I have to give it one star because it made me to.I always have had Linksys, no problems except that when they go the really goI have a friend who swore by Netgear and PC World gave it an excellent rating, so I went and Bought it, junk international made on a Friday by a blind Chinese who never used a soldering gun.Cons:Signal drops continuouslyDuring a thunderstorm it quacks completelyFor reset you must go thru ALL setting stepsThe distance of signal is less than 25 feetMY MAC will not connect to it (I never had any problem with it before) I have to be in the same room for the MAC to receive the signalCustomer service is equal to what customer service?The Four Indian ladies I spoke with were not understandable and on top of that argumentative ( I have NEVERhad any argument with the Indians customer services), the Spanish line never came on lineWhen I requested a replacement unit I was told straight out "Sir your warranty has run out" this is only TWO MONTH of owing the unitIf you get a weak cable signal then the unit instead of trying to raise the signal it drops itPros:No junk has any pros

Yes Amazing!!! No doubt about it. Just load the software. Plug in the micro adapter. Sync up with router. And away you go! So simple and easy, just the way it should all be. This is the tiniest PC accessory I have ever seen or used; and it works great. I still have an aging Dell desktop PC, running XP, and when the big old internal wired internet card went out suddenly, this micro adapter solved the issue easily. Note: be sure to unplug the ethernet cable - you won't be needing it and it may interfere with this product functioning. Also note - I first plugged this into the rear of the desktop case USB port, and it lost single when I slid it back into our PC furniture cabinet. Luckily I have a strip of USB ports up high in the cabinet near the screen, where the single strength is great, even with our router being upstairs. (this product did not come with an USB extension cable, as noted by some?) Overall - A big THANKS to Netgear!

I bought this after having a bad experience with the Amped line of extenders. This repeater was a breeze to setup, even the advanced functions. There wasn't a need to take a computer and reconfigure it to do the initial setup, right out of the box all I had to do was connect my laptop to it's temporary wifi ssd and reconfigure it from there using a simple step by step setup. I really like the fast lane technology where you can have it communicate on one band to your router and one band to your devices. Doing this increased my repeat speed by 300%. I live in an apartment building and can see over 20 wifi networks from my normal operating area, using the fast lane setup where I use 2.4Ghz to connect to my router and then 5.Ghz to connect to my devices works best as the farther out you take your devices in a 2.4Ghz wifi cluster environment, the more interference you have. One thing people should realize in that the signal is being repeated. . .don't expect to get the same speed as connecting directly to your router. When connected to my router I get aprox. 60-95MBs throughput, when it is being repeated on this product I am getting at max 30MBs using fastlane which is much better than other repeaters I've used. Also the 2.4Ghz will generally get about 15-20% better range but the 5Ghz works much better in wifi dense areas.

Would definitely consider refurbished again. It was not in original packaging but otherwise could not tell it had been refurbished. No exterior scratches at all. Works perfectly so far.

This "wireless network card" may not have great range, but IF you are using a computer without a wireless card it IS the simplest plug and play solution.

It was a fine looking router, but would not hook up to the internet. I was going to return it, but it would have cost me more to return it than it did to buy it to begin with. So I went to staples and got me a new netgear router and t works just fine.

Didn't notice the power button on the back of the unit. I couldn't figure out how to turn it on at first, but once I figured it out, installation was easy. I like that it already has a password and name. It made installation even easier.

Being a regular customer of refurbished products, I bought this Netgear WNR2000 N300 Wireless Router through Dealville on Amazon at about half the price of a new product and I am certainly very pleased. The product arrived on time, the packaging was good and the product surface was without any blemish. The device itself looks pretty especially with its lights on. Being Netgear, the router was very easy to set up and it keeps up excellent wireless connection strength - always!

For 3 months I suffered with CONSTANT disconnections while using this adapter. I thought it was my router, but then I saw a cheapo, X-Brand adapter that was free after rebate. I figured I'd give it a try. Bingo! Not a single disconnection since then!Don't buy this piece of junk unless you like constant dropped connections.

I have never done a review before but I had to for this - I just bought this product today and I have to say what a piece of junk it is. What should take only 20 minutes max to do I am now on my 3rd hour to install it and it won't let me - keeps saying that it's not plugged in correctly even though I have done what the instructions have told me (I have rebooted, unplugged everything and it still won't work). The website the company gives - [...] doesn't even work. The instructions are bare minimal when it should have more details. I am not a computer expert by any means but I do know how to install programs and this just will not let me install it. I will never buy anything from this company again and it will be going back to the store where I bought it from and I will be informing them what a piece of junk it is. This is a zero star rating in my book - please don't waste your money on this piece of junk.

I am very happy with this modem and it works great, however, beware, it comes without an installation disk or a manual installation instruction. They refer you to an online instruction that does not tell you how to program a security code to your network. When you call customer service, they want to charge you extra in order to walk youn through that information. I finally figured it out only own.

i got this router to go to "N", its all set up, BUT if the power goes out, you CAN NOT get back to the internet, when you open your browser it brings you to the router thats it, to get it to work i have to reset it to the factory settings, then sign into it again, then restore my saved settings, close browser, then open browser which takes me back to the router,sign back in,click logout and hope it does, if not repeat what was just done. I use this with Comcast internet to connect other devices wirelessly. I connect my directv box, xbox 360, wii, kindle fire and 2 laptops and it works perfectly. Easy to set up.

Very good router for basic Internet. It doesn't have lightning fast speeds. You will need the gigabit version for that then. Easy set up, and very easy to change to make your own password and network name.

This item arrived on time with Prime, I ordered it for a friend because he was having some internet issues and we hoped this would help. We can't decide if it's actually improving his connection and what not but I believe this is a good product.

