Before owning this headset(plantronics .audio 365) I had a plantronics .audio 360(both are about the same price). The two headsets are very similar, but there are a few important differences. First this pair(.audio 365) is MUCH lighter than the .audio 360, and is far more comfortable and it does not squeeze the head like the .audio 360. However, it does not block outside sound as well as the .audio 360's did. The bass quality of the .audio 365 is better than the bass quality of the .audio 360's. For some, the bass might be a little too good, it can drown the higher notes out sometimes. My complaint about both headsets is the microphone. It isn't very receptive, and it is positioned off to the side rather than in front of your mouth. But I don't use the microphone very often, so it is not a major issue for me.Conclusion: Good sound quality at a fair price, with a mic that leaves a little to be desired. The sound quality on the 360's and 365's are very similar, but I prefered the way the 360's sounded. The 365's are much more comfortable and do not weigh the head down.

Having gone through 2 other headsets, and returning them both because of either poor fit or poor sound quality, I turned to the ever-reliable Amazon products reviews to aid in my search for a quality headset at a great price. I don't do audio recording or anything like that - my primary uses for the headset are Skype and listening to iTunes. The voice and sound quality are more than adequate for these purposes. In addition, I wear the headset for long periods of time, so comfort is key. The light-weight feel of the headset is great, and the ear pieces cover just enough to drown out excess office noise w/o making me completely unaware of my surroundings. Finally, several reviewers commented on the folding mechanism and size. Yes, they could be more compact once folded, but it does the trick, and they fit just fine in my laptop case. When unfolded, they hold their shape just fine. The only thing that would be of great improvement would be a carrying case. In any case, this is a great purchase for the quality and price.

I would consider this headset as a very good value. Use it for Skype and the earphones and microphone seem to function fine. Installation no problem. Due to the headset being foldable unit, it seems a bit delicate but overall for a travel set, worth having.

I recently bought a MacBook (unicase, 13") and discovered that device has no regular microphone input port. The Planctronics Stereo headset solves this problem by using a USB port for both audio input and output. Setup is a no-brainer: insert into a free USB port. No software installation is needed. OSX will immediately list the Plantronics headset as a new audio device. Audio quality (in/out) is excellent. Excellent choice for those who want to use their Apple laptop for Skype calls.

This unit worked fine for a few weeks. I was using it to make phone calls on my Yahoo voice account. Then the mic stopped working. Probably because the mic pivots where it connects to the head unit.There must be some wear and tear that goes on in there that ruins the connection. Having been purchased online for just $13.99, it wasn't worth the trouble to try and return. So I bought another unit made by a different manufacturer from a local retailer. This one also had a mic that pivoted similarly, and this mic also broke after about a week. At least I was able to return it to the retailer, and instead got one that was designed differently. The one I have now is made by GE and is basically a headset that you can use just as a headset, but you can plug the mic into a jack on the headset to use for making phone calls. Or you can plug the mic right into the computer and just use the computer speakers to listen. Sweet.

We selected this product for a departmental need for headsets with both good sound quality and voice recognition at a reasonable price. All of the users are very pleased with this product. The sound quality and voice recognition are excellent, and the foldability enables users to easily transport the product with their laptops. Having the option of either plug or USB connection enables maximum flexibility. The cord is quite long, and comfort is good. We highly recommend this product.

This item was purchased for use to create screencasts of software for self-directed learning activities. Screencasts are created with Camtasia on a Dell Latitude D830 laptop computer. The Plantronics unit is sufficient for the task. However, I find the microphone too sensitive. Sequestered in a private room while recording, I note with disappointment that laughter down the hall, the building heating system, and so forth are able to be heard as background noise.

I picked up this headset for use on my MacBook Pro with Rosetta Stone. They worked right out of the box. No software to install, no drivers...just plug and play. They deliver pretty good sound and so far my only complaint is that the cable is really long - so long that it tends to get tangled up on stuff. I don't really benefit from being able to walk 15' away from my computer with the headset on, but I suppose someone might.

Good sound quality but I have two major problems with the way it fits. Ok, my head is probably a bit narrow but not excessively so. The headset slides out of place if I tilt my head down. Secondly, the microphone angle is limited in how far down it can go. The result is that the mic hovers over my upper lip and is always in my periphery, annoying and unnecessary.

I was trying to find something that worked under linux and worked well enough to do podcasts without breaking the bank. While it did not work just plugged right into my mic/headset port (driver issue) it worked great with the USB plug it came with.I am able to record a bi-weekly Linux Mint podcast with very little fuss and decent sound.

