Okay, so this is no BOSE sound system, but for the price, you better believe it performs. it is very crisp. not too good for movies, even if the base is turned down all the way, it'll still overpower vocals. it's a little difficult to hear dialogue. other than that, awesome purchase

The sound quality is really good on these speakers.The bass sounds well also.Overall, my experience with these speakers has been good and can't wait to play for music, listen to movies, and play video games. All of those activities sound great through these.

I bought these in Aug 2011 and they are already having problems. The clip for attaching it to the top of your laptop screen too close to the USB connector and it's easy to grab both when you're removing the speakers from your laptop. This bends the connector and causes connectivity problems.

I purchased mine for a little less then $60 dollars and I am very pleased. I wasn't expecting much for the price but it turned out to be very good. Satellite Speaker are built well, they don't feel like cheapos and the wires are long enough for me and I have it set up in my room/garage. If you plan to set this up as Home Surround sound system, then, yea they will be too short to place at preferred location. The Subwoofer is small and it turns out decent bass. The wires for the bass box to computer are short, so plan on having it near by. I personally enjoy having the bass knob on the remote control many audio systems have it set in the back or the subwoofer box making adjusting it a pain. I have had this Sound System for over a year and overall I am pleased with my purchase.

I purchased this speaker to listen to talk radio as AM reception is not so great. The speaker was reasonably priced, doesn't need extra batteries, has the clarity necessary to hear throughout the kitchen and is easily mounted on the note book computer. The storage bag included is handy also.Also it was shipped quickly and all in all, good value for the money

I was looking for some inexpensive, basic, and small speakers for my desktop. I wasn't looking for anything fancy, big, tall, wide, etc. These are small, cute, and sound just fine. I don't listen to my sound all the way up, I'm a quiet loving person, so they do the job for me. I love them.

I have had my Logitech 540 system for a couple of years now and have enjoyed it tremendously. But ever since going to Windows 7.1, with a Realtek onboard sound card, there are big problems and no driver updates to do anything about the issue. I have seen many other people are having the same problem on internet fora, but there seems to be a lot of 5.1 system troubles with Windows 7. I've been advised by tech guys to either get another 5.1 system by another company or to buy a new sound card - neither good options. Good luck if you want to take a chance with it.

I was looking for a set of surround sound speakers for my PC when I came across this set when they were on sale. My SoundBlaster card at the time supported 5.1 sound and EAX so I wanted to get the most out of my gaming experience. Setup was simple enough (although the cables to the rear speakers could be a bit longer). After I get everything placed I cranked up some Half Life 2 and Battlefield. It did a good job of giving me an idea where things were based on where the audio was coming from. Now that is where the fun stops. After I got done with that I listened to some music and I was disappointed to say the least. I had really not noticed it in the gaming session because I was more focused on directional audio vs quality. However I noticed how muddy these things sounded when I was listening to music compared to my old Altec Lansing 2.1 setup they replaced. I was able to tinker around with the SoundBlaster EQ settings and make things a little better, but overall I was not impressed with the quality. While I still have them I only have them setup in 2.1 and really use a Logitech G35 headset for most things now and I still get to enjoy surround sound without all the wires going everywhere. I really can't complain with what I paid for them, but unless you catch them for a good price I would probably spend a little more and you will be happier.

I've owned this speaker set for about 4 and they still work great. Much more than I could say for some of the cheaper Logitech speaker sets I've owned. These are definitely in a different class.Three different inputs, 5 identical speakers, very nice control center with all the inputs, a big volume knob, and nice back lit LCD display. All digital control, no analog potentiometer that will develop noise over time. Decodes Dolby Digital over digital coax or optical which is great if you have on-board sound with digital out as analog is often more noisy.Bass is a bit boomy. I would suggest actually setting the subwoofer gain down from the default setting for a more balanced sound. Treble is a bit lacking without a true tweeter compared to a reference bookshelf speaker, and adjusting the level up doesn't really cure it. There is just a lack of detail. However, relative for a PC speaker sound quality is very good.Overall loudness is great. You can crank it without it breaking up or losing too much dynamic range. It has plenty of power.For the price as a complete self-contained, self-powered PC system I am still very impressed. While very expensive for a PC speaker set, I feel it is worth the investment as the build quality and long term reliability seem very good. It beats replacing a $50-150 set (that doesn't sound that great to begin) every 15 months because the volume knob develops noise or it pops loudly every time you flip a light switch.

