read as many reviews as i could stand and finally decided on this one. so far it hasn't let me down. haven't used it all that much but from what i've printed out so far it hasn't let me down. printed out a couple of pictures and was satisfied with them. takes a bit longer to actually print than i was used to but it has performed to my expectations so far.

This is a good printer for printing. I had an hp for years and I could insert my memory card into it and manipulate the pictures.This does a good job of printing - I would prefer a higher quality of printer for pictures.

This is first time I am writing a product review though I have used consumer reviews for lot of my buying. I figure, it is time to give back a little.1st reason for getting so excited about this product MP495 is the ease with which I could set up wireless (I was dreading it!). I used WPS setting from the manual. There was a minor glitch but it was a cakewalk after I figured that I need to disconnect from VPN; for computer to detect the printer.After setup, I immediately printed, photo copied and scanned the 15% coupon canon flashed on registering with them :) . It was easy to perform these tasks. I am simply loving my decision to buy this good looking product. I had an old Canon PIXMA printer before which did not look pretty and made so much sound.I had bought this model after I couldn't find the HP model at a Walmart. I think at $59 this is a steal. I would have given it a 5-star but considering that I have only used it for 30 minutes only, I will go with 4 stars.

I was looking for a printer like this and finally I got one. Is easy to use, is sturdy and well constructed. Setting up wireless function is a piece of cake. Buy this one because you deserve the best printer in your home or office. 100% recommended.

The MX 882 has many good qualities, but in my opinion efficient ink consumption is not one of them. In addition the cartridges do not hold much ink and are not cheap. Looking at a Consumers' Report (too late) their printers are among the highest cost for ink consumption.

Although a dyed-in-the-wool HP advocate, I recently received the CANON PIXMA color inkjet printer and I am quite pleased with it.A basic, no-frills piece, it does not have the now popular LED screen. Frankly, that screen adds little - if anything - to the product. It is a "quaint" feature but not a make-or-break deal and the PIXMA iX6520 does not need it to prove itself more than fit for the job.Set up is extremely basic and easy. The instructions are clear and "goof proof". Canon has thoughtfully provided the user with ink cartridges. Naturally, following the norm of the day, they do not throw in a USB cable so be aware of this when you purchase the PIXMA iSX6520.The machine operates quietly and extremely fast. The colors are not quite as good as you find on most basic HP products but they do manage to hold their own in the long run. Additionally, the unit gets bonus points for not shaking or rattling.In short, the PIXMA iX6520 inkjet is a very good (and modestly priced) printer.

This is the worst printer I have ever owned. I've had it for less than one year, and the printer started to print crooked, and then suddenly began wadding up every sheet of paper. There is no way to access the printer rollers. I will never buy another Canon printer again.

This printer is a piece of junk. It is supposed to be wireless. Trying to figure out how to set WiFi up is a nightmare. I am pretty computer savvy, but the printer was never found on our WiFi. Had to use USB. There goes the whole point of a wireless printer.It makes too much noise, squeaks...annoying.It does have large ink cartridges, which is far better than HP, but I am not keeping it long enough to find out how long they last. This printer is going back. The paper loads from the back, sticking up in the air, which I hate, instead of from the tray...messy looking. You also have to constantly adjust the paper to keep it in place. As the paper flops backwards, it pulls it out of feed, but when you can get the paper in place, it does print very fast.Envelopes...When I print envelopes, 5 lines show for me to print, only 3 lines print on the envelope! This is a $59 printer for a reason...stay away from it.

I tried to hookup wireless connection and found it almost impossible.Also text cannot be enlarged or cropped.It is an ink hog. I print text maybe 3 or 4 pages a week and the black cartridges do not last very long. This was my first Canon after 8 Lexmark. I love the Lexmark for printing but everyone had paper loading problems after awhile. Paper feed on the Canon is great.

It seems little bigger than most printers, but is a very nice design. Set up went well and it works great. The wireless and double sided printing is really useful. I got it for $150. Also, I like the separate ink cartridges.

