Absolutely love this camera.For a potential buyer, it is more important to read negative reviews, rather that the ones where people write stuff to feel better about themselves.So, what is not perfect about S200:-quite expensive extra battery, though very long lasting-weak flash-tripod mount not centred (hard to get the accurate position with small tripods)-software (not pretty, not functional, at least for me)-expensive accesories (like waterproof case, but at least there is one)

I recveived this as a gift for christmas. I originally was hoping to get the Nikon 2500 but htis is far superior in a number of ways. It takes 15 sec bursts of uncompressed AVI video with sound!! The video looks great. Strait out of the box I was taking pictures, I have a Canon SLR so the interface was a breeze didn't even need to crack the manual. Everything you need comes with it except I would suggest buying a second battery and a 128Mb flashCard, definatly worth it. Hooking the camera up to your TV to watch your videos is just two steps, and your watching. The pictures this camera turns out are amazing, you can customize everything on the fly, film speed, auto exposuring, you name it this is the only choice in my opinion for under 400 bucks. Canon is the only way to go and this proves it.

If you buy this printer, you'll spend most of your time cleaning the ink jets and going to the store and buying refills. This is the worst electronic product I have ever purchased. I wish I could give it zero stars.

Thanks for the fast shipping, Amazon. Liked this printer so far, the printing is fine. I like to print my millions of reading articles in draft ink setting and this printer gives a greyish print when set to that mode, my eyes are okei with it, in fact, it gave me the good feeling that it is helping me saving ink! A little noisy that is, and oh Canon, next time please include a USB cable. [I had to purchase that separately] It was a good thing this printer is inexpensive here in Amazon.

I looked around at a lot of printers and bought this one because of price, the reviews from others and the cost of replacement ink tanks (cheap). The printer is fast, quiet and has excellent quality printing. Two complaints. The printer driver would not download to my hard drive from the CD. But they have a free download center at Canon and that worked great and fixed the problem. The other is the rebate. I bought this because of the price ...The printer is great...

I recently purchased this camera from Amazon.com and I am very impressed. This is my very first camera that I've owned so I'm still reading the manual but so far it has worked very well. The photo quality is amazing. The only thing that I think could be better is the battery life. I charge mine about once a day but it charges completely in only 2 hours. I have been very pleased.

This is a very nice camera that is slightly larger than the S230, but includes a higher zoom(3X compared to 2X in the S230) capability and higher still photo resolution(4MP compared to 3 MP in the S230). I was surprised to find that Canon eliminated the hi resolution(640 X 480) video capability in the S400 though. I found the hi-res video mode in the S230 to be very useful. But, the highest resolution(320 X 200) offered by the S400 is too grainy to be very useful.

Purchased this last year for around $325 or so. This is a great little camera, fits neatly in the palm and is fairly easy to get used to. Pictures are superb, for the price is a great camera, no plastic, all metal body. I have a 35mm Minolta that I left home for my recent trip to Maui and have no regrets. This is a great camera for a non professional

I had been looking to buy a new printer for quite some time. After much comparative shopping and research, I decided to purchase the i850. This is one great printer!!! I continue to be amazed at the quality of the photo printing-definitely photo lab quality! The quality of text and graphics is far better than I was lead to believe after reading "expert" reviews. Ink usage is great compared to other printers (HP,Epson, Lexmark) that I have owned. For absolutely top notch printing from photos to text, this machine has no peer in its price range. Spending any more money on any other printer would be foolish.

The print quality for text is decent, speed is excellent, the price for ink is unbeatable. But surely it's not a photo printer(don't expect for this price). The bad thing is it's very noisy, I set it to quiet mode but it's still loud, it periodically screams no matter you print or not, and shakes the table. I wonder why Cannon put that much power for a small printer?My old printer was a Lexmark Z25, it's an ink hog and catridge is 3 times more than the Cannon. So I can live with all the noise.

When my HP 895 bit the dust, I replaced it with the Canon i850 because I liked the idea of separate ink cartridges. I've had the Canon for about a month, and so far, the cartridges are holding out. However, I'm disappointed with the photo print quality compared to my old HP. With the HP, I got true photo quality. The Canon just doesn't quite measure up. I wish I liked it better because I'm going to be using it for a long time, but the print quality just isn't there.

I bought my camera about 8 months ago and it has travelled to about 7 countries since! The size is perfect to travel with and the pictures come out great-even in bad light, with the light compensation feature of course. All other problems can be corrected using the Canon Zoombrowser software.I only wish I could find the right cover/bag for it. For whatever reason it isn't available in the US; when I found one in Europe it was priced at 38 Euro!