Let me just start off by saying these speakers are a great buy!They had good sound quality and a good amount of bass. Personally I find that on my desk I do not have enough room to fit all 5 of the satellite speakers (I wish I could), but the system still works perfectly with 3 satellites. I have been putting this sound system through roughly 7 months of heavy usage (touching base on all sound ranges and frequencies). Only once had I noticed a slight feedback issue and I am assuming it was from a poor quality Pandora song because I was not able to recreate the sound. In addition I utilize this system with a gaming system and have only received the best sound output from them. These speakers are still clear and provide me with the perfect amount of bass to music ratio I enjoy!Pros:Durable and long lastingGood range of sound and frequenciesGreat for video gamesCons:My only wish is that the system should have a downward firing bass driver and not a horizontal firing one.Endstate:The perfect speakers for the individual who likes to rock out and jam.

This system really surprised me on the quality of sound and the bass production. I expected a $350ish system would sound good but not Great. I was interested in getting a BOSE 3-2-1 system but $800s seemed steep for just 2 speakers and a sub. I have some friends who have the BOSE systems and they sound pretty good. My Logitech sounds as good if not better cause my friends even tell me they like this system especially for the price. I heard this Logitech system on display at a store and I really liked it for the price and the sub output. I bought it cheaper from Amazon, set it up at my small townhouse, and noticed a big difference from the open space of the store compared to my cozy living room. The sound was noticably more clear and louder. I set the volumes ([1-10]base to level 3, system volume to 5) and immediately enjoyed the quality of sound; also figured out that half volume was too loud for my little new neighborhood (I currently live in Japan where homes are considerably smaller and walls aren't as insulated or as thick as states). By the way, the audio input is currently optical audio output from a TV connected to my hdmi-connected Xbox360. No RCA or component connections to the Logitech.Guests tell me NICE system and I grinningly tell them its Logitech.Note: Mid range is good but I have heard better from much more expensive speakers. I can deal with good to save a couple hundred bucks.

MUSIC: For all those that have negative/critical feedback regarding reproduction for music, I want to recommend using the Equalizer functionality of your sound card software. If that is not available, then I recommend downloading and using a player that does (VLC is freeware and quite good.) Understanding how to use an Equalizer will deliver the full range of sound that you seem to think is "missing." These speakers really deliver the full range and music is just fantastic once the system is set up correctly.GAMES: This system is excellent. I have two gaming systems. One has the Logitech 5.1 and one is a many thousand dollar set up driven by an XFi Fatality, a Yamaha RX-V2600 and Klipsch RF series 5.1 system. Honestly, the Logitech indeed is excellent as all ready stated. Sure, there is a bit of a difference in clarity, especially in the fronts and center channels, but interestingly the surrounds are nearly the same. For 400.00, I am amazed at the clarity and precision of sound in games such as COD MW2, Dirt 2, Crysis Warhead. The position of sound is so crisp, you can hear bullets whiz past you and hitting something behind you. Footsteps are also discernable so you know not only that someone is behind or to the side of you, but how far away they are. Explosions actually sound like explosions and not just loud messy noise. Unreal. The tightness of the drivers and sub delivers.MOVIES: Pretty darn good. So good in fact that I find myself watching movies on my 25" LCD through these speakers at times rather than firing up the 52" LCD based HT system. That is saying something! Much as this system performs in games as detailed above, it also delivers similarly for movies. The fronts are not quite as "wide" as I might hope for, but for a 400.00 speaker system, they sure sound incredible enough in my computer HT environment (which is much smaller than the main HT set up.)CONTROLS: This has been well documented by others. Pros are the ability of setting volume for each channel, of connecting in peripherals and the optical link as well as DTS and PL II built in. Nice. Cons are the lightless remote, bright LCD and perhaps size of it too.I believe this is a good value. For 250.00, which some got it at years back, you got a steal! I would buy them again/recommend them to anyone. They serve their purpose (PC 5.1) perfectly and perform more (potentail HT use) admirably.

