I purchased two of these units in December. This model seems to randomly stop routing traffic to the internet on random wireless attached computers (local network is fine). Three months later and numerous emails and phone calls to Netgear they sent me a replacement; SAME issues with the new model! Not all Netgear products are bad, this one is. Don't ever try to work with Netgear support, just not worth the stress.

Can't beat the price and it works great. I do PC troubleshooting and it's nice to have an alternate way to connect when the users wireless nic fails or is misconfigured. Nice and small. Very durable.

Found this Netgear USB adapter and ordered it. Wow, it is so easy to install and the wireless signal is so stronge. It connected at 54 Mbps most the time. I ordered one after another and have three already. Try it with Windows Vista Home Premium, just in a second it found the driver from my hard drive and connected in few seconds. Very impressive for this adapter.

I purchased 3 of these devices to set up a wireless network at one of my customers. I have been setting up networks for six years and I have set up many wired and wireless networks. The basic marketing material sound great, like it will work very well. However, the user documentation is woefully inadequate except for the reference guide which you must download from Netgear web site. Once you have the guide, you will find out how to enable WEP encryption or change the IP address on the unit. It all sounds easy, except for one thing, it doesn't work! The software can find the units on the powerline network but is incredibly flaky in connecting to those units. For example, you can ping the device a few times but then it doesn't ping for 5 minutes or so, then it does. If you make changes using the software, changing the units IP address for example, then click on apply, often that is the time it cannot connect. Then you can't ping the old address or the new one. So, you have to press the reset button and start over. The building that I set this network up in was built in the last 5 years, so the electrical wiring is up to code and not creating the problem.The basic Netgear setup assumes that you don't have more than one device (they all default to the same IP address and it's very time consuming to change the address because the connection is so flaky!)and you don't care about enabling any encryption. Yeah, that's great if you want to give your neighbors wireless access to your computer and your web connection. I don't think most people would want to do that. I worked with 3 units and a wireless bridge device (the required Netgear XE102) for about 5 hours and could get it to work but only on an unacceptably intermittent basis. I would strongly recommend that you not buy this product since it will only create a lot of frustration and suck up lots of your time and then, not work consistently. Or you could just use it without any encryption or security. Uh, wait a minute, you probably shouldn't do that!

This adapter did nothing but make my windows xp system run like crap. BSOD, registry problems, computer froze repeatedly. And yes I did install the drivers correctly. Once this card was installed it acted virus like. I couldn't even load any google sites, though every other site was fine. Once the card was removed and replaced with a simular product from another manufacturer my computer ran fine. DO NOT BUY>>>PIECE OF CRAP.

Don't buy this prodcut. It blue screens PC daily. The screen references the netgear drivers. Even though lots of people have this problem no fix from Netgear. That is crappy support. Don't fall for thier rebate mumbo jumbo you get what you pay for. Drop the Netgear box and run as fast away as possible!

I had this thing for 2 months and got constantly bad signal from it. It would go all the way down to 2mbps. I did not pay for a crappy b signal. I paid for a good g signal. What was wrong you ask. I had the netgear plugged directly into the back of my computer. When I used the provided usb extension cable voila I have had nothing but 54mbps since. Keep this adapter away from your computer otherwise your signal will be extremely terrible.

I want to preface this review by stating that I started out as a big Netgear fan. I love the design - their products have a great footprint. Believe it or not, their older products (802.11b router and usb adapter) work great!! But since the introduction of Super-G and Pre-N, their products are terrible and their technical support has gone downhill as well. I have no idea what is driving these terrible business decisions but the products just don't work!! I have been in I.T. for 15 years and I have tried all types of wireless products. This Netgear 240 drops connections ever few minutes. Tech support is impossible to get and when you do get them, the answers are generic. Bottom line is that I have never got this product to work consistently. I returned and bought a Belkin Pre-N (a few dollars more) and it works beautifully and the admin config page is easy to understand. Even as a professional the Belkin makes sense. Save yourself grey hairs and high blood pressure and get a Belkin or DLink and forget about Netgear - great to look at but that is about it.

