Logitech has really come along way I replaced my Home Surround system with the Z-5450. It's a great product all around. The wireless rear speakers are what really sold me on this device. It has plenty of inputs and for the space I'm using it in sounds great. I'm not sure it would do as well in a larger room but in my condo it's perfect.

These speaker are ok for the money. It would be better if they had a bass control on the bass speaker. That is my only real complaint.

The Logitech X-540 5.1 are pretty decent speakers for the price, $80 bucks. I don't need to peel paint for my computer, be it for first person shooters, like Call Of Duty 4, for hearing the Outlook and Windows sounds, or for listening to my Doobie Brothers, Eagles, Styx, Journey, Kansas, 38 Special, etc. CDs.The X-540 is OK.

I only have a laptop and a tiny desk, so these speakers are more than adequate for me. They have good quality sound for the price. They were a little bigger than what I was expecting (about 9-10 inches high) but work well and overall, I'm happy with my purchase.

They're not loud, they're too small, and they have no bass. The "subwoofer" is about 1.5 inches and they sound like garbage. I would say they are worth about $15 at the most. Don't buy speakers for your laptop that hook up using a USB cable.

I decided I had to get new speakers because my cell phone caused ear shattering interference with my cheap cyber acoustic speakers. These Logitech speakers do not get any interference, they sound great, and they were cheap. They even came with a subwoofer that sounds pretty good. I highly recommend these speakers for anyone who wants great speakers but does not want to pay an arm and a leg.

This is a good product for what your pay for it, I don't know if there are any better p/c speakers in this price range but I did end up purchasing a pair of Klipsch 2.1 speakers after I bought these only because the total wattage these put out wasn't loud enough for what I wanted, but you could do alot worse if they only put out 50 watts rms, I would have been totally satisfied with these.

I've had these speakers for a while now and I'm very impressed with their quality. They sound great, especially for the price. Excellent build quality. Logitech has never disappointed me. I have them hooked up to my PC which has an HD DVD player and I get great sound out of them. My only complaints would be the wired remote which is tethered to the subwoofer and the wires are a tad too short for my liking. But overall, a great purchase.

Ok - ordered maybe 5 days before Christmas-found the lowest price anywhere with FREEE SHIPPING on an item that is really HEAVY! Opted for the regular free shipping and knowing that it would come after Christmas because of my procrastination. Could pay ALOT for shipping and get it quick or just wait - I chose waiting. Guess what? Item was delivered in just ONE (1) day - for free! I say PERFECT, don't you?

Impressive. Very Impressive. I own a lot of high end seakers & equipment includin BOSE, JBL, & Boston Aqustics and I cant say how impressed I im with this system. I hooked this up to my laptop and what can I say the sound is amazing dare I say almost as good as the higher end stuff. This syystem is perfect for a small room and totally ROCKS on any thing i have hooked up to it (PC, DVD, CD,MP3) and yep I even hooked it to my up to compliment my higher end equipment and i am Just amazed. There are a few minor things (like cable lenth) but nothing too serious to mention. You donot have to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars or go to trendy stores to get "brand Names" for a quality 5.1 system. Logitech has made this affordible for every one and it is a system you can be proud to own. I only wish I found these gems a lot earlier. I cant speak highly enough of this system. Real quality from top to bottom and will satisfiy almost every audiophile. Deep rich bass, crystal clear audio... Do not miss this system you will not reget it. Way to go Logitech!!! One of my all time favorite purchases from amazon.

I bought the Logitech V20 Notebook speakers to boost my widescreen laptop's movie playing capabilities.So far, after two months, I can say the speakers have not disappointed. The bass, midrange and treble sound strong and clear, and the ease of the USB connection means the speakers in their case are light to carry around. I can carry the case in my laptop bag (albeit with a bulge).Cons:The control buttons on top of the speaker get getting used to, as they don't feel responsive when you push them, and you kind of just have to hear the difference.The speakers are on the light side, which while great for carrying around, means that they can vibrate at loud volumes with bass.Peak volume is limited by USB power, but you should already know that.Conclusion:The cons are really insignificant compared to the price, sound quality and convenience of these speakers. They are an excellent buy.

I got these for my mom for Christmas as replacement speakers for her G5's internal speakers. we usually use these speakers at 1/4-1/2 volume. Just a hint, the subwoofer goes on the floor. They're great desk speakers and not bad if you walk away to do something away from your computer. I'm debating if i should buy a second one for my computer! [will make walls next to the subwoofer vibrate, not shake]

Though the x-540 system has sufficient sound for a small room environment, it lacks strength in the low end ranges. In spite of the sub-woofer and graphic equalizer enhancement controls, you will not be able achieve sharp booming bass from this system. The low end has tendency to be a little muddy. The EAX adjustment feature does provide some additional depth to the overall performance which is best utilized for gaming. However, as a music entertainment system attached to your computer, it will prove somewhat disappointing with it's low end limitations

These speakers are great for an under $20 set. For everyday watching movies, playing games, or listening to music, these speakers do the trick. The bass box is nice and tiny, but still puts out good sound. They can handle some pretty high volumes without any problems, and the bass would have your neighbors banging on the walls.Pros: Nice and small, good sound, great price.Cons: no independent bass control (have to use equalizers)Logitech did a great job on these tiny speakers. Budget minded consumers will be very happy with these.

