I have always been a fan of the HP All-In-One series, but this Canon has changed my mind. Excellent scans of graphics, negatives, and slides with outstanding pictures as a result. Loses one star because, as many people have said, it doesn't do as well with B&W quick printing as some other models. Overall, VERY satisfied with the printer and speed of delivery from Amazon.

The Canon i850 photo printer deserves to be in the spotlight. It is an amazing consumer product. I bought this printer 5 years ago, and not only has it been reliable, it still prints photos just as well as all the new printers out there.This is great for anyone, it not only prints photos, but it does a great job with regular documents; it prints them in seconds! I haven't seen such speed in some of the top of the line consumer printers!Canon printers are amazing, especially this part of the "i" series!

The MP530 was easy to setup out of the box. Installation went smoothly with no problems on a Windows XP configuration. Print quality is good, scan quality is fair, photo printing is good, faxing was good until an ink tank error message appeared, then I was hosed. I didn't have an immediate ink tank replacement, and the printer wouldn't let me bypass the error message to send a fax, very frustrating. So be sure to keep plenty of expensive Canon ink tanks handy. They use chips, and apparently have them configured to stop after so many prints... so even if you swap the chip out on a compatible replacement cartridge, Canon's found a way to stay in your pocket. You'll nearly pay the price of the printer again after just two complete Canon ink tank (5 total) replacement purchases. If you want economical printing, go elsewhere.Pros - easy setup, good quality printsCons - very expensive ink tanks that go fast

This is the second Canon Pixma IP90 that I have owned, my last one being destroyed by a cat and a precariously placed lava lamp, and I have to say it is one of my favorite things I own. It works like a champ, comes with excellent service from Canon, and is small, beautiful, and reliable.

There are plenty of negative reviews out there for the less expensive substitutes that I didn't want to hassle with that. So I decided to shell out money for the Canon branded replacement. Have had it for ~1 month and haven't used the camera a ton, but the one time I had to re-charge the battery, it didn't lose its charge rightaway like my old "dead" battery does. So it seems that I got the real thing.

This printer is so cool! I have the external battery and bluetooth adapter hooked up to it. My HP laptop recognizes the printer every time. Data transmission via the bluetooth is fast, and printing is suprisingly fast for a printer of this size.I purchased it mainly for printing out invoices and other documents on location, so I haven't had a chance to do any color printing.The printer's a bit pricey, especially when you add the extras, but for the compact size, I think it's worth it!

The MP530 is an excellent multifunction, but you can't count on it working for any length of time. I'm on my fourth MP530 in less than one year. Canon has been pretty good about replacing the defective units, but it's beyond insane that these things fail after a few months. The bigger problem is that HP, Brother, etc. multifunctions are even worse piles of junk.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the prints, given the low price of this printer. I have no regrets over this purchase. Set up intstructions were clear and easy to follow. On screen menus are easy to follow. You can print directly from your memory card without even using a computer. All in all, I would highly recommend this product.

Before I buy I do my homework and this printer definitely delivers it's moneys worth and then some. I'm not supper savvy on the FAX part but I have been able to both receive and send faxes with relative ease. The scanner is wonderful and comes with some really good applications that convert scaned pages into text. The only but is that you should use windows to print photos. Because the cannon program just doesn't cut it in the photo department. The scanner does really beautiful copies of already printed photos. It's up to you what quality and how much hard drive space you want to use for the scanned photos. This is a wonderful printer and comes with the first cartiges of ink. But you will need to buy the large black one more often than the color ones. So my advice is buy extra and shop for them as well. Plus the samples are really small, 3x5 so if you plan on printing photos right away buy paper as well. Plus it does not come with the high speed cable. I had two already so I didn't need to buy one but you should keep this in mind.

As a person who travels considerable for both work and pleasure there are often times when I need a small light weight printer and the Canon iP90 more than fills the bill. Easy to setup and run it is also easy to load both cartiedges and gives EXCELLENT color and black print display. Also for pictures, both received and those downloaded from a camera this is an excellent printer. Highly recommended!

