Very good price for this type of quality photo printer. Instructions clear and easy to understand.
The print quality is certainly excellent, especially for the price, however, the functionality of the printer is very inconsistent. Often, it will not print at all, getting stuck in a loop without printing, and, even worse, will frequently printer half a page, which is especially annoying if you are printing on photo paper. This has so far occurred in about 50% of cases.
I would certainly not recommend this printer, the low price comes at the expense of reliability.
In the end I succeeded by physically linking the printer to my router using the USB cable provided, holding the 'maintenance' button then pressing the 'Fit to page' button. I then found the printer recognised in my iPad. I then disconnected the USB cable and found the printer is still recognised and works wirelessly using AirPrint. I tried this - despite the Canon and BT help desks telling me this is not a solution. I hope this experience helps others who may have a similar problem.
Trying to use any other dedicated app for printing on cd, is just not possible : printing offset is just 2/3rd of the cd surface..
Canon cannot explain.. Can someone here explain?
Thank you
I did later find a slip of paper telling me this but it was not with the quick start guide or the manuals but was under the warranties so it did not help, but now it works I can say nothing but it is great and it DOES work with I phones, I pads and air drop printing which Is so helpful and the price was a bargain for this type of machine.
printouts are very good cannot get the wireless set up to work though
From the prints i had i was impressed although as others have said, the ink use is astronomical. The front loading paper tray worked well too. It also looks nice although please bare in mind it is quite a large printer. Please also note the USB cable, should you plan to use it is VERY short so unless your printer is right next to your computer, you'll need another one. However, as mentioned, unfortunately it just didn't work and my main reason for being disgruntled is Canon's lack of customer service.
The firmware in the printer didn't allow it to keep a wireless connection, meaning not only would i spend anywhere between 1 and 2 hours setting it up in the first place with multiple issues along the way, once it was set up, i would print one thing and it would lose the connection. The solution to keep uninstalling and re-installing given by Canon did not work and although they provided me with other ways of trying to tackle this issue, such as a static IP address nothing worked. After almost 2 weeks of issues and with no printer or promised return call from Canon, it was suggested i take it to my nearest repairer who was over an hour away. I would have to wait for it to be fixed / replaced, goodness knows how long this would take and i was responsible for getting it there or paying the delivery charges. I find it disgusting that I am expected to pay anything towards a product that arrived faulty in the first place.
Thankfully Amazon came to my rescue and have accepted the return of the item with a full refund. I'm whole heartily disappointed especially as I'm a professional photographer who has spent 10's of thousands of pounds with Canon in the past 8 - 10 years of my career. Their attitude towards the situation is really, what sealed the deal. I will not be buying another Canon printer - back to Epson!
First print off was excellent. Now using some Permajet papers and profiles and colour repro is pretty good.
I don't have a colour calibrator so just use the default Mac colour settings.
It's a very large and heavy printer a need plenty of desk space.
I don't see why they have put ban other single feed paper tray at the back; I use the normal tray for single and multi feed. With multiple papers in the normal tray it's in fact difficult to get to the rear tray unless you can walk round the back of the machine.
But that apart it prints great. And the small supplied cartridges are lasting well, must have done a couple of dozen full A4's and still showing plenty of ink.
I would recommend.
4 Stars only because of unnecessary rear tray (IMO)
She's happy I am happy, it produces great pictures very quickly and also acts as a seamless duplex wireless printer, has a separate tray for different sizes of prints [other than the standard A4] plus a separate carrier to print to discs.
All in all BRILLIANT.
Waiting to see how long the inks last.
It was nice to be able to buy just a plain printer and not an all in one. I already have a very good scanner, which the all in ones don't come anywhere near as regards resolution.
The "Low Ink" icon should be incorporated into the Canon logotype – brand new ink cartridges and hey presto – 3 black and white prints and my Yellow has run out again!
It's either that or "no paper", when the paper tray is full.
Just a huge frustration – save yourself the angst and the money and but a proper printer.
Having said this, the Canon Pixma iP7250 does give excellent print results, very rarely jams, and is easy to replenish with paper or fresh ink cartridges.
Two paper cassettes it may have, but when you want to use ordinary A4 in one and headed notepaper A4 in the other, you then discover that the upper cassette takes photo-sized paper not A4 - and there's no back-feeder like there was on the IP4300. I spent ages on the phone to Canon who Can do lots of things but who CANNOT sell me a spare bottom paper cassette, for heaven's sake!
Connected it to my router via wi-fi. Had so many problems making it work at all - let alone properly - that eventually I went back to a good old USB lead which is a shame as I'd have like to airprint from my ipad, too.
The built in programs might be some use to people who have all the time in the world to edit and set up photos for printing. But what with the hassle and the cost of inks it's cheaper and easier to take your SD card to Asda.
Turn it on? It takes ages to decide it's actually going to do you the honour of printing something. Turn it off at the mains - like I always did my IP4300 - and next time you start it, it complains that you didn't follow the correct switching-off procedure. LIfe's too short..
I scoured Amazon, e-bay and Which to find another printer with 2 optional A4 paper feeds at under about
If you are thinking about it, in my view you can not go wrong.Yes it is heavy, but it is solidly built.
Twin cassettes for paper (plain and photo), super easy set up on Mac OSX.
For me it's everything I need a printer to be for home office and quick photo prints as proof or home/family use.
Those are the only negative thoughts, plus points, good value, excellent print quality, very easy wireless set up.
This one needed Windows 8 ,,and My computer is Windows 7 /Does that affect in any case the working of the machine.
I installed the machine however,, after Step 3---there appeared the letter E and a flashing sign which means something wrong in
the connection.
All other details are Good.
Can you help inreplying