After being unable to figure out why no scanner is showing up in Canon's "IJ Network Scanner Selector EX" on my user account in Windows XP, I finally contacted Canon's customer service and got this answer:"Unfortunately, we do not support the use of the MX882 on a non-administrative account."I'm quite disappointed that Canon cannot seem to make a product that allows wireless scanning without requiring admin-rights in this day and age. Using non-admin accounts has been the Best Practice since sometime last millennium. I'm inclined to go with a more professional brand next time again.The printing quality is OK when set to high (far from laser-like though). Printing speed could be better, too.

(Unfortunately) I bought this printer/scanner after reading a few positive reviews, but I find the software almost impossible to use. Whoever wrote it should be flayed. It prints OK, but I set it up to scan to my Mac from the front panel, but now that stopped working. To scan from the computer requires using their totally NON-INTUITIVE "Canon Solution Menu EX", which is just crap. Do NOT buy this printer.

Had a re-branded Dell Lexmark...avoid at all costs. This is a night and day difference. Can stay connected to the network with a hidden SSID under WPA2-TKIP and a...lengthy...pass phrase. Prints fast, good quality goes into and out of stand-by without issue. Basically, leave it on and forget it.The bundle-ware seems a bit much but you can do the basics without having to install anything past the basic drivers/find printer option. Reliable, pain-less and the price was right.

Don't listen to reviewers that claim that this printer is hard to set up! If you can follow instructions on install disc, using included cord when instructed to do so, set up is very simple and fast! No problems whatsoever!!! No passwords to enter or remember, printer install software figures it all out! Nice printer at a bargin price! ---J

I just needed a printer to print occasional airline boarding passes and coupons at home. I do not print alot and so far I am very pleased. I have adjusted the setting so it only prints black and white so I do not waste the color cartridge. The printing is pretty fast and I have no problems so far with jams. The wireless is great, we have it in the laundry room in our house and use a Laptop in the lounge and never have a connection problem. I just hate that I have to plug in the laptop to scan an item, but I understand it needs to transfer data.The cartridge has lasted a while, but I do not print a lot. The cartridges are not cheap, but you will not find a printer anywhere that has cheap cartridges. I have printed a couple of photos and they came out pretty nice, but in all honesty, I still think it's cheaper to get prints online or at walmart by the time you factor in the cost of ink and the photo paper.

The Canon MX340 is an excellent printer for the price. It is easy to set up and get running on a wireless connection and delivers good quality copies. It's a bit slow, but that is to be expected from an all-in-one economy ink jet. When I need to print fast, I use my HP laser printer.The Canon is a good supplement to an office-quality laser printer because it scans, makes copies and will send a fax. This fax capability is especially useful to me because I still have clients who use faxes rather than scanned documents. I have found that it can be difficult to find a good all-in-one printer that includes a fax.Overall, I recommend the MX340 for general use in a small office or for school and home projects.

I have been very pleased since purchasing the MP560 several months ago. Although there are some features lacking, the printer represents an excellent value in the price range, and suits my needs perfectly. The printer is used in a home office / small business environment, and is used mostly for printing text and copying, with occasional use as a scanner and photo printer. Set up was simple, but I do not use this as a wireless printer. I have found the overall print quality to be very good with both text and graphics, and photos. Although I did try some adjustments, the default settings were acceptable. Ink usage does seem a bit high, but not unacceptably so, at least for my amount of use. My one complaint with this printer is not being able to set black and white printing as a default. There is a 'greyscale' setting, but not as a default. There may be a way to do this, but I have not yet found out how. The design and construction of the printer is excellent: the location of controls and receptacles is logical, operation is intuitive, and replacement of individual ink cartridges is straightforward. The case is nicely finished, doors and trays open and close smoothly, and operating noise is acceptable. Attention was obviously given to design and aesthetics. The printer closes up completely when not in use, helping keep the control panel and platen dust-free, and if left closed,the out-feed tray drops open automatically when starting to print. A fax and and a document feeder have been left off, but they are not really missed with my use. A document can be scanned and e-mailed if necessary, and document feeders on printers in this price range never seem to work well anyway. Ink usage does seem a bit high, but not unacceptably so, at least for my amount of use. Overall, the MP560 is a great printer for the price: well constructed with good printing quality.

