Speakers did arrive on time. Infact it came a day early. Connected my speakers to ipod, TV and laptop. Best results was produced when it was connected with laptop. I also connected them with iphone, but for some reason the sub doesnt work with iphone. Performance with TV and ipod is ok. But no complaints at this price.Overall definately a good buy if you factor in the price.

I opened the box, plugged them in, the drivers installed, and they worked!!!They sound great. I wanted them for traveling. My wife and I watch movies from the laptop when we are traveling and my laptop speakers are very good at all. They come with a sturdy case and are the perfect size for traveling.

The x-540's deliver so much more than you pay for it's almost silly. The bass knocks, they look sharp and sound generally great.I chose these over the logitech z-2300 speakers, and though I haven't heard them I am very happy with my decision. I'm not an audiophile and am mainly concerned with decent highs and mids and strong bass, and these deliver. I don't think I'd want any more bass than what the x-540's offer, honestly.If you want cheap, excellent speakers, buy these.

Great speakers! Superior sound from pc speakers. Ordered from J&R Music World through Amazon and would recommend J&R to anyone. Have made several purchases on car audio and home audio from them since the late 70's or early 80's to present and have never been disappointed with their products, shipping, or customer service. Also have ordered several products from Amazon and have been extremely please with them and the shipping times.

I've had these speakers for over 5 years now and they still sound great. I'm giving them 3 stars for the following reason.1.) Subwoofer cannot be integrated into a higher end receiver if you want to upgrade your system2.) Surround speakers do not easily mount on stands such as Sanus. I had to actually take them apart to mount them.Other than those two tidbits, I love these speakers and will probably hold onto to them for a long time and put them in an extra mancave, gameroom or outside shop.

I looked at alot of different speaker options before choosing the X-540's. The price is right, and they sound great! The sub has a suprising amount of bass, and the surrounds give very nice imaging. The remote volume/bass control lets you adjust them to your taste with ease. If you buy this set up, you won't be disappointed.

I have had these speakers for over a month attached to a HP dv5t laptop, the sound is absolutely ridiculous compared to some old Boston Acoustics 2.1 speakers i had, the bass is incredible, crisp and booming. because i use it on a laptop the speakers are attached to a 2.1 soundcard only, but with matrix mode the sound becomes almost surround, there is slight distortion. And yes like other ppl have noted there are some occassional popping noises, but that's from the laptop soundcard, i attached the speakers to a desktop with a 5.1 card and the sound is even nicer, no popping yet.I recommend watching for the occassional logitech 15 or 20 dollar rebate which brings the price down to about $35+$17 shipping. Great deal considering msrp is $110.I have a small room and the cables are just the perfect lenght and the sound is terrific.

I haven't done my research in USB speakers, so I don't know how these compare to other ones on the market, but for the $70.00 or so I paid for them, it's not worth it in my opinion. Two things I could say. The first is that I had a pair of $14.00 dollar speakers that were louder than these, so I'm not satisfied with the sound capability. The volume is not bad, you can get just shy of loud if you're in front of your computer, but when you really want to rock out a song, or listen to your computer from the other room, they are just not up to the task. Probably not good speakers for anyone in their 20's who likes to really play their music. And furthermore, when they do get loud they start to shake and travel. They'll move right off your table if you're not careful. I find that very annoying. If you buy these speakers, be prepared to weigh them down with sandbags or something heavy. The second complaint I have is that after they rattled off the table one day, the speaker inside both came loose and made all sorts of horrendous noise afterward when trying to play them. I had to open them up and superglue them back together. Not very good construction if you ask me.

All my peripherals are Logitech - I also own the Z5500 but decided to purchase these as I moved and needed something less powerful. Here is an honest, brief review:Pros:- Price- Decent Quality- Bass is acceptable for the $- Good value overallCons:- Speaker wires hard wired, very short (even the front speakers are unreasonably short and hard to reach to the sub) - you will need extensions otherwise wires will be all over your floor- Doesnt come with drivers/software (luckily I have the software panel from my Z5500, but it didnt come with a CD and I was unable to locate anything on the website)- Somewhat cheap looking- Compatibility with headphones sucks - the system automatically goes to max when you insert a headphone - the control adjuster stops working. So you have to control manually through the computerI would not recommend this for anyone that is looking for exceptional sound - go with the Z5500, its worth the extra $250. If you want an cheap, but functional system to beat the crap out of and have another system for home theatre and audio, this may be a decent pick.

