These speakers are really well worth the investment.. got these for my son who likes to listen to music on his laptop and play games, boy what a difference these speakers make, he couldn't be happier with the sound, has alot of 'bang for the buck'.. has a nice case too as a bonus.. great gift at an affordable price

The only thing i can say about this product is Wow. Tremendous sound, the bass will vibrate things at a fairly low level... people may say that the highs and mids aren't good, but they sound fine to me, and i've had a few other people tell me that they sound fine as well.From my experiences, you won't be able to find a better system for your computer..The only complaint i have is that they could have supplied longer cables for the back speakers to make them easier to mount on a wall. but you can get longer wire for pretty cheap, and you can get screws to mount it at some place like home depot or lowes.

Overall, I'm pleased with this product. However the bass from the subwoofer sounds a little distorted. I have to adjust my equalizer when I play music from iTunes so I don't get too much bass. For the money, it's a good speaker system.

Subwoofer is way too big, especially since all the speakers connect from it. Sound quality is "ok". The sub does not blend too well with the satellites and gets kinda annoying. This would be ok with bigger speakers but small satellites need a higher crossover frequency with the sub to compensate for the tiny sound from the satellites and these speakers don't do it.

When i was looking at reviews i really wanted to know how long the cord to the rear speakers were. So im posting this to let people know. The rear speaker cords are 14 feet long.As far as the rest of the system, the speakers are amazing. I had a cheap pair of 2.1 speakers before and these blow the doors off of them.

I doubt you could get a much better sound for $50. The quality is significantly better than the internal speakers of my laptop. To eliminate feedback from vibration, you just need to place something absorbent underneath the speakers (such as an old mouse pad).

Try all you want to with the competitors of this particular set of speakers but they don't hold a candle to the sound these things make. Even without a dedicated tweeter they sound so loud clear and clean. The bass from the 10" longthrow woofer will get you in trouble with your neighbors. They sound even better when paired with a X-fi sound card. Gamers and music lovers alike will be impressed with the sound, I call then KlipschProMedia GMX A2.1 PC Audio SYS killers. Spend the money and prepare to have your mind blown at the performance! Mine are still hitting hard after three years of pumpimg out the good stuff.

People, this is the best speaker system I ever bought. The bass is awesome. It shakes the house and the neighbors don't like me anymore not that they ever did =) I gave it 4 stars only because it's bigger than I thought it would be. The woofer is slightly larger than a standard milk crate and also really heavy. I still haven't connected 2 of the 5 speakers and I'm thrilled.

I've purchased several speaker systems over the years to attach to my PC. For the most part, they are all "ok" at best...lacking bass or clarity. These speakers are the first I've had that I would say are a match for anything short of an audiophile stereo system. The clarity of the sound is amazing, and the bass can shake the room. The speakers are connected with standard speaker wire so you can go crazy and string them to whatever distance you want, and spring for monster cables if you're so inclined. The input options for this are awesome as well - I have devices connected to both the Optical and SPIDF connectors and when friends come over I can attach an MP3 player as well.The only complaint I have, is the module for controlling the inputs does not autoswitch to the incoming signal (something my previous speaker system did do). You do get a remote so it's not really that big an issue, but it's something I feel Logitech shoulda got right.If you're looking for computer speakers that are a rival for most home stereos, this is soooooooo the purchase for you.

What a pleasant surprise. After deciding to replace my fried desktop at home with a notebook, I hated the small built-in speaker that came with it. My MP3 music files were no longer worth listening to with the replacement computer.I did a little research and settled on the Logitech V20 speakers. Considering what they're intended for, to provide portable decent sound to a notebook, they're excellent. Even using a USB hub with no external power, the speakers performed superbly. If you're expecting a full audiophile experience, look elsewhere. If you want decent sound to replace the lousy notebook built-in, look no further.

I've never owned a surround sound system before this. And now I don't think I can go back to the old school stereo again. The subwoofer has terrific sound and gets really high! I can shake my whole house!Pros:-Great Sound-Sleek cool look-Compact-Comes with RCA adapter-Speakers all swivel so they can be wall mountedCons:-Mainly for PC only (but works fairly well with TV's)-Wattage isn't all that high-No immediate line in (so you can't hook your MP3 player up and get SRS right out of the box)I've heard a bunch of people say that the cord's for the rear speakers aren't long enough. I disagree. They are at least 12 feet long and if you need something longer than that you should move up to a home theater system rather than a PC kit. Note: To experience these speakers to the full, you will need to have a good sound card (5 or more ports) otherwise the rear and center speakers may not work. You will probally also need to setup the sound card to use 5.1 sound. This can be done through the control panel->sounds and devices->advanced and if this doesn't work you'll need to use the software that comes with your sound card and adjust speaker setting to 5.1. I have a realtek soundcard and found it in the control panel under the name "sound effects manager."Overall, this is the BEST 5.1 set for under $100. I'd venture to say that because of it's low cost it's the best PC stereo set out there costwise. If you buy a 6.1 or 7.1 system you won't get that much of a sound improvement other than volume. And for a small room, this thing can crank it out enough to hurt your ears!