Okay, I haven't had that many ink jet printers but I do graphic design and have worked with color lasers and this little inkjet beats them. I'm sitting here with a photo printed out borderless 4x6 that came out 15 seconds after hitting PRINT. This is a 9MB file on a USB 1.1 connection and it looks like it came from the lab. Stunning color, no dots, and perfect resolution. Caveat -- you have to print on the nice, glossy, photo paper but that's the case with all inkjets to get this quality. Set up was a breeze and the instructions are very clear. The software is easy to use and necessary to get your prints right. BUT -- Don't forget to get a cable because it doesn't come with one (as most printers don't.)Ink cartidges are all separate so if one gets low you replace just that cartridge. Since I just got it I can't tell you how long they last, but I can say:BUY THIS PRINTER!

We own a Canon i850 and were pleased with the price. Initially. But once we used it regularly, we found that the paper feed is erratic and we have to babysit print jobs to make sure the paper is feeding. This occurs when the paper supply is full, nearly empty and all points in between. We also find that the printer is slow and that we have problems with ink cartridges not working, even when new.

For light to medium loads, you can't beat this printer. Good shading and color, although not quite as crisp with black text as I first thought, but certainly, decent small business quality for documents. It is quiet to operate, the single-type ink cartridges make it cheap to operate (compared to the one piece HP format, which you have to replace when you run out of a single color!) and most important, Canon keeps up on the drivers, so they are up-to-date. We run a Windows and Mac shop, and Epson,with their alwaysout-of-date drivers is the bane of our existance. The USB Canon S520 is hooked to the new Macintosh and works flawlessly. They had the new 10.2 (Jaguar) drivers out fairly quickly, and this is actually a good test for Windows users, also. The Mac universe is much smaller, so putting out drivers on a timely basis to this much smaller universe of customers shows an attention to detail in customer satisfaction that Epson is currently lacking.Nice job, Canon!

I own the i850 and its exellent and I like the idea of individual tanks.The printer is extremely fast and the quality of photos are perfect but text is a bit fuzzy on regular paper.Im glad I bought this printer because its quiet fast has exellent quality affordable and easy to manage.One more thing I'd like to warn that its not that good when you print photos from ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENT 2.0 because the black of the photo has lines just print it with another company.Furthermore this printer is exellent I recommend it for everyone.

With a baby on the way I wanted a more convient way to take pictures and share multiple copies of them with the family. I bought a 4 megapixal camera and needed a great printer to make hard copies. This printer makes photo lab quality 4x6" photos in under a minute. I see no difference between ones taken with a 35mm and developed at a store then the ones I printed out. It is much quieter then my previous Canon BJ-4300 and light years ahead in quality. The individual tanks are very cost effective too. The software included even made a low resolution digital print (about 20 kb) come out very nice at 4x6". You can see all your photos and send multiple copies to the printer. It also does regular printing of letters very quickly. Highly recommend!!

This is my first color printer and I didn't think this tiny printer would do anything and thought only color laser printers would produce photo quality. Was I wrong!!! I was totally shocked at the quality. I have a digital camera and have printed dozens of pictures. Most of my relatives think that I have had my 8 x 10 photos professionaly developed. The only negative comment is that I had to go out and buy printer cables since they were not supplied with the printer. Be sure to use the best quality photo paper. I have a HP LaserJet 4P printer and I have turned it off. The Canon i550 prints faster than it does.

Great size -- I make photographs more often because this is easy to carry. Great pictures -- for the sake of file size, I don't need more than 2 Mbyte. Good ruggedness -- the metal case protects the camera well and looks good. Bad battery life -- I have two rechargeable batteries and usually need both to fill up a 32 MByte compact-flash card with about 50 photos using the LCD display. I recognize that the small size of the camera is made possible by smaller batteries, and smaller batteries mean shorter battery life, but the battery life limits the usefulness of the camera.

