There are no problems with this camera itself. It's a little bulkier than newer cameras but I only bought this because I needed a cheap camera for my daughters birthday party this month so I don't really mind that it isn't as slim as others. It's still pretty small. I've had better cameras but for the price, this camera is totally worth buying. However, beware that if you buy this used you will not get a charger(Unless other sellers do include the charger. The one I bought from did not). The shipping was incredibility fast but it was only inside a yellow envelope stuffed with packing peanuts. I was so afraid that it was broken but thank god it wasn't. On the bright side, it did come with an 8 gig memory card.

This battery is literally identical to the one that came with the Fuji W3 and comes with a protective plastic sleeve (great for making sure they don't short out against things in your camera bag!). I have 6 of them and I can't even tell which one originally came with the camera. At the current price, I can't see any reason to buy a third party battery!

What else can i say, for the price and the period that it came out this is a fantastic camera, if you're looking for a cheap simple macro camera this thing is awesome for it as it has a very good macro settings. It does have video which is 420P not the best in this day and age but can come in use. The camera is small and light weight and is very easy to use. I highly recommend buying rechargeable battery's for it and a simple 8gb card will do fine.

I bought this camera as a replacement and upgrade for my 6-year-old 7MP Nikon CoolPix camera. Unfortunately, it fails at both tasks. If I had paid full price for this camera, I would be returning it, but for under $350 on black friday, I will keep it.Pros: Versatile - There are many different shooting options, but without the hassle of multiple lenses.Battery life - HUGE upgrade from my Nikon Coolpix that uses regular AA batteries. Not surprising but very nice.Macro - This camera takes close-up pictures just as well as my Nikon, with the advantage of easier focusing. In this regard this camera is an excellent replacement for my Nikon.Many manual options - Obviously my CoolPix did not have any options for manually adjusting, well, anything. It had several excellent presets that worked well for me, but this is a nice upgrade.Cons: Picture quality - Compared with the sharp, beautiful pictures I took with my Nikon (many people have been surprised when I told them my pictures were taken with a point-and-shoot, not an SLR), this camera falls very short in all but the macro setting, so far. I have not tried any portraits yet, and judging by other reviews those should be good as well. However, I take a lot of landscape photos, and this is where the X-S1 really comes up short. The color is good, but none of the edges are sharp, so cropping or enlarging the landscapes is out of the question. So far mid range still-life photos have been underwhelming as well. I am hoping that more practice with the manual settings on the camera will help me resolve some of these issues.Overall, I would only recommend this camera at Black Friday pricing.

It never hurts to have spare batteries for your digital cameras . . . but up to $21. each precludes many. I found your 2-battery kit for well under that battery cost alone, and it also includes a wall- and car-charger. If you use the listed batteries, go for it!

This seems to be a great deal for the price. I ordered it and took it on a trip to Hawaii without testing it with my camera first. Bad idea! I found to my dismay, it does NOT fit the Fujipix XP70. The batteries are slightly different. So beware. THe Fujipix XP70 takes a NP-45S battery.... Apparently I need to read more carefully.

Works great! The extra batteries come in handy when at an extended "event" like the zoo. The charger works fine. When inserting the battery into the charger, pay attention to the "+" and "-" signs. Just looking at the battery you might think it goes in a particular way, but that's not the case. That's why the battery does not appear to lock into the charger or does not seem to charge.

I have yet to fully test the longevity and durability of these products, however I am not at all concerned that they will not meet or exceed the OEM Fujifilm NP-50 battery and charger. In fact, I put the charger's design and versatility a par above the original that came with my Fujifilm X10. It features a swing out North American type plug in, the kind that swing from the side and stay rigid while attempting to insert into an outlet. The car charger is a separate attachment which I can already see as a useful item. A European plug converter just adds to the options, hopefully it will work next time I go to the Far East. For the batteries themselves, they came charged and appear to have every bit of quality I find in the original Fuji NP-50, only time will tell...

Bought this with the hope that the price was not indicative of poor quality and unfitness for its purpose as was needed in a rush for a holiday that week. Ordered it using Prime, arrived promptly, got it delivered to the Premier Express store across from my house - Collect+ - simplicity!

Opened up the box, plugged my flat NP-60 battery into the charging point. Connected this charger to my spare usb power supply and it worked - it managed to revive the camera batterywhich had been flat for months, now remains half charged after my week's holiday (videos/photographs taken plus playbacks through HD TV).

Very pleased and impressed - would recommend seller/product to others. Thank you.

