I ordered these speakers June 18, 2007 for $30, I figured they deserved a review for still playing like new.They have received semi-daily use for the last five and a half years.I must have dropped them over a dozen times, no signs of damage (other then some cosmetic scuffs and dents)They are by no means audiophile speakers, but they do have a great sound for $25.Clear highs and mids, but the bass is sometimes lacking.I have a 5.1 system hooked up through an optical cable for watching movies and listening to FLACS.I use these speakers for youtube videos, the occasional tv show, games, and mp3 music.If you are looking for a great pair of speakers that are tough and have a pretty great sound, buy em'I'll post an update in 5 more years, provided the world doesn't end.

These speakers are much better than the freebie ones you get with a new pc. At first they seemed a bit cumbersome, but the large base stand can be hidden under a desk. The volume control is its own special piece of equipment which at first seemed weird, but it allows for the speakers to be placed out of reach like behind the monitor, and the little volume control can then be positioned within reach. All in all, we use these speakers all the time for a variety of music while working and are very glad to have them.

I love the Logitech Z205 speakers, but I would not recommend this to anyone that is ham-fisted. Everyone else buy and enjoy the great sound!con: USB plug design. Every time I go to remove the unit I end up pulling on the USB plug. It sticks out and has a very similar tactile feel as the clip mount. The mount is spring loaded and sticks out the back. It's not surprising people are breaking the USB port. It should have been flatter or recessed more. Who wants to find and purchase a special USB cable because of a poor port design? It actually sticks out farther than the clip mount tab.Overall: Aside from the USB plug on the back it's a perfect design. Compared to my built in Oem speakers I feel like I'm sitting in front of Bose speakers. They are not Bose quality sounding it's just that my Acer Aspire 3680 speakers are that bad.Mount: The spring clip works well. It even stayed in-place when the kids bumped the computer. (enough to spin the computer 45 degrees)Side note mount reference: I just wish they used this mount for their web cams. Logitech 720p Webcam C310 mount works, but can be frustrating. We gave a C310 to grandpa for video chatting with the kids. He modified his with a rubber-band.Sound: A nice crisp well bodied sound producer. It does have a "hint" of deeper than natural sound. It defiantly does not compare to a high-end 5 speaker setup, but for a clip on mobile speaker it has fantastic sound. The Z205 set @ 30-vol is louder than the laptops built-in speakers @ 100-vol. I have only used the USB connection.FYI: On a technical note. Usb based audio products needs to be plugged in before you start the video, game, video chat, etc. Your built in speakers have a chip on the mother board that gets locked by the operating system when it starts processing audio. The Z205 has a chip that takes over this function when you plug it in. When the Operating system assigns the job for the video/game it locks it to the assigned chip/driver. You have to close the video, etc then restart it after you have plugged the USB speakers in. This is a Base function of the Operating system not the Z205. (Will happen with any USB based audio device & Windows. I'm pretty sure Linux and Apple's OS would handle this in the same way Windows does.)* not purchased via Amazon. I received it as a gift.

I was a little concerned that these speakers, at only 5 watts and *very* light, wouldn't be loud enough. Turns out they're plenty loud enough to not only fill the 15'x12' room I keep them in, but I can clearly hear them in the rest of the house as well.Sound quality is excellent, considering how inexpensive the speakers are. I mainly use them for classical and jazz, and they cover the whole dynamic range very well for both, giving a full, natural sound -- not at all tinny like the smaller Logitechs. Even the midrange isn't bad, which is rare at this price level.I also tried some Massive Attack & Portishead -- the bass was a little weak-sounding and muddy for these. If you really need a strong bass with big volume, then a 2.1 system or the Bose Companions might be a better choice, but for general listening or computer use, these are a pretty amazing value.

these speakers are so good i replaced my bose speakers on my main computer with them. from gaming to music they are much better than the bose, which were much more expensive. wish i had know about these speakers before i spent that money.speakers are packaged well, heavier than expected, which helps them stay on my desk better than others have, have great volume and bass and treble are both well defined during music listening. very good speakers will see about durability as time rolls along.