I have been using the Canon MP530 for some time now and it is a great printer. Print quality is good, it is quiet in operation and it is very reliable but most of all I like the lower cost of operating this printer compared to others I had before. Aftermarket cartridges have made this very economical. SJ

I've owned this machine for about 8 months now. The setup was a breeze and the interface took a bit of adjustting to, but now I really like it. The fax function has been flawless, the printing quality isn't as ideal as I was hoping, but for the price, I find it to be very acceptable. The scan quality is great for a multifunction, though it's limited for many higher end desktop publishing applications, so I'm keeping my old slow 1 at a time flatbed for the occasional high res scans. The scanner feeder and auto alignment has almost made the purchase worth it all by itself. I love the pdf options and the ocr is as good as any I've ever used. If I could just network the scanner via ethernet...

We were printing a backlog of photos in minutes and the first impressions were very good. The photos look flawless and so long as our software and print settings are set up right, the photos are very accurate.I've not done prints from the printer's built-in control - I prefer to use the PC to manage, modify and print. I would rather that Canon shaved a few bucks off the cost of the printer and left this feature off, but I suspect that others may find it useful.The USB is fast and the printer's footprint on my desk is not too bad.Ink usage seems to be very reasonable. Canon's use of separate ink tanks for colors is very smart. It feels like we have a little photo lab right in our house. I would certainly recommend or buy another, given the need.

I love this printer. It's so quiet!! It prints fast and the photo quality is very good. I haven't used the fax yet, but that was not really the reason I purchased this. After trying two other printers I just wanted something with good print quality, two paper trays, quiet operation, and fast printing. This printer has it all for a reasonable price. I haven't had to replace any ink yet so I don't know how it does on ink usage, but it does come with two black cartridges. The design is sleek and doesn't take up a lot of room. The set up was relatively easy.

I'm very happy with my purchase of the canon pixma mp810 all in one photo printer. I haven't had much time to play with it yet. I did print a few photos and I need to play with the color scheme a bit. The skin color looked a bit yellow but I think once I get a hang of the menu options that it will be easy to correct. For the price, I think it does a very excellent job. The size of the printer is big but I like having a copier/scanner/printer all in one unit. The text printing also has very high quality out put. It doesn't look blurry. I had tried the mp950 which was replaced by the mp960 but I had an error right out of the box plus the mp950 was way more expensive. I've had no problems or menu errors with the mp810. I give the canon pixma mp810 all-in-one photo printer two thumbs up!

I recently got the Canon MP350 and I must say that I am very impressed by the results so far.The quality of the prints is photo-lab-like, but from home!The scanner is OK, everything works fine, but it's not quite as good as a real dedicated photo scanner (you can see some weird patterns when you scan colors) but you don't really notice it if you don't do enlargements.You can send/receive faxes and it will differenciate a phone call from a fax and answer automaticaly for you. That's a great feature!Copies are #1 and 2-sided works as advertised.Ink is expensive, but so far I printed a few high quality photos and it's still full, so I guess it's allright! It also has a dedicated black ink only for text, this one probably lasts something like 500 copies or something and it comes with free photo paper (at least here it does).Text is sharp when you need it and can be printed as draft or high quality (you couldn't tell the difference between this and laser).I will post a few printed pictures examples in the images gallery and you can decide if it prints well or not!NOTE: You can't print on discs with this model, even if in some places it is advertised so. North American model doesn't have this feature (written in the user manual).A good home (8x10) photo printer is 200$, for 50$ more you get a fax, scanner and copier + excellent printing resolution... seems like the perfect office tool for me (graphic artist here & amateur photograph)!I recommend to extend warranty btw as all printers will end-up failing at some point, good or bad, one brand or another!Enjoy ;)

Two early-release products from Amazon withing the last month. First, I purchased a Panasonic HDC-SD1 relatively low-cost high-definition video recorder which was available from Amazon, and few others. Great instrument (reviewed elsewhere). Then, needed a new portable printer and Amazon was the only place I could find this machine. Amazing -- and especially amazing at the price point.The quality of color output (up to 8 x 10) is at least the equivalent of my Pixma IP 5000 or the Epson Photo R2400 sitting alongside the Canon. To be more accurate, I couldn't see any relative difference in the printed images until I put the prints under a glass. Of course, speed of the iP90v falls short of the 5000 or the 2400. Color quality and density, as measured, falls within reasonable margin(s).Two great buys from Amazon within the last month.TomF