These do sound good, but not better than I expecter for $90. I had to get 2 rca extentions for my L shaped desk, 5ft each. and I thought it had a plug for an ipod connection, but it does not. It could be hooked to one, but not without disconnecting it from the computer.

I am afraid I can only echo what others have said. For the money, these are the best speakers you can possibly have. Do they sound like Acoustic Research or Bose speakers - well, no. Did you really expect them to at $30?They are built tough, connect easily, and the power supply does not require an AC/DC brick. They are a bit large and consume desk space so if you are looking for compact speakers, you should look elsewhere. (Perhaps a setup with a floor mounted bass?) That being said, the sound is fine for internet cruising, simple games, and pop music.If your requirements include naturally aspirated instrument reproduction (jazz, symphony, opera) get out the wallet and buy some serious acoustical speakers. Other than that, these will be more than adequate for most needs. Once again people, they only cost $30!

This is a reasonably good speaker system to upgrade the speakers that normally come with a new computer system. I had to replace this system purchased earlier due to an accident that disabled the remote on/off control. Since there apparently isn't any replacement available for a non-functioning control, be careful or you will have a system that is totally disabled.

I am an audiophile and I was surprised at what was delivered to my door. I didn't expect the quality that was in the box. This is good stuff. I have paid thousands for speakers that don't sound as good. The sound quality will absolutely blow you away. It will sound like you have a whole band in your house. All of the speakers are very well made and have quality written all over them. Each speaker is heavy which has always been a good sign in a speaker. That means that the magnet on the back of the speaker is big and can handle a lot of power. The subwoofer has got to be the best in its class whatever it is. It delivers deep rich bass that does not distort no matter how high you crank it. I listen to all types of music and it all sounds great. You could waste three thousand on some Bose speakers, or you could buy this for $240. You can add it to any type of set up you can imagine that you want to have big sound added to. I am sitting here feeling like I stole something. These speakers are that good. Buy them, you'll love them. I promise it will be one of the best purchases that you could ever make. Logitech keep making good stuff. I love it!

I was hesitant at first to get it because the model below it, the GX___, seemed to fulfill my needs (I'm never going to need 500 watts rms as offered by the z5500). I decided to get it, though, because it has so many inputs (optical, direct, line in, digital coaxial) that I could attach all of my hardware to it. Once I did get it, it's great! All of my friends insist on coming to my place to watch movies/play games because it's a home theater now. I read a few reviews commenting that the subwoofer doesn't go down to 20Hz, only 31Hz or something, but in reality most humans can't hear down to 20Hz (that is a value humans can hear only at the most optimal conditions and perfect hearing). Also at that low a bass, the sound is basically a vibration. It would be difficult for most normal people to tell the difference between a 20Hz vibration and a 31Hz vibration. So, if you're waffling about getting this system because either the bass is not 20Hz, the system is too powerful for your needs, or even the price (I got mine on amazon for $200!), just take the dive. These speakers will last you for 10 years +.

short wires, poor sound. Hard to control due to a useless matrix feature that defeats any PC adjustments. Don't buy this if you want to listen to music. Should be priced below $35 since I have $15 stereo speakers that produce better sound.

These speakers were easy to set up and sound fine. The center speaker is especially good for spoken voices. Gaming and 3D effects are all great. At higher volumes, however, there is noticeable distortion in music. There is ringing, echoing, booming, and instruments don't sound the way they should (harmonics are missing or altered in volume). The speakers are fine for playing songs etc. in the background, but I can't use them for seriously listening and concentrating on any music. I'm sure these speakers create distortion in any kind of sound, but it's only a problem for music.

These sound great and were a breeze to set up. They replaced an old Klipsch Promedia 5.1 setup with a subwoofer I thought had gone bad, though it turned out to be my soundcard, but these sound just as good and the sub is massive. Also, seeing as how these are really the only choice left on the market if you want excellent 5.1 for the PC on the cheap, you can't really go wrong with them. Highly recommended.

I bought this for my bedroom set up and have been more then impressed. Compared to my Bose Accoustimass and Harmon Kardon set up in my theatre room, these are amazing! Sub is groundshaking and built in dts/dolby decoder does a great job. Sound quality is good and even includes a boost mode when turned up past max volume! the only complaint is i wish they had more than 1 opitcal audio input.