I wouldn't purchase this printer. My computer doesn't recognize it 99% of the time and trying to store scans(when it does work) is nearly impossible. I have only had this printer for a short while but I am most likely going to donate it and hope others have better luck with it than me.

The printer is amajor upgrade over my older DELL AIO 922. It slooks sleeker and better blends in with my computer theme. The printer does have wifi printing, although I have not tried it yet. I will be using it in the future.I think though the printer is a bit on the noisier side and takes a while to actually print. With that in mind, turning the printer off, produces some prolonged noise until it shuts off at the end.

This is a very good printer, but I find duplex printing to be inconvenient as you have to remove the paper & then place it back in the tray CORRECTLY to print the second side. Other than that, we are very pleased with the printing including photos.

Overall, it's a great little all-in-one for it's price point. Though I have not yet printed photos, it prints great and fast, scans well, and the wireless feature is easy to set up and wonderful! The only thing, unless I just can't figure it out, is when scanning multiple pages, it gives you multiple files. If only there was a way to merge them each into one document.Also, ink replacement costs about as much as buying a new printer. When will manufacturers fix this? Probably never since that is where they make their money. But great little printer for the money. I use it infrequently for home use.

Great product and clean printing. I have not tried printing any photos yet so I cannot give my opinion for that as far as document printing, images come out clear and crisp. The only thing I do no like about this printer is that when it starts to warm up for printing it sounds very clunky and loud.

I set up this printer so that I could use it wirelessly from my Mac and from my kids' older Mac. It occasionally works great. More often than not I have to re-enter the wifi network password and/or unplug and restart it and/or try a variety of different set-ups for it to work. It rarely prints for my kids' computer (both computers and the printer sit in the same room together). I've only been able to scan directly to my computer once--the rest of the time I need to scan to a thumb drive and insert that into my computer. The few times I have printed photos on photo paper, they did look fabulous. But for the headache of trying to figure out what went wrong in the settings since the last time the printer worked (sometimes I don't print for a couple of weeks at a time), I'm ready to throw it in the trash.

This is my second Canon Pixma printer... the first was the all in one (with fax) and it crapped out after 2.5 years... and now this one. Overall it's not that bad... a little finicky at times and the wifi can be a pain in the butt to sync (not overly compatible with a Mac) but it does print clear, quick and concise... I've only had it for a couple of weeks but I can say its' one of the best printers for this price I've ever used.

Let me say right off that I love Canon products. I have two professional video cameras that are Canons because I feel that the image quality can't be beat. This is what made me lean toward a Canon printer once my Epson died off.I have to say that the print quality is really good. If you use good paper, you will get very detailed and vivid pictures which is wonderful considering the price of this printer.Another plus is that it is so quiet you will hardly even know it's working. My Epson could be heard for miles, it seemed.Overall, great printer for a great price. The only drawback I can see is that you will be paying an arm and a leg for the ink considering that for the cost of two or three cartridges, you could buy another printer. Having said that, ink tends to be a bit pricey for printers that produce good quality photos and documents so what can you do? Buying it on Amazon sure does help!*****I have now owned the above printer for several months. I changed my review from 4 to 3 stars because the ink issues are ridiculous and frustrating. The only thing you can buy is THE VERY cartridge that Canon sells for this. I guess this is fair on some level, but I'm not used to NOT being able to refill my own ink cartridges or buying off brands since I'm not made of money. I am probably going to unload this at my garage sale and get something else. Too bad because the pictures and overall printing quality is really good. Will try to find another Canon.