This adapter is for replacement of my previous belkin 54g wireless adapter. I am still using my old belkin 54g router, and I noticed the great difference in signal strength and stable connection once this adapter was installed.I also tried Netgear WG111T 108g adapter. In the corner where the signal and connection was poor with belkin 54g adapter, WG111T 108g could picked the signal easily with no drop off, but connection speed is mediocre. While in the same spot with the same router, this rangemax 240 WPNT511 showes the signal strength in excerlence and the connection speed is easily hit 54Mbps (limited by my 54g belkin router) and there is no drop off at all. Great!Comparing the price, this $20($40-$30rebate+$10Tax&shipping)Netgear Rangemax 240 adapter rom Compusa is superb.

Like so many others I found that the unit fails quickly. The original failed after 4 months. The replacement lasted only long enough to get beyond the warranty period. I then bought a refurbished unit and it lasted 16 months. The original companion XE102 is still working, so I am going to replace the WGX102 wth a second XE102. I will have to connect the remote computer to it with a cable, but since it can be moved to any outlet, it is still pretty flexible. I hope I have found a way around the unreliable WGX102.

This is a horrible product, it was fine at first just for surfing the web, but when you try I tried to play World of Warcraft or download a huge file, it would just stop working. It overheats and fails!! 20 bux down the drain!!

I bought this unit, Netgear WGX102, along with the Netgear XE102 Powerline Ethernet Adapter for my wireless network and the combination work great. I have excellent signal through out the house. The complain I have is the documentation is really bad but once you figure it out it works great. The unit come with default address of 192.168.0.101 and my Netgear wireless router was set at 192.168.11.1. To get this to work I connect the Netgear XE102 to my wireless router. Set my computer to a fixed IP of 192.168.0.1 to allow me to connect to the Netgear XGX102. Once connected I change the configuration of the WGX102 to set its IP to 192.168.11.2 and set a new SSID. After that I just change my computer back to "Optain IP address Automatically" and configure my computer's wireless network to use the SSID of the Netgear XE102. Now it's working great with excellent signal strength and so far I haven't have any drop connection or interferences from my neighbors.

So far I am a big fan of this router. I am struggling with how to best expand my network (adding range repeaters/boosters and a Gigabit wired infrastructure) since I am using this WPNT834 as the core of my network, but I'm sure time will open up my options.Just recently I switched from using Linksys as my primary and favored manufacturer for my SOHO networks (home and office/small warehouse). They seem to have a number of products that meet my need which is the area between low end items that aren't as robust or feature heavy as I require and want and the $1k+ products that are overboard for my purposes. It's great to find a company that has such a range of products that fit into my sweet spot.More details on my experience with this particular router over time. It set-up easily and seems to be operating with no hitches thus far. If you want the latest and greatest and need speed over your wireless network, you would be foolish not to check this out as an option.My only negative comment is that this router, along with any other is suseptible to interference and I would suggest that a good place to start to optimize your wireless network is to take a look around your home and to eliminate or strategically place any item likely to cause interference - cordless phones, baby monitors, wireless speakers and on and on and on.

Netgear is absolutely the WORST tech support/customer service I have ever had the misery of encountering. It doesn't exist. So if you think you'll ever need any tech support or customer service, don't buy this product!

Don't get this card if you are buying it for its "range" capabilities. I paired this with it's rangemax router and it wouldnt even pick up the network. Both my centrino chipset AND ancient d-link 802.11b usb adapter pick up that same network.The router is decent but I am VERY disappointed with the failure to live up the claims on the box. 3.5 year old hardware shouldnt be able to beat the paired "rangemax" combo.The router is decent. Although the router gets "weak" signal according to the d-link utility, it is very quick with internet whereas other networks with the same signal strength are not as good. I can't really recommend a good range-specific combo for high data rates, I can just tell you to stay away from this.PS I tried a linksys range extender and it couldn't pick the network up either. I would skip that solution too.

I had tried several other ways to use my new wireless laptop in other parts of my house and I kept losing the signal strength and being knocked offline. In desperation and after reading the other reviews I opted to spend the $$ and purchase this. It is wonderful !! Just plugged it into my router and it was a go!. I did purchase a longer cable so I could put it on the other side of the room away from my cluttered desk. It truly delivers as promised. I can work and play games in the other part of my house while keeping my husband company as he watches football.

