I've been using this headset for about 3 months now and all I can say is they are the best headsets I've owned, they are SUPER durable (sat on them 5 or 6 times without a crack or anything), and the sound is unmatched. Beats by Dre? Move over, the big boy is in town. USB powered gives it the extra boost you may be looking for in a headset.

The cloth on the ear cups makes it so its comfortable, without letting your ears get hot. The sound is crisp, not too much bass, which is perfect for gaming (hence gaming headset). The mic is very clear, and sends great quality tone over the internet. The chord is long, with a usb connection at the end, which is useful so now you don't have to plug in a bunch of jacks for the 7.1 surround sound, now all you do is install the software that comes on the cd, and you're good to go! Overall, fantastic headset, 10/10.

I have owned many different 5.1 headsets and have over 5 years of daily use with them. Turtle Beach originals were extremely durable and lasted forever. I thought I'd replace them with the new turtle beach best, the Z6A1's. They sucked. They actually did sound better, but broke.... twice... in the same place. I do NOT abuse my headphones. I gave up on turtle beach and went to these. I wish I would have earlier. They sound amazing compared to both sets of "beaches" and the usb makes it more simple to connect. The only down side is there is very little tweaking in the software. It's volume up.... volume down... that's it. I'd still take these any day of the week and twice on sunday over the "beach" headphones.

Needed a gaming pair of headphones for the 15 year old and these were the ones he wanted to Christmas. The price was right and they are great. They are tight enough to cancel much of the background noise of the house (you don't want to cancel it all - safety, ya know) and the microphone is balanced enough where a lot of the background noise doesn't make it out to his gaming peeps.

I have a Xonar DX sound card set up with a Logitech Z906 and it sounds wonderful - especially for watching movies and playing BF3. I was looking for a headphone that has surround sound to use at night so I won't bother my roommate and neighbors. I was really excited when I read the reviews regarding the Gamecom 780 so I made the purchase. This is what I've learned.It's a USB headphone so I couldn't use it with the Xonar DX. The headphone uses its own software to create the surround sound. This defeated the purpose of pairing Xonar DX with a headphone. I played "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" and wasn't impressed at all comparing to my Z906 set up. I played BF3 and wasn't impressed either. I threw a grenade and turned around and it didn't sound anything like the surround sound I had set up. All the gun fires and explosions don't sound anything like my actual Z906 set up either. I'm considering giving Audio Technica ATH-M50 a try. With the Dolby Headphone capability in the Xonar DX, I hope to get better results. At least this is what I've been reading.As far as the Gamecom 780 headset itself goes, it isn't a bad one, but it isn't a great one either.

Fantastic headset. It's inexpensive but takes a beating. This is my 3rd pair of these exact same headphones in the last 8 or so years. It lasts forever as long as you don't have kittens or puppies or a 3 year old like i do haha. They have great sound and great noise cancellation. The microphone quality is fantastic, especially for something as inexpensive as these are. I would recommend these to anyone that is a gamer or does a lot of voice chatting online. I know of at least 10 of my friends on the internet that have bought these from my recommendation :)

Got these for my boyfriend for christmas and he said it was best gift he got (better than nice poker chips!).He says these headphones make the sounds on his PC games so real that is scared him when a monster jumps out, ha!His buddies came over for gaming night last week and all had to try them out after hearing him go on and on bragging about them.BUY THESE! I had a smaller headset that went on the ear. After a 8 - 10 hour workday, my ears were throbbing red and painfully sore. With this headset, I can go the same shift and not feel any pain on my ear. They may feel a little on the heavy side, but if you adjust the head phone cups just right and stretch them, you will not have any problems.Quality and sound, words cannot explain. Its so clear and loud, the headset holds in the sound. When I am on a call or listening to music, I do not hear nothing else, but what's coming in through the headset.

I struggled with buying this. It has some very mixed reviews and all my friends were telling me to get a Turtle beach headset instead. Well the price on this looked a hell of alot better than the turtles so I figured I would give it a try. The ear space is a bit small but my ears fit quite comfortably in it and the sound is amazing. My online gamming community tells me I sound better than the guys using the more expensive headsets!

The corddx allows me to move around in my chair, lean back and not pull the plug or, worse, pull the headset off my head. My only complaint would be that the little symbols on each plug designating which is for microphone and which is for headphone need to be larger, or a different color than the plug molding or something, so they would be easier to see.

I purchased these 5 months ago. Recently, I went to place the headphones on my head like normal and the plastic snapped, right above the right headphone. Needless to say, they are now useless since there is not enough flex and pressure to keep the headphones on my head. Now I am stuck trying to get a refund or replacement from the manufacturer and getting a little bit of a run around. My $15 backup set is more durable and I have had it for 3 years. Buyer beware.

Everything about them is just great. The only issue (If you can even call it that) is that it is not very noise canceling to outside noise. Since that's the case you are forced to turn the volume up to listen to the epicness that is this headset. The dolby is really great. Many people complain about not having an equalizer but IMO it is not needed.

