I picked this camera up for my boyfriend because I read the reviews and it seemed to be a good option. We're in the film business and I wasn't looking for anything high-end, but I did expect more from this thing.

- The screen is extremely grainy

- The picture is decent quality, but this thing struggles deeply with lighting issues (takes a long time to focus and still proves a soft image or overlit most of the time.)

I really wouldn't have many complaints if it wasn't for the fact that I got my parents a Kodak Easy Share 4 or 5mp and it is easier to use and produces much better pictures. We just got this thing, so I'll keep you updated.

Overall, he wanted a thin camera he could hold in his pocket and take anywhere. Well, he's got it, I just hope he can get a decent shot occasionally.

* My recommendation would be spend a little more, do some research, and stay away from this "cute, little orange" camera.

Великолепно

First digital camera and WOW, great camera for an Amateur. Easy to use with my limited knowledge of all things technical and as I learn more it also has many capabilities. Love the large viewer (if that is what it is called) 3" and for someone who has a hard time seeing it is great. In less than 1/2 hr was up and running with it, had pics on computer and was emailing them away. No technical review here, just an ordinary person that is happy with her great choice of a wonderful camera. Good luck.

I am going to tell you that this camera is very nice. The picture quality is good up close but the distance picture are not that great. All 3 times opitcal cameras are bad in my opinion. Anything 6 optical and above takes a great picture.

I like this camera and all the features. The size is great and the LCD screen is PHAT. Great. One thing though...out side in full sun, the LCD screen is hard to see. Inside ...beautiful. The videos are ok. Grainy. Outside videos are good to great.

Just indoors is funny. Great sound.

The video games are fun. I love that option. The functions on this camera are great. THe response of this camera are teriffic! The zoom is so quick and the start up is just a fast. I do not like the charging cable too much. It is combersome. No charging dock. The little covers for the holes to the power and usb are very flimsy. You have to be gentle and careful. They just are hanigng be a thread, persay.

I would look into a battery charger so you don't have to keep plugging the camera into the cable charger. It takes a NP40 size battery. But...that is ok. It's not that bad. I just have to remember to be gentle.

But I still like the camera...Thank you.

PS...I bet you will never find the perfect point and shhot pocket digital camera. All of them have faults and problems with picture quality. I give up looking. What needs to improve is the light and the optical zoom. Opitcal zoom is so important. Mega pixels have come a long way but its still no good without having a great optical zoom.

I purchased this camera for my son's 10th birthday. He had already become quite a photographer with a regular 35mm camera and I knew that he could truly hone his skills with a digital camera. This camera was an absolute hit and without having to read a single instruction, he has become a master photographer. He continues to discover new avenues to explore with this wonderfully complete camera package. Way to go Fujifilm!!

For 8 months, this camera did what it was supposed to. Then the lens would not open. Sent back to Fuji under warranty and 6 weeks later, it was fixed. No issues for another 8 months, then sometimes the lens opens and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it will come into focus and sometimes it won't. This = missed photos or some blurry shots.
It was decent while it lasted, just bought a Canon.

I purchased this camera based on previous good experience with an older model Fujifilm camera, reviews here, price and functions. At the same time, I also purchased the larger xD card. Almost out of the box, this camera has given me nothing but grief. What others had said about the blurry photos I can certainly echo. A month or so after purchase, the lens would not open, or it would not open totally. I first thought the batteries were dead and that was the cause....after changing the batteries, the problems still existed - SOME OF THE TIME. Not always - just sporadically. Just enough to cause me to miss many unique and memorable photo opportunities.

In addition to that, now that I'm looking at other brands of cameras I find the xD card I purchased is not transferable so I'm out the cost of that as well. Another malfunction of this camera is after "erasing" all photos on the xD card, taking more photos and uploading the new photos, I found that all the photos originally erased were still there and uploaded again with the new ones? I don't know if that was a camera or memory card malfunction but it just added to my dislike of this camera.

I would NOT recommend this camera to anyone....it's a total dud. I'm very disappointed with Fujifilm and am now looking at Nikon and Cannons. Good luck Fujifulm...you need it

This camera takes beautiful pictures in sunlight or brightly lit indoor scenes. The huge screen is fantastic for reviewing pictures. However, the low or ambient light pictures I've taken so far are not so hot. There are often artifacts in the images and a general blurriness that makes them look "soft" around the edges. To be fair, I see these inconsistencies more prominently when reviewing the images on the computer, while the printed 4x6 pictures seem pretty good. I would recommend this camera for amateur digital photographers who don't plan on printing large prints. It's compact size and easy to view screen make it a nice everyday camera.