I forgot what I paid for these but I seem to recall they were just over $20. Obviously they are not terrific speakers and not priced as if they were. I think they sound OK given they are cheap. The bass/treble control helps round out the sound, but when the volume gets a little high they start to distort. I wish now I had spend another $20 and gotten speakers with a sub-woofer. So, if you don't need anything fancy you might consider these but I believe you could do better by spending a few more dollars, especially if the sound quality is important. These are currently being used on my wife's computer, I don't have any on mine right now because both the computers are in the same room, so she just puts on music for us both to hear, we will upgrade later. these do have a built in amplifier and I like the metal screen fronts on them.

I recently purchased these speakers for use in our kitchen, and they are incredible in every way. The audio input is a 3.5mm jack, perfect for connecting an iPod. So, I set them up and plugged in my iPod. The sound quality was incredible. It was, honestly, better then our $300 sound system we had bought previously. Amazing. The sound was heard throughout the house, on half volume. I highly reccommend these speakers for any purpose.

I ordered these speakers over 6 years ago. I'm currently using them to play Crysis 2 and Call of Duty Black Ops, connected to my Xbox 360 via Toslink cable, and my PC via digital coaxial. It's very rare that I turn these up past three or four notches when hooked up to my 360, and never past halfway when I have my Beats plugged in. The quality of the entire system has spoken for itself in my eyes, and it has given me strong faith in Logitech's products, way before they came around with those Harmony remotes. I got these for a steal at $269 NEW with FREE SHIPPING (LOVE YOU AMAZON), and I would definitely say they are worth the price they are now. The only gripe I have is with the cables, there's so much, but if you have a large space it may not be enough so whatever. Buy them!

Hey guys,I bought this for 20 bucks from a The Fourge ...I think it's a online reseller or whatever but,about the speakers . .for 20 bucks i am extreeeemely happy,I was scared at first for spending anyting on speakers that didn't have at least a subwoofer and at least 50+ watts.But hear me, these are very loud, I've seen some vids that seemed to shake on full volume, mine haven't done so . .which also made me worried, but maybe I'm luckly?The sound quality is very true . . . it's give a 8/10 for lows and 9/10 for trebble.They are also very easy to carry around, specially with the sweet case that comes with it ...well, for someone to pay over $40 , this case is a must in my opinion.Only complain is . . even though they posses buttons to control sound, mute, and media options like play,pause, etc,you have to press them kind hard to work, which i wonder why those were made this way . . . but it's not a major flaw,afterall , it works !This is my first product review, hope u all like it.I am very satisfied for this with the $20 used item price tag it came flawless ...but ... paying over $40, i'm not quite sure I would buy it without trying others b4.

This is the second set of speakers from Logitech I have owned, the first one, an older version of the Z-5500 obviously, the power buttn went out on it on the control panel. The sound quality is awesome. The other day no one was home, and I desided to push the speakers to the extreme and turn all the settings, bass, surround, center to the max...all the way up. The sound actually hurt my ears! But there was still no distortion and crystal clear music. The Sub is huge. Bigger than the first set I had I think. It has a 10" speaker in it. Bass is thunderous even at low levels. Set up was easy. The only thing I can complain about is everytime you shut the system off after all the levels are set to my liking (sub, center and surround) When I turn it back on, everything is set back to 0 again, and you have to reset all the levels to the way you had it before. There needs to be a "save speaker setting" should have been implemented, or some user "profile" save option. Thats why I created the "User Friendly" attribute, and rated it only 3 stars...its ok.