I have a regular sized CD/DVD player on my Dell computer so I had to lay the CPU on it's side to use the tiny installation CD that came with this Netgear wireless USB Micro Adapter. I have System 7 installed so getting and installing and upgrading drivers was no problem. After I figured out how to connect to my home network, the little critter worked like a charm and at a fraction of the price of having a wireless chip installed into my PC by the Geek Squad. Now I don't have to have all those wires everywhere and all my Macs and PCs in my home office are connected wirelessly. Yay!

Shoper use usps ship the router. But when I open the box, the cover of the router is broken. I just think it doesn't matter if it works. The first time I use it, it works well. But few days later, sometimes it can't work. The internet is intermittent.

I have two other (older) routers in our business and they transmit much farther than this one. I bought this one to use in our 900 square foot adobe house. It may be that the adobe interferes, but our business is adobe, too, and the signal strength there is much better.I bought this because my research showed it would work with Century Link DSL. They don't want to tell you that, they want you to buy THEIR router, which is way overpriced and doesn't get very good reviews, either.I'd recommend this for the price, if you were using it in an apartment or very small house NOT build with adobe walls.

We bought two N300 routers but both of them had the issue of constantly dropping offline. I had to reset it every 18-20 hours to bring it back to online. I think there must be some defects in this product.

When you need a wireless connection - or a faster one for cheap!This review is written for non-technical people about improving the speed of their wireless access or getting on a laptop that does not have the capacity built in - For very little money! It reviews the utility of these devices and specifically discusses the features of this Netgear WN111v.2 Wireless-(draft-n) Adapter.More and more people own laptop/notebook or the newer and even smaller "netbooks." The idea is pretty straight forward. A computer that is portable and can easily be taken from place to place, unlike our traditional desktop-type computers that are secured by both the sheer mass as well as by the multitude of wired connections they usually require to one place.The evolution of portable technology led to what we call, descriptively, "wireless" connections. There are connections to wireless system that do not require wired connections. What they DO require is a wireless adapter, often built into to newer notebook and netbook units.There are a couple of possible complications. One is having access from a portable computer that does not have a built-in wireless card and the other is having one, but wanting greater speed than the now older versions of wireless adapters allow. An inexpensive and entirely satisfactory solution to either issue is the Netgear WN111 v.2, available for about $60. new. I bought one of theseand am please to say that it works perfectly.There are, essentially, four generations of wireless connections. They go by the shorthand designations of a,b,g and draft-n. "a" is the first and slowest and they increase in both speed and range up to the latest draft-n adapters and routers. Of course, for any wireless card or adapter to function, it must be within range and have access to a wireless router. These are ubiquitous at internet `hot spots' and are frequently becoming the connections of choice in peoples' homes.When I first wanted to increase the wireless download speed of my own notebook (two years old and with a built-in a/b/g wireless card, I mistakenly thought that I would only need to replace that card with one that would receive the faster, `draft-n' signal. Wrong! Turns our that these small wireless cards are often necessarily compliant with the motherboards (the computer heart and brain of your machine) and the card cannot be replaced with a `draft-n' card because it will not work with the motherboard.I actually thought about replacing the notebook computer - though in all other respects, it performed perfectly. Then I discovered the magic of wireless adapters, including those that received the speedier `draft-n' signals and connected to the outside of a laptop by simply 1) downloading the software from the company's website if a disc did not come with I and then 1) plugging it into an available USB (v2) port. After trying several and doing a good deal of research, I settled on the Netgear NN111 v.2 wireless USB adapter. I live in a NYC highrise with cement floors and ceilings. My router is on the other side of the apartment from my son's room. It's hard to pick up a signal in his room and the router can't be moved. I have a Samsung DVD player in that room and could not watch netflix on it. I went through every level of tech support with Samsung and was told that a wifi extender could not be used with that product. I came across this on Amazon, and it works beautifully. We can stream movies with no problem, even with the DVD player hidden away in a closet! Just bought another one for my other son's Xbox.

I paid abt $15 for this ref router. It work great, boot up the signal from 54mps 65mps. No problem setting up,just plug it in and done. No signal drop ever. For the price, it should receive5+++ rating

Overall, the product wasn't too bad. The only drawbacks I had with this seller is that I purchased this item at a new item price and still received a refurbished product. The item did not work with my wireless printer after endless attempts, and the shipping took too long. However, for basic wireless use, it does what it is intended to do.

I have AT&T U-verse for wireless internet. The wireless modem AT&T supplied works great on one side of the house where my ps3/360/Wii are, but not the other where my wife's graphic design computer is. I have no desire to run ethernet cables throughout the house. So I was in the market for something to amplify the wireless signal and to make my wife happy, who wants a computer with no internet? Many signal boosters are not compatible with U-verse and after talking with AT&T via customer support they recommended Netgear. I followed the instructions for installation and the entire process took less than 10 minutes (literally). My wife's computer now connects to the Netgear booster directly instead of the wireless AT&T modem. The signal strength went from 2 bars to full bars. Her internet speed increased significantly. It worked as expected, no issues at all.

I purchased this with an FVG318. I am using it to cover the second floor of a large 2 story gym. The dual bang is nice and the signal actually reaches the 1st floor too - there is a concrete and steel floor seperating most of the first and second floor. I have been buying NetGear access points for a number of years as well as their routers. I have always been very happy with them. They are reliable and that is necessary for businesses that need to be up all the time.

Worked really well when I got it about 9 months ago, replacing a dead Airport Extreme. Now at only 9 months continually drops connections until turned off for a minute or so, then starts doing it again 1/2 an hour later.Unfortunate that the home network equipment builders can't seem to create a networking product that lasts more than a year for the life of them.

Nice unit. But the range is not very good all things considered. Would I buy another one? No, it might be fine in a house, but it blows dead bears for commercial use.