I bought these trying to replace a low end Logitech model that had begun shorting out. The volume with these cranked up all the way is a fraction of what my older, cheaper speakers put out and I don't think the sound quality could possibly be more inferior than it is.I was skeptical when reading the reviews of others that stated they couldn't get any sound out of these speakers. I foolishly thought, "They just need to go into the control panel and change the settings. It can't be that bad. I never crank my music or videos so I'm sure it'll be fine." I'm not an audio-phile either so I didn't think I would notice a big difference in the quality. Obviously I was wrong on both counts. If I can tell these things sound bad, then so can you!Do not buy these speakers.

Sound is good, Better and louder than the onboard it replaces. Won't fill a big room or overcome alot of ambient noise. Base is not very deep. It attaches easy with just a USB connection and the driver was seamless. I saw a review that complained of fine adjustment limitations at low levels; they must thave corrected that in the driver or perhaps it is dependent on the computer itself, as I have been impressed at the low volume adjustment. Also, this thing works GREAT for Skype and Webex meetings- no echo or feedback, nice and clear. The clip is nice and strong- stays on till you take it off.I may buy a higher end unit in the future for crisper, deeper sound, but this one filled the bill fine for 25 bucks.

No wonder everyone is out of stock on this item! For the price of $45, it cranks on both my TV and audio systems. I hooked it up to my equalizer and keep the matrix on to achieve the "surround" effect and I'm very satisfied with the product. Has no remote operation but that doesn't bother me at all. Love the base boost control dial as well. Last night I was watching "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World", and when that car flew over the cliff, it went right over my head! No complaints whatsoever.

I have been using this Logitech Speaker System with my small TV in my bedroom. While it provides a solid sound system for my small bedroom, I couldn't see this working effectively in a room much bigger than a standard bedroom. It allows my TV to become much louder and it almost provides a "surround sound" effect. It provides quality high and low tones, with a solid bass background.The Logitech Speaker System would probably be most effective as a computer speaker set-up. However, with my small TV it is more than sufficient, providing a much better sound than the basic speaker that comes standard with my TV. It is small and unobtrusive, taking up minimal space in my bedroom.If you're looking for a system to power up your big screen TV with movie quality this is not the one for you. But if you have a small television or computer in a smaller room you will be happy with this speaker system.

I have had these speakers since the fall of 2006, and I honestly haven't felt the need to replace them. The sound quality is UNMATCHED for $99 (when I bought them), and has been better than other speakers I've bought in the interim to replace these when I lost 1 of the satellite speakers.I am VERY imrpessed with the build quality of Logitech, and that these have held up for so long. When I have to (finally) buy a new set of speakers, I can assure you it will be Logitech!

I bought these for a very fair price and have been very impressed at the sound quality. There's two knobs, one for volume, one for bass. If you're into bass, it does give a pretty good amount and the volume can be quite loud. One unexpected feature is a 3.5mm auxiliary jack which means you can plug in a double sided headphone cable and use a music player through them. Overall I would recommend these desktop speakers to anyone.

I just received this product, unfortunately under this output does not sound bad and the respective horn on that side, I will take it to a qualified technician for inspection to see if it can be repaired, I hope so .. I would have liked a little more bass but I suppose that would have required some kind of woofer. Fits nicely at the top or on the side of my laptop, very light adding very little weight to my computer. I like the fact it plugs directly into my computer, eliminating the need for an additional power cord. The velcro on the clip did come off after a few 'clippings' however, not really a 'big' problem.