I just have to add my voice to all those who love these speakers. What a surprise to get them working and get what amounts to very enjoyable sound for pop,jazz,rock, folk, and, yes, even classical (particularly pieces with just 4 or 5 instruments). I was unhappy with the sound from my ASUS N71JQ-A1 17.3-Inch Versatile Entertainment Laptop (Dark Brown), a product which is great in every other way. I was amazed upon hearing these speakers through my laptop with a USB connection only and no AC.A potential word of caution to WINDOWS 7 users: these were not simple plug-and-play for my laptop. At first, Windows had difficulty finding a driver for them. Then, I had to go to the Sounds folder on the Control Panel and choose these speakers as my default speakers. Happily, I got a great customer rep at Logitech (Sophia) who explained it to me. So, if the speakers don't work immediately and your OS is WINDOWS 7, don't despair.Further, the sound tends a bit towards the bass, and there is no way to adjust that from my rig. The sound, however, works very well for the Beatles, Mel Torme, Dave Brubeck, The Modern Jazz Quartet, Daughtry,etc. Although some have remarked that there may not be enough volume to be heard over a small crowd, I've had a dozen or so people talking and listening to Ella Fitzgerald as well as The Who from these speakers at 90% of their capacity without distortion detectable to my ears. As for their bouncing around at high volume, I solved that by putting them on rubber coasters.These are great. They fit in their case in one of the pouches on my carrying case Case Logic VNC-17 17-inch Value Slimline Laptop Case (Black), and I'm ready to be a DJ wherever I go with the 170 CD's I have loaded on my hard drive. I'm getting another set of these speakers for my other laptop as well; I like them that much. It's a celebtration when you find a product that really works!

It sounded great, but was no good to me because it would not stay attached to my notebook. The clip would not open wide enough for a good grip on it. The smallest movement caused the speaker to come unclipped and fall off. I'm returning it and looking for one with a better fit.

The Logitech Z110 speakers are not bad for portable speakers. I hooked mine up to my Mac Mini which is in my workout room. I run a fan during my workout and these speakers are just loud enough cranked to high to be audible over my fan. I run my fan on high and it is quite noisy but I still felt that for their size they should have had more oomph. Without a fan running these speakers do have a very balanced sound quality with rich bass, and very good highs and mid-range. For a desktop these speakers would work very well.

I just took these on vacation with me, and have to say, I enjoyed the significant step up in quality they provided when hooked up to my laptop, in comparison my laptop speakers. It's true, these are on the low end of the quality spectrum, but Logitech makes great stuff, and for the price, you can't go wrong.I particularly like the fact these run off of USB power, and the cord storage feature is very useful to keep things tidy. I'm glad I was able to try these out, and plan on using them for a long time to come.

My laptop has lousy speakers. Even on full volume I was unable to hear sometimes. For the price, I figured I didn't have much to lose in trying this Logitech speaker. I'm glad I did. It solved my problem. As others have said, this does not provide super high quality sound, but for my purposes (increasing volume) it works perfectly.

I used these speakers on Windows XP and they worked and sounded great. On Vista, they simply would not detect. On 7, they detect but no sound comes from the speakers. Other reviews on the 'net point to the same issues. If you are on XP, go ahead and buy these nice-sounding speakers. Otherwise, beware, they likely will not be compatible.

i got these used and there was some damage, but they still sound fine, although this is a seller issue, the only reason i mention this is because I thought the damage messed up the surround, this is not true it turns out the colors of my sound card , xonor d2, do not match up the colors of the cords of the speakers. the problem i had was the rear right and rear left coming out of the same channel. after about an hour i figured out if all i needed to do is swap the black and pink cable.if you have this problem do your self a favor and do this first.now on the the real reviewthe main reason i got these is because it matched the styling of my R.A.T 9 and my logitech g19 & if i ever get one the g19 as well as my silverstone rv 01so i love my games and i love my music i Live in an apartment and its really hard not to just blast these because they just sound soo good i really wish i could some timethey look good and should good, in a time were sleek curves if you want to be different and stand out these will do well for you

Action speakers louder than words.. I'm not going to say too much about this unique system right her but if you love music and you want to hear everything that's in the song, the Logitech z-5500 is the way to go.. These speakers made me love music even more.. what i mean by that is, when i listen to music through ordinary speakers, i just heard all the instruments coming from one speaker. But with the Logitech surround sound system, you hear the piano from a different channel and hear the drums from another channel which comes from different angles of the room depending on how you set it up... They have made the system in such powerful way that not only you get the best sound quality but also the greatest system. The sound quality can not get any better this... when i first purchase it on amazon, i just couldn't wait to get my hands on it.. When it finally came, i knew it was the best investment i ever made... You will enjoy everything about this speaker and never regret spending your money on it.. I love everything about this system and i know for sure you will enjoy it too..