I purchased this photo printer back in August for a family Christmas present as was a great price. Perhaps I should have but didn't open it until after my son unwrapped it. To my surprise, the printer head and ink containers were already unwrapped and installed! There was a couple 5x7 blank glossy printer sheets in that section so we decided to try it. No matter where you adjust for the picture to come out, it is not centered. Almost half of the picture is cut off. And, the colors are streaked in part of it and not anything like in the picture. I thought perhaps it was because the ink containers had started to dry up or something but that would only be if they were unwrapped and unused for well over a year. My understanding when I ordered this is that it was brand new. However, it looks to me like someone else bought it, put it together, got the same unsuccessful results and returned it. I also have no way of contacting the place I purchased this from to complain and try to get a refund as I have no paperwork. I am very, very dissatsified with this purchase and will certainly in the future, always open up a package and check on it even if it is going to be given as a present a few months in the future. The only reason I have one star is because there wasn't anything lower.

I bought this for use in my home, but it is fast and versatile enough for use in any small office setting. Set up was effortless, and I like the ease with which the ink cartridges are inserted into the unit. The cartidges are much more affordable than those for my old Lexmark. The footprint is of a reasonable size for an all-in-one. The best printer I have ever used in my home office setting.

I purchased this camera about 5 years ago and due to its inability to take a picture in low light I only used it outdoors, and it did a great job. I recently bought a new computer and guess what? Canon has not come up with any software to download any of my pictures on the new VISTA operating system. I hope they are taking care of this with their new camera models. Looks like I'll be buying a new camera but it won't be a Canon. Color me unhappy.

As this is a Canon product, I have no problem with the print quality. It's quite good. Why I took off a star was that I have a small greeting card company and self publish my cards and I had problems with feeding when using card stock. This is the second Canon printer I have purchased and I had the same problem with the more expensive MP850 as well. The cassette feed worked for about 100 sheets and the stopped and the rear feed did the same thing. I had to hand feed sheets into the rear feed and it took several tries on some of them. A bit frustrating. If you are looking to print a large quantity of photos at the highest quality, you are looking at a few minutes per page on an 8x10 print. Again, the prints look great. It is also a large machine, but you have to expect that with an all in one.

At the price it's sold for on Amazon it's cheaper to buy this than your average set of cartridges, AND it's a very decent printer for "every day" household stuff. I recommend it highly. I wouldn't pay the "no cable" comments any mind, as no USB printers come with cables.

Ive had this printer for 6 months, I have gone through countless ink cartridges (which are very small and overpriced) and I do not print that often. Now I have an error code and none of the functions work (print or scan) Waste of $200. Im throwing it away!

I use for documents. Excellent. Looks like quality of laser printer. Compact and fits in my briefcase along with my laptop. Initially, I recommend extra Canon BCI 15 (black), and Canon BCI 16 (color) print cartridges as they are very small as well as expensive. Costco may have a variety of this cartridge that is cheaper. I have used for several weeks so I won't comment on the long term performance of this printer.

The printer works fine a s a truly portable device. I had difficulty loading the drivers on my laptop. The printer does not come with USB cables. You need tha cable unless you plan on using infared. I use the printer for letters and memos not photoes. The print quality is good.

I have used the 530 for 6 weeeks now...I have had some diff with the fax function, in that I can't stop a fax call in progress, so it rings every 2 minutes regardless that i can't stop it.Printing problems...some sensor seems amiss, and have called the phone tech bank three times. They are easy to get to, but vary some on their knowledge. I have gotten a "paper jam" alarm several times, and there is no jam. It even prints out a page to tell me I have a paper jam. After a couple of cleaning cycles, it seems better.Photo prints are glorious, even on HP paper.

Image is sharp and color is good. I like this model because in addition to 4x6 photos, I can print 8x11 documents. The printer fits in my laptop bag and goes with me whenever I travel. It's only been a couple of weeks, but so far so good. I give the PIXMA iP90 an excellent review.

For a first timer on photo printer, I was quite proud of myself for putting it togeter out of the box. The installation process was easy, print quality was compatible to the one-hour photo print you get in the stores. Took me awhile to figure out how to print 4 imagies on 1 print. Overall, it is easy to use for basic 4x6 prints, printing from memory card or from camera. Unfortunately it does not print from computer and cannot print other sizes. Unless you only want to do 4x6 prints and don't use a computer, get something more advanced as you will quicky get bored of it and want more.

