Well, they are really nice looking speakers except they don't work with Vista. Like many others, they worked great for 15-20 minutes, then stopped working. I tried everything - then I went and plugged them in an XP machine and they don't work there either. It is not worth the shipping to send them back otherwise I would! Avoid.

These speakers are really just the best value you can find anywhere. They are just as great, if not greater, than some home theater surround sound speakers; and also a lot easier to use. I was able to buy the game console adapter and use that to hook it up to my tv and it is awesome when you put in a good dvd.

The Logitech notebook speakers for laptops are reasonably priced, easy to set up, compact, and produce quite acceptable sound considering their price. My speakers perform exactly as advertised. Be advised that when the speakers are used with Mac notebooks, the Mac microphone will not work while the speakers are plugged in.

I bought this system a long time ago, and it still works like new. I can't turn the sound up all the way because I'm worried that these babies will shake my walls down and blow off women's clothes. I connected this unit to a Psyclone HDMI/optical selector to use with my computer, PS3, and Xbox 360. I had to connect my HDTV through the 3.5mm jack, but I still get surround sound. It won't be an IMAX experience, but I have a medium sized room, so the Z-5500 system sounds amazing. These can be the best intermediate level 5.1 speakers that you can ask for, relative to the price (I paid about $200 for this system shipped).

I purchased a set of Logitech's V20 speakers and for the first 3 weeks I owned them I thought they were great then they just quit working. I found if I removed and reinstalled the driver they would work for about 3 minutes then quit.The mute/un-mute works indicating that I am "talking" to the speakers but they do not reproduce any sound.Before you purchase these do a search using the keywords: "Logitech V20 speakers not working" and do some reading.Reading the Amazon reviews seem to indicate that not everyone is experiencing the same problem that I am, but, like I say, "Buyer beware!"ERK

I've enjoyed these speakers. I'm not an audio nut and don't need bleeding ears to enjoy video/music. My macbook speakers aren't loud enough to compete with my AC unit noise and the V10's are loud enough to overcome the noise and listen comfortably from across the room.

My Altec Lansing system on my Dell went kaput. I was searching the internet for a Klipsch 5.1 system with NO luck. I found out that they aren't made anymore. In dispair, I didn't know what to do, My son sent me an email showing the Logitech Z-5500. So I bought it from Amazon at the BEST price on the internet !!!Upon hooking it up, I found that it has 6 perifial hook ups IN to the system, optical hookup, etc. The more expensive Klipsch didn't have these! The Sound is GREAT...My computer sounds better than EVER !!! What a Buy, if you're looking, BUY THIS ONE, you won't be sorry !!!!!!!!

OMG- I swear I cried after listening to the hardest pumping stuff I could throw at this setup. BEST $200+ I HAVE EVER SPENT. This is how music in a small personal space should sound- it will FILL your computer room with AWESOME sound and drive your neighbors nutts. No need for a receiver, built in surround sound hardware, 500+ watts, LOTS of connections- you can't go wrong. BEST thing about this speaker system is that YOU CANNOT destroy it by turning it up too loud- they knew the limits of the speakers and have the max RIGHT at the perfect spot.

First, let me say that the most important thing to note about these speakers is the enormous subwoofer. The speakers sound great and all, but I'm not really qualified to say how amazing they are compared to other speakers of this caliber. But I live in a college dorm room, and that sub has been a nightmare. For one, its physically very large (and heavy...). Make sure you look at more than just the pictures, because I can tell you the pictures are misleading. The control panel is much larger than you might expect, and makes the sub look smaller too. Also, despite its size, the sub is unshielded, and Logitech recommends you keep it at least 4 feet away from any computers. This has been the greatest problem for me. Space is an issue in a dorm room, so I had to build a shelving unit out of 2x4's to keep my computer away from the sub. Anyways, my point is, I'd say the problems with the sub are significant enough to warrant taking the extra time to really plan out your setup before purchasing these speakers.

The sound is absolutely amazing. I have it set up as a home theater system in my room and it sounds nearly as good as my bose. The base is much more powerful than bose yet just as tight sounding. The speakers arent as good as bose cube speakers but they are extremely close. For the money I would defintily stick with these. The fact that a digital optical cable can be directly connected to the control unit was a big plus. I also like that the speakers are connected with red/black wires so its very easy to lenghten the cords but they are quite long at 25' and 15'. The control unit is a little big but if you compare it to a reciever which other systems would need to produce the sound of this one, its not a problem. I've looked on many computer review sites and found this to be top rated on almost all of them. This system works perfect for a home theater system.

