I've had this router just over 4 months and it has already become unreliable. Every few days it will refuse to connect to secure URLs (https). Power cycling the router has fixed this problem each time. I expected better from Netgear than a router that won't last more than a few months and a warranty that doesn't last more than a few months either.

This wireless adapter connects without fail to my wireless network. While the computer's built-in wireless connector frequently failed, this Netgear WPN111 adapter has been connecting every time. When first plugged in, the adapter did not recognize the wireless network. It was not possible to use the installation CD because the cd/dvd player in the computer was not working. A call to Netgear for support ended with the adapter connecting to the wireless router and the tech got all the computers in the house in sync with the wireless router. The router is also a Netgear product so that may have helped. I cannot praise enough the tech support received. The tech was knowledgeable & patient during the installation process.

Re: Netgear DGND3300 - MPEG stream droppingI just installed a Netgear DGND3300 wireless router/DSL modem. I have an IP webcam on my LAN, the webcam streaming video as MPEG. The DGND3300 keeps dropping the MPEG stream. I get about 40 seconds of the stream before it stops (leaving the browser screen with the last video frame, and no more sound). It's not clear what is causing the stream to be interrupted, but the Westell router/DSL modem I was using previously did not have this problem.Apart from the above, the DGND3300 seems to be working well. The setup was very easy. I was hoping to see a speed increase on my MacBook Pro when going to 802.11n, but Speakeasy's speed test does not indicate any significant change.

This product is horrible. We own a Belkin and it works, unlike this wireless adapter. I thought I'd try this one since it's smaller and a bit less money, but it doesn't doesn't pick up any signal from our modem, and the modem is across the hall in the next room. In addition, I bought it from State Street Deals, and they won't let us return it because it's been opened. How else would we find out it doesn't work? Definitely NOT a great product, or merchant. I'd avoid both at any cost.

After spending 3 days trying to diagnose latency and connectivity issues, I unfortunately had to return this item.Netgear provided no support without pay and posts to their free support forum were ignored.When attempting to fix the problem, I also had lots of issues with the UI of the management panel. Settings are not logically grouped and it was difficult to find what I needed.

My son is a professional IT Engineer and he bought one of these each for us and his own home to replace the separate DSL modem and router we previously had. Things worked out well for a few months, then the connection to the desktop (via Ethernet) started slowing down. After some isolation, I found that 3 of the 4 ethernet ports on the rear were either very slow or would not auto-negotiate a simple connection. The wireless continued to work OK. Had my son check his unit, and we found essentially the same problem with his (he had not noticed as he used wireless exclusively).I went looking at the NetGear Forum and found that This Is A Known, Documented Problem. Several users report identical failures over time demonstrating there is a fundamental design or component reliability problem.Stay away from this product. I'm going back to Cisco or Belken separate router and DSL modem.

I was looking to upgrade our old WRT54G Linksys with faster wired and wireless connections - this was at a great price point. Dropped the internet continually both (wired and wireless) while the wireless connection was actually weaker then our old model. I recently purchased the Linksys E3000, I am anxiously awaiting its arrival.

The adapter works extremely well and fast as well as being far away and several walls between the router and the adapter. I can pop it in my purse and use it elsewhere on my friends laptops and machines, it is my best purchase yet, WOW !!!

I have benefitted from reviews others have written on products, so now that I am encouraged by Amazon to write a review, I will just say that this router has been perfect for me. I cannot talk in high tech terms about the router. My brother-in-law is quite knowledgable about computers and suggested some guidelines for buying one without suggesting this router in particular. The NETGEAR WNR2000 met all those criteria, offering a very high level of security. I may have been fortunate but my cable service provider was very willing to work with me on the phone while I hooked the router up. Hook-up went very easily, and the router has worked without a problem ever since. The reception distance is more than I need to pick up inside and outside my house. I'm completely satisfied with this buy at this point (about 3 months after hooking it up). The router stands about 7 inches tall, 5 inches deep, and about an inch and a half wide. The stand it sits in is flat on the desk (has no height to it - just a snap in to offer a broader base for standing)and is about 2.5 inches wide.

very fast. i have 2 computers and a 360 hooked up to it. plus my vonage telephone service. it doesn't miss a beat. very easy to hookup took about 5 minutes. i have nothing bad to say about this product. the wireless range is excellent. look no further you found your wireless router right here!

