Just got a new HP computer that had the "Beats Audio" card in it. It has support for stereo, quad, 5.1 & 7.1. So I decided to get a nice 5.1 speaker system. There were cheap one's for $60 & expensive one's around $300. Then I found these in the lower middle end for $89. After some reseach I realized they were 4 year's ago's top model ie. 2008. That's alright with me because they still have enough power & there's a nice control pod that does both vol. & bass. Plus it has a 6' heavy duty cable which is very nice. The sound is full & rich, something I never would have said before from digital playback. Best thing I have done for my ear's since 1977, that's when I bought my Bose 301's. If you don't have a sound card that supports 5.1, don't worry. The built in Matrix mode is fantastic. It takes the stereo signal & convert's it to 5.1 for you & it sound's awesome. You'll never find a better sound sytem for your computer, even the $300+ newer system's would not sound any better. Did I say that you feel the bass on your leg's 10' away at a nice listening volume. Nice! Logitech hit out of the park with these speaker's. I know I'll be listening to these for year's to come.

I love the quality of this Speaker and the light weight clip on option is perfect just plug in and started using it and my built in speaker for Accer Ultrabook is horrible like you literally can not hear them playing anything :( But life is much easier with this Z205 SPEAKER.Thanks to Logitech :)

Started getting a ton of distortion from the left speaker about two weeks after the return window expired, and the loudest I ever turned it up was 3/4 volume. The only way I can get a clear, undistorted signal is if I turn it way down, but what's the point if the laptop speakers it's supposed to be replacing are louder it is?

I know these are supposed to be for a computer but the speakers on my new tv aren't that great so I got these. They work terrific!!! And they look great also!!!!

Clips right on to top of laptop screen. Sound is very, very good. Great for games or watching movies. We've tried the plug-in external speakers before and were very disappointed, but not this time. I would recommend this speaker to anyone. Great product at a great price!

Good addition to the laptop speakers but it's worth no more than $20 at most. It is small and compact and boosts the sound when there is background noise. That is what's best. I used it when traveling in my car for the kids to watch movies.

The speaker sounds great--at least it did until it died after very limited use over several weeks. It completely stopped powering up and other reviews of this product with the same problem blamed a faulty cable so perhaps that's the issue here.

I'd been looking to upgrade my default PC speakers for a while, and as a non-audiophile I have been looking for a set that was effective without being obtrusive or taking up too much desk space, and that wouldn't break the bank. The Logitech Z110 speakers are a great bargain at the price, and I have found them able to handle video and gaming with little to no distortion or "crackle" throughout their full volume range. Stereo channels sound good, and I have no complaints about their size or styling. If you are looking for a lot of speaker quality in a small package, you've come to the right place.

used it for 3 weeks and the bass doesnt work anymore and after trying to get a refund for it or send it back for a defect they tell me i bought it a year ago and i had just bought it in june 2012 hasnt even been a year yet.......so yea i wouldnt buy these again

Although this speaker is better than the laptop's sound, it's small and not top of the line. However, it IS better than the laptop's speakers. It attaches easily and is easy to use.

These speakers are totally quit when turned on with no music - no hum whatsoever. And they make any music on your computer sound excellent. I bought a second pair of these for our other computer. I highly recommend them.

This speakers are great if your looking for something Mid-range. The bass is surprisingly great. I really enjoy the bass, its a great buy for how much it costs. I have no regrets.

They're fine. Use them with my MAC, wither with iTunes or Ytube stuff. They're clear, and the treble/bass control works okay.

When I first got them I was surprised at how heavy the package was, if your looking at buying these make a note that they are very big. They are tall and weigh more than your average speakers. I've had these for a few months now and already I'm starting to notice a pulsing sound whenever they are on.

I purchased these speakers 5 years ago from a BestBuy sale. These speakers have unfortunately gone through some abuse (thanks to college life) but still work flawlessly! For a time I hooked up these speakers to a 32" LCD TV as a makeshift home theatre system. The sound from these speakers rivals that of pricier systems. Example: My dad's took his Bose speakers back to the store because they sounded awful (tried to warn him). He borrowed my Logitech speakers until his Klipsch Promedia 2.1 arrived. We honestly can't hear any difference between the two systems.In my opinion, the only con regards the control pod. I can't count how many situations that I wished I could unhook the control pod from the subwoofer.If you encounter this stereo system for sale/on sale anywhere, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Finally, this unit allows me to actually hear what's on my flat-screen TV. It's not expensive, it's not Boise> But it does what it's supposed to do - which is to amplify the sound on your TV.

We bought this for our son for Christmas. He loves it! He hooked it up and played some music for us on his laptop. It has great sound and a lot of power. We are all very happy with it.

Bought this because the sound card went out of my desktop and I didn't feel like taking it apart to put in a new one. This was so simple, just plugged it in and it works great.