These speakers are a GREAT value! The highs and mids are crisp and clear and they even have decent bass for 2.0 desktop speakers. Enough so that you can feel it through the desk when you put your hand on it, once you've dialed everything in with your audio mixer. No substitute for a good sub, but impressive, none the less, for $26 speakers.The build of these is impressive, also. They are solid, with heavier than usual cords. The power supply is built in, so there's no power brick to hassle with. The metal mesh screens protect the speakers well. The headphone jack on the front is convenient and will mute the speakers when you plug in the headphones. Only has volume and "tone" controls on the speaker, but you'll want to use your pc's audio mixer to dial in the best sound anyway, so that's no biggie.All in all, these are Great speakers for this price point. Highly Recommend.

I use these speakers with my Sony LCD. They work just great for the price! The thing I was having a problem with was getting to adjust the volume of my tv with a cordless remote. It was driving me crazy and I had to sort it out! So after much to do. (my TV does not have a head phone jack) So oddly enough the answer was to use a cheap and the most simple universal remote that I could find. (one worked for a while then stopped so I had to replace with an even cheaper one) I say cheaper like $8 or something. These remotes are simple, which is why they work with this set up. I have a DVR player/cable box from Timer Warner cable. I plug the speakers into the cable/DVR box. in and out using a 3 to 1 gaming splitter. And the remote accesses a different (maybe more analog?) volume control then the Tv volume control. Ie..on my TV a white volume display on the top of the screen instead of the Sony display on the bottom. sounds crazy and i don't really know why this works but it does. So no getting up and down to adjust the volume! Hope this helps someone because I have seen many ask this question. And I had tried everything!Good Luck and enjoy your speakers with TV. OH! I bought these for my massage office. I read all the reviews that said the volume was poor. I thought since I was using them for "light music" in the office they would work fine. I had always had good luck with logitech. When I played my mp3 with them I had to turn it up to full volume and if you walked more than 5 ft. away, you could not distinguish the song playing. I plugged my son's Itouch into them and the sound was a little better (louder) still had to have the volume ALL the way up. The radio was slightly better than the mp3, but worse than the itouch. I plan to send them back. Very disappointed, because always liked the brand.

We used to have a logitech surround sound system & enjoyed many hours listening to music, watching movies,etc. When we moved we somehow got seperated from it & was looking around for another. Then one day we found this great deal from amazon for this surround sound system & bought it. It's worth every cent we spent on it. We love Logitech products. We have one little tiny complaint which is we wish it had a remote control (lol). Great sound for such a compact system. I would recommend this product to people on a tight budget & looking for quailty sound. This is what you're looking for right here! Don't hesitate & lose out on a great deal, BUY IT!

Why they call the Z506 a "replacement" or "upgrade" to these x-540 2006(first released) speakers is beyond me. These blow away the Z506 - they cost a little bit more but it is money well spent. No longer do I have to reach behind the base module to adjust the base or reach to the right speaker to adjust the volumn. The controls for both are now on the wired remote as well as a function designed to create 5.1 surround from a 2 channel source called "matrix" When pressed all the speakers put out sound even from a 2 channel stereo source like a mp3 file. That more than makes it worth 115.00 to me. The sounds is great, nice bass, good highs and adequate midrange. I have no complaints and should have bought this years ago.

Well that may be a bit dramatic, but you'll be amazed at the quality of these speakers. They bring games and movies/music/TV to life and will get the cops called on you with perfect clarity of sound quicker than you can say "I'm sorry I couldn't hear you knock over the music Officer."These speakers are like broadband internet access. You can never go back to dial up. I plugged a 5 switch fiber optic splitter into the receiver and am running everything in my house through fiber optic lines and home made THX Monster cable with gold connector ends leading to each of my satelite speakers. You will want to invest in some decent speaker cables because the ones that come with the system are garbage and a real miss match for this caliber of speaker.I would knock these down one peg for ease of use because you really need to obtain and install high quality speaker cables before you can realize the true potential of this set up but it is worth the effort. Do yourself a favor and pick up 100 feet of THX certified speaker cable and 5 sets of high quality standard speaker wire ends immediately after you add this to your cart. You won't want to pay local store prices after you realize the speaker wires that they send you with these just won't do.There are no better PC speakers available on the market that I could find after an exhaustive web research. I have not regretted this purchase for a second and neither will you. Don't torture yourself any more. Add them to your card and then pick out some speaker wire's.