Pros: Lightweight and portable with carrying case. Power comes fromUSB connection. Sound is an upgrade from internal laptop speakers.Cons: Low power. Sound gets distorted if volume is turned all the way up.For classical music or turning up a rock song a bit get more watts. Laptop sometimes does not recognize the hardware. Don't pay more than$20 regardless of list price since that is all they are worth.

i received these as a chritmas gift to go with my Dell XPS 1530 laptop, Windows vista home premium recognized them as soon as the were plugged in. They are great speakers for music, as well as video games, i play WoW (world of warcraft) and they sound great.If you're looking for concert sound, these are not for you... but if its good sound and highly portable you're looking for, def. pick these up

This system has got the goods and the bads just as I expected them to be. I'll put things pointwise:- Value for money! - Can't get a system as complete as this [with the control pod cum decoder ..etc.] for 25000 Indian Rupees.- The Sub "booms" - mind you, this one won't give you a tight punchy articulate bass. If there's an explosion in the movie you're watching you'll hear and feel it alright but don't expect bass strings to sound resolved on this Sub. I'll like to discuss this matter in a little detail: The older model z680 had a 8 inch woofer as compared to the 10 incher on this one, but the power has remained the same - 188 watts. Now subwoofer construction is a complex subject, especially when you are considering a 10 inch woofer. Most PC speaker systems have about 6 inch woofers. One can expect to push that to 8 inches. But frankly making a 10 inch woofer and making it sound articulate is in my opinion beyond a company that specialises in computer peripherals. Secondly, the notorious shortcoming of Subwoofer-Satellite systems is the lack of coherence between the Subwoofer and Satellites. The bass and highs are taken care of but the midrange suffers. Now this shortcoming will only be exaggerated when the woofer size is increased from 8 to 10 inches making it even more difficult to bridge this gap between the low and high frequencies. Thirdly, a 10 inch woofer will take more than 188 watts to be properly controlled. Most 10 inch woofers are powered by 250 watts or more. Logitech having enjoyed good success with z680 have pushed the envelope by replacing a 8 inch woofer by a 10 incher. I think this effort should have been directed elsewhere. An excellent solution is what Klipsch [A speaker specialist] has done - used 2 8 inch woofers instead of 1 10 incher. This solves 2 problems : one is that such a woofer would in some ways be easier to make. Secondly, with a single woofer room interactions can get very problematic causing booming at some frequencies. Infact room interactions are an almost incurable disease in the subwoofer breed. The only satisfactory solution is to have more than 1 woofer!But all in all the sub is alright. It gives a good visceral impact. the bass output is kinda variable. At times is excessive but sometimes you gotta turn it up.- The control pod is fine. The signal decoding works without a glitch.- No complains regarding the Remote. The good thing about the remote is that the button layout is simple and feel of the buttons is good.- About the satellites - well nothing much to say about them. They are above average in terms of sonic clarity. Construction is good.- Although the other reviewers have mentioned that this system is loud enough to scare you neighbour, I beg to differ. It gets loud but not so loud. A related point is that there is absolutely no distortion at max volume - indeed commendable. But is the max volume deliberately kept low so as to avoid distortion? Anybody's guess!Overall I'm happy with the system - be it movies or music. [I'm not a gamer]. There are no serious flaws. It has the shortcomings that most sub/sat systems have. A point of improvement would be the subwoofer. I guess logitech should toughen up the woofer [now that they are committed to 10 in woofers!]. It vibrates quite a deal and need more bracing and more power.Guess that'll be it.

These speakers are a great addition to my new computer. Clear and crisp sound. The subwoffer is not overwhelming. Did not know what I was missing until I bought these speakers. $20.00 less at Amazon compared to Best Buy. The remote volume control is a great convenience.

I've had nothing but compliments from these speakers. For the price, you really cannot find anything better. Bass is rich, treble is lovely and every tone in between sounds fantastic. I've never had any problems with them after several years. I liked them so much, I bought my husband a set for his birthday last year! He loves them just as much as I do, and he couldn't believe that they were so inexpensive.

If you are looking for a real satisfactory auido system this is a good product. I am in college and these are great dorm speakers and also good for bedroom system. But if you are looking for for a real bass pounder and good real crisp sound system this is not for you. The sound is ok, and the bass satifactory. However, it seems as if volume and bass power begins to decrase over time.

