These headphones are just great. They can be a little tight for people who have a big head like me but they tend to loosen up after sometime. The virtual surround sound is great, ESPECIALLY for movies; i use netflix and these headphones make the movie an even better experience. The bass is right, it doesn't flood the other frequencies, pretty good highs and mids, it could use more mids for music at times but nothing a little EQ can't fix. Gaming is awesome on these headphones, I can play music and play games as happy as can be. The The product would be perfect had the software carried a global EQ. I recommend these to anyone who wants a pair of headphones to fill their entertainment needs; you will not regret it.

Not happy with this headset. Comfort just was not there.To be fair we have used Bose headphones before. The price is very diffrent for Bose compared to these headsets. We tried to like them but just not the same. The Plantronics for the price is hard to beat. The comfort is just not there.

Non-audiophile review:Speakers: Nice clear sound, seems like low base compared to my previous headset. Works for gaming.Microphone sensitivity is questionable. I had to crank my windows intake to 90% to make any use of it. Recordings and voice communications over mumble and teamspeak seem to be very clear.Materials: seems a little hard and rugged at first, but i hope it means durability. Straight wire twists a lot.Controls: microphone switch and volume buttons are very handy

I love them. Very nice, the voice is very clear. The reason I bought them mostly was that the cheaper sets I had purchased had a terrible reverb or distortion. These do not. The 5.1 surround is amazing. You can feel people walking up on you from behind when gaming. Quality Headphones.

It is comfortable, adjustable, and the microphone is crisp and clear when I use it. Because I purchased this product, I am passing my classes with ease. headset is amazing and plantronics is an amazing company, my headset stopped working after a month because i kept on getting the cord stuck and it got pulled and they replaced it within 4 days of sending an email to them with an extended warentee for free, i definitally recommend buying from this company :)

This is the best headset I have ever owned. The sound is gorgeous and your voice sounds crisp/clean! There is a bunch of cushioning around it that makes it very comfortable. It looks clunky on you, but come on, why does that matter?Appearance-wise it looks really cool! The 6 ft. usb cord is thin, but is very secure and firm. Overall this is the best cost-effective headset out right now.

I have a hearing problem and a lot of sound doesn't get to me but after buying these headphones and having some of the most expensive brand named headphones out there, these top all of them. I have never heard such sound before. I would recommend this set to anyone. In fact I'm going to buy a couple more and send them out as gifts.

I paid $50 for this headset after reading many reviews on other headsets and hearing how they all had a flaw in the earpiece. I had a turtle beach headset before this that broke on day 1 of me using it (granted it was their cheapest model but still). So far this headset is working great. The only downside for some people is that the cord to connect it to a pc is very short.. maybe 6' or so. This is not a problem for me because I sit right next to my tower. I'll update this in a month or so if I have any problems.

The 7.1 surround is amazing. I use these headphones mainly for dictation to my computer, however I throw a pause in there for some music or movies every now and then. The old headphones I had were nice, but absolutely nothing like these. My son is ordering a pair for himself now for gaming on the computer.

Pros: Sound in games (battlefield 3, space marine, etc) sounds as good as my 5.1 speaker system does if not better. Sound from music and movies can be incredibly enjoyable. My first experience listening with this headset had me trying to figure out if the music was coming from my speakers or headphones, the surround sound is excellent. That last comment also says these are comfortable. Big cushy pads and a stretchy clamp lets these things sit nicely on my big head.Cons: The button on the left earpiece that let's you switch stero on or off isn't visible so sometimes I lost track of if I had it on or off. I got a dud. The right earpiece has issues. It's not so bad as to completely render the headset unusable, but the fuzz, buzzing and beeping the earpiece makes it quite annoying. However, their customer service was excellent, I got a human responding to my emails right off the bat in just under a day. And it's very easy to claim a warranty replacement.I like this product, and look forward to getting a fully functional headset. I can only imagine it'll be much better then.

Bought two of these seven months ago, for myself and my father. They sound great, comfortable (mostly), are easy to use, and really make pc based VOIP much more pleasant. The cable is slightly longer than I would like, but that may not be a negative depending on your setup.Two complaints, which don't detract much from my rating:-My ears get pretty hot after a while. I sometimes spend 2+ hours straight talking through these, and after about 45 minutes to an hour they start getting a little uncomfortable.-Because they are separate 1/8" (3.5mm) mic/spkr connectors, they don't work with cell phones, or my new laptop (Lenovo X230) which have a single 1/8" combo input. There's probably an adapter I could buy to fix it for less than a dollar, but I'll probably just end up splurging for a wireless set (Plantronics Audio 995 maybe) for the convenience.Overall, I'm very pleased with these, as is my father. Who would have thought I could get a 70+ yr old technophobe to ask ME to call him back on Skype!?