I had a difficult time getting a strong signal from the upstairs Netgear box to the downstairs Receiver in the garage/famiy room. After I purchased the companion wireless receiver by Netgear, I get a great signal.

I'm a loyal Amazon shopper, but saw this as a bargain deal from another source for 7.98 (refurb - got 2, why not?). Works like a charm. some areas with weaker signals (= slow) that generally fritz on and off occasionally are now full strength and very speedy. Install was simple, plugged it in a USB port after connecting to the Internet and it did all it's own install. If they quit or fall apart I'll re-post, but am very please with this purchase!

I do not have time to write a long review but I can tell you this Router works lot better than my previous D-Link and Link-sys, which kept disconnecting once a while somehow. But I do not have any problem with this unit. Signal is good, I have N, G and even B wireless devices and it works on all and all together; never had to reset it since I bought it.

It's impossible to install it! After searching the internet forums, I did follow some instructions and it worked in Windows XP once. Then, it stopped working again. Could never install it in Windows 7 and couldn't find any support on the internet. Really, a big headache and money down the toilet. I don't recommend it unless you are a computer geek and like challenges.

overall i am happy with this router.first let me begin by saying i have a standard 6mbps broadband internet service from my cable company.the only reason i was going to buy a wireless router was because my PS3 doesn't support the cheap Ethernet cable my isp provided. when i couldn't find a 10baset or better cable i looked for wireless routers, i was able to find this at my neighborhood radioshack, after i saw the price was such a great value compared to the online prices i had seen for this same router...i bought itafter about several minutes i set it up... and i got about 100 megabites per second when a pc is connected to the wireless router via Ethernet cable and 54 mbps when using it wireless...i live in a 3 bedroom apartment, and have it set up in the living room, if i go to the farthest part of the apartment i am still getting 3 bars.unless u have a huge multiple story house, then u should really consider spending more for a better range router, i got this for a great price, works great,i haven't had any problems using my ps3 online with games that require good connection like cod, gta, and fight night...and the led lights are a trip!...i leave them on at night..hahaha...this is the mimo 10x speed 10x range version 3...

Most other information has been covered by other reviewers, but I wanted to share one item I found.There are two version the WRT3500 (WRT3500v1) and the WRT3500v2. The use very different chipsets (Marvell v. Broadcomm) and if you are hoping to use open-source/modified firmware like DD-WRT and the like you must have the v2 chipset. I bought used off Amazon Marketplace and received the v1 version. If you order be sure to say something in the comments section if you want v2 (if they even have them at the price they are asking.)

This product should be good but a combination of two problems have lead me to return this product: 1. wireless LAN connections repeatedly drop, and 2. tech support is unable to even identify the problem. I'll cover just the first one in this review. I bought this DGN2000 in December 2008 to replace an old 2wire modem/router. For over 4 years, that router kept 4-5 devices connected flawlessly to each other, if not always to the broadband network. I could always exchange files between two Apple desktops, an Apple TV, an Apple notebook and a Dell notebook. I could leave a device asleep for a day or shut off for a week, and it would connect without a hitch everytime.The purpose of getting the DGN2000 router was a more reliable, hopefully speedier broadband connection. I get those results only when my devices aren't being kicked off the local network. Sometimes after a few days, sometimes after a few hours, I have to start a series of restarts to get the wireless LAN working. Each episode begins with the inability to see other computers on the network. For example, my Apple TV won't sync with iTunes on my desktop. Everything says the network is working (the router admin pages, the devices' TCP info) and 1 device might even have Internet access, but any attempt to use the LAN times out.I don't know if this can explain anything, but the strangest clue to me is that while it broadcasts the wireless network's name as usual, it will start to broadcast the default SSID too ('NETGEAR') so that it looks like there are 2 networks. Why? Should I have left the SSID unchanged? But that's an unacceptable solution (I live in a dense city).Maybe this is easy for those you experienced with configuring networks. I just wish Netgear would invest in hiring some of you so that I could get past their Tech Support's solution of "Reset it. Now it works? Ok, problem solved. Please answer the survey on my performance."