I bought these speakers a couple of years ago and they're great. No, obviously they are not fantastic high quality speakers, but I didn't want fantastic high quality speakers. If that's what you're looking for, by all means, drop a couple hundred bucks. But if you're just looking to amplify and improve the quality of the sound coming from your laptop speakers, you couldn't do better for $30.My only complaint is that the first half of the volume dial is almost silent, so you have to turn the dial about halfway up before you hear anything at all- quite a few times I have wondered if something wasn't working before realizing that I just needed to turn the dial up.Other than that, they are durable, decent quality, and haven't given me any problems. I also love that the power adapter is built into the system, and not an extra brick taking up space among all the others on my desk.Overall, these speakers are a great deal, especially for the price.

Sound is supurb. Better than my JVC AV receiver, JBL bookshelf speakers and Infinity subwoofer home theater setup, at a much lower cost. Better than my HK AVR95 high current receiver with Carver tower speakers and dual subwoofer system in the basement rec room, at 1/3 the cost (inc. the notebook with the z-5500). You don't need an amp or receiver with the Z-5500. 500+ watts RMS amplification is more than ample.I wanted a nice sound system for my 4-seasons room - one that rocks without dominating the space. Used mostly for music, but occasional video use. Here's my setup. The Z-5500 is wall-mounted throughout the room. An HP DV2500 series laptop feeds audio to the Z-5500. Windows Media Player is a great front end, and I also use VLC Player. I have my mp3 files on the laptop and on a portable hard drive. I can also watch DVDs on a 22" Samsung LCD monitor mounted to the wall via a Peerless articulating wall mount with a 15" reach and tilt capabilities. I change the monitor position to where I am sitting, and tuck it flat against the wall when not in use. (May upgrade to a 24" or 28" monitor) The notebook has a DVD-RW drive, so a separate DVD player is unneccesary. Since the speakers are powered, a separate amp/receiver is also unneccesary.Easily fills my 18x16 4-seasons room (and cathedral ceiling) with glorious sound. This system is great for large rooms and small.I use a TOSLINK optical cable from the laptop to the Z-5500 for outstanding digital sound. Cables are under $10. Do not use an analog stereo output to the Z-5500 or you will be missing out on the best quality sound. Many notebooks and desktops do not have an SPDIF output, so a TOSLINK cable may not be available to you. Digital coax would be equal quality.The kids can plug in their mp3 players into the Z-5500 as well.The remote is easy to use, very convenient, and intuitive. AA batteries included!

These speakers are great for any computer gamer out there. I was expecting a good, quality set of PC speakers and that is exactly what these are. I knew they were not going to be amazing (for audiophiles) but they get the job done for sure.Each speaker puts out good sound, simple setup, no problems at all so far.I highly recommend this affordable option as PC speakers.

I've had the V20's for about a year and find them exceptional. I have them hooked up to my desktop because they provide superb sound, don't require a power plug, take little space, and are an attractive addition to your desk.I agree that the cable connecting the two speakers could be longer, but the speaker set was designed for placement around a laptop, not across a table.On the sound, I find it to be superb. Excellent bass, great sound separation (lows, mids, highs), and they're quite responsive (have a punch to them). I've compared the to a number of other smaller speakers and the V20's had a much better sound, even compared to ones that required separate power. Sound quality is a subjective, but I have and had $5,000+ home stereo systems most of my life and feel these little guys do a fantastic job.I've read some feedback about the speakers jumping on your desk at high volumes. This will happen if you really jack up the volume. The sound produced at normal volumes is more than adequate for music listening. These things are not designed to fill up a large room with floor thumping sound. I've listened to music pretty loudly and have never had them jump. I wouldn't consider this an issue.The speakers are attractive and are well made. They don't look cheap. One reason why they're permanently on my desk.I strongly recommend these speakers. I think most people tend to agree due to the large number of reviews on Amazon for these speakers and the high average rating.

Great deal for price! The quality is as advertised. If you crank up the volume too much it will distort the sound and the blue light will blink on the top of the speaker. Just "turn it down," and keep on rocking. They are not designed as a surround sound system, so don't think otherwise. The design is sleek, stylish and functional. Function controls are on top of one speaker which allow you to control the PLAY/PAUSE/STOP/FWD/REV etc. The folding stands make for convenient storage, the size and carrying case make these a very portable accessory.