This router is by far the best one that I've had. I've seen poor reviews on this post and they seem to be from people that do not know what they are doing. This router is easy to set-up and I will recommend to install the CD contents, follow the easy installation set-up and you will be ok. Things to consider will be what kind of security option you have on your wireless cards, more likely you will have WPA encryption so you will be ok, as long as your key matches on both ends. The problem people is having with disrupted connections is due sometimes to people "playing" with their IP settings. If you know what you are doing with static IP's and reservations then do so, you will have no problems, id you don't, DON'T TOUCH IT, in short don't fix what ain't broken! All in all this router is excellent, great security with WPA, access control by MAC address and the option not to display your SSID. My setup includes 1 DNS/DHCP server, 1 E-mail server, 3 wired stations, 2 laptops with wireless access cards, and VOIP through Vonage. I just added a storage device for my movies and music and can stream it through my network with no loss in quality and great range. Hope this was helpful. (Tip: Buy the Pre-N cards for greater speed and access, I have combined a, b, g and Pre-N, so far I've seen improvements in a, b & g and abismal difference with the Pre-N cards...).

I purchased a WGX102 about 18 months ago. The first unit I purchased failed after a few months. NetGear replaced it, because it was under warranty. The replacement unit worked nicely for about 15 months, then it failed too, with pretty much the same symptoms. The unit only has a one year warranty, so NetGear told me I would have to buy another. I'm not going to do that, because the units don't seem to last, and I don't want to have to buy another one every 18 months or so.I've seen a number of reviews on various sites by other customers who have had the same experience. Be warned.

My son got this adapter with his new computer several months ago because we used a RangeMax 824 router at home. It works GREAT with the router, and my other son, who uses a generic USB wireless adapter says that speed on the RangeMax adapter is much faster, and the signal is considerably more reliable. This adapter is designed to work with Netgear's RangeMax routers, so I can't recommend it if you don't have one due to the higher cost (that cost is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5).

The Netgear Rangemax 240 shouldn't have made this product release at all. According to the reviews online, it had received high ratings compared to other wireless routers unless I am mistaken. Despite these reviews, my experience with the netgear happened to be otherwise. The connection was on and off. The signals on the wireless router indicated that the system was encountering numerous problems during that time and unable to perform its duties. It kept re-checking itself. If there was a connection, it would only last for three minutes to be exact. The desktop would not work when the laptop was in use during the three minutes. I am 100 percent sure that this shouldn't be the case. The wireless router should work together efficiently with the laptop and the desktop together.I would high suggest that you do not buy the netgear wireless router and go for another product.

As a network admin, I am usually more apt to buy Cisco (Linksys) items for the quality of product. I have had Netgear routers in the past and been unimpressed with their range and stability.Now that I have a new house and others who share my bandwidth, I needed to find a router that offered some security and range improvement over my year old Linksys Wireless G.So I purchased this router for $79 figuring that I'd give it a shot. I have been well pleased with it!Firstly, its range is a lot better than my Linksys (my Linksys also had the added range antenae's). My whole house has strong coverage so I don't need the access points anymore!The built in parental controls are nice. None of these are perfect, but so far the WGT624SC has done a great job. This router includes a security package of a Firewall, Antivirus and antispyware from Trend Micro that's free for a while. I am not using it as I only have a couple Windows boxes that are running Sophos security software. In my house though, are Macs, Linux, and Windows machines that all happily use this router. The router based controls are great because you can control the content that your kids are getting without worrying about them figuring out how to uninstall software on their comps.Additionally, your kids friends who bring over their computers to play games etc all get the same parental controls.I am quite pleased with this little router and would recommend it to anyone with a family or anyone who shares their Internet connection.

I'd give it zero stars if I could. Netgear routers in general have issues with the QoS capabilities of new wireless NIC's. However, Netgear support and their engineering have failed to keep up and continue to issue buggy router firmware.If you use this router and Centrino 3945ABG you will have nothing but headaches. Rebooting of the router, constant dropped connections, etc. Don't bother with Netgear support as they can't seem to admit there's an issue saying you're the only one that has the issue. Just do a search for "WPNT834 3945ABG" and you'll see the problems.