The product failed, and they keep giving me excuses as to why they couldn't just give me my money back since there were no more replacement units. If you have a question and need to give them a call be sure to get your favorite beverage before calling. Of the five times I had to call it took me about 10 to 12 minutes to get thru to someone. WNR3500 was the device that I purchased, I hope this is helpfull, I know I will never buy from netgear again.

Netgear WPN824NA Wireless Mimo RouterI am very happy with the router, the customer support from Netgear was not good and they were not pleased that I bought a used router so I will buy my electronics from another supplier. I did tell them I purchased this from Amazon znd if I had a problem I would return this router and get another one.

This router seems to have problems with connecting over iChat with Snow Leopard (Mac OSX 10.6). Turning off WMM at least allowed you to start video chat, but I still have not been able to get screen sharing to work. Other routers I've worked with (eg. Linksys WRT600N or Apple's Airport Extreme) have not had any problems. I've never had much luck with Netgear and I continue to have problems with their products.

I recently purchased a netgear range max wireless router with USB adapter included. I am very happy with the router. However, I purchase it thinking that I would recieve a router and a usb adapter. Well, guess what! All I got was the router and when I replied back to Blue Light Bargains to find out why I didn't recieve all my order, they blamed it on Amazon for the misinterpretation of the product. They have offered a full refund less shipping but I want my adapter because I have an older laptop that is not wi-fi compatible. I already have a super g wireless router that worked just fine. The main reason I ordered this was for the adapter. Sorry but I will not purchase anything else from Blue Light Bargains because they put it off on Amazon. Not Right!

I replaced a 2wire wireless router/DSL modem with this. It installed just fine on ATT DSL service. It works great and both wireless g and n speeds seem good. N signal strength is better than g, presumably with it using the 5Ghz band. I use two macbook pros on the n network and a Wii and ipod touch on the g network. The latest firmware update enables the USB storage port to connect an external USB harddrive. There were a few features missing that I was used to with the 2wire router such as port remapping (forward an external port x to internal port y) and local DNS lookups for devices connected on the local network. These are minor features that generally aren't present on consumer routers so this is not a big deal.

I was having issues with using a splitter on my cable network, and decided to go wireless. I had the WG111v2 network adapter, which worked fine, but was a lot slower than using a cable. I decided to buy the WN111. The installation and setup was easy, and my connection is blazing fast. The blue light on the adapter is very bright, but I kind of like that. I have no regrets about going wireless using this adapter.

DO NOT BUY THIS. I got it to replace an ancient actiontec modem/dsl router. First, it has no support for mac setup, and will make you do everything manually. Second, when it failed to connect I called Netgear. They claimed it was a problem with my ISP, Verizon, so I called Verizon. They claimed the problem was with Netgear. Back and forth at least 2 or 3 times. I'm pretty sure the problem was with Netgear because my DSL works fine with the old modem/router. However, Netgear refused to take any responsibility for their product. So, I'm returning it because the cursed thing still won't work, and they won't help me. Stay away from this horrible product and their useless customer service.