I have used this set several times and communicated with others who use this same Plantronics unit. It performs entirely satisfactory- audio clarity via the mic and earphones is quite good. It is comfortable to use. Folding makes packing or carrying it while traveling convenient. I use mine without the USB (~$10 add-on) connector which adds convenience if one can't get at the computer jacks easily. All in all, an excellent value.

Got them in a timly fashion and they are of good quality. Fold up seems a little fragile so if you are rough on your headsets like I am this might not be the best option for ya otherwise they work just fine.

I bought 2 of these for home and work use. Within a month - and I blamed this on my kids - on was broken - the earpiece was snapped off. Now, 7 months later, my other one the microphone part has stopped working mysteriously. So I think although inexpensive, these are worth what you pay and I am now seeking something more durable.

I used these for screencasting some software training sessions. The mic quality was pretty good using XP (though a little limited in the higher frequency ranges). The headphones were acceptable for music, but not nearly as good in the area of bass as a lower-cost full ear-cup model from Plantronics designed for gaming (HS-1). I tried using this 470 headset for screencasting on a new Vista Notebook (High-end Sony running Home Premium, all updates + SP1), but I got a really bad hum from the mic when recording with them. I tried troubleshooting the issue but no luck. I then took my my HS1 headset and plugged them into the 470's USB adapter and the recording hum disappeared, which leads me to believe that there might be an issue with the mic on this 470 with the Vista O/S, which would be a shame, since the portability of these, along with the overall useability (in XP anyway) make them a nice solution for the notebook bag. - Recommended, with reservations/concerns for Vista use.

Does what it says - foldable plastic headset with good speech accuracy in programs like Dragon Naturally Speaking.The cord has a volume and mute switch. You can either plug its two output jacks directly into your laptop's twin audio/mic jacks, or, you can plug the 470's output jacks into the included small USB audio device, which is basically a tiny box with a USB plug on one side and two jack sockets on the other. On my system, speech-to-text dictation accuracy was the same via the USB device or by just plugging the headset right into my laptop. (Dragon NaturallySpeaking actually rated the direct-plug approach as a better signal to noise ratio than the USB-plug approach.)Sound seems adequate while playing music, but oddly, I thought Skype telephony was better with a $10 budget cellphone headset than this $30 name-brand PC headset. (You get a little cord attachment for about $3 which lets you plug a regular cellphone headset into your two-jack PC; "2.5 mm mobile headset to pc converter" @ amazon.) A little spooky to watch the Amazon price of the Plantronics 470 go up and down 20% or 30% day to day.

Have an existing plantronics and wanted to replace it with this one. The sound is low. I increased the volume on the speakers and computer to the max and still it was not good. The quality of sound is good but cannot get louder to give you that theater effect.

Worked perfectly out of the box, very comfortable (and I have a big head!), everything is adjustable, and the only thing left to test is the durability. If it puts up with a little abuse and lasts half a year I'll bump it up to 5 stars.

I'm using this headset with its USB connector on my Mac and it works perfectly with no problems. I tried the Microsoft LifeChat 3000 but the heavy-padded stereo earpieces were too bulky to use primarily for Internet phone. The Plantronics Audio 610 USB is much lighter in weight and more comfortable to wear. It's an excellent solution for my daily use of Skype for phone calls.

this is the first time i've tried a headset mic and would probably be the last. the mic did not work as intended. while most peripherals have updated to usb jacks, this one still has the audio and mic function, which means your speakers won't work.

The second Plantronics Foldable headset works fine,so far.The original headset worked for a few days before the microphone failed. Amazon customer service responded heroically and replaced the defective headset by overnight air delivery service. The headset is very comfortable and the sound quality is great. The clarity of the mic is not the problem but the boom and volume are.The company boasts that the headset has an extendable boom. What they don't tell you is that it is only another half inch of movement which is quite useless. That said, you can't get the microphone close enough to your mouth so that it receives enough db to transmit at a proper volume.I have adjusted all sound settings, put on mic boost, etc. and it simply will not transmit loudly enough to anyone in Ventrilo, Skype or other recording software.I replaced it with a $12 cheap headset which is doing the job of this $50 headset.

