My daughter connected her laptop (vga) to her t.v. but the volume on her laptop was not loud enough. When she connected this gadget to her laptop,she call me and said PERFECT!!

These speakers have solid construction and great sound quality. Being able to directly plug my headphones into the speakers is really helpful, since my computer tower's headphone jack doesn't work. I am surprised that such good speakers aren't very expensive!

I had been using my laptop speakers or headphones for a few years. And it's been okay. But I happened to see these at a low price, so I thought why not...I made a great decision. These speakers are excellent. Great bass and treble for such a simple set up.

I love these speakers! A vast improvement on the speakers that came with my laptop and I love that they clip onto the top of the screen so not in the way.

This speaker only uses one cord (the usb) for both power and sound, so you don't have to keep track of two separate cords.

After several years of owning these speakers, they still sound great even when compared to brand new systems. Certainly still worth buying today, though i am sure it is missing quite a few features compared to the new systems available.

These speakers work really good but unfortunately all the wiring is permanently made to the units and that’s a real disadvantage because it totally limits how one can configure/arrange them to their usable desk space.

I had these speakers for a long time at least 3 years. I think a decent while longer. I picked them up at staples I thought I paid around 100 bucks for them maybe not since they are pricier now. Anyway short and sweet enough bass that my drunk roommate could annoy the neighbors. It isn't the deepest bass on the planet but it should be ample for 95% of users. It puts out more sound than one would expect looking at it. I have better left and right speakers that came from an older logitech set where the subwoofer died. Most TV's have a computer jack and you can control the sound with a remote so it is a cost effective alternative to a 500 dollar receiver and speakers. Though you can always upgrade the speakers. The subwoofer your stuck with so if you need super deep bass maybe look else where but it is enough to bother the neighbors without being distorted. Only thing I would like to see that I don't think other sets have is an adjustment for the sound in the rear. Though I have found the more connections you run through the line the less output they have so that allowed me to modify the rear speakers being too loud for me. If you are doing a living room you will need extension wires for the rear speakers.

I finally bought speakers for computer and these fit the bill. I was just looking for decent sounding, inexpensive speakers so we didn't have to use headphones all the time. One note of convenience is the option for headphones ON the speaker itself -- I've learned some speakers don't allow this. The volume is PLENTY loud and quality fine.

Didn't have room for the 2.1 setup, however this small speaker set provide plenty of sound for the money. Only minor complaint is they seem top-heavy and easily tip. Stuck them back in the corner where they couldn't be knocked off the desk.

I have bought other speakers before and they have all been excellent for sound. These speakers however are not loud enough for my bedroom TV. They have a great sound but just not loud enough. They may be great for desktop computers or other devices that are less than 10 feet from you. I would recommend them for computer games and such but not for TV speakers at all.

These are Logitech..need I say more? They sound awesome and were reasonably priced. You just can't get better quality than Logitech. Easy to hook up too.

I purchased this speaker on June 30 and was not thrilled with the sound but it was at least better that the wimpy speakers on my Dell laptop so I could at least hear a movie. But after only 6 weeks the cable is broken. My return option to Amazon ended on July 30. I checked the Logitech website to see if there is a replacement cable but there is no replacement for this model. I realize that this was very inexpensive but I would expect to get more than 6 weeks of use for $25. My advise - don't buy this speaker.

very good quality and easy to use. a far improvement from my stock built-in speaker(worst comp speakers ever!)in my toshiba laptop. i would highly recommend as long as you dont expect a 'boombox' type sound. still has sufficient range to watch movies, listen to songs , and etc. a good buy!

These speakers compliment my 42 inch lcd tv. Since most of the new lcd screen do not have great built-in speakers. These pick up the slack. These speakers enhanced my movie watching and game playing. The sounds do not distort and the base is just enough.

I needed inexpensive speakers for a variety of purposes (computer, iPhone) - most of the options were either too cheap in quality or too expensive for what I needed.These are solid, perhaps a bit heavy, but I think that's a good thing. The sound quality is better than expected for something in this price range - in fact, they sound great!I am very happy with these speakers, and would recommend them.

As much as I would like to rate these higher, I just can't bring myself to give them above 3 stars. They are good speakers for the price, but I wish they were great speakers for the price. Logitech always produces great products, but this one is just good. My main gripes are that they sound a bit tinny and there is almost no bass to speak of with these. I think they could have done better, but I'm still satisfied with mine.