The camera is as the reviewers said, small, easy to use, large display. My wife said, "oh, I can use it to show friends pictures of our twins". Yes you can with pictures saved on the card. I don't know if you can transfer old pictures onto the card easily though. (Update: You can transfer pictures from your computer but it may be out of sequence depending on the file name)

On to the extras. Despite the low cost, I bought the two year extended warranty as friends have had their little cameras break for all sorts of reasons. I also bought from Amazon the case to protect the screen and the lens from accidential opening. Oh yes, I also bought a 1GB card as the 16MB card held about 16 2MP pictures. This added about $70 total.

For the price, a very nice deal for everyday picture taking.

My wife asked for her own digital camera she can carry in her pocketbook. The V10 was an excellant choice. Fits in her former cigarette cases. It is simple to use and transfer pictures to the HP printer or computer via the USB cable (included). No longer have to move the memory card out. The SDx card with the camera is only 16mb so we purchased the 1gb memory and it has all the capacity we need. The best feature is the size of the screen for viewing your shots and the easy review buttons. Well worth the sale price of $139.00

Takes great pictures for the price which is about half what we paid for a Kodax camera recently that we took back because it would not do low light worth a darn. This camera takes good low light with the flash and takes really unbeliveable videos with just the switch of one button. Sound is also very good. We recorded several minutes of live performance by my band and it came out great.

I LOVE this camera! I actually bought this (grey) one for a friend, I have the cool orange one (mainly so I don't lose it). The large viewing screen is fantastic! It is clear, bright and easy to see even in bright sunshine. The camera powers up quickly and has a fast response after you snap. The zoom is fast and easy to use. I really like and use the function where you can take 2 shots (in very fast succession), one with flash and one without and then compare them. A lot of times I keep both because each one highlights different features. The videos are are also of superb quality. I have a 1GB memory card and have taken over 600 pictures at full (5 MP) quality. The battery has incredible life. I have only charged it twice, and that's with shooting video also. For the price, I feel I got much more than I paid for!

To be honest, I am more particular to Canon and Sony cameras, but my wife got this for herself so I got to play with it. It has a very nice LCD screen, decent battery life, and easy to navigate menus and controls. It's comfortable to hold. The pictures it produces don't seem any different then my Canon and Sony cameras for computer and web images, but I haven't tried any prints yet.

I don't think it turns on quickly enough, not like my Canon and Sony point and shoots. My style is "shooting from the hip" so to speak, at random, sudden, and unpredictable moments. Also, the USB cable it uses to connect to the computer is not standard, and it does not work with the same cable my other cameras use(they all work with the same cable), but it comes with its own. Or just get a card reader. Have fun.

My purchase of the V-10 certainly is the best money that I have spent in long time,you definitely get the most bangs for your bucks.The well constructed,compact design,makes you feel as though you are using a real professional tool & not a plastic wannna be toy.The camera works very well in the auto mode,however the camera possesses a wealth of manual options to help you taylor your photo just about anyway you like.The menus & button controls are very user friendly,& you have got to appreciate the large 3" monitor. The long lasting rechargeable battery is nice to.

When people see my camera and the photos I've just taken on the BIG screen they want one. I've "sold" five friends on this camera. The ISO of 1600, the immediate readiness, and the clear photos are not found in any other camera. I researched cameras, chose this one, and I am NOT disappointed. I have a 2G memory card and the battery that came with the camera. It lasts up to 700 photos, and more, and the battery can go from 8am - 5pm even taking 7 -8 videos. I will buy another battery to charge and take along for the off the road trips when charging is not possible.

I have had this camera for about a year. It takes excellent pictures, but it does eat batteries and recently- it finally died. None of the pictures I now take come out. Sometimes they do and sometimes they have tons of thick white scratchy lines on them. This has never happened before. I always keep everything on automatic.

I bought this for my wife to carry in her purse. She seems happy with it, but I was not overly impressed with the picture quality. I haven't fully tested the quality in all conditions though, as some reviewers here have done. It does seem to take better outdoor shots. Also, I HATE not having a viewfinder. Yes, you must use the LCD screen to compose your pics. This is OK until you are in bright sunshine, where it is nearly impossible to see. Also, I have to put on my reading glasses to take a picture. Otherwise, it's a cute, small camera, but unworthy of the Finepix line.

This is a great little camera. I bought it for my son at college - great price. I did a lot of research and found that it had great reviews. It takes very decent close-ups whereas my canon older type of digital doesn't. I was going to buy a Canon for him, but they had nothhing in the same price range with the same size (the fuji is quite compact - not extra thin, but smalll enough to put in a pocket and has a 3" screen) the only drawback is the set up (why I gave it a four star)- I thought the manual was confusing, but once you get through how to set your pictures on the computer - it's fine. I would recommend this as a first digital or even second!