I stopped using Netgear products, and was using Linksys products to setup clients wireless networks. After reading some great reviews from tomshardware, and seeing that the Linksys SRx routers were on backorder at the time, I decided to try this router.I installed this router, and the wireless connection constantly drops. When/if it connects again, the connectrion is limited (Did no get an IP address from the router via dhcp). The router has to be unplugged from power, and turned back on. The connection is ok for like 5 minutes max, and the same crap.I trie after upgrading the firmware to latest version, and the problem still persists. Tried w/o wireless security to no avail. There's no other 2.4ghz device present, but this piece of crap router can't hold a connections.Replaced this unit with the Linksys WRT54GX4, and no problems w/ dropped connections so far.On the plus side, this router seems to get slightly better signal than the Linksys, but what good is that if you lose the connection every 5 minutes, and have to run over to the router to reboot it?This will be the last product from Netgear for me...

I read good reviews of this product in various computer magazines. But then I read the reviews here and was worried. However, you will then notice that EVERY router you read about in Amazon's review has very animated detractors. So what to do? I gave Netgear Rangemax 240 a try. I AM NOT TECHNICAL at all. Plodding along very carefully I followed the directions. It took me a slow moving hour, but I am now on line with my Mac. Also have an older Linksys wireless adapter in my Toshiba laptop--seamlessly got that to work too (took two minutes). Then on to my X-box wireless bridge: entered the WEP key (provided during installation) and no problem.Everything works fine. No complaints. I don't know how this could be easier. Which ever router you choose, hope your experience is as stress free as mine!

We LOVE having a wireless router in our home and this is the one we have been using for over a year now. The only complaint I have is that it kicks off line about one a month. Not sure if that's the routers fault or our ISP but worth mentioning.

This particular piece of hardware has worked as advertised. Little sucker runs pretty hot but that does not appear to affect its functioning. It works and has not failed me and that's all I care about. Ran it on WindowsXP.

I have had this item for several months now. It is highly unreliable. Technical support is terrible. Documentation is worse.If you plan on using any laptops that have been built in the last year, forget about it. Anything with an Intel 3945ABG card causes the router to crash. Netgear's solution to this is to remove all security from the network and turn off all features of the wireless card. This actually helps the router stay working for about 3 minutes instead of 30 seconds.I rated this product with one star because negative stars are not an option. The only thing positive that I can say about this product is that it looks nice.

WIRED Internet throughput drops consistently by about 40-60% when the wireless function is turned on.I'm using the latest firmware-2.10 something. The instant I turned the wireless antenna on, not only does wired broadband speed drop dramatically, but latency goes sky high. Using dslreports speed test as well as one from my cable company, performance goes from ~4.12mb down/508k up to around 2.1mbdown/500up with "maximum pause" times going from 100ms to 500 or more.As I scale up the wireless security settings, speed goes down and latency goes up. If I wanted to run a completely open wirless network (no security), I can see speeds of ~3.1 mb down and 500k up and pause times in the 200s. My speeds listed in the paragraph above were using 128 bit WEP. Turning on WPA put the pause times in the mid 500s and the download rate in the high 1.9mbs.My reduced performance was consistent no matter what channel I picked, etc.I guess I shouldn't be surprised. This router was 79.99 marked down to 39.99. What a terrible buy.

As many of you TiVo users know, it can be a very stressful event to try to find the right wireless adapter to connect your TiVo to a wiresless network. I, myself, had to search for quite some time and return a few adapters in order to get my TiVo wireless.This adapter worked flawlessly. Plugged it in, it found my network, and voila....wireless TiVo.This adapter will most likely work for the newer TiVo boxes. I got mine in April 2005. If you have an older version of the TiVo box, you will have to get the latest software update.This is the adpater you want for your TiVo...look no further.If you arte confused as to which adapter will work with your TiVo box, check out TiVo's website for a full list of compatible adapters.UPDATE: After a little over two months, this thing broke...just broke. I called Netgear and they asked me to install it on a Windows computer, despite the fact that I have an Apple computer and use it only for TiVo. They said they could not determine the problem with the adapter unless I had a Windows computer so they would like me to go an find a computer with Windows XP, despire the fact that I only have a MAC. MAC users beware of the customer support at Netgear. You will be shunned. I asked to talk to upper management and they agreed to replace it after the whole "not catering to all customers" speech from me.I'd like to change my product rating to ** and * for Netgear's customer service.ANOTHER UPDATE: Netgear has sent me a replacement adapter. But guess what....it's the non-tivo-compatible adapter....I give up.