My other speakers quit working and I ordered this so I could clip it to my laptop and avoid the hassle of finding a place to set external speakers and having the wires in the way. Even though I like the speaker for that reason, I am very disappointed in the quality of sound. They aren't significantly louder than the internal speaker, and I was expecting a richer sound. I clipped it to the top of the laptop and there is quite a bit of wiggle room.

The speakers do work in conjunction with our Panasonic projection Tv set and our Directv receiver. We needed an rca cord + y-adapter + stereo jack couplet to do it though. The reason being is the speakers have a 3.5mm jack which needs to be converted to right and left audio on the receiver. The sound is great and does not require any amplification. The speakers work great w/ iPad/iPod and have a crisp,clear, and enjoyable sound.

Hey these speakers are pretty good. I've used them on my desktop pc cause monitor speakers are lousy! Nice sound,good for regular gaming, music. I dont put these way up, just have half way and the pc at 86 to 94 level....If yu want real heavy sound...like for x-gaming...then yu might want to get speakers with a "Subwoofer". I have a nice set of Logitech 3 piece speakers about 5 1/2 y'rs ago and still gets great sound from them. These will be gd for home, office and light gaming or music on medium high if yu have a good onboard sound system..that helps also! Get 'em..they work just fine : )

I have to say I love my new speakers and have been wanting to get these for a LONG time, I'm very happy with the quality of the sound and how well the sub sounds, but there is one thing I've noticed and that is that the front left and right sattelite speakers have small dents on their lower speakers, in the same exact place and the same exact size. But as far as I can tell those dents don't change how the speakers sound at all which is why this gets a 5 star review. Also the shipping kinda sucked but I could wait \(^_^)/

Just what I was looking for. Something to make my laptop louder. Easy to transport with a nice storage bag. Not surround sound high fidelity stereo but that's not what I was expecting or paying for. I needed louder/good sound for a reasonable price and this is exactly that. Clips on the top or side of my laptop easily and is secure. Cable is just the right length without being overly long and in the way. Good style and worth the cost. Nicely done Logitech!

I don't have a tv, so I use my laptop for everything. Now with the speaker --I can enjoy everything I do more. Friends were impressed with this speaker over theirs. Also handy that it clips on ..

I was forced to buy a sound system when my room-mate always disturb me with loud music. I surfed the internet for the best, and a friend told me about Logitech sound system. It's amazing. I have never tried to use the full volume of the speaker, cos it will get me in big trouble. The Bass is amazing, the matrix works perfectly. I've been using it for a year now and still works great, I mean great. You looking for a sound system for your place, this is a good choice. Trust me. I bought it for $90 back in 2011, and is still working like a million dollar speaker(if there is one). Go for it.

GREAT IDEA. I WAS IMPRESSED ON HOW WELL THE SOUND WAS FOR WHAT SIZE IT WAS. MY LAP TOP SPEAKERS SUCK SO THIS REALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE.

I have a pretty specific list of requirements for desktop speakers. My work computer has a broken headphone jack in the front, so i have to use the one in the back. These were to double as an extension cord for my headphones. Also I have four monitors, from the left to right monitor it's about 3.5 feet. I need the speakers to reach from that distance. Finally, i'm no audiofile, but I like the speakers to sound ok.These do none of those.- The speaker cable between the left and right modules is bout 2 feet, to short to go on both sides of my monitors.- The headphone jack has a constant hiss coming out of it.- The sound quality is pretty sub par.- Also they are quite large, I could possibly fit them under my monitors if they were less then 4" high, but they are more like 7" high.

I received these speakers for Christmas, and haven't turned them off yet. My neighbor is pretty upset though. I use them with my computer and since my laptop is older the speakers really enhance the sound.

I bought these speakers based on customer reviews, and I was pretty disappointed. I'm an avid listener of music of all types, and I generally like to play my music loud enough that I can hear the variances in tone when listening to classical piano or jazz. I know that my standards are high and that not everyone will have these same standards. I take my sound pretty seriously, but I couldn't afford to get a $200 pair of stereo speakers. So, I thought I'd try a trusted brand.When I first opened the package, I was kind of excited. The speakers had some substance to them. They weren't too light, and the diaphragm of the speaker was a decent size. I thought they'd put out some nice sound.However, when I plugged them into my computer and booted up my media player and started to play some soft classical Chopin piano, I couldn't hear anything. Then I tried turning up the volume. There was a faint sound. So I turned it up some more. I could finally hear it, but this was already past 50%, and as soon as the piano hit some of the more poignant harmonics, the speakers peaked and crackled. Even so, I had to get really close to hear well. I tried several different types of music, and had similar results.In case the first pair I received was defective, I bought a second and had the same results.Well, Since I know some people don't like sifting through a lot of prose, I'll put up some pros, cons and bottom line.Pros:-Speakers look pretty nice on the desk. They aren't huge, but they don't look wimpy either.-They're fairly heavy. They won't get knocked around too easily, and if you don't want to return them, they would make a great paper weight.-They're inexpensive.Cons:-I can't hear them. While the sound tone is pretty nice, I think my earbuds put out more volume than these speakers.-They peak on the lightest music at 50% volume. They just don't have the power to play anything loudly.Bottom line:If you're not worried about listening to music and watching videos, or the only purpose of buying speakers is to hear the blips and dings that your computer makes, these might be adequate. But then again, so is a $7 pair of cheapos.