Small enough to fit in your pocket, takes great pictures and quick movies.

I know some people want a complicated camera, carry the instruction manual around so they can triple backlight, reverse polarize and occillate.

I'm into just using the camera, and don't want a complicated piece of equipment just to snap a couple of quick pictures.

This is the one.

I bought this camera from Amazon for only 128.00 Wow!

It was a great buy for such compact camera with many functions (in compare to Canon or sony)

It is very easy to learn and has big screen to view it. Small and light, it is just perfect size (not too small or too bulky)

It is especially good if you are a biginner.

Beautiful picture quality. This is the best shopping in this year.

Ps. Game function is not really necessary.

We bought this camera to replace our old Canon 3.2 MP. It was a bad trade! This camera seemed easy to use, but once we uploaded the pics onto the computer, they were very digital-looking (pixel-y?). They were awful compared to our old camera. Also, the whole back of the camera is the LCD screen and I didnt like that. I didn't want to touch the screen and had trouble with the camera feeling comfortable in my hands. We returned it and bought the Canon 8MP Powershot and loved it!

I got this camera when it was only $126 and my gosh was it an amazing deal! This camera is small and I can bring it where ever I go, the screen is HUGE and I didnt have to much of a problem with finger placement, but i can see if you have larger hands that may be a problem. The only thing that is not 100% great about it is battery life...it only works for about 150 shots... overall and AMAZING camera..i recomend this to everyone!

this is a perfect size camera with perfect picture quality, i love it, i am a fuji camera fan bcoz of there photo quality even sony cannot give photo quality like this, this camera does pretty well in light but no in dark in auto seeting, will have to learn using this camera in dark, rechargable battery is good but if you run out you have to charge for 2 hrs or have a replacments that is extra $$, xd card is kindda expensive, but over all i will highly recomment for $140 its a no brainer.

I love this camera. I ordered this camera from amazon and so far it has exceeded my expectations. I even tried using this camera in total darkness. I wasn't able to get a clear picture of what I was photographing on the display screen, yet the picture came out perfect. This is my first time using a digital camera (outside of the one on my phone) and after glancing through the book, I feel I can hold my own with this camera. I would suggest getting a memory card if you plan on storing a lot of photos on the camera since it only comes with 16mb. But it does come with its own usb cable and software for downloading the photos to a computer or printer. For the amount of money invested in this camera, you receive amazing quality photos.

I bought this camera for a trip to New York. What a great little camera for the money. The pictures came out great. The software is easy to use and the camera has some wonderful features. 3.4x zoom is not the best but if you use that with the digital zoom its more than adequate. I used the video feature with great success. The camera even has games and fits comfortably in your pocket.

2GB Xd-flash Memory CardsThis had everything I wanted in a digital camera. When it arrived, I found it easy to use and the pictures are great. I do recommend buying a one or 2 gig xd memory card to hold enough pictures for a great vacation. You get about 10 pics on the included card.

This is my fourth digital camera, and it's great. Virtually no delay between clicking the button and the picture being taken. I've had a delay with other cameras that causes you to miss the exact shot you were after which is frustrating, but this camera doesn't have that bothersome delay. One session with the manual is all that is required for the average user. Battery life is good. Pictures are sharp. If this had been my first camera I wouldn't have owned the other three.

I purchased this camera because is is compact but has a huge view finder.

My first impression is this camera is heavy for it's size even with the battery removed. It feels like it is made of cast iron.

The rechargble battery is a little unusual, so don't expect to find a replacement anywhere except in a dedicated camera store.

The XD memory card that comes with the camera will let you take 16 full resolution pictures, so you need to buy a spare. I recommend an H (high speed) 512 MB or 1 GB memory card.

I have yet to test the durability. More on that later.

I buy this camera below 130 $ , so I dont expect so much. Main thing is nosie issue. Ýf you set ISO setting auto, camera set iso 640 with flash than you get useless photo. Second con is flash range, very limited but good for close up shots. A spare battery should be obtained.

On other hand, this camera is very cute, quick and effective. There is no shutter lag so as multiple shots can be easily taken.

If you need a go everywhere and simple camera, buy this.

I work over at C%^#*t City and I sell digital cameras and computers. Unfortunately, we do not carry Fuji cameras, which is a shame. I play with all other brands at work and they just don't measure up to the Fujifilm finepix v10. Other brands really focus on the megapixels, but they tend to forget about the other components that make a camera great. Thankfully, Fuji is not one of them and they made an awesome digital camera that is feature rich with amazing picture quality. The super CCD censor really makes this camera much better than others in its class. I'm thinking of buying another one for my brother so he can replace that Coolpix camera of his.