This is by far the best camera I have ever bought. It is my first digital camera, and it's performance far exceeds the performance of my past film cameras. For its size and price, this camera is excellent. Compared to the S330, I would buy the S330, but I couldn't afford it when I bought this.The GoodTakes great motion pictures - I took a picture of my fan while it was moving, and the picture came out as if it were still!Size - Nice and small, but big enough that me, with larger hands, can still operate itMovie Mode - Don't buy the camera for this mode, but it's a great toy to fool around withSturdy - Even though it's small, it feels toughThe BadIncluded CF - Only 8meg card. That's only about 12 pics. I purchased the Canon i850 two weeks ago, and as surprised i was to see it on the web, i was more surprised when I had it. [ for extreamly cheap] its a big treat. However, I've always have problems on my computer for hiding my personal and porny pictures, so I downloaded a software called "Folder Lock" by searching at download.com, what a wonderful software, it can hide and lock all your porny pictures, movies and personal files in a second so no one can access it but you. Because it password protects the whole folder and not only a single file. I would recommend you to use "Canon i850" with "Folder Lock"

Love this camera -- Have taken over 1,000 photos with Cannon S200 during two vacation trips to NYC. I run the camera full out (1meg/picture), carry two 256M cards, and recharge my battery every night.Pro -- Tiny, takes very good pictures, easy to use, fast. Extra praise for Vivid mode (my standard mode), lithium-ion battery (good for two days), included battery recharger (very light weight and no cable), orient switch (no rotated pictures), +/-2EV exposure adjust, Stitch mode (panorama photos), camera settings encoded into .jpg file, and good night photo capability (1s auto, 15s manual with noise reduction).Con -- Getting pictures from the memory card to the computer can be trouble. On my Windows ME the (autostarting) download wizard stopped when it hit a movie file. Copying from a card reader resulted in rotated images. The fix is to download the memory from the camera with Windows explorer or Cannon ZoomBrowser. Comes with only a wrist strap.

We bought this printer last night, and had it figured out, along with the software, in less than an hour. It prints great photo's from our digital camera, they look like proffesional pics!I searched for a long time for a printer, going over reviews for the lexmark, canon, and hp brands. I also looked into the multi machines. We decided to get them separate, since we could only afford to do one right now. I don't regret it at all. This is a great value!

I purchased the Canon i850 on recommendation from the Canon rep that I met in a store. Well......this is the best printer I have ever seen for [its price].The colors are superb, and the B&W print looks like it came from a laser. The set-up instructions are on a separate sheet, and worked the first time. I loaded the software on my mac, and printed within minutes. Photos printed on 4x6" glossy paper look like they came from a professional photo lab.Word of warning. The image software that comes with the printer works a bit too well. When you first start it up, it finds ALL images in the folder you direct it to, and immediately displays them on the screen so you can choose which ones to print. It found a couple of images that, ahem, I did not want anyone else to see. Oh well, I guess they didn't belong on my hard drive anyway?!?All in all, an excellent printer and software combo. You will enjoy it too.

I Love this camera!!!! I had been using my fathers 100 model of the elph (which is no longer made) and fell in love. I have taken the best pictures of my son and the color and clarity at a 5x7 print is just wonderful. I purchase another canon, the A40, slightly cheaper (with the same abilities as the S200), yet returned it and paid more for THE SIZE of Canon S200. I can put this in my purse(an evening purse) and take pictures in places that I wouldnt want to lug a camera case to.

The other reviews have said enough about the cool features and good image quality of this entry-level digital camera. I just want to emphasize its excellent quality. My family has a total of three digital cameras by Canon and also a Rebel SLR bought years ago, and all exhibit the highest level of quality control. You can't go wrong with a Canon.

... That said, I'm very happy with this printer. Other reviews, like the one on C|Net, have faulted the printer for mediocre text printing. I can't really address that complaint...have a laser printer for text and only use the S830 for printing photos and I'm very, very happy with how it performs that function. It's fast, I like being able to replace the ink cartridges separately, supports Exif if your digital camera outputs the encrypted data and the pictures are indistinguishable from those printed conventionally. It's the perfect color printer for my advanced amateur needs.

Wow, I picked this up based on the Amazon feedback and am not disappointed at all. I'm a pretty jaded computer user, and was not a fan of a longer ago Canon I had, but after my Lexmark died on me and it was time to upgrade, I gave this one a shot. Easy to install, and without a doubt, there's absolutely fantastic true photo quality prints from this. Get yourself some glossy photo paper and print your high res photos on it, and you will not be disappointed.The speed is incredible as well. I laughed in amazement at the speed that simpler text with minimal pictures came out. And a full size highest quality photo print came out in less than a minute.There's absolutley no smudging and when you put your eye next to the pictures, you'd be hard pressed to complain about the studio quality.The software that comes with it makes it really easy to package photos, too, enabling you to choose, let's say 4 photos to print in unison on the same page with the borders already set in. It's a great printer for a novice that wants something easy to use, or a performance nut like me that expects extremely high quality. It comes with ink so you can wait a bit to buy some on your own. You'll just need to get your own USB cable, but those are easy enough to snatch up.Way to go, Canon!