In my experience, vastly superior to the HPs.I've spent way way too much time over the last few weeks thinking about and monkeying with printers...(see my HP printer review if interested in my trials and tribulations)--and add to it...that I was unable to successfully align the print on the second one (the first had faulty touch pad and other issues)...and the wireless function simply would not work on either (I suspect just incompatible, not defective).In summary...against my better judgement, I recently attempted to buy and install an HP printer (a 4780 all in one)...two defective units and many many wasted hours later...I took back the HP and went looking for a Canon (based on the positive reviews here)...I went and bought this...with a full supply of ink...which ended up to be slightly more expensive...but...at that point I just wanted something that would work...and if the wireless actually worked in my setup, that would be a bonus!Suffice to say...I'm very pleased with this unit...much less bloatware (it seems), better looking, quality feel, dual paper feeds (so can always keep photo paper in), duplex (save paper for ink funds), good picture and doc quality, and was able to set up printer including wireless (with my mac/airport extreme set up) in a very reasonable amount of time. Time will tell how economically and well the printer and ink systems work...but so far I'm pleased. I wouldn't put my life on it...but the only area I think the HP edged this one out is print and photo quality...but not by much...and the quality is more than adequate for my (and I suspect most people's) needs...pictures look very good...documents too. Is ever so slightly better print/photo quality worth enduring the HP's shortcomings?....No way, not to me!Getting rid of the hp was like ending a really really bad relationship...I just wanted it to be done...I almost threw the 15% stocking fee at the clerk...just to end it quicker! (He was very cool and wasn't going to charge anyway...because of the units being defective...but, you get the visual)One pleasant surprise, I actually like the bundled software...it make printing pictures very easy.I'm now delighted with Canon printers ...and will never look back.

Ordered for my mom and it was a nightmare. She had to send the original back as her first one was DOA. The second one was very temperamental and Cannon refused to take it back since they replaced her brand new one with a refurbished model. This is outrageous! You pay for a new printer and it is DOA then it is replaced with a used model and can't be returned for a refund since it also does not work. I won't be buying Cannon ever again.

Even though it comes up in the search on Amazon for AirPrint....this one is NOT. Read the fine print. This printer has "mobile print" which you have to download an app that will only print photos from your iPad or iPhone.

Don't bother getting this if you have to have a wireless connection. Hooked my new iMAC up and can't make a wireless connection. Directions are horrible--perhaps the worst I've found. No help troubleshooting; googled it and found that this is a common problem. Works fine with cable so that's what I'll use since I'm too lazy to package it up and return it. No more Canons unless/until they figure this out.

I bought this printer specifically to print out photos on large paper (A3+) .It prints brilliantly. Isn't an ink hog. And at the price I paid, you can't get a better deal.Sure, it doesn't have to many fancy extras like LCD screens or wi-fi connectivity. But if you're serious about printing quality, get this thing.

I owned several Canon PIXMA (MP240 and MP270)during the past two years. They are inexpensive and have two large ink cartridges, one for black and the other for color, which are reasonably priced and last longer than similar Epson or HP cartridges. Other reviewers have described the many features of this scanner/printer. I want to alert the MP240 owners to an error message and solution that is not described in the MP240 printer manual.The scenario goes like this: You turn on the printer and it does not print. After making a lot of noise, it displays P8 on the printer display and Error code 5200 on your computer screen suggesting that you turn off the printer, unplug it and restart the printer. After trying this several times and searching the Internet for answers, you may think about junking the printer and buying another. Before you do this, try replacing the ink cartridge. My MP240 is set for gray scale. I only use it for black and white text printing. I have another photo printer for my color prints. But the MP240 printer seems to need a functioning color cartridge.So before you throw out this otherwise good printer or pay for a repair, try replacing the color cartridge. I have not encountered this problem on my MP270 yet. Perhaps Canon improved the software.

There's not much to say about this printer. Which is a good thing.Set up was easy, with simple easy to install instructions. I've only used the software that has come with the printer and have had no issues with it. It comes with ink, which is a bonus. I did have to use my own USB cable, it didn't come with one. The end print results were good.I wasn't blown away, but I am completely satisfied