These speakers are the best I've ever heard under $200. Where I live, we party, and I hear some pretty good sound systems where I'm at, but these little babies get just as loud and still retain better quality than most of the huge ass speakers I run into. I put all my game systems, pc, tv, etc as close to these speakers as I can because I can't use any of them without it anymore. I just can't. If you're on a budget, buy these.

I bought these speakers to compare against a pair of Bose Companion 2 (Series I) speakers that I was unsure about their sound. I really wanted to like the Bose - and for the most part I did when listening to a pair in a local Sams Club. But in the end, the X-140s won out for me. Here's why:What I liked about the Bose: I was very impressed with both the amount of Bass produced, and the clarity of the sound coming from the Companion 2 speakers. Individual instruments were clear and crisp, and not distorted or muffled. And there was plenty of bass for most casual music listening - probably the best I've heard from a 2.0 system.What I didn't like about the Bose: Unfortunately, from a sound quality perspective, there was a dramatic channel separation between left and right that never let a vocal track converge in the center of the listening stage. In other words, a main vocal track that normally (in my other higher end 2.1 systems) appears to come from directly front and center in the audio stage was instead very evident coming from both right and left speakers. It gave an odd surround sound feel that didn't seem natural to me. Also, the main speaker (with the volume control) apparently had less than adequate shielding as it was picking up a static/crackling when placed in close proximity to our Mac Mini that it was connected to. Move it further away and it was okay, move it closer and it started to crackle.I have several other Logitech speakers (Z3 and X230) that I'm very happy with - I like the sound that Logitech's produce, so I tried a set of the X-140's with this same Mac Mini setup as I used the Bose Companion 2 on.What I liked about the Logitech X-140: While I believe the sound was a bit more crisp in the Bose (and the Bass was more full), the voice is much better placed in the X-140s, and the Bass is probably the next best in a 2.0 system I've heard next to the Bose. The X-140s also have very clear sound - and, unlike the Bose, there is no static or crackling from the X-140 even when placed directly on top of the Mac Mini. So chalk that up to proper shielding.What I don't like about the X-140: Basically... nothing. Sure, I'd like a little more bass, a little more clarity on the high end, but... what can I expect at this price point. The sound is fairly amazing for $27 speakers. One thing that I actually don't like is that the 'Tone" knob is backwards from what you would normally expect. generally clockwise gives more Treble and CCW gives more Bass. Just the opposite here. OK, that's really pushing for something to find fault with.All in all, while the Bose Companion 2 speakers have some very strong features, in the end I was overall disappointed and I'm keeping the X-140s as a very capable 2.0 setup - and for less than 1/2 the price of the Bose, they are a great deal.

I bought this as an upgrade to the Logitech X-530. When I came home the and the box was on my porch, I was excited to see how much difference there was.Weight- It's heavy. Most big boxes are 90% styrofoam... this one is all meat and potatoes.Wires- Most companies are cheap and include like 6" of wire, so you end up spending more to get the length you need. Not here. They included plenty of wire for my needs.Sub- Wow! My X-530 sub is 1/4 the size of the 5500. I live in a small 1 bedroom stone cottage and it hits hard enough to feel... 3 rooms away... downstairs.Center- Loud. My old center I placed under my monitor, not this one. It is way to loud to be right in your face. I mounted it on the wall above my desk. Sounds great now, even cranked to max.Surround- Loud and great for gaming. I play a bunch of FPS games online and it is nice to hear which direction the sniper fire is coming fromCost- ***Best advice*** Check on the price daily. I first started watching this product about a month before purchasing. The price will bounce around from ~$390 to $310. I got mine when it hit $320. It may not drop that low again with the holidays here. Post-Jan it will drop to the lower 3's again.I would purchase this again no problem. Only thing I would change about it is the limited ways you can mount the speakers.