First and fore most I just Love my decision to purchase this system. Most of the reviews you will read about how great this system sounds is spot on. I thought I would miss my old 15" sub but the sub that Logitech has included delivers with a punch. I purchase this system as a replacement to my main stereo system. Because I live in a apartment the main objective was take away the clutter. So I did not want no receivers, amps and large speakers. My first focus was on the Bose Lifestyle series but at that price range don't think so. After reading many reviews and focusing on system under $1,000 but over $500 and not finding what I was looking for. Then I remember that some of the computer speakers systems out there were pretty good but could they replace a home stereo system. Upon researching some more the product that repeatedly came up was the Logitech Z-5500. I went to a store tested them out and I knew that these were it.My main complaint has to do with mounting the speakers to a stand. Logitech did it absolute best to make sure that this operation was as difficult as they could make it. If you want to mount your speakers on anything but the little desk prong that it comes with be ready for a dandy of a time. To remove the little stands is not simple at all they even fill in the Philips head so you could not get the screwdriver in for removal. I had to use needle nose pliers and twist away this process got cuss meter started because pliers keep slipping. After removal of the stand the Logitech engineers did it to me again the bolt inside the speaker was not fix to the speaker so it rattle around inside and in order to attach the bracket and fix the rattling bolt you must take the speaker apart. I had to do this operation 4 time and cuss meter went way way up. This is quite a shame coming from Logitech because one of the most important things in order to get full enjoyment of these speaker or any speaker system is PLACEMENT so you need the flexibility to use what ever mount you fancy. I have own Logitech speakers before these speaker were of the cheaper verity and they had a metal prong stand and not cheap plastic and a nice big Philips head for easy mounting. Being that this is one time deal unless you need to change your stand. But once it done you will gets to enjoy a great system.

If your into loud, clear sound with plenty of bass these are well worth the $212 pricetag. even with the $37 shipping charge it is still a screaming hot deal. I ordered mine sunday night at 9 p.m. & they arrived tuesday at 2 p.m. & by 3 they were rocking the house. these are very easy to set up with a sound card or you can hook them to your dvd player & tv or game system. they come with 3 lenghts of 15' speaker wire for the front & center satellites & 2 25' wires for the rears. I do recommend a digital sound card..so much more to play with. I am very happy with the sound quality these speakers put out....505 watts

My new Dell desktop came without any speakers so I was looking for a very basic set to use while watching news videos etc. I ordered these because they seemed to fit the bill. I had no idea that I would be so pleased with the sound. The Subwoofer/amp combination is very compact but the sound really is unbelievable , especially considering the price. There is, of course, no equalizer or adjustments other than volume but for the money, it's quite a value. I plan to buy a second set to use with my IPOD as a deck stereo.

Logitech X-140 2.0 SpeakersThese speakers were purchased at the same time as an Acer 17" monitor for a second computer where space was at a premium. They sound surprisingly good--not as good as my Klipsch speakers, but they only cost a fraction of what they cost. Great computer speakers for almost everyone.

I own a Mitsubishi 57" HDTV and the Ps3. My goal to have the best set up without wasting a lot of money or space. Why do I need a receiver that up converts dvds, I just told you I own the ps3 the greatest all in one bundle ever. And why do I need a million inputs on a bulky receiver thats just gonna over heat. So when I noticed this system I had to try it. As expected filled out my home theater setup perfectly. When they say with the volume a third of the way up is enough their not lying, It will shake your house, and can be heard from the street outside. If your a you tuber the music sounds great on it too.In summery $2000 can buy you a great HDTV, a PS3 (bluray, gaming system, and web browser all Wi Fi and bluetooth technology included) and then the best conceived home theater system. Budget minded can now live like kings

Shipped VERY fast (and FREE at that time I ordered)!!! Considering the size and weight of the package it is very convenient. It surely beat the hassle of buying this in the store.Sounds amazing for the size of the speakers (and the price of course). Unlike other's, my speaker cable is not permanently attached to the speaker so I can upgrade the cable when I want it. The master console is fancy.Cons:- Stand by power consumption is about 18 watts - bummer.- Cannot customize the tone (bass - treble) not a big deal.I'm quite happy with this purchase.

Not bad at all. I just hooked them up and cranked it. Nice crisp clear sound. No distortion at all. For the price they are great with my PC. I'll have to say the only draw back is those short rear speaker wires. More than likely you'll need a little more wire. Small price to pay though considering the way they sound. All-in-all....NICE!!!

I was really just looking for a pair of speakers to get my girlfriend so that she would be bored out of her mind while she was surfing the internet. She's no audiophile, so quality wasn't a big issue. These seemed to fit the bill. Once I got them, I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't ecstatic, mind you, but I wasn't disappointed. Good quality, good base response, and they seem sturdy enough.The tweeter and woofer are connected, so when a decent amount of bass hits, you'll lose a little bit of the mid-high/high frequency response. Also, The volume knob is kind of stiff. You turn it on and at about 10 o'clock on the volume dial, it kind of gets stuck. It's stiff to the point where you've either got to leave it right at about the 10 o'clock position, or turn it all the way up to 12/1 o'clock. Other than those minor issues (I guess that depends on who you're asking) their good speakers. If you're serious about your computer audio, don't bother. But if you just want to be able to hear music and videos when you're surfing the web, go for it.