These speakers are amazing for their small size! The sound quality is great! A huge improvement over the laptop speakers alone, with a much more full, deep sound than expected. Very easy to use, just plug into USB port, no other plugs/power necessary. The latest version of these speakers had no compatibility problems with Vista. Nice little carrying case. Highly recommend!

yeah i just got an amazon request to review this product along with my butt sodomised by a $79 charge on my card for not cancelling my amazon prime on time....with that said ive had logitech speakers for a while and i gotto say the just keep getting better.(actually ive only had one logitech surround system) but this is seriously one of the greatest purchases ive ever made... i run it through an optical cable to my ps3 and the sound integrity is amazing...i guess you can say im a wannabe audiophile cuz im low on money. the bass is insane as most logitech products and the satellites have a really great sound. i read some review about how the mids come a little short and they do at high volumes but thats only when youre listening to music REALLY loud...to the point of hurting your ears. the display on the control dock flickers and turns off for asplit second AT TIMES but im sure i just got the one in a bunch of these that have a problem...MOVIES SOUND INTENSE...like youre at the movies no joke....so thats all i gotto say..

I just bought this and received it 2 days ago. I got a good deal on a refurbished one for $185 and it was packaged like new and all the components were like new also.The only thing I personally didn't like about it is the huge subwoofer, but I see that most people like that about speaker sets :).The speakers are really nice that you can turn them to be mounted on the wall on stand on a table. They're very nice and high quality looking.The sound is just amazing, no distortion, buzz, or anything. Everything about it is great.The control center is great too. Well lit, easy to use controls, automatically detects the input. I bought a splitter for optical cables, which I have all running into that. Works great. With my Blueray player this is definitely a killer combination.

I am really impressed with the quality and dimension these little speakers offer. I was looking for a set of portable speakers for my Gateway NV52 series laptop. These fit the bill perfectly. Not a lick of trouble installing, true plug and play. Comes with a durable carrying case which just adds to the value. Volume output is plenty loud if that's your game. Great product.

All I can say about this unit is WOW. The unit is heavy so make sure they deliver it to your door step. The instructions are very stright forward. The wires are a little short if you are putting the speakers on the wall which is easy because of the swivel mounting. Twist it one was it works on the desk or twist it the other way and it mounts on the wall.I bought some extra wire from Radio Shack. I wanted to use white wire so it didn't show up coming down the wall. The easy way to keep the wires stright is to put a piece of masking tape on the end of each wire with the location of the speaker, ie RR(right rear), LF(left front) etc. I tried some heaver wire but found there was not that much difference in the sound quality. I didn't try shielded wire because of the cost and I don't hear any interference with regular wire. The rest of the setup is pretty stright forward. Just plug the wires in the back in the correct place that are marked. Make sure about the correct color speaker wires to the correct terminals. The way I have used the remote is on line of sight to a distance of about 20 ft. You may be able to get more distance.The sound is as good I could ever imagine it would be. You can adjust the Center speaker to hear stronger vocals or turn up the surround to bring a more balance sound where you are sitting. If you really want to make thunder turn up the sub and listen to the windows rattle. Just make sure it is not to close,(two foot minimum) to your monitor, computer, TV, or any games or DVD,s. The magnet is strong and heavy. The worst thing about this unit so far has been that I can't get the optical 5.1 to work with my computer.This is the second time I have had really quick delivery service from Amazon. I ordered this unit on a Wednesday and it was here on Friday using regular shipping.

I bought the speakers so we could watch movies at home. With 20in monitor, the LogiTech speakers and my son's computer we had a great time for a fraction of the cost of a new TV. The kids (20 and 16) and I are very happy.

These little speakers are great - solved my problem of having bad speakers on my laptop, and they're small, portable, and understated enough to sit at my desk at work without overwhelming the small space (and bugging my co-workers). They're light enough to travel with, and have a little case too. Love them so far.

Decided on the x-530 after many of the reviews here. Shipment arrived in 2 days. I find the price point acceptable for this product.Item Subtotal: $58.75Shipping and handling: $16.20Total: $74.95These are the first set of 5.1 speakers that I've ever owned. All I can say is, I wish I would have gotten 5.1 speakers sooner. Playing Left 4 Dead was awesome with the thumping bass of the shotguns roaring alongside the crisp sounds of the swarms of brain-eating zombies.My issue was these speakers didn't work properly with my onboard realtek sound card. Then I hooked them up to my Razer Barricuda AC-1 soundcard and everything worked perfectly. Luckily, I had the Razer AC-1 from before that I purchased cheap.Overall very satisfied, I just hope these speakers last for a few years unlike the 4 pairs of logitech headsets that all broke in less then 1 year.