This unit is not backward compatible with "G" devices, so one of my laptops could communicate with it and the other couldn't.I'm on the 2nd one of these boxes. I returned the first I received, after it developed intermittent power problems and kept shutting itself off. Sometimes, the box would stay powered up for a day or two and other times it would shut down after only a few seconds. The little button on the back doesn't turn the unit off and on either. It merely turns the LED on and off. So, you have to physically remove the power plug and reinsert it to reset the device.I never could get my new LG DVD player to communicate with this access point and that is the main reason that I bought an "N" wireless AP. My laptop, which communicated fine with the first AP (when it ran) wouldn't talk to the new box either.Currently, it is being utilized as an expensive and ugly paperweight, while my old Linksys WAP54G is doing the work and still giving me a decent HD picture on my LG DVD player.

Got this router to pair it with the 3700 as a wireless-n bridge and gigE switch. The bridge mode cannot use WPA (only WEP) and is not a truebridge. Replaced this with the Dlink 1522 which works fine as a wireless-n bridge with WPA and has 4 gigE ports. Also refurb'd 3500Version A is not compatible with DD-WRT, so customizing is not an option.

This router works fine for Internet access...Where it falls short is on Remote access into the LAN side of the network.I am unable to access the LAN side of my network at all from the Internet, no VNC, no PCAnywhere, no torrents, no REMOTE CONTROL, FTP server - none of it can be accessed from the Internet.This is despite multiple calls to the free tech support, which always comes back to me with, "contact your software representative" OR "your computer hardware manufacturer"That is not what's wrong, all of these worked fine with the Linksys router and a Cisco 817 router - but as soon as I put the NetGear in, these applications failed to get through the router. The tech support verified my setup and said it was my software, but of course, the software didn't change, only the router did.Note : The free tech support wasn't very good or technical.If you require an Internet router, this works fine for NAT. If you require access to the LAN side of your network through the router, please look elsewhere, that includes playing games etc.

The unit is fine, but it appears that you can not use wireless n speeds unless you use a specific encryption type. I only have one device that has wireless n and the newer encryptions types in my house, so I had to set it to the WEP encryption, thus losing the extended range and higher throughput benefits. I can't find anything in the manual or the message boards that allows for older type units to be used simultaneously with the newer wireless n technology (like a, b and g). Perhaps there is a way that I have not discovered.

I've been using this for about 2 months. They've released a new firmware updates and this router has been running without a hiccup. I am a huge xbox live player (easy open NAT setup) and an avid torrent user. This router has become my new best friend in those respects.

This little card, when used with the teaching tools of Linux and Windows based OS platforms, this little card works very well with both. It's maximum range capability allows my laptop to be used at over 100 feet from the wireless router. With the capability to transmit information to another (ad-hoc) computer such as a laptop the range and the Tx and Rx is far greater than 100 feet. With the Linux OS platform using in conjunction with the madwifi driver, the compatability and ease of use is dead on.If you are looking for a great product, versatility, and user friendly application of installment, then this is the product of choice.

I was to happy to order this item, the price was just right and I knew netgear is a good brand. I was told it would come with a CD disk to install, instead it came with instruction to found disk download, at netgear.com. After founding the right drive to download. I still had problems getting connected. Had to ask for help from netgear technical support. They were very nice in helping me getting the adapter to work. The adapter starts out working fine, then it will disconnect from the internet and after clicking refresh it will start up again. Also once the computer is shut down and you turn it back on, the adapter stops working. So I have to go thu the whole connecting process again to get the adapter to connect to the internet. I have use many different brands of adapter and this is the 1st time that I am having this problem. I choose this adapter because, its much stronger then the one I had. So I feel there is something wrong with the adapter. My Laptop is fairly new so I know its not the computer. I wouldn't purchase anything else from this seller. I have 2 reason 1st one. It took over a month to get my purchase and 2 Item is defective.

Thought this thing was it! It wasn't!!! Bought it knowin' about the heat issues. Mounted it on it's own stand w/ a small fan. Lasted 7 months. Wireless still works and port 1 sometimes... Set up was easy. Anyone ranking this with high regards truthfully, will soon recant.....STAY AWAY!

