I've had the Creative Inspire 5100 for a longe time (5 years), and now I have upgraded to this ones..Needless to mention about the price tag.. It is a real good value for the money....The Good points I can mention are:a) Nice and loud sound (without getting to much technical details of it)b) Nice Bass as well...c) The stands ! You can have them in 2 positions and it helps to attach to walls... Really a very good thing about this set.d) The central speaker stand, that attached to my 22" monitor.. Just perfect..e) The Matrix feature, where even my notebook (with one way out only) get's a 5.1 sound (computer generated, but is better than nothing !)The Cons:a) Lack of protection for the Bass Speaker (such as a grill), which is located at the very bottom of it...b) Needed longer cable to the rear speakers... I had to make an extra lenght connections to mine...c) Lack of a tweeter, at least for the central speaker.. It could make the sound a bit better...But anyway... You will be pleased..... I don't want to get too much tech. about the sound.. It is a very good set, specially considering the price of it !

This turned out to be a awsome set up. It has great sound and features on it,plus the bass from the subwoofer is pounding. This is a great computer speaker set up for anyone who uses their computer to play games or watch DVD's or listening to music. Also a very reasonable price. Also needed speakers for another computer but didn't need all the speakers and later bought the Logitech z-2300 speakers and they do just as great.

These are the simply the best speakers that you can buy for your PC for the price hands down! Someone on here said that the knob on the control module did not work well, but I have had no issues with that. I put these speakers in an custom built arcade/jukebox machine and they are phenomenal! These speakers are simply awesome! They even have a digital coax input as well as an optical input for devices like a DVD player.

I've had these speakers streaming music via the Pandora website for months, great quality and no problems. I like the "footprint" as they take up very little space. Also like that it's a standard plug, not another bulky black box.

everything about these speakers is above average. except for one small thing, it only has 1 digital optical input. for me, i have a ps3, xbox 360 and a tivo hd which each have digital optical output so i had to buy a switch. other than that i love it.

The sound quality is excellent for the price. I've hooked up the DVD player through the digital input, and my computer through the analog input jacks. It would be nice to have more digital inputs, but I can live with this. The subwoofer works great with the PC games.

For a set of computer speakers, look no further. Subwoofer is huge and easily turned down or up with remote. Sound is very good overall. Would buy again and recommend to anyone. Remote makes everything very easy to control. The only problems that I have had after 1 month of use are that the connection with the speaker wires was sometimes weak, so I ended up buying new ones for the satellites. Also, the cables between the PC and control unit weren't long enough for my setup so I had to buy new ones. Sound is great and I enjoy these speakers.

It was the best $18 I have spent. I am so happy with them. They plug in and bam. The nice think is you can also use headphones with them. I can also plug in my mini-ipod too. The are loud enough for my office. I can listen to streaming podcast. I don't have to strain my ears to listen. I would recommend it to anyone. I even got my co-worker to buy a pair for his office.

These speakers are a great value for the sound quality. The subwoofer works great with the speakers. I use these to listen to music and they are great for me. The cords allow for you to spread out the speakers and I hung them around the room on the walls and I think that it is great.

This system is worth every penny. You can adjust this system in so many ways you can't be unhappy with it. In the control panel under sound and audio devices, advanced speaker settings. Also sound effect manager be sure to configer your sound card for 5.1 surround sound. The speakers are heavy and the sub is great. If I didn't know better I would say this system would cost $ 400.00 to $500.00 Very pleased.

i like these speakersim 16 and like my music LOUD and have a nice bassthese speakers do just thati have them on my comptueri had them with the onboard sound and the quality was surprisingly goodthen opted for a different sound card and it got a hell of alot betterall in all these are loud speakers with amazin qualityget them

This little puppy rocks!! After adjusting the volume settings on 3 remotes and devices (Yes, I am very picky), well, let's just say that I have to keep the volume down. After listening to this system hooked up to my TV for just 1 hour, I turned the system off (for testing the audible difference), and found that I could Never go back to my TV only speakers. WOW is the word! This is great for "Gadget Freaks" like myself who just want to start small and inexpensive. If you have RCA Audio Out L/R (Red & White - You will also need an AV Cable both ends male to run from included adapter to TV) jacks on your TV, this system comes with the necessary adapter to hook it up to your TV. It took me a total of 3 minutes to set it up. A Breeze! Get 'em and see what kind of set up you can come up with. Yes, I know these are PC speakers, but for what I am doing I needed them to be compatible with my TV as well.

