The speaker is pretty small but the sound that comes out of it is large and clear. Just wanted something that sounded better than the speakers on the computer and this is much better than I expected. Would recommend to anyone.

I am quite a discerning user for high quality speakers as I have quite good ears and have gotten used to my mid-range digital receiver with large size good quality 5.1 speaker set which I assembled from a few different brands in a complete HDMI setup, so my expectation for these speakers are not sky high. These worked out actually a bit better than I anticipated. The high and mid-range sound quality is actually quite acceptable and decently full and accurate as long as the speakers are not pushed hard. With the small enclosure and the power rating, the bass is obviously lacking, but to expect anything different is expecting exception from laws of physics. My strategy on these speakers is to peg the volume at the mid range and use your sound card amplifier to adjust the volume if connected to a computer, and don't exceed 75% point (perferably below 40-50%) on either set of control (speaker or PC sound card), otherwise the speaker will start to boom and the entire soundscape will start to be noticably distorted. Keep the tone control no more than mid-way also, while it sacrifice the amount of "perceived" bass, the overall sound muddiness is great reduced when the tune dial is kept below mid-level. These are a good value, not gems in the rough, but competent for the price range and quite well made and good looking which is important as computer speakers.

I got to say that the Logitech X-540 5.1 Surround sound speaker system with Subwoofer is absolutely wonderful. I have had it since April 20, 2012 and thats three months, no complaints, no problems with it and sounds great. The delivery by mail was fast, well packaged in a delivery box within a box and everything was package and organized well. Bought these as a replacement for another Logitech notebook speaker set I had damaged. Unfortunately, the quality of sound is far inferior to the old ones. I wasn't expecting ultra high quality sound, but these sound tinny and hollow and are quite disappointing when compared to the ones they replaced. On the plus side, they clip on easily and require no setup. Overall, this was a bad choice.

This speaker set is awesome, it's that simple.They are so good, I was just listening the the quality and had to get up and write a review 5 Stars all the wayThere are heaps of options for setup, however I prefer simple digital optical straight from my pc to the Control station.The remote control is great. Line in and out is good, Software controls are good.Subwoofer is connected to the Control station (around 2.5m cable) and all other speakers connect via the Subwoofer.You get a pretty descent length of cable to run the remote speakers for single room.I like to listen to all kinds of music and right now i have some drum and bass that is just kickin it and sounds crisp and loud.It's pretty obvious from everyone elses high ratings that these are well suited to anyone wanted the top of the line computer/audio speakers.If they still sell these, buy these.

Logitech is a fantastic hardware manufacture for consumer electronics. I've been enjoying my laptop speaker for a few months and I'm certainly satisfied with it. This speaker features loud, full, and clear audio. It comes packaged with an 18 inch USB cable which is a perfect length for your laptop. It features a headphone port and AUX port for your other MP3/iPod devices. This small but powerful speaker is conveniently portable. Logitech has even included a carrying case with its product!Now you probably have been wondering why this product didn't receive a full 5 stars. When I have first purchased this product I had experienced problems when it initially started playing. I automatically knew the speaker was blown. I knew this was a terrible defect and a rarity among audio devices. I'm very experienced with audio equipment and had performed various tests with this product to ensure that it was the speaker and nothing else.I returned the product back to the department store where I had purchased it. I received a replacement. While listening to audio, there is slight feedback that occurs as the audio is playing or when the speaker is silent. This feedback isn't a large problem and isn't really noticeable. Other than those two occurrences I have been happy with my product. It certainly is worth purchasing.

For $28 bucks these things will beat your ears off. We are in an apartment and the neighbors complain when I turn them up half way. If you have a small to medium space these would be perfect.

I wish it fit a little more snug on my laptop, but it hasn't fallen off or scratched my laptop and the sound is a major improvement over my laptop speaker. I'm impressed by the quality of sound from such a little speaker.