This is a great speaker. If you're looking for a small portable speaker for your laptop, pad, phone, etc, this is it. Forget the clamp - you'll be lucky if it fits your laptop. I usually sit the speaker next to the laptop. It has plenty of volume, surprisingly good sound, and you never need to worry about the batteries running off since it runs off 5v USB bus power. I often use this with PowerPoint presentations with a room full of people. If you need big sound, this isn't it, but it's perfect for sound clips here and there and occasional YouTube video sound. I have several of these, and highly recommend it.

We wanted a relatively cheap pair of speakers that we could use in the kitchen with our iPod. These have fit the bill. We knew going in that these were not high end speakers, but as they are mainly used for background music, they do just fine.

Let me start off bye saying my first impressions was omg these are amazing but 1 week later i cant hear the vocal that amazingly put i would say it just perfect a few days ago i hooked them up to my xbox box and tv and they are amazing so these are amazing for those task and pretty good for music plus there loud :)

As with others, I was shipped an EU power connector. People, this is NOT the EU, ship with a PROPER POWER CABLE. Seriously, is it THAT hard to do? Talk about a total scam.Secondly, less than 6 months after the purchase, sub and center have disappeared. They just cease to function. This is just ridiculous, given that I paid close to $100 for this productIt's amazing that this company is still in business, shipping horrible garbage like this.

I used to have a single round speaker that connected to my laptop but it kept falling over. This one clips to the top of my laptop securely and produces great sound.

These speakers do their job, they are not exceptionally loud or send out exceptional highs and low tones. But if you need some speakers for your computer, these will do and they are not terribly expensive.

These speakers have transformed my lap top into a real theater with surround sound. The sound is super clear and now I can really crank up youtube and hear Netflix. I could barely hear my lap top speakers, now it doesn't matter.

(I paid less than 20, which definitely influences my rating.) The speaker is a nice design by Logitech, as instantly solvable and functional as their popular wireless mouse. It affords moderately better sound than the onboard stereo speakcers of my Macbook Air, so unless you're an audio amateur, ignore the claims about "incredible" or "awesome" sound that I'm seeing in some of the reviews. The sound is louder and, therefore, apt to make a good first impression, but upon closer listening it soon becomes apparent that low frequencies are extremely deficient. I would not recommend the speaker to a musician (especially a bass player) or for use with a new iMac (the built-in speakers are now clearly superior to many of the add-ons).Pros: It comes with a well-fitted carrying sack, a nice touch by Logitech. Also, the clamp is quite secure yet does not leave its mark on the computer screen. Also, the speaker has a base, so it can be used as a self-standing unit alongside the computer-user.Cons: Apart from the limited fidelity is the potentially problematic sacrifice of a precious USB port required by this speaker--the price of its not being battery-powered. Since some laptops (the 2008 Mac Air comes to mind) have only a single USB port, this configuration could require some tough choices (if I were selecting among a mouse, a hard drive, a CD burner, and an accessory speaker, I know which would be first to go.)

Of course you could find better sounding speakers. Definitely not for this price though. For someone on a budget this is a fantastic deal. I bought mine used and they are in really good condition. May be some marks here and there but everything works, looks, and sounds pretty good. Cords are good for my desk and i like the changeable stands for them. Also that the center mounts on the monitor. The Subwoofer is really kicking for its size. I would reccomend it for people who don't want to spend too much money but still want good sound.

I bought mine from (fulfilled through Amazon by "Dependable"). It came in a USED condition and with a European electric plug. The box and the manual were both in Spanish - not a biggie since who needs manuals for a system so simple anyway. Also there were no cables to convert the input to RCA so it could not be connected to a TV or a DVD/Blue Ray player. Maybe I just got unlucky here but just wanted to make people aware that these issues may exist - there are European spec models of X-540 being sold within the US and that you need to make sure that you will have what you need to connect it your TV/Player or PC (I'm not sure but I believe that the PC cable that came in the box also had just a female input end on the PC side - so I think it would need a male-to-male extension to actually plug it into the computer. But again, maybe it was just unlucky for me and the other packages are fine and have it all - just make sure of that before you depend on it working out-of-the-box.

First thing I noticed when I plugged them in was the slight crackle-y buzz noise. It's annoying. But, it doesn't do it with my phone, only my laptop. Also wish there was a power button on the speakers themselves. That way I could shut up the buzz without dealing with wires.As far as sound, these things are awesome. So far, they provide a pretty full sound. Sure, it could be better. But not for this price. I was looking for something cheap with decent sound, and I got something cheap with very good sound. Probably an 8.5 out of ten for me. I'm a happy camper. Would buy them again.

My old Labtec speakers were better.More control better bass. And they were cheaper.Had them 10 years. I could control both bass and treble.