The product itself might have been good. I had a previous set that lasted me forever until I gave it away after I traveled last year. Honestly, I thought the system would have lasted a bit longer. It seems that the item might have been refurbished or repaired by some lousy technicians. Within 45 days or so, I lost the money I spent purchasing that trash. The Sub-woofer completely stopped functioning. I unplugged it immediately thinking it might have been overheated but ever since it never works again. I paid another 15 dollars to get it looked at but it was not worth the repair they told me.I got ripped off. I guess the bad economy explains why cheap items are sold online to to make a quick buck.Be wise, Amazon shoppers

These speakers are pretty good for the non audiophile, which is the main reason why I returned them. I was actually surprised with the bass output, especially for a set of computer speaks that don't come with a "sub", sub in quotations because computer subs are like 2 in and barely put out more bass than my butt hole. but like all logitech speakers, i've found that they have a very muddy sound. Once i boosted the high eq, they sounded much better, and i almost would've liked them, had it not been for the very loud buzzing sound coming from the speakers when idle. I've bought and tried, just for fun, every logitech computer speaker system available at Best Buy/Target/Walmart and i haven't liked any of them. If you like a wide sound spectrum (deep lows to clear highs and everything in between) i'd just stay away from anything logitech.but if you're not a sound snob they'll be fine for you, especially since they're only $15 at Target.

First, I bought this speaker system about 4 years ago in 2008 for less than 200 bucks new! I hope sharing this will deter others from over-paying and sellers to price this system more reasonably.As for this system, it has great sound with full bass. Although it has been an excellent system for my media center computer, I only now have unlocked its true capabilities...I purchased a new TV and easily connected it, via optical audio cable (TOSlink), to this system with outstanding results. The Z-5500 system automatically detects Dolby and THX signals and creates a very realistic movie-goer experience. I am amazed!Some technical details include accommodating direct, coax and optical connections, altogether, which can be individually selected via remote to switch between connected components. I use it to switch between my computer and TV. You can also select preset listening modes (Dolby Digital Movie, Dolby Digital Music, THX, etc.) all of which can be personally adjusted (center level, sub-woofer level, etc.) to your listening taste or environment.Overall, this is an excellent system with great sound and many user choice capabilities.

I did enjoy this laptop speaker at the beginning but after 6 months things began to malfunction. I only used this about twice a weeks to listen to lectures since my laptop speakers were too low. Then the volume buttons decided not to work anymore so I had to raise and lower the volume directly on the video I was watching. A month into the buttons no longer working the speakers completely gave out. It doesnt seem to be the cord and I have tried everything to make them work again. On top of that it has effected the volume on my computer so now my computer speakers wont work. I have a year old Dell with no viruses and its not the computer. its this foolish speaker. I need the speakers replaced. it should still be under warranty.

Apparently my initial review was not what I intended. It should have been 5 stars from the beginning.Works great. Easy to hook up and sound is fantastic. I used these to replace speakers for my desktop. Would buy again if need another speaker set.

The speakeres are loud and good enough to listen anywhere in my room. They have good bass and don't distort the vocals of the music either so I see myself using these until they don't work anymore

It's cheap and it's small. You need to keep those qualities in mind when considering the Logitech Z205. For travel, it's just about perfect: decent sound (particularly when used with a graphic equalizer such as Winamp provides) and incredibly small and lightweight.That said, it will NOT produce room-filling sound. It gets its power through the single USB cable (supplied) which also carries the audio signal. Plug & Play btw, just clip it onto your laptop screen, plug it in, and go. The clip is adjustable for differing screen thicknesses.

These are well worth the money. The 5.1 is incredible for movies and gaming. I rattle my windows when listing to music. If you want great surround sound on a budget. This is the way to go! 5 stars.

theyre definitely good speakers no doubt about that. but it doesnt get as loud as i expected. sub bass is good i guess. nice surround sound. most id pay for this is 400. id suggest getting these for parties/tv/movies . i wouldnt suggest getting these for listening to intricate music.

I bought these speakers just for some normal speakers for my new computer. I got them, hooked it up and bam. It had great sound. If you like big bass, this would be perfect for your computer.
