19" for the width, and it will stick out 23". That depth includes the power cord jutting out & not being crushed up against the wall, and has the paper tray fully extened. Some people may care about height, depending on where they are placing the printer: 8" when closed, 18" with the document lid open fully, 13" when opened to change ink tanks.The reason for the seperate cartridges is two-fold:1. Better photo prints. 2 Blacks - 1 for text & 1 photo black which is a different ink altogether.2. More economical, only change the color that runs out.The 5 separate tanks are an important feature for me. I'm tired of throwing away $45 HP cartridges when I only need a $12 Cyan or $12 Magenta.Some people are stating they have trouble connecting to wireless.. I have had no troubles at all. There is a desktop running Windows 7 that is working flawlessly. There is also a laptop running Vista that is also working flawless, and another laptop running XP that has no problems.Overall, I think this is an EXCELLENT printer, especially at this price point and class.Update for 9/30/11:I've had the printer long enough to run out of blue ink, and it's been a solid performer. Unlike my previous HP, I've had zero trouble when using the fax function, every fax has gone through so far. It's also significantly faster than the HP was, with better looking prints. Very happy with the purchase!Update for 11/13/11:I've now changed out all but 1 of the ink tanks, so as you can see some colors will run out a good month and half or more before other colors.. the seperate tanks is a real $ saver.ALSO... I just found the free Canon android app. You can take photos from your phone & wirelessly print them if you have the app & the printer is connected wirelessly!UPDATE 2/3/13 Have had the printer for well over a year, it's still going strong with no problems at all. Pringint, faxing, & scanning like a champ! Have saved A LOT OF $ by replacing 1 color ink at a time.Bill

It is not as good as earlier Canon printers. When printing double sided it picks up more than one piece of paper making it useless for this type of printing.