This isnt a high end hi-fi or surround sound, but for $18 it puts most boom boxes to shame and is perfect for work or office listening - ie if you dont need to shake the windows or party till you blow chunks but dont want to spend a day listening to a tinny trebly ear shredding cheap'n'nastys I would recommend these highly. Rounded and copes with most music styles. Sometimes would be nice to adjust the bass (down!) but what do you expect for $20!

I think the speakers are good value for the price. The one flaw that I have found is the base volume over powers the rest of the music. If there was a way to control it I would have any complaints at all.

I own a macbook, thus am subject to junky internal speakers all day. Im too cheap to buy $100+ speakers and instead of buying the usual 10$ Logitechs im used to I splurged on these. Its easily worth the $30. While they arent huge powerhouses, they get loud enough for a bunch people to listen to music while playing beer pong or whatnot.

After reading some of the reviews, I was very skeptical when I bought these speakers--I almost didn't buy them! The speakers that came on my laptop were very weak, and barely audible at times--with no hardware glitches. Making listening to music or watching DVD's an almost worthless exercise in futility.On connecting these speakers (wire lengh was NOT an issue with me), I found that the quality of sound from these speakers to be a pleasant surprise! The depth of sound is incredible (from such small boxes), and rivals that of dedicated sound systems.Tones are crisp and clear, with good differentiation and clarity. The only con (if you can call it that) is that at very high volumes, the bass seems to crackle a bit. However, if you are listening at that level, your hearing is in jeapordy.All in all, a good, PORTABLE, value for an addition to a laptop!If you are an audiophile, you might be disappointed with ANYTHING less than concert quality. Since the rest of us live outside a concert hall, these speakers will do nicely!

I am very happy with these speakers.I replaced a cheap 2.1 set of speakers, and this sub-woofer is much better sounding than what I had before. Of course you could get even better sound by spending a lot more money, but I believe these are a very good value.Remember you might need to reconfigure Windows and/or your BIOS and/or your Sound Card for a 5.1 speaker setup. When you are properly setup, you do NOT need to turn on the "Matrix" feature. That is only needed when you connect it to a simple stereo source like a video game console. Your computer will "upgrade" your stereo music to a 5.1 signal when configured correctly, so like I said, you can leave the Matrix button turned off when connected to your computer.The only negative, as others have shared, is the CABLES ARE SHORT. Add $15 to the price to include a trip to Radio Shack for some RCA extension cables.I am stilling giving this a 5-start rating, since I knew about the cable length issue before I bought it.

I'm a college student, and the only reason I wanted these speakers is because the speakers on the MacBook suck. There speakers were Logitech, which I trust, and they happened to be much cheaper than anything else on the market. Besides, they work fine, I don't see why anyone would need anything more expensive... unless you're looking for surround sound or something...:)

Unless you're out to rock your neighbor's house with a computer speaker setup, this little master piece will do just fine. At this point, I'd dub this set as the "pound for pound" champ--the best bang for the buck--speaker system I've used or bought. Easily worth over $100, won't rival $200+ systems, but wont rock the neighbors either. For only $50 with free shipping (if you can get it)??? No brainer...easily worth the upgrade over regular speakers and most non-highend 5.1 speakers. It has the headphone jack on the speaker as well...very good setup. go get one :)

For the price, these are a great set of speakers. Only drawback--the wires are a bit too short if you really want to spread them around a room. The sound is really respectable. I think Logitech has wireless speakers now, but you're going to PAY for them. These can still be found online for under $60.

These speakers are fine, average speakers. The only thing I dislike about them is the power button; when pushed in, the speaker moves and so you need to use another hand to hold the speaker from behind. My old speakers clicked off when you turned the volume dial all the way down (a better design in my opinion). Otherwise, I have no complaints about these speakers.