I cannot stress how impressed I am with these z110 Logitech Speakers. It's almost like as if they took two speakers from the Logitech X-540 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System with Subwoofer and put a little woofer in these. These speakers, for the $10 I spent at Fry's for Black Friday blew me away. You will be surprised at how clear the sound is. There is definite bass when listening to music and playing games with lows (explosions, footseps, gun shots, etc.)What I loved...* How portable it is. Very light and easy to move around.* The design is very good. It's powered with USB and connected with a headphone jack. It's well designed with hooks behind the speakers for cable management.* Clear and crisp sound. As I mentioned, the sound is impressive. Clear sound at the low, medium, and the highest volume. It doesn't break off sounding raspy even when you blast the sound.* Bass and strong lows. Explosions, gun shots, background music, and the bass of music all come to life.Drawbacks/Could be improved* There's no cover to protect the speakers. In part of the cheap price, there's no protection or front mesh/grill to cover the speakers.* Yellow light on the right speaker can be a little annoying. I just cover it with a little piece of tape.* Headphone jack isn't as long as I would like. That's easily solved with an inexpensive extension chord.* No knob to control volume. The Logitech Z120 speakers do have the knob.Overall, these speakers deliver crisp, clear, and impressive sound, all in the added plus of portability. Now, I can easily use these around the house or whenever I need to use it elsewhere. It's almost as if Logitech put a mini woofer in these speakers. Certainly not the case, but it sure feels like it. Great purchase and highly recommended!!

I'm thrilled with these speakers. I know I sound just like a paid reviewer, but I'm not. I'm delighted - considering the price, these lightweight little speakers worked instantly, really well, and consistently. I hate deep base or high treble in speakers. These sound really natural and "easy" to my ears. I don't crank up the volume (HATE volume) so I can't speak to that aspect of them. I move my laptop around in my apartment a lot and these speakers are easy to move around with the laptop, and difinetly add

Speakers are good, drivers are decent.Tone control has minimal effect on sound quality boost. You're better off using the equalizer from your computer or mp3 player. It does have a aux port to use for an mp3 player so that is a bonus.Speakers has a sleek look. I used this for work so this isn't by any means in the performance range of speakers. If you need something that is a little better than mediocre at best, this should be it. In this price range, this is probably one of the best you can get.

I love this speaker. I had reservations about buying it since I've never personally had good experiences with Logitech products in the past. But this is a great fit for me. I mainly use it for watching movies and sometimes playing music on my laptop. It does a great job of increasing the volume and the quality of the sound. The clamp design has rubber strips on both sides of the clamp which makes it quite stable and it doesn't easily get knocked off or move around. The only downsides I can find are that it is a bit clunky to keep on when trying to close your laptop, its fixed position, and that the cord is a bit short for my 17" laptop, nothing too major. I have been using it for about a year now and have never had issues with it cutting out or any of the pieces breaking.

I've had this system for 6 years and use it CONSTANTLY. Why? Because these speakers continue to melt my face with raw power. They have different modes for music and movies, Dolby Pro Logic II, THX, DTS, the works. You can even listen to two inputs at the same time. I've used this system to play guitar with backing tracks playing and it sounds superb. The subwoofer will shake your entire house if used properly. The sound quality is absolutely STUNNING. You can really hear the difference in this system. You will hear new instruments in songs you've heard a dozen times already with other speaker sets. I can't praise Logitech enough for creating such an amazing system.

I am a church music director and just got these for my office computer. For the price I couldn't imagine a better pair of speakers, in fact I am considering getting some for my family computer. The mid-range is very clear, and I am hearing qualities of instruments that I didn't hear with the previous speakers. The bass is strong but not too boom-y. I have the volume turned up halfway and that is plenty. The highs are nice---I listened to Beverly Sills and when she hit the highest notes there was some distortion. I wouldn't call these audiophile speakers, but for a pleasing sound from your computer, these beat anything in this price range by far!

Really like these speakers. Bought because the speakers that come with my laptop are horrible (why do they install such crappy speakers on laptops?) Has on/off button, volume control, improved clip on (prior versions it wasn't very stable). Would recommend.

There's something about it that really bothers me and it is the plug in the back of the speaker, it is right on top of the clip so when you pick it up to clip it let's say on the lid of your laptop, you think you're opening the clip but you're actually holding it from the plug and when you apply pleasure to it to open the clip (you're not opening the clip because you're holding it from the plug) then the plug starts to bend upwards and it's going to eventually give in and break. Many of you will probably say "well make sure you hold it from the clip instead of from the plug", the thing is that YOU THINK you are holding it from the clip instead of the plug, the same thing will happen to you, so the plug should be in a different place like the side of it. The sound is fine, it is way better than the crappy built in speakers of my laptop.