This was my first pair of full size headphones that I ever bought for myself. Needless to say, it was after a lot of searching and reading reviews that I finally settled on this product. When it arrived, I was ecstatic! Great sound (as a first timer who really hasn't tried other brands), good looks, sturdy construction. The addition of the volume controls and Dolby 7.1 seemed to be icing on the cake. Unfortunately, the dream was short lived. Within a couple of hours, use of this headset caused my ears to ache quite badly. The weight of the headphones doesn't help either. When you factor in the amount of discomfort experienced with or without glasses, its not worth it! I have decided to return this product.Pros: Great sound, good looks, sturdy construction, nice volume controls, Dolby, Mic boom is sturdy and doesn't flop overCons: Heavy, tight fit, cause great discomfort within a couple of hoursRecommendation: Don't buy it unless you can handle it!

Works perfectly, is very comfortable and sounds incredible; very pleased with this purchase. The 7.1 surround sound is wonderful for gaming, and the microphone works well with Skype and all other voice-chat programs that I've used. The positioning of the volume button on the headset is a little frustrating at first, because when putting them on and taking them off it's easy to turn it either way down or way up, but I've gotten used to it. I would definitely recommend this product.

I know it is hard to read long reviews,so here are my bullet points:- Very clear and high quality sound especially when the Dolby mode is on;- They are pretty comfortable to ware on;- The microphone produces high quality voice reproduction on the other end. People hear me loud and clear. It folds out of the way if you don't need it;- They have volume controls as well as mute button;- The Dolby can be turned on/off using either the button (when the supplied software us not installed), or using an on-screen controls.- They look pretty cool with shiny plastic and orange wires and lining.

When I recieved the headphones, it was AMAZING, and well worth the $54 dollars I payed for. And yes, I unpackaged it with care. But the next day when I was going to use it, it did not work at all. I could not see the icon in my icons box, and tried for two hours everything I could think of and see, to try to fix whatever problem there was. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software multiple times, with restarting my computer following that. I have Windows 7, and tried it on another Windows 7 computer, and both did not work. I also recall that when i first recieved the headphones and plugged them in, the 7.1 surround button glowed blue; but there is no glow anymore.

I bought 3 of these, one for myself, one for my daughter and one for my girlfriend, back when we all played WoW. Now, 4 years later, I use it primarily just as a headset since I don't play MMOs anymore.Overall it's a nice product. Good audio quality, good mic quality and sensitivity and works like a champ, overall.That said, my daughter's broken pretty soon after I got it (but then she never was very "delicate" with electronics). The ear piece cover on mine came off (the plastic, not just the padding) after about a year and I had to use a rubber band to keep it on. It still works, though. Not sure about the g/f's since she isn't a g/f anymore, so I don't really care. :)

You can find it in the product description, but not in the summary. Headset works great on a Mac, but not for surround sound. It's not supported. I wish I had read that before I ordered. Now I have some relatively expensive stereo headphones for the Mac. I would NOT buy again for the Mac. Amazon should really put this disclaimer in the summary.

This is an excellent product for me I use it for gaming and now listening to music since I figured out just to click the dolby feature and I got surround sound from my laptop some how. May hurt ears after 5 hours of wearing would recommend taking a break. Mic does pic up back ground noise.

Pros: 7.1 surround sound headset at affordable price. For those who sweats easily, the materials of the earpad is very comfortable and will not break into pieces, which is quite common in cheap headsets.Cons: Wearing it for prolonged time can cause the ear to be uncomfortable at times. Wondering if it is because of my big ears. Besides, it would be better if the driver can be installed automatically when the headset is plugged in for the first time, rather than installing from a CD before plugging it in.

Well?, I have been through many many many sets of headphones, earplugs and the like. I have tried just about every style out there. For the money, these headphones win the race. They are compact, comfortable and have whopping sound! I have 4 sets in the studio and I use them every day. The oldest set I use is pretty beat up, the mic has been ripped off as well as stepped on and rolled over by chairs. They continue to work flawlessly ( I did have to glue a couple spot due to my own neglect) use what you want to use for your headphones. I will continue to use these. The back of the head/over the ear design , to me, is the ticket! Great great product.! (just dont drive over em)

Sound was pretty good. Though I have to admit that it didn't fit comfortably on my head. Maybe it takes some getting used to. I loved the fact that it's USB but the length of the cord was quite an issue. I thought it was way too short. I would need to buy some kind of extension to fix that problem. I found it awkward at first with the controls on one of the earpieces. I would stick with my SteelSeries Siberia V2. Would I suggest using this one, yes. Are there better out there, ofcourse. But for a headset that is inexpensive this is a great item for the cost conscious.

The Plantronics GameCom 780 USB Surround Sound Stereo PC Gamming Headset is another great Headset from Plantronis. Its made of a thick strong plastic, and it has large ear cups. The 7.1 surround sound output is of great quality, and so is 5.1 and stereo sound output. The ear cups and the headband has a soft cloth covered padding which makes them very comfortable to ware even for long periods of time. The Microphone recordings comes out very clear and clean. The twisting motion of the ear cups does help for ease of storage. The only draw back that I can see with this unit is, the supplied Software. The Windows Version of the software simply does not give enough optional control over the unit, and there is no 7.1 and 5.1 surround sound software support for MAC. Other than that this is a great buy for the price. I am giving it Five Stars.