Sleek design. Easy to set up -- like many other routers.Problems came when I tried to connect my two laptops, which have a built-in wireless adapter (Intel 3945ABG) and a Airlink-g card. The whole network would work for a few minites and then just freeze! Had to reset (unplug the power chord) the router to re-establish the internet connection for the attached Dell desktop computer.Tried all kinds of settings for the router and the two adapters to no avail. Happen to have a Netgear WPN111 USB adapter. Attached the WPN 111 adapter to one of the laptops, and it worked just fine!! -- Does this mean that the WPNT834 only works with Netgear adapters? If so, this Net-gear will not be reaching too far...

I'd give it zero stars if I could.This card will definitelly crash to a blue screen intermittently. Windows XP doesn't like this card at all.The 'fix' from Netgear trashed my registry. The hardware caused a total trashing of my primary hard drive (MBR), probably due to poor circut design.This has happened not once, but TWICE on two different computers!Buying this card is asking for major trouble and paying for the privilege.I would recommend running CAT 5 cable instead.STAY AWAY FROM THIS POS!

See rating of bad RangeMax 240 router and Amazon's changing horse in middle of stream. Amazon agreed to send return authorization paper work on 9-14-06 and this has not been received even after a second request. The response I received today wants me to jump through hoops to return even though 9-14-06 response did not require this. Today is 11-05-06. Bad customer service from Amazon!

This thing was a major hassle from the start. Difficult to set up (even for an experienced computer user like me). Once it was set up, it took about 5 minutes to get an IP address every time I connected to it. For the non-tech savvy, that means I would turn on my computer, connect to the network, then wait 5 minutes to be able to go online, even though I was laready fully connected to the device. That level of terrible performance is simply unacceptable.Then, about 4 months after I bought it, it up and broke.Don't waste your money on this terrible, terrible piece of equipment.

I've been using this adapter with the rangemax router for several months, never a problem. I read the other reviews, and am dumbfounded. I actually use this one when other adapters, or built in adapters do not work. This one works evey time, and the range is better then I had expected.

I've had this adapter on my son's desktop for over 6 months. I wanted an easily removable adapter, so I could remove it if internet interfered with homework. The install was fine; I always find it easiest to install updated drivers from the website rather than the install disc. they are always outdated. So I downloaded the drivers onto a jump drive on my pc, then installed them onto his pc. Attached the usb adapter and set windows zero config to run the wireless and it has worked flawlessly ever since. I did not install the Client software that came with the adapter. I use StatBar to monitor my access (freeware). I have not had issues with overheating as mentioned by others. The unit is powered up 10 hours a day. I like having the extension cable so we can aim it towards our router (2wire). I recommend it as a simple upgrade as long as you install only the drivers from the website and use Windows to configure.

The product was bad right out of the box according to two Dell Techs. I got premission from Amazon to return on 9-14-06, but still haven't gotten the necessary paper work from Amazon aws of today (11-05-06). It seems Amazon now wants to change horses in the middle of the stream and make me jump through hoops to return it. Bad customer service!

I bought this card bundled with the matching router. The router works just fine but I when I tried to use the card in an XP portable (UK Evesham) it produced a massive slowdown in the PCs performance. The CPU utilization went to 100% whenever I plugged the card in. Using SysInternals process monitor showed that 50% of the CPU was being chewed up by Hardware Interrupts, and the rest by deferred procedure calls. So something was very wrong.It may be because there were 2 wireless routers within range, one a LinkSys and the other the NetGear both oeprating on Channel 11.Whatever the reason, it was unusable.

I have to agree with most reviewers here, this product and all other Netgear products stink. The WGU624 I have has several probems:1. Many people complain that this product needs constant rebooting. This is because if your home's power network has unstable voltage, it will make the WGU624's wireless network to go down (interestingly, any computers connected to it via wired LAN will still work). So basically, whenever the dehumidifyer turned on or off, or when someone used a vacuum cleaner in the same room, or the air conditioner in the house turns on, the wireless router had to be rebooted. I had to shell out another $30 to buy an automatic voltage regulator so I could stop worrying about rebooting it.2. This thing keeps assigning conflicting IP addresses to different computers, both on the wired and wireless network. That get's pretty annoying, especially when I add a new computer or network device.3. The actual wireless range is at most half of that advertised. I have it located in the kitchen, which is right next to my backyard, and it barely covers 1/3 of the backyard. It has especially poor performance if the signal has to travel through a wall or floor/ceiling.4. It has a lot of trouble connecting to Netgear's WG111U wireless USB adapter, which is the adapter that is supposed to go with this router. The non-Netgear wireless adapter in my tablet PC works beautifully with no problems, so it is really weird that the WG111U would have problems connecting with the WGU624.Overall, I have to say I am extremely disappointed in Netgear. Not only do their products fail to deliver, but their website and support aren't any good either. I would steer clear of anything with the Netgear name on it, at least until they get their act together. I have had many issues with Linksys products in the past too, so I guess next time I try to set up a wireless network I will try either D-Link or Belkin.