If you're looking to upgrade from those desktop speakers or (if you're like me) are sick and tired of listening to your laptop's speakers, these are a great buy. Good, full sound for what these speakers cost. The sub packs a decent punch and I was impressed at how much sound the speakers put out for their size. The wires could be longer (they won't make it across a standard dorm-sized room) but if you're just looking for cheap sound, buy these.

For 34% of retail price, I dont think I am allowed to complain (given that people called it a good price when it was much higher.) But I don't have anything to complain about anyways. In terms of sound quality, the speakers are great. I have mine hooked up with a digital optical cable, and sound is perfect. People say that size matters with low-wattage speakers, and in my medium-sized family room home theatre PC setup, we've got the volume about half way from the max.While the rear speakers aren't really wireless, since they have to be plugged into a power outlet, power outlets are much easier to find than attempting to string 30 feet of speaker wire somewhere. I can just unplug one rear speaker, take it to the next floor of my house, plug it in upstairs, and listen to music there, with no loss in audio quality!I also like the very small footprint of the receiver. Compare the z-5450's size of a cable modem to the size of an actual home theatre receiver (which is the size of a desktop computer on its side). That huge receiver is really an unnecessary eye-soar. But don't think you're losing out due to the lack of a "real" receiver. This system comes with two digital optical (toslink) inputs which is better than many receivers. It also has a digital coax input. If you are hooking this up to a computer with the 3.5 mm jacks to get 5.1 surround sound, it has an input for that too. However, if the one digital optical input is good enough, you can turn the 5.1 sound input into three stereo sound inputs- equivalent to what you would find in a huge receiver. It also has an extra stereo sound input on the side, and a microphone output. So don't worry about not being able to connect all your gear!Overall, I highly recommend these speakers. These are Logitech's most expensive high-end speakers at the moment, at a price that cannot be beat.

This is the best set of speakers I've owned. The SPDIF connection between the speakers and the computer provides a very clean sound and minimal distortion at high volume.

Great sound, short wires. Works great with my pc onboard sound. The wires could have been a bit longer, but you can always add on easily. I have the speakers around my desk so I really don't need a lot of length. mp3's sound great.

For the price this speaker set is worth it, but having experienced a Z-5500 set, this set is easily blown away by it. But then again the Z-5500 is nearly 5x the price so i guess you cant really compare them. The bass isn't too clear and the rear speaker cables are a bit short. Other than that I'd recommend these as a starter 5.1 speaker set.

A typically poor quality Logitech item. After ONE day of owning this, the display unit malfunctioned and does not display anything. I am now 3 for 3 with junk Logitech items. My web cam fell apart after two weeks, my Free Pulse headphones broke after 3 weeks and this item broke after 1 day. Yet another disappointment from Logitech. Amazon, on the other hand, is being great about returning and replacing.

Great product. Wireless setup works best if you have an outlet on the wall behind you. No need for extension cords then. While the system isnt competely wireless, it does do away with traditional speaker wire to the two satelite speakers. Awesome bass. A few weeks after purchasing this system I dropped one of the wireless speakers and it stopped working. Amazon had another entire system shipped and at my house BEFORE I had the old one boxed up! Great service.

i hooked these up to an airport express and i don't know if i can live without them. maybe not these specific speakers, although they do sound great and for the price you can't really beat them. i definitely recommend these.

Fantastic little speakers. I don't expect to see them in use in concert halls or opera houses anytime soon, but they are a welcome addition in my home. I've tried various "plug and play" speakers before, but these leave nothing lacking. There is no external wall wart to crowd your already over-extended surge protector, and no batteries to replace. The supplied carrying case is well made, and makes you want to carry them with you wherever you go. An excellent product, as you would expect from Logitech!

I must say these speakers pack a big sound for their size.Very clear overall sound and nice bass AND they are compact and easy to throw in a bag. I just plugged in the usb and windows detected them and theyworked! Buy these, you'll be happy you did.