The headband is wide and comfortable, the ear pieces are cushioned well. I like the way the ear pieces are attached to the headpiece. It's not cheap plastic in the shape of a Y, that design left me with 3 broken headsets. These have a rotating post with metal prongs that go in the sides of the earphones body. The sound quality is excellent and the volume switch on the ear piece is a nice feature. I also like that this plugs into your computer by a USB plug.

I have had this headset for about a week now. I can honestly say the virtual 7.1 makes a big difference. Make sure to set up your computer to use the headset as 7.1 (someone else posted a long and detailed comment about it). For under $50, you really can't beat this quality of sound, and it also feels pretty well made. I also sound clear to others via the mic. I'd highly recommend it, though it is worth noting that is it USB only, as some people are against that, but to me it sounds fine.

I have a larger head, and I feel like I've got a vice grip on my head. Hurts my jaw bone at the ends/hinges. I need to try and put the headphone cups on my ear, instead of surrounding it, to prevent pain to my jaw line from the headphones, but then my ears get sore/red after a while.Trying to stretch it out, to relieve some of the pressure/pain, just causes the black plastic to go white, with stretch damage.Great headphones, but don't get if you have a larger head. I wish I could return these (given as gift after 30 day purchase date).

I do PC gaming, so having a good headset saves everyone else in the house from hearing what I'm doing. I bought these because my old cheap headset wasn't working anymore and a friend highly recommended them. Wow!! Huge difference with the deep sounds and the surround sound is incredible.

Great headphones especially for the price, and seem to be better than some of the higher end headphones. I searched for a while before making my purchase and found that these had the best features for the price.Pros:-virtual surround sound-plush soft over the ear pads as well as on the top part that goes on your head-adjustable-mic is crystal clear and moveable-long and sturdyCons:-USB, although this may not be much of a con considering if it were 3.5 mm it would not be able to have the same quality of sound, but unfortunately this means it is not compatible with phones or ipods, as well as PS3 or Xbox 360's

Honestly i like the headset, the sound is great the mic is great the way the buttons on it are set up is perfect. BUT the quality of it is an issue. The padding on the ears gets loose to easily and makes an annoying noise whenever you move. The headset takes me a few minutes to start up once i plug it in. Idk why.

First off when I got these for my windows 8 machine it was very loud. I had them turned down to a 2 in volume and were still too loud. I did a bit of research and found this site to have the driver [...]. In order to get it to work run this driver in windows 7 compatibility mode and you shouldn't have any trouble with it.I bought these as a replacement for my Turtle Beaches which broke at the ear piece. (My family has been a big fan of them and similarly has had problems with cracking around the ear piece.) So I got these with the metal attachment to the ear piece. It feels a lot more sturdy and sounds a lot better then my Turtle Beaches ever did.

I can't believe the value this headset represents. It has been excellent for gaming with the 7.1 surround sound. It is amazingly comfortable and well constructed for it's price point. Other sets i looked at were wireless for this price, but looked cheaply constructed. I am happy to live with the wire for the added quality. Music and movie watching is enjoyable. Bass is a little low, but not enough to make me feel like i'm left wanting more.

I rarely review products and prefer to simply read others and agree with their opinions! BUT, I was compelled to review this product. I purchased these from Best Buy when my previous headset broke at the ear joint when I was adjusting them. I was looking for something awesome (I do most of my gaming on my PC with my headset) and hopefully sturdy to avoid the fate of my last headset. I had originally decided on the Logitech G35 and was ready to buy them when I saw these guys on the shelf. A quick search for them on the web revealed little because they had just been released. I thought about it hard and decided to give these a shot because I had enjoyed previous Plantronics products and thought an extra $70 in my pocket was a good thing.So what's great about them?1. Sound Quality: Simply fantastic. What a revelation it was after using these in game for the first time; the world opened up incredibly! I felt like I was in a new game. Music is also incredibly rich with great lows and clear and crisp highs.2. Build quality: Sturdy, solid, and attractive. I have used them heavily for two months with little to no sign of wear and tear.3. Mic: My fellow gamers have commented that the audio sounds great4. Comfort: My previous headset was rather tight and would cause some ear discomfort after extended periods. The Gamecon 780 is very comfortable and I have worn them for up to 5 hours at a time with no discomfort.This headset has everything you could want, great build quality, incredible comfort, and amazing sound. Give them a try.