I have another Plantronics headset that lasted 5 years despite me dropping it every day multiple times (rough on my equipment)So when it finally called it quits I knew i would be getting another Plantronics. After some searching I came across this one.It is definately sturdy and feels very solid. The wires are insulated very well and have very nice meal connectors.It is extremely comfortable, the ear pieces are extremely comfortable and made of a fabric material. This was important to me because leather ones get really hot an uncomfortable, but these are perfect.I suspect this headset will last at least 5 years and it was a good buy.

For what ever reason my DVD drive decided to stop working. and I dont have any movies that have 5.1 surround sound. but for music and games these are super comfy I have them on all the time, even when not watching a movie or listening to music I have them on they are light and you forget that you are wearing them.

This company makes a wireless set. i should have gotten that one because the cord gets in the way.Other wise this is the best gamer headphones i have used. they fit completely around the ears and do not give me a head. I used these often and as a woman i have a rather small head and i was surprised that they phones adjusted to my child sized cranium. (21" in circumference) and my boyfriend has a rather large head and he uses these daily and they fit great.

I cannot believe how good these sound! Put disk in pc, run setup.exe, restart, mind blown. These sound better than any set of headphones i've had. I have been using them for about 5 hours straight now and I feel no fatigue. I'm comfortable and could wear them another 5 hours before writing another review on how good these are. IF YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A HEADSET buy these. You will not regret it. At this price point I expected nothing from these, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Buy these and review them. They are 5 stars for a reason!....Enjoy!

I'm a professional Gamer. Over the years I must purchase headsets (always something wrong), keyboards (Faded keys are nice) and mice (diablo II broke two) as I inevitably wear them out.At first, the Plantronics series 367 looked too good to be true. The sound wasn't great and the microphone was only a step up from shouting into the wind but hey, at least it wasn't a behind-the-head-model.So far, there has never been a product that looked so promising and yet was so wholly awful as the Plantronics 367 series "gaming Headset". The Plantronics "Face Clamp 500" managed to induce a series of headaches, but I, the hard core gamer ignored said terrible maladies and set out to game regardless of discomfort. In time, the wires magically managed to arrange themselves into a series of intricate knots unsolvable by the Great Houdini. For no reason. The headset was stored correctly away from the computer, cord neatly arranged to prevent knotting but hey, the Plantronics 367 is apparently made out of Memory wire that enjoys attempting to re-create a slinky while you are away from the PC. And guess what? Attempting to untangle the cords results in the cheap plastic coating splitting repeatedly and bearing the sensitive innards of the cord to the world. After that, the 367 shorts out and breaks.But, The adventures are not OVER! No no. You try to contact Plantronics support, which is as easy as painting a fart green or building a ladder to the moon. And they will ship you a factory rebuild. I asked around on the internet's 'Dork Council' of fellow gamers and guess what? They will ship you a factory REJECT that will do precisely the same thing. Only faster and with more Gusto! Getting a refund out of Plantronics is about as easy as boxing a glacier.Overall, a LOUSY product.-Tex-of the Black Pants Legion

I bought this headset because it looked like a sturdy headset and had great reviews. Within a week the first headset I purchased began making popping/cracking sounds. I returned it to Amazon and in a couple of days they had replaced the product. The first night the second pair had the exact same problem. Save yourself the hassle, these headphones are garbage.

I have been using this headset for a few weeks now, and it works great for audio! The downside is using the microphone is not so great. It pics up a ton of static, and makes it hard for people to listen to me through it. I use Ventrilo and Skype, and they both have a lot of static. It picks up a ton of feedback. I have been experimenting with it, and it seems to have better quality when I don't have my laptop cooling fans on, but that is only doable for a short while, as I use it for video games, and it will overheat. Even with the fans unplugged, the feedback is still there, just not as loud. Obviously the wire they use doesn't have a very good shield against noise from other wires/electronics. If you are rarely using the mic, I would recommend this, but if you use it daily, like I do, I would suggest spending a little more money on a quality product. The audio is great, as I said, but the microphone is pretty terrible. Hopefully this has helped someone to make a wise decision in the purchasing of this headset!

Only the cons:can be uncomfortable after 30 mins or moreThe drivers are iffy, at there web site there just listed as "drivers", no info if they are updated drivers, so its hard to say if they do fixes? (probably not)The task bar pop up for this allows you to switch from gaming/movie mode to music mode, but this apparently does nothing ( I think it was to switch from 5.1 to 7.1 but that is not the case here)The 7.1 sound has to be reset every time you reboot or go in or out of sleep mode via the default sound control panel. or you will be stuck in 5.1 which doesn't sound as good as 7.15.1 sound is flat, basically sounds like stereo 2.0, see the sound control panel commentmade of cheap plastic, ear cushions take up allot of lint.if you can get over these cons then these are a good buy for budget headphones, maybe a good choice for your first pair of gaming phones or a good backup pair.I will probably be shopping for something a little more comfortable with more solid software and driver support.