Thank you Amazon.com. Read the reviews, ordered and here in 4 days and no shipping costs. Excellent service. The printer is excellent. Easy to set up, very quiet and gives truly excellent results. Replaced an HP Desk-jet 952 (noisy and tempermental!)which expired on its warrantee anniversary! The Canon is far superior and the separate ink cartridges is a great idea. I have had a number of Canon BJ printers and all are (note the present tense!) excellent - don't know why I bothered with HP and will never again!

I've had my Canon S200 for a month. I have 3 main problems with the camera. #1- The Zoom. 2x zoom is just about like having no zoom at all. Forget the 2.5 digital zoom, it makes the pictures too fuzzy. #2- It has problems in low- light situations. I often have to use photo editing software to brighten up pictures. #3- The display is not very clear. For the same amount of money, I wish I had gone with the Fuji Finepix 2800. It has the 6x optical zoom with a much clearer display. With that said, it is a very small camera. Slip it in your pocket and no one has to know that you're a tourist. Also, the video with sound is very cool. With a 128 MB card and up you can store many video clips (up to 60 seconds per clip depending on what you're filming. Complex backgrounds such as trees will eat up the time quicker then if you were videoing sky). Also the software that comes with the Canon is very easy to use and the video software is neat too. I've heard people complain about the battery life but I took a whole weekend of videos and pictures with the display on without having to charge it. So it boils down to: if you're looking for the small size, go with the Canon. If you're looking for zoom in the same price range as the Canon, go with the Finepix 2800.

Bought this for the combination of speed and color print quality. It's fast enough, once it gets going. Sometimes it spends alot of time thinking before it starts to print. Probably doing some auto-calibration peculiar to Canon bubblejet technology. I should read the manual, but I don't really have to. This is a great printer; was easy to set up; makes great color prints, but more importantly for me, it's fast (used in a home office).

I read every review I could get my hands on about this camera and am glad I did, because everyone is right about the S200, it is great. Some reviewers said you couldn't turn off the flash, well you can. The camera comes with a good user guide and also good software. I was shooting pictures in about 15 min. and downloading to my computer in about a hour. This is my 2nd digital camera and it is far superior to my 1mp HP 100 which 2 years ago cost me about the same. The s200 elph has a nice solid feeling. I feel that I have made an excellent choice in digital photograpy.

I almost purchased the model in the latest consumer reports but saw this one in someone else's response. So on a whim, i checked out this one and was glad to see such rave reviews. I waited today for the UPS man to see if all the hype was true. well now i am a believer, this thing is AWESOME. Fast, clear, sleek, easy to use and does text superbly for me. The only gripe i had was that a USB cord was not included. I remedied that with a trip to wal-mart for one. I did find out that the staples 4x6 picture paper (100sheets for 17 bux) and it does just fine.

It took a lot of searching before I decided to purchase a good printer and this one is a great one. The pictures are clear and they print fast. I showed them to friends and didn't tell them that I printed them at home and they were very surprised when I told them. Spend the extra money and get a good printer. This printer also include photo ink, which is really needed for a clean print. Make sure you also get the right paper.

I had a Lexmark and it died so I decided to buy a new color printer. I've always been happy with the HP products (I have a HP LaserJet 3 and 5P) and was looking at their color printers at Fry's. I looked at a print on the printer next to the HP I was looking at and saw the quality. I was amazed! A Canon rep was there and said that it came from the i850. He did another print and that sold me! The quality is excellent for using for colors. Most photo printers use six colors. The best thing is the cartridges are inexpensive and if one color goes out, you just replace that color, as each color is individual. I have been using this printer for a month now and friends cannot tell the difference between a print from the i850 or from a processed print. I highly recommend this printer.

I have only been using this printer for a couple of weeks, but so far the results are excellent. I printed a photo on Canon's glossy paper from a JPG emailed to me. It looks like a professionally processed photo. Text printing is also excellent. Set up was very easy. If I had to come up with any CONs, it would be that once you have issued the print command, it seems to take a while for it to start printing, although this is not a problem for me. I recommend it.

