i ordered this headset as a cheap backup, i was using the Turtle Beach DXL1. In short, this headset blows away everything i've used before... I'm not sure why this doesn't get a little more hype. I play mostly bc2, and the game has never sounded so great. DO NOT HESITATE to buy this headset. I'm thinking of ordering another, just as a backup. So comfortable, only weird thing is the location of the volume, but this is just griping.. I haven't tested to MIC very much, so cant speak too much on it.

I purchased this for my son last may. It has worked very well and is pretty durable. A 13 year old boy can be hard on electronics but this item was worth it. He loves the surround sound quality of this item. I have purchased a turtle beach item that just didn't last.

Overall this headset has superb sound quality, it feels sturdy, it has an amazing mic on it. It is also great for listening to music with. Though beware if you use windows 8 and certain versions of windows 7 the driver disc wont install. You have to go to the manufactures website, download the latest software, and then run under admin with compatibility mode.

The headset is very comfortable, and the sound quality is very good for the price. Recordings sound pretty good too. The USB is kind of annoying, and for me at least, if you plug it into a Apple computer (my regular computer is a PC), only the headphones will work. Only real complaint is that it is loud. The volume of my computer could be on its lowest setting and the sounds coming through the headset are regular volume. I've tried a few fixes online, most saying to exchange the headset. Until it becomes a real bother I won't, but just be aware your headset may be annoying loud.

I purcahsed this headset 3 or 4 years ago. I love them. Fit great, sound is good and i can use one or both ear pieces depending on my setting. AFter throwing these in my travel bag to many times I have finally broken the wires. Getting a new set, but ordering from ebay for $6. I can't believe these guys are selling an outdated set of headphones for $32!

After installing the driver disk for these headphones I feel that I should have paid more for this set. MY plantronics 780's are a huge step above my old tritons and turtle beachs.For dolby 7.1 surround under $100 this is a great buy!I only wish I hadn't done the amazon super saver shipping because it took too long to get them.5 stars for the product.

I finally broke down and bought a good pair of headphones after my last cheap-o pair broke. Wow, what a difference. As others have commented on, the sound is amazing. My games and music sound totally different now and much to the better.I also use these to participate in conference calls and business meetings at work. Several of my coworkers have commented how much more clear my voice sounds now.These are great headphones, and I recommend them.

A absolutely marvelous and outstanding mid-range headset that is just as good if not slightly better than more pricey ones. It fully delivers a very satisfying sound quality when gaming or listening to music or whatever. Though to me at least the Dolby 7.1 surround sound doesn't fully work though that might be due to some technical limitations or something. But then again you don't really need the 7.1 as I get perfect surround sound without it turned on. I highly recommend this headset.

This headset is not for people with weak necks or who are looking for something minimalist and flimsy. I had a cheap headset that actually lasted me a number of years, but when that finally died I wanted to replace it with something that would provide great sound, and be a bit better designed. That's what lead me to this model.The sound is fantastic - especially the bass, something I haven't really experienced with PC headsets in the past. I am not an audiophile, but these are as good as I need them and produce terrific sound for music as well as games.I have a big head, and this headset was very comfortable - though heavier than some options, it is actually surprisingly light for as bulky as they are.Finally, I really like how long the USB cord is and since it is red it is also easy to figure out which plug it is vs all the other black ones plugged into my computer!

The 7.1 Dolby surround sound on this is AMAZING compared to any other headphones I've tried. It even makes general mouse-clicks seem like they're right next to you. The bass still isn't high enough for my standards, but chances are if I find a pair with high enough bass, it won't include nearly all the great features this pair of headphones has.

Bought these to replace my favorite headphones that are no longer available. It works great, good sound but the Head Band is a little tight on my giant head.I also noticed that one one of my games, it sometimes swaps channels or something. Very annoying to have someone sneak up on you and it turns out they are one the other side!

For the price in which you're paying, these headphones are great. They're very comfortable and come with a great mic. So far the quality seems great and I like the design of it, makes me feel like it will last a long time. I like that the ear pads aren't made of like a leathery material that will easily sweat up your ears. These ones are still soft, yet more durable and are more likely not to make your ears become all sweaty and gross! Awesome sound, they're the best for the price you're paying!

The look nice, are comfortable to wear for long periods of time, the sound quality is excellent. Haven't used the mic yet but I've owned Plantronics telephone headsets before and have always been pleased. I've always went the cheap route on headphones, these are the nicest I've ever owned. I'm happy with the purchase.

I have had this headset for 3+ months now and I have to say this headset is extremely good in my opinion. The mic quality is really fantastic, and I cannot imagine not having surround sound in my headset ever again. Also, a plus side to this headset is the mic mute/volume up/down button is very conveniently located on the left ear cup in the back.Would definitely purchase again!

360 degree hearing seems to work pretty well. Good bang for your buck. Nice solid design. Make sure you adjust headset correctly for your ears/head or it will hurt your ears/head after a few hours.