The Charger is one of the major bonuses in that I can always top up my batteries and carry spares when I leave the house. In my opinion this is an essential accessory to this or any digital camera.

A lot of people have compared this camera to DSLR cameras and given it bad ratings in the past - this was at a time when this camera was selling for over $600. But, one must not lose sight of the fact that this was and is a bridge camera. I got this camera for under $400, and for this price, it beats all other bridge cameras hands down, when it comes to image quality and features. The look and feel of the unit is purposeful and elegant, and the build quality is excellent and at par with mid-range DSLRs. It has a 40% bigger sensor than most other bridge cameras in the price range, which results in excellent image quality. With a wide aperture of f/2.8, as against f/3.5 found in most other bridge superzooms, one can get good shallow depth of field and macro shots. The lens system is decent and gives acceptable images at full-zoom, but I would not recommend going over 14x if quality is an issue. The features can be easily accessed, thanks to sensibly laid out controls. Though the camera weighs close a kilogram, it feels very good in the hand. I strongly recommend this camera to anyone looking to buy a camera with good image quality, but can't afford a DSLR (if you're okay with the bulk and lack of insane 50x-60x zoom-levels found on some newer superzooms).The newer models (SN: 23XXXXX or newer) do not seem to have issues with lens droop and orbs, like the older ones did.

I bought this kit to support my new FujiFilm FinePix XP200 Underwater HD camera.

The batteries themselves are form factor clones for the venerable KLIC-7004 cells first used in the Kodack playsport, the first underwater simple camera. However they hold more power (4.1Wh vs. 3.4Wh) than the original KLIC07004. The battery which shipped with the camera was an exact clone of the KLIC-7004 with an equal power rating.

These newer batteries yield longer life and I rarely have to change them during a typical day of taking pictures at family events.

The Charger is one of the major bonuses in that I can always top up my batteries and carry spares when I leave the house. In my opinion this is an essential accessory to this or any digital camera.

The only problem with this was that the charger did not work properly; since I could charge them in my camera I didn't make a big issue out of it. The batteries after having used them for some time now don't hold the charge as well as the original battery (a different brand) that came with my camera.

I picked this camera up twice and sold or returned it both times. I was wanting something with both great telephoto reach and a nice size sensor. But this thing is a solid chunk. It's far larger and heavier than my Nikon D5200. Plus it's been knocking around for a few years, the technology has fallen behind. Bottom line is, it stayed in the camera bag. With a 24mp camera the crop factor makes up for the lack of zoom on the longest lens I can afford for my Nikon. I sold this and got the Sony WX350 for $200 on Ebay. It goes out to 500mm and it miniscule. The sensor is smaller but the images are still great because the tech has moved it up a notch. Plus with 20.4 MP I don't loose anything on telephoto reach because of the cropping of the larger image. I wanted to like it.

This revitalized an old camera. I was not expected to need this size drive ever. After taking it on vacation it was a blessing. It could store up to 2000 photos at 12MB each and we took over 1,000. I would definitely recommend this if you want to hold onto an older camera that you like the picturers it takes.

13 months and countless chargings and these are still going strong.

The batteries might be a little weaker than OEM but not significantly. The whole kit has worked great, all in all, very satisfied.

For those who don't understand about batteries and cells, these are batteries, which are made from cells. Japanese cells can be used to assemble this battery in China. Maxell (max cell), Panasonic and Fujicell are all Japanese cell makers, so I don't doubt the use of Japanese cells in this battery and if one ever quits I'll crack it open and report what I find.

I hope this helps you to decide this internet purchase.

*Update* It's been almost two years now and I'm still using these batteries. I've been using another camera more often, more recently so these haven't been been charged more than twice a month the past few months vs twice a week, but I still have no complaints with them after over 6000 photos.

The lens does not extend to take pictures. The shutter switch is missing.The USB cable is missing. The SD memory card is missing. The batteries were dead. The vendor never checked it out.

I then sent it back via UPS with your amazon's return UPS label. On June 17 UPS picked it up and scanned it into the system. Now UPS says it's lost, and that you or amazon must initiate a package search. Tracking number 1Z602V042628822379.

That was clearly my bad day.

I've had a Fuji S100 for some time now. My main photographic activity is wildlife, nature and surfing shots, at a minimum of 200 yards. I print at fairly large sizes, usually 16x12 or 20x15in. I've gotten great results with the Fuji, but it has one weak spot (don't we all?): it has a burst of about 3.7fps at full resolution, with a 7-shot limit.