Pros: Wireless! Not too loud while printing Nice print quality Doesn't have a gazillion cartridges not too $$ Printer tray opens automatically before printing instead of throwing a message or being dumb and crumpling paper. Scanner quality is nice Save to USB drive option Maintains a stable wireless connection (Yet to see a situation where I had to reset/power cycle it).Cons: First time use is a little tricky. Especially for people who haven't set up a wireless printer before. Documentation is bad. I haven't had a wireless AIO before, so don't know about others, but scanning on this thing is weird. You place the sheet you need to scan, then select where the scanned image should be stored, press Scan and then press Black/Color. It took me a while to figure this out. The LCD display is not back-lit. I mean seriously! Come on! I know this isn't on the expensive side, but I think in 2010, back-lit displays should be considered minimum expectation. (If you want a neat color display get the one that costs some $30 more, other features are common). Crappy software. Network scan tool sucks!Other thoughts: Great once you set it up and works without having to change things around each time. Definitely not grandma usable. Your illiterate parents could use it if you set it up for them. LOLGet this if you want wireless printing with occasional scanning without having to spend big $$. Skip if you need to scan a lot and print less. The scan and save over network feature is so slow I grew a beard, and I was only 2 when I began! :(

Awesome... f you like to buy ink every couple of months. I bought it for my daughter for college. All she prints is her papers (essays) plus the paperwork for her classes (since colleges don't print anything anymore). It seems every 3-4 months we're having to replace the cartridges and nothing works until you replace the cartridge. She prints very little color but the cyan, magenta & yellow constantly need changing as well. I'm wondering if these little cartridges dry up and don't show they have ink in them. Cannon said to keep the printer on all the time because the printer cleans itself every time you turn it on. Tried that and it didn't seem to help much.**Just a warning on cost of ink - $55 for all 5 cartridges needed on Amazon - more $ in local retail stores.

I am a techie, tried all possible solutions. Does not connect via wireless. Printer gets the IP address. However Windows PC(XP,Win 7) does not see the printer. Wi-fi signal strength is good/excellent.Finally contacted Canon. They are neither sucecessful in getting this connected nor helpful in providing a solution.Planning to return..

I already own a similar but lower-priced Canon all-in-one wireless printer with the same functions. The main difference is that my lower-priced printer uses only two ink cartridges, one for black and one for color. This one uses five different ink colors. The point of having more ink colors is to produce better looking photos and this definitely delivers. Photos printed on the high quality setting have more color and detail when used with Canon photo paper. Since I've only made a few prints only time will tell about how many prints you can get from these ink cartridges which can affect how much you end up spending down the road. For the other features the wireless is great. Very easy to set up and nice to have no cable mess. The copy function works perfect. Just place your document on the bed, press copy and you're done. Scan quality is also very good. I don't use the fax so no opinion on that. A great printer, having used many Epson printers, I am definitely sold on these Canon all-in-ones. Incredible value for the price. Recommended.

I should start by saying I'm not a Technophile. I enjoy having up-to-date technology, but I don't seek out the latest and greatest. For me, the most important thing is ease of use. As a result, I've split my review into the 3 most important categories for me:1) Ease of Set-UpThis was very easy to set up. Just a few easy steps between getting it out of the box and having it ready to go. (LOL - I had more problems opening the box than setting up. Yes, I admit this, albeit with a certain amount of shame.)2) Ease of UseOkay, to be fair, I've never had a printer that was hard to use. LOL - it's usually "click here" and you're done. However, it's easy to use, easy to load the paper, etc.3) Quality of OutputI don't use a printer for business. I use it at home to print directions, coupons, coloring pages for my daughter, etc. The quality of the print jobs seems fine for home use. This is a very simple printer, easy to use and works great! I set it up last night and printed out a few pictures they turned out great!

It has been more than 2 months since I bought this printer and so far so good.It prints good, scan good all wirelessly.. I'm satisfied for the price I paid.Whatever printer you buy, the cartiledge inl is going to dry away.

Ужасно

I have been using this printer for the past 3 months but decided today to write a review for it after seeing someone else with a different canon wireless printer in action. This printer is noisy and takes a long while before it is able to start printing. I guess I got what I paid for.

Ужасно

Purchased the canon pix a mx882 because of the excellent reviewsNot very compatible with my Mac productsI may be spoiled by the simplicity of apple products,out of the box and ready to use in a matter of minutesUnfortunately Canon printer not ready for prime timePacked it up after hours of frustration