I am in love with the size of this printer. Not to mention it moves a lot faster than my outdated hp photosmart printer. The only problem is the ink tank is so small, you might have to replace often. I haven't replaced mine yet, I've printed about 40 pages but others have said they have had to replace at 50 pages. Other than that, this little printer is a marvel and offers lots of options.

Bought an older model cause it was cheaper, and I wanted to try a Canon after a couple of HP's. Came quickly from Amazon, easy 'out-of-box' set up and hook up to older Sony desktop. Although don't use it every day, copy function is great, both B&W and color...printing is quick and so far has done everything I ask....no complaints. Haven't set up the fax yet, but soon. Can't comment yet on ink replacement.

We chose this printer because we want to scan our old 35 mm slide collection and needed to replace older inkjets that had died. While we haven't yet used it for scanning, both the text and photo printing are excellent and significantly faster than our old HP and Dell models. It is big and solid feeling, with good software and a nice control interface. We'll come back after we find time to use the scanner...

This is my 5th Canon Printer but the first multi-purpose printer I have owned. Just love it. Photo prints are superb. Negative and slide scans are brilliant. I really like the individual ink cartridges so I only have to replace single colors as they run out. Very easy to use. Would definitely recommend. I have never been disappointed with any of my Canon printers and have only replaced them to upgrade not because of any problems.

The ink cartridges are very small. As a result, they run out very very quickly, and need almost constant replacement. I've had to replace the b&w and color cartridges practically every month, and I don't even do that much printing.Anyway, just something to keep in mind. It's tiny. It works great. But it's pricey, and you'll be buying tiny (and expensive) replacement ink cartridges often.

I really like that I have everything I need in one product. It saved me from adding another USB port. I love that I can take film and print pictures from it since I am a photo buff. The only draw back was finding the film slot under the document cover.The illustration was not clear to me in booklet.

You read it all over this machine is great in what it does. I sort of had beetr expectations on photo quality but still very acceptable especially if you use good photo paper. What really-really turns me off with this machine is that it does not allow use of generic ink cartridges. Even if you install a generic one it will not be able to print anything, not even by using colors from the ink tanks that are full. Each ink cartridge costs $15.00. I would not recommend this printer if you want to save money on the ink. Thus the 3 stars. I am going to sell it and try to find a most cost effective machine.

Oh yes! This is one fast and fit printer to have when you are on a trip. I traveled to several states this summer and used it in every hotel/motel I was in. It took up virtually little space and was as compact as can be, with the top opening to accommodate sheets of paper and a snap-open bottom (front of printer) that lets them spew out when printed to. Colors were quite good. Price is competitive. This is exactly what I've been looking for!

I spent nearly a year and a half traveling weekly in my last job and after many frustrations trying to use hotel business centers for printing, found and purchased this printer. I have been thrilled with its convenience, performance and quality output. Because it folds up into a compact package and is sturdy, it travels well. Now that I'm on to a different adventure, I'm purchasing another iP90 for my personal use. It was a bonus for me to discover how well it prints photos - a feature I had no use for in the business applications I was previously using. Word of advice: because the ink cartridges are so small I'd advise keeping spares on hand.

This printer replaced a well-worn IP5000 Pixma. It does a very fine job with colors right out of the box. Printing using the black seems to be clear, sharp and very neat. I like it.*Canon however has seen fit to go with "smart", therefore more expensive cartridges. This is beyond me since the IP5000 uses ink tanks sans smart chip and does a fine job of telling us about a diminishing ink supply in a given tank. Those cartridges are cheap to replace. These CLI-8xx cartridges are more expensive and the OEM folks seem to solve the problem by having us remove the smart chip and tape it into the new non-canon tank. I don't know if that will work since I havent gotten there yet.But, I see these "smart" cartridges to be just a ploy and are dupes of the current Epson logic. I threw my old epsons out. Listen up Mr. Canon. Don't suck us consumers into fine printers then bleed our pockets with unecessary and expensive spin on the consumables. v,t,y C.H.Josephs