Let me start off first by saying that my experience with Logitech products has been mixed so my review is fairly unbiased. I had a much much smaller 6 piece Logitech setup before this and the subwoofer burned out because it had no ventilation ports (excellent.) However, I bought this set after much research. The way I have my computer set up is kind of like a HTPC, although it sits at a desk. I have a big 27" LCD TV that is great for watching movies so I wanted some speakers that could supplement the experience. I have a motherboard with Dolby Digital support (older Nvidia Soundstorm) so I planned on buying a receiver and some nice home theater speakers. However I changed my mind after reading the reviews on this, and I'm glad I did. It saved me a lot of hassle, and I got a nice integrated system with DTS encoding. As far as sound quality goes, this system is excellent. It is very clear on Half Life 2 and Call of Duty 2, among others. Additionally, when running a DVD through PowerDVD and with DTS enabled, the sound quality is unparalleled for the price. As far as bass output goes, some people have a tendency to exaggerate. At first the bass output is very unimpresive until you tweak some settings. Once you get it figured out, the bass on this setup is king, as far as computer setups go. However, it is not earth shaking like some proclaim. I have a feeling some people have never heard a loud car subwoofer or bigger home theater sub. I will say though, that at about 3/4 volume with bass turned all the way up, all the pictures in my room shake and the disturbance in the living room is very profound. The other great aspect of the sound quality is you can crank it up to max with no distortion. At max volume it is so loud I can't be in my room but it is perfectly loud enough for when having small parties. Being as loud as it is it keeps people from snooping around in my room during these parties :)There is one somewhat minor problem that leads me to only give it four stars (this may have been mentioned.) The speakers will often make a loud pop noise whenever another electrical device is turned on. Having two roommates, this happens more than I would like. My neighbor, who bought the same speakers after hearing mine, experiences the same issue. There may be a fix for it, I just haven't gotten around to looking. All in all though, I would recommend these speakers.

They are nice looking speakers but they arent very loud. I didnt think that not having control over the subwoofer would be an issue but it is. I really dont like not being able to modulate the bass. Like I said, you get what you pay for. Im gonna put them in my office and be happy I didnt pay a lot for them.

This turned out to be a awsome set up. It has great sound and features on it,plus the bass from the subwoofer is pounding. This is a great computer speaker set up for anyone who uses their computer to play games or watch DVD's or listening to music.

These speakers are definitely worth the price. I have owned a Creative 5 satellite speakers with base and paid over a hundred dollars for it. It was junk. The base just hummed and the speakers were low quality. For decent quality and power get the Logitech speakers. "These are pretty good speakers," is all that needs to be said.

This product is very good, don't get me wrong. The sound out of these speakers is very good especially for its price. The only problem I have with the speakers is that I cannot get mid out of them. Only when I turn matrix on do I get the mid, but when I do it sounds very...dry. Without matrix the sound is very full and great. So my only complaint is that only with matrix do I get mid. Still this product is worth the buy. I am very satisfied with this product. Oh and the bass is not overpowering at all. You can set it to whatever level you like and it does not feel like it is the only thing you hear.

I wouldn't recommend using these for a huge house party but if you're looking for great, clear sound at a decent volume then these are for you. These speakers provide rich bass and clear mid-range and highs. Plus they look great! I've decided to ditch my home stereo in my bedroom and just use these. They're that good. Highly recommended for the price!

If you are a teen like me who really didn't have much more than allowance and birthday money to go on, this set is the one to get. The sound is not "Hi-def" but it is still very (I mean very) clear, it also gets loud enough so that you can lay down on your floor and get your back massaged. That was really what I wanted, I wanted to hear my music more than a whisper, and this delivered. If you want the best deal, it is also found here on Amazon.com don't look any further. On of the best purchased I've ever made. fantastic price! 5 stars!