I use these speakers every day at work. I work in a shipping and receiving section of a business so it gets loud from time to time. The speakers are very loud and very clear. I also noticed that they have nice thick cables instead of cheap thin ones. We play all genres of music through them from dub step, to country, to death metal. It all sounds really good on these speakers. I am not saying these will sound as good as Bose or anything. But for what you pay, it it certainly well worth every penny.I also must add this is my second set of speakers that are Logitech, I have had one set for well over a year, I crank those things as loud as they can go when I play my guitar to music. They still are holding up just fine and those speakers are cheaper than these ones! Those can be found here.[...]All in all, Logitech builds great affordable speakers that can handle being pushed for years!

My optically linked MacPro in the bedroom with the speakers on the bedposts and the sub-underneath produces FAR better sound than my much more expensive home entertainment system in the living room. If there were any way I could redirect the recordings on my DVR's so I could play them on my Mac instead, I'd do it just for the sound.

These definitely fit the bill for what I use them for. They aren't true 5.1, but you can get a 5.1 experience from them via the Matrix function.I really like the handheld control. The only thing I wish they had was a toslink or digital audio input, but eh, again for what I use them for they do more than satisfy my needs for a home TV/PC sound system.

So my trusty Z305 finally died after much use and joy. I came to Amazon to get another one just like it, but it looks like it's been discontinued, because there is a dwindling stock and they're outrageously priced. So rather than let some opportunistic price gouging remove my arm I thought I'd try this speaker out. It took me about ten minutes of use to regret that decision. These speakers don't stay on top of my laptop, they're always falling off. After about the tenth time, the cord hyper-extended and it got a short in it. Sent back for refund in under 24 hours. I'd suggest trying to find a Z305 before they're all grabbed up. Don't but this thing, it's a rip off.

They do the job great and when turned off by the knob on the speaker they are not energy vampires. I like Logitec products they last, I have many devices from Logitec and all have been working fine some for over 4 years now. The sound is what you would expect from small speakers but decent.

Love this. As a "poor" college student, this was a great buy for my dorm room. The sound is excellent and the sub-woofer provides surprisingly good bass. I never go over half the bass output since it's so strong. Recommend this, particularly for any college students looking for a decent sound system for their place. One thing that did concern me was that the product was delivered in a rather flimsy manner, with minimal padding and stuffed into a rather small box. But it arrived in good condition so it didn't really matter that much.Note: I'm not an audiophile as some people are so they might not consider this to be so great, but I love it!

I ordered this style of speaker for two reasons. 1 - I own several Logitech products and have always been satisfied with their quality and performance. 2 - The style is not as cumbersome as other sets of speakers. I would recommend this product.

I love my Acer 15.6 laptop; but the built-in speakers leave a lot to be desired. So naturally I came to Amazon expecting to find a speaker for my laptop. This speaker is just the right size and provides a great sound with its two small speakers. I am glad that it has volume control and an off and on button. The clip is small so I find myself just setting it alongside my laptop. Thank you Logitech for making another great computer accessory. Thank you Amazon for carrying this great product.

Usually I'm a big supporter of Logitech products because p until now I've always been pleased with their products but this time I have to agree with the other reviews concerning the volume. It does lack power!! It's really great speakers for a small room but on a large service I wouldn't recommend it & for a laptop it's cool but if you want something that sounds like a home cinema I would recommend the Logitech Speaker System Z623 or Logitech Surround Sound System Z906.

This is a good improvement over most built-in laptop speakers. Sound is very good for it's size, and it only requires one usb port on both my netbook and laptop. I like how it turns crummy monophonic sound into decent sounding stereo on my netbook. It appears that this item is discontinued; I couldn't find it on Logitech's website. If true, that would explain the high prices I'm seeing. However, as of this post, many local Target stores still have it for much less, and I bet there are others. Don't pay more if you don't have to.