What is not to like about this camera. The two pictures/natural light-flash comparison photos are super. The video mode is a big leap better than comparable cameras. The large screen, terrific 18x zoom, automatic adjustment of iso settings makes this camera almost foolproof. Low light shots are amazingly good. Terrific buy.

Based on some favorable reviews that I read I purchased this camera at Costco.com. What a mistake that was! When I took it out of the box the first thing I noticed was the door to the battery compartment was swinging loose. Upon closer inspection the door would not stay closed when there were batteries in the compartment. I tried to take a picture but the batteries fell out and the camera stopped working. The camera body is nearly all plastic, which may account for the flimsy battery door.

Save your money and buy a better camera from a different manufacturer.

I finally decided to bring my grandmother up to speed and into the new millenium by purchasing her a digital camera. I did a lot of research and I definitely think I made the right choice; she loves it and cannot get enough of it. It's so easy to use, the screen is the best I've seen (especially for people with waning eye-sight like my grandma's) and not to mention fun! When she goes some place with her friends and they take group pictures, she instantly knows which one is hers because of the awesome orange color. The screen is very bright and the pictures are crystal clear. The flash does a great job in evening out the light so that the foreground is not too washed out while the background is dim. I highly recommend this camera it is a great deal for the price.

I bought this camera for an upcoming vacation, and I'm very pleased with it so far. The price was a little more than what I wanted to spend ($320), but for a 3" LCD there's no better deal on the market right now.

Pros:

--Attractive camera that's slim enough to fit in a big pocket or small purse.

--3" LCD is stylish and will impress all your friends. Seems pretty strach-resistant.

--Super fast start-up time. Its literally about a second.

--Pictures are clear and beautiful!

--Rechargable Li-ion battery means you won't fly through expensive AA batteries.

--Menu options for flash, picture quality, ISO, self-timer are very intuitive.

--In particular, there is a great flash setting takes two consecutive images for each picture; one is the pic with flash, the other is without. You can go back later to decide which picture looks better

Cons:

--When you're using the LCD viewfinder the picture always looks grainy, but the pictures are perfect on playback so it don't really matter.

--If you're comfortable using only the optical viewfinder, like I was, using the LCD alone can be an adjustment.

--Menu options for more advanced manual features like white balance are not as clear and accessible as they could be

--3.4x optical zoom is good, but not great

Summary:

This is the camera I love to keep in my purse for those moments I never anticiapate needing a camera for. You can whip it out, turn it on in a second, use the huge LCD to find the image you want to take and snap. At the most you might spend a few extra seconds changing the settings.

While this camera is perfect for me, its not for everyone. If your priorities are an optical viewfinder, powerful zoom, or great manual controls consider something else.

I own several digital cameras including a high end Fuji. This Fuji however takes decent enough pictures,but seems a little noisy for a 5 MP camera.

For the price about 125 dollars you will not find anything better.

The large screen is fantastic for showing pictures.

Bought an extra battery and charger on the popular auction site for peanuts.

Overall I am happy with it and can recommend it.

AWESOME CAMERA! Just what I wanted. The thing I wanted MOST is a FAST, FAST camera. This is it, this camera takes super fast pictures of my little girl in action. She is usually almost impossible to get a good picture of. My HP camera was so slow in comparsion. If megapixels were higher I would have given a 5 Star. In my camera I used the H-speed 1GB card, it is also super fast. Pictures upload to my computer (50 pics) in about 2 seconds! Using PICASA, Amazing! Camera body is also awesome high quality brushed steel beautiful! Great job Fuji!

High ISO and large screen were the reasons for my purchase. The screen is great but, when you force the ISO 1600, it seems to darken the pictures more than in 800. I have a S5200 and that one seems to adjust other options like white balance much better when an ISO is set w/o having to go to full Manual option. Definitely something to improve! The auto option seems to work much better and I was surprised with how good the high speed three frame shooting works. Also, the two picture function(it takes two with slightly different sets automatically) saves me on a lot of 're-posing'

This camera is perfect for my needs. It takes great quality pictures and has many different options for advanced users. The only thing I don't like about the camera is how still you need to hold it to make sure the picture doesn't end up blurry. Overall I would purchase this product again.

I have owned already many digital cameras from so-so to high-end kinds; from Minolta Dimage S414 to latest Canon Xt. Ofcourse there are pros and cons for every single one of them. However, for the price I paid and the quality that I received - I am very very impressed by this Fuji V10.