I have five sets of this system. I buy them for everyone and all of my locations. They are the best quality speaker system I have ever owned and I have owned a lot. However, when I logged in tonight, 11-3-11 to buy two more sets for a girlfriend and my out of town shop, I was blown away, not by the sound but by the idea that these people are trying to now sell this system for nearly 1k when I have bought them over the last four years for less than $350.00. Last system was purchased this summer, before that spring, before that last new years, two sets last summer and the list goes on. I have five sets myself as mentioned and have bought more for my daughter, friends and family. I have paid between $225.00 to $349.00. Now it seems everyone is jacking the price, before christmas is the reason perhaps? All I know is for my price, they are the best, for this price you can buy top of the line polks or a full bose system and still save money getting more power. Do not support these price changing rip off practices. Let these vendors sit and burn with these until they price them more reasonably. This is a perfect example of copy cat marketing. A friend of mine is a retailer in NY, he looked up his price for me and wholesale this system costs him $215.00 as of this posting time. I myself will wait to purchase for less or I will pay the extra shipping and have my buddy in NY order two sets for me.

I was surprised by the power of these little speakers. I bought these to replace my crappy tv speakers and they're perfect. Now I can hear what people are saying without needing to be close to the tv. The speakers are connected to the 3.5mm headphone output and usb port on the back of my tv for power.

I purchased this system WAY back in 2006!for the money i paid($200 refurbished) this system rocks! ive got people asking if they can buy it from me constantly. although the input is limited, hooking this system up with a fiber optic cable from my tv's fiber-out makes ANYTHING played on my tv truely immersive. the sub is enough to shake my house! The surround speakers are mounted on my wall. Although the speakers do distort at high volumes, you should have no need to go that high unless you are throwing a party.pros-obviously built well. I have my set for 6 years and it is still working like new!!remote is a nice feature making it a nice home theatre set.all speakers swivel 180 degree allowing wallmount or tabletop mountlooks great with or without speaker grillessubwoofer has plenty of thump!cons-will distort at high volumes. this is not the end all be all system.limited input. fiber optic is THE way to go with this system. if you cant use a fiber optic line, no use in getting it. period.

Quality and clarity on this unit is amazing. looks great too! speakers are defiantly nicer when mounted on the wall. I got mine refurbished , but its new to me and its great! the cables are great length-wise and the quality is great! nice bass, defiantly loud and pumping. highs, and mids are great too! defiantly a great system. shipping time was good on it too, recived it in a few days! defiantly go with this unit!

What do you expect for the size or for that matter the price. Aimed to be an add on "replacement" for awful laptop speakers they do just that. I bought for improved skype and MSN usage as well as for kids sites like nick jr. I sometimes play music for background with them to and they are OK for the job.If you expect more then pay more!

These speakers are easy to install, just connect the USB cord to the computer. Can become VERY LOUD! Even the lower settings can be heard through the next room, so be considerate with the volume! Quality is pretty good, and sounds like a mini-home theater. While there's a jack in the back of the speakers, they must be used for another speaker, because headphones don't work in the jack.

I bought this speaker for my laptop because my laptop speakers weren't loud enough when I was watching Netflix, hulu, or YouTube. The product arrived on time, and the price is really reasonable compared to other speakers. It is super easy to setup and start using, it took less than a minute. It clips easily and securly to my laptop screen. It is very loud, I only use it at about 25 percent volume which is fairly loud already. It produces pretty good sound quality. The only thing I don't like is how bulky it is, IWish it could be a bit smaller.

These headphones are lightweight and comfortable. They are easily adjustable for a secure fit. The volume control contained within the wire is handy. The set comes with 2 sizes of male adapter! The sound is crisp and clear.Very pleased indeed at an exceptionally reasonable price!