This little speaker packs a nice amount of sound! I was amazed by the quality, since it's rather small, but it sounds so much better than my laptop speakers, so I'm very happy with my purchase. I just played the new David Bowie CD and it sounded great!

We are doing a computer driven video projection for our wedding anniversary, and wanted something to amplify the sound for a larger room. These are just the ticket. Good sound quality and volume, with enough base to give the music a nice quality sound. Would recommend these.

The x530 is the best speaker system I've ever owned. my first set of speakers i ever bought was the Logitech z313 and i still have it, works great. The next speaker set i bought was the Logitech z2300, those are very loud with great bass. Then i bought these for surround sound in my room, these are the best of all of them! They are only rated 70 Watts but they sound much much louder, maybe something like 150 to 200 watts overall. The sound quality is as good as it gets, it sounds amazing. the bass coming from the 25 watt subwoofer sounds more like it should be rated a good 100 watts. You can actually feel this subwoofer shake a bunch of stuff. I was surprised at how loud it was and i'm comparing it to the z 2300! The system only has one 3.5 mm input, but it doesn't even need optical in because it sounds so great anyway. The cords are also long enough to reach across my room, and it is not a small room. If you're looking for some good, no not good GREAT, surround sound speakers that don't need to make you go def, buy these. they are 100% worth the price. oh & they look pretty cool too!btw. Logitech is the best brand out there.

Out of the box I was VERY impressed. For a non-subwoofer unit, this thing had GREAT sound. Clear, good volume, etc.HOWEVER: After 2 weeks, the LEFT DRIVER took a s***. All static-y and distorted. I saw another guy's review with the SAME problem.I already tossed the receipt and warranty stuff, so I took it in the butt on these pieces of junk.I will NEVER toss a receipt or warranty doc prior to one year ever again. Learned the hard way.

I purchased this product for a boost in sound quality for my laptop. It is very easy to install (just plug it in) and the performance is what I expected. The key to being satisfied with this speaker is not to expect a loud fulfilling sound for a room. If you want better listening over typical laptop speakers, it's there. For those who expect more, go to a set-up with separate power source.

Already had one set of these, among half a dozen types of computer speakers I've tried. Liked the Creatives enough to get another set. Good value. Large speakers + passive woofer make it much more professional than the average speakers. No sub woofer, which was desirable in my case for this particular purchase.

Awesome economical speakers. Used these to play movies and music and found that the volume and spectrum were great for both. Lots of base, treble, and mid range, without distortion, even when turned up high. Can compete with sound on my living room t.v., (which has no auxillary sound system), when turned up to max. I have to tell my 4 yr. old daughter to turn down the laptop when me and my wife are watching movies. I love these speakers, and would highly recommend them. Will update in 3 months, until then, enjoy!

Adapter provided by seller is useless. A step up transformer is required to increase the voltage to power the item. This item is intended for 220V outlets only and seller has no clue what that means. Do not buy if living in U.S.A or Canada unless you have a step up voltage transformer. Product is meant for 220V outlets only.

Very nice quality small reasonably priced speaker I use with laptop - just what I was looking for to provide enhanced sound at home or while traveling ... can attach to the top of the screen or use on a standalone unit. Recommend - Do not think you'll be disappointed.

I have had these same speakers for years and haven't seen anything better for the price, or even for quite a bit more. The surround speakers also have integral wall mounts. If you have a problem locating these at a reasonable price, Wal Mart still carries them new for $75. That was the best deal I could find. Sellers on here are asking more than double that for refurb units. Don't be a victim.

I've had these speakers for about one year and they literally stopped worked round the 6month mark... one of the speakers stopped working(IT HAD A shortcircuit in the cord and would flicker on and off). This happend from nothing more than normal wear the speakers litterally sat undisturbed on my desk for 6months until they stopped working suddenly one day. I've been using just one speaker for a while(nearly 6 months now)... there is absolutely nothing wrong with the sound the speaker produces... its wonderful! its unfortunate that the shoddy craftmanship in one of myspeakers has made it necessary for me to buy another! AVOID THESE IF YOU CAN!!! THE PRICE IS DECEPTIVE!!!