Ordered this same speaker set previously and the control center was defective. Ordered a fresh set and everything works great this time!I have my computer, PS3, and Cable (all digital connections) going into the unit. It rocks all three! A must have if you want digital for all your devices! :)

Just bought it with the free ground shipping. I expected it to take 2-3 days. It took only 1 day to deliver (from NV to CA) though this is only ground shipping. The shipping is FAST!!! Price is the cheapest.For those who want to know, the PID # is 710 for the unit I got. So it's supposed to be free of the pop problem that older units had. But time will tell.Volume is more than sufficient for a small to medium living room. For movie, it's definitely good enough (better than most of the theatre in a box system in the sub-300 price range.)Sound quality for movie is not that demanding so this system with the powerful subwoofer can deliver enough theatre experience. I would need to turn up the front speakers to increase the mid range though. For pure music, I'd think it's just ok. But again, I seldom listen to just music so it's not an issue.The big selling point to me is the integrated receiver feature as it takes optical, coaxial, and stereo.The only complain I have is that the cable from the subwoofer to the control pod is too short and you cannot extend it. Of course you can use the remote, but you can't see the display if the control pod is placed too far away.All in all, it's a great package if you are considering a home theatre in a box solution for less than 300.

For the price: These are tough, sturdy attractive looking speakers. In fact, better than most. The treble is excellent and the mid-range is near perfect. The bass is a high-bass, so don't expect your desk to rumble, but the overall quality of sound is very good. There is distortion after a ? turn of the dial. The orange "on" light is a bit bright (I'd prefer blue or green, but that is a minor concern). The volume control does make a pronounced difference in loudness (most speakers systems don't), but the tone control varies only in the absence of bass. It is easy to set up and there is a convenient headphone jack and a single male plug for external music sources.

I bought these for my girlfriend's Toshiba laptop. We often watch movies in the living room, where electrical outlets are at a premium in her small apartment. With these USB-powered speakers, it's as simple as opening the sturdy case (included, which is nice) and plugging them in.Other reviews mention the power of these speakers, and it's true -- just turning them to half volume results in loud, clear, non-distorted sound, perfect for watching movies or working on the computer in a small space.

I purchased these laptop speakers for a portable video editing system. I need speakers that reproduce audio fairly accurately and, for the size and the price, find these speakers to do a great job. They're small enough to be able to pack them into an oversized laptop case. I love the single USB connection, which frees up my headset jack for other needs.The only two drawbacks I find so far is because of their small size, you can't crank them without getting some distortion and lower frequencies aren't as great as if you had a subwoofer. But at normal sound levels, these speakers are really great!

Recieved these as a christmas gift and couldn't have made a better selection myself. Small package with big sound. Very impressed with them overall. They do bounce around when you have em cranked with a lot of bass(long live Rock n Roll), so I set em on a piece of rubber shelf liner(same stuff I use in the shop to sand on) and they just sit there and boom away. My sweetheart did a great job selecting these speakers and I couldn't be more pleased. Highly recommend.

I thought the Klipsch Promedia 5.1 speakers that I had before this were great - I didn't expect these to blow them out of the water.The build quality is amazing. Every component is heavy & solid, and a LOT bigger than I expected. In particular, the subwoofer is practically double the size the the already big Klipsch unit.The included remote is useful & responsive.And most importantly, the sound quality is AMAZING. Seriously, when you play music on these speakers you will notice a difference, even if you're a half-deaf bloak like me. So clear and crisp.I rarely post reviews, but these speakers were so surprisingly satisfying that I just had to spread the word.

Logitech Z-5500 THX-Certified 505-Watt 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System Upon doing some researching for my next computer speakers, I stumbled upon these speakers from Logitech. All of the reviews gave these speakers kudos. After purchasing them and using them, the only negative I have encountered is the sometimes poor sound from the center channel, like it can't handle the output or something. The bass is great from the subwoofer. Overall, I would give this speaker set an 8 out of 10

Purchased for my office, as laptop speakers. They are heavy but have a great sound for the price. Former Altec Lansing failed and were replaced with these ones. Very good choice.

I brought these speakers because the built in sound on my Apple Powerbook G4 (12") is so poor.While they are a significant improvement both in volume and overall sound quality, my main concern is that the speakers don't quite have the volume I was hoping for.This could have something to do with the fact that they play through the USB and I get the feeling apple has put some sort of sound limit on the computer or something.