I've been basically living in a hotel room with my 12" PowerBook G4. The PB's speakers are fine if I'm sitting right in front of the laptop, but if I'm on the other side of the room, or even a couple of feet away with the sink running, I can't hear it. It's the same if I'm driving in my car and a passenger is watching a DVD on the PB... I can't hear anything over the road noise with the built-in speakers.So I've been wanting some external powered speakers, but I definitely didn't want to have to lug around another power brick. Saw these at a local store at a competitive price (with tax, it's pretty much the same as Amazon's price) and decided to bite since I had seen them for $20 higher elsewhere.I am pleasantly surprised. I am kind of an audiophile, and I have a nice stereo system at home, but I'm not looking for super high quality with these speakers. The main thing that I want is loud enough to hear over the sink running or the wind noise in the car. And these are certainly loud enough. I have them at two volume clicks on my PowerBook (out of 16 maximum) and they're loud enough for sitting here typing. When I crank 'em up to 8-10 clicks, they get loud enough that I know I'm disturbing the neighbors in the hotel -- and they sound pretty good to boot!They have worked flawlessly so far with my PowerBook. I plugged them in and switched the audio output source in System Preferences. Work great, even the volume and mute buttons. The play/pause/forward/back buttons don't work with iTunes on OS X. I have not yet tried these speakers with Windows.These speakers are VERY bassy. Overwhelmingly so. They sound very muddy without corrective equalization. I have set an aggressive bass reduction and slight treble boost in iTunes' equalizer, and it gives these speakers pretty decent sound balance. Nothing worth writing home about, but certainly good enough for everyday use, and better than the built-in PowerBook speakers.I am also impressed with the build quality of these speakers. I felt kind of stupid paying $60 for two 1W speakers, but they are cleverly designed and feel pretty sturdy. They look great next to my PowerBook, and the buttons have a nice feel to them. The included carrying case is surprisingly nice as well.I'd give these 5 stars if they had better (less muddy) sound out of the box and if the transport controls worked with iTunes.

I bought this a few days a ago and it shipped overnight which was very nice.Pros:great sound, easy set-up, no need to buy a recieverCons:I Needed a converter cable to hook it up to my TV, the wires to the back speakers were not long enough.Over all a great system and with about $20 of extra cable/wiring I was able to get it set up and running in one try.

I was really excited to receive these speakers. I am a teacher and have the technology to run movies, etc. through my laptop, but needed more sound than the small laptop speaker provided. I really liked the Logitech V20 Notebook speakers. They were small, and the carrying case would make is very easy to travel between work and home. The price was absolutely fantastic.I tried the speakers out at home, and was pleased with the sound. However, when I used them in my classroom, they just were not powerful enough. I was disappointed they did not give me the sound I needed in my classroom, as everything else about the speakers were top notch. I returned these speakers, and just received the Dell WL6000 120v speakers. Definitely not as portable as the Logitech, but much more powerful.If you are looking for a compact set of speakers to use on the road in a hotel room or other small room, the Logitech speakers would be an excellent choice.

This is a great system. I don't know about the other reviews and there problems, but mine works just as promised. I have one of the wireless speakers plugged into the same power strip as my Netgear wireless router and have never had a problem. At my old address, there were several people that had home Wi-fi and it worked fine there to.The only grip is that the rear speakers output is not adjustable. I would like a little more out of them, but ,even in retrospect, I would still buy this system.

These are good affordable speakers. Buy them at the store instead of paying twice as much for shipping.They can handle a moderate volume and distort before getting LOUD loud, but the bass is good and they sound great compared to a 2 speaker setup.

I like the sound of the speakers, but they vibrate all over the place. Need to find a rubber mat to put under the speakers to settle them down. The search begins! I found simple cloth pads do the trick.

The Logitech V20 Notebook Speakers are good speakers for the money. They are a huge improvement over standard laptop speakers. There is some bottoming with music at loud volume but for my laptop use they sound great.

These speaker sound fantastic, and the built-in stands are stable unlike others I've seen. The sound is rich and suprisingly full of bass, as reflected in the specs. I would definitely recommend these as a step up from the V10's and over any other USB-powered speaker. The semi-hard case is a plus too. May be a little bigger than what some folks want in terms of portability but the case is very rugged.

I got hooked on Logitech speakers after my Klipsch surround sound broke right after the warranty was up (they wouldn't replace it). I had a previous model of the Z-5500 speakers and was absolutely thrilled with them! I was told that Klipsch is one of the best speaker brands, but Logitech blows them away! Anyhow, much to my disappointment, my old Logitech surround sound was broken during a recent move, so I purchased the Z-5500 speakers. WOW! I'm picky about my audio, but I couldn't be more impressed. The Z-5500 is much better than the previous model I had. The wireless remote was a major upgrade for me and the speaker wire is MUCH longer this time around, allowing me to mount the speakers all over the room with rewiring anything. Not to mention, the sound absolutely blows me away! This is a top-notch system at an excellent price! Comparable Bose systems are twice the price. I couldn't be happier with this purchase and have absolutely NO complaints!