These are really nice speakers, mainly because they have good sound and do not require AC power (they run off of the power from the USB port). These are not high end speakers, but they are far superior to just about any laptop speakers. I would recommend these to my friends.

These speakers are very nice for notebooks which sometimes don't have enough sound quality. After connecting to Dell inspiron notebook, without requiring to install any s/f and changing few settings under sounds/Audio section this speaker started working. And till the time I am pretty much satisfied with its output.

These speakers suit my musical tastes perfectly. The killer bass from the woofer is what you need if you're looking for something to pump out your rockin' music library, or even the electronic beats. The bass can be a little much for other listeners as seems to be evident from a few other reviewers (no offense meant, I see where you're coming from), but I see these as having that killer bass AND music clarity all for an affordable price. I'm actually glad I picked this over the $100+ soundstick II's I was eyeing.

I already have a sony USB speaker. This is much much better than other one I have. The sound quality is clear. Some speaker will not give proper output if a song has more bass. This is so clear.Cons: If I try to set maximum volume, the sound is not clear.

if you are looking for top-of-the-line computer, video game, or home theater speakers you have come to the right place. I had the Logitech 4.1 Z-540's (i think) and they finally went out on me after my dorm was flooded, so I opted for the best that Logitech has to offer, and I am so glad I did. They are astoundingly loud, yet are amazingly clear at all levels of volume. Easily outweighs the cost, if you are thinking about them, quit thinking and buy them!

First off I got this just yesterday, it pounds in every way imaginable. for 55Lbs you know its worth your money. Everything feels like its a 2000-3000$ system. I'm an audiophile and this system is WOW. it shakes the house it does everything, Hooking it up to the computer will make it louder then say a MP3 or Ipod/Itouch I dont know why but I noticed that. other then that greatest speakers ever.If you have any questions regaurding this system like I did and no one answered it. If you've ever taken the time to look into what exactly comprises a "THX" certification, then you know that most PC speaker systems wouldn't pass the test. The Z5500 system is THX certified, and there-in lies their excellence. The power and sound clarity of these speakers is phenomenal, but not without a little bit of tuning and setup. The speakers can play at ear-bleeding levels and the subwoofer is huge enough to have neighbors knocking on your door to cool-it. That being said, the beauty is that they sound good at low levels too. I use my setup mainly for mixing down 5.1 surround music. I sit in the "sweet spot" and close my eyes and these speakers transport me to a world of aural heaven. The bass is thunderous, the midrange is stout and the highs are superb. I can conifidently mix and make EQ adjustments without worry that the end result will sound perfect on my theatre system's speakers. I would have gladly paid double what I paid for these, to achieve the level of performance they deliver. Thankfully they're available at reasonable prices. I can recommend these with my full endorsement.

I have used the Logitech V20 speakers in a classroom setting and they work just fine. They hook into my USB port. There is sufficient volume for the class to hear. And the handy carrying case is very nice and compact for traveling.John Heideman, ESI International Instructor.

After reading reviews, I decided to buy the Logitech x-230 speakers for my computer. First off the speakers are simple to connect. You simply plug a cable into the subwoofer, one plugs into the computer, and of course it needs to be plugged into a power outlet. The power button, volume knob, and headphone jack are on the front of the right speaker and are easy to access. The knob for the bass is on the back of the subwoofer, which can be annoying if you need to adjust the bass. The sound quality is excellent for the price. The bass from the subwoofer sounds great and packs quite a punch! I had the bass settings on my computer turned way up from my last speakers, but had to turn it down because of the strong bass of the x-230. Overall, these are great speakers for the money. I never thought of Logitech as being a company for audio equipment, but that was money well spent on a great set of speakers!

These speakers are relatively modest in price, but seem to work quite well. Easy to install on my existing PCI sound card, and they have a good sound. I have been using them now for about 4 weeks.

I had read the reviews of many higher priced speakers with mixed results. The Logitech V10 on the otherhad was rated more positive than negative. This being said and priced at below 40.00, I made the purchase.I am totally satisfied with these speakers. I can't find one negative thing to say about them. Connected to apowerbook G4 they more than compensate for the shallow output of the G4s internal speakers and with justthe right music separation of the speakers. I do not claim to be an audiophile, but I would highly recommendthese speakers as replacements on your notebook.

we have these connected to our Vista Media Center pc in the den with the wide screen tv. connected to the appropriate 5.1 outs from the computer. works great and is loud/full enough for regular movie experience at half volume.the 4 side/back speakers can all be easily mounted on the wall with one screw [each]. center speaker flat screen rubber pads are very neat and handy.these are made for a computer desktop kind of setting, so rear speakers are long enough for that, I think 12 feet. get some extensions for a living room setting. for the same reason the cables are black, so you'll want to get some wall colored wires anyway.wish the cables were neutral color and there was a separate input for an mp3 player too but for the price I wouldn't expect that and they are a great deal already if you catch them on sale.