In search of a better burst, I did some research and ended up buying a Sony A550 (body only) and a 28-300mm (42-450mm equivalent) zoom lens. The Sony shoots 5fps (continuous autofocus) or 7 fps (single focus only) with a limit of 24 JPEG "fine" or 116 JPEG "standard" images. Plus the full zoom put me 12% closer to my subjects.

I tested the Sony against the Fuji, to see what else it could do better. After all, on paper the A550 appears superior to the S100. But the results were surprising.
The Sony A550: 14+mp, CMOS sensor, APS-C size.
The Fuji S100: 11+mp, CCD sensor, 2/3" size (less than half the APS-C size).

One test of long-range photographic equipment is to shoot license plates at long range. If a license plate is legible at 300 yards, there will be pretty good detail in a surfing or animal picture taken at the same range. The other factor I consider, besides detail, is the overall smoothness and quality of the final image.

The first thing I noticed is that the Fuji S100 has more manual user control than the A550. So much for the condescending "point and shoot" designation!

At full zoom (400mm equivalent for the Fuji, 450mm equivalent for the Sony), both cameras captured legible license plate numbers at similar distances in the zone between 300-450 yards. But the Fuji created smoother images: both straight and curved lines of objects were smooth, and surrounding foliage was crisp and clear.

I normally shoot at ISO100 in daylight, to keep noise at a minimum. But the Sony A550 has a minimum ISO of 200 (I've been told this indicates that ISO 200 is the optimum setting for the sensor) so I couldn't go below that with the Sony. The Fuji S100 has a minimum setting of 100, so I used that, as I usually do. I didn't see much noise difference between the two cameras at those low ISO levels, but there was some.

The lighting conditions (passing clouds) were a bit irregular--but of course they were irregular for both cameras--and I was trying to adjust to having to shoot at ISO200 and other intrinsic differences in the two cameras, but I'd have to say that all in all the Sony didn't do any better, in terms of IQ and overall picture quality, than the Fuji. Maybe the difference is in the lens quality, but the Sigma lens I was using is generally well-regarded, and in the opinion of some users is better than the comparable Sony lens.

I also compared partial zoom (150mm equivalent) shots of palm trees against a cloud-strewn sky and sea. Here, the results were even more in favor of the Fuji.

Both cameras were set at about the same shutter speed and aperture. In fact the Sony was set a little faster, and the aperture was a little smaller, which should have resulted in less blur and greater depth of field.

Results: the Fuji S100 is much more clear and focused throughout the image. The most distant palm trees in the Sony A550 images were not in clear focus, although trees at an intermediate range (about 75 yards) were. (You might say, well, yeah, it's called depth of field. But at f6.4 at 75 yards, that doesn't seem to be the issue, and in fact the Fuji at a slightly larger aperture had no such problem. And if I stopped down the Sony, I would have to up the ISO again, leading to more noise. In short, the Fuji allowed more flexibility.) This could be a lens problem, and I'm going to try another lens in a couple of days when it arrives. But so far, Fuji wins on sharpness and focus.

The Sony images were really noisy. Because it was late afternoon and cloudy, I had to use ISO400 to keep the picture from being underexposed. (The next lowest choice, ISO200, made it too dark.) I didn't want to shoot slower, because the cameras were hand held. And aperture was limited by the extended zoom lens. At the same time, the Fuji handled the entire situation much better, obtaining adequate exposure at ISO100 and creating images with no visible noise until the image was enlarged to the point where individual pixels began to appear. So as of now, the Fuji S100 wins on noise. And also on ability to get enough light at 1/4 the ISO.

I'm going to give the DSLR another try in the next couple of days; wait for the weather to improve, and try to get some action shots and some breaking waves and see if there is a way to get better pictures. As I've said, I bought the Sony A550 primarily for the faster burst mode and higher burst limit. But I have to ask myself: what's the

I really wanted to like this camera. After reading many reviews, I was concerned about the drooping lens and focus issues. The first camera I received was a later serial number but had the drooping lens at full extension. I requested a replacement, which had a tighter lens, but it was an earlier production lot. I found that the auto-focus locked in easily, but the pictures lacked punch and clarity, even when compared to my older Panasonic DMC-FZ28. The range of the lens is fantastic and the it is great having such a smooth zoom action. It is a fairly fast lens, as well, f 2.8-5.6. It worked well in all kinds of lighting, although there was visible noise at 800 ISO and higher. In the end, though, it just didn't work for me.