These speakers were great at first. The size is perfect for a laptop and the sound quality was great out of the box. The volume does not get very loud - at max volume, we couldn't hear it from several feet away in a dorm room with the AC on. Granted, it was an older, louder AC unit, and we were streaming Netflix, but it was still a little disappointing. After about 6 months, the speakers started to go, and there was a lot of distortion. They are still kicking after several years and some abuse, but the sound quality is poor. Not a bad price, and great for travel, small & quiet spaces, or infrequent use.

I bought these speakers to use with my MacBook Pro about a year ago. The sound quality is pretty good for when you're sitting at the desk; the bass is decent, and the trebles sound crisp. However, the speakers consistently pick up signals from area radio stations and other hums/buzzes; this happens regardless of whether they are plugged into the computer or not, so it seems to be the speakers themselves that are poorly shielded and picking up these signals. At times, it's loud enough to be quite audible and quite distracting. Logitech, please shield your components more carefully in the future!

I travel a good bit, and though my laptop has top of the line sound, watching a movie in a hotel room with the ac running made it rather difficult to hear the dialogue at times. Got these last week, already on the road and the improvement is 100% better than expected. Had no need to even turn up to full volume. made watching movies on the laptop enjoyable.

I was looking to use my 360 with my 24" HDMI monitor, but the sound from the HDMI obviously gets gobbled up by the monitor, which thankfully has an audio out (no sound bar). I also use the monitor with my computer, so I was looking for a pair of relatively reliable speakers of good quality that would reproduce game-y sounds well as well as music, which I listen to quite often when using the computer.I'm no audiophile, but I do like my music and sound relatively free from distortions and tinniness. After doing some searching around, I decided to sink the comparatively small amount of funds for this item and I must say, I regret it not.I'm not sure what the occasional reviews about low volume are, but my guess is these people don't know how to configure the volume of the device attached to the speakers. If I turn these babies up to max volume, I do get distortion, but I probably also vibrate the entire house (and aggravate the neighbors). At half-volume, I can play music from my laptop and hear it fairly well from the first floor of the house (the laptop being on the second), with no audible distortion.As for the range, my ears are quite satisfied. These speakers produce a fairly full sound, and while the lack of subwoofer means they don't shake my floor, it was hardly the aim I sought to achieve. However, on the middle volumes, the bass these produce is enough to cause my desk to vibrate. High pitches sound great as well.No tinniness, either.To sum it up, the sound quality is well above any standard laptop speaker set. I'd argue you basically get something that would function admirably as the front-left and front-right speakers of a home theater setup.As for the casing and construction, I must also say that they're pretty solidly built. They're also rather large--do make sure to get a good idea of the amount of space they occupy from the specs. Nonetheless, they look great on the desk and I don't imagine them being destroyed by some trivial incident.As for the knobs, I also don't quite understand the function of the Tone knob. All the way to the left and it sounds like a set of laptop speakers. In the middle it sounds alright. To the right it sounds like full bass and a generally full sound. I can't imagine a reason to do anything but the rightmost setting.Oh, yeah, and the power supply is in the left speaker--hence its marked weight compared to the right one. This does, however, mean no power brick on the power plug--definitely a plus. :)They do feature a port for plugging in...well, a 3.5mm jack from an input device. Unfortunately, mine didn't come with any cable to connect, say, an MP3 player to that port, so I had to go out and buy one. Not a huge deal, and it's a pretty handy feature, but I just wish Logitech had realized that most people probably don't have male/male 3.5mm cables just lying around. Some people say theirs came with one, though, so maybe mine's a packaging error.One strange design idea, though, is that the left speaker has the power supply and cord while the right speaker actually has the audio plug. I can't see anything good or bad about it, but it's different and may affect your setup.Overall, these are fairly high quality speakers that are fantastic for desk use, and I can't imagine they were designed with anything else in mind. They function great for games and music alike.

These speakers appear to be solidly built. They have good sound but I do miss a little thumping bass. I don't have room for my Z-4 speaker set now, so I bought the X-140 2.0 speakers to use until I get a little more space. I'm satisfied with them.