I like the look, easy to use and sound pretty good.Boring days in the office watching a movie is great with these speakers.Wish they opened up to allow a webcam to work but they would cover the logitech logo =)cheers!

I bought this without expecting a whole lot, but wow!! It took my Dell Studio laptop and gave it new life. We can actually HEAR the movies we play on it now clear across the room.Before you had to lean in to the laptop just to hear what was going on in a movie...and that was with the volume all the way up. Now we can actually hear a movie from the dining room to the kitchen and it actually sounds fairly good too.When it's up at full volume there's a little distortion, so I backed it down a hair (it's PLENTY loud!). Installation was a since. Just plug it in and Vista found the drivers and away it went.It doesn't sound like it's "stereo" sound, think more like a center channel speaker. But we use it to watch movies with, so that doesn't really matter to us. I fired up Pandora on it and you could tell that the sound quality isn't Hi-Fi quality, but hey, they're a small set of speakers and they're doing exactly the job I bought them for (to watch movies, YouTube, video clips on the laptop).It'd be cool if it actually played in stereo sound and there's a little distortion at full tilt, but other than that I'm absolutely pleased with them! Great little product. Well worth the money too! I don't know that I'd use it on my older MacBook Pro as the speakers on it are pretty loud, but it definitely made the Dell Studio come to life!Pretty slick little set of speakers and my kids & wife love being able to hear what's going on.The clamp is pretty slick too. Just clip it to the top of the laptop and it hangs on quite well.If you've got an anemic set of speakers on your laptop, pick a set up & you'll love the effect!

I been looking for some surround sound for my room for a while, I was on a budget to spend under $100 for the setup and on my look out I found this and did some research and decided I wanted to buy it, I was aware it had short speakers wire so I purchased 3 extension RCA wires for the 2 back one and one left one (just my setup) it cost me less than 10 dollars for those (2 dollars each) I also bought the RCA switcher box for 7 dollars so I can plug 4 different source to this speaker (iPod, xbox and PS3 still have an extra space) and I bought the 5.1 to RCA converter for about 15 dollars, it took me about 10 minutes to set everything up since all wires have different color tops and the sound is amazing. The best part is it cost me less than 100 dollars for the setup while it may cost other people up to a thousand... Sure it might not have the best sound in the world, but it's still nice a clear and loud enough to listen to music and play games. I have it on low and I can still hear the bass from the down stairs lol

I have to agree with The Woj: very decent speakers esp. for the price. Their heft means it's unlikely they'll fall off your desk with an inadvertent swat. And if they do, you get the feeling they'll put a dent in your floor, not break. They are just right for hearing the various Windows sounds and do quite well with music samples from here on Amazon. As a test, I listened to the samples of Dark Side of the Moon, and must say it was better than I expected. Only negative has been mentioned elsewhere: the overbright LED.

This item arrived on time. Plug and play did not work but setting the properties through "Audio Devices" was no problem- very good step by step instructions. Sound is good to excellent considering the size of the speakers.

Unless you are a professional DJ or are a hardcore audiophile then I don't know why you would need anything else. For the amount of money you spend, you won't find anything better.Very easy to use. When I really crank up the volume the whole house can shake and the bass can be felt in every room. Also sounds great when listening to movies.They survived living in a fraternity house for two years and in my apartment for one year (my neighbors don't like that I have these speakers) with frequent use all three years which attests to their durability and they still sound great.Hard to go wrong with Logitech, and when combined with Amazon it's a one-two knockout purchase.

This product was purchased over 4 years ago and used heavily. The sound is still exceptional for the price paid!I also hear the next generation version of these speakers are not as well built and have some sound quality flaws; so these x-530's were an excellent buy!

I bought this for my laptop at work which the stock speakers could barely be heard at max volume. I use my laptop for webinars with several people around it and we could not hear the sound. The difference was HUGE! I now have to turn down the volume because it is too loud. For a usb powered speaker system it is great and I am very pleased. You will be too. Also shipping was very fast even with the standard shipping it came quicker than the expected arrival date.