Installation wizard straightforward. The LAN (one desktop, 3 laptops) works fine with almost the same data transfer rates as our wired network this kit replaced. Internet Access however is much, much slower (sometimes slower than dial up) and it regularly drops the connection -perhaps 3 to 4 times an hour. I am not a clueless IT user but I gave up with this one. We've had professional network engineers (added cost) in twice to try and correct the internet issues without success. With a 4meg internet connection and 240mbps kit (bought corresponding netgear cards too!) I had hoped for a seamless transition from wired to wireless. Given netgear's claims, I have to say I am very disappointed.

With cutting edge technology, the coverage and speed from this router is amazing. I can take my laptop across the parking lot and still get a super strong signal. My office is behind a 12 inch cement wall and this Netgear router gets around it. You will be very happy with this router it is like no other wireless signal.We use it for streaming music to a Netgear MP101 music server. With our old router, it would occassionally lose the signal but with the WPNT834, it never even hesitates and we can play music all day long without interruption.Set-up was easy, put in CD and the wizard had me go through the steps - even telling me when to plug in the cables and what order to turn everything back on. It was also easy to set-up security with WEP or WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK and specifying only my laptop and MP101 having access. The configuration browser page is easy to understand and simple to use.I also use the 4 wired ports on the back. Top speed there, of course, too.It comes with stands so it can sit upright and it looks cool, white with blue and green lights! My robot friend!

Wow, this was a find! I purchased it in July and have had no problems with it. I actually purchased it from another site "refurb" and mine is FABULOUS! I am pairing it with an old Netgear WiFi 11b system, and when I was visiting family, they had the D-Link 54g and wow a tri-level home and I had outstanding signal. So I give this a BIG THUMBS UP! I am preparing to purchase either the Next or Mimo router this evening..so wish me luck!

Have to say that I was concerned by some of the negative reviews on this site, but I went with CNET's comments and made the purchase. No problems, was up and running within 20 minutes. The set up is easy and the speed is awesome. I am using the router with a netgear wireless print server. No complaints from my end. Lastly, I have noticed no interference with our cordless phones or baby monitor - a problem we had with our old router.I did speak with customer support to get a better understanding of encryption options, they were very helpful.

Like other users have experienced, this unit is no longer functional after 18 months. The wired base is still working but the wireless range extender no longer fires up all 3 led lights. Poor product Netgear!

I purchased this product and ran home to try it out. not 5 minutes after plugging it in to my computer, my computer freezes. I restart and it says my device is malfunctioning. I manage to get it working for about 5 minutes before it craps out on me again. I try upgrading the drivers and it refuses to connect to my network. I'm a network engineer and I am well versed in what I am doing, but this card has given me nothing but trouble. I had to disable the software that came with it and use the windows wireless software to connect. This only keeps me alive for about 30 minutes before freezing. I talked to netgear support and they tell me that my processor isn't supported, which is total BS and just an attempt to get out of supporting me, they wouldn't even let me return the product. My advice: go with linksys or d-link or SMC, ANYONE but netgear.

This router exceedss all the secutiy features of other routers with enhanced security features. - Parental control - excellent, fully automatic and easily customized - Virus, Spam, and Spyware Protection for the whole network - email settings - this feature emails logs of all sites visited and any blocked pages. - Keyword blocking - Excellent true 108MPS and range - Easy Setup - although my setup did challenege the standard since I use a firewalled router/modem for DSL that was trying to assign an IP address in the same range, but Tech support was very effecient and friendly.I purchased one unit and the entire network is protected. This is the way network protection should work. I have tested products from the following manufacturers and reccommend this product over the competition because they do no offer the same richness of features, nor the complete protection this product does for the price.Linksys - WRT624DI-Link - DI624