Let's face it. Most PC speakers suck! They lack presence, tend to muddle mid-range / mid-bass, the highs tend to be harsh and tinny, present a poor soundstage, and almost always lack proper power. And bass...hah! That's a joke. Not all subwoofers and amplifiers are created equal, and this Logitech does nothing but epitomize that point.PROS:First, the meat: This sub / amp combo is beefy. There's no other word for it (common, I know...but you get the point). The amp has plenty of power, even at lower volumes, and the sub is punchy and accurate and yet, possesses enough excursion to accurately render sub-bass at ~30Hz without bottoming out. At half volume, there's no audible distortion or muddying of the sub / mid-bass notes. (Half volume is plenty loud, believe me).Second: The satellite speakers have excellent mid / high recreation (which you would expect from a THX rated component) - though not *quite* in the audiophile range. (Hey...we're talking ~$3xx for the whole deal, remember). The present a solid sound stage with accurate reproduction and little to no distortion at higher volumes. The driver's themselves are slightly on the small side, but again, we're not talking audiophile grade components here.Overall, for the cost (I paid less than $300 when I bought this a year ago), you simply won't find a more cost-effective or better sounding setup for your PC.CONS:The design of the satellite speaker bases are somewhat lacking. While the speakers themselves are solid, the bases are a rather flimsy ABS plastic and only possess two mounting holes, which are difficult to get to due to the design of the speakers and their limited swivel movement. It is possible, but use caution and BE GENTLE.The Control Module connection to the sub is a little on the short side. It would have been nice to see that be a little longer. Same for the 6-channel direct connections. You can replace those yourself, if you wish, but at this price point, those cables really should have been longer. Ditto on the satellite speaker wiring. Again, I used my own...but I guess Logitech didn't figure on Bedrooms larger than 10'x10'. :)The Control Module does not have HDMI in, so no Dolby TrueHD - You'll have to set your sound card / blu ray player to downmix Dolby TrueHD to standard Dolby Digital. DTS-Master HD seems to work, though (or at least downmixes to standard DTS).Final Thoughts:Unless you're willing to spend considerably more $$ on a small 5.1 or 7.1 setup for your bedroom, this Logitech should fit the bill nicely. You will need to spend some time tweaking your sound card's EQ to get the best midrange reproduction possible out of the satellites, but if you know what you're doing...it shouldn't take long and it's well worth the effort.I feel you will be hard-pressed to find anything that offers the clarity, accuracy and presence that this system offers without spending well above this price point.

I was looking for a good surround sound but cheap, this is a good product, easy to assemble. The cables are small like every other review but easy to fix. The overall sound is OK at best but for $60 I guess I should have known better. Logitech makes pretty good equipment which is why I sent straight for Logitech surround sound, should have saved up and bought $140 set.

These are very good for the price. I use them to watch movies when I connect my laptop to the TV, and at 50% volume it is as loud as I need it in my (apartment) living room. Sound quality is great.

These speakers sound pretty good. Especially considering how much they cost. If you're an audiophile that demands high performance, these speakers are not for you. But if you want a decent sounding surround sound experience for games or casual music listening, then definitely purchase this set. The other 5.1 sets from creative or other suppliers do not compare, at least as of Aug 1, 2012. I know I would buy them again.

Two very nice-looking and solid speakers with manual bass equalization, which I think is a must with all speakers. The speakers are heavier than others, which means they'll stay in place. The sound is clear and loud.

I should've read the bad reviews. The product itself is not that bad. In fact, I like the speakers, now that I bought a converter plug to get them to even work! They send a European product, which I was not expecting, and they send a converter plug that doesn't even fit. I had to buy a separate converter to get the product to work.The worst part is, I contacted the seller, even went to their own website and contacted them there, and I never even got a response. (It's been over a month now.)I would buy the American version of this product in the future, not the European version, and I would never ever ever buy from the this seller ever again.

These speakers are a great bang for your buck. They are not the best sounding speakers out there, but you cannot expect great sounding speakers for under $30. For the price, the sound is very good. If you're looking for speakers for casual listening, this is a good choice.

Pretty nice sound for the price....my only real discrepancy would be that the USB 2 input is located in a pretty stupid place. As you reach for the spring-clip to release its grip from your screen, it is very easy to accidentally grab the USB 2 input instead, resulting in the male piece bending quite harshly. I did this the second I opened it and went..."well that was stupid of me."....I've done it probably 5 times since then...so just be careful or you'll be out searching for a short USB to USB2 cord in no time.Overall, good buy.