I had no issues installing and setting up this router. The gigabit feature is quite nice, and I have encountered no difficulties with wireless connections, reliability is good. I went from about 12Mbs with a Netgear G adapter card to over 22Mbs with a Netgear N adapter, maxing out my broadband connection. In its upright orientation, the unit takes up little space. It instantly recognized my gigabit connections.Works as expected and the "green" features are an added bonus.

Easy Set Up and delivers an excellent signal. Netgear has always been my first choice for routers because of great technical support and the network configurations are easy to set up. I would recommend this router highly as wireless N is the new standard for wireless connectivity that permits higher throughput to attached devices.

This router was SOOO easy to setup my 8 year old could have done it! It's nice looking, but who really looks at their router. I haven't put the distance to the test but it works great at a distance of about 20-30 feet. I'm sure I could double that with no problem. I have used this product for a couple of weeks now, and it has been great. I switched from a 2wire I bought from my ISP about a year ago. It was okay, but never negotiated my speed above 2Mbs, and I subscribe to up to 3Mbs. With the Netgear, my DSL speed negotiation with the ISP has consistently been at the complete upper range of what I subscibe to, both up and down. The interface isn't too bad, but not as "easy-GUI" as 2wire. As with anything dealing with networking equipment, I recommend that you have someone install this that knows what they are doing. I work with networks and servers, and this still took me a few minutes to figure out. You can run Wireless N at 130Mbs, or 270Mbs. I leave mine at 130Mbs because it is more consistent, plus my computer communicates with devices plugged into the on-board switch/router on the Netgear, and they only run at 100Mbs anyway. Don't worry though, because #1, your DSL is nowhere near 100Mbs, and #2, I don't know many people that saturate a 100Mbs or 130Mbs network port in their home network. The main suggestion I have for installing this product is to print all of the settings from your existing Modem before installing. It auto-detects to a degree, but my ISP had sold me a speed of DSL it wasn't supposed to and I was too far from the ISP access point for the Modem to auto-pull information. I have since downgraded my speed, and I don't fault this modem, that is just a suggestion. With the information in hand, the setup was quick and painless.

As with another reporter who purchsed this item, I too believed it would function as a repeater. While it was inexpensive to purchase, by the time I paid to return it the costs to get it and send it back would have matched the purchase price. Waste of my time and resources... Buyers beware!

I went through two orders of the WN111. The first was DOA hardware issue. The second had software driver issues. I downloaded driver version: 3.5.0.7 from Netgear site. I spoke with Netgear technical support who admitted they are experiencing issues with many of their drivers not having proper Windows 7 support.If you are running Windows 7, I'd recommend waiting for revised drivers from Netgear prior to purchasing. I'll be returning this product.

Just set up my 5Ghz Wireless-N kit. And I have to say, it's been amazingly simple so far. I added this pair as a high-speed bridge for my X-box 360 and Slingbox. I had a 802.11b/g WiFi network already in place, but wanted a faster, dedicated net for media streaming. I followed the suggestions of other comments on this board and manually set one unit to AP (access point) and the other to BRIDGE (there's a toggle switch on the back of each unit). That's all I had to do. Connected one unit to an Ethernet port on my b/g router, and the other unit to my xbox and slingbox (using the two available Ethernet ports on the Netgear bridge). After about 20 seconds of blinking lights, they were both up and running.With just this, I could stream Netflix to my xbox and watch my slingbox from other computers at 'N' speeds. Everything worked. (My 802.11b/g setup still works fine as well)I could have stopped there, but just to be sure, I logged on to the ACCESS POINT configuration page and checked the security settings. The Netgear pair come pre-configured with WPA security. Matching keys were already in the units. Again, as per the suggestions in other comments, I deselected all the auto features (band select, channel select, etc), hoping to create the most stable link.