I took me a while to decide between this camera and the PowerShot S330. I prefer the S330 for the way it looks and feels and for the fact that it allows to manually set the shutter speed. I also like that feature that allows you to add voice memos to pictures taken. The reason why I decided for the PowerShot S200 in the end is pocketability. Although the S200 isn't much smaller in terms of inches, it feels a lot smaller than any other digital camera I have held in my hands so far. I have had the S200 for a week now, and I just love it! I had it with me almost everywhere I went. It even fits into a shirt pocket without feeling too heavy! That was my main reason for buying a digital camera anyways, I wanted to be able to bring it with me wherever I go. The picture quality is o.k., as long as you don't zoom in too much they are fine. I only store my pics on my pc and email them to people once in a while or post some pics online. If I would want to make prints, I'd go for a camera with more megapixels. But for prints I have a trusted Canon EOS 600 35mm.For the PowerShot S200 I also bought a small carrying case that clips on my belt as well as a spare battery. I'm also going to buy a flash-card reader. Oh, and of course I bought a 256MB Compact Flash Card. So, it was quite an investment, but I love this camera, and it's size is just amazing.

I will keep it short. I purchase this printer because of it's price, but when I recieved shipment and install it and used it the 1st thing out of my mouth was wow........... fast and quiet operation. I recomend anyone looking for a printer consider purchasing the canon S520 you will not regret it.

Camera very good but shutter [is bad]. When flashing you have to press the button for an annoying length of time. Seems variable too so it is very hard to guess when it will go and get a moving subject. Also even when you have the flash turned totally off the red eye reduction small pre flash still goes off totally ruining the element of surprise. It takes very good low light no flash pictures. I am thinking of just duck taping over the flash window. But other than this it is a fine little camera and a lot of fun. I think it takes great pictures. TORDI have no use for a ship that does not sail fast for I intend to go in harms way. JPJ

The main purchase decision when compared to other cameras of a similiar (+/- ?100) price, was size and looks. The ixus is significantly samller than most similiar quality cameras.It may be useful to have one of the swiveling LCD screens, but the balance is that this will fit in your pocket.The features on the Ixus are very quick and easy to understand, it has easy control of white balance, and easy to learn menu sytems for setting up prefernces ect. the zoom control is right next to the shutter release which is very handy.The software which comes with the ixus seems to do the job just fine, and really is pretty straightforward to use.The 8mb card which comes with the ixus is enough to get started with and allows 25 - 30 medium quality pics.Battery life is pretty short, but i guess this is the norm with digital cameras, the neat laittel charger does its job more than adequately.I can see an upgrade to a bigger memory card and spare battery coming up in the near future.The quality of images is excellent, very sharp with brillinat colours, and theres plenty of creative settings to play with, its fairly easy to create professional quality results.All in all a very satisfying purchase.

I am very pleased with the Canon Power Shot S200. The camera is everything that I was looking for. The size is perfect, the pictures are clear and also very user friendly. I had previously purchased another brand, which I returned, and am very satisfied with my decision. I also am very pleased with Amazon, the arrival date was exactly what they had said it would be and the price of course could not be beat!

In short - it lives up to it's hype. I've handled many digital cameras and most feel lik echeap plastic. This is metal, feels solid, not junk. And yes, small. Still learning to do new things with is, seems pretty well designed. Even the manual is written well. It comes with an 8MB flashcard - pretty small, I got a 256 MB flashcard for it cheap on ebay. I also purchased a tailor-made carrying case for it from Canon for [X]. (Better than scratching the LCD and should I ever drop it, might be very good protection.) Next, I will purchase an underwater enclosure and take it into the ocean. (I live in Hawaii.)I've used it a lot and found no shortcomings. Pretty safe purchase, especially if you can get it at a good price.

This is my third Canon printer. The first two were bottom of the line(BJ 240&1010)that came w/ the PCs. I went broke buying ink [money]BW/[money]color. Not so with the S520. [less money]each tank. And they last longer. As for the ink level gauges. They show either full or empty. No true levels. The low ink warning comes on suddenly. I kept using the tanks that were supposed to be low for about a month. Your print job will stop and you will get a out of ink warning when it is really empty. I've ran all four tanks dry 3-4 times with no apparant problem. The ink does take a few seconds to dry, but it's not wet enough to stain the next page that ejects on top. I'm glad I went for this printer.

I upgraded from my Lexmark Z42 printer to this Canon i320 and from my quick tests it is great! It has a small footprint which is excellent for desks and space in general (Z42 was about 50% larger at least). It has some newer technology like borderless printing and "microfine droplet technology (which may just be a marketing hype)".One of the major reasons I bought this printer is because of ink cartridges. It is easy to find Canon replacement cartridges for reasonable amounts (well under [money amount]) which is a huge benefit in cost savings over my Lexmark that had [money amount]+ cartridges.Overall, a great value for such a low price. And, with the lower inkjet cartridges, cost per page will be lower. Quality of printing is the best I've had in budget printers to date.