I had purchase this product before and it serves it's purpose, but I notice the adapter that came with the previous system allowed me to hook up my red and white audio plugs, but this recently purchase system did not. Also, I have to jiggle the wires to make some of the speakers works.

I mean they are not top end perfect stereo sound system for a disco kind of great. . . .but they work fantastic for streaming video, music, and day to day on my system. I was actually really amazed at the depth of sound. They are a great value for the money.

Sometimes my fairly new 15" laptop speakers spews out great sound, sometimes they don't. Then I punch up the laptop speakers to the hilt and also the site's volume and still I get itty bitty sound. Why is that ?Well, anyway....I bought this Logitech lid-mounted speaker with volumecontrol and am tickled with the volume I needed. I can hear across the room if I walk into the kitchen. I haven't tried it with music, but mostly use it with movies, videos or news sites. It's small enough fortravel and out of the way on the top. I rarely close the laptop, so I just leave it on all the time. (I positioned it to cover my camera lens as I am paranoid that "somehow", "someone" is peeping into my living room. Ha!)I researched for USB powered as I would not have purchased if it had to be connected electrically. I did have to try a different USB portal as the first one (of 3) didn't function for this unit. Curious! #1 USB works fine for everything else. I'm a real novice and need everything simplified. Amazon customer reviews said this was a great unit. I am a believer.PLUS**I research EVERYTHING prior to ALL purchases by reading Amazon's customer reviews. It's a great opportunity to see how others like or dislike a product Brand and why. I've frequently not bought something on HSN, ebay, Target or other sites based on the honest reviews. Thanks Amazon customers and thanks Amazon.

Just got these speakers in the mail. They are smaller then U would think. I have a macbook. U must go into your sound preferences and click on the z-205 speakers to get them to work. once i got that figured out, these little speakers ARE much better then the internal speakers on my macbook. there is no real bass from these speakers. for the price and size of these speakers, I LIKE...The seller i get them from, packaged them nicely(no damage), very smooth transaction...

I purchased these speakers to attach to my computer at work when the speakers I had died. They provide an excellent, full-bodied sound for such tiny speakers, and that's great because my desk is cluttered enough already!

Speakers on the laptop left something to be desired so we purchased this attachable speaker. It works great and clips easily to the top edge of the laptop. Comes with a cloth case to put it in when not in use. We're excited that we will now be able to use our laptops to listen to our favorite music!

I bought this speaker to use with my Netbook computer for when I am on my spinning bike or don't want to use headphones. I strap the netbook to the handlebars and clip on the speaker to watch videos while I exercise. It is perfect size for the netbook and it is loud enough for me to hear when I am sitting at least an arm's length away from the speaker. I like the fact that it connects using a USB cable to the computer and uses the computer as it energy source. One less cable to deal with and no batteries to buy or make the speakers heavier.Yes the cable input is located in a stupid place right below the clip and I had pressed on the cable connector instead of the clip and bent the end a little bit. But I now make sure to put my fingers on the clip before applying any force.I would recommend buying this product if you want a small decent portable sounding speaker. It is definitely an improvement over the netbook speakers and good for those time you don't want to wear headphones.

I got these speakers a long while ago. I just dug them out of my closet a day or so ago and I'm pretty blown away by these speakers for what they're meant as. That said, there is one issue and it can be a major issue. They are not stable and they will move if you have the sound up. I used to set these up on a shelf above the desk where I put my laptop. If the sound was too loud (or most likely the bass) they would move. Problem is things that move on shelves tend to fall off those shelves. And this is the reason why I stashed them in the closet to begin with. After multiple incidents of them falling off the shelf a ring or part got loose in one of the speakers and a tinny or metallic sound can be heard when louder bass sounds come out.This is why it got 4 stars instead of 5. The speakers could stand to be more stable so the user doesn't have to worry about where they put them or how loud they're playing at. Also, at this point I'm sure you could find some newer speakers (even from logitech) that are just as good if not better and similar in purpose.

Using as the speaker for my mini-itx build. Great being USB, no power cord. Clips to the top of my thin monitor. Have a very portable desktop with VESA mounted box and wireless everything. only have 2 power cords to unplug to move unit