I got these speakers at an unbelievable price and couldn't be happier. These speakers are awesome with a nice and clear sound. The only thing i have a problem with is sometimes with the Matrix button on, the back speakers spit out a little unclear, but overall im happy with my purchase.

This system is the coolest best sounding system in the world. Not only does it have alotta bass from one 10Inch Sub But its so clear and crystal its unbeliveable. One lil tip about this sytem thatll help out anyone who buys it.. When you turn up the volume on the control pad keep turning it up itll go up to a lil thing called Boost 11.. Makes the system louder - But It makes it More Dynamic. a lil tip alotta people dont know. after its on Boost 11, Press and Hold Mute - Then turn up the volume agani while holding mute. Itll make it go to Boost 22, Which is unbeliveably cranken up the volume, I usually just keep mine on Boost 11.

Just like the title says they are good for the money. They are not Bose like nor are they cheap "comes with the computer speakers". They have a fairly wide range, but sometimes you need to adjust the tone based on the song. I paid $33 for them and I think that it was worth the price.One Con is the wiring on the back is a lot and hard to hide if you need to.

This unit is great when it works, but the controll head will fail. They know it. Look up answer 7333 on their website. You will be out of warrantee, so tough luck. You will be offered the chance to buy a replacement system, not just the head, with a 30 day warranty for half off their list price.

We are so thrilled with this set of speakers! Excellent sound for the price .. I play music on my computer (itunes) and the sound is just right. We live in an apartment so they don't need to be too loud. If you live in a house and sound volume is not a problem for you then go for something more pricey. For these the sound is nice and full, passes the NIN test. I highly recommend! Also, they were packaged very well and the shipping was FAST!

I bought this system before 1 month and it has been playing quite well since I bought it. Installation was easy, just plug and play and sound is great. I think for the price, the product is really amazing. If you really love music like I do and don't want to spend too much on the system, this is the one for you. Not very hi-fi but enough to give you a kick while listening. I would highly recommend this product.

Replaced my home theater setup with this when a static discharge damaged my expensive receiver. Did not want to buy another expensive unit to maybe have this happen again. This low cost solution gives my media center pc pretty good sound and my blu ray movies again have the bass and impact I like. You need lots of space for the massive woofer far enough away from any external/internal hard drives. I wish the speakers could accomodate standard stands. But other than that the unit handles the dts signal coming from my Xfi/dts610 card/converter and it does a nice job of surround emulation for 2 channel signals.

I realize the prices change constantly, but when I purchased these speakers, they were $17.80. You can be absolutely certain these speakers are worth that. People often say "you get what you pay for", and in general, that is true, however, with these speakers, I think you're getting an excellent price. I use them with my laptop for both casual music listening and video editing (for film school). The quality is very good for both purposes. It's only a 2.1 system, and these aren't made by Bose, so don't plan to use them for DJ'ing a party. They do have a limited volume, and at quieter points in a given song, you may hear some "fuzz" at high volumes.As has been said before, one downside to these speakers is the lack of a bass control on the Subwoofer. The bass may be a little high for some users, and if the program you're using doesn't have an equalizer, I could see how it would be a bit irritating.I'll still give them a 5 star rating, because they are, without a doubt, the best speakers you will find for under $20.

These speakers are of inferior quality, the sound is very low, and when set at its highest volume, the sound is completely distorted. I had to return these speakers. Spend $85-100 and get what you are expecting.

I knew I wanted logitech speakers because I like the brand. When I bought these I thought they'd be a bit smaller, but even so I was still surprised at the large sound that came out of them. They're not tinny at all and actually sound good enough for me to use with my iPod and not be disappointed by them. Nice, full sound for small speakers. The price is awesome so I definitely recommend these. Logitech scores again. These are really good for the price, there's no reason to spend $75 on desktop speakers when you can get something that works this well for under $30.

This is the best system for anyone who wants more than just regular speakers. this system has so many different ways to listen to great sound. and the remote that comes with it is such a pleasure to have, so you dont have reach for the sub wofer to turn it on. when you purchase5.1 Game Console Adapter Convert Rca Plugs To A Single 1/8 as i have, triples the output of sound. Overall you can plug and play this thing with ANYTHING! So far i have played it with DVDs Animes iPOD PS2 even my Gameboy. The speakers are mountable anywhere, even upside down which is what i have done underneath my loft bed.this is a lifetime purchase pending i take care of it like everything else i do.