Now as for the person who wrote that the room shook when they turned up the volume on the speakers...well...I don't know if they were living in a room the size of a doggy bag from IHOP but they don't do that. Over all they are great speakers for the price but I don't think they are meant for use in a large room. I live in a dorm so these work perfectly because they do not turn up very loud. If you are looking for superior quality and pristine sound then these aren't the type of speakers you need. If you are looking for something simple and basic then these will get the job done. Good job logitech!

The other day, while in an electronics store, I was watching some hoodlums messing around with that "Guitar Hero" videogame. What impressed me was not the game (or their antics), but the fact that the speakers which were flooding that large room with sound so impressively were these unassuming-looking ones by Logitech.I immediately purchased some and have been very happy with them. The sound is both crisp and deep. Installation is entirely plug-and-play; in fact, there is no disk included.Only one minor gripe: you have the ability to plug headphones into one of the speakers, but if you do so, the volume control knob no longer applies and you have to go through your OS interface to turn down the volume. This is the only thing that has disappointed me in an otherwise worthy speaker system.

The X-530 speakers are good quality at a low price. Easy to setup and connect to your computer or game console.I did notice they make a popping sound now and again but according to Logitech support this is not unusual for speaker systems so there you go.

Just to clarify the "rattling" issue for other future readers:If you connect the system with regular 2.0 stereo inputs, and only use 2 satellite speakers, then you will find the sub "rattles" when you use the system, why?There are 5 output jacks on the SUB, one for each satellite speaker. If you use the system as a 2.1 system, in which way you leave 3 of the 5 jacks unused, then there comes the problem---air gets in and out from the SUB (of course only when the SUB tries to make a sound) through the 3 open holes on the unused jacks. This makes the annoying sound of "rattling"!How to solve the problem if you only want to use the set as a 2.1 system?Answer: just block the 3 open holes in whatever way you want (three of your fingers, three Q-tips, tape them, etc.) This works immediately!

I've actually only had them plugged in for 2 days and I'm very impressed. Great sound and they aren't too big, only 7 inches tall and 3 inches wide. I purchased them because I needed to replace my old bulky speaks. The only thing I don't like about them is that they can't be used without the subwoofer. There is only one power source and it's through that. Besides this I'm very happy with them. I'll update more as my experience continues ....

I just wanted to buy some good speaker for my notebook pc and I found this guy on deal with free shipping so I just grabbed..everything is nice with it but I can't use its 5.1 feature..Max i can go is 2.1 ..I donno why they make 5.1 digital surround system for laptops when there are not much provisions to plug to...or may be i'm missing some here...so i'm using 2 speakers and SubWoofer and packed remaining 3 speakers back to the box...

These speakers are GREAT!. Thier sound (to my ears, despite some of the other comments) are much better that what I expected, and certianly as good or better that my Polk bookshelf speakers that is attached to my regular sterio system. This includes the base, mid and high ranges.Im using them with the Soundblaster Live external card, which im sure is a significant factor in thier sound, as well as it provides the flexibility in shaping the sound the way I like it. I've also hooked them directly to my MP3 player, and they sound great (in sterio only though).The only small drawback I found was the heith of the speaker case is too big for any of the shelves I've got (its too tall). This required me to be creative in placing them. But on the other hand, maybe its that extra room that contributres to the great sound.You cannot go worng with these speakers. I only wish I had ordered them a long time ago.

I was sick and tired of the cheap tin cans that came with my computer so I decided to get with the twentieth century and buy a sound card and some decent speakers. I was fortunate to get my sound card for free from a friend and then I found these Logitech X-530 speakers for under $50. I was hesitant at first because of the cheap price, but I can tell you now there is nothing cheap about these speakers.The build quality is excellent; the speakers themselves are very stylish and surprisingly sturdy. I was amazed by the quality and clarity of the sound when I first turned them on. For instance, I was watching a DVD (which I've watched a dozen times before) and during the film I heard this phone ringing so I got up to answer my phone and then I realized the sound was actually coming from one of the speakers. I had never heard this sound before while watching this particular movie.For the money you will not find a better set of surround speakers.

Ok, after reading many reviews I came to the conclusion; I should try my luck with the 5500z. Let me tell you, after hooking up this 5.1 I immediately turned the sub to 3/4, the center to 1/2, the surround to 1/2 and volume to 3/4. I first played Shpongle's "Dorcet Perception" and nearly flipped out. I had gone to a Bose outlet previously before purchasing this system, and for a 2.1 sound system it was $399. I got a 5.1 surround from Logitech for $279... almost half the price of the Bose. The 188 watt sub is very nice; it BUMPS. Trust me. Overall this system is one of the best buys available, truly your "bang for your buck". If you have less than around $800 to spend on a system forget about Bose; I did. After cranking this system I began comparing the sound to the Bose system i heard for twice the price. Go with the 5500z from Logitech, you can't go wrong.