I was excited to receive these speakers due to the good reviews that I had read. The speakers worked fine with my new computer for a couple of months. Now, the sound is awful and the mix is out of whack. I wish I had better things to say about this set. I'm looking for a new set now.

for computer speakers, these things rock, its rich full of features and i can connect them to any device needing sound ranging from my ps3, my laptop, or to my lcd hdtv. it offers coaxial, optical and direct sound options so i hav everything plugged into it. the subwoofer is awesome. its like an earthquake in my apt and its so crisp. logitech has outdone itself, i dont know how they can ever make any better speakers than these, but if they did, i'd def hav to hav them. these r remarkable speakers...

Until now I have used a 200 watt Sony stereo system hooked up to my computer. Sound quality on that system is decent, but it is big and bulky, and the amp hisses a little. I was looking for an affordable set of 5.1 speakers that could be used primarily for music playback as well as occasional use for games and movies. I bought the Logitech X-530 based on several online reviews, hailing this system as the best sub-$100 system for music as well as gaming and movies. The two drivers in each satellite seemed to me a little large for quality treble, and a little small for mid range, but the reviews seemed to indicate otherwise. I have not heard the other systems in this price range, but my suspicions were correct, and the X-530 is bellow my standards for music (but passable for gaming and movies).I received these speakers from Amazon in about 3 days (even with super saver shipping!) upon their arrival I immediately set them up and put them to test.Excited at the prospect of surround sound I first tried Medal of Honor, a game that has been lauded for its surround sound, then Call of Duty, Counterstrike etc. While the physical setup of the speakers had been a snap (plugging, attaching them to the walls etc.), the audio setup was not so easy. In each of the games I tried, L and R front was very strong, but Center and L and R surround were almost non existent. I was able to balance the speakers using the software suite provided by Creative Labs with my Live! Sound card, but each game was different, making quitting and restart each game until the sound was balanced a trying, trial and error affair. Dials for surround and center volume would have been much appreciated! Once the sound was balanced, I did enjoy the surround effects in each of the games, and the sub woofer added a visceral amount of boom to the explosions.My experience with movies was similar, but the system's inherent shortcomings began to come through. Audio physics states that bright, focused treble is best produced by a small driver, and middle range sound requires a slightly larger surface area to move the air for solid mid-range sound. The dialogue and sweeping soundtrack in the movies I used to test the speakers soon showed that the dual drivers were inadequate for their job. It was clear that satellites were in capable of producing the full range of human speech, and that the sub woofer was picking up the mid bass, as many of the voices (men especially) boomed out from underneath the desk, rather than coming crisply out of the center channel. Even very deep-voiced men don't shake the floor when they talk! A decent amount of treble was present, but unfocused and muddy. Sharp metallic and other high range sound effects were present, but without any discernible place in the sound stage.With some consternation I continued my test in the way of music. Here, the last remnants of the speakers' respectability fell to pieces. The speakers were woefully inadequate for full range music, with a huge gaping hole of mid range between big, boomy, inaccurate bass and messy, confusing treble. The harmonics were missing, leaving instead a thin treble melody backed by mushy sinus collapsing bass. Classical music sounded like your basic $30 carry boom box with a lot of bass. Bright upper harmonics were completely absent. Choral works were unbearably floppy and messy in presentation. With the booming bass and tinny treble I got headache after about a half hour, and not because I was listening too loud (I wasn't)After a week or so of deliberations, I'm packing these up. There is simply no reason for me to own a set of speakers that are solely suited for gaming, which I do only occasionally. These speakers sound very good for their size. The physical design is superb. They are compact and come with a great hardshell carrying case that's a little smaller than a typical text book.They sound very good up to about 80% power. After that, they start to distort a little.These are perfect to use when ambient noise is not too loud and you want to power your sound via your computer's USB port.

I bought a new computer and the internal speakers were not what I wanted. So I purchased the logitech speakers for under 40 dollars and what a great buy. The speakers are exactly what I wanted and are great quality. You cant find a better product for a better price. Easy to plug and play, sharp looking, and create a great sound. Probably the best buy for me in 2007.

These speakers have a great sound, with adjustable tone range. It also has a very easy access headset jack and another jack to plug in a MP3 player or any other audio device to use the speakers. I pluged in my portable XM Radio for a super sound. The only issue I had was the size of the speakers. I was looking for more portability with my laptop. These speakers are far to large for that. It was my fault for not reading the details of there size as it was clearly stated if I had looked close enough. However, the sound was so good, I decidied to replace my desktop speakers and these speakers work great.

Wonderful USB powered speakers. I purchased for my laptop which has real dull sound (like most). The sound is about as good as the powered ones I have on a desktop. They even match my laptop. Im very pleased.

Pro: Sounds great! The look fits nicely with my black monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc...Con: The bright orange colored light indicator (when the speakers are "on") is a little distracting, but only if I am looking directly at that one speaker with the light, so that is not really a problem. I would have preferred a cooler color such as green or blue for the "on" indicator light. Also, the staticky sound the speakers make when they are first turned on is annoying, but it only occurs at the instant the speakers transition from off to on by using the dial. However, I am starting to get used to this staticky sound after hearing it for a while now every time I turn the speakers on.Conclusion: If you can overlook the two cons I listed, I would definitely recommend these speakers.