I mainly use this product for making phone calls through my PC. Using a messenger, I call regularly my family and friends around the world. Before this headset, I used cell phone earphones. With that, I could hear them very clearly but THEY told me sometimes they cannot hear me.However, after using this headset, all of them told me that they can hear me very clearly as if I were calling them in the same city. As for me, their voices sound a little quieter than when I used cell phone earphones, but still I can hear them very well. A very nice device for international callers.I should write that the USB Adapter did not work for me. It worked, but with a very poor result. Since I don't need the USB adapter anyway, I'm very happy with purchasing the product.

I purchased this headset to bypass the audio buzz problem I was having with my laptop - and it succeeded there with flying colors; I no longer have a loud humming noise when I'm trying to record on screen video. However, to get the noise to go away (it's a ground/power issue on my laptop), you have to use the USB attachment.Some good points:The chord is super-long - you can walk around quite a bit & still stay attached.I can hear audio well with this headset & it's improved my accuracy with my voice recognition software.Some bad points:The mouthpiece is on the left side - for me, this is something that took some getting used to.The headset folds up - while this could be seen as a good point to some, I'm finding it too easy to get the headset tangled up with the chord while it's being stored.If you notice - these "bad" points are weak... this is a great headset overall.

I bought these to use with Skype while traveling on the road so I wanted a headset that would fold up into my carry-on. Even folded up, the unit is rather bulky partly because it is bigger than I expected but also because of the 10ft or so of cable that is excessive in length and unruly when wound up.Aside from that, the sound and speech quality is very good and the mute and volume switches on the cable are actually useful (I originally bought the unit thinking I would never use them). Color coded connectors (pink/green) for speaker/mic would have been a nice touch.

I just got this new Plantronics 470 microphone with a USB adapter to replace two old Plantronics headset/microphones that I have been using for the past 2 1/2 years. I use the microphone primarily for speech recognition, using Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 8.0 professional.The first thing that I've noticed using this microphone is that the recognition accuracy increased tremendously! The playback is also loud and crystal clear. I could barely hear the playback on the older Plantronics microphones, but the playback volume and voice quality on the new Plantronics 470 microphone was about 10 times better! I have tested the Plantronics 470 on my IBM laptop and work desktop computer using the USB adapter, and the volume and quality appears to be the same on both machines. In the past, I usually get worse recognition accuracy with my laptop than my desktop computer.The superior quality of this microphone is due to the external USB soundcard and adapter that comes with it. This external soundcard appears to minimize electrical interference and noise that plague the internal soundcards. I am glad I bought this new microphone, because I don't have to make as many corrections in my dictation anymore!The only problem I have with this headset is when I put it all my neck and bring it back to my head, I would lose a few strands of hair which are trapped by the top folding mechanism.

The Plantronics Audio 310 PC headset is almost excellent and I will tell you why!!Pros: very lightweight and very comfortable, cable length is 9.5 feet long, single earphone (I can hear the children), sound quality is great and my mic must be good!! Everyone says that they can hear me very clear.Cons: NO in-line volume control and NO mute.I bought 2 of them. Look at the low price...how can you go wrong. Way cheaper than anything sold at WalMart or Best Buy.

While currently listening to the headphones listed above I can truely say that they are worth the money. In fact, the price is one of the reasons to get these.The sound from them is crisp and clean. The bass is a little low for me, but on the other hand I play the bass and if it's not shaking the house it's too low for me. :) The headset works great in games with the crisp sound.The microphone hasn't let me down yet. I chat online and the people I talk to say that I am clear and easliy understood. So no complaints there.These headphones are a keeper. They sound great. The microphone is clear. They are comfortable. Good buy.

I purchased this headset mainly for use with Skype and TeamSpeak. I tried it for the first time last night and it did not disappoint. The sound quality from the mic was better than I expected when I did a Skype test call. The guys I was chatting with in TeamSpeak said it sounded great.One pleasant surprise was the audio quality of the headphones. I played some of my music and the bass response was quite acceptable for everyday listening. The headset was truly plug-and-play on my MacBook Pro in both Windows XP Home (using Boot Camp) and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.

I compared the performance of this headset against two others in my arsenal, and the quality of the sound/microphone is far, far superior to any other headset I tried. Speech is just far clearer. (I played the other two headsets into the USB sound card that comes with the Plantronics headset, so it was a fair test. I recorded my voice and played it back with all 3 headsets.)I would have rated it 5 stars except that the folding mechanism of the headset is a hassle...it needs a way (besides tape) to keep it from folding on its own or flopping around at the folding joints. But, even with that difficulty, it's probably the best headset you can buy for the money.