PRO- Best Sounding Headset ever made *personal opinion.- Light weight & comfortable.- You don't have to eat the mic for people to hear you.- Best designed and location for the controls for volume, mic, and surround sound.- Well built solid construction and thick cord.CONS- Plantronics has not created a internal sound card for the computer yet.I have always been a fan of plantronics. Like most people i like to try different things so a few months back i purchased the Sound Blaster Sigma - $90 headset i got on sale for $50-, after a month the mic stopped working after 5 weeks the one ear cup stopped working. Customer service was willing to replace them, but I decided not to risk it. So I went back to Plantronics and got the 780's. WOW, simply WOW, they are the best sounding headphones i have ever put on my head, including Bose.

Works for my PS3, however need to understand PS3 does not allow Audio/Mic Input via USB port. My TV has Audio out 3mm plug, so i put Audio plug on TV and Mic input to PS3 with USB adapter. comfortable for extended usage 3+ hours no problem, owned now for 1 year...

I've had many headsets in my day from the Radio Shack $10 special to the nicest Sennheisers. The GameCom 780 is like, "Psh, look at all you posers trying to make headsets and overcharging for cosmetic crap." The quality of sound and construction is unbelievable for such an affordably priced headset. Wish I would have found this sooner so I wouldn't have to buy a new headset every year because they break or just stop working.Can't recommend more.

I chose these headphone because my girlfriend wanted soemthing with great sound but one that wasn't too stiff or pushed in on her ears. This one has a soft ear cup and a soft head peice and sits comfortably on your head. The sound is very good and the quality of noise that comes through the mic is clear and crisp.

I performed a search for wireless headsets with microphone. This unit came up as a result in that search. After reading some reviews, I ordered the headset, only to find that it is, in fact, hardwired (USB). So, for quality, I give this headset 5 stars on sound. I haven't gotten to use the microphone much up to now, so I can't yet comment on its performance. I was just disappointed that the headset was wired. I realize this is mostly my fault because I didn't really look at the picture, which clearly shows the wire, but I naively thought I would get what I searched for and nothing else.

Pros:-Sounds amazing.-Comfortable and lighter than my old headset-Fits amazing (people who say it's too tight must have a very large head).-Plugged it in and started talking right away.-Easy to use sound interface.-I was playing Battlefield 3 and I could hear people walking behind me to the left perfectly. The directional surround sound is awesome.Cons:-The USB cord is very short. I have the ports behind my computer and I barely have a foot left of extra cord.-For some reason, the global sound on my computer is at 5%. If I turn it any louder, the headphones are WAY too loud. I think it may be a software problem.-The volume controls adjust the system sounds, which can get a tad annoying. Plus they are on the back of the left headphone which is awkward.-Not really a con for male users, but the velvet material on the headband and ear pieces does tend to mess up your hair.Conclusion: All in all this is a great headset for any gamer. The surround sound can give you a great advantage for pin-pointing where people are. Definitely recommending it.

The very first time I bought these headphones was about a year ago, off the Walmart website. I was just looking for headphones that would cover my ears! These were on sale at the time, and thus the cheapest ones. So, I got them with little hopes they would be any good.I have a very small head considering I'm a under 5 foot teenaged girl that's a normal size. They cover my ears, and fit TIGHTLY on my head at first. I constantly had to take them off to keep blood flowing to my ears. But my friends in Skype calls all commented that I sounded much neater. A bit tinny, but not bad. My recordings of my voice was a lot smoother, and I couldn't hear back ground noise in the recording like I normally do.I kept using the headphones for quite a bit. Became protective of them as well! If friends came over to listen to music, they had to use the itchy and always tight skull candy head phones. The 'earmuffs' pretty much morphed to fit my head, and they fit great~! Still kinda do...I recently stepped on my headphones, and the thick plastic couldn't handle my sleepy weight, and thus snapped right in half. The padding on top keeps it together, but I just knew it was time for a new one! I looked around for a bit and soon discovered them on this site, even cheaper then what I paid Walmart for!Cant picture myself using any different head phones.

was looking for a new headset for gaming, but also for blasting my favorite dubstep music, which requires REALLY heavy bass.excellent headset- honestly, the quality of the sound should demand a MUCH higher retail price. i wasnt expecting it to be this good. all the reviews above or below me are true. nothing beats dubstep on these headphones :)BUY THIS HEADSET.

These headphones are a nice buy for the price. The sound is nice and robust, and the headphones are loud enough that you can hear some bass, but don't allow you to go too too loud and blow the woofers. A decent mid-range headset for the price and pretty good for gaming.

I have gone through many headsets in my CPU gaming days, and this is the best headset I have come across, and for about $20 (Amazon has it on sale right now), who can beat that? Not only is it made really well, but the chord doesn't twist up like the Fatal1ty headset I had (which I went through 2 of in one year due to the mic not working).The sound is so loud that I usually only use half the volume; and I do have the advanced settings on for the headset (in control panel>sound>headset>properties>enhancement). I can't use the Bass Boost with Skyrim, though, because it just picks up the bass in the music.The comfort is absolutely amazing. I have always had issues with several of my gaming headsets hurting the tops of my ears during long gaming sessions. Since Plantronics features a box-shaped headset, it goes around my ear comfortably and I can game however long I want.I'm not sure how others can give this headset a bad review. It doesn't put too much pressure on your head at all, has plenty of cushioning, an amazing make and awesome sound. What more could you ask for?I wish I had known about Plantronics before and bought them. It would have saved me a lot of time searching for a good gaming headset.