I bought this headset because my laptop only had a headphone jack, not a microphone one. The headset sounds very good and the microphone does it's job well. However, just be warned that the simulated Dolby 3D 7.1 sound is not compatible with windows 8, only with 7 and below. The headset still works perfectly with my windows 8 computer, but I cannot get the simulated 3D sound. You can decide for yourself if that is a disadvantage.

The Plantronics GameCom 780 would be the perfect headset if the right earcup speaker didn't popp on audio pitches. Maybe its something to do with my on board sound from RealTek on my a bit older 1366 ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherbaord. Not sure but it did it with my first pair so Plantronics told me rma them so I got a second pair same problem popping noise in right earcup during audio pitch changes same problem in the same earcup. Can't keep these headsets like this it's a shame to cause other than that issue these are almost perfect headsets. Felt more durable than my turtle's mic worked good sound was good otherwise. Only other con was the cord was far to short for anyone to use without a usb extension. Plantronics got some things right with the 780's but overall they failed. Now my quest for a decent headset continues thinking Logitech or maybe Steel Series

Product broke within 6 months of purchase.Be aware that if your product breaks, the Plantronics policy regarding "gaming devices" is to require the customer to RETURN THE BROKEN PRODUCT FIRST, and then they will ship a replacement. So basically, I will have no headphones for however long it takes them to receive my broken product and ship a new one.

I think the Plantronics GameCom 780 Surround Sound Stereo PC Gaming Headset is pretty good. I have astro a40s for my xbox and use these for my PC. They get to be uncomfortable after a while. The sound is amazing. The voice is also outstanding. When i heard myself say something back to myself it sounded great. i would rate 9/10. I would recommend.

Just plug them in, pop in the installation disk, reboot, and you're ready to go.I bought these headphones for gaming and skyping. Oh, and it's nice to be able to listen to music, too, while doing both of those things. The sound quality is also pretty good, too. No complaints at this point.Excellent product for such a cheap cost.

This is the first headset I've purchased that cost more than $20. I've been a hardcore gamer for years and music junkie for just as long; if I had known how much I'd been missing, I would have purchased a good headset a long time ago. If you've been on the fence about spending a little more cash on a better headset than the $15 one you bought from Wal-Mart, you need to commit to giving your ears the experience they've been missing. Buy this headset. Now. You won't regret it.I haven't used the mic yet, so I can't extol that, but the speakers are incredible.You'll want to play every game and song you've ever heard over again just to fully experience the majesty of the vibrations delivered to your eardrums by this headset.

This headset ALWAYS breaks in the SAME spot. Me and my friends each got a pair about a year ago. For NO apparent reason, the plastic holding the earpiece on just snaps after a year. Honestly, I loved everything about this headset until this happened. Now I'm out a lot of money for a nice headset. It's just bad design. Please save yourself some headache in a year, and just look at a different one.

Pros:The audio quality, once the drivers are installed, is fantastic. Great lows and mids, but the highs are kind of off. Without true Plantronics drivers installed the sound is still of higher-than-average quality.Cons:Unfortunately, the great audio only lasts so long. I'm on my third set in 8 weeks. While they're advertised by Plantronics as being durable due to a metal frame, they neglect to mention the plastic clip that holds the two metal frames together. This plastic clip (the cylindrical portion that would be about even with your temples when wearing them) has broken three times now, in the exact same way. This is either a case of shoddy quality control or terrible design. Thankfully I bought these in-store and they can be easily replaced.

It has epicly deep bass, and clear highs and midsThe 7.1 surround sound makes it sound like you are in the battle in games like battlefield 3 and CoDI would recommend this to gamers, and just anyone who wants great sound and comfort at an affordable price

This headset is wonderful. I was skeptical about spending $40 on a headset when I normally buy the $10 headsets and they last for a year or two, but I will say I've been missing out. This one is incredibly comfortable and padded, has a great sound, and the swivel ears make it really easy to fit it perfectly on your head. The mic picks up sound crisply and effectively. Overall I am very pleased with this product.

I ordered these for myself but my son "stole" them. I have used them some though, enough to know they fit my head and sound really clear. Comfort is fine.They are snug, but not too tight. My son wears glasses, is 6' 5" with a head size fitting his height, and he says they feel fine even after a couple hours wear time. Mic sound quality is very good.For the money I think they were a great value.