First i must say i heisted when it came to buying these but i must say i was VERY impressed with the performance of these speakers i would recommend any to get these speakers, THEY ROCK, the bass treble and everything sound so SMOOOOOTHHHHH. Once you hear these speakers you would never go back to the simple 2.1 sound. I LOVE MY SPEAKERS. I recommend these speakers to any one.

I'll be brief. This is a mature system, i.e., this speaker system has been around for a while, and therefore there have been some firmware updates which make it an even better product. The system works perfectly, does exactly what I want it to do, and is extremely versatile. I have the speakers plugged into my 720p TV/computer monitor with an optical cable, and use the regular cables to plug them directly to my computer. Without going into details, this allows me to use them with my computer, the TV, and my laptop computer which I plug into the TV via an HDMI cable. All in all, they are extremely versatile, great sound, great bass, music sounds terrific as do movies and computer games. The price for these at Amazon was a total bargain at the time I purchased them, the cheapest I found, and the shipping was quick. What's not to love. Finally, these are extremely well made, quality all around, not cheap plastic speakers, but solid metal and plastic made with great precision. You will not be disappointed.

These speakers are an excellent value for the money. Installation couldn't be easier. With a simple connection to a USB port, you'll be listening to superior audio in seconds. These speakers are light and come with a carrying case that fits easily into your laptop bag. I highly recommend this set to anyone looking for external laptop speakers for less than $60.

After my really nice Klipsch speakers broke (not really sure how) but they all stopped working for some reason. I needed a replacement of course. I like my music and whatever LOUD, the Klipsch did that for me. I bought some Bose and they wouldn't even crank up loud enough in my room. I like to hear it in the other room while I am taking a shower and so on. These speakers fit the bill perfect. Although I have not completely set them up yet, they have done the job with just the three I have set up, left, right and center. I really haven't played with the settings too much, but from what I have played with it is awesome. If you are looking for LOUD speakers, multi format, THX, and well designed good looking anywhere speakers, these are the ones. I was very skeptical of Logitech brand as I thought they were a cheap replacement type speaker, but I would definitely buy these over Bose anyday now. Not very many I have heard will rival these. I use them mainly for my computer and have not tried to hook them up to my stereo (I have really nice ones for that), if I do then I will write another review.

I bought these speakers last week new. They are okay for a PC/laptop but not considered too good for surround sound on a tv set. The smaller speakers rattled and sound a little discontorted but that might change once I get the chance to hang them up on the wall. If you are looking for better surround sound for gaming/tv buy the more expensive $300 ones Logitech has. However if due to budgetary reasons you want good ones these are ok.

The Logitech Z-5500 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System is phenomenal. I bought it based on the large number of positive reviews for this speaker system and I wasn't disappointed.The 4 satellite speakers and the center channel speaker is clear as a bell and can handle very high volumes so I don't have to worry about driving them too hard. I cranked up the volume all the way and couldn't get these speakers to buzz.I was also blown away by amount of sonic boom the bass speaker is capable of putting out. Having used a puny 2 speaker system for the longest time, I can really appreciate how the strong bass adds so much more depth and excitement to the sound from a movie.I had to experiment with the placement of the 4 satellite speakers to get the best immersive sound experience. These speakers are perfect for a home theater surround sound system!I'm absolutely thrilled with these speakers because they have added immeasurably to my enjoyment whether I'm listening to music or watching a movie. It is definitely money well spent. Now I just need a bigger screen...

So far, I really enjoy the Logitech 5.1 sound system. my onboard sound card does the decoding of DD or DTS but the Logitech unit has that capability too. I really enjoy having the remote control and the sound is very crisp and clear with good bass from the sub.

These speakers are remarkably effective for their size. I really like the fact that they're USB powered and do not need a separate power supply. For my needs, they're perfect.

I think to be fair that this is really a complaint to Amazon.com because I did a search for USB speakers and these speakers that I bought are not USB. This was a grave disappointment especially since I paid about a whopping 15 dollars for shipping and handling and if I decided to return them I would have to pay a similar amount which would have ended up being more than the cost of the speakers.Too bad...I hope Amazon.com is more careful...I am considering not using Amazon.com again

I am hearing impaired and for me this is a great product with terrific range and a more "crisp" sound than the more expensive Bose system which I have also tried.