I do not like the feel of it on my ears since its got like a cotton fabric on it and after long time of using your ear feels hot... ones you get used to them it bothers less. If you have a big head this may not be for you since they do not stretch much. Sound is good.

I bought these headphones one day after a particularly awful experience at Best Buy trying to trade in my extended warranty for the umpteenth time and encountering some of the worst customer service and policy use I've ever witnessed. I was actually told I was buying a USB headset from someone who claimed to have looked it up when, in fact, I was not. It was wasted money and time.So I came home and looked on Amazon to see if I could find something better and so I did. I even price-checked this set against other places online and when you factor in the free shipping it really is the best deal for them. Thirty dollars for a headset that is not only USB but it doesn't squish my head!Maybe I have a big head. Maybe my ears stick out too far. I wouldn't think so, normally, but I seem to have an issue many different designs of headphones that the inside ridges of my ears get rubbed funny or pushed towards my head and that results, at the very least, in a gradually increasing discomfort and, at worst, immediate pain that worsens over time. Even the soft cushioned ones have a tendency to squeeze too tight and I have a delicate jaw that doesn't react well to being caught in a clamp.Ideally, I would prefer a pair of headphones that are light enough to wear for several hours at a time padded in fabric (anyone who spends long amounts of time chatting online knows that your ears get sweaty and plastic or leather padding just gets funky after a short while) and enclose the ear without squeezing the head, have in-line volume control and a cord long enough to lean back in my chair a little or stand up and grab something from a high shelf without taking them off. I would like an adjustable, noise-canceling microphone that is unnoticeable when it's tilted up (or "holstered", as I like to call it) and a little button on it to call a manservant to freshen my lemonade with exactly four perfect cubes of ice.This headset does not enclose the ears but the sound is really quite good so I don't need them to. They're padded with mesh (so they don't get too warm) and very comfortable, have in-line volume and mute and a cord that's so long I actually end up bundling it up a little so my chair doesn't roll over it, and still have room to move around. This would be ideal if I wanted to sit somewhere else while talking on my computer and, someday, I just might.It also does not have a button to call a manservant, nor does a manservant come included, but I suppose it's just as well; that model would cost way more.It does have this handy-dandy collapsible feature that seems very unstable at first but can take quite a beating despite appearances and actually contributes to the comfort of the device (watch the hinges around your hair, though). Although I don't use a laptop, the space-saving design is still appreciated because it lets me store them in my desk drawer when not in use, even when they're still plugged in. Headphones are difficult to store neatly and these are designed to do just that.I'm very hard on a pair of headphones. I work and play at this machine so I use them for everything I do, from listening to music and watching video to using voice chat programs and games (on Windows XP Media Center) such as Second Life, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, Steam Community chat, Skype and Yahoo, and filming program tutorials. The microphone quality is fantastic. Nobody complains of shrill or disturbing sounds (unless I make them), and believe me when I say that the people I talk to would most certainly complain if some innocent plastic bag rustling in the background became shrill to their ears. That has happened with other headsets, though usually those that only offer copper plugs and are not USB.That's the other thing about them. They have USB and copper plug connections (and the USB connection is compatible with all the other Plantronics USB connections of this kind, too) so if I did take them somewhere, I'd be covered no matter what I'd need to plug them into.These headphones lasted a really long time, too. I bought my first pair in September and even after accidentally splitting the rubber on the cord (not advised) in a few places, they still managed to hold out eight months and that's better than even my most expensive pair of headphones ever ($110, six months). I am not nice to my headphones, as hard as I might try. They get dropped, kicked, chewed on (by the cat, not me), squished between cushions, sat on, and loud music pushed through the speakers at top volume for long periods of time. Occasionally, they even get a little damp when I accidentally duck my microphone into my icy fresh lemonade. This set keeps going. In the end, the sound in the left ear gave out and that's how most of them finally go. One of the best bangs for your buck!Don't expect Sennheiser or AKG top of the line sound quality, but expect very good and crisp sound quality specially on the mids and highs. Doesn't seem specially bassy.The Mic is just amazing, I've never used it in front of my mouth because it picks my voice almost at rest position. used it on Skype, Ventrilo and Team Speak with comments on how good an clear my voice is.

I use these all the time for my gaming and have really enjoyed the 7.1 surround sound feature of these headsets. They really let me feel immersed in my gaming sessions without bothering my wife and kids like my 5.1 surround setup did. These seem to be a great bang for the buck set of gaming headphones - my wife even likes using them when watching her movie trailers because the sound is so immersive.

I'll admit - I've been stuck in the dark ages. When it came to computer audio, I always *needed* to use a soundcard and the tangled mess of cords. After my last overpriced headset failed, I swallowed my pride and tried a usb headset. I'm not a hardcore audiophile, and I can't tell the difference. Great for gaming, clarity of sound & speech, surround, and a decent build quality!
